he opens many ways to earn extra bonuses credits. Thank you Professor. Highly recommend it.
There are 2 exams. One lowest grade drop. The professor opens many ways to earn extra bonuses credits. Thank you professor
The professor opens many ways to earn extra bonuses. without these helps , we would not survive . Thank for your tips , professor.
Prof's amazing. I've had this prof. for 2 classes now and they're wonderful, clear-cut, and pretty easy if you put in the work. There's 2 exams, 1 final, and 1 paper. If you get a grade that you're happy with on the first 2 exams, you don't have to take the final OR take the final and it will replace your lowest test grade. Awesome Prof.
NO BOOK REQUIRED. Prof. is more than willing to meet with you if you should need help. The lectures are amazing and Prof. is a very passionate speaker. Open many ways to earn extra credits
Very likable professor . seems to really enjoy teaching students. The reviews for the test are extensive and descriptive.
This prof. is one of the best teachers I've ever had! The amount of material on each test can be easy (MUTIPLE CHOICES), but if you study the exam review a week or so ahead, you'll be okay. The tests can be easy, so you study hard independently to be successful in this class. An A in this class is easy, but it is attainable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR AL
Look at THIS TEACHER scores. They aren't lying. Easiest, most entertaining, and the most informative class I've ever taken. TEACHER will make you love and appreciate . I work and I'm often either late or absent for THIS class , but TEACHER won't punish you for that. Exams are a breeze, nothing tricky. Show up to class, take notes, and enjoy the sho

The coolest and funniest teacher out there. Don't question this, just take any of this classes. You won't want to miss them. And this professor is pretty adorable. 2 EXAMS . 1 LOWEST GRADE DROP. UNDERSTANDS THE NEED OF STUDENTS. EXTRA BONUSES CREDITS, YALL @UTD
2 exams. 1 lowest grade drop. He opens many ways to earn extra bonus credits . Without these extra credits , we would not survive it. He cares with his students by giving Questions & answer key of the exam 5 days b4 the exam day. Thanks Dr. Tom Henderson.
Coming from a 4.0 GPA student. This was easily the worst class I have ever taken in my 4 years of college. HIGHLY INCONSISTENT GRADER. Tells me my paper is perfect and gives me a 94. I attended every class and participated in discussions and I got an 80 for participation. He requires a 95 for an A which is ridiculous. HIGH WORK LOAD. Avoid this guy
Worst class I have taken at UTD. Very inconsistent. Tells you one thing does something else. Assigns insane work load for a summer class and grading system makes no sense. 15 points for participation and 10-15 for attendance. Also I find it funny a 5 question pop quiz was worth almost as much as the final exam. Avoid this class at all costs.
Can someone tell me that he didn't offer for you to meet him in his office to ask questions or look over your work? YOU'RE MAD BUT BE HONEST. I am a 4.0 student and I did not do that well either. Funny professor but VERY VERY strict grader. I agree, some material was inconsistent, hence the bad grades. Offers exam reviews, read the book to PASS
Prof Henderson is the best professor I have ever had in my college experience. Recently had him for Summer 2015 and everything is very clear. No need for the textbook if you study the PowerPoints. 2 exams, 2 papers, 3 pop quizzes, one group project, and one group presentation. You won't regret taking him!
U don't need the book & can easily get an A+ without doing anything. I wanted an easy class but this was beyond easy & then I haven't done well in BPS as I didn't know what I was supposed to have learned If u want to raise your GPA then take him but otherwise take someone else if u want to learn. I may have to take BPS twice to pass.
To say Henderson is boring is beyond an understatement, he goes on these lectures about who knows what. He has a tendency of running class a little late too with no regard to what you may have next. In addition, he is very unorganized and has the criteria and groups changed our final project twice already, which is due in a week.
Henderson can be disorganized, but part of this is because there are 3 other professors teaching BA1100 (a REQUIRED class for freshmen) and they all have to be on the same page. He does have a monotone voice but if you listen you do get some valuable information. Minimal homework, Very easy grader, supportive, and cares about you.
Really not a blow off class! Henderson makes the class very hard and makes you work very hard at times. Also doesn't like to give A's. Makes participation way too hard to get credit for. He's a GPA killer.
He makes the course harder than any other professor at the university. Take someone else if you can. It's hard to make good grades in his class and expect to have a good workload from this class.
He's a very fair grader. He gave out about a 13 point curve on the first exam (learned that in office hours). The curve was high because he removed a few questions that were repeatedly missed. Essays are a big chunk of the grade. There are 2 group projects and 6 "pop" quizzes. Lowest quiz grade is dropped. He always warned us about future quizzes.
He's nice and friendly but kinda boring during class. pop quizzes accounts for 30% of the total grade so you really need to do well on them. However, he'll tell you one class beforehand if there is one.
Grades were essays (one being a group project), quizzes, participation, exams and a mini-presentation. Quizzes a content was revealed the class before. Exams cover a good bit of info since there were only 2, and he can be rather hard on grading essays. You can buy an old version of the book to be safe, but I barely used it.
Don't do it! Lot of work and reading on your own.
lots of readings!
This class is hard! lots of students failing or making Cs now.
He gives us lots of work and tough grader.
Class is pretty easy. I noticed that many of the notes said that they were for International Business rather than Strategic Management. He is a very nice person, is easy, but if you want to learn then try someone else. If you just want to complete the class then you can take him. His class is easy.
Prof. Henderson is a very tough essay grader. His pop quizzes are useless and challenging that takes up a good 15% for 2 or 3 quizzes. If your an all A student, dont ever take this class because the highest grade you will get on a essay is 90 if your perfect and 70 if your above average. Dont recommend.
Henderson's class was all right. He is boring during his lectures, but he ACTUALLY knows the material he is teaching. He is tough on grading essays and not very clear when it comes to the assignment directions. Leaves room for overthinking. I recommend asking plenty of questions beforehand to fully understand what he is looking for.
Professor Henderson was not organized and his lectures were very repetitive.
Professor Henderson is a fantastic lecturer. The subject material may not be interesting but at least he made the class enjoyable. Knows how to structure the class and is a fair grader. Show up, do the work and you will be fine.
Prof Henderson is a really nice person- I wish we have more professor like him, I enjoyed his class this past spring..... The class is not hard- however his exams are a big confusing,,,(he does give a long review for it)
Don't take this class. You won't make the decent grade you deserve. Can't say he's a "tough grader", more like "unfair grader". Gives below normal grades for everything. Super harsh on papers. Expects you to have the knowledge level of a CEO. Lectures are so boring.
All lecture. 2 exams based on lecture material. 10-12 page group paper. 4 page individual paper. Pop quizzes on assigned reading material. Tough grader when it comes to papers but may allow multiple attempts. Professor Henderson makes it clear that he wants his students to succeed, and is willing to work with you if you are clearly trying.
I was a bit worried after reading the reviews but he really is not all that bad! It is definitely not an easy class - lots of homework, a lot of material is being covered and you do need to prepare before classes. He does care about students and teaching and he wants to help you succeed. He gives you opportunities to do better which is awesome!
Tom Henderson was the worst professor I've ever taken. He's never organized and the exams are ridiculously difficult. He didn't give us two out of our three quizzes to take, so we were missing grades. He decided to fill in for another teacher before our class, so he was always super late. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Professor Henderson gives good lectures, but the material can be dull at times. I would just recommend getting to know him because he is very helpful when reviewing for exams.
I don't know how I did it, but I got 100s on the 2 exams. A mostly dull lecturer w/occasional jokes. You MUST look at his PPTs AND the textbook to pass the exams, but that study guide he gives you will save your life in the end. DO IT. In-class work, 1 group project, & 3 paper topics are all doable. Little homework. Don't slack off & you'll live.
Very unorganized and confusing.
He told the class that he does not believe in 100%. The study guides for the exams are completely useless. Everything form the book, PowerPoints, lectures and reading materials are fair game on the exams.
Professor Henderson is by far the best professor I have had at UTD. IMS is a hard class but he really loves what he teaches and is good at it. Although not listed on the syllabus as part of the grade, participation is what MOST matters to him. If you struggle, talk to him. You will be fine... I promise! I loved this class, seriously.
A lot of material to study for exams so try to study ahead. Exams are not difficult if you study the pp and look at the reviews. There are five papers(4 one page, 1 4pages), two exams, three quizzes, and a group project. His lectures can be dry sometimes but try to pay attention since he asks about stuff in the exams that he mentions in lectures.
This class is a mandatory requirement for all business majors at UTD. Unfortunately, that makes the class itself very boring. With required attendance, Henderson attempts to, but fails, to make the class interesting. Honestly, with all the assignments AND Johnny Bunko being available online as a PDF, Id expect an online counterpart to be an option
I took this class reading the reviews here so let me write my prespective about IMS3310. This class is HARD but if you do study the materials ahead of time you will pass. Prof. Henderson is a good man, but this class is not easy. Project, papers, exams everything is graded critically so make sure to do the work properly and put in your time.
First impression was hes weird but actuality ended up being one of my favorite professors. The material is boring, but you can tell he tries to make it interesting. Test exactly whats on the study guide. FYI hes obsessed with coffee. Hes funny and very patient when students dont understand something. Great class, and great professor.
If you don't go to class, you'll fail because of attendance. You don't need the class to pass either. All the assignments are straightforward. If I never went to class I could still get an A. He answers emails super late. Most of his feedback on assignments are "???". This class is the most pointless one ever with the most boring professor ever.
One of the best professors I've taken in my entire academic career. He is extremely kind and very helpful. For his exams as long as you study the powerpoint it is as straight forward as it can get. I absolutely recommend him to anyone and would love to take another one of his classes again.
Tom Henderson was a great professor for International Business. The concepts of the class are what he is passionate about, and he shows that by applying his real life experiences into his lectures. He failed to explain certain things clearly, but if you take the time to ask him he will help you understand it. Don't expect to skip class, however.
I took him for BA1100 2018 fall semester and honestly he's a really nice guy but when he lectures it can get really boring. Also, I didn't like that this class had so many little assignments, they may not have been difficult but it was annoying because it is only a 1 credit class.
He is worst! His feedback don't make sense and he is tough grader. IMS isn't suppose to be this tough
class is organized weirdly, not very accessible outside of class, easy class, no tests or quizzes, grade depends on participation and whether you do your online assignments.
He is the best professor in UTD. You just have to give your effort to read. Does not make sense if people complain about is class. Paying attention in class really helps as all exam questions are directly from the class lectures. He is so motivating and kind.
I recommend you fill out the study guide then study it. Do the readings before class, it helps YOU more than anything while studying for the exam and even helps you focus better in class since you have an idea of what he's talking about. If you do all that, you should be able to make an A in this class. Talk to him if you don't get something!
He's a really great professor, but make sure you know how to do hedging/commodities. He will explain it in class, he is so passionate about his classes. Go to him if you need help, and he tests over things talked about in class so listen to his lectures.
If you are thinking about taking this professor DON'T. I had him for BA1100 and he was terrible. He doesn't mention when things are due. He doesn't help with any assignments because he claims to have 'other classes'. Talking to him about the assignments doesn't help at all. He makes you write paper on top of paper. THIS IS A 1 CREDIT CLASS!!!!
Honestly he made the class harder then it shouldve been..
Unclear on deadlines, adds in extra assigment that are not required for the course. Constanly says look at the syllabus when you ask him a questions and he doesnt seem to care at all about teaching the class. Overall a bad prof, do not recommend taking him for BA 1100
I have no idea why he got average rate. At least for this 1 credit class he proved me what an 6 credit class looks like. I just checked my class folder and found out I already wrote 15+ Word document for this class. Just way too many paper and all of these matters cause if u miss one, boom! say good bye to your GPA. Also he never reply ur email.
For every single assignment he will tell you the same thing, "show me in-depth analysis and what you will do differently instead of just summarizing." Even if you do spend time personalizing your papers, he will just give you an 80 and leave the same comment. He is also very unclear about due dates and the weight of assignments. Overall just bad...
Advice for an A: Henderson has good intentions and cares that you're learning from the class. Talk about that and include what the syllabus asks for. Easy A. Don't take him for BA1100, though-- he makes it more difficult than it needs to. Grades are based on multiple papers and a semester project. Read the syllabus and ask him for clarification.
I put a lot of effort into my essays (there were at less 15-20 in this class) but, I still got bad grades. He commented how no student is perfect when someone ask him why they got a 98. I personally dont think he even have out 100s except for one assignment which was an easy 100. He makes you work harder then a 3 credit class. Dont take him!!!
Lectures can be dry, but he tries to make class as fun and engaging as he can. Pop quizzes if you don't read, but he gives many tries so if you fail you can bring the grade up at a later point which is cool. Tests are not difficult, he outlines everything you need to know in the reviews and I like that he doesn't focus on textbook. Such a nice guy
There is a group presentation that he gave mostly B. Test review is not helpful. Lectures are long and dull but lets you out early. Basically you will have to learn on your own.
I usually dont write reviews but this professor deserves one. I hope he reads this too. You are exactly what utd should not be. You are an sorry excuse for what a comet should be. You made us write 15 papers for a 1 credit class! And all I got for the comments was " you didnt go into detail". I'm sorry but I want to see you write a paper buddy!
BA 1100 is a beginner class meant to kind of be an easy grade as long as you do the assignments on time. He claims to be "clear" on grading but I promise no matter what you do he will take at least 5 points off for no apparent reason, more if he can find any minor reason to do so. He also does not seem to care about students and won't respond. GL
BA 1100 is a freshman seminar. Most freshman seminar professors are a source of support and information for students, but Henderson did nothing but disrespect the work I put time and effort into. Every time I asked a question, I was talked down to in his answer. If you want mutual respect from a professor, seek it elsewhere.
I didnt a single 100 in this course. he gave me multiple 99's or 95's and thats after me spending days on an assignment to make sure it meets his criteria. I also had technical problems before corona, and I went to his office and handed him written copies of the assignment for the due date, and he could not find it and blamed me. do not take him.
I took Mr Henderson as a freshman this semester n its been one of the worst experiences. So many essays and assignments, it ridiculous. DONT TAKE for BA 1100
This is the worst professor at UTD by far. Super annoying, super awkward and someone who has no mind for his students. During a quarantine he requires attendance to be mandatory and docs your grade when every other upper level coursework is asynchronous. He is legit the worst professor at this campus, do not take him for this easy class.
DO NOT TAKE HENDERSON! henderson is an extremely hard grader and does not clearly state what he wants on his rubrics, and then takes points off later because he "feels like you didn't do enough." All of his online quizzes are extremely hard and he words all questions very difficult. If you try to talk to him about it he will refuse to see you pov
DO NOT TAKE Henderson. He is difficult to work with and just incompetent. He is not clear about his grading and his lectures are stale. He makes being in the class more difficult than it needs to be and he is not accommodating. If you are thinking of taking him, save yourself and RUN!!
I usually do not write reviews for professors but Henderson deserves one. He is by far the worst professor I have ever had at UTD. Do not take his class unless you want to work 1000x harder than you should have to. He is a terrible grader and does not specify what he wants. He is also very rude towards his students.
Professor Henderson is a tough grader but if you listen to his direction passing is possible.
I have never written a review in my life before. Professor Henderson was by far the worst professor I have ever had in my life. please please please do not take this class for your own good. His grading criteria is not clear what so over. His lectures are boring and long. Tests are extremely hard and there are not any specific due dates so you are
Professor Henderson makes the lectures fun and short. Fair grader. Easy to get an A with him as long as you study for exam.
The deadline for final according to eLearning was different than the actual deadline. I missed the final and my grade dropped to a 68. I pointed out the deadline inconsistency but he refused to let me do anything to make it up. Also claimed in a class that the students in attendance would have their final grade curved up which was a lie in my case.
He deserves 5 out of 5. He is very lovely, and his class is interesting. I learned something that can be applied to real life. All the exams are open books. You will be fine if you take notes in class and study for a while before the exam. I definitely will take his class again and highly recommend his course.
The professor is polite and gives good feedback for assignments. His lectures are interesting but weren't helpful for exam preparations though.
This is the best professor to take for Capstone. He gives a lot of flexibility, he does not make you write a report, he lets you just upload your powerpoint twice, and as long as you meet with your client and get your work done, he does not require you to come to class every week. As stress free as you can get but still available for guidance.
Lots of quizzes and tests but theyre open note/open ppt (&everything is from the ppt). Lots of ppts so Id suggest paying attention in class&taking notes so you dont get overwhelmed during the test w all the ppts. Pretty easy grader, few HW, lectures can be interesting&funny. Doesnt curve. Hes strict about some things so read assignment instructions
Professor Henderson was amazing, he was very lenient, gave heads up for quizzes and would inform us what would be on the quizes and exams through email. Everything is open note. Though do take notes from his class cause in the quizzes he will state stuff from what he spoke in class and will explain pictures the added that are also on exams and quiz
Very easy grading on open-ended assignments and tests often repeat questions from quizzes. Cares about student success and is helpful with answering questions. No homework or textbook except for fairly short reading assignments posted ahead of time.
Great teacher, just pay attention in class and take notes as they will be important on the quizzes. Quizzes and tests are done at home, but really recommend going to class. He really cares about his students and it's fun to hear his stories.
He is really nice and caring, only drawback is the attendance, but that only shows he cares
Professor Henderson is a good professor, he is sweet and you can tell he cares. Lectures are a bit boring but so is the topic, homework is a quiz every week, midterm and final, plus a paper and group project. Tests are all online and open book but he makes them a little bit difficult. Overall a good professor and would take him again.
He was super caring and stayed after class to speak with students about any questions and even would walk them through the material all over. Closest I've been to a Prof since starting at UTD (3rd year)
Very nice and knowledgeable professor. This class is super easy if you are on top of things, the lecture material is a fair representation of what will be on quizzes and exams. One super easy paper and group project assignment. He also has no problem going over something if you are confused. Easy class would absolutely take him again.
He is a knowledgeable in this area of study. You have to be on top of your work and studies to do really good in his class (which I wasn't really lol). The group project is pretty simple and the paper assignment is easy. The Exams and quizzes can be a bit challenging unless you study the material a lot. Attendance is also mandatory for this class.
I really enjoyed his class! He knows what he's talking about and has a lot of experience. He makes every class interesting and as easy as possible for students to understand. I would definitely take his class again!
Professor Henderson is someone who cares to help you on a personal level every time that you reach out to him, whether it's for an in class topic or not. If you attend class and attempt to connect his material to the real world, you should have no problems doing well.
He is a very kind and considerate professor. light grader, there are quizes and tests but none are very difficult as long as you show up to class. Attendance is required but is worth it as he makes annoucnements in class with regards to due date changes and test material.
The class consists of online quizzes, midterm, final, a paper, and group project. The grades are light but they're super easy as long as you pay attention. He does take attendance, and usually talks abt important stuff during class. His class was easy and straight forward.
I would describe Tom Henderson as a generous professor. His quizzes and homework were fairly easy to complete since its all open note to help complete them. He's like a documentary commentator when he goes over his lectures and if you're lucky he'll even give the class free Oreos for attending his Marketing unit lecture.
He is friendly, but the material is a little tough. He did weekly quizzes, an online midterm, an in-class final exam, one paper, and a group project. At the beginning of class he says you need to buy the textbook but you really don't, he gives you all his slides which have everything. He's good but it was not the funnest class - just do the work
The whole class was easy, except for the final in class. It was cummulative and it was too much math from the first half semester, but almost nothing from the last part of the semester. Exams are worth 25% each, so that final can bring down your grade at the end. Attendance is mandatory. No extra credit or curve offered.
