I think everyone enjoyed this class. Teacher was postive, motivating, and helpful. He responded to emails in a timely fashion. I would recommend you take his class. He wants his student to be successful. Delgado should consider him full time- he is one of the best that they have had in the "biology dept" in some time.

Mr. Hymel is an excellent teacher! He is extremely dynamic and keeps your interest up. He is clearly passionate about the subject and it's hard not to swept up in his enthusiasm. I would definitely encourage people to take his class.

He was really easy. Just study for the tests and you'll do fine. also pay attention to the worksheets he gives out before the tests. most of the questions from it are on the test.

His enthusiasm for the subject is contagious. His Louisiana Wetland Ecology class was the most enjoyable - and also the most challenging - of any I took at Delgado. He takes you on the most field trips too!

My Hymel is a great professor and he is very enthusiastic. I struggled through his entire course but he took alot of one on one time with me and I was able to pass his course. He is an incredible teacher and also funny as well. Overall I would give him a 9/10 rating.

Hymel is by far the best professor of my college career so far. I have no interest in biology and he is such a good teacher he makes you love the subject. If you're doing bad in the class he is extremely helpful as long as you come to class. He gives bonus points on the tests as well as a practice test (and most of the Q's come from the test)

I took Mr. Hymel's Biology 1 & 2 Lecture & Lab @ Delgado's Westbank campus. He is by far the BEST (my opinion) Bio instructor there, and Not because he gives study guides or allows you to improve your grade by doing extra credit assignments. He actually cares for his students in learning the material and getting a Great grade. TAKE HYMEL!!!

i love mr. Hymel took him for bio 141& 143, AMAZING! if you go to class and pay attention you will pass, you don't even have to crack open a textbook. He cares about his students and what he teaches.I would take him again in a heartbeat if i could.

Hymel is a great instructor. He knows what he's talking about. If you need help or don't understand something he's happy to help. He is tough, you should not skip class, and you have to work hard. Definitely not an easy A but worth it in the end. must be motivated to ace this class.

Mr. Hymel is the best biology professor Ive ever had! He makes lectures very easy to understand and doesnt just read off a PowerPoint or textbook. He is very intelligent and up to date in the science world. You can tell he loves his job and treats everyone fairly. Would highly recommend!

Mr. Hymel is GREAT! Going into this class I was so nervous and didn't know what to expect. However, everything is laid out for you in his lectures. Show up, pay attention, copy what he writes on the board, study a couple hours a week and you'll pass! He is so funny and entertaining. I actually look forward to going to class!

His lectures are NOT the test. He is kind of all over the place when it comes to him applying the notes on the board. Half of the stuff he taught was not on the tests. We also had no assignments except SmartBooks for each chapter so your grade mainly relies on the few test you take. Very kind, and funny teacher tho!

Professor Hymel is great! He lectures ALOT and is quite the jokester which helps makes the class more interesting. If you attend class, PAY ATTENTION, and do your smartbooks you will be just fine. He always provides a study guide before the test and he adds on bonus questions.

I was lucky to have him before it became mandatory for test to be short answer only for biology major courses. If you have him for lecture I highly recommend having him for lab as well. I couldve done better had I did more studying. Attendance is a must and he hates excessive tardiness. Goes over study guides with class as well. Id take him again.
