he wasn't to bad if you got back his random stupid jokes but he at least understood that people were their because they had to be not because they wanted to be with this class so al in all he was ok

I would like to give a shout out to the man, T-Bone. Not only does T-Bone keep it real, he keeps it gansta, hence the man acquiring the worthy nickname of T-Bone. A great sense of humor, humbleness and suitable scientific persona. Great class!

T-bone is the man, the class is fairly easy and you get extra credit quizes. Plus he is very laid back. If you get a chance to take him I would recommend it.

He is such a great guy! You go to class and he will give extra credit every once in a while just for putting your name on the paper. He really gives you a chance to get a great grade in the class. With a name like T-bone he really grows on you.

He is an excellent professor for this course. I always enjoyed going to class. He is very flexible and tries really hard to be funny. Exams were 99.9% from his lecture notes.

He is the best teacher that you could ever have. Can you say test corrections and extra credit? Hell ya! I recommend that you take him and no one else! For real!

The class is not too hard since he gives lots of quizes and you get full credit for the quizes by just showing up.

I absolutley loved him!!! It was my last class of the day and there was never a day that I just "didn't feel like going" He kept us all intrested and laughing. He told us exactly what was on the exam, no fooling around or tricking. I love him! TAke him!

He is a great teacher. He is really helpful with everything that he lectures on! Class is light and fun to be in and usually gets out early. Also, the days after tests he ALWAYS gives out extra credit. He is the best biology teacher yet!!

This guy is the man!!!! He makes Biology easy to understand and is always available if you have a question. Exams are fair and if you show up to class you will have no problem, plus you can usually get extra credit on Fridays.

Easy Easy Easy, I got 92 or above on all tests, you dont need the book and he even says the test is 100% from lecture notes. He is awesome i got about 35 points of extra credit and the best part is that he sounds like Kermit the frog, and lets you out early everyday. Dry humor, but is extremely funny when he makes fun of himself

VERY NICE!! I hate biology but Kostman made the class interesting. He also gives out a lot of extra credit so if you score bad on the exams the extra points help a lot. ALso very helpful. Just ask for help and he will be happy to help. One of my favorite teachers, i wish they were all like him:)

He's a nice guy but his class is a little boring but that's bio for ya. Very helpful and pretty easy to get an A as long as you go to class and at least study a day or two in advance of the tests.

He is pretty funny and tries to explain things well. I did not want to take this class but had too take a gen ed and he made it less painful than i thought it was going to be.

great professor. knows that a lot of people taking it aren't majoring in bio and doesn't try to fail people. lectures off of power point and all quiz and tests questions are right out of lecture. all quizzes are online and open note. also give A TON of extra credit so go to class on fridays. Definitely recommend taking this professor. He always tries to crack jokes during class and really tries to make it interesting. Uses powerpoint during lecture, LOTS of extra credit, gives easy online quizzes, and exams are easy and straight forward. I don't even read the text since all exam questions are from lecture.

Prof. Kostman, or T-Bone as he prefers to be called is great! He is funny and entertaining in a dry off beat kind of way. He makes topics easy to understand and breaks up the monotony with his random quips and interjections. Real nice guy!

Dr. Kostman really cares about the success of his students. He will spend hours of his own personal time in evening reviews with students prior to each exam. His lectures are entertaining and clear. Sets the bar very high!

He's amazing. Tries to keep your attention by telling jokes. Refers to marijuana a lot. Great guy. Sounds like Kermit the frog! He's a really good prof!

Easiest class ever. Didn't have to study much. Pretty much right from the book except he makes it even easier. T-bone is an awesome guy. He was worth showing up to class to listen to despite being able to learn the material directly from the book. Tests are almost a joke (there are joke questions in the tests). Pretty awesome.

He is a very easy teacher. I studied an hour before each exam and managed an A everytime. Take time to go to the review sessions before exams. He tells you exact questions that will be on the exam. I would definately reccommend him.

Book isn't essential but it helps for review. Presentations are crystal-clear and the figures are life-savers. I won't be popular for saying this, but I really do wish he didn't hand out points so easily--there's no incentive to study because you can work together on all the quizzes and he tells you everything on the exams. Very fun teacher though.

Great Professor! Todd Kostman is a very fair professor. He uses powerpoint for lecture. Exams consist of straightforward concepts, not ridiculous details. Show up for lectures and study for the exams and you should be able to get an "A."

I never had him but he's definetly a professor for Freshmen who comes and don't know who to take. All my friends took him except me and they all are getting an A. I had the hardest Professor and is curently failing but i plan to bump that up to a C to hopefully past Bio. He's a really nice professor My sister had him she said he was fun to have.

Kostman is an amazing professor. It's really easy to understand the concepts he teaches and he is quite the character. I definately recommend him to any student willing to learn AND have fun!

If you pay attention during class, he gives out some answers to exam question. Comprehensive exam is an easy 100%, all questions&answers are given, just have to memorize. MUST TAKE!

Dr. Kostman is an excellent pit class instructor. He is very funny and time flies by. He is very willing to answer any questions you might have. He is a very easy Bio professor. Very funny if you are good at picking up on his jokes. HIs humor made me look forward to coming to class. He doesn't throw too much info. at you and is pretty clear on what will be on the exams. The quizzes are all open notes and easy. I would take him again, but I feel like I didn't learn as much as I should have.

I am not good at biology but he is by far the best professor to learn it from. he is funny, puts terms in english (understanding), and really understands that this is an intro level class and most of us were not biologists. One of the few professors who knows how to actually teach at an INTRO level. He is very good at explaining things that students without bio knowledge can understand. He throws a lot of cheesy jokes into his lectures and gives out about 10 extra credit quizzes. Make sure to go to class and you should get an A easily! Never cracked the book once.

Dr. Kostman tries to make his lectures less boring by throwing in some cheesy jokes, but he is actually a pretty good professor. He tries to make complicated concepts and terms easier to understand. You'll learn more by sitting in lecture than trying to understand the textbook. His lectures can sometimes be unorganized, but study and you'll do fine

The lectures are long and somewhat hard to grasp, but he will explain anything you have confusion on and help you at all costs. Kostman is awesome!! He is the only teacher than I have had in my 2 years being here that gives out extra credit just for showing up to class (sometimes). He also curves like everything. Should probably study though. Do not get distracted.

Kostman gave my class 35 points of extra credit throughout the semester with "quizzes" randomly given in class. He also curves many exams. It is pretty easy to get an A with minimal effort

Great Professor! Exams are based on lectures, so make sure to look through notes often. He likes referring to puns or corny jokes a lot, which can help break up long lectures. He is there to help if you ask, and is very approachable. He gives out extra credit, but will never say when. So ATTEND class, or you could miss out on 10 extra credit points

Well-respected professor. He is very clear with his lectures! Don't buy/rent the book, it is NOT needed. Never touched it. Exams are lecture-based. You can skip lectures here and there, but be there since he gives out extra credit during some of his lectures! SI's are crucial, go to them!

I know a lot of people mentioned that you won't need the textbook, but you should get it anyway! Todd? I like him very much. He has 5 exams, worth 11% each. If you study and go to SI you will be absolutely fine. Put in work and you will succeed. SI isn't mandatory but it sure helps in the 2,3, and 4 exams. I would totally take again in the future.

Todd was an amazing professor! You have to show up though because he teaches and tests you on a lot of things that aren't in the textbook. His lectures are very straight forward and easy to follow, but I recommend going to SI as well.

I had signed up for this class 3 other times during my time at UWO and had dropped it every time because the professor was too hard. Finally, I had Kostman and he is great! He really cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. He's a goofy guy and makes lectures interesting. He usually has one quiz a week that he hands out in class.

Dr. Kostman is a great professor and did his best to teach a subject that I don't find interesting. He cracks jokes during class that aren't very funny, but are funny because they're not funny. The notes are easy to follow as long as you show up to class. Don't buy the textbook right away, wait until class to see what he wants you to use.

Tbone is freaking hilarious ! lectures are never boring due to his humor, I highly recommend him over any other introductory bio professor. As long as you show up to class and study, you will do well in his class.

Easiest cell/molec prof. Knows his stuff, fair grader and not a lot of assignments, lets you use a note card. He's also a funny guy and helpful at office hours. Cell/molec might not be your favorite, but if you try hard on the quizzes and use your note card (he tells you some things to put on it so pay attention) it's not too bad.

Best professor I have had for being a freshman in college (2016). Everything said in lecture is on the exams, so basically make sure you study. And he does quizzes, sometimes at the end of lecture or before a lecture and even during lecture; but it goes on your grade as extra credit.

Funny

This guy is the best teacher or professor to have for lecture and lab. Each day in the lecture he has a joke plus he gives out what will be on the exam. GO TO THE SI (Student Instructor) they help. He doesn't take attendance but its worth your time to go

Kostman finds a way to incorporate humor into all his lectures. I would have to say this is the best bio 105 teach to get. He will even give hints during lecture about what "might" be on the exams. You have to listen really closely in lecture though.

Tbone is the best bio teacher ever. He makes Bio105 so easy to understand. He welcomes questions. He's funny. He will literally tell you what on the exams. Just go to class and takes notes. He randomly gave us extra credit for going to class. He's cool, take him please.

Kostman was a pretty good professor. He was funny, but tried too hard sometimes. But he keeps the lectures interesting. He gives you hints for the exam, so if you write them down, it's a free point. He goes fast, so attending SI will help if you can't grasp a concept. Sometimes, if attendance is low, he'll give extra credit to those that show up.

Come to class!! Go to SI, they honestly will bump your grade. Try and study and do homework with friends! I struggled through this course and wish I had studied harder in the beginning. Just try your best and really go to lectures/lab. (Pop quizzes sometimes are worth a lot of points.)

Very friendly would take again, if you have any questions he'll answer them and he won't degrade you when he answers

His tests are very easy as long as you take notes, show up to lectures, and go to SI. He gives a lot of extra credit so go to class. If you are taking bio 105 you want Kostman!

Kostman will be the best Biology professor you will ever have! He is so funny and makes learning super easy. You won't use the paper text book, but you will need the online access code in order to even pass the class. Take him, you won't regret it.

Kostman is one of the best professors I have had at UWO! I highly recommend taking Bio 105 with this plant loving man. He does what he can to ensure you will succeed and there was never a dull moment in lecture. He made me love Bio 105 and I wish more science professors were like him. Highly recommend T-Bone! He's very funny and nice, and he actually makes lecture kind of interesting and bearable. Tests are very tough, so go to SI and your grade will not suffer. LOVES plants and he will most likely ask which type of cell is his favorite.

Dr. Kostman is a great professor! Explains things clearly and adds some humor to keep lectures interesting. I'm not a science major but he still made biology easy to learn. Show up to class, take notes on the powerpoints, study those notes, and you'll be just fine on the exams. Quizzes are open-note too.

T-Bone is the best professor I've ever had. I took his Bio 108 course and I loved it. Hard material, which is why it's recommended that you show up for lectures. He's super funny and he genuinely cares about his students. 100% would take him again.

Amazing professor! Very funny and jokes around! His exams are all based on what he goes over in lecture (so do the notes) but he gives you a study guide so you know exactly what you should study. He is very caring and truly wants everyone to pass. He offers extra credit and always wants to know what he can do to help everyone in the class succeed.

Going to class is mandatory if you want all the material that is going to be on the exams. Exam 2 was the hardest so you have to start studying, & going to SI is recommend!

Kostman is easily the best professor here on the UWO campus. Not only does he give you hints to what is on the exams, but he makes the information fun to learn. With his usual dry humor, he will go through slides fast so PRINT THEM. Make sure you know the information in depth because all the exams are fill in the blank or short answers.

Todd IS AWESOME!!! As a student not pursuing a major in the sciences, I was hesitant to take a Biology course. Having Mr. Kostman for BIO105 was a true blessing. He is SO FUNNY and doesn't even try. Different from many professors, Todd doesn't use big words to sound smart, he TEACHES for his students to actually LEARN!! :) 1 of the top profs at UWO

There's only 1 downside to Dr. Kostman, he goes through lecture slides very FAST. I'd recommend downloading the slideshow prior to class, because it's difficult keeping up without doing so. Very helpful, and keeps everything on the quiz/exams to material on slideshows, so no need for textbook. Would recommend taking him for 323 if you can.

I loved Dr Kostman. He was super awesome. He manages the bio department so he dosent like bad profs. I struggled in the lab portion with a different professor who sucked and at the end of the semester had a 43% in lab but 94 in lecture. I explained my situation to him and he agreed that it was not fair and dropped my lab grade completely. Love him!

He is one of the best professors I had this semester. He has a really chill and laid back personality. He gives pop quizzes here and there but he does warn you ahead of time, there are 5 exams with no final and he does drop the lowest exam and quiz score. Everything on exam is from lecture slides. As long as you study, should be easy A/B. Great guy

Dr. Kostman is one of my favorite professors at Oshkosh. He is very approachable and will answer any questions you have. He is passionate about what he teaches, and in this class it is his favorite biology, botany. The grades are all about lecture and lab exams (4 each), so be prepared to study especially for the lab exams. He's the best!

He is a great professor and sometimes made funny jokes. If you show up to class everyday and take good notes, you will most likely leave the class with an A. During lectures he would hint questions that were on the exam and the answers to them! He gave random quizzes that were worth 10 points but they were open note and you can talk with people!

Dr. Kostman is a really good professor. He knows what he is talking about and is very understanding towards his students. I would definitely recommend taking his class.

Kostman is such a dad, he tells funny jokes and you can tell that he wants you to succeed in his class. On his exams, he doesn't try to trick you on what the answer is, it is very straightforward. He is one of the best professors that I've had so far as a freshman. I defiantly recommend him.

One of the best profs I've ever had. He's incredibly kind and passionate about his field and inspired me to major in bio. Don't be fooled by his monotone voice; his lectures are great, he explains material really well (and in multiple ways if you ask), and he has a perfect dry sense of humor. Almost cried when I found out he's retiring.
