Classes are straight lecture, go to class and listen attentively you'll be fine. Many quizzes, essay midterm, essay and multiple choice final.

I took him for summer03 history class and it was a pretty easy class overall. be there for the lectures and you will know everything on the test. put detail into essays and you will get an A. very good professor i actually learned a lot from him.

Very clear and smart man. Strict on class being quiet. Taught interesting matter on American foreign policy.

A little bit of a high school teacher when it comes to absences and tardies but he's interesting to listen to (most of the time) and he gives you all the outlines in the beginning of the class!

Tough class, and can be an ass but I certainly learned a lot bcuz of this. Very knowledgeable proff, & willing to help you if you are willing to help YOURSELF; no hands being held in this class like Kindergarteners, but well worth the knowledge obtained.

Mean to certain students. May seem to hold grudges. Good Teacher though learned alot. Makes class fun by relating certain matters to policy and events today. Read book and dont talk in class and will be alright.

Pay attention in class and take notes on the lectures. If you read the book and pay attention, you should not have the slightest problem with getting an A, much less passing the class.

Awesome teacher! All tests are almost completely off the notes (montezuma published, you don't have to write them)! Tests are easy if you just listen and he makes subject semi interesting.

Very clear and well defined. Not and easy class but if you but in 20 min. out of class to study you should do well. Always takes role so dont miss too much. Subject isnt that interesting but his passion for it make it tolerable.

Very imformative, learned a lot without doing much. Don't really have to read but make it to class and don't fall asleep! Tests aren't really that hard and his grading is on your rank in the class which helps a lot! Good teacher to have, i recommend him!

Great teacher and to the person who said they are getting him fired a highly doubt it and you were probably the rude ass sleeping in class or reading your paper. Also had for History of Vietnam, this class should be taught every semester.

he's very rude but his class isn't that bad..quizzes are based on his lectures which is based on book for the class that has the summary of his lecture...show up to class and don't sleep and he won't be rude to you

Go to class and you will be fine. He takes attendance everyday, it's a pain. He has interesting stories to tell, but showed WAY too many movies.

LIDe is one of the best teachers there.. the class is pretty easy!!! TRUST ME!! =).. take it.. attendance is taken but other than that.. just read and the handouts are the easiest!!! TAKE HIM! U WONT REGRET IT!! =D

Go to class. he is very big on attendance, but I didnt have a single class that went the full time. Gives you all the study guides and quizzes are taken directly from there. Class is easy if you study and go to class.

the class is fairly easy, its true that he runs it like a boot camp and you need meth just to stay awake in lecture, but buy his reader and mark it up and it will be easy. p.s. f*** the cornell note taking system.

Most people rag on him about not going to class, I always went and never read the book. 99.9% of what he talks about in class in on the test so if you are smart you just need to show up and not even take notes because you can buy his book with them in it.

Easy... just read out of the reader, show up to class... You don't even really need to read it, he'll read it to you in class. He is kind of a malik (a ****) but it doesn't really matter since the class is so easy.

A very liberal teacher. He is very intelligent, and he knows his stuff but he's boring. He made me question my beliefs in Catholicism,and allowed me to realize the truth in the evolutionary theory and science.

he recommends pot over binge drinking...he is very liberal, and he's a pretty nice guy. the class is kind of difficult if you don't read his reader, but besides that if you read it everything on the tests are in that big white bound notebook. learn to love it

Alright he is kind of an **** but thats just his style. All you have to do is go along with the reader and you will be fine. I never read Adler and got an A in the class, so just put up with the lectures. Oh yeah and if you have decent attendance he totally gives you the benefit of the doubt.

Very easy class. The Lide Reader is the key to success. Read it, highlight it. Go to class and listen to his lectures, which go along with the reader because thats where the test q's come from. Liberal and intellegent, makes you think. Gives you study guide for Midterm. Top 15% of class=no final!

Overall a great teacher. Quizes...A lot! and two essay midterms...really hard! Gotta read! read! read! His lectures are really interesting though and he makes you learn even if you hate history!!

Awesome teacher. The tests came right out of the reader and they were pretty much straight forward facts that you would know even if you read the text once fast. Cancels classes a lot :-). Nice teacher too.

Class was easy. No hw at all, just two 30-pg readings a week which was not too bad. Lectures right out of his READER which he gives concisely and tests/quizzes based on 4-5 chapters every 2 weeks or so. Grades on a curve. One midterm and no FINAL if you make top 15% of class. Read & do well on tests

Lectures were informative, just try not to fall asleep. He's into current events, always bring the past to present, visaversa. I learned a lot, geography of the world mostly. Got a B, fairly easy, could of gotten an A, but the map quiz...Learn your countries(and rivers, straits,seas,and mountains)!

He expects you to read 3ch. a week, but they are short. If you can't handle that, then don't take him. Grades are based on class rank, top 5-15% don't take the final. I had a 81% on points, but got an A & didn't have to take the final. He's kind of gruff, but really direct. Class really isn't hard.

Took him for Hist 101 and 109. You will not find a better History Prof than Lide. Consider taking his once a week class...a lot of reading but quizzes and exams not hard if you keep at it. His in-class essays can be pretty rough though. Discussions were cool when we had them (which was hardly ever).

By far the best lecturer I've had at state. A lot of reading though, easy tests answers will mainly come from his reader so if you read that only you and attend lectures u should get at least a C. Consider taking him in a once a week course is the best. Attendance is important, will not let you leave early. Great teacher u will lear a lot!

This teacher expects a lot of reading in a very short time. He has a very short temper when it comes to cell phones and things like that but otherwise he is pretty cool about things.

Lide is the man. He is the most admirable **** I have ever met. One time a girl put a happy face at the end of her test and he crossed it out and put a sad face and asked if English was her first language. Do I need say more. He hates dumbasses. Very easy A if you just listen to what he says and read the textbook.

Can sometime get really upset if you are late to class but he definetly knows his stuff about history. i would probably suggest not taking him, really hard tests.

This isn't an easy A, but if you study, the bell curve helps ya! In any other class, i would be at B-, here, I am at a low A! wahoo

By far easiest classes I have taken at State. You must be retarted or have some sort of disability to not succeed in his class. Just reread the notes he provides you with, skim the text, know the geography of the places you study, and you are fine.

super easy class but lectures get kind of boring sometimes especialy if you have the 8:00 am class which is a struggle on how to rest your eyes with him not noticing. just read his "Lide Reader" and you will get an A or B, very good and interesting History class especialy if you like history (like me)

haha idk why everybody doesnt like him... if you pay attention in class and do some studying the night before the quizes youll do fine... i guess an interest in the subject helps but if ur not late or on ur phone he wont yell at you id take him again id he was there

I can see how a lot of people would really hate this teacher. He was on a lot of people's butts about everything, and of course if you were late he would lecture you on it in front of the class. However, I thought he was a great teacher if you just followed the rules. He knew his stuff and was a great teacher. I would take his class again any time.
