Best math teacher I have ever had.
Excellent math teacher!! Takes time until you understand everything!
Will cater to the class majority, but also helps individuals. Explains well.
Todd is a great teacher -- very concerned and will help as much as it takes

easy class, very helpful, listens to class
Todd is the best teacher this school has working. He is helpful, lenient, clear and a good guy. Take his class if you can.
Very helpful, and clear. Nice guy.
He subed for this clas a few times and I learned more from him than I did from my full time professor, who I understand is a dean. Yeah, some dean...
Todd Zoroya is a grizzzate tizzeacher.
Todd is so helpful... definitely take this class
GREAT TEACHER!!!!
Todd is the best teacher at this university, and he is damn hot! kudoes to you Mr. Zoroya, you fine piece of meat!!!
Goes out of his way to be helpful.

hard class cause i suck at math, VERY nice guy, he's awesome and wants you to do well....very willing to help you!!
Very nice guy. Will go out of his way to help a struggling student. Clear presentation of mathematics.
His class was better than my music class.
AWESOME professor,hands down!
He's a chunky cuddly looking guy who's really nice and helpful. Also, his tests aren't very hard and he explains things really well. Do the homework and you'll do great!
The man, the myth...the legend.
Todd is the man. ALWAYS willing to meet and help you with problems. I definately suggest if you need a math, to find one taught by him. Extremely nice and the tests are relatively easy- if you do your homework
Clear, Patient, fair and super nice guy. He seems to gauge the class's readiness for challenge so it's fair to everyone.
Does not know math
He should not teach. I don't believe he is hired to teach something he does not know at all.
I took Todd's College algebra class this summer, and although I am absolutly horrible at mathmatics, thanks to his willingness to work with me and his dedication to his students (that show a dedication to doing the required work)I was able to get an A. Thank you Todd for a job well done!
i took this same course with a different teacher who was terrible so i had to drop it. i took it again with todd and it was 1,000 times easier to understand. he's a nice guy too.
Todd is a great teacher--very helpful, very clear, and very understanding. I wish he taught more upper level maths...the professors I have had since taking this class have been horrible. Tests are fair. Grades fair. Overall--awesome! And he's an incredibly nice guy.
I am no math student, but Zoroya was very helpful and a good math professor. Clas meets once a week, 2 hours required in the Math Den for coursework. 3 tests, weekly quizzes and homework. The final can replace a test, if the final is better than a test. Got a B

Great teacher and wonderful guy
Easy class. Don't really even need to attend. Everything's done online.
Great professor. Willing to help any students that have questions. I love the class, he's a great guy. Get him as a professor if you can!
Very nice guy!
Todd is a very helpful professor and presents the material in a non-intimidating way. Take the den section if offered- easy A on 10% of your grade just for going to the den to do homework for 3 hours per week. I am TERRIBLE at math and I managed to get a C+ in precal with Todd as an instructor. Highly recommended!
Nice teacher. very clear. didn't make fun of the stupid questions. was very helpful and would meet with students anytime. Easiest A. Only complaint was the amount of time spent on any given topic. He answers EVERY question...
Todd is the most supportive math teacher. I didnt think math teachers like him even existed.
Great professor, Had a great approach for teaching the material. If you do not understand he is always more then willing to explain it in a way that may be easier for you to understand. Overall Great Professor!
Excellent professor and I loathe mathematics!
He's probably been my favorite teacher this semester. He's very friendly and is always willing to help you understand the material. Great professor.
Todd is really nice and makes an effort to learn students' names. He makes Statistics interesting and...dare I say it...EASY.
He made pre-calculus a breeze. Dare I say I actually loved math while taking his course. Great teacher and he uses excellent software.
Great instructor with a good sense of humor.
Class was fairly easy but he's impossible to work with. He strays from the syllabus and one on one was very rude. Treats you like a number unless you're one of his "favorites" that sit at the front of the class.
Todd is great! He's really helpful and approachable. He remembers everyone's name and really cares about his students! I recommend Todd to anyone!
Always 1/2 hr early if anyone has questions before class he's willing to work on a problem with you until you understand it. prompt with returning my math-lab questions. an all around decent guy. He is good about going through problems step by step in class. Ask questions because the final is a killer!!
Very nice, very helpful, very easy.
hes very understanding!!
Very helpful. I'm not good at math but he made Algebra understandable.
Todd was by far my personal favorite math professor that I could've ever asked for. This was my third class in a row that he taught. He was always very willing to listen to his students, any time a question was asked or when we needed more information on a subject; he'd always help us out. I give Todd the highest possible respect. Todd, YOU ROCK!
Todd is the best Math teacher I've ever had in my life. He is friendly, knows his stuff, and really cares about his students. He's a fair grader and makes all the hard stuff really easy to understand. If you have any opportunity to take a class with him do it. Even if it means waiting an entire semester to do so. You won't regret it!
Absolutely amazing teacher. Takes the time to get to know his students. I take every math course I can with Todd!
Currently taking the den version of statistics. Todd exceeded beyond my expectations of a college professor. Allows you to have reference sheets on midterms and finals. Class is easy as long as you pay attention. An easy A for a class. He doesn't go fast and he's really nice! Extra textbook materials aren't necessary for study.
you can pretty much teach yourself the material but if you go to the math den there is plenty of opportunity to get help. the lectures are boring but its math.
Math certainly is not my area of expertise, but Todd made it bearable and overall was one of my favorite teachers this semester.
Great, great guy. Todd is always there to help and really cares about his students. Just make sure to actually watch the videos the night before the lectures and understand the concepts or you will most likely be lost in class. Go to class and get your den time in... it really helped me in the long run and made a huge difference in the end.
Zoroya made learning statistics easy. His tests are good too; which is hard to say about math. Thanks Mr. Zoroya!
Todd was a great professor. I am absolutely terrible at math and received an A in this class. He curves test grades and made stats seem like a breeze. Definitely would take another math class with him if I have to. Best math teacher at UMaine.
Not an helpful instructor what so ever..
I took his Den class for stats and pre-calc. I loved it, if you watch the videos before hand, class is soo easy. Make a good cheat sheet and keep it for the final. He also posts all pre and post class notes so if you miss class you can see exactly what was done for the day. He's really personable and makes a huge lecture hall seem like a small room
For an online course, I very much enjoyed it. As long as you do the work and study, this is a great class to take.
I took Zoroya's winter STS 232 course and he was really helpful and kind. Responded to emails super quickly and even gave me an extension despite the fact that there was already a makeup policy in the syllabus. Helpful professor!
I'm one of those people who loves math but when taking precalc in high school I failed. But taking it with Todd made it so much more enjoyable. I was interested in learning and his lectures weren't all that bad. He let us use reference sheets on all exams, and even let us out of class early some days. Overall my favorite professor by far.
I took Todd's online class and found it to be one of my easiest math classes of all time. You can use your calculator, excel, whatever. My suggestion is that even though it's an online class and it feels tedious, take notes!!! You will want your notes when you are mid exam and can't remember the rule for finding smallest sample population.
I have taken STS 232 and MAT 122 with Todd. He is an amazing man who instilled confidence in me in regards to math. He tells everyone exactly what he expects of them, the tests pertain to the homework material, and he is completely fair and understanding. He offers his own personal help as well as other resources to help you succeed. No trickery.
Lectures don't include enough examples to properly do the homework but the required hours in the Math Den can fill in those blanks. Overall a good teacher who is straightforward and fair. Make use of the den and you'll be fine.
This course was difficult for me as it was calculus, which calculus is difficult to me anyway. But the professor really cares and wants you to be successful. He makes students go to the math den 3 hours a week which at first thought was awful, but once I went it helped me so much. I was able to get my homework done and get help if needed.
When you take his precalculus class, be prepared to teach yourself.
Best math professor in the department, is very clear and his content is straight forward. Awesome, easy class and nice funny guy
Overall good teacher. I do agree you may have to teach yourself at some points. His MLA did a lot of the work while most days he kind of skimmed through the lecture. Put in a little extra effort and he definitely notices
I did online winter session. The class was super easy, he opened everything early (and I finished the class in two weeks). The material is easy, and you can redo HW until you get a 100. Use Quizlet to help you study, many questions are online for that! Great course, easy course, nice professor. Watch the interactive videos, trust me!
unhelpful in responding to student questions and needs
Mr. Zoroyas class was harder than I expected, but not impossible. The way he has class set up is just him briefly explaining something while you sit in a group and try to work out the problem, usually something that youve never seen before. Getting an A isnt hard though! His tests arent hard, plus he gives points for showing up every day.
Uses MyStatLab. Structure is good for a 6 week summer course. Teacher is responsive and a fair grader.
in order to take this class you need a mymathlab acsess code, its about $100 asside from this program this teacher offers nothing in terms of lectures homework and quizzes that he actually made. this course is a waste of money and you will have to teach yourself based on pages of reading online. i would recomend taking this class elsewhere.
I don't think Todd actually taught the class, I think he just used some other guy's pre recorded lectures. Whoever the other guy was is a good teacher though lol. Todd accidently had the online homework to close an hour early for the first few weeks and didn't believe me when I told him, so I had to use my one extension and he never apologized.
Awesome teacher overall. Very talkative and explains things thoroughly especially if you ask a question. The MyMathLab that he uses through Pearson has its quirks but I've used Pearson through my whole math minor and its really not bad once you get used to it.
Todd is a great stats professor!
Great! Easy lectures and homework simply because he makes them so easy to understand. You go over many examples in class until it's drilled into your brain. The exams aren't too difficult if you study and pay attention in class. Plus you get. a notecard on the exams.
Todd was a good professor! He knows what he is talking about and is always willing to help if you need it. He wants you to succeed, so he makes his letter grades more feasible (A is 90-100). He drops 4 homework assignments and the lowest test grade. Class is based on participation through answer questions in class on your computer.
Todd for STS 232 is a MUST if you require credit for this category. Not only is it an online math class, but you can also do any of the work assigned throughout the whole week. You can always ask him questions if you need help by emailing him but the "View an example" tab for the homework helps super well. I recommend!!
Second class I took him him, this one I did online. It was a lot of work but definitely doable! If you do the homework assignments and pay attention for the tests, I guarantee you can get an A in the course.
He is a very good professor with good lectures to reasonable homework, I would highly recommend.
Tom Zoroya was an amazing professor. During my semester with him, my living situation was a bit uprooted, and I fell behind in the class. He was more than understanding, and reopened the assignments that I missed. However, the workload was completely manageable. There are practice tests before exams, which helps a lot to prepare.
He obviously cares about his students and helping them learn. By far the best math instruction I've ever gotten.
This man is one of the kindest men on planet earth. I took stats online with him and I am pathetically bad at statistics to the point where I never thought I would pass. The C I got should have been an F with any other teacher.
Fantastic teacher. Got all the material in within class time and still managed to let us out 10 minutes early consistently. Had a great sense of humor and was always very helpful in explaining absolutely anything we were stuck on. Guy seems to intuitively know where you went wrong and how to guide you back to the right spot.
todd is an amazing professor who really cares about his students! he is very accommodating on assignments! exams are difficult if you don't know / understand the material but he goes a lot of study options and a lot of reviews for exams! definitely would recommend Todd!
This class was definitely not hard. He didn't really teach much in lecture so you kind of had to teach yourself within your table group, but just ask questions. 2-3 HW every tuesday, thursday, and sunday. They didn't take super long so work ahead. On the final we got a cheat sheet and it made up for past tests if you got a better grade.
Nice guy. Online homework were annoying because of the wording (omg I rhymed) Tests were hard. His wardrobe needs some work, However he talked about his partner a lot. (You know what they say happy wife happy life) he was a nice veteran who was very adamant about calling him Todd. Thanks for you sypport during these difficult times Dr. Zoyra.
What a silly guy. Gives a lot of lenience with homework in terms of dropping some/giving late passes. There wasn't any notes really we just kind of jumped into problems every class period. Recitations were awesome and tests/quizzes weren't hard if you attended class and rec.
Todd is a great stats professor! His lectures are engaging, and he's always happy to help if you're struggling. The homework and exams are manageable, and Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for test prep.
The guy assigned an absurd amount of homework for a summer class. Opened assignments early, then made them all due the 3rd day of class. I was studying abroad, and he would not push a test date back 2 days for me. I cannot take a test while on a plane...
Zoroya was an amazing professor to have. He was very helpful and understanding. The TA/MLA's were very nice and super helpful as well. I highly recommend attending recitation as I personally learned more in it than lectures, and it made the class way easier.
This class was super easy and always let out early. Only one person at the table has to turn in the work and once that's done you can go. Todd is a nice guy
This guy hands down is the most hands off and carefree professor and teacher ive ever had. He relies way too heavy on TA's and speaks like he is not even remotely passionate about teaching. Also he's terrible about iclicker. Also quizzes dont even match up with what we do in lecture half the time.
Todd Zaroya, despite being the senior lecturer at UMaine, did not lecture during class period. He had students working together to solve questions from a workbook all class period. He also gave us a couple of clicker questions so we had to attend class. If you have to take precalculus, take it somewhere else an transfer the credit in or CLEP out.
maybe i'm tweaking but i've genuinely never had a worse math experience. he does not go through questions and has you solve questions during lecture as a group, gives the answer, moves on, and then class is over. the TAs are rarely useful. if you need extra guidance in math please find a different professor.
i think this course only made sense to me because i took it before in hs. he's nice and you can tell that he cares about students, but everybody in my group was usually confused. he doesn't really "teach" concepts, more like he flashbangs you and you're just sitting there wondering what just happened.
He was so sweet, and cared about your learning. Did a lot of hands on learning instead of lectures.
He is quite evil and passive aggressive . The tests are worth 60% of your overall grade so your screwed if you fail them. But he does not teach in lecture. So get ready to teach yourself everything and then still fail the exams because the cover nothing that the homework does.
I would rather transfer schools than take this class again, genuinely didn't learn anything in class to prepare me for tests and the only reason I passed was because of studying independently
Great guy, not that good as a professor. He really hasn't taught much in the course and it is more like he flash bangs you with information without really elaborating. But pre calc is pretty light as long as you do your homework honestly without cheating and apply yourself you will pass the class
