I do not know why some students do not like him,maybe just because he is too nice to everyone.I think he is a good professor by looking at how he explains the material.I never thought that geography is easy or fun,but I liked his class.He drops students' lowest scores.his problem is:being too nice.

This class is actually too easy. Easy "A" but that does not mean you don't learn anything. He explains everything so well, so clearly. I was immediately able to start applying what I learned. Very awesome instructor, super nice, very approachable! I dreaded geography going in, loved it going out!

One of the best teachers I've had. He's pretty easy, but that's not a knock against him. He will go over everything, and he will take time out after class to answer any question you have. He's also very fun, so you're not bored to death. I don't see how anyone could fail his class.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS TEACHER! He made everything lecture so engaging and so comprehensible. He constantly repeats portions of his lectures to ensure good memory recall. His test, although long, as easy. I never open the book once, just paid attention, and got 113% in the class lol. I wish all teachers had his enthusiasm and teaching skills.

awesome teacher!! i took him for geo 100 and now for geo lab 111. he is super helpful and totally willing to work with you. always is a great mood which makes going to a 6-9pm class not so horrible!!! content isn't "easy" but doable if you pay attention! awesome teacher, take him for sure!!! =)

I really enjoyed this class. The professor is always positive and friendly. All the exams were open book/notes or take home and he was great about making sure we knew the material. He did spend too much time going over the last lesson at the beginning of each class, but other than that he was great.

One of the coolest teachers i ever had. He's nice and he's funny. Some exams were take-home. He'll help you with your questions. He goes over things many times but its alright, its not even boring. Take him and you'll be glad =]

Incredible teacher! He's hilarious and makes learning fun. The tests are extremely easy because of the clarity of his lectures. He repeats material a lot and sometimes spend too much time on a lesson, but all this pays off in the end. He does it so you can retain the information for each exam. Recommend this class! Heibel is an excellent professor. His upbeat attitude and wonderful charisma make the class 10x better. He is very clear and all his exams and projects are easy. If u pay attention in class and study you are sure to receive an A or B. If you take him you wont regret it.

One of the best teachers ive had sinc being in college. Very helpful and makes the class so interesting. Will let you make up test and turn in homework if late. Attendance helps for test because he gives alot abt 2/3 of answers in class HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Very knowledgeable and always excited to teach. Love his attitute and sense of humor. I thought his exercises were a lot of work but not hard very doable. All you have to do is organize your time and it will be fine. I would defintely take his class again.

Easy class. Just turn in the homework and do well on tests and the class will be an easy A or B. I also recommend Ms. Hidalgo since I took her for lab and all students have to do in her class is turn in the labs and do well on the tests which are easy for another easy A or B.

Best prof ever! He enjoys making jokes during lectures. Does run over class time usually. Homework is pretty easy. Gives lots of extra credit. 1 page notes on tests allowed. Always tries to help students do well & cares about them succeeding. Students that choose to skip class often are 1s that fail his class. They put little to no effort into it.

Mr. Heibel is a great professor. He is very easy- going and is passionate about the suject he teaches. Now Heibel offers alot of chances for extra-credit. Dr. Heibel is an amazing professor with so much energy keeping you awake in lecture! He is passionate about what he teaches and is willing to help any student out. He will let you know about extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Due expect to work hard since his test are LONG, but they are manageable. I highly recommend him :)

Likes to take field trips ,and he is pretty funny. If I could I would take him again his classes are pretty fun and some what easy.

My only disappointment was that he actually does all the work for you. Wait long enough and he goes over every answer... Even during the test( if it's open book) there's absolutely no challenge, don't study and there's still a high chance you'll get an A.

Best teacher I have ever had a Valley hands down! I also took his lab class amazing! And the rock punts he does is hilarious! Wish he taught more then just Geo classes I ended up getting an A+ in both leg and lab

He is awesome professor her 3 thing why he awesome: 1) his lab he explain everything and put you in group why? becase it easy for him also he explain it until you get it. 2)He gives lots of example and sometimes jokes that are funny. 3) You don't know ask him he wont get and no question are stupid or dumb. No he answers every all question.

He is a nice professor and silly for sure. His test have many questions but you are allowed to make a page of notes for finals and test. so that's a plus. He is a little unorganized he lost 2 assignments which I had to redo. He talks most of the class.

He is an awesome professor !! There are 3 lab quizzes which are easy plus lets you use all lab work you do. He likes to talk a lot so just be prepare to listen to him. You really don't need to buy the book (which is only $23 i think) but you can go to him to make copies or go to the library. We went to a field trip which was awesome.

Prof. Heibel is an amazing instructor He genuinely cares about your success in the his class and in your entire college education. He's a little scatter brained he takes up a lot of time explaining "what we're going to learn/do" instead of just doing it, but he gives you all the answers to assignments and test questions. Probably one of the most lively, funniest instructors I ever had. He has a way of making boring material sound interesting. Tests are take home so you can google all of the answers. You have to be pretty dumb to make anything less than an A.

Heibel is a really great and genuine professor, he truly cares for his student's success in the class. He talks A LOT, which honestly was a bit too much for me as an introvert and for an 8 am class. His exams are not difficult at all, but there are a lot of questions to be answered - quizzes were usually 30-40 questions and test/exams 60-85.

Hes the sweetest guy ever. Easy to approach and talk to which is nice especially when things are online right now. Tests arent hard everything can be found in notes or google. Lol do you work and you shouldnt have trouble passing.

He was very nice and extremely helpful in these crazy times. The "textbook" he used was online textbooks so students don't have to pay. Very reachable outside of class. Rely on the notes for tests but even if you don't want to take notes, there are three tries on tests so it was pretty easy.

Phenomenal professor, you can tell he loves his job. His lecture almost always goes over on time but he is quick grader and gives students a lot of resources for different styles of learning. I have never had a professor who will go out of his way to make sure students understand the material. Great professor. Highly recommend even online.

Easy class, you are able to take the quizzes 3 times to get the best grade possible. There are a lot of questions on the quizzes, but all the information is right there in front of you, just read the chapters and this class is an easy A. He also does have extra credit available which was a plus. Finished with a 102.

This class had optional meetings on Mondays. Free online textbooks were provided. Professor Heibel is really nice and has positive attitude. There are group discussions, quizzes, and weekly assignments. This class is definitely passable. Because of how great the Professor is, I took another class of his last semester.

I did horrible at college and only passed a few classes. I took 3 classes with Professor Heibel and passed them all with As. He's is amazing, caring, and understanding and super easy going. His field trips are really fun. You need to take him if you're doing anything with geography you won't regret it.

I took Professor Heibel's class in summer of 2024. He genuinely is an amazing professor, loves this job and geology in general. He answers any questions in and outside of class and like the previous reviews, he still does his best to go on field trips. As long as you don't procrastinate, you'll be able to pass his class with ease.

One of the best professors at SBVC! Easy coursework, engaging lectures, and fair grading. Lots of extra credit and even field trips. Assignments have weeks to complete with multiple attempts. Attendance is key missing class drops your grade fast. In hybrid courses, join via Zoom to stay marked present. Too easy of a class to fail!

I took his 5-week summer GEOG 111 lab course, and he is pretty easy! Each week includes two lab quizzes and a fun, easy discussion! The lab quizzes look intimidating, but watching his lecture videos will help A LOT! Discussions require only 3-5 sentences with 1 peer reply. Very fair and easy grader and provides kind feedback. TAKE HIS CLASS!

This class was super easy. He provides video lectures, which you must watch to complete quizzes and labs. There is definitely a lot of work, but the videos are very helpful. I took the class for the summer and finished all my work in two weeks. He grades stuff on time and ahead of time. Overall, he is awesome.
