It's the most useful class I've taken. Teacher Todd Lim has great knowledge and passion on his course. Visual aids like slideshows or videos are interesting, updated and nice. He is very helpful and can spend time not only during but also even after class to answer your questions till you get them clearly. I highly recommend you take his class.

Todd Lim is a great instructor. Although some of the hikes were challenging, it was worth all the hard work. As long as you put in your hardest effort and he sees that, you'll enjoy and pass this class. I would recommend this 'walking for fitness' class to anyone whose up for adventures.

Todd Lim is very knowledgeable and can answer your diet and fitness questions. This class consists of walking/hiking and one 2-3 page typed paper of your daily nutrition. Show up, do that assignment, do YOUR best, and you should have an A in the class.
The walks were not too bad. Professor was very organized and fun.
This class is not just walking. We hiked up all those hills behind Rio Hondo and we built endurance. It was a good class. Not for sissy's. Very informative. Great teacher who is serious about your work ethic. He makes it interesting. Wasn't boring. I learned a lot from Mr. Lim. He knows his stuff but be ready to work. Very cool, down to earth guy.

This course is not as easy as it seems. It's walking and hiking but it's not impossible to do. There is just one assignment but it's is super easy to do. This instructor was great!
I didn't expect this class to be challenging in the least bit, but it was fairly difficult on some days. He motivates really well and the routes that he has you take up hills that make you want to do better each time. It was awesome to be able to see the progress made the first time you tried a route versus the final time. You feel great!
He always explained everything, from stretching to how to walk up and down the hill.

Great Professor really makes you work hard. You will be fit after this class. Attendance is important. He only allows one make up class. He knows what he is talking about. Take this class in the spring made the mistake to take it in the fall it was super cold.

He does his best as a kina instructor. He'll insist on you giving thoughts comments and questions. Always looking to improve. Making him an impeccable instructor. There were moments where he actually dove into the water to show the class what to do by example. I recommend taking him.

Todd is an amazing professor and helps motivate you to your highest potential. He gives clear instructions on what to do and how to improve which honestly helped me become a better swimmer. In only 5 weeks I improved my time by 6 minutes.
This class surely helped me get back in shape and also helped me develop a stronger mentality and physical strength. I swam an insane amount that I never imagined I was able to do.
Just be on time and try to do what excises he says. It's a easy class to take over the summer.

Todd is a great motivator. I took his swim for fitness class in the summer and it was great. Did not have that much experience or knowledge but by the end of the course i was amazed with what he taught the class. Summer is easy and the most effective because its a daily basis commitment so you will see your results faster. Great motivator !!
If you are looking for a great workout, take his class. Todd is a great professor, he will work with you based on your fitness experience. You will be moved between levels depending on your improvement, so dont be afraid. Aside from my workout, I was able to improve my swimming techniques. You will swim like a pro. by the end of the semester.

Couch Lim, made the class extremely fun and you also become a better swimmer. I took it in the summer and within those 5 weeks my swimming skills have improved tremendously. Todd is an excellent coach and he really does care about improving your athletic ability. He is thorough in his feedback and helps you every step of the way. I highly recommend taking this class with him. If you want to get in shape you won't regret it!
Let me tip you over the fence if you're on it: Coach Lim is everything you would expect from an excellent coach (not necessarily enjoy LOL). He gives you excellent instruction to improve your technique and strength in swimming. He teaches it like a proper Professor! Demonstrates well, repeats, rephrases, and listens to feedback. Todd is very encouraging and makes swimming very fun, yet very challenging. You will be swimming in day 1 in summer be prepare. His class will get you in shape and your skills will improve drastically even noobs. Beware he will literally push you to you limits. He will also group students by their abilities and move them around as they improve.
You will get a nice color tan (: he will push you to be the best that you can be , because even if youre always late he still allows you to swim.

Attendance is super important in order to pass. Aside from that Todd is really great he pushes you to get in shape mentally& physically, he explains everything with detail, & helps you improve your swimming overall.
Todd was a great teacher. I improved my swimming skills tremendously, got in much better shape, and got a nice tan. If I can, I will definitely take another class with him. He was cool and the class was really fun even though it was tough. This was a great way to spend my summer. Also, we had a potluck at the end of the course.

Coach Lim is very understanding and respectful. Communicate with him and give him your best efforts. He is very resonable and treats all his students the same,with respect. Make sure that you come to class because every second counts! Not only will you get into shape but you will become a confident swimmer. Coach is an amazing teacher and will work with you, so put in the effort. Since this isn't your typical class, everything is either verbalized or coach demonstrates for you. Be ready to work hard and have fun!

took class in summer . helped me improve in my swimming in so many ways. End of week 5 i had cut my time for the 500 free by a minute and forty-five seconds... I have become more consciously aware of how i swim and pay attention to my technique all the time. Think fast, swim fast. Thank you Todd!

Great instructor! Provided plenty of feedback and truly cares for your improvement in his class.
Criteria for assignments are straight forward and fairly easy. Gave two extra credit assignments for 15 points each. However some assignments were posted later than normal, so not really consistent in the schedule. Only 3 quizzes for exams, the third quiz is the final and noncumulative. Questions are specific and require reading of the textbook.

This class course requires you to attend class, staying on top of your things, studying, and making sure to ask for questions if needed. For this class you need a textbook because without it you might fail.
Show up to class ready to participate. Coach Lim is very personable and easy to get a hold of if you need any help outside of scheduled hours. You will need the book for this class the tested material is based off the readings. This was an accelerated 8 week course, so not too many assignments but tests were heavily weighted. Give urself enuf time.
Professor Lim is an excellent teacher but he does make you work for your grade. He does a good job describing situation in lecture and you do learn a good amount in his class. If you dont like to be pushed this class will be difficult for you.
This was an 8 week course so it was fast pace and attendance is mandatory. The schedule did shift a little too. So it would help for some if your schedule is a little flexible with other classes on your plate. Just be able to manage your time and study the material, and you'll be good.
Professor Lim, gives many opportunities to contact him outside of class. He encourages his students to ask questions, however he does grade a little hard because he likes detail. Overall, Professor Lim is a good professor.

Due to the pandemic, the PE class was online. He was open to whatever you wanted to do on your own time so long as you filled out the logs w/ proof (Heart rate monitor or an app on phone for gps) Literally the only way you would fail this class is to not workout. Minimum submission was a 30 min workout each day and there was also extra credit!

Professor Lim is a super nice guy. He was very prompt with his email responses when I had questions and was forgiving when I had technical difficulties with my equipment for his online PE course. Mr. Lim was a straight forward guy. During swim he would introduce drills. If anyone was not doing it properly, he would show them what they are doing and how to correct it. The teacher overall was always willing to talk and give feedback. Mr. Lim always made sure the drill was performed correctly! Thank you Coach!

Professor Todd Lim is a great instructor and I would like to be back. He is always in a good mood and for class, as long you're on time for attendance and participate, its a easy grade. He has patience to help beginner swimmers. I improved so much learning from Todd Lim, I had so much fun, time went by in a blink of an eye. I wish I can stay longer
Todd Lim is an amazing instructor. KINA 120 was a very fun class to take. He gives students drills to do. They help improve techniques in swimming and make you a better swimmer. He is understanding and helps everyone. I wish the class lasted longer than 5 weeks because I had a lot of fun. Classmates and Todd were amazing.
His class is simple. If you show up you get the points of the day. If youre late some points are deducted. As long as youre keeping track of your attendance and are putting some kind of effort you should have no problem.
I think as a swim instructor he was good enough there were a few things I disliked/concerned me but overall he was ok. I took this class because it was a requirement that I needed for kinesiology I did not take this to prove myself to anyone or anything. Show up and you will be good. Wear(Sun)screen. Treats people differently based on performance.
Kina 120 was an amazing class to take over the summer. The coach was very passionate with increasing his students swimming skills. Over the span of 5 weeks we were tasks with swimming drills that would increase our speed and stamina in the water that kept me in shape and increased my confidence as a competitive swimmer.

Such a great coach! The class was a great experience in trying new things with swimming. I enjoyed getting the opportunity to swim with new gear that I was unfamiliar with. Grading was easy and fair with attendence and participation!
Coach Todd Lim is so cool and caring. A student shared how they didn't have AC at home and he immediately gave them places to go for free AC. He really cares about his students. For class, we were graded on attendance and participation (not how fast we swam). He helped me improve so much! My endurance, technique, and speed all increased!
Summer 2024. Coach Todd isn't at 5 stars? If you're a lazy POS and can't participate during his swim class don't bother. He's a great instructor who makes swimming not about doing 75-100 laps in 2 hours, to fun not boring work outs that improves your physical and mental well being. He'll make the most of your efforts & you'll see the results.
Coach Todd is absolutely AMAZING! As someone who came into the class with low expectations I had such a great time throughout the course! He is very patient with each of his students and encourages you to push yourself more and more everyday. He even jumped in the pool to give us demonstrations! Overall, this class was a good workout, I LOVE it!

I really enjoyed this class with professor Lim. He's very caring and encourages everyone to reach their physical goals. Don't be scared to ask questions about an exercise or how to use a machine he will gladly answer all your questions and teach you how to use the exercise machine. Super chill guy. Let's you work on your own goals while also introducing some great exercises and feedback. Never had any problems with him, he was always respectful and looked to help out. His workout routines at the end of class grew difficult over time, but it was a great physical challenge.

I went in know 0 swimming skills besides how to float. I left knowing basic breathing skills and swimming skills. He guided us to do our best. Overall he was a great professor whose goal was to see us improve.

Coach Lim is an awesome Fitness and team coach. He is super understanding and explains things in a way students understand what and why they are doing certain exercises. I had some physical limitations and he was able to modify the exercises to be able to continue the class. This was very helpful and allowed me to loose some weight.
Professor Lim is very kind and knowledgeable. The difficulty of the class comes from the intensity of the workouts which is a bonus, hes always willing to share information and gives great pep talks.
He knows his stuff. If you ask him about an exercise he answers right then and there and/or even walk you to the exercise and show you. He knows how the body burns up fat and makes muscle. Know a lot about nutrition. Real easy to approach and talk to.
Professor Lim is an amazing swim coach. He teaches the different strokes well, and easily identifies problems with your technique. If you have medical issues, just let him know, he's very understanding. I would absolutely take every class he teaches if I had the money :)

Great professor! He pushed us to reach our goals and kept the class enjoyable. I started swimming 20 laps in 23 min and finished at just over 16 min. He gave very specific technique tips and was very motivating.I'd take it again.

Coach Lim is one of the best swimming instructors I have had. He encourages you to improve without pushing you to the point of breaking. For KINA 120, Coach Lim recognized that many students enrolled in the class because it fits their schedules and that they have varying skill levels, so he puts everyone in the lanes that they are the best fit in.
