Logic can be a confusing class to a lot of students. Dr. Yanke is a good teacher that makes the class entertaining. The only grades are test and Listserve grades. If you listen in class and do your listseve every weekend you should have no problem getting atleast a B or even an A. Man I tell you what, take this class! =)

Dr. Janke was an amazing teacher. I took this class online and was having a lot of trouble with it, any time we needed a special study session he was there. Without him taking that time out I would have failed this class and learned nothing. He is VERY easy to understand and manages to make the hardest topics easy to understand.

This class was amazing. I have taken many instructors, Dr. Janke is exceptional. You gotta read, and you have to participate. Your mind will open and your eyes will see things from a different focus. This class is greattttttttt.

At first I was apprehensive about taking philosophy. Even though a couple of the readings may be a little challenging, he is a great teacher and won't keep you bored in class. He has a HUGE sense of humor. Some of his jokes may be a little lame and questionable, but you may find yourself laughing at some of his comments. Great guy.

Really great teacher, fun person too. My only complaint is how he handles homework. He has the class send their homework to the listserv so classmates can comment and critique it, I don't like that, and I really don't like the 700 emails in my mailbox for this one class.

I took Dr. Janke's Critical Thinking course. I wish every instructor was like him!! He is so much fun, and makes learning fun. He really has a way of making the material easy and understandable. The key is participation. If you don't participate you will fail or get a low grade. Even if you are wrong speak up!

I loved his Critical Thinking class. I had tried to take the class before with another instructor, but Dr. Janke made everything so easy to understand. He is a great teacher and enjoys what he does. I enjoyed it so much that I signed up to take his Modern Philosophy class next semester. I would definitely recommend him to everyone!

The subject matter is EXTREMELY difficult but he does his best to make it understandable. Expect to read a lot of difficult material and do journals daily. Funniest professor I've had in a while and extremely nice. Just show up and try and you'll get a good grade, you even get to argue about what grade you deserve.

Dr. Janke is the best, please don't take any other professor for philosophy, with him there are no right or wrong answers, his class is very laid back. Get tape recorder, record the lectures, do your journals, respond to your classmates, and you will be just fine.

I took Dr. Janke for Critical Thinking and Intro to World Philosophy & there is no other! I have now transfered to another school and I use what I have learned in my other classes. He is witty and fun! I recommend him to all!

Janke is the BEST professor I have yet to take at Clayton. I took Critical Thinking my 1st semester but had to drop it at mid term because McElroy was HORRIBLE. But I took it with Janke and kinda fell in love with the subject. He makes the material fool proof and if you dont get it, he takes his time to mak sure you understand by the end of class.

The Doc Rocks. I could listen to him talk about paint dry for 6 hours at a time. He is just amazing. Its obvious he loves what he does. Fantastic instructor. If you don't take his classes, you are def missing out.

Funny guy. Cute...kinda. Will explain repeatedly, using funny examples to help you remember. Gives lots of practice quizzes (not for grade). The 2 papers you have to do are super easy.

This class is hard, but Dr. Janke is such a good professor that he makes it a bit easier to follow. I am not a philosophy major so that might be why it's so difficult. Make sure you read, do the postings, and come to class every time it meets. If you miss a day you'll probably be lost! But he will clarify anything you are unsure of.

If it doesnt make sense at first, he will break it down until it does. Trust me it takes a lot of breaking down but it was worth it. Book is a must have to study and review the material

His class was pretty fun, lectures were pretty funny, and he is a really laid back guy. The tests are easy! true/false, and matching which is convenient for you, especially since you can justify why you chose the answer you did. You'll have to read if you don't go to class, but going to class is fun, so go anyways.

Janke is hilarious, very chill, and LOVES to make your life simple. Alot of the terms in critical thinking were hard to understand, but his explanations just made it alot easier to process. You can definitely get an A in his class, but you have to pay attention! homework? not much. Tests? study, go to class, and you'll do fine.

I took his philosophy class because after seeing the ratings, he seemed like he'd be easy. If you're not interested in philosophy and want an A, then this class will be difficult. I did every of his readings/homework and attended every single class on time, but I still got a B. I made 80+ on his tests. I don't think he gives extra credit.

My favorite professor I have had. Attendance is necessary, but if you come to class and take notes you will make an A no problem. He gives you a study guide and goes over it at the reviews. If you just show up you will have no problem. Lectures are enjoyable. I thought I would hate this class but ended up loving it.

Janke was by far one of my best professors at Clayton State. We had a night class and sometimes it was very hard for me to get myself to go but I would never regret going. He's so funny and he really takes the time to explain the concepts to you. He goes over things and doesn't leave people behind. Take notes and listen and you'll be good.

The class is basically him explaining the reading to the class in more detail and us asking whatever questions we have. He's a passionate professor and loves what he does; take him!

All we really do are the discussion posts and the exams. His class is super easy. Yes, you may not come to class and still pass, but I recommend going because his class is so very fun and informative.

Best professor you will ever take, Professor Janke has a great way of making sure you learn the material while not bogging you down with an insane work load, he genuinely loves helping his students, and gives more of himself to his class than any other professor Ive ever had. Professor Todd is amazing. He's one of my first online class i took and he did amazing with his feedback. All you do is do a discussion post and reply to your classmates and take a test that arent cumulative. Every week, he emails and talks about the readings to have a clearer understanding of what you read that week. I would take him again.

He was very understanding. He wants you to succeed and give you the extra tools needed. Always helpful feedback and shows empathy. Great professor. I took him for Intro to Aesthetics as well.

Professor Janke is outstanding. He was clear with his grading, and he gave great feedback. The weekly report was just fluff. We did not have to show work. All you had to do was write a little about what you did and did not understand. That's all. Easy A class. If you failed this class, it says less about him and more about you.

Of all the professors I had during Covid, he was by far the best. From day one, everything was prepared, even an introduction video for us. Most of the class was discussions, which kind of fits the class, but after each one he would give an overview that taught you what you needed for the test, and he would always respond and help if needed.

Janke is a real gem!! As a night owl, I do my works really late at night yet every time I email him something about the readings, he replied INSTANTLY (even at 3-4 AM - the man does not sleep). His tests could be a bit tough if you do not review his notes and the remarks beforehand but overall, he is willing to help!!

I FREAKING LOVEEEEE MR. JANKE! Hes honestly the sweetest down-to-earth professor at CSU. I wish I could take him for every subject. You will not be disappointed in taking any of his classes.

He assigned you, you do the work, you will pass with A. Easy argument essay 10%. 2 attempts quizzes. 3 Exams. None of them are accumulative. He provides sample quizzes for practice. Email him every week to inform him about your work. He records some review videos before exams. His explanations are straight and easy to understand.

Took him for CRIT online. Great professor, and always available to help and respond to emails quickly. 3 exams, 9 quizzes, and 1 argumentative paper which aren't hard too bad. There is also a weekly report due each week which is usually 3-7 sentences long. Would recommend.

This class was pretty easy in my opinion. Discussions are due every Thursday and replies are due on Sunday. You are given two writers to choose from to do your discussion and must reply to two others' discussions. The exams won't be difficult if you have been reading and staying on track. I would have gotten an A, but I missed one discussion.

The only thing with this class is understanding the work but other than that he is a great teacher. Progress reports matter so make sure you do them.

He is one of my fav professors at CSU. He enjoy teaching and it shows. Make sure you read the documents in D2L. He was super easy to talk with (in person/via email). He is super kind and understanding - don't be afraid to reach out to him. Do not skip discussion posts. They are vital for a passing grade and so are responses to other students.

Janke was very kind from the moment he step into the class. For the whole semester, I never saw him mad, he always had a smile on his face and a joke! His test and quizzes are really easy. And he explains things so well. I would take him 10000x again honestly. He does like to call randomly and typically uses the whole class time.

Best teacher I ever had hands down. There is not one bad thing that I can say about him. you will not regret taking this class. All you need to do is listen and talk to him or if you don't like talking then you don't have to. He respects everyone and just wants to have a good time. Professor Janke is awesome and I have taken him for two different courses. His classes are very easy and don't require you to do much. He gives you the day off to take the exams at home. There are only 2 exams and a few discussion posts. Listen to what he says, take notes, and you should do fine.
