Great Class, too many projects, but they were good, did learn a great deal. GREAT guest speakers.....hated the book

This was by far my fav class! You had to work your butt off to get a good grade, but it was worth it. We had guest speakers like Kate Spade & Bobbi Brown. Prof. Handley (Tom) speaks fom his experience and discusses relevant , current issues. TAKE HIS CLASS...you'll be glad you did. This should be a credit class for the amount of work.

This class had projects that took lots of time, but I actually learned from them. Wish we had a book. Guest Speakers were BEYOND. Glenda Bailey and Tory Burch to name a few. If you want to go into PR, take this class.

Tom has amazing real world experience which reflects in his teaching. Also his connections, and therefore his guest speakers, are out of this world—the best in their fields.

So I signed up for Tom as a teachers 2 semesters in a row because he is an AMAZING teacher. He goes above and beyond for his students! Gets amazing guest speakers. Really if you can take a class with him do it!

Great Professor...presents current examples of concepts and brings in guest speakers like Andy Spade. Projects are very interesting and different give you refreshing perspective on the topics covered in class

Tom will challenge you to think creatively and you will work very hard on the class projects. The midterm was moderately challenging. The final is easy. The projects really stretch you though.

He is one of the best teachers at Parsons. He gives great examples that stick with you after the class which are applicable to design & marketing students. He is committed to helping students even after the class has ended with advice on projects class as well as career advice. He gives a lot of projects but they are fun & integral to learning

Tom is an amazing professor. The work load is intense, but the content and concepts completely make up for it. His class is so focused on the industry as opposed to classroom textbook knowledge that you have to memorize but will never use. He makes it fun and keeps it interesting.

Professor Handley is the most engaging professor I have had at Parsons. He is understanding and incredibly knowledgeable. His grading technique is faily hard but its worth working the extra bit more to achieve an A. I recommended him as a professor to any student starting Parsons.

Tom truly enjoys what he does and brings his experience to the class. His projects can seem overwhelming if left to the last min. but you feel a sense of accomplishment after pulling that all nighter and being able to present your material in class. The projects are also pieces you can take with you on a job interview.

Tom sincerely cares about the success of his students. Those who take Tom's class will learn about PR and how it relates to the fashion industry--very helpful if you want to pursue this area of the field. Be prepared to put a lot of hours in to complete the projects. The class is well worth your time!

Tom since day 1 has been incredibly influential and passionate about the PR field. He is always helpful when it comes to school, life, NY LIFE, and of course PR! Tom is the ultimate PR guru! This is not about the grade but about becoming a PR connoisseur; you will dedicate a great amount of time to this class, however, the experience you will acquire is completely worth it. A must for anyone interested in going into PR, particularly fashion PR.

Tom's class was challenging, but very rewarding! You'll come out of the class having a greater appreciation for what PR teams do for a company and also a nice portfolio of projects for interviews. If you're taking more than 6 classes I would advise not to take the class since it does require a lot of work and passion to get everything done.

Tom's class is A LOT of work, but it is completely worth it. The projects you do are relevant to the types of jobs out there and you will be able to use them as a portfolio. He's a great teacher and he's genuinely interested in helping his students

All he says and does in class will be of extreme help when you start working out on the field. On top of everything, he found me an internship and gave a wonderful recommendation letter.

The projects are involved and a lot is expected but Professor Handley makes himself available, above and beyond what might normally be expected, to provide assistance and guidance.

If you are curious about public relations at all this is the class to take. No matter if you decide it is for you or not he is such a great professor to know and he will help you with any future endeavors you may have whether it be with jobs or internships.

The class touches every aspect of press manager's role, and gives you a set of valuable skills for a future job. Lots of writing and research! Professor Handley will make this class your favorite and gives a sense of real work-flow. Great class for any major.

Mr Handley has been my professor during a dual city summer course. His lectures were at the same time fun and full of content. He cares about students and our professional future, and he always offered his help to find us job opportunities. Probabaly one of the best professors at Parsons, so helpful and teaches real world skills necessary to survive in Public Relations. I would take this class over to learn new things. Haven't learnt as much in all my other classes combined. He is the Best!

I really love Tom Handley's class and he is one of the best professors that I have ever met, it is a pleasure to be his student. I can tell that he has put a lot of effort into this course, and I honestly think he explained everything perfectly and made everything so much easier and interesting. I really did enjoy taking Tom's class.

The first class I took towards my Fashion Business Certificate at Parsons was Consumer Behavior, taught by Professor Handley. We met via skype which was lovely. I've taken many classes since his and I have to say, he seemed more interested and accessible than my other professors. He was very knowledgable and I would recommend him to anyone!

Prof. Tom was very helpful throughout the semester. Tom was very much reachable through text/Whatsapp and gave constructive feedback with each assignment.
