Probably the worst professor I have ever had. Personally, he's a nice guy, but he was rarely prepared for class, did not seem to have a mastery of the subject he was teaching, often times said one thing then the next week did something else. I got an A in this class, but it was despite his teaching. Many more complaints, but not enough space.
AWFUL EXPERIENCE! Never checked his emails so i could never get a hold of him. Couldn't explain the simplest concepts, he was constantly corrected by 2 ppl in the class cuz he never knew what he was doing. tests were nothing like the hw (which took hrs to do!) or the examples on the pwr pts. Never was prepared for class. Nice guy, awful teacher.
Really did not know how to teach. Was knowledgeable in chemistry but not skilled in explaining chemistry. Got an A in both lecture and lab but only because of curves he granted. Take another chem professor, if possible.
He definitely has his own unique way of presenting the material. However, Dr. Windman always made himself available during or after class to help you grasp a concept. He is very personable and I believe he wants his students to understand. Chemistry is a tough class. He went above and beyond to help me get through it with a decent grade.
Took this class during summer session. Dr. Windman was a very good teacher and would take the time to demonstrate problems and go over the quizes and even the exams. Whilst I earned an A in the class, overall it was challenging and I had to work at the class; significant study is required. I can thoroughly recommend Dr. Windman.
nice person but was never prepared and confusing. I got an A as he curves heavily.
Todd does not teach outside of the textbook. His "lectures" are all PowerPoint slides straight off of the textbook, even for the in-class practice exercises. Never challenges the students to think scientifically, only memorize. His answers to questions are vague, and he is unhelpful when it comes to broader explanations outside the textbook.
Dr. Windman was very helpful with things I did not understand, and was very flexible with the class about assignments and due dates. I would definitely recommend.
One word comes to mind after my semester with Dr. Windman, DELAYED. Everything from online message responses to my final grade posting( which at this point he has still not posted) was delayed. He was constantly corrected by students for simple calculations in lecture, and was over critical with lab write ups. Nice guy but bad instructor
Everything from online message responses to my final grade posting( which at this point he has still not posted) was delayed. He was corrected often by students for simple calculations in lecture, and was over critical with lab write ups. Nice guy but his lectures where directly from powerpoint, confusing, and didn't match the material on exams.
So, this isn't one of those classes where you can get away with just taking notes from lecture. You have to study the text and spend a lot of time on homework problems. That being said, he was very accommodating to the class. My only complaint would be that the online homework was unfairly difficult.
Taken in summer. There were a total of 4, 25 question multiple choice tests including the final and the final could replace your lowest test score. Study the questions he gives you and work through the homework and this class should be a piece of cake. Ask him questions and he will do everything he can to make you understand. I would recommend him.
Dr. Windman is one of the much better Chem teachers I've had. He's very clear with his lectures, always has time for questions, and probably actually enjoys his job. Great sense of humor. Consistent with grading, following the syllabus, material, etc. Lab with him was very helpful.
Lectures are helpful and he gives quizzes for participation points, yet this barely affects your grade. Tells lame science jokes that were sometimes funny in an ironic way. Reminds me of Craig Feldspar from Malcolm in the Middle. Does not curve or offers extra credit and doesn't seem to care about helping boost students grade. Put in time to pass.
Had him for summer, He was clear when he taught and was very quick to have stuff graded and up. He would literally have our grades posted almost 20 minutes after class. He responded to all my emails in a timely manner. class was great, with the only exception being that his practice tests never correlated with what was on the actual test.
Nice guy,not a great teacher Lectures are excruciating and confusing, he has no creativity to teachings Only 3 tests and a hmwk grade +final, not much to wiggle room I Sugst doing practice problems, read your chapters His practice exams are similar to his exams, take advantage of the tutoring centerThey are greattough subject, bad teacher.
10/10. Great Lab teacher, would take again.
I enjoyed Dr. Windman's Lab class. He taught the material clearly and is very understanding. Come to class prepared and you will do well.
Dr. Windman is a great guy. He has quirky humor. Took him for Chm151 Lab. Come to class prepared and you'll do well. He's so willing to help, especially when he sees you putting in effort. Easiest A I've ever worked for.
Not a tough grader, but he will dock you if your labs show you don't understand the concepts. Easy going. Will help with labs as you are doing them. Likes to crack jokes. A lot of work because some of the lab packets demand it, but he's a fair grader. You won't get tests back. Clear about everything. Doesn't grade prelabs until whole lab due
I loved everything about this class, even its moments of pure uncertainty. Todd Windman is a rare gem. His sense of humor, unbeatable. The subject matter is tough. Spend extra time outside of class reviewing the power points. Tests are concept heavy. Demonstrate that you thoroughly understand data calculations on lab reports. No textbook required.
He's truly great. Clear and hilarious lecture, breaks down complicated concepts. Helpful outside class, and gives generous extra credit. Took it during the summer and not many homework were given. Tests weren't too hard if u do his practice exam. Nice and funny guy!
It was a summer course so there was a lot of material to cover in a brief amount of time but overall Dr. Windman did a great job. Very approachable and willing to help.
I had Dr. Windman for lab, and his report criteria is hard. Despite the lab report, an A in the class wasn't hard, you just have to fix what he says is wrong and then you get a gift notebook grade to help raise your grade and he drops the lowest lab.
Dr. Windman is probably one of the best professors I've had. He is clear and concise in his explanations and encourages questions. Highly personable and reasonable if you have issues. I was dreading this class but I passed with a grade higher than I anticipated going in. One warning: be prepared for major groan-inducing chemistry jokes.
Todd Windman is amazing. He has practice exams you can do and ask question about. If you follow the lectures and study for the test, with the practice exams, you will get an A. Note: some questions on the practice test are word for word on the exam. However, you still have to know chemistry for the majority of the exam.
Todd Windman usually starts class with a funny video. It really helps people be happy during lecture. If you study and ask question you will get an A.
If you understand the Homework and do the practice exams he has then you will get and A on every test (just remember to study). He is super nice and funny. He really wants you to do well so if you talk to him outside of class he will help you do well.
He's a great professor with a vast knowledge of applications per each topic he discusses. His exams expect you to read and understand the concepts of each section. I'd recommend reading the chapter and truly understanding the material as his exams require this for an A. Work hard and participate and you'll do fine in the class. He's fabulous!
Would highly recommend, don't even consider another teacher. Super smart, always has an answer or some knowledge on any question presented to him. Funny and made class interesting. Only complaint: lab is difficult. Long reports and tough grading but lots of chances to raise grade (drops lowest, lab notebook graded). Nevertheless, would take again!!
Todd windman is simply amazing! Chemistry is hard for many people. However, Dr Windman explains the marterial clearly. He is availble outside of class if you need him. So, STUDY and you will get an A.
He offered extra credit and is availble after class. If you try, then you will do well.
He make chemistry interesting and fun. He will often have funny videos at the begining of class. If you want to learn this is the class to take. He is availble outside of class if you need help.
I had Todd over the summer. He is a great professor, if you study well you will do well in his class. He give old test and study guide and the problems are very similar to the actual test (typically not the same, different numbers etc.). He is always available if you need to talk with him. OVERALL GREAT PROFESSOR!
Todd Windman is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He teaches the material while and goes over it before tests, to ensure you will do well. He is a great professor.
Absolutely amazing. Hes goes over every review before exams, is very humorous, and all around an easy 5/5. If you have the option, take him over any others.
Best professor i have had in a long time. Very nice but hard grader. He is more than willing to help you and explain things. He is hilarious and patient.
Really good professor. Test are a little difficult but has extra credit and homework points. A really funny guy his jokes are really funny. Really recommend taking. Willing to stay after class and help if need to be. Sometimes hard to understand because so smart.
Lab is really boring but he makes it fun. There is a lab report for each lab which is a little hard but he makes it bearable. He drops the lowest grade. Really recommend taking him.
Tough class, but a great professor. I would take all my chemistry classes from him if I could. He makes himself available outside of class and offers reviews before exams. Extra credit offered to help bring your grade up!
Dr. Windman is a great professor and is really willing to help understand tough concenpts. He makes classes interesting and jokes around at times. Ask him to play the videos of the guy electrocuting himself.
Dr. Windman is very involved with the teaching his students. He makes it a point that everyone understands the material to their best ability. I recommend anyone to take Chemistry with him. He is very hilarious and caring!
Great professor! He makes his lectures engaging and fun, he is very clear about how he grades. Taking him for a summer class was an injustice, would have loved to have him for a full semester! Respects your time and understands when things are overwhelming, explains things clearly and answers every question, makes himself available outside of class
Great lab professor! If you take him for lecture and lab you get a really good holistic view of the course. He is available for questions during lab and explains the lab before you do it. He will also go over the calculations for your lab report when they're difficult!
Dr. Windman is a great professor. The tests are a little difficult, but he has reasonably close practice exams to study from. Funny guy, gives students a fair amount of leeway, and there's lots of extra credit opportunities for the taking (You'll need it if you're not a great test taker).
Dr. Windman was a great lab professor. He was very helpful in lab and gave good feedback on lab reports. The lab reports can take a while, but once you know what he wants, they're not too bad.
Dr. Windman is, well, he is the best. I excel in Science, except for chemistry. He explains concepts better than any professor I have ever had. If I had any questions, he met with me during his office hours, a lot. If you struggle in chemistry, and want to pass, don't take anyone else. I drove quite a distance just to take him. It is worth it!!
By no means is chemistry easy. However Dr. Windman is amazing at explaining every concept. He is available before and after class if your struggling to understand any concept and need help. He will explain it to you in a way that you understand. My advice is to not be afraid to ask questions or for help Dr. Windman will help you. He is amazing.
Tough class no matter who you take it from, but Windman tries to help out where he can. Generous with points, but still have to work for it. Multiple choice tests make it hard because of complicated chemistry problems with many opportunities to make errors. Windman is amiable and easy to work with.
Labs for chemistry are always a lot of work. Difficult lab reports required a lot of time and effort to get good scores. Very particular on how labs should be written. The actual labs were good and Windman was helpful. Windman is very easy to get along with and gives generous points once you know what he expects. Good professor, overall.
Dr. Windman is a amazing professor. He gives you practice exams, extra credit, and his tests are related to what he covered in class. He is fun and will make the class be fun too. He will give you even his personal time if you have question. He is a good instructor, easy A if you follow the class, do your homework and his practices exams.
Dr. Windman cares about the topic of chemistry, and making sure his students understand the material. Chemistry is not an easy topic, but if you put in the work, you will pass his class. He gives practice exams and the tests are all based off of covered material. If you need extra help, he is almost always available outside of class.
Dr. Windman is an intelligent professor. He truly cares about his students and is always available for help. 152 Lab is paper heavy, but he makes the work doable. He grades reports quickly and gives fantastic feedback. Do the reports and you will pass.
Todd Windman is a truly superb professor and he really does go out of his way to make sure you understand the topics and concepts discussed in lecture. He is also very hilarious and gives great lectures all around. The tests arent too bad, but make sure you allocate enough time to study for them and you should be fine!
The lab portion of Dr. windmans course was quite difficult especially in the summer semester. There were about several reports to be typed, some being due weekly while up to two would be due in the same week. If you are having any trouble with the labs, make sure to get help from Dr. windman as he is very helpful and gives great feedback as well.
Dr. Windman is a great instructor. He takes his time explaining the material and will meet with you outside of class if you need help. The homework load is manageable and there are practice exams which are similar to the exams. You won't regret taking his class.
Dr. Windman has a traditional lecture style following his power points, but he is very good at explaining difficult concepts in smaller settings. He is very willing to help students and even gives extra time on assignments for students from time to time if asked. Overall a reasonable class, with a fair amount of work.
Dr. Windman has a traditional lecture style following his power points, but he is very good at explaining difficult concepts in smaller settings. He is very willing to help students and does not have very much homework. Overall a reasonable class, with a fair amount of work.
The labs weren't very difficult and never took the whole class time to complete, but the lab reports required an unnecessarily large amount of work and attention to detail. He gives good feedback about what you can improve on the reports, but its almost impossible to get 100% on them and they take a lot of work to get an A on. 5+ hours each easy
I took this class for as a summer course, so with it being fast-paced, I'd say the class is difficult. However, Dr. Windman took as much time needed to go over any questions and was very open to meeting with students outside of class for extra help. Although he doesn't take attendance, if you show up to lecture and ask for help, you'll pass!
I took this lab during summer session, so the work load was very crammed with lab reports every week and 2 labs a week. The papers were repetitive and arduous, but he grades fairly. I never got anything under an 88 on my papers. The class is also only graded based on the reports, the lab notebook at the end of the session, and a lab final.
Dr. Windman was a great chem professor. He got straight to the point and didnt really talk about unnecessary things. He also related many of the topics to real life which made it easier to comprehend. Would take another one of his classes again!! He also has great jokes.
Dr. Windman is a great teacher. However, it is important that you take the time outside of class to study on your own to understand the material. He is almost always early to class, and make himself available when needed. Very funny, and makes lecture enjoyable with a little comic relief. Offers extra credit, thankfully! This is a tough subject!
Dr. Windman is extremely knowledgeable and does his best to make chemistry as digestible and entertaining as possible. The summer course is fast, you must put be willing to complete all homework assignments and put in time and effort if you want to succeed. He is more than willing to answer questions and help you one on one.
Awesome professor. Chemistry is hard no matter what, but he provides comic relief and provides help if you need it. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT.
Having a lab partner was optional, which was nice. The lab reports were annoying only because he was a tough grader but you'll get used to it as the lab goes on. Hes super helpful and the labs were never difficult. If you show up and do the work you'll be fine:)
Lab is a lot of fun with Dr. Windman. Its a lot of work, but not a difficult A as long as you put in the time and do your work. Would definitely take classes from him again!
Very smart guy with a great personality. Will hold you accountable when it comes to truly knowing the information. Provides study guides and extra credit opportunities but you must work to earn it. Very understanding and will work with you if needed.
Mr. Windman is a great professor. I must say he is quite a comedian with chemistry jokes, and teaches the lectures thoroughly, he usually provides examples of the problems that you might come across for any exams. Always make sure to ask questions. He is a little tough on grading lab reports, but he is willing to help, and give extensions if needed
His lectures were good, and his humor was better. I wish I could take more classes with this prof but this is the end of my chem line. I would recommend this teacher to any one.
One of the few professors i would recommend to take over the summer. Lots of extra credit, decent amount of homework, and gives practice test. Understand the practice test and you'll do fine, C minimum. Only downfall is homework is done through McGraw-Hill connect. If you want to take chemistry during the summer take this professor.
Tough grader but is willing to help. The lab is by far more time consuming than lecture, especially if taken during the summer. Be warned. Willing to extend lab due dates if asked. Not many office hours due to him being a new professor at MCC. He's getting an office now. A composition notebook can be used as the lab notebook.
You will not fail as long as you give even the slightest effort and if spend enough time, it is definitely an easy A.
Great professor overall! He was very specific yet simple to understand. Always willing to help you out outside of class. In terms of course work, paying attention and being proactive in lecture along with doing the homework will guarantee you an A. He offered extra credit, which extremely helped me better understand the topic.
Lab was very clear and straight forward. Professor expected class to read laboratory manual prior to class, which made it easier to understand experiments. He was always willing to help with questions and calculations after class.
Dr. Windman goes over the instructions for each lab providing us with great feedback on what he's expecting to see for the lab reports. The lab reports are tough , however Dr. Windman is willing to give an extension if needed. He also walks around during the lab experiments, if you get stuck he is there to help.
One of the best chem professors I have had, funny too. He goes through subjects thoroughly and does various examples in class. He doesn't take attendance so it is not mandatory but I would highly recommend going since he elaborates on topics. Homework is not too bad, he does offer a good amount of extra credit which can really save your grade.
He is a great professor, I had him for both CHM 152 and CHM 114. He is available outside of class, the tests are based on what we learnt in class, there are multiple practice questions in class, and no classes argon without a good pun. I learnt a lot in his class, concept wise and didn't feel stressed at all.
He is a great professor, I had him for both CHM 152 and CHM 114. He is available outside of class, the tests are based on what we learnt, he goes over multiple practice questions, and no classes argon without a good pun. I learnt a lot in his class concept wise and didn't feel stressed at all.
He is very good at taking complicated concepts and breaking them down in simpler terms for the class to understand. You of course have to put in the work and study, but he also offers extra credit if youre still struggling.
Definitely a rough class to take over the summer but there are a lot of extra credit opportunities to help your grade. Final replaces the percentage of your lowest exam if the final was higher so that helps too.
Lab is a lot more work than what I think most are expecting. On top of the physical lab you'll be turning in a lab report which requires quite a bit of time but the good news is he drops the lowest and you're able to get an A as long as you do the work. Keep a good lab notebook!
Dr wingman gives amazing lectures. he gives extra credit opportunities and is available outside of class. I would highly recommend taking him for chm152
Dr windman gives amazing lectures. he gives extra credit opportunities and is available outside of class. I would highly recommend taking him for chm152.
Mr. Windman was an excellent professor. If you needed more clarification, he would then elaborate more on the topic you were struggling with. In class, we always had practice problems which helped me understand majority of the concepts we were learning. I would have him as a professor again if I could.
The lab reports are cancerous. The labs themselves arent difficult whatsoever but the calculations are tedious and laborious. Dr. Wind man will do whatever he can to help and hes very considerate of your situation.
Dr. Windman was always incredibly kind and helpful. He provides timely feedback, one on one guidance, and sets clear expectations of what is needed in order to be successful in his class. This is a fast pace course with a heavy work load. However, Dr. Windman made it easy to understand and fun as well. Highly recommend enrolling in his course.
Funny guy. Goes more in depth from what you learn in CHM130, often times answering questions you didnt know how to ask. Labs directly apply to what you learn in lecture. Easy cool fun labs. 3 tests: Table and Ions, Equations, and Stoich. You study, you pass easy. Blow off lab, prepare for a grade hit. Works with you if sick. Explains concepts well.
Funny! Hes a great punster. Rough start w/ lots of memorization. But clinch nomenclature and youre good, so jump on that asap. Often gave us useful mnemonics like OILRIG. Take notes on lectures, sometimes hell work a problem in the homework. If you finish early, you can leave early! For those who struggle, maybe take chm090 first.
Professor Windman is my ideal professor. He is extremely smart and does a good job at explaining the content. I was truly excited to go to his lecture every time. I'm glad I got a chance to be taught by him. He really cares about his students. Hes also a very humorous guy!!
Dr. Windman was great, I loved having him for lab. Hes a funny guy and cares about his students. Make sure you do well on the labs, if you do bad on them it can really affect your grade. Theres three exams and a final, but theyre not too hard as long as you put in effort and study. Definitely recommend him.
Awesome professor! I loved his class. He makes it very interactive and you have so many opportunities to get help!
The lectures are very captivating, exams are moderately difficult, and homework is dull and long but do them anyways as they are a very good buffer. The lab is very difficult and tedious so ask him for assistance as well as highly recommend becoming acquainted with Excel . Apart from that, Dr. Windman is a great professor and extremely funny.
I had him for 152 lecture and lab. He truly cares about his students and is always available to help. There is a lot of homework assigned in lecture, BUT it's good practice and brings your grade up significantly. The lab reports can be long and tedious, but he answered all of my questions and actually made lab enjoyable! He is a GREAT professor!
Explains things well & makes sure you understand before moving on. Accessible outside of class to explain any topics further. All tests were 5-10% off due to incorrect grading initially. Hw was loosely related to the lec. Offered a free textbook that was loosely related to the hw as well. Shame the lec class is so disorganized. Fantastic lab.
Professor doesn't teach, he expects you to know all the material, including what you're supposed to do in the lab, before class as he won't go over it. I'm usually an A student, and I worked hard to make this class work, however, even after getting help from the tutoring center nothing was enough to raise my grade. I had to drop it.
Dr. Windman is a nice guy, but his class set up makes no sense. The homework hardly matches what is in the textbook. His expectations are vague and his lectures also do not match up with what is on the tests. You will be teaching yourself ALL of the material, not knowing if you're studying the right stuff. Don't count on the lectures to help you.
Started the semester as a great teacher- took the time to answer questions, etc., even during the lockdown. These past weeks he has dropped the ball: un-responsive and unwilling to clarify topics once student surveys were turned in (classmates said the same). Disappointed as he was one of my favorite professors when the semester started.
He is a very approachable professor when you have issues with any of the material. CHM151 can be pretty difficult at times, but he does a good job simplifying it. What I like about his class is that all of his exams are multiple choice and aren't really that difficult if you work on the practice exam.
I was exited to take his class because he has really good reviews but I regret it so much. He does not care about students and offers zero help. I ended up dropping his class because no matter how hard I tried I always ended up getting a bad grade. He might be a good teacher but my experience taking his class online was awful and would never take
His lectures do not prepare you for the homework or tests. The homework is vastly different from his lectures. I had to teach myself the course. There's so much math involved but he briefly covers the formulas. He was available for online tutoring sessions but he didn't make me understand the concept any better.
Do not take him! Everyone in the class is failing because of his lack of teaching. He posts 5 minute lectures covering an entire chapter. The book is your only hope of learning enough to skate by. The homework is on a separate website you have to pay for. Roughly 5 to 8 hours needed weekly to complete the homework. My Chem tutor even disapproves.
Had him in person last semester before we switched to online. Lectures NEVER matched what was on the tests. Textbook didn't even go along with the tests. Expected to pull knowledge from thin air. Terrible at lectures and honestly a lazy instructor. Avoid at all costs and ignore the previous reviews, he's not as great as people made him out to be.
Worst Professor I've had. Just completed his online chem151 and he was pretty lazy. He made us pay 70 bucks for Pearson lab so he didn't have to teach us. This resulted in us spending HOURS learning material that was way off. His weekly lectures were mostly links to chemistry crash course and khan academy and some short videos he recorded.
The lab reports were straightforward but very time consuming. Dr. Windman makes his expectations clear and gives good feedback; he also responds quickly to emails to provide extra guidance if you get stuck. He also grades assignments quickly.
Dr. Windman is SUPER chill. Really nice guy who knows his stuff. His teaching was pretty clear and he was good at explaining things in ways that were pretty simple to understand. Assignments are pretty simple and straight forward. Just be there for all the labs and you're fine.
Dr. Windman is funny, understanding, and very easy to approach no matter how silly the question may be. He makes chemistry very understandable. If you study and complete the pre-labs/labs, you will be more than prepared for the quizzes/tests (which aren't too difficult either)! :)
He gives clear advice the first day of class on how to succeed in class. Be prepared for homework that takes a lot of time to complete, but helps you understand the concepts. He gives opportunity to earn extra credit if you go above 100% completion on the week online homework. He is funny and reasonable.
Professor was hilarious and taught well. Quizzes/ tests were doable with lots of studying. Final was a joke and he did not prepare us for that material. Lots of homework and be ready for labs to take a long time.
Windman was a wonderful professor. I liked him so much I took him for CHM151 and 152. Chemistry is a hard subject, so I first failed 151 with another professor, but Windman made chemistry doable and I passed the second time around thanks to his amazing class. I would definitely take him again.
I didn't really learn much in Chem 151 so I was nervous about this class in the summer but the teacher was great. He gives us a textbook for free but we have to buy Pearson. Gives extra credit homework, has tricky tests but they're easy if you take your time, no surprise info on tests, they are all multiple choice. Do your HW, listen to lectures.
Professor Windman is amazing! Easily one of my favorite professors at MCC. I took his class for CHM130LL, CHM151 lecture, and CHM152LL. He cares about his students and their success, but also expects them to work for their grade. He is a TOUGH grader, however, he also gives great feedback on how to improve. I definitely recommend taking his class!
i wouldn't recommend him. he use Pearson for homework. the Pearson questions are long, contain physics questions, and you won't see the same question on the test or exam. 85% of my classes are making the same complaints, i do not suggest anyone to take his class. also the homework (Pearson) cost around $150 out of the students pockets. Thank you
He was nice and some of his lecturing was interesting but it wasnt helpful pertaining to exams. Uses Pearson for HW and the questions are insanely more in-depth than the content on exams. Be prepared to spend at least 10 hours a week on it. Class av on exams = low Ds & class grade av also = low Ds. HW could save you but it's a lot. Don't recommend.
He is an amazing teacher. In lab, he is very helpful. When I ask him a question in the electrogravimetry lab, he helped me set up the lab and explained everything very well. He makes sure that the students have all the values that they need. When it comes to the final exam, just review your old test and you will be fine.
Very clear, concise, and articulate. Yes, this class is very hard, but I think that's Chemistry in general. If he gives you the homework that you can do extra on for extra credit, COMPLETE IT! It takes hours to fully complete each one, but doing all of it made my grade jump up 30% when the homework grades were put in the week the class ended.
I took his class for both CHM151 and CHM 152 and let me tell you, he is by far the best CHM professor. A ton of homework but A TON of EC opportunities TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT. His exams are fair, he gives you every tool you need to succeed and is willing to go through past exams with you so you're more prepared for the final. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!!
Windman is a great teacher! he explains things thoroughly which helps with a lab. he def cares about his students. be prepared to study a ton the first few weeks. when he says to study something, do it! i didnt take him seriously, hence the B. but his class is easy if you pay attention & ask questions. i would 100% take him again!
If you have an opportunity to take any classes Dr. Windman has to offer, take them! I had taken his CHM130 Lab and couldn't have asked for a better professor or class. He takes the time to answer questions, guide you through the labs, and give thorough lectures. The material takes some time to study, but it was worth it.
Chemistry is not an easy subject in general. You have to study a lot to be successfull not just show up for the class. There is also a lot of homework to do every week. But Professor Windman explains everything really good + helps during the lab if you have any questions. He has great sense of humor and is flexible about the due dates!
I took professor Windman for both lecture and lab as my first chemistry class and it definitely helped me out a ton! He explains the topics pretty well, and he's happy to help if you have any questions. His tests are a mix of multiple choice and written questions, but they're all based on what's discussed. Overall, great professor!
Chemistry is a hard subject for me but Dr. Windman made the lab very easy. As long as you showed up and turned in the labs eventually, he will give you credit. Gives the impression of being very strict, but is a very nice man and is willing to work with you and help you when you need it. Overall a very good stem professor!
I was nervous going into a CHM152 summer session, but Dr. Windman made it very enjoyable. He explains all concepts well and you can tell he's truly passionate about the subject. The exams directly reflect the lectures and study guides. This class does require quite a bit of effort, but that effort will result in an easy A.
Super nice instructor. Chemistry is not an easy subject by nature, so I can't be too critical. He expects a lot out of students and really makes you work for your grade. The lab reports were very tough and really took a lot of time.
He provided study guides for exams, which were relatively similar. Everything on exams will be on his powerpoints/homework. Homework can take a long time. DO AS MUCH EXTRA CREDIT AS YOU CAN. I got 70s on exams and had a C in the class, but the extra credit bumped me to a 94%! He gives good feedback and is understanding too!
Windman is a great chemistry prof - explains well, has a good sense of humor, and is flexible on due dates. The class has a heavy workload, but using unstuck ai and the free textbook helped me stay on top of it.
I took Dr. Windman's lecture and lab course of the same level. I had always disliked chemistry, honestly maybe I was afraid. And I struggled (but passed) in this class, and Dr. Windman comes off very stern initially, especially with how he stresses knowing the simple stuff early, rather than later. But he doesn't let you drown unless you choose to.
I left a review in his lecture course as I took both last semester. I want to tell anyone looking for a decent lab session for 130, Dr. Windman's lab honestly felt so much easier than lecture for me. Be prepared for alot of quizzes, but rarely did we use the whole lab time, and any extra time we had he always made himself available. Funny shirts!
Windman was really chill, even rounded my grade for me. I think my only complain would be the homework. We spend so much time on it and it accounts for so many points, but then the tests and exams are so much different from what's on the homework. Focus on just doing the practice exams because the actual exams are identical to them.
Professor Windman, although his lab reports are strictly graded and hard to get an A, by the end of the semester you learn how to write a good proper lab report. The labs weren't too hard and would give mini lectures before going in. He was always available after lab or out of class at his office hours, but I never needed to go.
Professor Windman is a great chemistry professor and really helped me understand it easily! He gives out practice exams which really help with each exam. I would definitely recommend taking him for CHM 130!
Professor Windman was a great teacher for intro to chem. The material itself can be difficult to understand but he found ways during lecture to make it easier and comprehendible. He offered alot of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester and pushed us to challenge ourselves through the exams and coursework.
This class is pretty easy-going with a knowledgeable professor who offers lots of extra credit. Windman is very lenient with hw. Just be aware that instead of a textbook, you have to purchase access to Pearson online homework for $100. It's helpful because it gives you hints, but the homework can pile up if you procrastinate. Majority of learning.
Mr. Windman himself is a great instructor. I used to only do online classes and this experience of being on campus this semester was very refreshing. I found the professor's teaching style made the material more accessible and engaging. Also, I'll add how the person's homework offers extra credit if you aren't a great test taker which is nice!
Dr. Windman is a fantastic professor, and his coursework is quite easy to get by with minimal effort. I myself never studied for any quiz or test, and still managed to do fine since most of the course is common sense. It's clear that Dr. Windman takes pride in teaching and does a great job during lectures. Overall, an amazing lecturer.
I enjoyed this teacher. He always had funny shirts on every day and made the material understandable.
The prof. was very professional and always willing to answer any questions. This class is great if you learn well from presentation lectures. With that being said, the assignments were online through Pearson Realize, I found that sometimes the homework didn't align with the lecture. However, he did offer extra credit for the homework assignments.
Professor Windman was great; he always tried to add a little humor, which I love, and he was always down to answer any questions and provide further explanations. It is a lecture-heavy class. And he offered extra credit.
I got a B because I didn't study for the final, but the whole semester I had an A right before the finish line. Dr. Windman is pretty cool.
He's a really nice guy. He's to the point at first but then will loosen up.
