NICEST teacher you will ever have at siena. If you want to laugh on a daily basis, its the place to be!! Hard Tests, but he ALWAYS gives the benefit of the doubt. Don't graduate without taking him AT LEAST once!

Swan is the man....he is so funny, talking about sex all the time. He is so random that its great. He is a really good teacher and does what he can to make it easier for you. Swan is one of the best teachers at siena. you have to take him at least once

Swan is an awesomes professor...his tests are hard..but other then that he is a laid back teacher, who knows his stuff and what he is talking about Must take him dont be scared about his tests just study for them and you will do fine in his class

This professor is one of the nicest professors one will ever encounter. He is the best one to teach phych. because he is normal and down to earth.

Great Teacher, knows his stuff and just modified grading system to help make up for hard tests. Daily quizzes with questions posted on the internet in advanced, these boost your grade alot if you bother looking in advanced but the tests are still tough.

Good teacher but a bit on the eccentric side. Everyday quizzes are posted online for easy 100's. Classes are most definitely sometimes odd but definitely not the worst teacher that you could have.

He is such a cool guy and the class is really enjoyable. He's revised things so the the grading is a lot easier; he drops the bottem 10% of test grades (which are easy 100s anyways) and he provides notes that are easy to study from. One of my favorite classes.

Good teacher. Knows his stuff. Daily quizzes. Tests are not hard if you keep up with the reading. Tends to go off topic alot but is fun....sweats like a pig....but take his class!

Very easy teacher, with OK tests. Quizes almost every class, you have the answers beforehand though- easy 100! Article summary- another easy gimme. If you show up you are garunteed to do well, even if you dont do so well on the tests. Definitely try to take him for a fun class you can do well in!!

T-swan is super funny. He makes class extremely interesting and fun. Never hard to get up to go to his class. Only thing is that his 2 tests are a scorcher! Ah, thank god for his curves. Overall good teacher.

Brilliant! Caring, sensitive and receptive to his students. Tough tester, fair grader, organized lectures and semester. Will negotiate test dates and assignment due dates. Considerate and easy to like. Challenging assignments, enlighting lectures

I had Swan for 2 classes. He was extremely helpful with his students in all the classes that he taught. He brought a lot of insite with the internship class and has an amazing sense of humor! If you do have any trouble with class GO SEE HIM! PLEASE! You'd be stupid not to go. Plus he has comfy chairs in his office!

Tom is a really nice professor. He loves what he does, and wants you to understand. I took him for foundations. He was a push-over in class, but is an extremely hard grader. His essays are difficult, but i think he's used to upperclassmen. You have no choice in your foundations teacher, but Tom is not the worst one you could get by any means.

Hard class if u dont read, but Tom makes the class very fun. Always explains the works to you in a clear cut manner. Always available to help. Treats his class as a democracy, so negotiations are allowed. great guy and very funny

He grades really hard but he's a nice guy. I think if you try or don't try you're not going to get anything but a B. It's rediculously a lot of work if you are a Science major, but he is helpful if you can even find the time to see him.

Laid back guy; interesting class (Psych. of morality) It was a seminar so it was independent study oriented. Very open to others opinions, no pressure. Knowledgeable and approachable.

I had Tom Swan for a few of my classes. He assigns lots of readings. But he is the nicest professor I have ever met. He is very approachable and always willing to help. He really cares about his students.I would definitely take him again. Ohh and he tends to cancel class at least once each semester.

Awesome teacher!A lot of people don't really enjoy foundations but this was one of my favorite classes. Tom loves to hear what we have to say. Just make sure you go to class and do all of the discussions you were suppose to. Very easygoing and understanding teacher. Also no tests which is a plus :) definitely recommend taking him if you can!

TOM IS THE GREATEST! Not only s he always good for some laughs but really makes you think about the topics we are covering. He challenges his students and is always available for help! He is very understanding and is a professor that is on the side of the students! I definitely recommand having Tom as your professor! Love him!

Tom Swan is a great professor in my mind. He makes you do work, but at the same time makes class fun. He comes up with hands on activities, such as the happiness project, that make the class enjoyable. I really recommend you taking him because he is a great professor that teaches you many things.

Dr. Swan is GREAT! I always look forward to his classes, makes class discussions very interesting. He cares for you as a person and is willing to help if needed. Definitely recommend !!!!

Tom Swan is very helpful, he makes you think but the material is very intresting. He gives extensions on papers which is very helpful.He is very hands on.I would reccomend taking classes with him.

Amazing professor, and an amazing man. Tom is very down to earth and has a great relationship with his students. He made me want to learn, and I found myself thinking of the subject matter outside of the classroom. I Would definitely recommend taking a class with Tom.

Outstanding and wonderful professor! He's very understanding and a good listener. He is always willing to help anyone and gives them time for their work. The class is very friendly and it is not like any other classes. The class may be challenging, but it's worth it. He always has a positive attitude! Great teacher, definitely suggest him.

Tom is a very nice teacher who is understanding, he will give extensions if you ask. He understands you have other work to do. Also tom does assign homework all most every night but the homework you do helps alot when you try to write your essays. Overall great teacher.

Tom Swan is a nice man. He makes the class enjoyable MOST of the time with fun and interesting discussions; however, there are sometimes uncomfortable and inappropriate conversations. He can be a tough grader, but is often fair. Generously gives extensions. Gives A LOT of reading and essays.

Tom Swan is a great professor. He really takes the time to help his students out. He holds fun class discussions on the many readings that we had to do. Numerous essays throughout the year but he will always give an extension. Pretty fair grader. Overall awesome teacher. Probably one of the easiest for freshman seminar.

I think he's a really cool guy, but his tests are a lot harder then the rest of the comments make it seem. If you don't have a good history of biology his class is really hard to keep up with because he requires you to know A LOT for the tests. If none of it is review it's really difficult.

Tom is a great professor. I'm not even a Psych major but took another Psych class after having him for Intro last year. He focuses on getting you to actually understand the material rather than memorize a bunch of useless info to spit back on an exam. He's kind of a strange guy but as long as you get past that his class is really enjoyable.

Great professor

I really liked that Dr. Swan laid out exactly what he wanted and how to produce the work he wanted to see. It required effort and critical thinking but if you follow his guidelines, you learn a lot and do well.

An all around fantastic professor. Very passionate about what he teachers, cares about teaching you more than giving you a grade, but grades very easily. Fun to be around, amiable, and willing to help if needed. Made class enjoyable, knows his stuff, and has interesting stories that takes him on tangents sometimes. Would definitely take again.

I love Tom Swan! He actually makes going to class so worth it. His classes are always interesting, funny, and clear. He works with you on deadlines and assignments and just makes the class overall fun. I took sexual behavior with him and if it's offered, jump on that - it was the best class I've ever taken and it is very easy to get an A

If you can take Tom, do it! He's extremely caring, funny, and genuinely cares about his students. He respects students and in return everybody loves and respects him as a prof. He's pretty tough on essays, but is always willing to give extensions and always provides feedback to help you.

Easily one of the best Psych professors when it comes to the advanced classes. Really interesting, easier grader, and allows for students to actively participate. Tests aren't too difficult and as long as you do the readings you're all set!

Tom is so great! Very nice and very easy-going. If you do the hw (very short and easy) you get 10/10 for it. The tests are straightforward and he gives you a study guide which is very helpful. He doesn't take attendance so if you skip nbd just ask someone in class what you missed (its usually not much). I would definitely take him again.

I LOVE TOM! Hands down best professor Ive ever had. His lectures are amazing & you can tell he loves what he does. So down to earth & relatable. Only one essay which he will give you an extension on. Tests are fair, notes & textbook readings cover it all. You don't have to read the textbook but it has multiple choice q's that he puts on tests

I LOVE TOM! I took him for both PSYC101 and PSYC255 and he's the best professor at Siena. He is very passionate about what he does, tests you exactly on what he tells you and even provides study guides. It's very easy to talk to him and will extend test dates/assignments if you ask. 2 Mini-Projects, 3 Exams, and Quizzes based on readings.

Tom is one of the best professors at Siena. if you get a chance, take Sexual Behavior - it's a fascinating class and you learn a ton! He's also great for the advanced classes, he will work with you but you need to make an effort. He's available outside of class and truly wants you to succeed. If you're a psychology major, take him for seminar.

Tom is a great overall teacher, I had him for Theories of Personality. You are going to write quite a bit, but you are actually going to take something away from his course. He has his own format of teaching which is a huge relief from the same format other teachers use. He gives you 5 skips which is better than the usually 3. Overall great guy.

This is your sign to take Sexual Behavior with Tom Swan. Best class Ive ever taken. Highly recommend. He is a great professor and cares about you and your education. It does require a bit of work and effort but it all pays off. The topics are interesting and makes the work worth it.

Great professor. One of the best or maybe the best prof I have had at Siena. Goes beyond teaching the material and tries to get you to really think about it. Teaches not just the material in the course but how to think and how to study.

Not a bad class. I took it because it's required for degree. Definitely work heavy, tests are okay. They cover a lot and the written questions are the worst part. If you take good notes, then it might help but not all the time. I honestly wouldn't re-take this class but it wasn't horrible, just not an interest.
