This teacher is so AWESOME! He interesting and makes you learn in a fun way! He always starts out by asking a random question at the start of class to get everyone siked up and ready. He ALWAYS has something funny to say. He is an fair grader all you have to do is listen to instructions. simple as that. the essays topics are fun and interesting.

He's a great teacher, very helpful, easy to understand. I really enjoy his class, I would take him again for sure.

Mr Wright is so badass. hes so chill about pretty much everything except attendance. I missed a lot of classes so my grade was lowered, but don't let that turn you away. he has some of the most interesting topics for essays. we hardly read the book. the class was so awesome, he actually teaches you how to write, and how to close read. HIGHLY SUGGES

He is my favorite teacher since I started college.Cool, funny, smart and different from all other college teachers. Very chill classes, interesting topics, easy grading. When you don't know how to write or what to write about, go talk to him, he can inspire you. I an "A" in that class.And my first language is not even English.

Funny, laid-back professor that makes a subject so boring like writing interesting. The easiest A I have made in a writing class my whole life(I've made 100's on my papers and not the only one in the class). He grades mostly on content and not grammar. TAKE HIM IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE NO MATTER WHAT TIME THE CLASSES ARE

He is a fantastic teacher!! He's super laid-back and nice. I found his class difficult due to the amount of writing but felt he graded fairly and wanted his students to succeed. My two complaints are 1) it takes a while to get graded papers back and 2) he wrote few comments on my papers so I had trouble knowing what I was doing right or wrong.

Wright is a great professor! He's hilarious and makes the class fun. If you're not sure what to write about, he's really helpful in helping you to come up with a topic. He's a little tough grading but still very fair, and it's not impossible to get an A at all. You absolutely should take his class.

Let me say that Professor Wright is the best teacher I've had in my life. He is interesting, engaging, helpful, funny, all of the above. Not to mention his class isn't particularly difficult. So all throughout high school i hated writingenglish classes and i would never make above an B in them or be able to stay awake in them, professor wright's classes are really interesting and fun , writing wasn't too easy , you had to show effort and do work , but an A is veerrrry possible

Just take this class. You'll only write a few papers, not into quizzes or anything outside of pure writing. I'm considering this as a major, so it wasn't overly difficult, but I think it was a pretty low stress class in general. Fantastic teacher. He'll get you excited about the class, just put in the effort.

Mr. Wright rocks. He let us out 30 minutes early almost every class. He really wants to get to know his students and he starts off class with attendance by asking unique questions to get to know everyones personality. Class participation is necessary, but he doesn't force it. I'm shy and in his class I felt outgoing. Final is a group presentation.

Todd Wright might just be the best teacher I've ever had. His lectures are interesting and interactive and I loved going to class. He is by no means an easy grader; he'll give you what you deserve. If want an A you're going to have to work for it. Participating in class and going to office hours helps. By the end of the semester we were friends.

Even though I'm not an English major, taking his class made me feel like I should be. I learned so much! Professor Wright's lectures are really interesting and he knows how to get his students engaged in the topics. I would definitely take his class again if I had the option!!

Professor Wright is the best English teacher I have had in a while. His passion for writing is evident in most all of his lectures. Easily my favorite professor and class this fall semester. The course itself is challenging, in that you have write a total of 5 papers & a group pres., and that's all the grade you get for that class. Professor Wright is a pretty tough grader and takes attendance each class time. If I have to describe Professor Wright in one word he's a hipster.

Got him on accident b/c my AIS teacher was paired with his class and it was the best thing to happen to me. No reading assignments or anything like that- just papers and one group project. His stories were so interesting and he was such a nice, genuine professor. I looked forward to his class everyday. His classes fill up fast though so be quick!!

Professor Wright is awesome! He is so nice and his class is easy! Of course writing essays sucks, but he helps the process go smoother. I def recommend taking him!! 5 essays and 1 group assignment total. Going to class helps with participation points plus he never gave me a reason to dread going. He's so cool.

Best writing professor ever

This professor is by far my most favorite professor I have ever had. He is so funny and I think just all around amazing at his job.

Syllabus very specific, 4 papers , portfolio due as final , simple and straight to the point, and extremely hilarious!

I can not express enough how he sets the bar for writing. His class is well planned and is set up like it's rehearsed. You don't have to attend class, but this is honestly a class you don't want skip. He introduces writing in a way that is easy to comprehend and therefore makes writing easy to do. If you struggle with writing, he will help you!!

Absolutely love this professor! He is a extremely interactive with all of his students and knows each of us by name. He knows when to joke around and when to get to work. This class has a perfectly balanced environment and feels homey. The subject matter is interesting whether you like writing or not and you will not regret taking this class.

Honestly, I don't think there is many teachers as great as Mr. Wright. This man is funny and great, so if you ever get the chance to be in his class you'll understand. He is such a great professor, but you have to work for a good grade. Even attendance is an awesome part of his class as he is very interactive and likes to know his students.

Professor Wright is the best professor for this course. Honestly, if you have the chance to take his class and choose not too, I don't know what to tell you other than what you'll be missing out on. BEST professor at UTSA. Took him for WRC 1013 and now WRC 1023. Hilarious, and genuinely cares about his students. The assignments itself can be a little difficult, but he gives you plenty of time to complete them. Very easy to talk to guy, will never embarrass you in class, and is dedicated to helping you write the best papers you possibly can.

As a writer I have never received good feedback, I always get good scores but nobody ever suggested I go the next level. When I wrote an essay he said it was good but gave me pointers on what to do to make it even better, nobody has been able to do that. Besides that hes a hilarious and a caring guy, probably the best Writing Professor out there!

Professor Wright was one of my favorite professors this semester. He's super funny and easy to talk to. He doesn't grade unnecessarily hard and gives good feedback. You're supposed to buy 3 books but, you really only need the little roadrunner. You can miss up to 4 classes with no penalty. This was a really enjoyable class, take him if you can.

Wright is a great professor - his lectures aren't long, just go in for the credit and because there's group projects, and also he's really entertaining and funny. Ask for feedback on an essay, he'll really help you out. Don't take him if you're looking for a lot of guidance. If writing comes well to you, take his class!

Hes a great guy and his class is overall not bad at all. You get like 4 papers and an end of the semester project which is your final. Just put effort into your papers and do the attendance questions and you should be okay. Im not an amazing writer and was able to end with an A so its not too bad. Just start early and youll be ok.

Mr. Wright is overall a good professor. He makes his lectures not too long, and somewhat enjoyable. He gives you four papers, with the last one being a reflective essay. My biggest gripe is that he grades slowly and we had to write a reflective paper with only 66% of the material. All in all, just do the papers and you won't have a problem.

Professor Wright is great. He keeps his lectures short with no mandatory zoom sessions. He is a slow grader but I understand why.(Reading 150 5 page papers isn't fun) I do wish he explained his expectations in the first lecture instead of spreading it out. Sometimes we didn't get all the info we needed to successfully write until the end.

Prof Wright really cares about his students! The papers are not tough and he is clear with instructions. The prompts are fun and interesting so he knows how to engage the class. He is a little iffy on answering emails and will sometimes address your question in the lecture. Summer class had 3 papers, a revision, and a group project. Buy your books

i took his online class which was not bad at all because he didn't have zoom classes, he would post videos and you can watch it at your own convenience. his grading is lenient and he gives okay feedback. the essays aren't too bad, there are 5 but be prepared to write at least 5 pages for each essay.

Hes a literal king. Super nice and reasonable and really cares about students personally. Grades are really based on your effort but he is very understanding.

Professor Wright was super fun and laid back. We had weekly attendance questions, 4 papers and a group project for the semester. He will answer emails but takes time to get back to you so you might have to ask multiple times. He never really gave much constructive criticism for my papers which made improving my work difficult.

I had switched to Prof /wright a week after class started based on his reviews on here. He's a pretty normal, non-political guy. He tends to grade extremely late. But he also grades pretty leniently, with good feedback. He's a pretty inclusive guy who likes to get everyone involved in a discussion, without pushing an agenda himself.

Great teacher, I had the choice between him and Ms.Long, happy with the choice I made. He takes a long time to grade essays, you will probably be writing essay 3 before you get a grade on essay 1 but he is very nice and gives good feedback. He is also pretty funny on zoom so worth attending for sure. The only grades are essays, attendance, 1 group.

I loved professor wright. he's super funny and makes his lectures interesting and engaging. he also sends a video lecture on Thursday which provides helpful information. There are only 3 papers and he is a lenient grader which I appreciate and there is 1 group project which he also grades leniently. he made English fun would definitely take again.

75% of your grade is the essays, and he grades kinda hard. Your essays need to follow the rubric perfectly, perfect grammar, format, thesis, and just be written overall very well(lots of research and commentary) just to get an A. DO NOT just turn in the essays without trying your best.

contrary to what others are saying, i dont think he's a tough grader at all. im not the strongest writer, and the lowest grade he gave me was a 90. he is understanding with late work and with missing class. super cool guy. he takes awhile to grade things, but this will be in ur favor as he pushes back deadlines if hes late with something.

This is the best writing class I have ever taken!!! I have never been fond of English classes and never really succeeded with writing papers. This class has a lot of interaction with daily discussions that are very interesting. The professor if very easy to work with and the essays are not too bad we only had to write 3 if I recall.

The only grades were papers which were graded not too harshly. The classes were very enjoyable and he is a awesome professor.

His class is so laid back I almost started to enjoy writing. There are no other assignments besides a mandatory 3 essays which are graded super leniently. He also loves to talk and has the most interesting stories you'll ever hear every single class period. if you have half a brain and want a guaranteed A then please take his class he is amazing.

Professor Wright's class is a breeze - just three lenient essays and engaging discussions. His grading can be slow, but he's understanding and gives great feedback. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for essay prep. Highly recommend taking his class!

Don't get me wrong, he's a very good professor, and he's very understanding of his students. But he is NOT accessible outside of class and takes a LONG time to grade your papers, so you'll only know your actual grade at the end. Besides that, he's just a guy who enjoys engaging during lecture, nothing heavy. I would take him again.
