Awesome. Bad jokes, but really a very good teacher.
Funny, weird looking guy. He is just like a high school teacher. Easy class as long as you know your notes and skim read chapters. All multiple choice tests and not cummulative! Take his class I don't think they get easier than this.
Simple as it comes. Cracks bad jokes, but at least he has a sense of humor. TAKE & STUDY YOUR NOTES!!! Enjoy...
EASY class, bad jokes, great teacher!
easy, fun course. good teacher! cracks some unusal jokes, but it makes the class fun! if you go to all classes, write down what he says, and study those notes you will get an A!!

Tom was great. The class is extremely straight forward...you know exactly what to expect and he's funny. I'm going out of my way to take his class this semester again. :)
Just take the notes and that is all you need to study. He a weird, funny guy! If you can imagine a Bio teacher, its Tom
EASY!!!!!
So EASY and so HILARIOUS!!! Take the class!!!
Loves what he's teaching and loves to tell jokes. Tests are all taken from the notes, you don't need the book as long as you study the notes you'll do good. He can get boring and keep you til the last minute sometimes but I would recommend him for sure.
Easy class with an easy teacher. Either come to class and take the notes, or be willing to read the book while you stay at home - As long as you do one of the two, you'll be set for the multiple choice tests which are fairly easy.
Really easy class if you go to it. I think his jokes were funny. The tests were easy.
Tom presented the material in organized manner, if you want a good grade attend every class. Exams based strictly off lectures. Very approachable about any questions. Good sense of humor. Wonderful biology professor. I highly reccomend!!
Easy, but you need to go to class everyday if you want to pass. Don't bother buying the book.. his tests are straight from his notes! Funny guy.. enthusiastic about biology. Highly recommended!!
This class is a great gen ed! I took it with Tom, and I think that he did a great job. He told us everything we needed to know, and tests came directly from HIS notes, so there were no questions to throw you completely off. Unless you don't go to class.
Go to class, take the notes, study the notes and pass the tests. FOr non-science majors...this is the class you wanna take cuz its easy :)Don't bother buying the book i didnt read it and still did awesome in the class. key point: study the notes!!
This teacher was extremely easy and actually makes biology fun..i never learned more and got such a good grade..13 movie quizzes easy and 4 tests DIRECTLY from the notes..favorite class ive taken thus far!!!
Only one thing out of the whole class that his lectures left me unclear of. Not bad for a completely lecture based class. You don't need the book to ace the class, but if you're interested in learning it's worthwhile.
a fun class and the teacher is really easy going. tests are not that hard if you are willing to learn. taught in such a way that made it interesting.
Easy class, tests are all multiple choice and directly from the notes. You don't even need to buy the book. Just copy down all lecture notes exactly, study your notes for a few hours before a test and you'll get an easy A! Really nice guy, very funny too!
great teacher! makes class interesting and painless to take notes. funny guy, always willing to help you or stay after if you miss notes.just take notes and study them and you'll 4 pt the class!
This guy is an easy A. You notes from the overhead while he's talkng. His tests are multiple choice. Plus he makes comments sometimes that make the whole class laugh.
Go to class and study your notes.
Can anybody say '****'? Seriously, we're college students and the vast majority of us no longer find the words "****" and "uterus" funny. He also tells lewd jokes. Avoid him, ladies and gents of respect.
This class was painful but its possible to work aound it.Team up with a couple of people by you in the class and take turns coming to class to take notes, and then memorize them for the test.Go on the movie days though-those missed quizzes will kill you.
Mr. Fishwild is awesome! He is very interesting and unlike a lot of instructors he is not out to get ya. Lot of memorization, but going to class will pay off because all test questions come directly from notes. Highly recommend taking this class.
Awesome teacher, very smart and willing to help anyone who needs it. Tests are very clear and come from notes. Best bio teacher yet!
Good Prof. His notes are straight forward from his overhead notes. The tests are easy he gives you a study sheet a couple of days before. Go to class and copy the notes and it's an easy A.
This guy is awesome. Pretty damn cool for a BIO dude. 1. Show up for class! (seriously ull suffer if you dont) 2.Copy everything down directly from the overheads he uses and put them on flash cards to quiz yourself. 3. get an easy 3 point
Very, very easy. Tests come right from the notes. As long as you have all the notes you will do fine.
good prof. cares about his students. nice guy.
This is the easiest Instructor I have had at this university. He tells you exactly what will be on the exam. You have to try really hard to fail his class!
Save the 100 bucks, dont buy the book, everything on the tests come straight off of the overheads. He's a pretty funny guy too. Take this class.
The easiest, nicest teacher! Such a typical science-looking-and-acting professor. Exam questions DIRECTLY out of powerpoint notes.
I loved Fishwild's class!! He is the best professor I've ever had. He's so clear with his notes, and so helpful with questions. I wish there were more professors like him. His sense of humor is also great, and very understanding with his grades. I highly recommend this class!!
The class was easy because everything came exactly from his notes. Save your money and do not buy the book. He's pretty funny too so that helped make class a little more enjoyable. His grading scale though is average.
dude this teacher is the best professor that I ever had at Oakland. DEFINATELY take this class you wont regret it.
He lives up to his name. Tests are pretty easy, but you have to go to lectures, otherwise you're screwed. If you think you're ready to get Fish-wild, by all means, take this mamma jamma.
5 exams, 2nd exam on kingdoms is a little difficult. Prepare for it, study from lecture notes & you're set. Gives study guide, tests directly from notes. Book is not needed as exam is from lecture. 3 pop quizzes. Don't take the tues/thurs course. 1 hr 47 m with Fishwild will fish you wild.
very easy multiple choice exams, but id rather take the MWF classes that are shorter
Guaranteed to pass every test (if you take notes, that is). and he always comes up with funny comments toward students!
all i can do is laugh.....fishie is HILARIOUS....he says the craziest stuff in class. he is very easy. show up to class, takes notes, i guarantee u'll get a 4.0....no joke...just make sure your cell phone is off and dont leave class early unless u are dying....lol he is awesome tho. def recommmened
HA HA...This guy has jokes so dumb that they are really funny. His exams are directly off his notes (almost word for word). I did not read the book once. Pure memorization. BEWARE of Exam #2. He had 3 pop-quizzes, but 2 of them ended up being take-home quizzes.
Fishwild was the best teacher I had all semester. He is hilarious and teaches the material very well.
Notes from lectures are right on the test.
What a weird little man...His lectures are terribly boring but hard to miss because his notes are exactly what's on the test. If you study the notes, the tests are a breeze..it's just that the class is very difficult to sit through, as he talks nonstop and tries to be funny (which he isn't).
Great teaching style
Took two classes with him. 113 and Field Bio. Really fun, really interesting. Loved chatting with him while hiking all over in Field Bio. Great guy. Crazy dumb jokes. His lectures are great and the test comes right from your notes.
i like him, his tests are not too bad. i'm taking this class for a gen.ed and it's pretty easy i think. granted you have to study for the tests, their pretty much straight forward. weird labs though, but entertaining.
kool guy. kinda funny and very smart. he's very into his lectures and takes his exam questions straight from his notes. don't need to buy the book.
Exams are directly from his notes/lectures... book is useless except for the CD it comes with. Fishwild is pretty funny
Horrible. very boring. Never answered questions just told people that its coming up in an upcoming lecture. Terrible jokes, they are only so many bald jokes one can stand.
His lectures are pretty interesting and he makes them fun and understandable. The tests are from the lecture and the book is useless for the class.
Nice guy, made lectures easy to understand and answered all students questions. Expectations were set out in the syllabus, if you read your book and use his review sheets, you will do just fine.
tests are directly from his notes, if you know that you'll 4.0 this class.
Great professor! He is VERY into his field, which makes for interesting lectures and tidbits. His humor might not be tolerated by all, but I found his wit pretty amusing. Very straightforward class with a good amount of work and fair grades. Recommended.
He's really funny at times. His lectures are ok, sometimes they are interesting. His exams are pretty straight forward, but you do have to study for them. He grades the labs hard though.

Great teacher, very funny. Exams were very straightforward (multiple choice, sometimes had drawings to identify parts). Easy class for me because I had AP biology in HS :X
Awesome prof!!! Go to class, read the notes he puts on the overrhead and you don't even need to read the textbook. He gives awesome examples and just make sure you go to class, it will be an easy A.
DO NOT BUY THE BOOK, you won't need it. Anyone should easily get at least a B in this class if they get the notes, and study them before the test, that's all you need. The class is pretty boring though, especially at the beginning. Get to watch a movie once a week.
I liked him alot if you study you can get a good grade. Its not all that hard, dont buy the book. The entire exams are based on your notes. Hes a cool guy trys to make jokes. I liked him
Very laid back. Makes some corny jokes and some good jokes. Don't by the book unless you want more detailed information. All the tests are off of your notes, which you just copy from him. Any diagrams, pictures, charts, ect. he copies right from the book, so the book isn't needed at all.
He is a wonderful professor and trys very hard to explain things and keeps everything interesting. Just make sure you show up to class and take good notes. His tests will mainly be from his lectures/notes. Be sure to ask him about slime molds. ;)
This class was overall pretty easy. He lectures and you take notes all class long and you watch movies on cute animals, ha. DONT BUY THE BOOK you don't need it, it's all notes. Lots of memorizing but it's easy. You need to go to class to get the notes, but if you know someobdy in the class just switch on and off the days you go!
I had Fishwild for Vertebrate Zoology last year and I'm really glad he taught the class. (I don't think he does normally). His exams are really easy if you follow the power points and study guides. I wish I hadn't bought the book because I rarely opened it. He tries so hard to be funny that sometimes you feel sorry for him. Aww. Great prof.
He was a cool guy and pretty funny most of the time. Yeah some corny jokes but no one is perfect. His tests are all off of the Powerpoint. He had a few pop quizzes for our class to encourage attendance but nothing overpowering. Take this guy. The book was not really useful.
This class is extremely easy! You NEVER use the book unless you wanted to look back at some diagrams. Took notes every class and tests were based soley off of the notes. His corney jokes keep you awake for the most part. Overall very good class to take if you're looking for easy credit.
this class is really simple. everything I've listened to him say in here, I heard once already in my freshmen year of high school. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! it is a waste of money because he only bases his tests from his notes, which are basically from the book anyways. he tries to make jokes, but just ignore him and copy the notes, you'll pass.
Possibly one of my favorite professors ever. He is ACTUALLY funny - not like most professors who try too hard. He explains things thoroughly and his tests are fair. Show up not just because you should, but because you'll enjoy it!
He was sooo cute and had such a good sense of humor ! i loved him! He made life on earth soo interesting. There are only 4 Tests and there straight out of the notes, soo if you study for you should get a good grade!
Good Prof, easy B but tough to get a 4.0 (need a 95%). No curve. Exams only off notes, no book needed. Go to class, take notes off overhead and just study those for exams. Final not cumulative.
Good professor, kinda strange. Extremely funny in a weird kind of way. Easy class, watch movies, take quiz afterwards.
Good guy, very helpful, really dorky and fun to tease
Great professor! Knows his stuff thoroughly b/c of experience working for the gov. Tests are easy if you know the notes! Textbook isn't necessary, but def helpful! VERY goofy, but tries too hard sometimes. Very fun class/lab and VERY helpful prof! Take him def for an interesting class and a fairly easy grade!
Great guy, easy class. Watch videos and then take quizzes. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! The tests are exactly like his notes.
hes a really nice guy. knows a lot about everything, and will help u if u need it. I didn't buy the book, and didn't need it. everythings in your notes. you HAVE to go and get the notes, or find someone who can give them to you. watch movies and take quizzes, easy part of the grade.
Best professor ever! He made the classes interesting and everything is straight forward. You don't need the book but it helps if you like to look at diagrams and pictures.
This is probably the easiest class I have ever taken. Professor Fishwild is very smart and makes everything simple. You watch videos then take an easy quiz after. On the other days you take notes during his lectures. The exams are exactly from the notes. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK.
He was a GREAT TEACHER. I would take him for future science classes for SURE!!!! Plus he speaks good english and is American unlike the other teacher I had the first time around!!!
Professor Fishwild is a very sarcastic professor who makes a would-be boring class quite interesting. Perfect attendance is not mandatory, but all of his tests are directly from his daily notes. That said, his tests are rather easy, too. I learned so much more in this class than I had anticipated, and I would highly recommend him.
Professor Fishwild lectures alot, it's rather boring. I had a hard time following him because he is so sarcastic that there are times he starts to rant about things far from the subject matter. The tests are from his notes but some things you are just expected to know and understand.
Horrid teacher, he is **** and chauvinistic. He also has misleading questions on exams and tries to talk about diseases that he has no clue about. I felt particularly offended when he called us all drug addicts which I most certainly am not...
Pretty good professor. Definitely passionate about his field. The class size is too large to get any individual attention, so it's just lectures, more lectures and the occasional film. As long as you come to class and do the readings you'll pass with flying colors.
Some people expect to do nothing & get an A. If this is u, don't take this teacher. If you're a bio major, he is good. He is a little impersonable in the beginning but gets better. He is quick to email back but doesn't use pp or moodle. BRING A RECORDER. It will help. I put in around 5 hrs before each test and never went below a B+. Labs take time
he is so knowlageable
Great prof., if you want an easy A take this prof.. All you have to do is go to class take his notes which are on slides, just write them down, and study your notes. He covers a lot of material but if you study your notes you will ace the test. Do not buy the book.Amazing professor to take, it is an easy A, you will learn a lot!!!
easy class. he puts the notes on slides and all you have to do is copy them. he gives study sheets for every test with exactly what will be on it. don't buy the book, as long as you copy the notes you won't need it
He is very good professor. As long as you go to class and take notes, just memorize those and you'll do fine on the tests. He straight forward and tells you what is going to on the tests. I would definietly take him again and recommend his classes.
he's kinda odd. he makes jokes no one really laughs at. if you come to class and take notes you will do fine on the test. don't buy the book, and do well on the video quiz's or they'll come back to haunt you. TAKE for the science gen ed requirement.
Good teacher, class consists of four tests and three online labs. The tests are strictly multiple and the labs are individual and take very little time. The book is 100% unnecessary as the tests are exclusively from class notes. The final is only a not cumulative and reviews are given for each test. Definitely a solid choice.
do not buy book, exams are stictly from notes. everyday he puts his written note on the projector and you just copy them word for word. 4 exams strictly from notes. no cumlative. also you must show up for lectures, he doesn't use moodle. GREAT professor
No need to purchase the textbook. The exams are 100% from the prof's notes. The virtual labs very easy and don't take much time. Overally, the prof's examples are clear and helpful, but I just found the class to be too elementary, and not detailed enough. I felt like I had to "dumb it down" to be in this class.
Fishwild is a boss. He's a character and his jokes are hilarious. He loves teaching biology and does a damn good job. A 4.0 is impossible, but a 3.5-3.8 is really easy. Literally only have to study his notes and do his labs. If you screw up 1 test you're grade is done. He makes class enjoyable and class flies by fast. I recommend him to anyone.
great notes. tests pertain to notes. even gives u a study guide! makes the course interesting.
If you don't pass with a B or better with Fishwild it's time to re-think majoring in Biology... it doesn't get any easier than this. If you fail with Fishwild, you may want to start looking at careers that don't require a college degree. Other than that, he's very knowledgeable and very willing to share his expertise.
First off do not buy this book, you never use it. Second off he is sooo wierd. Its a creepy wierd. His notes are always on projection sheets. Use must attend class because he does not post the notes online and that is what his test are, his notes. But over all easy class. Just make sure you know everything for the test and you will do great.
Go to class, because tests (80% of grade) are comprised entirely of the notes he gives out during class. If you go to class, take notes, and look over them for an hour before the test, you'll get a great grade. The video quizzes are worth 20% of the grade, too, so you need to go to those classes. Overall, he's a big weirdo, but I'd recommend him.
Do not buy the book. The only reason you need to go to class is because he doesnt post his notes online. Extremely boring. Tests are kinda intense if you dont make biology your life. Make sure to not skip the movie days- quizzes help the grade
Don't buy the book. The exams come from the notes, although there is a lot to memorize from the notes. There were 14 movies this semester, which meant 14 5-point quizzes after the movies. He is a little weird and makes a lot of un-funny jokes.
i would highly recommend fishwild to anyone.. lectures can be boring, but he has a quirky sense of humor that makes things somewhat interesting.. easy 3.0+ if you show up to movie days and take notes (exams come straight from them, dont buy the book)
Fishwild was Awesome!! Very nice and helpful.. A bit of a science nerd but you kinda have to be in his profession. Class consists of a bunch of videos and movies with alot of notes. Great easy class if u need to take a science. Very much Recommend
The guy is kind of a nerd but can be very funny. The class is an easy 3.5, however a 4.0 is almost imposible. Tests are straight off of his notes. Whatever you do do not let him see you with your cell phone out.
awesome professor! there is a lot of information but exams come right from the notes so no surprises! He does not post notes online so attending class is mandatory. attend every class and study notes and you will do great!
hahaha Fishwild is great. He's the definition of a science nerd, but this class is pretty easy. TAKE NOTES! The whole test is based on his notes. Buying the book is not necessary! I didnt buy it and I got a 3.8 in the class. Movies every week and a 5 question quiz after. Take this class for your science Gen Ed!! It's a definite A if you show up!
Class is easy because a lot of it is memorization with different types of animals, if you go to class and take notes and study the differences between the types of animals you should be fine. Some of the movies can be a bit hard to understand because the guy has a tad of an accent, but the quizzes after them are easy. I suggest taking him.
great teacher for biology. class is dependent on notes. don't buy the book for the class. You'll never use it. Brings in a lot of cool stuff to see.
This was my favorite professor so far at Oakland University. He does not take attendance, but I would go because his tests are exactly off the notes. You do not need the book at all so don't buy it. If you attend class regularly, take good notes, you will pass the class with flying colors. And he even makes the information interesting!
This class was so boring to me. I felt like this class was useless. It was alright. Some of the test were hard and some were easy. It really depends on if your interested in learning about animals and plants. Overall, I did not enjoy this class. The films were so dull and boring most of time.
Fish is very fair: tests on his lectures and slides not on the book; so i recommend going to class! it will cut down the amount of studying dramatically. He is very clear in his expectations: just do what he asks and you will do well. Highly recommend him :)
I didn't mind the class. I just sat there with my laptop & took some notes. Basically, the class requires nothing out of you until you have a test to study for. He's really nice & let me take the final on a different day because I got sick. It's boring, a bit challenging, but you'll be fine :)
I don't understand why everyone thinks he is so easy. His tests ARE straight from the notes, but the facts are hard to remember. And SO random. I really didn't like the class, at all. And there is absolutely, positively, NO REASON to buy the book. DON'T DO IT. I never opened it once and wasted my money. :(
I loved Fishwild! He was a great and funny teacher. He doesn't put his notes online, so in order to get a good grade you have to go to class. Tests come straight from the notes, so as long as you study those you should be golden! He made the class very interesting. Definitely recommend taking him!!
Great teacher who knows his material. Study your notes and you will do great.
tests are straight from his notes, he even adds stuff in his lecture thats not in the powerpoint or book that will be on the test. tests are ok there are some easy questions but then there are some hard ones. i had the book and i thought i helped but i rly didnt need it. got a 3.7 overall which im pretty happy with cuz the class had alot of info
I can't believe that Oakland keeps such a blatantly biased teacher. Lack of understanding of integration in a 21st century American university setting is emblematic of his lack of higher education (doesn't hold a PhD or a masters.) Easy, not challenging professor, has an offensive vocabulary and obviously no respect for Oakland or students.
Bio 110 is the perfect class to get your science gen ed out of the way if you aren't interested in science. Half the class is watching videos. Professor doesn't seem to connect with students very well, but is extremely knowledgable about the subject. Some things he says can be offensive. Not the best class, but not the worst either.
Exams are straight from the notes. Study them and you are golden. Not a hard class if you study. Tom has weird rants and outbursts, but if you can tolerate them you will be fine. 4 exams make up the grade along with 2 pop quizzes and 4 online labs.
Class is an EASY A. Requires no intellect to do well on exams. Pure memorization. Fishwild, however, is a jerk. Rude, unfriendly, disrespectful, and downright stinkin' offensive.
He was an awesome professor! His tests come directly from the notes so if you learn them your all set. Him class is pure memorization. He does not take attendance, but you should definitely go to class so you can get all the notes! He is also very goofy so you will get a kick out of the things he says. Definitely take him!!!
AWESOME! EASY CLASS TO FOLLOW ALONG IN AND PASS. HAD 3 LABS. HAD 4 TEST (INCLUDING FINAL). ALL Q'S ARE STRAIGHT FORWARD AND FROM NOTES. DOES NOT POST LECTURE ON MOODLE SO YOU MUST SHOW UP IN PERSON IN ORDER TO GET ALL OF THE NOTES.
THIS CLASS IS HARD. I studied 5+ hours for tests and still did bad. Yes, everything is from the notes. BUT SERIOUSLY WHO CAN REMEMBER ALL THAT STUFF!? Ugh. All you do is sit there and listen to him while he talks. I used my laptop the whole time. Not too bad. He is very offensive. His jokes aren't always funny. Proceed with caution.
structure of class is easy. copy notes verbatim, memorize said notes before exam for 100% guaranteed. BUT, Fishwild is the world's biggest jerk. He is despicable and blatantly disrespectful towards students. He used to abuse classroom equip. I felt so bad for my friend who asked to delay an exam but wasn't permitted and then SAW him allowing others
Easy class. Goofy teacher, but class is easily passable. Tests are directly from the notes. Know the notes inside and out. Don't waste $ on the book. Didn't open it once. This guys a goof, openly hates cell phone, but is very clear and tests are easy. Gives 2 pop quizzes (5pt) and 3 online labs (20 pt). 4 tests. non-cumulative final. Recommended
Fishwild knows his stuff and is a very good teacher. Make sure you study from the review guides he provides or you will have no luck passing the exams.
Rambles. sometimes i couldn't understand what he said. teaches straight from power points. Taught myself half of the time. i got a 3.4
4.0 and spent maybe 3-4 hours study for each test. If you have the notes from someone else, you don't need to go to class. Otherwise, you have to get the notes because his entire tests are based of them.
Every question is straight from his notes no secret but his grading scale makes it almost impossible to get 3.7 and above. And he gives you pages of notes so be prepared for alot of studying
Very good-really enjoyed this class, and learned much more than I thought I would. Even sparked some new interests! Tests are right from notes and not at all hard (I am a science geek though). Highly recommend him for your BIO credit!! :)
This professor made going to class worth it. He is so into his lectures and very detailed. He gives study guides for exams and the test is straight from them. Amazing professor
Great professor!! Would take him again for sure. Took this class with a diff prof hated it and now I actually understand everything and don't mind it. I highly recommend taking him!
Professor Fishwild was honestly one of the most straight forward professors i've had. Unfortunately, I didn't realize just how easy his class was until I got halfway through the semester. Go to class. Take notes. Study the notes. Get a 4.0. I wish I could take him for my other Bio classes also.
Good Professor and easy class. Lectures and notes are very straight forward and easy to understand. test are based straight off the notes. Didnt have to really use the book.
He does not use powerpoints; he uses transparencies. He loves biology, but sometimes gets distracted by different topics. He never lets class out early and gave lectures after exams. You have to go to class for notes. You can borrow, but he does 4-6 pages a lecture. He gives small breaks. Not bad, just different.
He is such a good professor! Basically tells you what is on the exam. I took him for Bio and Physiology and he was great for both of them. His exams do get into details and you will need to study the notes he has you write religiously. If you do, its super easy to get an A. I wish he could teach my other classes.
let me tell you the class is hard ah and he does nothing to make it easy, he puts "exam reviews" online put they DON'T help at all cause they are so vague and his exams go in-depth. but the one thing that pissed me off the most is that more than half of the class had his old exams that were the same as the actual exam
Teaches from power points, but seems incapable of explaining further. Student asked for clarification and his response was, "I know this is hard. It's difficult material." That was it! He also seems to enjoy failing students; he mentions it at least once a lecture. I'm doing ok (3.4)in the class, but not because of him!
Out of all the physiology professors, he seems to be the best. And even he is bad. He explains decently but is extremely paranoid with people cheating and is constantly telling us how hard the material is and how we have to look over it every day. I work my butt off for this class and I still am not doing good and I am an A/B student. Hard exams.
Hard class. Many students had old exams, which hurt the students that actually had to study. Does not offer extra credit. Will not curve. Uses slides from the book, but will say "disregard that". Wish he made his own ppts as he adds important info verbally (and is on exam) which can be hard to catch when taking notes. His study guides do NOT help.
Literally the worst professor you will ever have. He doesn't know how to answer any questions, told us he'd curve then sent an email out claiming that curving our exams would make our grades lower... He thinks everyone is cheating and acts extremely paranoid. Awful.
I loved his class. He made it interesting... If you basically pay attention in class you will have no trouble. His exams are pretty easy, it comes directly from his lectures. one thing I hated about it is that he graded very strictly. overall good experience.
I'm pretty sure he's a virgin but he's tests are super easy.
His class was super easy. Don't bother buying the book because he gives you all of the info on PowerPoints. This made his exams very easy as well. For my class he even gave us a surprise curve at the end! Recommended prof. :)
Good class, albeit a bit rushed at times. Mr. Fishwild is very knowledgeable and straightforward. If you can ignore his sometimes odd quirks and bad jokes, it's an enjoyable class. I never bought the book. Show up to class, take good notes and study them thoroughly. Easy day.
Go to class, pay attention, and study. It's really not that bad. I found the book to be very helpful b/c it explains the notes better. Otherwise good teacher.
This class requires a lot of work outside of class. Fishwild explains the material really well, but if you dont do a lot of studying on your own you will not do well. The book was very helpful in clearing up topics that I did not understand. The tests weren't that bad. There are iclickers during class so attendance is somewhat mandatory.
As a person, he's pretty nutty, but as a professor, he's great to take for BIO113. So much mindless memorization for the tests, but they come straight from the notes. He's pretty funny and sarcastic, but it keeps my attention. 4 noncumulative tests, 2 pop quizzes and 3 web labs. Be prepared to take massive amounts of notes!I would take him again!
Fishwild is far from easy. He reads straight off his slides, gives out no extra credit, and does not curve. In addition to that, he makes it sound like you will fail inevitably and is very unhelpful. I did okay in the class, but only because I studied 24/7.
I took his BIO113 class thinking this one would be as good. Class is 4 exams with iclicker questions, so it's hard to get a high grade when his exams are so difficult. The book comes in handy, since his powerpoint notes are chopped and unclear sometimes. I'd recommend finding another professor if u have the option if you want a good grade.
The class consists of 3 labs, 5 exams (last exam is non cumulative final), and 2 pop quizzes. The class is pretty basic, you go to class, take notes, memorize notes, and take the exam. I did use the book for clarification but it wasn't necessary. This class takes work to memorize all the info so make sure to study!
Fishwild is an okay professor. Go to lectures and pay attention. The book is super helpful too, to clear up concepts. There are 3 exams in this class and a cumulative final. And also iClicker questions. He does not curve at all. He's not very nice either...
the worst most boring teacher ever. i cant believe people are saying nice things about him. you need to teach yourself from the book pretty much. very boring class. gives notes that are not useful on the exam. DO NOT TAKE.
DO NOT TAKE. the worst most boring class i ever took. this guy talks about other things more than bio. we will be taking notes the entire time then find out that they are not useful in the exam. you have to teach yourself from the book. i shocked by the good rating
The absolute worst professor i have ever had. Reads off powerpoints and there is WAY too much information for an intro physiology class. It seems like he wants you to fail and would rather make sure you don't cheat than pass. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I will have to re take this class because he was so horrid.
A 4.0 is most definitely possible in his class, although work is involved. his exams are long (80 Qs) but the questions are very reasonable. Read the book, go over the reviews in the book, and go over his power points and make a study guide.
nice professor. cracks jokes in every class and only half of them are actually funny. helpful in making you understand the materials but the book is a good help as well. the test is basically off of his powerpoints but it is good to read the chapters as you go because some questions are not in the notes. i would take him again.
Definitely one of my favorite classes to go to. He's a little kooky but still a great professor. He posts the power points a few days before class so all I did was print those off & add a few notes to them during the lecture and that's all I needed for the class. LOTS of movies with 5 point quizzes after but they are easy. Definitely recommend him!
Terrible. Tests are tough. He speaks softly so sit close!
Terrible. I studied my butt off all the time and no matter what I did, my grade never reflected my efforts. And it wasn't just me. The whole class was struggling to pass. The class average for one of our exams was a 53%. I went to his office hours for help and he talked to me like an idiot the whole time. I felt very disrespected & got no help
Dont be fooled - his easiness is high bc in the past people had his old exams which got them an easy A. Now, hes extremely strict on cheating. He is NOT easy, his average was always a 70% and said his other class was doing worse. His study guides are vague & dont help. At times felt like he reads off slides. Im a 3.4 student &I have a D+. Retaking.
Honestly, he will make you feel like an idiot. He reads off his powerpoints so you feel like theres no point to go to class, however you need those iClicker points. I studied so hard for this class and Im struggling to pass. I feel like he wants people to fail. The first day of class he was so negative to us saying he doubts anyone will get an A...
Fishwild's notes are unorganized and unclear at times. No matter how much I studied, I consistently got 10-15 questions wrong on each exam. He adds questions on his exams from random things he comments on in class that are not in the notes nor in the book. In addition, an exam is off 10 powerpoints and half the material he doesnt even include.
Even though I am not the smartest in the classroom I still study my butt of to get good grades and no matter how much I study I am still failing the class. I'm not the only one either. His study guides are very vague and when he goes over the study guide all he says is "you need to know this."Might have to retake this class. he does Iclickers
The final exam is cumulative and what he says is "80 questions are on the new material and ONLY 40 questions is on the old material, so its not too bad." 40 questions or not, we have to re-study an insane amount of material for just those "40 questions." He also makes it sound like he is helping us narrow down material but nothing is narrowed down.
If you're looking for an easy A, this isn't the class for you. You will work for your grade, as well you should. If you put on your big boy pants and study, you will do well. As for the tests. They come straight from his lecture and PowerPoint presentations. Those who skip class deserve to do poorly. I didn't ace this course, but I earned my grade.
I heard many good things about Fishwild before I took this class and I do not understand why. It was very difficult to sit through his lectures and he was zero help when I had questions. This class isn't the toughest, but I had to study tons because he didn't teach me anything. Everything is on the power points. I recommend finding another teacher
I really like professor Fishwild! If you like reading or if you're willing to read a lot then this class is not too hard. There is a lot of material to cover that's what makes this class hard. If you go to office hours he is good at explaining things. He is a very silly guy and nerdy but it's funny. There are iclickers so attend class.
Lectures are very long and boring. Failed the first two exams because I didn't study much. Excelled on the next two because I studied like crazy. Put in the work and you'll do well. Go to class and study study study!!
I took this class with Prof. Fishwild & then took it again with Dr. Bhaskaran. TAKE IT WITH DR. BHASKARAN! You will being doing yourself the biggest favor ever! Their styles are night & day. He rambles, She teaches. Physio is a tough course bc of the large amount of info but Dr. B breaks it down and TEACHES it, Fish doesn't. Got an A in her class.
Fishwild is obviously a really smart person and you can tell he knows what he's talking about, but when it comes to actually teaching us the material he's just awful. I was so lost all the time in his lectures and he does a very bad job at letting us know whats on the exam. To do well in his class you need to read and teach yourself the material.
Honestly his teaching is not bad but is not the best, everything you need to know is on his slides, and his 4 exams are pretty simple (Multiple Choice and fill in the blank) The only problem was his daily 2 iClicker questions; one in the very beginning so you are not late and one in the end so you don't leave early and it counts 15% so yeah..
Pay attention in class, study the slides, and read the chapters. He gives a study guide based off his slides which are based off the book and the multiple choice test is basically questions from the study guide. It's really straightforward, but man those minutes go by slow in his lecture. iClicker requires attendance. Also 3 labs and 4 learnsmarts.
Very difficult professor. I barely understood anything that he said and had such a hard time even passing the class. Definitely take a different prof if you have the option!
Lectures were very long and they include 2 i-clicker questions. One was at the beginning of class and another at the end, so you must attend class. Although, he gives exam study guides exams were tough.
4 relatively easy exams (final isn't cumulative), extremely easy learnsmart assignments, 3 labs, and daily iclickers (means you can't skip class). he tells you to buy the book, don't. it's copy paste from his powerpoints and his study guide. you don't need to pay attention in class, as long as you're there for the iclickers. i just go and do hw
This guy loves his jokes. He also loves to repeat them multiple times throughout the semester, so get ready. But he knows his biology and loves to talk about it. The videos he shows are really interesting! Exams can be tough, it's just a lot of information to know, plus there's always a few questions that were never discussed or in the book.
His tests were nearly impossible to study for. He was rude to the students, and often yelled. There was fighting in the class, and it was made worse by the professor. It was horrible environment to learn in, would never take him again!
I took BIO 207 in the summer & it was a terrible choice! There was not enough time to learn everything even if I studied for hours every day. I think in fall or winter it would be better, but still a tough class!
he's not a terrible professor, just study the powerpoints for the exams. his exams aren't easy to do well in and the class is tough. but he does iClicker quizzes and that does help your grade alittle bit. he's also really funny though and that helps keep the class going.
Professor Fishwild primarily teaches through PowerPoint presentations and videos. It's a great class if you're interested in the sciences - Mr. Fishwild is passionate about what he teaches and does his best to explain the material to his students. I highly recommend him!
awful professor, the way he teaches is by simply reading his powerpoints, any 12 year old can do that. i dont know how he still has his job. his study guides were vague basically everything in the chapter and his exams were tough. defintly take someone else
Professor Fishwild is, in my opinion, a pretty standard professor. He was very straightforward from the beginning that it was a difficult class - and it was - but a 4.0 was attainable with enough studying. I'm sure not everyone would agree with his dry sense of humor, but I thought he was funny. If you're an independent studier, this is your class.
I recommend only taking courses with this professor if you have already taken the course with a different instructor. His class is more of a review, he does not know how to teach. You must teach yourself. Your grade is earned! What I loved most about his class is anonymity. 5 exams full of trick questions , No early releases, very fast paced.
This class is very hard, theres so much material! We covered a chapter a day and you were constantly studying outside of class. There are 5 test and 4 pop quizzes and 3 labs. He had to adjust the grade scale because we were all struggling so much. A ton of material but it isn't impossible.
For a class or non-majors, I was kept very interested. Although it's a lot of memorizing, it's easy memorization. He really made sure that you knew the material, and the lectures were posted online. He was nerdy and had a lot of show-and-tell animals, but kept it entertaining.
study guides are basically everything on the powerpoint, so not a study guide at all! Tons of material to study, yet never know what to focus on. Everything is fair game is his favorite saying. If you have 500 hours to memorize all the power points, take him! Final is cumulative. Don't recommend
Do Not Skip, half my class skipped everyday and the class average was an F... the class would say he is awful but he is not so bad if you pay attention and hang in there. Stay in class and use the PowerPoints to fill in the study guide then study that for the test and you will do fine there are 5 test 3 labs and 4 quizzes.
The only reason I would say attendance is mandatory is because he shows videos and gives 5 question quizzes after. I also took him for BIO 113. He has been one of my favorite professors. In 113 there were iclicker questions for attendance points. He is really funny. Just study the powerpoints and you should be fine.
He is very boring to listen to. I need professors that can keep me engaged. Especially in a night class. He has failed to do that. All he seems to do is read straight from his power points and the power points are WAY TOO LONG. I plan on retaking this class with another professor to help me better understand. I am a good student.
Extremely knowledgeable about the subjects he teaches and is passionate about them. Although his lectures can be boring at times like other professors (the usual), he cracks jokes now and then. Grading is good, exams aren't difficult if you study (obviously). Overall easy class. Would recc.
Great prof. He is extremely passionate about bio. His lectures may be long and boring, but he cracks jokes every now and then. iclicker questions every day for points, so attendance is mandatory. His study guides for exams and powerpoints are extremely straightforward, so if you study exactly what he tells you, exams are easy. Would take again!
Human Physio was a great class. If you're going into the medical field this is a class you should definitely take. Professor Fishwild is a good teacher. His lectures may seem a little dull but his corny jokes (and I mean corny!) along with his anecdotes on the history behind some of this physiology were nice. Overall really enjoyed taking this!
4 exams, no final. No homework, just 3 labs to do. Exams are easy if you just study PPTs, must attend lecture to get 2 clicker points a lecture which help.
Fishwild is a passionate professor with very corny personality. The information in this class is not the most interesting but you need to memorize it for exams. 4 exams, no cumulative final. If you are a hardworking student who has time to memorize powerpoint information, you will do fine. exams are 80 questions long with 60 easy and 20 hard quest
Professor Fishwild's classes are simple and to the point. All of your information needed on the exams are found on the powerpoints which he uses to lecture from and he also posts them online. Really easy and clear. Also helps that he cracks dad jokes constantly. Really funny Professor and so knowledgeable!
He's a cool guy but you have to put in effort to do well. Grade is based on 4 exams and iclicker questions only. Be ready to study and pay attention. Physiology is not an easy subject in general but if you put in the work you will be okay. Class isn't mandatory but you really don't want to miss, your grade will ultimately show it.
FIshwild is great and really tells you everything that you need to know to pass his class, there will be no surprises. There were 4 exams and the final was not cumulative. There were also some homework assignments and i clickers. Study the power points because the info on there is identical to the test. He is a goofy guy and tries to make it fun.
Fishwild was an amazing professor. Lectures were kinda dry, but he tried to add humor. Bio 2 material just sucks, but he really tries to make it seem less daunting. Memorize the power points using flashcards and you will be fine.
Fishwild is my favorite professor. He's passionate about what he teaches and is kind of goofy, but it's good for a prof to have personality. It's imperative that you do the Connect homework and the iClickers (usually had them every class) if you want to do well. Study his power points, read the textbook, and do your homework, and you'll do great.
he's a good professor, 4 exams and 2 written portions. no homework, all lecture is posted online. Exams are exactly power point slides. I barely showed up to class and got a B.
Professor Fishwild was a very funny professor with very clear powerpoints and a helpful lecture which made them easier to sit through. The exams are the standard difficulty for a biology class but the powerpoints are all incorporated in them. You may have to read an occasional case study from your textbook if there will be questions on the exam.
Professor Fishwild was very straight forward. You need to read the ppts before lecture, during, and after lecture because you need to know the slides inside and out for the exams. Exams were kind of difficult for me because I was taking 4 other classes besides this one. The class is very doable. Fishwild is a funny guy too. I wish he gave E.C.
His exams are pretty easy and straight forward. His virtual labs are easy but his written lab isnt. You have to make sure you look over it multiple times b/c he is nitpicky. Hes really funny tho! Iclickers help your grade a lot and he drops 4.
He is a straight-forward, fair professor and only teaches what will be on the exams (exam-heavy class). I recommend learning his lecture slides inside and out and paying attention in class. The textbook is useless and he is a little weird, but a great educator. He wants you to succeed and the class will not be terrible/hard if you prepare properly.
This dude's name actually describes him. One day he is walking around the room with a fern, talking to it, and sticking it in your face to touch it. The next day he puts on a nature movie, takes his glasses off, and falls asleep until the movie ends 1.5 hours later. He does iclickers every week. Test are all from the ppt. He's a real trip lol
He does read word to word from his powerpoints which can make it hard to pay attention but as long as you read over and study them you'll be fine. I found the book to be extremely helpful in clarifying his points. He doesn't take attendance but if you miss class, you will miss out on about 4 points from iClicker questions.
I liked him. He was a little weird and class can be boring because he reads word for word from the power point but he wants you to do well. Exams are okay, straight from the lecture and he has iclickers and homework and labs that help your grade. The written lab was annoying, he was super picky when grading it. Drops 8 points of clickers (4 ques)
I had him for BIO 1300 and he's a good professor. His lectures get boring sometimes. He LOVES to talk, lol. Do not talk with others or whisper while he's lecturing, he will call you out! Attendance was mandatory because there were iclicker questions everyday. He provides detailed study guides and exams are straightforward. Study and you'll do fine!
This Professor is mediocre at best, awesome dude just sucks at lectures and will go through 12 slides in 5 minutes and expects us to know everything but we don't. class average on the exams where failing and only like 5 students passes the exams with B's. but I honestly wouldn't take this professor again!
If you have this class you're only hope in getting an A or higher in the class is to memorize the slides ( i made quizlets word for word of his slides) and you need to read the book. His lectures are boring and fast and he gives like 6 test in a semester. I would look for another inductor or get ready to study for an hour every day.
Professor Fishwild is really good. His tests are straightforward and not too difficult. He tells you what's on the exams exactly and gives really in depth lectures. He's also pretty funny too and you can tell that he really wants students to do well. Try and take him if you can.
If you want to learn physiology, don't take Fishwild. Had textbook and long PPTs to go through for exams/quizzes. If you like lectures, again, don't take Fishwild (at least not during COVID). Came off as rude in class emails. Not quite sure why I paid so much for an instructor, not a professor. Just take the course with a different professor.
His class is not that hard to do well in as long as you memorize the powerpoints. If online, I would not bother watching the lectures as he literally just re-reads the powerpoints. He came off as very rude in his emails and was not willing to compromise. Just a meh prof, I'd take him if you're good with memorization. He was just ok, but didn'tteach
If you're looking for an interesting professor, run away. This is the driest teacher I've ever met, he is the three-day-old stale bagel of education. His examples never make sense. He's not very tech savvy, but he figures it out eventually. Get ready for lots of memorization of things you don't really grasp all the way, tests are specific.
Funny guy. Hilarious. Knows what he is talking about. But damn hardest class I ever taken. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss class, you will not pass the class period
Exams are based off the PowerPoints that are basically all definitions. I did not learn much this semester, the good part is that if you review everything you should be able to get a good grade. His lectures are boring and he can be rude over email.
I took BIO3332 with him and 2 other professors. He was the worst out of all 3. His section was very unorganized and the notes were unclear. He was the only one out of the 3 who had no PPT slides and the exam was unfair because he examed us on material we went over the same day. Not so great at explaining concepts and is NOT straightforward at all.
Professor Fishwild is really intelligent, and he loves teaching this material. His tests are based completely off of the lectures, so definitely review them, and every test is all memorization. His lectures can be kinda boring, but he does show interesting videos often. Homework is so easy, and the work outside of class is really minimal.
Professor Fishwild was a good professor. His class was not too difficult or easy I think it was about average. Exams are mainly based off slides, so as long as you pay attention in class and study them you should be good. Other comments are saying he is a boring professor but I found him to be funny at times, and he shows interesting videos.
He is a caring professor, who is willing to help, he wants to see his students do well, I did find his class a bit harder then most because there was 4 tests with a lot to memorize, but he does throw in other assignments to help balance you grade so its not just test base. Overall was a good professor with no surprises and straight forward.
He was a great professor this semester! I would definitely take him again, I could've passed with 100 in class but some exams contained more information than others. He offers extra credit and exam reviews are VERY helpful, pretty much same as your exam. Labs and homework are on connect and those are easy points. I recommend him 100%
Mr. Fishwild gives good lectures, can get boring at times but he is very clear, his tests are not tricky questions, overall good teacher just read and go over information. online assignments easy too.
Most interesting Biology course I have ever taken. Homework once every week or so. Exams aren't bad. Would for sure take again.
A lot of dad jokes. Brings in specimens to show. Material is easy if you pay attention in class. All info for exams and lectures is on PowerPoint so it's easy to follow. Almost got cut because there weren't "many" people. Took the class to learn more about bio and loved it! I highly recommend this guy!
amazing professor! his class is heavily based on lectures but he made sure they were interesting by bringing up many examples and using several outside sources. exams are purely based on the lectures but if you take good notes and know how to study, you should get an easy A. all other homework is very easy and should give you free points.
Mr Fishwild went above and beyond to explain the material in an interesting way. I would 100% recommend his class to those who want a professor that actually cares about the material he is teaching. One of the best professors I have ever had!
His exams are extremely hard and if you do bad on them there is nothing else that can help with your grade. Gives extra credit but count toward 1%. A total of eight assignments that only count toward 2% of course grade. Iclickers count towards 18% of your grade.
He makes the class extremely easy. He is passionate about the material and it is very motivating. Participation matters because he uses iClicker to give you extra points. Grading is very fair. The homework, class notes/presentations, and iClicker questions are all directly related to the exams. Show up for class, you will pass.
He is an easy professor, and his exams are questions that can easily be found in his powerpoint. He also gives about 3-4 extra credit questions with his exams. One thing about him is he is just boring with lectures. You could pass his class not listening to his lectures, but you should still go to class so you don't lose points on iclickers.
Professor Fishwild is super sweet. He's very quiet so his lectures can sometimes be boring, but he's very intelligent and knows a lot about the material. His grading system is fair, you just have to put in a lot of effort. Overall he's a really good guy and I would take another class with him.
very disorganized. he does not care about the students. he is always using inappropriate language and speech. a very rude professor that will lower your self esteem and confidence. I don't know how he is a 5/5
sweet old man. reads info off slides during lectures - didn't add any value but you can skip lecture days. shows hour long videos and gives 5pt quiz after. brings specimen in during lecture and shows pics/vids. easy class and no textbook! no hw, just 3 "labs" which are very easy. tests are identical to ppt slides.
His lectures are a bit boring, but if you try your hardest to pay attention, it's worth it because he writes his own exams, so often times, the exams are worded exactly like the lecture notes. The labs are graded very harshly but if you do them sooner than later he offers to help you with them. But overall an easy class to pass.
Extremely boring, if there wasnt iclickers you wouldnt even need to show up, boring subject, boring class, boring professor, goodluck trying to stay awake. No passion for teaching, just reads off the slides word for word.
This man is what I believe standard colleges professors are. He isnt extra and is straight to the point. All the exams are based on the PowerPoints and there is no left field questions. He has few assignments so make sure you do them. He does IClicker everyday so make sure your there or else your grade will go down. He also loves to answer question
Test heavy class! Most of your grade for this class will be depended on exams only and assignments/labs are worth very little points. If you do bad on your exams, you fail the class. Attendance is counted because he does iClickers. He mostly reads off the slides which I felt it was a waste of time coming to class. Study the slides for the exams.
Class is based on 3 exams each with 100 questions, and 8 SmartBook assignments. So exams were high stakes, and you can't go back after each question. But use the powerpoints and videos and you will be okay!
Fishwild was an amazing professor. He is very passionate about the topics. Entirely PowerPoints where he clearly states what questions/images will be on tests. Easy homework and labs online for credit. Long and sometimes boring lectures, but easy iClicker questions on slides or videos. Need book for small sections. My best professor yet.
SO TEST HEAVY. If you don't do good on the tests you basically fail. There are only ~five online Mcgraw hill homework assignments. He just reads off the slides that are already posted. If you want to really learn and be engaged, avoid him! If you're someone who knows you won't want to show up half the time, you would probably do well in this class.
Professor Fishwild's BIO1300 class is a solid option. Lectures can be dry, but he clearly cares about the material and makes exams fair. Attendance is a must, and unstuckstudy ai is a great study tool alongside the provided slides and resources.
He is a little quiet but he is very knowledgeable on biology. he shows lost of examples and videos. I never went to office hours, but I wish I would've to go over my tests. He doesn't hand tests back unless you go to office hours but I think you don't get to keep it. only has 4 tests, 7 homework assignments, 3 virtual labs, and iclickers.
it's been 2 years since i had him but he's the reason i'm passionate about my major. i would take every class he taught. tests aren't bad as long as u pay attention read a little and your good
He has a very good sense of humor :) the material is difficult though. You have to study a lot and make sure to remeber and understand pretty much everything. Basically go over the powerpoints as much as you can. The exams are each 80 questions - you can see how much is covered in such a short time. But if you love physiology, it's interesting.
I had him for a day before switching the class to due to conflicts so keep that in mind. There's one thing he said that first day that bothered me. He said something about how passing the class with an A was hard and if you work hard, to expect a B. It just irks me that the class sets you up to get lower than an A and is inconvenient for your GPA.
i never thought someone would make me hate bio so much. at first i was glad that we didnt have assignments but that is bad. his slides are so complicated not organised on moodle very confusing, in general i didnt know what to study and what not to, poor communication talks a lot but u get 0 info, am i taking this class again? HELL NO
Chill guy, boring lecture. It's hard to stay engaged but he is obviously passionate about what he teaches. Very clear grading, iClickers add up and its nearly worth 1 exam by the end of the semester, really saves your grade. Labs are virtual and 3 exams plus non-cumulative final. Easy if you just study, it is pretty straightforward.
Honestly even though a boring lecture his class is good overall better then most professors his exams are very easy if you study and understand the definitions of each thing. you should try to go to each lecture because of the iclickers which boost your grade. and make sure to do all the homework it takes 30 minutes at most.
Your average bio prof, in my opinion. Likes what he does but if you don't like bio you're going to get bored during lecture (I'm a nonmajor). Had to study a lot for the exams, but all the information was in the slides, just a matter of memorization. Hard to get a perfect score on the "labs," but your grade shouldn't drop bc of them.
funny and available for office hours to go over tests. His class if very straight forward if you spend a lot of time on his slides. Everything on the test was from slides. His class is quite hard as it is mostly test grades. Get ready to spend upwards of 8-10 hours of studying per test. Average test scores were around D+ range so he gave some ec.
I very much enjoyed this class!
he is a very good professor. he gives you a study guid for the exam nd sends you on your way. he also makes you do a iclicker.
I did not like this professor at all. Exams are based off 200+ slides with tons of information on each slide plus the textbook readings. There are 4 exams which are pretty hard. I took biochem before this course and thought it was easier. Very awkward when I went to office hours and stubborn with grading. Don't take him.
Honestly nice guy, but read off of lectures and didn't really engage. Exams weren't too bad as long as you studied! There were in class quizzes based off of documentaries we watched in class so attendance matters there but he tells you when they are. Easy science gen ed to take
He loves the subjects he teaches, you can clearly tell. All info for exams is on power points that you can study at home. I don't understand the complaints about there being too many and them being disorganized. If you can read at a 6th grade level, you can clear an entire chapter in 15 minutes on the slides. Exams are easy, HW is simple.
One of the best professors at Oakland tbh. He loves to teach and actually cares to teach. He will ask if we understood which is rare. If you need to take bio 2 take it with him!! Exams are not hard if you study from his study guide!
