Loved this prof ! very funny guy, says alot of jokes during his lecture very easy going. He NEVER uses a textbook, do yourself the favor and do not buy it. He makes powerpoints for his lectures, alls you need to do is take notes. He is the easiest math prof you will ever have in college. His reviews are exactly what is on the exam, no way to fail.

Great prof. Never opened my text book. Home work is done online, very willing to let you make up any missed assignment, just shoot him an email. Big tech guy, loves his gadgets. Take this teacher, he rocks. Don't think i'll be lucky enough to have another like him. Test's and quizzes are cake, don't know how anyone can fail his class

He is the best math professor/math teacher i have ever had. He makes his powerpoints interesting and fun. Hes taught me so many tricks to make math easier and explains things so you actually understand WHY you are doing them. He is such a great professor and makes sure everyone understands before moving on.. definitely take him if you can.

Great teacher! You are allowed to interrupt him during his lecture the moment you do not understand anything. Goes over every homework question you have. 3 Tests, 3 quizes, and the final. Does not use textbook, his lectures and study guides for all quizes and tests are on blackboard for your reference. You will not regret taking his class!

The guy is the best math professor out there at Willy P or Montclair. He knows his stuff. He's crystal clear about everything and if he's not, he is willing to take the time with you to explain/go over everything. Do the work, try your best, and study and you'll do well. Easily one of the best professors I've ever taken.

Very helpful and clear and makes sure everyone understands the material. Even though math is my least favorite subject mainly because I struggle with it the most, I actually enjoyed going to his class because it wasn't boring and he gives great tips and tricks to help you.

This professor, is the best professor ever, I think everyone should follow his example. Basically he gives 3 exams, including the final and 10 quizzes which each have 2 questions on them. Then there is the weekly webassign homework. He lets you make up test, quizzes and hw assignments. if you do every hw assignment, I GUARANTEE an A in his class.

Mr. Federman is a crystal clear professor! You don't need to buy the textbook because he makes the power points and post them online. A lot of WebAssign homework BUT they are very helpful. If you do the WebAssign yourself and understand them, then you don't really need to study for his exams!! I would definitely take him if he teaches higher level!

AWSOME PROFESSOR! He is very intelligent and has a great personality which makes class easy. Willing to help anyone who asks for it. Very clear however does go fast at times. Don't need the book as he makes awesome power points and puts them on blackboard. Tests are pretty easy. Overall defiantly recommended !!

Easy class, a lot of webassign though, so put in the work. He's a nice teacher and is very clear, but he goes fast so you need to keep up. Be prepared to teach yourself off powerpoint though. He gives review sheets which help a lot. Extra credit too. He's smart and is helpful.

He posts all powerpoints (which he makes and are very detailed) on blackboard along with review guides for each test. Review guides HELP ALOT and makes studying for the test a breeze. TAKE HIM

BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!!!! He is a very good teacher and explains everything clearly. If class is canceled you can attend an online class (optional) for extra credit and there are extra credit problems. The h.w is a little tough but it is online and so is the book. He also responds to emails very quickly if you need him or have questions.

Brilliant professor that takes a terrible class like pre-calc, and actually makes it enjoyable. Gives study guides, and a decent amount of homework. This professor is the best math professor I have had at MSU, or anywhere. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!

I had no problems with the class even though prior I was a little anxious. He knows what he's talking about, makes sure you understand the material, incorporates humor into his lectures/ppt slides which btw is very well organized. He's lenient, responds to emails quickly, very tech savy for a guy his age haha HE'S JUST A CHILL PROF. I RECOMMEND!!!!

this was his first time teaching this course, that may be why it was hard for me to learn. he covered all the material that was required but he didn't teach it in a sense. he really cares about your grade, he wants everyone to succeed in his class which is good. if you go to his office hours he is very helpful. you don't need the textbook.

Professor Federman is the best teacher you will ever have for Economics. It was his first time teaching the course, however, he did a great job. He always looks after each student, cares and does not want anyone to fail. He is very helpful also with tech stuff, funny, and very down to earth teacher. Curves tests, but still easy A!

He is a great professor. Very nice and personable. There are 2 midterms, 1 final, 1 paper due at the end of the semester, and homework assignments online that are fairly easy. Just make sure you study for the exams and you will pass.

This was the first semester he taught micromacro economics. His powerpoints are extremely helpful and makes it easier to understand. He is always there to help if needed

Great lectures his powerpoints are engaging. Makes going through economic lessons a tad more bearable. The class consisted of 3 tests, a paper and homework. Easy class. Was able to get all A's with minimal effort. (Had taken micro before) Good teacher, very engaging. Reading the textbook is a must to passing.

Professor Federman is an awesome teacher. He emails back fairly quickly, easy to get along with, his lectures are clear if you pay attention. If you miss a class, you'll miss a lot of what's covered on midterm and final. Term paper, midterm and final weren't hard, just need to study a bit. He's there if you need help. He doesn't give out tests.

ECON is a hard subject to teach in general. The fact that this man understands that and tries to make it clear for the students is amazing. His powerpoint are great. There are 3 exams, homework and a paper. Do the homework, study for the exams, participate and you'll get an A.

REALLY GREAT TEACHER! TAKE HIS CLASS! He gives a major curve on the tests. His homework is pretty easy you get unlimited times to re due it if you want a better grade. He puts a lot of time on his POWERPOINTS to make it more fun to learn which helps.

He is one of the best. I wish I could have taken him again for ECON101 but his classes were filled. His PP are extremely organized and helpful and you can see them from canvas when you go home also. Curves nice. Gives a weekly hw online which it's easy to get an A on bc he let's you try it more than once and it's multiple choice.

Quite possibly one of the best professors I have had the pleasure of taking a class with so far at Montclair State. If you pay attention and do the homework, you will have no trouble passing his class. His PowerPoints are gold; treat them as such and you will do very well.

Although it was a tough class since I took it over a summer session- ENTIRE SEMESTER'S WORTH OF CLASS CRUNCHED INTO 6 WEEKS- he broke it down perfectly & was extremely clear with his lectures! His PPT presentations are 2nd to none! EVERYTHING he does is online including pre-recorded lectures which you can revisit!! Do the work & you will pass!

Such a great teacher, deff made everything very clear. As long as you pay attention it should b an easy a, always reviews before tests. Question on reviews will most likely be the ones on test. Extra reading is recommended. Taking him again for macro!

Great teacher he's the guy you want. Always gets back to my emails. Skipping class is okay he doesn't count it but I'd recommend not to as it helps on the 3 tests he gives you. He gives a paper as well. I have not gotten the grade yet for paper. Let's you write 1 sheet of notes that you can use on exam. Front and back. Take him!

Great professor, understands its a hard subject to teach. He will work great lengths with you to help you pass, but you must also put in the work. one of the best professors at this school. if you dont do well on an exam dont worry he curves it most of the time bumping you up a full letter grade. his powerpoints, which he takes great pride in, are insanely good and help immensely. his classes always are the first to be closed when picking a schedule because everyone wants him as a teacher

Professor Federman is by far the best instructor I have had the privilege of taking throughout my college career. He goes above and beyond to spend the time needed in order for you to understand. He offers office hours almost everyday of the week and is extremely efficient. I highly recommend taking him for either micro or macro.

Federman is a bro. He is easily one of the most renowned professors at Montclair. He does everything he can to get you a good grade, extra credit if you need it. His PP are A+ and lectures very helpful. The marginal benefit of his class outweighs the marginal cost of the class, making this class very special (you'll know what this means soon).

I had him for Micro in my first semester of college and he was great. Its a lecture and you will be in class til the end time. He is nice and has a lot of good experience. His lectures are good because he doesn't just read off the slides. He talks about each slide and his Powerpoints are great. I would take him again. He is a great teacher.

Professor Federman was extremely helpful and wanted to see each and every one of us succeed. I was afraid I wouldn't get that on a college level, however when I needed help on homework, he went step by step with me and made sure I understood everything. He curves exams, has make-ups if you don't do well, and you can redo homework with no penalty.

I 1st took this class w/ another professor and struggled and had to retake it. Federman made this class easy and understandable. Hws are online and you are able to redo them to get 100s. His powerpoints have all the info on it. He lets you have a cheat sheet for every test and curves every test, even gives you a make up test if you do bad! TAKE HIM

He is one of the few professors I have had thta show they really care about you passing their class. If you get a low score on the homework he makes you see him to discuss what you didnt understand. The class is hard so get involved, ask questions and let him know you need help and you will pass. I would take him again!

I loved having Prof. Federman! He assigns homework, but it is definitely for our benefit. By reading the powerpoint slides and doing the Connect readings you will better understand the material. The course consists of 3 exams, but he allows you to have a "study" sheet and curves all the exams. There is a 5 page paper, but nothing too hard.

Do not take his class twice a week. Homework online, explains economic concepts very well however I never paid attention. He embarrassed me quite often which was annoying. Do not come in late to his classes, email when you're not going to class. He also looks at his reviews, Hi Professor Federman.

Todd Federman is the definition of the man. This guy knows the ins and outs of economics through and through. Tough exams, but he lets you have a 1 page study guide to help you during the test. He also has study hours that are extremely helpful. His lectures get heavily math oriented, but he makes it relevant, interesting, and humorous. Take him!

I loved this professor! He is amazing and is very knowledgeable about economics. Will try his best to makes sure you do well and wants everyone to succeed in his class. He has office hours and responds to his email. His tests are not easy and you have to study for them but you are allowed a note sheet during the test, where you can put anything.

Prof. Federman spends a lot of time composing his powerpoints in order to ensure students understand the difficult topics covered in micro. This is my 3rd attempt at microeconomics and I can confidently say I understand the topics and will pass the class with a B. The other professors I tried to take the course with were terrible and I withdrew.

He's lit. He cares about us students and is always willing to meet in his office to tutor if needed. Let's you have a "study sheet" in the exam which can save your grade. Macro sucks but he made it suck so much less. I almost failed Micro with a different prof and got 90-100's on Todd's tests. It was a miracle I actually understand economics now.

Amazing professor, does literally everything he can to make sure his students succeed. This is not a class you can cheat in, as all of his tests are in lockdown. You shouldn't need to cheat though, because his lectures are crystal clear. Write the concepts in your notes, not the definitions.

hes really a great professor and makes a subject that isnt too fun pretty interesting. hes the man, take him and make a great study guide for his exams and do your hw and you will pass, im taking him again for 101 and would def take him again.

Professor does the best he can to teach the course. 5 mandatory papers that do not count as credit but you have to do them. Three tests all of which are difficult but he lets you use a study sheet during the tests which are usually double sided. Also, do the online hw which are easy and help you prep for tests. Overall, great professor.

Regular workload including weekly chapter quizzes you can retake, and occasional one page papers on a topic from the lecture. He's very generous with exam curves and offers extra credit. Has a lot of office hours and he's quick to answer emails. Just pay attention during reviews and look over his sample exams and you'll do fine

ECON is always hard unless its your major or minor. He's clearly a smart Professor, just arrogant. Seems like he wants to help students and cares enough to learn your name, but not enough to talk to you outside of class and learn about his students. TESTS are really tough. Study guides won't help as much unless you get ECON.

Prof. Federman is the real deal. If you ever get the chance to take him, TAKE HIM. if you dont youre missing out. His tests are a bit tricky but they are not hard. 2 midterms and a Final. Have to buy Connect for the Homeworks. Attendance does not count and he makes the lectures fun and enjoyable. TAKE HIM, YOU WONT REGRET.

Professor Federman makes econ extremely easy and understandable. The only negative I have to say about him is that he teaches from beginning to end... you get out sometimes 5 minutes before. Other than that, if you pay attention, read, and do the assignments... you got a B or A. Test: 2 midterms 1 Final (All multiple choice, usually a 10pt curve)

although I could have gotten A in this class since I did really bad on the final, I ended up with B. He is a very generous teacher who actually boosts up ur grade from participation and handing homework on time. As long as u show that you are willing to learn, he will give u the curve u need.

I admired his dedication to his career, you can see his passion reflected in his power points and you can tell he takes pride in teaching. He makes himself available for questions before and after class. He even offered to do a Skype lesson on his day off as a review the day before the exam. I used alot of the concepts from the class at work.

He's a really nice guy. We had a quiz every week which was taken on lockdown browser. The material is pretty easy as long as you pay attention to him during class. He emphasizes studying outside of class to do well in the class.

Took him over the summer for ECON 102, I really enjoyed him so I'm currently taking him again for ECON 101. It's a very difficult subject but he definitely makes it manageable. He's really understanding & curves grades as long as you attend class, pay attention and put in the work on Connect. Make sure to look over the quiz reviews on Canvas too!

My favorite professor last semester. Exams are hard but graded on a curve which is super generous. His powerpoints are helpful for the exams and understanding the material. Economics is not easy, but take him, he is very open for office hours and it's very helpful. There is weekly homework assignments but its very simple and 5 one page papers.

If you're gonna suffer through macroeconomics or microeconomics do it with Federman, offers at least 10 points toward final grade of extra credit. He cares and will teach you. A lot of work just do it.

I am not a student at Montclair, but I took Microeconomics with Mr. Federman over the summer for six weeks. He warned us at the beginning that the course would be fast paced, but throughout every step of the way he made his lectures engaging and explained everything more efficiently than any professor I've had before.

He's the number one professor worth having for macro/micro. He really dumbs it down with his ppt lectures, there's 5 one-paged papers (very easy as long as u submit them), weekly connect homework, and vocabulary reviews on canvas. Great guy, offers a lot of extra help outside of class, and curves tremendously on exams. TAKE HIM!!!!

Professor Federman is the best professor for micro or macro. He takes a dry topic like economics and simplifies it for his students. During the pandemic he kept the class organized and he is always open to questions and help. Easily one of the best professors I've had so far. The textbook is an access code that you purchase for online homework.

Professor Federman is one of the BEST out there! Although the material is not always easy, he does his absolute best to help in any way he can and wants you to do well. During the pandemic, he laid everything out super clearly, gave four small quizzes instead of another midterm and a final, and held office hours on Zoom every Monday and Wednesday.

Professor Federman taught an amazing micro class in the fall 2020 semester. With everything going on right now within the pandemic, he didn't make his class hard on us. He really cares about his students and their grades as he was always accessible outside of class. Overall his class was amazing and I cannot wait to have him next semester for Macro

Great person and teacher. If you need extra time or you can't take the test on the assigned day just ask, he'll prob say yes. Lets you use a study sheet on tests but he does use lockdown browser.

This is going to be the most useful review for ECON 101. Professor Federman is such a great professor to listen to and knows what he is talking about. Give lots of opportunities to pass however, his tests are used on Lockdown Browser with the camera on at all times. Quizzes are medium level and homework is on connect which is given a week to do.

He is one of the best professors I have ever met at MSU! I loved his teaching so much that I ended up having him again for another semester for a different course. He is willing to help anyone with any topic in macro or micro and even holds office hours. Take him!!!

Even though I am actually terrible at econ in every way, he was super nice to me and gave me a clear understanding of what I needed to pass the class. If you're good at econ you will definitely get a good grade in his class, but if your not he at least is a really great prof!

Took him for a summer course with no knowledge of microeconomics. He is a really great professor and gives you a summer schedule of what to do and when to do it. His lectures are detailed, but very clear. There is a lot of work, but if you keep up with it its not bad. Would definitely take him again!

Posting this since registration is coming up, you should definitely take him if you don't lack basic common sense. He's extremely caring and he will dumb down any concept as if he's speaking to a child just so everybody understands. He just wants you to pass the class and will make sure you do so. 5 quizzes and 1 final. Do your hw and pay attention

I had this class as asynch but he set it up very easy to follow and to understand concepts. All hw is on Connect and he is accessible outside of class. Tests were hard if you did not understand the concept. He allowed 1 page cheat sheets for tests.

I highly recommend him. Do not listen to the comments that its too much work; you have to understand youre taking an economics class. Dont leave everything last minute, do the work, & youre guaranteed to do great on his tests. He knows how to explain very complicated topics. He is very caring and will help you in any way that he could.

A great professor. i don't like Econ so, didn't pay attention as much. He curves all quizzes/exams. overall class is easy tbh. out of 5 quizzes he drops lowest grade. gives a curve for the final grade at the end of semester. Only bad thing quiz/exams on Respondus with camera on. Other than that Definitely recommend takin him.

Macro 101 with him is not an easy pass. I didnt pay attention in class but I watched the videos, read the textbook, and for his quizzes do the CONNECT assignments. Those are very similar to quiz questions in style. Watch his review videos. But hes right, you need to give in 7-10 hours a week to do well in his class. I learned a lot.

I took him for Fall 2021 and I honestly have no regrets. Im taking him again for Macro! You have every opportunity to do well in this class because he always posts his lecture videos and review questions for the tests. The material on the test will appear difficult if you dont make the time for his class. I highly recommend! Great Professor

Honestly, I paid attention and learned a lot in this class. He's super caring and wants everyone to learn something and do well. The only thing that sucks is the quizzes/exams are through lockdown browser. That brought my average down but it isn't bad, just pay attention during lectures and do the work. He offers extra credit if you pass the exams.

Professor Federman was the best professor i have had so far. He is very understanding and cares about the material and his students. prob the most organized professor at msu, answers most emails. SPENDs alot of time making review notes. He is truly amazing. If you dont do well its completely on you, he does so much to make sure you pass!

Federman is a great professor. Without prior knowledge in econ his class can be a little difficult, but if you pay attention during class and do the homework you should be fine. Fair grading, and if you put in the work you will do well. Would highly reccomend.

At first, I was completely overwhelmed by this class, but now I actually like it. Yes, you have to study, but it doesn't always have to be 7 plus hours like he says. From my experience, if you know the material you'll do well. our lectures were once a week and he is a very good teacher, I learned a lot in this class.

Absolutely loved this professor. Took his class online over the summer in 2021 and it was a lot of work, but definitely a great class. You learn so much, take him!

One of the best professors I have ever taken. He really cares about his students and will go above and beyond to make sure they pass. He organizes the class so well and everything is easy to find. He will explain things over and over and over again without losing patience until students understand. An A isn't hard in this class if you study well.

Microeconomics isn't the easiest class, but if you have to take it then go with Professor Federman. The exams aren't easy but if you do his practice questions and take good notes then you'll be fine. You have to buy the textbook in order to do the homework. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! Your grade can go up an entire letter grade and it's easy.

took him for micro and he was always very understanding with explanations. he does prefer if student attend his class since he sometimes gives out little participation survey/quiz in class. most of his slides are posted and everything is very organized, and it's an easy A as long as you do the HWs and study for the exams!

He is not bad, but his lectors are heavy material. He explains very well and is very funny. But I feel like it was so much material at once. His quizzes and final are heavy, but he gives a lot of reviews which is good! He curves and does give extra credit. I wouldn't take him again but I promise he is NOT bad. Just be prepared and study!!

I really loved Prof Federman! His quizzes/tests are pretty hard, but he grades on a curve. If you take him hybrid I recommend that your other courses are light. The class is very hw heavy, with multiple things due every Sunday. Quizzes almost every other Sunday, but he allows a cheat sheet for every quiz:)

Prof. Federman is an excellent professor!! I found his class challenging because I am not a business major, but he did make the course material accessible to everyone. There is a lot of homework and tests, but he also offers extra credit. There are bulk assignments due every Sunday along with 12 writing assignments and 5 quizzes before the final.

hes a nice and funny man, but damn those exams and quizzes were hard. If you dont study you wont pass, the one good thing is that he allows a 1 page study sheet for the exams.

He's a really good professor, he gives a lot of extra credit and as long as you pay attention you'll be fine. His class is very interactive so pay attention because he will call on you. But workwise he gives a lot of work that is all due on sunday. But if you get it done it's really not that much.

His class is hard because it is economics, but he is an amazing prof! Lots of extra credit opportunities and quizzes/finals you can have a cheat sheet! Just be ready for the workload but if you pay attention and put in the work you will be just fine!

I enjoyed Professor Federman's teaching style, he includes interactive power points and lot's of examples to help relate content.

Professor Federman is an excellent teacher and is a credit to the institution. I would definitely take his class again given the opportunity. However, it's crucial to invest effort; Prof. Federman reciprocates commitment with support. Despite grappling with certain concepts and my demanding semester course load, his guidance proved invaluable.

greatest prof i've ever had before. he breaks down economics so easily. he's a funny and caring man. i really enjoyed his class. participation matters bc he'll remember u and maybe he'll help u out on a question on a quiz if ur having trouble. he KNOWS what he's talking about, but you have to put in effort !!!

I took this prof. years ago when he had mostly bad reviews. I am no longer at MSU but I'm happy he's getting the recognition he deserves. If you take his class and think you can sit in the back and watch movies you're wrong!! Pay attention, he practically spoon feeds info! I color coded my spreadsheets. Easiest A of any stats class. Take him!!

Prof. Federman's class is challenging but manageable. The workload is heavy, but he offers plenty of extra credit opportunities. Using unstuck study and the textbook can really help with exam prep.

Honestly, I thought I was bad at economics because of another professor I took for macroeconomics but turns out it's the way they teach. Prof. Federman is a great professor, he knows what he is talking about and uses real life examples that it makes it easier to understand. He gives a lot of extra credit and lets you use a study sheet for quizzes.

Decent amount of homework, but gave extra time if needed. Very caring and did not really mind attendance. Understandable and quizzes are locked. Overall great professor and cared about how you did and taught very well

I'm rating Prof. Federman because I truly miss his classes! He's one of the best professors you'll have—you'll regret choosing someone else. If possible, take his ECON 101 & 102 courses. His classes fill up quickly, so be sure to prioritize them when planning your schedule.

Professor Federman is a great guy. Provides funny and engaging lectures. The class content is complicated and does require lots of studying outside of class.

The best professor I've had at MSU. Explains economics in an understanding and fun manner. Try not to use AI or Google because you'll understand way more just by paying attention for an hour. Very funny and likes to interact with students and wants to see them understand the material and pass! Would take him again for sure.

BEST TEACHER EVERRRR. I'm a freshman and got lucky to get him my first semester. He really is fantastic. MAKE SURE YOU PARTICIPATE!!!!
