Dr. Myers runs a great class with lots of interesing films and good books. He also has a fun sense of humor combined with a philosophical outlook. I will take him again.
I loved this class. Professor Myers is a very nice, knowledgeable and flexible teacher.
i can't believe that actually these 2 raters said that he's hot coz he's not! the first day of class, it was full. and only few (countable with hand) remained in the end of semester. his class is just a joke, irrelevant between his speech with the assignment given. easy A though. take his class but just don't expect too much from him
Myers is a smart guy who adds a great deal to class by his insight into the subject matter. I appreciated his helpfulness.
Dr. Myers led great discussions, brought real life experience to the topic, and let us pick the grae we wanted to work for. I also think he worked for a Secretary of State who dealt with Asian politics. He knows his stuff. I don't know what these other people are talking about...
Very helpful and kind teacher. He told me about some interesting fellowships and wrote letters to help me get them.
If you LOVE movies, take this class. every class you watch a movie. there is almost no lecture and discussions are dead. the final consists of reading yoru books and watching the films. He talks to fast and everything becomes a blur when he lectures.
Myers is chill, he will even give you an idea of what he expects out of every essay you write. The problem is that this is a 3 hour class and it's difficult to focus, so you might miss it. Write your essays the week he gives you the prompts... Or else finals week will involve writing several four page long essays, making it even more stressful
His lectures are very boring, if you can choose another professor, choose another one. He doesn't explain very well.
the class is boring, but i was able to get an A without even reading the book. study guides are 50 questions and if you know the answers to those than you're pretty much gonna ace the test. he gives in class quizzes for attendance so show up because they'll impact your grade. the essay is tedious, but i did it at the last minute and still got an A.
His class wasn't bad. Pretty boring, but sometimes brings up interesting topics. Study guide is basically the tests. The research paper wasn't that hard, i got a 90 doing it last minute. If you contact him, he's willing to help you with your paper. He also took attendance everyday.
Sometimes he gets a little off-topic, but overall he is clear and explains the concepts well. I found the tests fairly easy and would recommend Myers.
He's a good teacher because he explains topics well and he's very open to listening to students's ideas and questions. The subject of microeconomics was difficult but he's a good teacher. There is weekly online homework that's a bit tedious. Tests are online as well and they are not too difficult.
Prof. Myers is hilarious, and it was apparent from the first day of class. Macroeconomics is such a dry subject, but he really tries to make it interesting to everyone. He knows everything there is to know about ECON, so he is very helpful and will stay after class to talk to you about anything (even about German professors and how to be healthy.)
Tests are online and easy
The class is very boring and I dread going. By week 4, only less than 10 out of 40 people come to class and he does not do anything about it. I took the class for CR/NCR and showed up to get credit. The tests are online and heavily based on the book. I recommend getting the ebook of the textbook because you can search up keywords of the question.
Tests and homework are all online. 4 tests throughout the semester and one assignment due online every Friday. Asking questions will make you more confused. After 2 weeks majority of the class doesn't attend lectures because the slides are all online & assignments and tests are based on the book. Easy class, but you won't learn much.
This class was really boring, it really dragged on the whole time and he gets off topic so you lose interest 10 minutes into the class. everyone stopped showing up after the second week. BUT! all the tests/homework is online so its VERY easy.
He is a very intelligent teacher but his lectures are dry and will drain out all your energy. didn't really learn much from going to class because he gets off topic often. however all the tests are online so its fair enough. also beware of the weekly aplia assignments they can be annoying.
There were 4 tests each worth 20% of your grade and a weekly online homework assignment which eventually are the other 20% of your grade. Gives one or two opportunities to receive extra credit. His lectures are boring and most people stop going a few weeks into the semester. There is really no reason to go to class since everything is online.
His class is technically a hybrid format but if you are capable of reading the textbook and learning on your own there is absolutely no reason to go to his class since all the homework and tests are online. He is a brilliant guy with a sense of humor though, so it wouldn't hurt to stop by his class every now and then.
He does give extra credit opportunities and his tests are online but the test questions are very book specific. At the end of the semester you have to write a research paper in which he says write 10 pages if you want an A on it. So hard to show up to class but he will randomly give points some days so go to class!
Really nice guy, his lectures are very off topic at times but are usually insightful. Everything is online, including the slides he goes over in lecture. The class is comprised of 4 online tests, 20% each, and 20% weekly aplia assignments that tend to be time consuming. Not a bad Econ teacher, he doesn't curve but he offers some extra credit.
80% tests (4 exams including final), 20% online HW every week. his lectures are pointless all he does it read the powerpoints and sometimes explains but gets really off topic. the HW and tests are online but are challenging. final was on just last 2 chapters of textbook
Can go off topic in his lectures/power points that leads to students dozing off in class/skipping, seeming boring but times where he gives you extra credit/point for showing up. The 4 tests are very specific to the book, 15 discussion questions are based off of substance length, and long research paper needing at least 10 pages+ all due online.
Easy class. All tests and homework are online and gives you plenty of time to do it
Not a bad class. His lectures are a bit boring, but he likes to demonstrate a few concepts each class in an entertaining fashion (ex. acting like a samurai). The four tests are all online and extremely book specific. There was an research paper due at the end of the semester, but I wrote it the night before it was due and received an A.
I really disliked Myers lecture style. I stopped going the second week because I was more confused listening to him than just reading the textbook-- this class sucked.
Only have A B C D on grading. That means if you get89%, you still only get a B which is the same with 81%. Lectures are pointless and always off topic. No attendance, but you need to read a lot to pass.
I stopped going to lectures 2 months in because they were wasting my time. Went off topic all the time and the powerpoints he went over were online. Online tests are hard because you can not go back and change your answer, several times topics were not even in the chapters given. Aplia (weekly homework) took hours. Read the textbook to help.
talks all class, answers to hw/ tests online, weekly hw assignments, 4 tests per semester, pretty outgoing, seems like a chill boi, would take again, no big complaints
You have to get the textbook for the online homework code for APLIA (which sucks), but a majority of the grade is the 4 tests that are all online, so you'll do just fine. His lectures are boring, and not mandatory at all. The whole class generally does not show up after the second week, make sure to go by every once in a while because he is nice.
Professor Meyers has an eccentric teaching style and is not afraid to share his opinions on many things which can be too much for some. The tests are based off of his powerpoints/textbook and are very straight forward and there is not much hw other than a weekly discussion post!
There are weekly Aplia, online assignments that are challenging but easier if you read, or browsed the chapters. Chegg is a life saver as most of the few big tests were online and 95% of the answers were on there (same for the alia answers). Dont need to attend class, I went about 5 times and ended with an A, his lecture notes are online.
Aplia for homework due each week. Definitely the easy route if you're an ECON major and need a Stats class. No one shows up to his lectures after the first couple weeks ): They can be pretty boring and don't even help much in learning the concepts. Nice and funny guy though and all his tests are on Blackboard (including the final)
Prof. Myers is a phenomenal teacher. He's fair, as long as you put the effort in. Really enjoyed the class.
Such a nice guy
He was so much fun, he starts every class by listening to a song that he finds on youtube. He really cares about Econ and wants everyone else to care just as much as him. The textbook is mandatory to get onto MindTap. Weekly quizzes 20%, 4 Tests are 80% of your grade. All quiz/tests are online. He doesnt do +/- grades, an A is an A!
Great professor, honestly definitely an easy class and a passionate speaker. If you can take him for an upper division econ class, then I highly recommend it. Makes learning fun and he's extremely friendly and lenient. 2 online exams and 10% extra credit on final!
I love his classes. Highly recommend!!! You will get an A just by doing anything. He does not give tough work.
Super nice guy, cool music taste. Grade is entirely based on online quizzes and tests. He also offers extra credit. The online textbook is pricey but it's a fairly easy class.
Great professor, had him for my first 500 course and he was absolutely a funny and knowledgeable guy. Really understanding of his students and their efforts in class. He is generous and flexible as long as you listen and show up.
Professor Myers is a nice guy but lectures are rather boring so most of the class stops showing up after a few weeks. Graded only on weekly online quizzes and a few online exams.
Tests are all online and are all on quizlet. Weekly online quizzes that are also on quizlet. There are like 200 people in his lectures so he doesn't take attendance and no one shows up after the first couple weeks. Easy easy easy A
I think I went to his class a total of 6 times. Lectures are so boring and off of a PP, but he's very funny. Just do the weekly quizzes (which are all on quizlet) and don't forget to do the tests (which are also all on quizlet). Read the book and teach yourself if you want to learn anything. Overall an easy A and class didn't cause me any stress.
I only attended class the first two weeks and everything was online. He is super caring and understanding but his lectures are super boring.
I went to class for maybe the first two to three weeks and literally never went again. Every weekly quiz and all tests were online, including the final (and most questions can be found on quizlet). I would sometimes try to go to class but his lectures are so boring I would just end up leaving.
Friday online discussions+ 4 online exams + 1 research paper. the best professor ever. however you need to read the book very well to pass the course.
YOU WANT A+ TAKE TODD MYERS ., BEST PROFESSOR IN SDSU , GROSSMONT
You do not need to go to class. Everything is online, the homework and the quizzes. The lectures just go over the textbook info. If you really care about learning Econ, you can just take notes from textbook on your own and skip class. There are quizzes every week but they are easy.
Take this class if you want to do everything online. You dont need to show up, final grades are 20% tests (which you take online) and 80% online activities which are quizzes you take every week online. Lectures are very boring and most people dont go. If you want an easy A, take this class, but if you actually want to learn about economics dont.
this entire class is basically online - reading, quizzes, and tests. he doesn't take attendance so after the first week, very few people show up to class. I definitely didn't learn a lot. the tests, even with most answers online, are kind of difficult and time consuming. this is probably the easiest Econ class because it is online however
He is a kind of professor that tries to be funny to young students but is unentertaining and just curses a lot; I want a professor, not a rising standup comedy star. Lectures are YouTube videos and homework readings are boring but thats the only way you can do homework. Of all the Econ courses I have taken, this is by far the worst. Easy tests tho
Never came to class after the first couple weeks because everything is online, including exams. Lectures are boring and unnecessary to attend. Weekly homework assignment and a few exams, pretty easy A.
The lectures are very boring and after the first week the class attendance went from 300+ to less than 20 (not because everyone dropped, they just never showed up). Class is based solely on reading and lectures, which in my opinion were very boring. Myers though is a great guy and he is very passionate about Econ, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
There is no homework in the class, just 4 tests and the final. Class is a total of 100 points, so if you mess up early on, good luck. Lectures are all pre-recorded and there are no zoom calls. I took AP Econ in high school and this class was a breeze.
Course was just 6 tests, 15 points each with final test being 20. Lots of reading for each chapter, but he provides slideshows that sum them up. Tests are simple multiple choice and answers come from the reading.
Took this class fully online. Only 5 exams and 1 final. All the answers to every exam can be found online or quizlet. He's pretty understanding and if ur honest about missing an exam, chances are he'll let you make it up for partial credit. I highly suggest this class for anyone needing an easy A in econ 101
This class is super easy. I took notes on every chapter of the book but All answers for tests are on quizlet. You can get an A only using Quizlet as your best friend during the tests. 6 tests pretty much make up your entire grade. Prof. Myers is very kind but talks a lot if u speak to him. Definitely take this class. A piece of cake
This class was pretty easy if you don't fall behind in the readings. There was 5 tests and one final. He did all lectures asynchronously but was very available if you needed help. Very structured class that wasn't my favorite because it was kinda boring, but overall it was pretty easy and I'd take again. Maybe it's more interesting in person.
Really chill professor. His lectures are super long and kinda boring so I just read all the lecture notes instead sometimes. Everything is posted online. Really easy assignments, the class moves fast but it's very informational.
take him for econ 101 if you can! toddy myers is the best!!!!
I honestly thought 449w was going to be terrible (taking for GWAR req.) but it was by far my favorite class this sem. The assigned readings were actually very interesting for an Econ major and I liked the guest speakers. Class participation is the key to this class, he also gives great feedback in office hours. Getting to know Myers was a pleasure!
Lectures are insanely boring, like to the point where I am about to fall asleep during class. However, with the class being online, the tests are also all online and most of the answers are on quizlet. I wouldn't recommend if you're actually into econ, but for an easy A this is a solid class.
Online lectures are extremely boring and pointless because the information is found in the textbook. You don't have to show up to the lectures because all the quizzes are online and the answers are on quizlet. Take for a very easy A.
Nobody shows up to his zoom lectures because they're really boring and he's very monotone and difficult to listen to. You're only graded by tests which are fairly easy and usually out of 16 points. Easy class.
If you are looking to not learn a thing and pass with a B giving little to no effort, take this class. Class is lecture-style online, boring, and optional in order to pass. You will probably not go after the first two weeks. Your grade is based on 7 MC 15 point tests that are on Canvas. Most of the answers are on quizlet.
Professor Myers is okay. Simply, his lectures are boring (attendance to live lecture went from the 200s to low 20s). They are recorded and posted to Canvas, but everything can be learned from the textbook. If you want an easy A in Econ, take this class but do not expect to gain anything out of it.
i maybe attended class twice the entire semester and pulled out with a 95, this class is a joke its so easy. it was a completely online class and the answers were very easy to find ;) def a blow off class
Professor Myers is a sweetheart and is passionate about economics. I took this class online and many people didnt show up because attendance isnt mandatory but his lectures were interesting. Exams were fairly easy. 10/10
Professor Myers is a respectable professor who is dedicated to what he teaches. The lectures did get a little tedious. We only have to take 6 tests and write 1 research paper. There are weekly discussions (not graded strictly). Expect him to respond to emails a few days later. He's caring and will give extensions if you're sick (like I was).
Great professor
Great professor. Grade is based on a couple of tests and a research paper . He will give you extra time for the research paper if you need it . Very nice and educated
Professor Myers was my favorite Econ professor. I enjoyed every single seconds of this course. I wish that I could take all my Econ classes with him. Please Don't wait and enroll to his classes if you love your self. Thank you professor Myers.
Professor Myers has an amazing personality and it was an honor for me to take this course with him. There are 5 Papers, 1 presentation and weekly activity, reading chapters of books that are required. At first it was scary but as you walk through it and have some passion, then you must get A+. Make sure to get "Grammarly Premium" It helps a lot.
If you want an easy A, take this class. Attendance isn't mandatory and all the answers to his quizzes are online. When you aren't taking quizzes you have discussion posts. I never showed up to class and was able to get an A. He also overall just seems like a nice guy for the times that I have shown up.
Econ 101 with Todd Myers is arguably one of the easiest econ classes, all tests are online. Just remember to take your test, weekly discussions are easy. The one downside is he is a bad communicator and NEVER answers his emails. He is better with communication in person in his lectures.
Would highly recommend taking Myers for Econ 101. By far one of the best ones available. Lectures are interesting and goes over important topics but are not very necessary. Take this course if you have the chance and you won't regret it.
Easy class but the times for the test would change without notice. Sometimes at 6 pm and other times at 3 pm. Make sure to check the times they are due because they can be inconsistent.
Such an easy class, def the best one to take for econ 101. Either a discussion post once a week or a test and they're both super easy. The class was hybrid, but I never went and still got an A.
Pretty good professor, lectures were ok, and didn't go every time but still did well in the class. There is a once-a-week discussion board that is pretty easy and an occasional test that is pretty easy. I would highly recommend Professor Myers for this course.
Super easy for econ101, take myers. Beware though that I took this as a M,W class and tests were usually scheduled during a 50 minute timeslot on fridays, 6 of them in the semester.
Todd is a nice teacher. His class was fairly easy. If you're looking for an easy class I would recommend. The grade only consists of discussion posts and tests.
Easy, but boring. 1 weekly online assignment (discussion or test) 20% Weekly discussion boards, 1 pt grade scale (if you did/didn't do it). Assigned reading, but not required to pass 60% Online tests every 3 weeks, specific to the lecture slides that he provides, but answers are easy to find 20% Final is research paper (easy and graded lightly)
Myer's was interesting in his lectures. I can see why people would say he's boring. Very low participation and class very little people show up. Grades based on weekly quizzes. One huge paper at the end of the term which determines most of your grade.
Professor Myers' lectures were entertaining and interesting. One test every other week that is about 16 multiple choice questions and is very easy. The only assignment is 1 discussion post a week which is very straightforward, if you complete it you will likely gain full points. Professor Myers is probably the best economics professor at SDSU.
Do not take this class if you can. Professor is alright, he is fair. Grading criteria for writing assignments is not clear, unfortunately. The absolute WORST of this class is the amount of reading! SO MANY BOOKS (ENTIRE BOOKS). You just won't have enough time in the week to have a life and do the weekly readings for this class. Good luck...
Easiest class you can take your test at home. all the answers are in chegg or any other website.
He just yaps all lecture for 2hr 40 a week and very critiquing.
Easily the best Economics professor at SDSU. Attendance is Not Mandatory. Your grade consists of a weekly discussion assignment where you post your discussion and reply to two other classmates. 6 tests all semester but you can take them at home and it's all online so it's pretty easy to get a good grade on it. Overall, 10/10, would def recommend.
Professor was straightforward in their approach, and the class content was clearly outlined in lectures, making it easy to follow along. Could be a bit blunt at times. Focus on class discussions and the tests. While the professor's demeanor might not be the most engaging, if you stay on top of the material, you should be just fine.
Easiest class on Earth, went to class the first 2 weeks of the semester and never went again. The only assignments are the discussion posts and the online tests, so it's so easy. It's an easy A and would take again. 10/10 recommend if you want an easy A.
You either love or hate Dr. Myers. I loved him! He pushes you to be creative and be a better writer. He can come off critical, but he is really just preparing students for real-world scenarios. fun assignments. Do the reading discussions and show up to class to get points He's a fair grader and provides feedback. Def kooky but super intelligent!
