He likes to focus on economic geography. Great firsthand experience from his extensive travels. If you show up and listen, he is a very easy teachers. Cuts slack for those who show interest. Definitely a funny guy with lots of stories. Bribe with Pepsi!
Dr. Graff has the EAIEST TESTS (i.e., LEARN CITIES ON A MAP) but he does sit around and talk about how bad Bush is... look i don't care, just teach! However, he is a Great teacher other than the liberal rants.
Graff is great! I think that calling him a liberal is a little much, but yes he does have a heart. Incredible amount of knowledge about the world past and present.
Funniest prof at U of A. His bad jokes and crazy thoughts make him very interesting-- he knows what he's talking about. Tests aren't always that easy but if you show interest in the class and talk to him, it gets easier and he'll help you out.
Very easy class. No need to read the book. Take good notes and show up for class and its any easy A.
Graff is terrible. I had to drop his class to avoid getting an F on my transcript. He is sarcastic, rude and NOT HELPFUL! Thank goodness I didn't have to do that final project.
You will not know what is going to be on the tests. Reading the book doesn't help, taking good notes doesn't either. If you have him then good luck.
Dr.Graff is an entertaining lecturer, and really knows his stuff. To the conservative idiots who don't like Dr. Graff's take on things, forget what your daddy told you and try listening to someone who is educated and has seen a lot.
His side-stories are mildly interesting and he has a sense of humor that is a bit dark and cynical. Comes across a bit chauvanistic too. But overall, a good prof. Needs to slow down in his speaking and pick up the volume a bit though.
Very good teacher. Really knows his stuff but keeps lectures interesting. Tests are reasonably difficult.
His class lectures were interesting but his tests do not reflect the book or his lectures. If you don't have to take the class DO NOT TAKE IT!
Graff is the Dep Head of Geog--ie he is an expert at his stuff and expects other to be too. His lectures are interesting, but his tests are quite difficult (too much so for a 2000 level course if you ask me)
Class is harder than it ought to be and his lectures seem random but they're actually fairly coherent. Tests are harder than expected but not too bad. Apparently it helps if you've had him before.
Lectures contained too much random information. Tests were equally random.
Graff is the most random professor. He rambles on about nothing in lecture and you have NO CLUE what will be on his test... good luck. If you're smart you can find a much easier class for a core requirement. Don't waist your time with Graff!
I work real hard for a C and he would not help on final project which i worked very hard on just to find out that he didnt really want to count it. Rambles way to much. take another class and save yourself the effort.
teaches from the heart and from experience
I had Dr. Graff for both Emerging and Developed. He's an acquired taste. He DOES help if you ask a specific question. Don't expect him to hold your hand (Would you want him to? Ew). I e-mailed him and got a response in less than 2 hours when I had a ? about my project. He's odd and tacky.
If any professor is worthy of applause and hails for a job well done, it must be Dr Thomas Graff. He is very articulate and exact. If you intend to A's his classes, you have to take down notes. Text books aren't helpful except for special cases. He who has ears, let him hear. Take down notes! I A'sed both classes. Eleanya Onuoha
Interesting man...sweats a lot...he is kinda crazy, yet really cool person.
Graff is the worst teacher i've ever had! he doesn't care about anyone! he doesn't care if you understand or if you fail the class! do not take this class!
Very odd man. He cusses a lot and he had a habit of staring at one person the entire lecture, but if anyone is going to teach geography, he's the one to do it. He's been everywhere and he has a story for everything. Expect to work and you will learn a lot.
Way to random. He stutters and stares at people. His sense of humor is not normal. He doesn't seem to care about anyone. I hated his class but, he has been everywhere and does know what he is talking about.
graff is a wonderful professor who knows what he is teaching. great lecturer other than the staring thing. if you take his class, plan on going to class and studying.
Tom Graff's teaching style consists of simply telling stories about each country discussed. He has visited over 80 countries (he says), so I suppse he has a lot to say about them, but it isn't effective for teaching the material that's on the exams. The exams consist of random details about the countries. Nice guy, poor teacher.
Dr Graph is a very "different" personality, his classes consist of very many stories that at first seem useless but later help you remember the material. It is difficult to sift through them to gain what is important but you must learn how, to get a good grade, study the text book "ALOT"! B4 class and you will keep up with the stories.
Tests are made up of totally random facts of several different countries. Start studying early. Learn the maps if that's all you do b/c they're guaranteed to be on the tests. Lectures consist of stories that you don't know whether or not to include in your notes. Cusses too much. I got an A in the class, so it's possible to achieve, but good luck.
This class is hard, full of random info, and boring. I tried to get help from Graff multiple times and he could care less about the students. He's unhelpful, rude, and inconsiderate. I HATED this class with a passion. Do NOT take it if you don't have to.
Ugghgh....This class is friggin' unreal. He'll go over something for an entire class, and ask you about something he said once during one of his little tangents. Unless your majoring in this, stay away from this dude.
This class sounded really interesting and i was psyched about taking it. This guy is full of random and practically useless information about places he's visited which have absolutely NO importance at all. I would advise you to stay away from this class unless you were forced at gunpoint to take it.
Graff does nothing more than tell his entire life story... everyday in class. I'm glad that he has traveled.. but dear god teach us something useful. Tests are irrelevant and difficult. Graff was my only B... ever. ARG
Graff is one of a kind. His lectures are intresting because he tells point less stories. He has lots of informtion and is very upto date with world topics, he really knows his stuff. Make sure to study for his tests because their long. Really dosen't care about your grades and not vey helpful. Go to lecture and take notes, you should be fine.
Rude, inconsiderate and a total disaster when it comes to teaching. Never take his class.
This guy is a class act. He has an ass-backwards grading system and he loves telling us **** stories. His test are hard as hell, and the way he grades his projects are a joke. The class is very interesting however but he makes the class almost not worth taking.
I had emerging nations and developed nations. Hard teacher but very interesting. Its a good class that incorporates a broad range of geography. you should take this class
I liked graff. He tells tons of stories (some suck some are good) about travel and different places and cultures. I made a "B" with very little effort at all. I would recommend graff to anyone that wants a "B" with mild effort.
Incredibly interesting teacher. I learned something completely new to me everyday. Class is sort of hard, was not sure what to study. Studied the book and notes and got a B. Most interesting teacher I've had at the UA though(and I am a senior).
Oh, Dr. Graff... Having taking both of his classes (and being a geography major myself), I can say without reservation that if you aren't at least some kind of social science major, you will NOT enjoy these classes. I learned a lot, but I also had a lot of helpful prior knowledge coming in. Tests are random, so make sure to study A LOT.
Hilarious! I loved going to class just to hear what crass, rediculous story he was going to tell that day. His tests are random, and he WILL test you on the stuff that you assume no one would ever ask. But, if you go to class and take notes it shouldn't be too bad. He's a goofy guy, but he gets straight to the point. knows what he's talking about!
This class was horrible. Some students like Graff b/c he cusses all the time and makes rude statements but the bottom line is he doesn't teach much of the material that will be on tests during lecture and you have to put in hours studying those long chapters.I barely made a C and I worked way too hard!Don't waste your time unless Geog is your major
Graff is ridiculous. I dropped this class b/c I was on my way to a D. Only idiots who don;t want to be taught but want to hear a professor cuss all lecture will enjoy this class. Lectures are almost pointless, tests are way too hard, and you need to start memorizing the textbook now if you still wanna take this class.
Does not teach the class, but rather uses it as a focus group for some lame stand up routine I expect he is going to go on the road with when he retires. For someone who travelled so extensively, he should have much more to say. Completely useless, the epitomy someone who should never teach.
He is one of my favorites! Very entertaining. Class is frigin hard though. It's really hard to know what to study. Write down everything you hear him say. NEVER SKIP or you'll miss like half the test. Didn't use the text much. Know the maps well cuz that's a gimme on the tests. The project is really hard too.
Funny but very difficult
Dr. Graff is an intelligent man who really knows his stuff. Study VERY hard for the first test because its hard to predict what is coming (besides the maps). If you do well on the first test it is all down hill from there. Final project isn't that challenging Go to class and write down everything he spews.
Don't take this class if you want an A. This was my first B since 6th grade. If you want to take a class where it's not too hard to make a B and you learn a lot about nations' economies, then I'd suggest taking it. The project instructions were not clear.
After going to class for a while I realized it was pointless. His lectures go on a tangent and the real info is the the book. Didn't give instructions on the project and wouldn't send directions to me or my friend when we asked. I wouldn't take this class unless I had to.
I got a D the first time i took this class. The second time i got a b.His tests are random but he will help you out in the end if you're borderline and go talk to him. awesome lectures-i switched majors to international relations from business because of this class. awesome class. you wont get an A though...i promise.
This class is ridiculous. His tests are random... when i asked him what to study, he said if i was able to rewrite the book i could get an a. an a is NOT POSSIBLE. dont take graff or this class.
Goes off on insignificant tangents and spends almost entire class periods on them. It's hard to stay awake through them but you have to, because you never know if it could be on the test. His tests are hard, confusing, and poorly formatted. He should retire and become a museum curator or something.
Very hard to keep up with. Write down everything he says! He's an interesting person, likes to talk about himself and his travels a lot. Bottom line...if you don't have to take this class don't take it.
ridiculous!! do not take this class if you don't have too. its completely random and impossible to tell what will be on the test even if you sit through every lecture.
This class is aweful! I can tell Dr. Graff is brilliant but he can't teach at all. He is funny in his lecters but if you try to talk to go to him for help he will be a jerk to you. He doesn't use the textbook at all and if you want to make an A you will need to write down everything he says verbatum, but good luck trying to undestand what he says.
Graff is the man. He will talk smack to the students. You just have to know the material. The coolest professor at the U of A.
His class is cut and dry. write down everything he says, beside the stories. The grade is made up of three tests and a project. All you have to do is go over the review he gives you and you will succeed.
Worst teacher this year I had. Obviously intelligent man in his field.Doesn't need to teach. learned nothing. never used the book, no reviews, no clear focus, very dificult course to understand. I would not take this class unless you ABSOLUTELY have to. I read the reviews before and did not listen, PLEASE LISTEN TO MY ADVICE- DONT DO IT!
Very hard class, worked really hard to make a B. However, very entertaining teacher.
I left a comment slamming Graff earlier on this site before I received my grade. Now that I have my grade (a B), I can still say with confidence that Graff is one of the worst professors I've had. I learned very little in his class, the majority of class was devoted to his dreadful anecdotes, and he took pleasure in being a grumpy old man. Good lu
Very vague and boring. Hard to hear him when he is speaking.
Best class ever. However, Graff doesnt hand out free grades, it is strictly lecture and note-taking(about two pages of notes/day max). Everything in the notes is what is on the test. If youre hardworking youll find this class moderately easy, and very intersesting. Graff's a true expert in Geography and is hilarious. He could probably be a comedian
I got an A, it is possible. Honestly I worked moderately hard, granted I have interest in Geography. Graff is so damn funny it's insane. I would say if you have a sense of humor, intersest in history, culture, politics, and the world, as well as a bit of work ethic, this is undoubtably the class for you. Graff is an expert and comedian.
This man is an awful teacher! I attend class everyday, take notes, about two pages or so a day, and he still gives BS tests. He can be funny, but he goes on tangents about where he has been and what not. He spends most of class talking about that instead of teacher. Worst professor ever!
Parts of what he says are funny, but Graff is also extremely close minded for having traveled so much He generalizes entire pops based on personal experiences, a bad idea in a general class where people have nothing but his word to go off of Tests were absurd no matter what notes you take, you leave the test feeling awful WORST teacher ive ever had
This is the worst class and campus experience I have ever had at the U of A. Graff needs to earn his professor's salary, and actually do students a service and TEACH them. Worst. Class. EVER. Tests have little to NOTHING to do with the lectures, and the book is a waste of $80. Save yourself the grief and tuition of this class, and don't take it.
this guy cant teach worth crap. just likes to talk about his travels around the world. DONT take this class
To say the least Tom Graph was a terrable professor. I came out of highschool with a 3.8 gpa and maintained a minimum of a high B in all my other classes. His class however was so off the wall so far away from his ciriculum it was almost impossible to keep up with
If you are generally a good student, this should be an easy class. Take good notes, don't bother with the book, learn the maps - easy points, and write a decent paper. There were a fair amount of people getting A's and B's on the tests in my class, so its not that bad.
stupid and irelevant information. talks more about his travels and Illinois than anything. his tests are rediculous and the map quiz he gives at the beginning of the semester is illegible and he will argue that its not forever. he seems to be **** to me. his tests are kinda hard and ther is ahrdly anything to take notes over. wouldnt take him.
Test's are irrelevant to lecture.. Talks about cars way to much.. Dumb jokes.. Some get out lucky with a 'B'.. Take it and you might die
gets off subject easily and test are somewhat difficult.
Tests to difficult, cannot get information right on maps. Gets off topic way to much. Terrible teaching method
I don't understand why everybody didn't like him? He was cool, tests are easy, but does favor non-traditional that have traveling experience.
I know why most students don't like him and that is because they don't come to class and they bomb his tests, which aren't really that difficult if you do go to class and make an even perfunctory attempt to study the notes. His humor is off-beat. He teaches classes that you get out what you put into them. Don't go to class, bomb the tests.
Graff is terrible. I attended almost every class, read the chapters, studied hard and still managed to get a D in his class. That D was my only grade other than a B this semester and is totally killing my GPA. The guy is a cook, going and talking to him was like talking to a crazy person. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
You will not pass this class if you do not attend class. Everything on the tests comes straight from what he says during lecture so you will have to take notes and study those. The book is pointless, as long as you take down notes and study you will at least get a B! He gives a good amount of bonus points for attendance so be sure to go!
Pretty tough. Sometimes what he talks about in lectures are pretty pointless. He can get off subject easily.
Dr. Graff is one of those guys who is very knowledgable but is not a great instructor. The random bits of information in his lectures are what the tests are compiled of so take good notes and study the maps on the study guides.
He's a bit kooky, and he gets off subject a lot. Not a lot of room for error as he only has 3 tests the whole year. There is bonus opportunity though. The guy is very likeable but I don't like how he teaches. Makes it fun but not a whole lot of learning.
The most entertaining & informative professor I have had. He's smart & has quick wit, relates geography to his real life experiences. You do have to go to class & study for tests, but is that asking too much from college students?
Graff is a really funny guy, and always has a ton of "Graff's stories" during the lecture. Sometimes his lectures are pointless, but it's still vital to attend. The book is useless, and the tests are hard because you can never know exactly what he will ask. Overall, a not a blow off class, as there are only 3 tests the whole semester.
He's not my favorite professor. I don't appreciate the dirty stories he tells. You have to show up to class to even have a clue as to what will be on the tests. Don't buy the book. You MUST know the map he gives you as a study guide WELL. It's pretty much impossible to know what will be on the tests, but just listen in class and you'll be ok
If you're looking for an easy A don't take Graff. His lectures are basically a storytelling hour. However, you have to come to class or you'll have no idea what's on the tests, the book doesn't help at all. He knows his stuff, but he is not good at explaining it. Don't take Graff if you can avoid it.
I took World Geography with him and he never said anything about geography. He would just ramble on about random stuff and then expected you know everything on the test. I dropped the class after the first test.
You'll never know what Is going to be on his tests. This is not a blowoff class (mistake I made). You need to actually go to class or you'll be completely lost. I wouldn't suggest this class or any class that graff teaches if you can avoid it.
The people on here whining that you have to go to class to do well don't understand that it's a college class and that's the point. Occasional attendance bonus is given, too. If you like Geography than this really is an interesting and informative class. TESTS ARE 100% LECTURE. Graff really does know a lot. I love geography and I got an A.
Frustrating class. Pretty vague about his lecture. I went to every class, took notes, listened, etc. I didn't do so well, because you never really knew if he was lecturing or telling a story about when he went to Kuwait.
Tom Graff is pretty funny. Thats about the only good thing about his class. I passed because of my friend Doug Pollock. I learned more from him than Graff. If you have a smart friend, take Graff, but I recommend taking someone else.
Graff is a difficult teacher and can be rude in lectures and pretentious but he really knows his material (and will prove it). go to class and take notes. especially on days that attendance is low he gives bonus points. if he knows your name that helps too. he bumped my grade from a solid C to a B because he knew me.
If you take this class, have an interest in the subject and come to class regularly and you will do fine. I changed my major to Geography after taking both of his classes. He is a great teacher and most of his lectures come from real experience. Textbook not really used.
Take this class if you're good at translating chicken scratch. I swear this man has no clue how to write, he just guesses. Most of his words are a mix of upper and lower case thrown in with letters that look like numbers. He is harsh, rude, and tells more stories than he teaches. Good luck if you have to take him. If you listen then you'll do fine.
There are only test grades so make sure you go to class and take good notes. Graff tells funny stories and stories that explain the concepts, but you have to sift through the info to figure out what is really helpful. Overall the class is pretty easy as long as you show up.
I really enjoyed Tom Graff's class. The man is super-knowledgeable about his subject matter. As long as you go to class you'll be fine in here. The only thing I have to write down is the lists of countries and the data graphs.
Great teacher
First of all, don't buy the textbook. It is useless...tests are based completely on lectures. During class, Graff often tells stories that are loosely related to the topic. Sometimes they are good, sometimes I just want him to get on with the lecture. When he gives you the list of cities to study for the test, study them. They will be on there!
The book is confusing and jumps around a lot. He follows the book closely.
Easy!Take notes of city names.Memorize the map that he gives you because the Map Quiz will be the same map with numbers and you tell him the country or town. When he talks, pay attention to the greater ideas instead of the details(unless it is city names).Like,OPEC-remember who produced the most oil for exam 2.He likes to ask questions lecture only.
Graff is an amazing teacher and a great guy. Sure, there are only test grades, but if you can't handle Graff's Intro to Geography, you don't stand much of a chance at the U of A to be honest. He isn't going to hand you anything, you have to work for it with Graff.
This is a really interesting class, and he tells lots of interesting stories from his experience. However, this class only has 3 tests and a few random extra credit quizzes. You NEED to go to class and don't wait until the last minute to study or you will be "caught with your pants down."
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! Do not take this class unless you're Einstein or unless you want to consider jumping off a building. Although Graff tells funny stories, almost all of them are inappropriate and none of them have to do with geography. This class was the death of me and I had to BEG for him to let me pass. Please don't take this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very hard to decipher what he is teaching because he enjoys telling inappropriate stories and jokes. Make sure to study the list of cities he gives you, they are the difference between passing and failing. He responds bluntly to any questions after class and will not make sure you understand before he moves on to the next person. Avoid taking him!
MOST OF THE EXAM IS RANDOM TRIVIA!!! He puts emphasis on the maps, but then the exams are 1/8 map questions (which are essentially hand-drawn and difficult to place locations on.) The class is full of awkward jokes, the study guide is seriously lacking in helpful content. He could care less about you passing, but he's the only World Geo professor..
Everything said so far about him is true! Don't buy the book. The tests are from what he lectures on but you have to decipher what he says that's going to be on the test. I didn't learn anything from this class! His tests are mapping, 50 fill in the blank, 25 multiple choice, and an essay question! He's awful!
Don't take him if you can. I read the reviews and thought it wouldn't be that bad but it is. In a 50 minute course he keeps my interest for 15 min. He tells more stories than he teaches. His test was ridiculously hard for a 2000 lvl course. He rambles so much you have no idea what will be on the test.
Absolute worst teacher I've had in college. He rambles on about his own traveling experiences that have no relevance to the topics discussed. Doesn't give extra credit. Doesn't use the book. Impossible to take notes in his class because you don't know what information is important or if he's just talking to hear his own voice. Run for you LIFE.
Okay, I thought that the ratings on here were all skewed because students had poor habits. I was wrong. I showed up every day, took very good notes, am normally an A student, asked questions (or tried), and still got a B with studying relentlessly before tests. DO NOT TAKE HIM IF THERE IS ANY OTHER OPTION!!!!!! worst professor all year. dont do it
As a straight A student, it is extremely difficult to wrap my mind around receiving a C- in a class that should be semi-easy. Graff does not elaborate, calls students out when they're wrong, and curses unnecessarily to the class. Even academic advisors say DO NOT take him as an instructor. Save your GPA and go with another professor.
He is not THAT bad. for Human Geography, you cannot miss a class because all the test is from notes. dont even bother getting the textbook. if you pay attention and take notes you CAN do well on his tests. He teaches interesting and relevant information. most students are just cry babies and used to everything being multiple choice.
EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. From what I gathered out of the two months is was enrolled was about 80% jokes and stories and about 20% testable material. Test material comes from class "lectures" and book. I withdrew because I made a D on the first test. Be prepared for a time consuming difficult class and take it seriously. You have been warned.
Most of the lecture is jokes and personal stories. Really hard to tell where he got the test material from. He know's his stuff, but it can be hard to understand him.
not as bad as everyone says, i was worried about it and got a c on the first test. write down everything he says and pay attention to the locations he talks about. go to class so you dont miss info, and he also does random bonus points. he focuses alot on the economic side of geography and all map ? are cities. go to class, find a study buddy.
Not all that bad. I wouldn't recommend you take World unless you have to or are a wiz at geog. I'm really good at geog but this class was tough, barely managed an A. He's a bit hard to understand but his lectures are entertaining and he knows his stuff. His tests are pretty hard but he's a lenient grader. In retrospect: I enjoyed the class.
Tells stories that are not relevant to the class for most of the class period. Expects you to know things that he doesn't cover on the tests. Is helpful to an extent. Do not take this class if you're expecting an easy A or a class you are going to learn in. Class isn't mandatory but if you don't go you will fail.
Really awesome professor. Pretty much everything from the test comes straight out of his mouth. Maps are like 25% and all you have to do is memorize them. These reviews must be coming from people who don't take notes or pay attention in class..? Definitely my favorite class, really interesting. Don't buy the book
Dr. Graff is the absolute worst professor I have ever had. I am an A student and I barely got out with a C. How he got a PhD is beyond me because he is awful. Do not take this class
Graff is a good teacher but he definitely rambles on about his old life stories a lot of the time. Always selects a few students to ask questions to each class, and very very harsh and sarcastic. But overall a good class.
VERY difficult teacher. I came into the class very optimistically, but soon I realized that I was in completely over my head. He doesn't teach in an effective way. He tends to break off from the subject at hand and tell stories about his travels. Don't get me wrong, the stories are somewhat interesting, but he doesn't test over the stories..
Worst professor I have ever had. He likes to talk more about his vacations and personal life than the actual material. Get a text book because it is the only reason I passed.
Definitely the worst professor I have ever had. His lectures usually consisted of stories about the good ole days, vacations, and basketball. He covered some material in class, but you could never find it in the book.
Avoid this professor at all costs. His tests are completely arbitrary and he never uses the book. He expects you to memorize a lot of useless knowledge (such as EVERY single country's birth/death rates), and on top of that is very vulgar and obnoxious.
The worst professor at the UofA. I have been a really good student, never missed a class, studied, asked questions read the book and still couldn't pass his tests. all he does is tell stories of his travels and then pulls a ton of random facts out to test over. NOT AN EASY A!!!
worst teacher ever. i only got a good grade in the class because i read the book and am good at geography and have been around the world. he ramples and tells life stories and you hear him say do you know what i mean at least 60 times every class. filled with stories and talks about things he has no idea about. do not take his class at all cost.
Graff is a good professor. If you listen and take notes, you will make an A. The tests have a large fill in the blank section and a lot of students get mad about that, but every single answer comes out of his mouth. He doesn't put up with any crap but will like you if you are a good student.
I love the man. Every answer to his exam came right from his mouth/lecture. Very dry humored. He's very personable and will help you if you ask him. He is one of my favorite teachers. If you sit in the back you will fail. Sit up front and interact with him. If I could take another one of his classes I would in a heart beat.
The worst teacher in the entire world. I tried going to class and paying attention the best I could. He rambles and does not even use the book or really talk about anything relevant. ALL of his stories in lecture are about himself.
Now that I look back at this class,, I loved it. He's one of my favorite professors. His class is NOT easy unless you have decent prior knowledge of world geography. Tests straight from the lecture, which comes right out of his mouth, no powerpoints. Get to know him, if he likes you, he will help give you a little grade bump if you struggle.
Worst Professor I have ever had! He is rude and most of his lectures are a mixture of profanity and personal stories that almost always have nothing to do with the subject we are on. He is not helpful whatsoever.
Don't take this class unless you enjoy annoying, grumpy old men. He is the least helpful professor I've ever had. He gives you nothing to work with. If you don't go to class, you will fail the tests, as they are straight from his mouth. No blackboard account, no materials. If you do attend class, good luck separating facts from his many stories.
Tough class -- "A" student, received a B. Very approachable outside of class. Only three tests, received a low C on the first test and wasn't able to redeem with two A's. Attendance is a must. Lectures are interesting, but only if you have a general understanding and interest in economics or political science. Prepare very well for the first test.
Hilarious guy. More interesting then your average professor... tough tests though.
Spends at least half of every class on irrelevant trivia, instead of simply being clear and concise. "You get what I'm saying." NO. I DON'T. After 4 years, 2 degrees, countless tests, papers, presentations, and general overachieving, 'I'm not cut out for college' he says. Bc he didn't discuss info fully or give me any material prep for the test?
This guy was one of the worst professors I've had. His lectures are all over the place and he will test on things he may have mentioned in class once. At one point we were learning about marketing and this is a geography class. However, if you come to class and study, you will pass. Just don't expect much from him!
Graff isn't too bad. If you attend class, you should do alright. Be prepared to take lots of notes, and to look things up. Tests are HARD. Overall, a pretty funny guy, and makes his lectures more enjoyable than most. Can come off as kind of mean, but he means well.
This class is an elective. Do yourself a favor and never choose it. Worst classexperienceprofessor.
