Todd is awesome, attendance is not mandatory at all but there are sometimes clicker questions. He never keeps us more than an hour even tho its 80 min class. He lets you take the online quizzes twice and gives you the answers after your first try. Hes so nice and just a little geology nerd who wants his students to do well and learn to like geology

First exam will be your lowest grade because of really specific questions. After that, the exams with answers are posted so if you review those, you should be fine. A lot of easy quizzes and assignments that will help to raise your grade IF you show up. Very helpful and will basically tell you the answers for the assignments. Class can get boring.

Todd is a sweetheart. However, his lectures were rather boring. He is super into science which is awesome and for some assignments he literally walks you through it to get an A. There is a lot of material but the tests are easy if you memorize everything.

Todd Dupont is pretty good! I will say the class is a bit more difficult than I expected. The material isn't challenging, but there is a lot of it and all tests are cumulative. The lectures are pretty straightforward and posted online. You do have to show up because of clicker questions, but he usually gives you the answer or a hint. Nice guy

This class wasn't really as easy as I had anticipated. Most of your grade depends on the tests, which are all cumulative and very detailed. There were supposed to be extra assignments to boost grades but we only did about half of them. Either way, Todd is a nice guy that just really loves geology and wants his students to love it too.

Todd is a really nice guy and definitely knows geology. His classes are all lectures except for some in-class exercise days. Tests aren't bad if you study the quizzes and the book. Worst part of the class? It's PAINFULLY boring. Todd does not know how to entertain a crowd. Class was half empty almost every day and most people fell asleep.

There were in class exercises as well as quizzes homework and three tests. The quizzes and homework were all online and really easy, plus you got to take them twice. The tests were detailed but weren't very hard as long as you study the book too. He walks you through the in class exercises so you always get them right! Very fun and easy class.

Todd is awesome! he is the easiest professor known to man. Attendance is not necessary and all the notes are on the power point he reads in class which can be found online. He does all class work with you and ensures 100% credit for them, his test have a lot of info but are not hard, i would definitely take again he is awesome.

For someone not at all interested in geology, this class was surprisingly painless. Lecture notes are posted online, as are keys from previous exams. Clicker points earn you a few points, plus an extra credit opportunity at beginning and end of term. In-class exercises are a guaranteed 100%, as are quizzes (he gives you two chances to take them).

Todd is one of my favorite professors so far at Miami. Such a nice guy and good teacher. He is very understanding and strives to help students get good grades. My greatest respect from him comes from his will to have students succeed while still holding students to a high standard. Would definitely recommend him.

Todd's class was a lecture style class, so I was able to sleep through some classes without missing anything. In-class activities are super easy because he gives you all the answers (not kidding). Exams aren't that bad. I'm just too lazy to study. I put very little effort into the class, and I currently have a B. If you show effort, you're fine.

Professor Dupont is super sweet and extremely passionate about geology. His class was very large so he doesn't really notice if you don't show up - all of the notes are online. He also gives a lot of online quizzes but they're very easy and you're given multiple attempts. I really enjoyed his lectures and would gladly take one of his classes again.

Super easy Geology class that I would take again. His expectations are clear, and the course content is super easy. two midterms and a final. In class and online assignments that are a guaranteed A, since he walks you through them all, and you get multiple attempts on homework and quizzes. I got an A, and if you show up to class, you should too

Dr. Dupont is a highly respected professor. Although geology may be boring, he tries to keep the students engaged by cracking some scientific joke. Honestly, if you are content with a B + then you would only have to show up on in class assignments and exams. But, if you want an A you would have to go for the clicker points. Take this class!

Todd definitely knows his stuff. His lectures are very boring and you really don't need to show up. His tests are easy and posts every powerpoint onto his site. If you go in and see him he will allow you to get some more points to boost your grade by 1-2%.

EASIEST PROFESSOR AT MIAMI!!!! This class is so easy minimal effort is needed to get an A. Posts the powerpoints online study a tiny bit before the test and you will do well. Has clicker questions but it is no big deal if you miss a few doesn't impact grade too much. You will be sorry if you take a different geology teacher the rest are horrible

Professor Dupont is a great professor, his class is very easy, but the subject is dull, although Todd does his best to make his lectures interesting. Over the course of the semester it is possible to get up to 5% of extra credit points. Overall his class was one of the best Miami Plan courses.

Great professor. Clicker questions were how attendance was taken - you can save about $80 by downloading the app instead of buying the clicker. Bonus was given for each question answered above the number listed in the syllabus! Book was necessary for me, lots of questions in the book were on the exams. Overall, easy A if the basic work is done.

He is an extremely kind dude who basically knows this is a required class by Miami plan and won't try to kill your GPA. Was going to take it for credit/no credit until I saw how easy it was.

Professor DuPont is such a great professor, and this class is SUPER easy. His quizzes, homework and tests are very easy. You get two tries for quizzes, unlimited tries for homework, and his exams are all questions from previous tests. If you want an A, be sure to go to class for clicker points and do all assignments! Todd understands that most of us are just there for MP, so he makes his class doable for everyone, regardless of geologic knowledge. It's almost impossible to forget assignments because he sends reminders almost daily, and everything is super easy. Really nice guy, and occasionally funny too. If you need a GLG class, take Todd.

As another review said, Todd Dupont is truly a "homie." Super nice, easy grader, and posts all lecture slides online for access. We had 6-8 in class exercises that were worth a lot but he essentially gave us the answers. Most exam questions are straight from the homeworks (which are also easy) or the lecture slides. Very easy exams. Awesome guy

Todd made the class very easy overall. Textbook wasn't required. Any in class work he would walk completely through and give the answers for. As long as you're good at memorizing study guides the tests are easy.

Todd Dupont is a great professor who is super knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter within his classes. Taking his class online was the best decision I could've made the semester. All you have to do to get a good grade is watch his lectures, take notes, and complete the easy assignments. I highly recommend for non science majors.

Just an introductory course, but really helpful. He is a really good teacher and I would recommend any class of his, due to how approachable he is and how willing he is to help his students.

Todd is great! There were some really tough concepts in this class but I felt like he covered them well. Always very clear about what’s on the tests, gives away free multiple choice questions. Sometimes will pile on assignments though

Very, VERY easy class. If you need to pick up a couple credit hours or need this for a requirement, highly recommend. Class is not mandatory, but he has like 1-2 quizzes every week but they aren't proctored.

SUPER easy Miami Plan class. Todd is nice and funny, but I honestly stopped going to class after the first week and still ended up with a high A. There's a textbook but I never once opened it and attendance isn't mandatory. He also sends out reminders all the time so you always know what's going on. Definitely take this class!

Really good guy. Posts lecture powerpoints so you dont really need to go to class. Mostly memorization. Quizzes and exam practices have exact questions that are on exam. Lots of opportunities for XC! Rounded exam grades up end of semester. 2 tries on quizzes, unlimited on hw. Dont buy textbook, same info thats in lectures.

Best professor for geology. He is extremely knowledgeable, nice, and understands that many students who take his class are not geology majors. Take this guy and don't look back.

Definitely recommend GLG121 with Dupont for needed credit. He is very understanding and actually wants students to succeed. There are a lot of assignments for the class, but you have unlimited opportunities for many of them. He doesn't punish students for not knowing material yet. Easy and pretty interesting!

Very easy professor and a nice guy, definitely recommend the class if you need a natural science credit.

Easy J-term class. Definitely recommend him and his class. Exams are slightly harder than the quizzes but you should do well on both overall. Very clear and to-the-point class.

This is my favorite professor. He answers emails promptly. He will help students when they have any questions. I also registered for his GLG355. He is a very good professor.

Todd is an absolute gem!! He is very passionate about geology. Not many people attend his class because attendance is very much optional however this makes me kind of sad because you can tell he truly cares about his students learning and teaching geology.

I went to class 1 day the entire semester and got an A, everything can be done easily from home. Only things that suck are the exams are very long and sometimes don't give you enough time and all the assignments are due at 7pm, which can get hard to keep track of.

Attendance is emphasized as not mandatory which is nice and all exams were online, unproctored. I only showed up to class for the first 2 weeks and still did well. If you're at Miami and need a physical science credit, take this class alongside the GLG115 Lab. It will be the easiest 4 credits. ALSO DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK, YOU WILL NEVER OPEN IT!

Most of the material could be learned without going to class to be honest. Most of the class does very well with him. His lectures can be boring, but can be nice to go to if you want a good grade and not really use the textbook as much. The grading is clear with assignments, quizzes, and exams. On quizzes and assignments, you get multiple tries.

He is literally the best professor I've ever had. I decided to take GLG 111 and GLG 121 with him, and his classes are so easy. Attendance is not mandatory, and it's such an easy A. He doesn't require attendance, and everything is done online. All hw, tests, quizzes, and exams are all online unproctored, and unbelievably simple and straightforward.

Todd is absolutely awesome!! I've taken two classes with him and they were both super interesting and not very difficult. The textbook is required but lectures are so well made that you don't really need it. Assignments, quizzes, and exams are either step-by-step explained or word-for-word from lectures. Todd makes the info easy to grasp.

A really cool professor who explains things well. While there is a lot of homework it isn't too difficult. As someone who finds it hard to pay attention to lectures, I found it pretty easy to stay focused and take in the info. A very good professor overall.

Lectures were boring but they very clearly explained material. Lots of homework, assignments, and quizzes but they are fairly easy and do give you a sense of what you should expect on the exam. They also help keep your grade high. Practice exams are given which help a ton. Great class overall, lots of passion from Todd on the subject !

Can't recommend Todd's classes enough. Occasional homework assignments (reading articles, watching cool documentaries) and quizzes (all multiple attempts). Exams are always cumulative. He makes things as easy as possible. Reading the textbook is not necessary, Todd's slides cover everything. Very accessible outside of class via email.

Exams are now in-person, which I know surprised some people around me. I didn't get the textbook because of the lecture slides being posted on Canvas, but probably would have come in handy a few times. Quizzes/HWs are multiple attempts. I'd recommend coming to class.
