Neuman is one of the best teachers I've ever encountered. If you love literature or film, this guy will open your eyes to things you would never have even thought of before. He's heavy on the writting, and you'll have to work hard to make an A.

Professor Neuman lets the students know exactly what they need to do to get the grade they want. He gives many opportunities to bring up test grades. His sense of humor keeps the class fun and interesting. English is not easy; he is the best.

I liked him, then after I got my 1st paper back, I hated him(I left all my pride in Comp 1), then when I made it to the end, I loved him again! He is frustratingly hard, but very good- like boot camp for English. We did lots of thinking & writing. But I KNEW how to write when I got out of there

Mr. Neuman went to great extremes to explain in detail each point he was trying to get across by giving examples that were clear and easy to understand

I had him for English Comp 1 & 2. Even though English is already easy for me, his class was a breeze! He is heavy on writing research papers, so if you don't know how to do that, you'll definetly learn from him! I got a B in Comp 1 & an A in Comp 2- I even got a friggin' 100 on that Matrix paper!!

Awesome teacher. He doesnt like grades and beleives they only reflect your knowledge at that point in time so he will often times throw out the lowest grades of papers or tests! He is very interesting to listen to and the whole class is done in groups which has turned out to be very helpful

I had him for the fall semester of 04. We kinda butted heads somewhere and he even kicked me outta class! I'll throw away my bias and judge his class on a purely objective basis ... I'd highly recommend him. He's knowledgeable and fair. Friendly too (as long as you're on his good side)!

Mr. Neuman, is very good at teaching, he does have an unorthodox way of teaching, however it really does work. I highly recommed him to anyone.

Neuman is a great teacher. I actually enjoyed going to his class. He makes you work hard, but will help in any aspect he can. He is very good at explaining things in a way you can understand, and makes sure you are well prepared for tests. I would definately take his class again.

I had him and he opened my eyes to so much. Plus we watched some cool movies. haha but he was there when i needed someone to talk to and he wasnt a prick like most guy teachers.

What a hottie! It was so difficult for me to consentrate because man he looked good! Excellent class too! i learned to appreciate symbolism in movies especially.

Mr. Neuman is a brilliant nut - the workload in his class is insane, but if you have any interest in literature, writing or film, you will come away with something valuable and worth remembering. He is passionate about getting knowledge into your head, so don't bother taking this guy if you are lazy or don't like to show up to class!

This instructor is great! Actually has something to say and expects you to have something to say back. The work load was challenging but very rewarding too. I would recommend this teacher if you want to have something to take with you for life when the class is over. Really good prof.!!!

I had him for Contemp Lit. in Fall 08. He is kinda crazy but an amazing teacher. He makes assignments easy to understand and is helpful if you are confused. His exams were SUPER easy for this class. Talk a lot in group discussions and you will always be on his good side!! TAKE HIS COURSES!!

The best teacher I have ever had in any subject! This is not an easy class or teacher, but you will learn SO MUCH in his class. IT is challenging and the dynamic between him and students is the best I've seen. I will take him for any class that he teaches!

Works us hard to make us think. My thinking has dramatically improved. And he's hilarious and so so smart.

Look I hate English and I hate to read with a passion. Mr. Neuman is the best professor Ive ever had. Im not going to lie he is hard but you are challenged to learn. Its not an easy course but Mr. Neuman breaks it down to your level. This is a must take class.

I for one love this class. Types of people like the last two clearly don't understand that this guy let you discuss about major events in the literature that we are reading and also this by far one of the greatest teachers you'll come across while at PJC. Very interesting, extremely fun, for a lit class. Neuman is the definition of how a college professor should be. He knows his stuff, encourages you to think outside the box. Respects students ideas and opinions. Delves into risque material appropriately. You can get by if you just read sparknotes, but he assigns really great books and comics.

I love Neuman. Thought at first he would be a prude but is a really great teacher. You can tell that he really loves to teach the subjects that he teach.

i took todd nuemans class in the summer term of the yera 2010. he is an amazing teacher. makes you think about things you normally wouldnt. his class was fun and i really enjoyed going. i hated high school but this was mildly fun. some essays and easy quizes. but i made a B. no one failed that term. Overall he is the best professor that ive had.

Todd Neuman teaches in a way that all educators should. He is passionate about learning and passionate about life in general. this was my first college English comp class, and Neuman made me feel at ease almost immediately since he is easily relatable and speaks openly. Do NOT take this class unless you're comfortable talking in front of everyone everyday. He's extremely nice one day, and rude the next, but his class is easy as long as you participate in the discussions. I wouldn't take him again.

He is the ideal teacher to take for a contemp lit class. He proved to be a typical teacher if he wasnts to be but he loves making his students learn from what they are reading. I highly recommend taking his class(es) if you want a good understanding of how a writer thinks.

Mr. Nueman is by far one of the best teacher I have had at PSC. He has a passion for what he teaches. Yes, you do write a lot but the in end it's all worth it. You leave the class becoming a better writer. He explains well the material and if you ever need his help he is always there after the 24 hour rule he has after grading papers.

Professor Neuman is by far the best teacher ive ever had. If you pay attention and do your best on assignments he develops a respect for you. Once youve gained his respect he is an extremely helpful teacher. Use the templates in the LB Brief book, they help. Expect to write a ton. Its hard at first but easy at the end.

He is AMAZING.He gets to know everyone and has classes that learn how to relate to text through the universal intellectual standards(look them up).Class is not hard but I learned wayyyyyy more in his class than any other english/literature class.I promise, if you participate in discussions, you will pass! :) :) :)

Prof. Neuman is smart, outgoing, personable, fun, and really gets you thinking. You don't just learn about english in his class. You can apply his lectures to life. He encourages group interactions. Absolutely no tests. A lot of writing, but he is easy on grading and helps you develop your writing along the way. You will come out a better writer.

Neuman was my first class of the day and it was the only one I looked forward to! The class is not only English, but life lessons. The work is not terribly hard, but it does require REAL work. If you want a teacher that actually cares about you succeeding in life, this is the guy!

I absolutely loved Mr. Neuman. He is a funny German guy. He is really nice but can be harsh. Also he is not afraid to mess with you and loves it when you add your personality to your writing. If you do not like one to one kinda teaching then I do not suggest him because he will get up close and personal.

Neuman is an amazing teacher. He pushes you and challenges you to think for yourself instead of just taking what has been fed to you. I had him for 3 semesters and loved every minute of it. He will make you bust you butt in English comp with the writing, but you come out as a better writer at the end. Highly recommend him if you want to learn!

Awesome dude. If you want to have a teacher absoulty capture your attention , and teach you great things this is the teacher to take. He opens your eyes to see Literature in a very differnt way their is alot of class participation, so you best read the material.

Very easy class. A majority of our quizzes were verbal so have a layout of all you wish to discuss and you'll breeze through it.

Wonderful inspiring teacher. One of his lectures about being your own hero and what hero's have as traits changed my life utterly. It made me cry. I will always remember him. WISE MAN love his unique teaching style

Love this man. He is inspirational. If you take him-and you should-don't focus on a grade. Really attempt to learn something and I guarantee you he will open your eyes. He is so smart, cultured and a true romantic. Be prepared to fall in love.

Neuman is a fantastic professor.His lecture style tended to be more conversational. He cared about the students a lot, and even mentored me a bit. He also incorporates subjects for our writing that have deep meaning. Overall, Neuman is an A+ teacher. Don't hesitate to take him!

Best. Teacher. Ever. READ THE BOOKS. He gives his all in his class and expects the students to do the same. Only one paper. Small quizzes about the books. Mid-term and final was a class discussion.

Still taking this class and I am dreading the end of semester because his class has changed my life. I see the world differently and am so grateful for professors like him! Lots of reading and discussions so do your hw and get involved! But you will love how enlightened you feel leaving! Take his class- I guarantee you will not regret it!!

Don't take this class if you like dry cut schedules that say what you're doing every day. Although spontaneous, he makes sure to truly teach something about life every class period. There's a lot of reading, but if your class will work with him he's willing to allow class discussions replace tests and most papers.

Neuman was the best English teacher I have ever had. There are a ton of class discussions and if you don't like to talk a lot it can be awkward but he understands. He's so inspirational and really can tell he loves teaching and loves each of his students.

I took Professor Neuman for both ENC1101 and ENC1102. He is easily my favorite professor.

Professor Neuman is a really good teacher, who actually takes an interest in the students and our learning.

I thought he was a harsh in the beginning but he turned out to be nice and helpful. Don't skip class. The essays he assigns are very inspirational, he likes to get into egocentric topics and touchy stuff. He's also pretty funny, he gets distracted easily though, and he cuts class early often. You get a fair amount of group work but its basic stuff

Prof. Neuman is an excellent professor who truly cares about the well being of his students. I had to miss a few classes due to family reasons, and he was extremely understanding. Neuman is someone who truly desires for his students to learn, hence the great discussion environment. Very intellectual, very helpful, very much a human. A++ Professor.

This class goes beyond the typical "read-this-and-then-we'll-take-a-quiz-to-make-sure-you-read-it" literature class. Mr. Neuman relates the material to life, so be prepared to think long and hard. Be prepared for discussions. My class wrote 0 papers, but not all classes are the same. Grade was 100% discussion-based.

LOVED LOVED LOVED Amazing teacher and you never knew what was to come out of his mouth next. Be ready to write and to think outside of the box. One essay he made us break a social norm which was really weird but he does stuff like that so you just have to be ready for whatever he throws out at you! Loved the class and his teaching style.

This was by far my favorite class that I have taken at PSC, and one of the most difficult. Though it was difficult, and I really had to work for my grade, I enjoyed the class. Prof Neuman is very nice and helpful. He gives good feedback and will help you if you need it. We worked in groups which was helpful. We also did several large discussions.

The first thing that I would have to say about Mr. Neuman is that he is a very well respected man. The class was nothing like I was expecting from a English class but I really enjoyed his teaching style. The class is mostly discussion based, show up to class because he does NOT accept late work. Funny guy. Do you work and you'll get an easy A.

I was profoundly impressed with (and by) Mr. Neuman. Both classes were primarily discussion based. His premise: get involved, truly learn and understand the material, and stay focused on asking meaningful, thought-provoking questions that transcend full understanding. Tips: Show up to class, listen to those around you, and speak your mind.

This professor makes class so challenging but exciting. Never missed a day because I looked forward to what each new class had in store for me.

Prof Neuman is a great teacher. He is very discussion based and keeps everyone engaged with topics that won't bore you to death. Several papers but only one paper. Great with communication and willing to help when you need it. If you show up, put in the effort, and participate in the discussions you will make an A easily. Def reccomend.

While yes, you definitely learn the material, youre doing it all on your own. He decided our class could be discussion based, meaning just the students discussed the material (after coming up with our own questions) every single class. It gets to be exhausting. Id like to hear the profs opinion on the material as well.

If you are looking for more than just a class about literature, if you want to connect literature to life and look at the world in an entirely new way, this is the Professor for you.

Neuman is amazing!!!! His teaching style is so different than most prof. His classes are discussion based (as long as the class participates) so as long as you do your homework reading and contribute to the discussion, you'll get a good grade! I learned so much in this class and I love how he relates everything to everyday life. He's funny too!

After reading a review on here referencing Neuman grading females more harshly, I almost chose a different instructor. Instead, I decided, if this was true I would rise to the challenge. However, Neuman proved to be one of the most unbiased people I have met. I would have missed out on an incredible adventure had I switched.

Mr. Neuman's lectures are very interesting and thought-provoking. I enjoyed the material assigned. He is very intelligent and is available for any feedback requested and is very helpful.

Professor Neuman taught me American Literature and completely changed the way I view reading. Our class was discussion primarily and reading the assignments was necessary. If you miss class youll miss information only given in class.

A cool guy to listen to

Neuman is my favorite professor hands down. My class was discussion based. Just so long as you read the material and really apply critical thinking to what you read, you will do just fine. If you don't offer much during discussions, you will have to take a very brutal final. Honestly, I could listen to that man talk for hours.

I took Professor Neuman for Contempt Lit and I absolutely loved the class. You have to show up to class or you will not pass. Make sure you participate in the class discussions and you will do fine. He also does pop quizzes on the homework so make sure you read what is assigned! He was a great professor and is so funny! Best wishes!

A great guy my first professor. He could see my struggles with writing and helped me target those and make me a better writer. Very friendly down to earth guy. Hilarious as well definitely had some great laughs in his class.

This is my 3rd class with Prof. Neuman and I will take as many as I can with him! If your class can manage getting a discussion-based class (or if you're "outdoor cats" as he puts it) then you will get more out of this class than any other. The reading is a lot but the discussions make the material really palatable and you get SO MUCH out of it!

Really funny, and very nice. Essays are a huge part of his grading, but he does give you the opportunity to receive feedback and ask questions. Does not accept late work, under any circumstance. Other than that, he's awesome.

Professor Neuman is my favorite professor so far. I took him with 1101c and I'm and will again for AML2010 this upcoming semester. I thought I was going to hate his class because of how he mentioned we'd be writing an essay every week (we did), but he was always available and transformed how I write papers and process information. Real fun class.

This class discusses explicit topics and a couple of people dropped it because of the material we covered. If you're sensitive you might want to reconsider. Overall it was the best class I have taken so far and the discussions actually get you thinking. He grades leniently, as long as you submit the work you will do fine.

Take his class! Words cannot express how much I love this teacher. He really takes time to teach and has an overall theme to the class which makes it much easier. Now, I will say, he does expect you to read and do the work, but it is worth it. The literature he askes you to read isn't the boring usual stuff, too. We watched a few movies too.

Mr. Neuman is hands down the most fun professor I have had. I had him for a zoom class but I still felt engaged the whole time. He allowed for a lot of participation. He requires a lot of reading and legitimate critical thinking. As much work as the class had, he graded very nicely and made that class very enjoyable.

I was doing good in his class then I went through a very hard time and was hospitalized for mental health. I went in to talk to him and he took me to another room away from the class and we talked for 30 minutes, where he was so kind and gracious, and thanked me for coming back. He allowed me to catch up as I could and offered so much support.

Best English Teacher EVER. Always looked forward to this man's lectures and wisecracks. Quick witted and caring, he will make arrangements for people who need them, but they aren't reserved for slackers! One of the best teachers at PSC by far, if only he could teach me every Literature and English class I need to take!

He's very fun and chill, like his class, and it's pretty easy. Essays aren't bad, though there are also discussion assignments almost every week that you need a few hundred words on. He does group discussions, and I'm personally not a fan of anything group related, but I liked those.

really nice, funny professor. very interactive class. attendance is mandatory, he will drop you for too many absences. his grading criteria is very clear, and he isn't a super tough grader. very willing to work with students to improve and make sure they understand what is asked of them!
