He looks like Al Pachino, with glasses. Seriously. The class is way interesting but the tests are hard and the labs are not real clear.
He is very tricky on quizzes and tests, just to see who he can fool, so pay very close attention to every little detail--triple check all your answers on tests and quizzes!!
I had him for a hybrid in the summer. I think that is the most stressed I had ever been over a class. Those online labs can be tricky along with his quizzes. Study in depth for them!
NOT approachable or helpful at all. Is not clear in class and when you try to ask for clarification he tries to belittle all the students and make them feel dumb. Has the short man complex, wants to feel powerful. Bad teacher!
He is the most helpful teacher I've ever had. He went out of his way to help me when I had knee surgery.
He DOES have that "short-man" complex, lol. A bit on the arrogant side, but made class very interesting. He isn't one of those boring teachers that sticks strictly to the curriculum, he makes biology very applicable to our lives! His quizzes and tests weren't too bad but sometimes the labs were tricky and the directions weren't always clear.
science has never been one of my best subjects in school but i did good in this class. The exams were a little hard and the labs tricky but i really enjoyed the class. Hes a really good teacher very helpful and can make a boring class worth the money you paid!!

He was never clear on anything and would belitte you for asking questions. Also wouldn't give me the points that I had not missed but he counted wrong back on my test. :P Don't take his class because it will be very hard to pass!

Claims to like class participation- but he'll grill you for incorrectly answering. I mean just flat out put you on the spot- Once got PO'd and sent the class home 15 minutes in because no one could answer his question- Tough to pull good grades. Does keep it interesting- but I don't recommend his class.
What a great guy. A real straight shooter. Hard but I learned a lot.
Great teacher! He is very strict but is very passionate about his subject. He doesn't stay from the topics. He is always willing to help. I would take him again.
You will either love or hate him. I liked him. he is very smarty. He expects you to speak up in class but then if youre wrong he will laugh. I made a C because I didnt try very hard but I dont think it was a hard class.
Found his lectures to be very interesting/entertaining. I learned a lot from just sitting in class and paying attention. Justice is sarcastic, but that is just his sense of humor. I think a lot of people mistake his teasing for belittling. He can come off as a bit arrogant, but can also be very helpful and concerned for his students.
He is a bad instructor I would not advice no one to take him. He suck he should not be teaching
He's not a good teacher. Says no question is stupid yet he makes you feel stupid for asking. Says to email homework so he can help you but he just criticizes instead of giving feedback. Will tell you you're doing great until you see the "F" at the end! Don't take. He's also obsessed with his dog and thinks Biology is #1 in everyone's lives!
Mr. Justice is a hard teacher but isn't that what we want? his toughness makes me strive for excellence. I think only the students who expect to be given the world hold bad opinions of him tests are tough but very passable. I highly recommend him if you are interested in actually learning if you are a lazy whiny complainer I would stay away.
bad bad teacher, he threw a desk once and scared us all
loved him!! my favorite teacher yet!
If you are an older student please stay away from this guy. He'd like to think of himself as an Ivy League scholar and younger students at a junior college would never call him on it; therefore, he can remain a big man on campus. At least in freshman biology at a junior college.
Tom Justice is the Greg House of Biology. Very sarcastic but really funny. When he is being mean to you it's just because he likes you. Pure entertainment!
I really liked this professor. He is gruff and grumpy and comes across as a hardass, but if you show up for class, focus on the class at hand, and ask for help when you need it you should come away with a good understanding of the subject and a good grade. He explains the subject matter well, engages the class, and provides help to those who ask.
This is guy is rude. when asked for help, he literally started yelling at me, for being stupid. Loved his passion, and I can take smart aleck - but this guy takes the cake for being unapproachable and above it all.
Tom Justice is great. He is rude and gets mad when you talk when he is speaking. He demands respect, but if you give it to him he will help you along. His lectures follow the slides and test come from labs and reviews. I would take the Hybrid class because it is a shorter class. :)
This was an online classe for me and the first class i ever failed do not take this teacher
Tough prof. Mandatory attendance. Will learn a lot if attempt is made.
he was just very rude to the whole class at times and he wasnt very helpful at all
I had taken him for General Biology and found him rude, but hilarious. I liked his teaching style and I learned a lot. I took an internet class for Intro to A&P and found the outline to be the same. I did every assignment, asked for help in blackboard but couldn't pass a test!! Passed final but made a 68 in class. He would not give me the C.Upse
He is petty and not easy to work with. He makes things harder than it has to be because of his own stupid pet peeves. He wasted a lot of my time and energy. I would not recommend him as a teacher.
Alot of ppl talks bad about him, but I really liked him. bio1408 was my easiest class of the semester. All of the tests are from chp summaries and he posts everything on blackboard. VERY easy class, most ppl get bad b/c he won't hand the answers 2 u on a silver spoon...but then again he doesn't have 2 b/c it's ALREADY ONLINE!
He a nice professor and will try to help you as much he is able to. I found that his test are hard to understand and they are not really over the test reviews that he gives. I took him online and it was diffcult, I end up droping and taken it the next semster with Sharon Thomas and made an A with no problem.
After 2 weeks in this class I switched class schedule b/c he was rude, derogatory and out right mean. Was no help in understanding test or materials. If he were the last Pro. on Earth I would still not recommend him! Do not understand why MCC still has him employed.
He was very rude from the get go. There were certain ways you had to do things, like e-mails for instance, that were not necessary, but rather just a waste of time. I took him online and did horribly in the class. I studied on a regular basis and did all assignments, but still made a D. Just overall a bad experience.
I took intro a&p online. The course was very hard. I only passed 2 tests but did good on my quizzes. Tests were hard and the items given to study did not help on the tests. I did learn alot but only b/c I read the chapters over and over!
This instructor is rude and difficult to work with. He provides two(2) answers for everything. 1. "no response" so you don't know if he got the email. 2. "re-read the material". That's it. This instructor's goal seems less about teaching, and mostly about his own pet peeves. I felt abused and insulted. Avoid this instructor at all costs.
He is very strict. He bases his entire class off of power point presentations. He's pretty fair overall but be ready to study a lot which should be expect in a Biology class.
Rude, rude, rude. Very picky about useless things. The class is extremely difficult for me. I wish I would have found this site before because everything that is being said is true. I am taking the class online and the learning objectives I have a hard time finding, have to google. I will probably not pass.
I took Biol 2404 online bc it was my only option. I was nervous but Prof. Justice made it very easy. The power points were very helpful and the chapter objectives helped tremendously. I wish he taught 2401.
This proffesor is very unproffesional. He would get upset and threw a chair once and slammed on the desk. I felt very violated the way he spoke to everyone and does not respect anyone. His teaching skills are the worst I have ever seen at this college. He does not help and does not answer your questions, but only humilates you.
I took this class online, and because of the comments on here I was terified of what my outcome in the class would be... as long as you listen to and really study the powerpoints, take yor quizes then you should have no problem making an A. I took this class while working full time, in a five week summer course... it can be done.
Awesome
I have always been awful at science-related classes but Justice was extremely helpful and patient with those that aren't very familiar with the subject. I did great in the class, except for the "Heredity" unit, which was extremely hard for me. Overall, he's nice and understanding and always willing to help.
I found Mr. Justice very difficult. I was very easily confused with exactly what was expected. He is very helpful and will give you as much of his time that you require without complaint. He wants all of his students to pass and can become testy when they aren't trying. I don't recommend him to anyone who doesn't want to put in the work.
I have to say, for a 5 weeks online biology class, Mr. Justice did an excellent job of covering the material in an understandable manor. Yes, his class is difficult in the sense that he doesn't just had you the answers, but this is a college. He gives you many chances to have labs reviewed before they are graded. Do what he asks and you"ll be fine.
Don't take this class by distance learning. This instructor does not like distance students, offers very little help and tries harder to intimidate you than help you if you ask any questions.
Tom explains biology in the simplest way possible. His tests come directly from the power points. VERY easy class if you pay attention.
Justice is an excellent professor.I took this class online and must say that he is super at returning e-mails. His powerpoints are very thorough, and he also reviews labs and topic summaries if you turn them in early. If you study the summaries, you will do well on his tests. I recommend him!
The material isn't incredibly hard, but this instructor is honestly the worst online instructor I've ever had. His powerpoints move too quickly to take notes, and sometimes he cuts off mid-sentence. His questions on quizzes are often vague, and he blamed students for not following his incorrect graph. I don't recommend him for an online class.
Justice is not easy, but not impossible. Watching his power points OVER AND OVER is the answer. The test may have a question he only briefly commented on. Memorize quizzes also for tests.
Whoever you are up there saying this class is easy and he's great ( Tom yourself probably) your a liar. He is pathetic at teaching mostly just list facts could care less about being involved in what you comprehend. And your not being graded on what you understand but mostly by following impossible directions.2him ur a mindless drone at his demise
HORRIBLE!!!! I'm a good student and when I need help I ask the teacher. Mr. Justice didn't want to be bothered. Complete waste of time. Google got me through that class! Beware!!
Not a hard class if you study the PowerPoints and remember what is on the quizzes. Do chapter reviews asap so he can review them & give you feedback to fix it so you can study that as well.
I am an average A/B student and I got a D in this class. Everyone that says he is rude, disrespectful and on a power trip is absolutely correct. Will not take him again, nor would I recommend him to anyone.
I took this course online over the summer. Pro: Textbook not required. HOWEVER, he was overly rude. When I'm PAYING for a course, a professor can at least be professional. He acted like everything was a hassle. I hated emailing him & dreaded replies. Tests were hard. Powerpoints vague. Better than having to go to class, i guess. Wouldn't recommend.
I had professor Justice for fall 2013 i enjoyed his class. He was pretty chill. We didn't have labs just study in the computer lab. We didn't use the book at all. Just follow his PowerPoints and do well on the quizzes and you'll ace the test. It was one of the easiest A's I think I've gotten. He did make some people feel stupid but it was funny.
Tom was rude sometimes and it was hard to follow him in lecture. He had a way of making people feel stupid. Answer out loud in class or he will get annoyed and make you learn on your own. The labs can be pretty hard and he doesn't really help with them much. If you like a hard challenge, then you should take him.
Rudest professor i've ever had. I DREAD emails from him because he is SO rude. He says in your emails you MUST address him, but he will never address you. Never says good job, I hate hate hate the rudeness of him when I am paying $3,000 a semester to attend classes! He needs to show some respect for his students.
Took in class & didn't seem rude, but gets frustrated when ppl don't participate.Test are easy-memorize quiz&topic summaries. He reviews labs/summaries & gives feedback b/4 grading so you can submit for a good grade!Doesn't just give the answers in feedback though-makes u think & find it yourself.Didn't take notes-puts them online.A is very doable!
tough grader. isn't very clear on subjects or the what'll be on the test. labs are long and very detailed
Mr. Justice is rude when replying to emails and i dread being yelled at by him in class. If someone cant answer the question fast enough then he is rude and yells. His tests are too much and he isnt very specific on what will be on the tests. I also end up studying things that say they are on the test that arent.
I took this class online. I wouldn't recommend anyone to take this professor . He is very rude and disrespectful. He does not fully Clairy what would be on your exam. Does not give out extra credit. The tests are very competitive that are worth 80% of your grade . So be sure to Ace pretty much every exam. No study guide included .
He lectures and puts the PowerPoint on blackboard for you to look back on. He talks fast but if you have a question don't be afraid to stop him and ask right there. His tests are hard and he expects you to KNOW your stuff. Not an easy class, but not impossible. Be prepared to put a lot of time into reading your book.
I absolutely hated this course. I love to learn, but Mr. Justice sucked the fun out of it completely. I dreaded emailing him because of the way he talked down to me, and after contacting my fellow students in the class, I know it wasn't just me. I struggle with biology, and he certainly didn't help in any manner. He's just plain uncaring and rude.
Don't waste money on the book. Tom makes multiple powerpoints that will have all the information you need. Outlines for every chapter are provided and they are extremely helpful and essential to doing well on the tests. DON'T PROCRASTINATE! This course has a lot of material that needs to be memorized.
The syllabus is the most important instrument of structure in a course. His syllabus fails to convey his outrageous guidelines. Mr. Justice was very rude, uncaring, and downright disrespectful. Often belittled students. I would not recommend anyone to take him.
I HATED this class. I had Biology majors trying to help me and they couldn't do it either. I failed the class and have to take it again, and I am taking every means necessary to avoid him. If you have questions about something don't ask him because he will make you feel like an idiot and won't even really answer the question. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
Very hard. Very disrespectful. He's not afraid to make fat jokes. Test are hard but he gives days at the end of the semester where you can make them up
Pay attention to objectives- that's what's on the test- make sure to show up to class & stay til the end- participate in class- did offer some extra credit- grades fairly- definitely would take again
It was a lot of work but he posted lectures online and allowed rough drafts of every assignment to be sent to him for revision. Tests were done in the testing center. He alway responded quickly
TAKES HORRIBLE PROFESSOR TO A WHOLE NEW MEANING
If you go to him for help he will literally avoid the question and answer you as if you are dumb. Over half of the material he makes us study is not on the test. If you are wondering whether to take him DON'T.
I am currently taking this class and be prepared to do tons of work. The labs in my opinion are pointless because they are not hands on and it's time consuming. I never in my life had a rude professor and he's very specific on what he wants......
This guy is very rude and not a very good professor. He is picky about how you word things and how you do assignments. The schedule constantly changes and you dont ever have a real lab. He only shows PowerPoints and he expects the students to remember everything. He has a good and bad side which is his own opinion of students.
Worst professor at MCC. I feel bad saying that, but I want to help other students not make the mistake of taking his class. I have heard from countless people, that they have the same experience as I do with Tom Justice. He does not care about his students at all. And he will make that clear in class. I would highly recommend not taking his class.
DO NOT. First of all, if you ask him a question he will respond to you as if youre an idiot and completely avoid the question in front of everyone. Test are nothing like the power points he does in class. And he is VERY particular about how you word things and he has no problem with making you feel stupid. Would not recommend at all.
By far one of the worst professors I have had in my college career. He is not helpful, or clear about what he wants. Labs are due almost every week and they are pointless and do not help with exams. Exams are ridiculously hard and impracticle . Mostly short answer, and they account for majority of your entire course average.
I dont quite understand why Tom Justice is allowed to teach students. I truly think he wants his students to fail, not succeed. Way too specific for an introductory course, pointless labs. Hes incredibly rude, and literally doesnt answer your questions. Something is really wrong, take the advice of countless others, take a stand, DO NOT ENROLL.
This professor is really tough when it comes to grading and work. Besides any personal negatives I have, you must be extremely prepared for any of his test. If you do the topic summaries and quizzes, then most likely you will do good on the test. Dispute him being tough, anyone can still pass his course depending on how much effort you give.
T. Justice has very little patience. He is at times sarcastic and unfriendly. He allows lots of room to get your work reviewed before turning in for a grade, which is helpful, but I would not take his class again. Don't use your cell phone in class, AT ALL!!!
Even though he may not be the nicest guy, he teaches the content well and you must go to every class to pass. The topic summaries for the test will be the difference between success and failure in the class.
Did not recommend. Should have dropped.
Tom Justice is extremely disrespectful and rude. He has very little patients when questions are asked. His labs and assignments are difficult; however, you have plenty of opportunities to get an assignment reviewed with feedback before it is due. You will not pass his class if you do not study.
I took his class 2 times and failed it both times. He used power points but never explained what they were about. The tests were not related to the notes. IF you have questions, dont bother asking him or you will get a very rude answer. Not professional at all. I took the same course with a different instructor and passed it on the first try.
Tom Justice is a really bad professor. Yes he will let you get your assignments reviewed before grading them, but he is EXTREAMLY Specific and at times really rude if you dont agree with him. He will refuse to grade things if you dont submit it to a tee correctly. He has very high expectations and has no problem failing you if he wants to.
I dropped the class pretty quickly after I attempted to ask questions about testing and participation and getting disrespectful, condescending feedback. The syllabus I recieved wasn't updated for the correct semester, it was fall term and had summer dates. I know profs are human and make mistakes, but I found him extremely difficult to communicate.
Was very disrespectful and inappropriate in the classes/topics and in email.
Got stuck with him b/c he was the only professor left. Enrolled in an 8 week course that was pushed back due to COVID19. Classes opened a week later than expected and automatically everyone was missing 8 assignments. When I emailed him about it, he was very rude and disrespectful. SO GLAD I DROPPED!!! please do not take his class. doesnt care abt u
Was a bit scared to take Justice's class, especially online for only 6 weeks, but the class was straightforward, pretty simple. Tom has very specific requirements for his class (includes the way you send him emails.) If you can read and follow directions you'll be fine. Just do the work and get reviewed on labs! Don't miss that opportunity.
I took professor justice this past semester and I was terrified due to his ratings on here however I can say that he isnt bad at all. He is a great professor who gives you all the resources you need for the tests and labs. However much effort you put in the class reflects on your grade. LABS are important. He reviews your labs a week before.
He is VERY rude and unprofessional. He is also very sarcastic and acts like he hates his job. Definitely does not need to be professor! He's by far the worst professor that I've had throughout my undergrad. Be aware that his instructions and assignments AREN'T CLEAR AT ALL. Then he'll get when you ask him for clarification. Choose another professor
Very unprofessional
Rated as Thomas Justice and Tom Justice. He has no idea how to use Brightspace and refers to it as "BS". Then to adapt he forces high email use and is rude in most email communications. It is interesting that he holds you very accountable for precise direction following but fails horribly at doing the same when it comes to his responsibility.
Assignments are easy if you look over the presentations. He refuses to use Brightspace and has you email him all the assignment a specific way which was a pain, but that also meant nothing was timed or in lockdown browser. I put in minimal effort and got an A so I would definitely recommend if you just need the credit and don't care about learning.
