Took western civ in the spring, Western civ 2 in the summer. Watched videos the whole time, got out early. Take it if you need a history to transfer.

I had little to no interest in the Holocaust before and when I signed up for the class. The very first day I was blown away! Mr. Kowalick does a very good job balancing all the different aspects of the material. I would highly reccomend this class to anyone. It will change your view of life and how evil people really can be to each other.

the professor is a very interesting person. He is teaching us about the ghettos in Warsaw and Auschwitz. He really gets into it. We have discussions about the videos we watch after we watch them.

Mr Kowalick is a great teacher and incredibly easy to get along with. He doesn't take any bs but is very understanding about absences etc. In Holocaust studies you will explore the events leading up to it, the repercussions, and look in depth into just what went on. After taking his class you will see it's far more complex than "Jews died".

he is very good at showing history and telling us why it happen, shows the feelings of others what they go thought back then and some of the images of the videos we see that goes along with our studies is what not to forget.

He is a great teacher. He is helpful with understaning of the holocaust, western civ I and II in general and in depth study. I recommend his classes to any student wanting to further their education in history or needing a good credit to transfer.

This class is ver interesting I have learned several things that I didn't know before. The videos in the class are interesting and informative and he puts a new twist on the hollywood films. The book was cheap but holds a lot of information. This class is easy but informative particpation is key!!!

This class is extremely different than Mr. Kowalick's Western Civ's classes. Mr. Kowalick has a passion for the Holocaust and when he is teaching you can defintely see that. I like the way we watch movies and then discuss them. But, sometimes I think we maybe watch tooooo many movies.

This course is incredably important because it introduces the story of the holocaust to young students, many of whom knew nothing about it. Tom Kowalick teaches this course in a way that makes the class understand the Horrifics that the jews suffered. He introduces us into the minds of the Nazis and makes us aware of their evil mentality.

I would suggest this course to everyone, it's so important that we are knowledgable about what happened in The Holocaust. This course is definitely eye-opening and really will have a great affect on your life. Mr. Kowalick has taken on a HUGE endeavor with teaching this course, and I believe he does a great job!

I like this class because not only is it informational, but you gain interesting knowledge along the way. Mr. Kowalick knows what he is talking about and the films we watch are about true events and show us things that are not able to be expressed verbally. Some say he doesnt know how to use a DVD player...but look at the students who cant either!

The class is one that you must take if you have any interest at all in the Holocaust. Prof. Kowalick gives you a in depth look at what it was really like for those in concentration camps and even the soldiers. This isnt a class about hitler, only those affect by the holocaust.

Kowalick is an interesting instructor. He keeps me focused and the class is very informative. After most sessions he asks for the classes opinion over what we just heard or saw and answers any questions we had on the subjects. This class added depth to my understanding of the Holocaust. Mr. Kowalick covered a variety of topics from many perspectives. For example, the media in Europe covered the news of concentration camps differently than the media in the United States. Plenty of time for discussions and questions. Highly recommend this course.

Class was hard but worth it. The book is amazing & cheap. Mr. K does an amazing job at making you think. The purpose of the class is to educate not only on why, how, when but that it DID happen. Evil exists, were all capable of it. We can never forget, so that it never happens again! I more than recommend this class, it should be mandatory.

The Holocaust class is the most eye-opening class I've taken in college thus far. Mr. Kowalick is a great intellectual on the Holocaust, and he embedded the information so deep in my mind I do not believe that I could ever forget what he taught me.
