One of the best guys here at Riddle. Plenty of stories to lighten the mood. Lots of group work, not alot of homework, but when he does assign hw, do it. Everyone in class got an A or B as long as they opened the book a little. Coolest guy here!

This teacher will make you laugh the whole semester but sometimes it interferes with his teaching. Get ready to ACTUALLY teach yourself rather than learning in class. Easy teacher overall though, definitily worth taking.

Wonderful teacher, very helpful, you need to try in this class and study. Very funny and he wants you to understand the topics. Test are pretty hard. There is a good amount of homework, but if you do the homework, it really helps. Some of the questions on the test come straight out of the homework. Highly Highly recommend!

Everyone always claims that their professor is the best. Hands down, Kirton IS the best professor that Riddle has. He's HILARIOUS, and has a ton of stories that relate directly to the class. Very helpful, and very impartial. I would recommend him to ANYONE taking AS132 (Next year he's teaching the AS132/33 combination class. don't know the name) A+

Great professor and tells the most funniest stories and jokes. He was a great Private pilot professor but i think he could've been a better instrument professor. Just make sure you get at least a 60 or higher going into that "do or die test" to pass his class. Only reason i passed his class was cause of the do or die test. 78 in both classes..haha

TAKE HM! He is hilarious, gives great advice on good flying practices, and he makes the information very clear. Tests can be challenging, but if you pay attention and do the work, you will be in good shape.

Kirton is very enthusiastic with the courses that he teaches. Always making you laugh, and has the best stories about previous episodes that he's been through. A bit hard, but with a lot of studying, you'll be fine. Very recommended.

Love him. He is laid back and yet takes his work seriously. He will tell us stories about accidents here at Riddle or in the general aviation industry if he knows about the details about it. He will also show videos relevant to the class. He is the best teacher/professor I have had in my life.

Humor carries Kirton's lectures. It allows what could otherwise be a frustrating course, maintain very light-hearted and interesting course. I must warn, his class is very timeconsuming because of the AOPA, GLEIM, reading and group quizzes. However, If you put forth the effort, scoring well on the test and achieving a good grade is realistic goal.

Prof Kirton is awesome. His teaching methods are great and you'll learn your material in his class. Anyone who says his classes are hard are just lazy and don't want to do the work. The majority of the work is done in teams.

Professor Kirton is HUNKY DORY!!! He has soo much experience from his aviation career and he relates all of his examples to the material being taught and it makes it 100 times easier to learn stuff. Amazing teacher best teacher i have had at riddle. I took him fro As121 As321 and did his study abroad. Great guy and willing to help. Makes sure everyone knows the information before giving a test. He has real world experiences and uses his stories to give you reason why you need to know the information. If you have a chance take his class!

Kirton is an awesome teacher, take any class with him, with a little work you can get an A. There are usually more than one assignment due at the beginning of class but if you are good at time management than this shouldn't be an issue.

Kirton is the man! Don't worry about buying the GLEIM book, every question you can type into a google search and find. Knows his stuff about airplanes. Took him for private and instrument. Tests can be challenging, but if you take good notes your fine.

Tells fantastic and funny stories with his lectures and really breaks down the material and makes it easy to remember. If you do all the assignments without cheating on them you will easily learn the material for the tests and the final gleim. I would definitely take him again!

Great professor. His passion is contagious. He has so many funny and cool stories. If you are in ROTC or Sports he is very accommodating and will cut you some slack as long as you are doing what you are supposed to. He's very willing to work with a student and doesn't mind extending due dates.

He is the best professor in the university. His lectures are are very good and is ready to help students. He is also a lenient grader, so you can except good grades.

Kirton is BY FAR the best teacher you can take for AS121 & AS221. He will help you out with anything at all if you come to his office hours. He also really cares about the students and is extremely passionate about aviation. TAKE KIRTON!!!

Since the dawn of aviation, Tom Kirton has been flying. His decades of flying instruments has made him a beacon of hope for the suffering instrument students. If you take this man, you will laugh, you will cry, you will endure frustration, you will be inspired. Prepare for the best.

Professor Kirton is a good choice to start. I recently came into Riddle with no flight experience, and he makes AS121 entertaining and comprehensible. As a tyro in Aeronautical Science, the class has plenty of "foreign language/terms", but he makes it understandable and actually enjoyable to learn. He teaches well; he is altruistic - take him! :)

Great professor! I had him for both AS 121 and AS 221. He cares about his students and truly enjoys teaching. He is extremely knowledgeable and willing to help students succeed. I absolutely recommend professor Kirton!

I had TK (his nickname) for AS121 (Private Pilot Operations) last semester and am having him again right now (in his class right now actually) for AS221 (Instrument Pilot Operations). I did rate him before during my AS121 class here, and from that, I have nothing to change of that rating. He's still really funny and a great professor! Take him!!!!!

Prof Kirtin is awesome! Punctuality is military style! If you are on time you are late! DO NOT MISS class! it's like NOT showing up to a military muster on time. Super knowledgeable and experienced. Engaging because of his funny corky humor during Pp. Love him. Exams are very difficult because tricky wording throws you off. Prepare to work for it.

TK's an awesome professor. He has roughly 5 DECADES of aviation experience. If you don't understand something, just ask and he has no problem taking a little extra time to make sure you get it. Doesn't mind side-bar conversation if you're helping someone out or asking a quick question regarding the material. Good sense of humor to boot.

Took him for AS121 and AS221 and I would love to take him for even more classes, but unfortunately he doesn't take anymore. He will make the lectures really interesting with his stories that have a lot of lessons hidden in them. His tests are clear as he has a test guide and goes over all the important topics in the review classes.

AS121 professors allot two quizzes (Gleim quizzes and a reading quiz from PHAK primarily) before each class, however, professor Kirton does not require other additional homework. His energy at 6:45-7am is incredible, and his humor is contagious. Requires self study, then lecture reteaches subject.
