Mr. Huffman is a fantastic teacher. He was very fun in class and truly understands students needs. He made my fear of speaking go away and taught me a lot about the subject. HCC could use more teachers like him. This guy deserves a raise!

He makes speech class as it should be: easy. Show up, put some effort in, and you'll get an A. Some other teachers expect way too much out of a speech class. The point is to practice, and he provides plenty of practice with speeches and fun improv sessions. There's no reason to take any other teacher unless it conflicts with your schedule.

Huffdaddy is the most legit teacher I have ever had. As long as you show up and actually speak in front of the class when you are required you will get a guaranteed A.

Very easy class. 3-4 speeches all semester. No homework. Educational value was nill, a waste of time, but if you are just looking for an easy A, this class is for you.

Huffdaddy is the bomb! Only three grades were expository, persuasive, and narrative speeches. Often random impromptu speech madness. Never opened textbook. How spontaneous and fun I imagine all college profs should be. Only fear is that he may use you in one of his "don't do your speech like this" stories some day! Best prof I had at HCC!

Mr. Huffman makes Speech very interesting. There were 3-4 speeches for the semester along with some impromptu speeches to acclimate students to speaking in front of others. If your looking for a speech teacher, Huff Daddy is the MAN!

I was terrified to take the course because I absolutely hate speaking in public but professor Huffman made it enjoyable. I'm much more comfortable now speaking in front of a class. I definitely recommend taking him. He really makes the class fun and goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable speaking in front of the class.

English is my second language, so I did not want to take public speaking. However, a friend of mind strongly recommended Mr.Huffman. I loved the class.Two times a week for two month. 3 short speech (no grade) & 3 presentation(grade) plus quiz from the text (not much) It was quick and fun. This class gives you more confidence.

Huff is AWESOME. Did not look forward to this class one bit, but he has made it SO easy! I'm still taking it, but so far we've only had 1 quiz and 2 graded speeches. Both speeches were pretty basic and he didn't require anything really specific. His main goal is simply to make you more COMFORTABLE when speaking publicly...and he does!

If you're going to take this class, get it with Huffdaddy. He's a really relaxed guy, and it reflects in his class. He will be real with you, and try his hardest to help you pass. Very easy, very fun class.

Beyond easy! My class used the textbook once for a quiz. Gave one actual homework assignment. Towards the end of the 8 weeks class started ending earlier but well worth the time we spent in there. VERY cool ice breakers and makes talking in front of people really easy!

Honestly the best pub. speaking teacher you can get. He is so funny and his class is a blast. Ugh, who says blast anymore. Huff is awesome! You have to participate in the impromptu speeches. Three big speeches, last one counts as your final exam and is worth 40% of your grade. Attendance is mandatory as well, if you miss enough classes he will drop a letter grade or have you drop the class. He really wants everyone to succeed. Very funny, worth the 8a class time!

Very quick to respond to email. Interesting assignments. Assigns 3 speeches (About Me, Informative, Persuasive). Make sure you will have a least 5 people to listen to your speeches and have some kind of video camera. There are no make ups for speeches. No midterm/final. Must do discussions every week and read textbook. Follow assignment schedule!

I was afraid to take Public Speaking, but Dr. Huffman is the perfect teacher for the class. He responds quickly to questions via email. He is an easy-going teacher who wants his students to succeed. He is willing to work with you when you have problems. I took the online class. There were 3 speeches. There are chapter readings, quizzes and essays.

Professor Huffman is awesome. I drove from the Tampa area just to take his class and it was well worth it. You'll need the book for his take home quizzes but there's a copy in the library, so save your money and used that. Follow the directions on his rubric, and for the love of god use powerpoint. Don't go up there with just notecards.

The work load isn't bad, but I found that there were a couple of weeks in which he assigned a lot of work. 3 speeches you must record in front of a minimum of 5 people. Weekly discussion boards, and quizzes. He gives good feedback and his grading is very lenient. He also accepts late work up to a week after it was due.

Prof Hoffman is definitely a guy that you know is there for your long term benefit. He will do whatever is necessary to help you pass. If you follow his terms, and syllabus, it is easy sailing.

Professor Huffman is a true public speaker that wants to enhance students abilities to do so. There are a lot of assignments but they are placed in certain weeks to help succeed. DO NOT take this class online if you do not have at least four people for speeches or you will fail.

Professor Huffman is very hilarious and makes class very enjoyable. The 2 quizzes we were given were both "take-home" and consisted of textbook reference and general opinion. The grading criteria was basic and he grades mostly on completion, rather than content. Most impromptu speech assignments were given advanced notice.

If you're looking for an easy A I would definitely reccomend taking him for public speaking. I'm not really nervous about public speaking, but he was very understanding to students who were nervous. I loved this class! He's very easy to get to know, and very easygoing. The public speaking book is only really required for the first few classes, but after that it becomes obsolete. Took his class online and was truly the best decision I made each week there are 3-4 assignments- very easy. Book isn't very necessary. Just do your research for quizzes, if you know what I mean ;) Discussions are weekly and as long as you do what he asks you will get a 100 Lastly there are 3 speeches, he does grade a bit harsh on it but an easy A

Professor Huffman provided clear guidelines and feedback on the assignments. I took this as an online course, and your speech needs to be filmed in front of adults and posted to YouTube. You have a week to prepare/submit/respond during the week of the speeches. Great professor, and would take this class again. I learned more than I though I would.

Huffman's grading criteria and expectations are clear. Note: you are required to have an audience of 4 people, but I suggest have an extra person to do the recording. Overall, I performed 3 speeches. You must participate in online discussions. Also, the online textbook is required. The quizzes aren't so difficult

I recommend him to anyone taking public speaking! As this class is nerve-racking enough, Prof Huffman does his best to make it pain-free. He doesn't give out homework other than preparing for your speeches and the take-home quizzes. Don't really need the book to pass the class but its helpful. He wants you to succeed!

The guy is the best. Point blank. We had 3 major speeches and he walked us through the process that the whole class was a piece of cake. I had an 8am to 9:15am class but we literally finished the class by 8:40 so I enjoyed that. We even finished the whole course early by a couple classes. Easiest class ever.

Discussion every week, writing assignment(easy), Intro, Informative, and persuasive speech. Quizzes are online and you can literally find the answers right away if you know what I mean. Challenging but worth it at the end. He seems really laid back. If I would take this class again, I would.

I learned a lot in this class. Prof. Huffman is great. The class assignments are well organized with clear criteria. You can't really skip ahead because the assignments are locked. However, the syllabus lists the speech criteria. Graded on HW, discussions, few short assignments, and 3 easy speeches that require an audience of 4 adults.

Professor Huffman was amazing, everyone is scared of public speaking but he makes it so comfortable. Definitely, recommend!

This was a great experience! There's no way I was looking forward to taking this class, but Prof. Huffman really made it fun, enjoyable, and I really did learn a lot. I am a much better and more confident public speaker as a result of taking this class. He is easily the one to take if you need this class. Prof. Huffman is awesome!

Proffesor Huffman was awesome! I always enjoyed his class. Extremely easy, all you have to do is show up and be prepared for speeches. It was a really fun environment and his grading criteria was easy to understand and easy to pass. You will need the book for the two homework assignments he requires.

Straight up, Prof. Huffman and his class were outstanding. He teaches you how to be a good public speaker. I was really dreding this class and waited to take it in my last semester. He is very passionate, funny, and actually wants to see you succeed. I am someone who is notvery easily impressed, but he is hands down the perosn to take!

I came to class ready to drop it. Seriously I did! But not 10 minutes into the class Prof. Huffman won me over. This guy really knows his stuff, cares about his students, and makes learning fun! A must take for anyone who needs this class.

Fantastic class! Professor Huffman really has fun with what he does and it shows. He really works with you and is very supportive. I was really intimidated about speaking in public, but the way he has structured the class, really worked for me. Our class was really sad when it ended! He's one of the best teachers at HCC by far. I love Professor Todd! Took his class online and only had 3 speeches, a few written assignments, quizzes and discussions. He gives clear feedback on assignments and grades them pretty quickly. If you're taking this online take his class!!!!!

Professor Huffman class was really great! He helped to make me a much more confident public speaker, by helping me address my anxiety, embrace it, and actually taught me how to make it work for me as a speaker. I highly recommend taking his class. He's the best!

Public speaking is tough for a lot of people. Professor Huffman creates a comfortable classroom environment for a not so comfortable task like public speaking. He cares about how you do. He gives ample opportunity with practice speeches to get your nerves under control. He gives great feedback and encouragement. I only wish he taught more classes.

This was a dreaded required class, which Prof. Huffman made painless and smooth. He gave great feedback and thorough instruction. There was plenty of work throughout the semester, however, as long as the work was completed and you participate in the discussions you shouldn't have a problem performing well.

Awesome! Genuinely cares about your grades and pretty much allows you to decide what you want to give your speech on. The only homework you really get is to write your speech, but he usually gives you time in class. There is an occasional take home quiz and they are easy to understand.

I can't say enough good things about Professor Huffman! He really wants you to pass the class and cares. Every speech has to be in a certain time limit so make sure you meet that and he loves presentations. There are 3 major speeches (you choose your own topic for all) and you get a lot of preparation time. He is funny and makes class enjoyable.

Professor Huffman responds quickly. I normally had 1-2 quizzes and a discussion every week plus researching my topics. There seem to be a lot to do each week because of the summer schedule but I highly recommend working on your main speeches early. I was nervous about this class at the beginning but I'm so glad I took it with Professor Huffman.

I'm just going to say this, Huff-Daddy's class is the best! He does such a great job of making me and others in the class feel confident and supported the whole semester. He answered my questions in a timely fashion, really knows his stuff, and I really liked his teaching style. If you need to take Public Speaking, he's the one to take.

Everyone told me for years to take public speaking with Professor Huffman and I can totally see why. The class is well organized, clear, and the feedback he gives you helps you improve a lot. If you have to take public speaking, you should take if with Huffman, he's great!

Took this class online because of covid. It was a breeze. Had to record four speeches and they were graded fairly. Quizzes were easy. He was a good grader. Would recommend. Did not need an audience for my videos because of covid and social distancing.

I never thought I would ever say this about a speech class, but Prof. Huffman organized it so well that I learned a lot and really did get better as a speaker. He makes learning fun and gives great feedback. I would highly recommend taking this class by far. He's fair, responds back to email questions very quickly, and wants you to do well.

I am so glad I took this class from Professor Huffman. He was recommended to me from a friend of mine who took the course and I must say, as nervous as I was, he made online learning very fun and pretty much, stress free. I learned a lot and gained so much self-confidence by the end of the course. I can see why he comes so highly recommended.

Public Speaking was not for me, but I had to take it. I waited until the last possible moment to take it and I can't believe I did after taking Professor Huffman. This class was fun, engaging, and get this, he actually cared about me and the work that I did. He's fantastic! I'm so glad I took it with him. I only wish that he taught other classes.

I really enjoyed taking this class and for all that it did to help make me feel more confident as a speaker. This course was well organized, user friendly, gives great feedback, very encouraging, supportive, and fair. If you need to take public speaking, take it from Huffman.

Overall very reasonable workload. Roughly 3 things to do a week. A quiz, an assignment, and a discussion post. There was only 3 speeches and they were graded normally. The quizzes are easy if you read the chapter but if you don't they will make or break your grade.

This guy came highly recommended and I can see why. The course is very well laid out, he always answered questions quickly, and the assignments actually help to make you a better speaker. I hate Public Speaking, but I am so grateful to Prof. Huffman for all that he did for me. Take him hands down!

Prof. Huffman is an amazing person who makes public speaking less stressful. He built my confidence through the roof and provided me with great suggestions that helped me become a more confident and effective speaker. My only regret is that this course had to end. Loved Huffman! Gave fantastic feedback, very much motivated me to speak. I get super anxious and I was able to relax and just speak clearly and calmly. Super funny and chill. You'll only need the textbook for tips and two quizzes. Would take again!

Like a lot of people, I feared having to take public speaking and kept putting it off until I had to. After taking Prof. Huffman's course, I couldn't believe how quickly I was able to face and overcome that fear for the most part. He's really excellent and cared about me. One of the best classes I have taken at HCC. I recommend him hands down.

Prof. Huffman made public speaking so manageable and less anxiety producing. He took what little skills I had going into the semester and built my self confidence up to the point that not only did I improve greatly, I was sad this class was ending when it did. Prof. Huffman is clearly the person to take for Public Speaking hands down

Professor Huffman makes you work hard on the speeches, but he makes you never feel alone during the course. Professor Huffman was highly professional and caring. After each speech, he provided long detailed feedback, so pay special attention here and record those things to improve and put them into practice for the next speech.

Professor Huffman is a decent teacher but he follows his syllabus to a T. When he says that he doesn't accept late work, HE MEANS HE DOESN'T EXCEPT LATE WORK. Like no matter the reason and no matter the proof you may have of why your work is late. If you stay up on your assignments and do the work, you will pass his class.

Professor Hoffman was a great teacher we only had to do 4 speeches. He was not a hard grader on your videos and we did not have to have a audience do to the pandemic. Great teacher I highly recommend.

What else can I say, accept, this class was great! Prof. Huffman really works hard to make you feel as comfortable and at ease with public speaking as he can. For my first semester at HCC, Prof. Huffman was definitely the best professor I've had this semester. He generally seems really encouraging and helpful if I had any questions regarding a certain assignment. Overall his class was pretty easy and it was the one class I genuinely enjoyed this semester.

I was terrified of taking this course, but it is not so bad since you do not need an audience. 18 Quizzes from the book (Quizlet), 10 Discussions, 8 Writing Assignments, 4 Speeches+Outline+Sources. Sample speech (30sec-1min), Formal Introduction (3-4min), Informative Speech (4-6min), Persuasive Action Speech (5-7min). Just do it. He's super nice!

Anyone who needs to take Public Speaking should take Professor Huffman's class. He really knows his stuff. He makes you feel confident and encourages you along the way. I really feared this class until I took this one. Hands down, one of the best classes I have ever taken at HCC or any where else for that matter. I was actually sad when it ended.

Mr. Huffman is wonderful. If you submit your speech about three days before the due date, he will give you feedback on what you could change to get 100%. He is extremely encouraging and always finds a way to be friendly, even if there is something you could change. He is very inspirational. Plus, he doesn't make us have an audience.

Reading some of these comments about how bad this guy is, I have to seriously laugh. Professor Huffman not only cares about students, but he is clear from day one about his attendance and not late work rule. It's even posted in like 5 different places. Taking an in-class public speaking course you should show up to it. I loved this class.

All I have to say is that after reading the 180 plus reviews of this Professor I can honestly say that this was one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. He is clear and upfront with you from day one and if you work with him, he will work with you. I learned so much in a course I dreaded taking. If you need to take it, he is the obvious choice.

The course is a bit more difficult considering speech-making isn't as common of a class however, there are only 3 speeches throughout the course. There's sources in the textbook and example outlines that make writing the speeches pretty simple. My only issue is that I wasn't given feedback on one of my speeches, so I don't know what I did wrong.

Good professor that provides meaningful feedback on your speeches. Your speeches count for most of your grade, but if you practice and have a solid outline it should be easy. There are lots of quizzes so be ready to have readings every week. Overall, this is a pretty straightforward class.

Even though the work at first can make a non public speaker tense like myself, afterwards once you get the hang of things, the rest of the work somewhat becomes easier. You still gotta practice when and where you can for future improvement in this class though, and it's great for getting young people out of their shells and speaking proudly.

Mr. Huffman is a great professor. He always brought a smile to my face every day I showed up to his lectures. The public speaking class I took was quite easy and didn't require too much time dedicated to the class. I really enjoyed him and would take another class of his 100%.

Professor Huffman is good at what he does. I took an early class that was kind of dead but he always found a way to make it interesting. He is very kind and understanding, if at any point in the semester there is a problem just reach out to him and he is likely to try and help. The class is pretty easy if you do your work and participate.

Professor Huffman is a caring instructor who provides valuable feedback. The public speaking course had only 3 speeches, making it manageable. While grading can be slow, the textbook and examples make speeches straightforward. unstuck study was a helpful study tool alongside the course materials.

He was very interesting and engaging; in most classes, it just felt like he was conversing with us. There were only 3 official speeches, but pretty much every day there was a mini-speaking activity that we worked on in groups. He made everyone comfortable speaking in front of the class. Attendance and participation was required.

The course work is relatively straightforward. Complete work on time, it's not difficult but will require some critical thinking and preparation. A fair professor, grades based on completion and effort, not graded on being the perfect public speaker.

Prof Huffman has been an incredible teacher all through the year. He gives clear feedback and supports students all along the way. He never fails to motivate the class by leaving kind messages paired with how to improve your work when grading assignments.

This class was mostly online quizzes and discussion posts with 2 speeches. He was an easy grader and gave good feedback. I felt like even on my worst speeches, he was still very kind about my grade and told me what areas I could work on in a very constructive way.

Despite not being a good public speaker, he provides you with all the resources to succeed. The speeches are worth a big part of your grade and are mandatory!!! If you don't think you are a good public speaker, don't fret!!! Just complete all your work and you will be okay!!!

Professor Huffman made this class really easy, the instructions are very clear and he is good at giving feedback and telling you where you need to improve. There is 4 speeches, and one, sometimes 2 quizzes each week. The quizzes are super easy just read the assigned chapter and you'll do great.

He is a pretty good professor. Easy quizzes, easy discussions, and easy written assignments. Only issue is the speeches. He actually sits through and watches them, pretty annoying when theyre worth like 50% of your grade. Dont expect easy 100s on the speeches, actually try on those if you want an A.

Professor Todd Huffman is a great professor. The class was easy to take as long as you did the work. Provided great feedback and responded in a timely manner when any questions or concerns are needed. I would take this professor again & again if I had too.

Awesome amazing teacher highly highly reccomend. Especially as public speaking is a general education requirement for most, this guy is awesome and truly cares about hsi students and their projects. There is alot of speeches but theyre easy and honestly entertaining. You will meet lots of interesting people as well and he is just an amazing teacher
