B-O-R-I-N-G!!! Bring some cold water to splash on your face.

Really hard marker, and more boring than any other teacher I have ever had.
Very interested in the topic-made it interesting
easy exams, good teacher but the material can be a bit boring
A little tough and quite boring -- but then again, it is Canadian history
he is a very stubborn and closed minded teacher who is stuck on his own opinions
Tough, tough exams, good lectures, one can gets lots out of this course.

gives you test questions beforehand you just have to study, but talks too fast

Talks really fast, lots of notes, and you will not be able to reason with him at
close minded, egotistical, and opinionated
he makes canadian history, friendly teacher, hard markers on essays though

Boring lectures, hard marker, BAD TEACHER.

Essays topics are to vague and boring

Way to go Tom!! .. you rock!
He makes a boring history course fun! Easy tests!
lectures verrry FAST!! marks essays hard...
save yourself, while you can!
Gives exam questions far in advance... very willing to help... easy essay marker but hard essay topics... makes history interesting... if you go to class YOU CANT FAIL!
Talk fast, just go to class and take notes, as for essays be creative
Hes very nice and gives everybody a chance to speak in class.
Awful! Not at all helpful. When I asked for help all he would say was you need more . Any teacher who uses his own book is arrogant. Run in the opposite direction.
Made history enjoyable, if you have troubles with history, U shouldn't be at KUC. Maybe preschool. Nice guy, very approachable, and made class fun without sacrificing what dignity KUC has left.
He's a good teacher if you simply pay attention! Plus he is very approachable
hard marker, u have to be clear with test questions, essay's are hard very confusing, lectures are boring and long and he talks way to fast.
Great prof. Tests are so easy, he gives the questions in advance. will pre-mark essays and you can re write them. gives 10% class participation. Makes history revelent and interesting. Favorite proff @ kwantlen.
hes a very hard marker. go to class and pay close attention, he talks very quickly.
He's very clear. He makes it clear the material you need to know and doesn't add anything to the exams or essays.
If you go to class and listen to the lectures and don't lose the exam questions that he gives you at the beginning of the semester you'll ace his class. But on the exams be very clear with your answers.
he is a great teacher. Very fast paced. The essay and test questions are given right at the beginning of the course. Just take notes and pay attention and you will do great.
Say something every class for participation points, take his offer to pre-read your essay. Fast paced class, review notes after class to complete notes. Skip Brown. Gives exam questions on 1st day; know your stuff and you will easily get an A.
If you do not get an A in his class then the problem is with the student. He is the best professor, an easy A. His tests are easy but a bit tough on the essays. Very enjoyable class, make use of his office hours.
nice man, assuming you come to every class....miss a class and you become the devil to him. great class to take if you have no life and can be there 100% of the time
goes through the material very quickl. don't even bother reading brown. pay close attention. participate.
He makes History fun!
Fast talker, close minded, and rude. Make sure your on his good side!
As long as you pay attention and are not shy to ask a question if you are lost, this class is an easy A. He is reasonable as long as you are not a whiner.
Interesting class. Tips included; taking thorough notes in order to do well on this exams. Three exams and two essays are all 18% each and plus 10% participation. Make sure you take good notes because they will straight up answer your test questions.
This guy is a subjective marker and will punish you if you show up late to class. Tell me how i can get a A with another instructor in the first half of CDN history and then fail after taking the 2nd half with this guy.
Very fast talker. Doesn't seem to slow down. Lots of work, so be ready for a lot of note taking.
Great Class. Was thoroughly interesting. Most people required a lot of notes. He values creativity far more than effectiveness, especially on the group presentation. Brown was pointless, but worth the $15 if you enjoy history.
He's a good teacher. If you need help, he's always there. You just got to study for the tests. But he marks hard when it comes to essay's. I would take him again.
Nice guy, willing to help if you ask
Nice guy and makes Canadian history somewhat interesting. As helpful as you want him to be out of class and let's you know exactly what he wants on tests (essays are a little tougher but not impossible).
He's very excited about what he's teaching and is very interesting to listen to.
He tends to think that everything he talks about in class is somehow on the textbook, which ofcourse, it is not. Unless you are talkative & somehow got his attention or you would have to be a fast & active note maker to be able to success in his class.
tom is a great eacher he doesn't get hung up trying to fool people with tricky test questions. He'll tell you straight out how to answer the test questions which he gives out before the test. If you work hard you can get an A+ on all tests...essays harder
Very easy and straightforward class, his tests are real easy. He marks the essays quite hard though and makes you stay till end of the class.
Nice guy, gives u test and essay questions 1st day of class..need to listen and take good notes...wants lots of detail when answering test questions, in order to get a good mark
he is an awesome prof! gives the test questions and essay questions on first day. essays are a little difficult but just ask him for help and you will be on your way. if i could take him again i would!
This teacher was awesome...made history interesting and was very compassionate to the class.
Tom is a wonderful teacher. He is so compaionate about History that he makes Canadian History actully very interesting. In addition, he is a very captivating teacher who can hold your attention in class the entire time. Tom cares about his students also.
he may seem easy yea he gives the questions before hand but he usually has his favorites in the class and it can be easy to do bad in the tests if u dont have all the answers before hand. its alot of work, he talks sooo much all u do it write in his class
This is a good history class to take. Thorner gives you the test questions before your test and he is very passionate about history. He does go really fast in class but he does make it pretty interesting considering what your learning.
Thorner is the best teacher for history, He makes learning about the past exciting, which I've never experienced before. He is very passionate about teaching and cares about the welfare of his students. I would recommend him anyday!
The understanding and the clearity of Thorner's lectures is very well done. However, his essays and tests are extremely hard. By looking at it may seem easy but most of the time it is hard. One example was when Ive studied all week long and I failed due to grammar and vocabulary errors.
I don't understand how anyone can say that his essays and tests are hard! He gives you the test questions in advance and the answeres are directly from the lecture! Also, for him to fail someone based on grammar there would have had to been MAJOR errors, maybe you should have proof read your paper.
AWESOME teacher! he gives the test questions and essay topics in the FIRST class and spends his entire lectures focused on answering those questions. VERY approachable and helpful. just keep your answers short and to the point and you'll do great! he makes it interesting too.
Gives you test & essay q's first day of class but marks very hard, u must elaborate a lot on every point to get full marks on tests. Marks everything before the next class so that's always nice. Moves very fast in lectures so if u don't understand u must speak up!!
Lectures are very detailed and comprehensive. Talks fast though and if you ask questions to elaborate or explain things better, he gets annoyed/impatient with you! I never had to do a research paper though which was a relief. Very hard marker on essays and exams. Learn alot but not easy, be warned.
Tests are really easy but essays are hard.
-Hard Marker- but his lectures are straightforward and interesting. He is a very jolly man, with a great attitude. Very Competent in Canadian History
His tests are straight forward if you attend class. He marks hard on essays.
This guy is basically an A-hole but you can respect how he has been around Canada and done research. He shows a much more intresting view than the stuff you learned in highschool. If he doesn't make you hate him he can be very helpful. Thankfully he gives the test questions in advance.
his tests are NOT HARD..as long as u memorise the key terms (in full sentenses) ur all gud last sem i studied everything the night b4 but as long as u pay attention in lectures ur' gud 2 go. his essays are kinda tough but if u give gud references& ur paper doesn't seem like a 8 yr old kid wrote it
No Comments
This guy will target you if you show up late.
test are easy and his lectures are informitive. He's a hotty
loved this class. gives u test/essay q's on the 1st day. tests are EASY if u attend class and take notes. give u lots of points in class, but you only have to kno 20 things per question per test. super easy
His unprofessionalism and bias personlity clearly stood out. I accidentally mispronounced his name (I'm ESL) and he demonstrated an obvious resentment towards me which reflected in my mark. I tried to discuss it with him BUT he turned away in disgust. I just wanted to resolve any personal issues.
He su-cks, I had to do everything and HE FORCES YOU TO BUY HIS BOOK. Talk about unethical!!!! He's making more money by selling you his stupid book. What a joke! By the way I got an A- so I'm not just hating
Thorner is not disrespectful, he just singles out those that are disturbing to the class and disrespectful through tardiness. He is a highly competant and personable prof. It is unfortunate that he only teaches two classes. As for book revenue, his royalties do not come even close to covering the time put into the time researching.
I hate this guy, If you are a first year student, DONT TAKE HIS CLASS. Piles of notes, the essay questions are related to HIS book! You can't use other sorces. He's really mean and expects you to know so much about boring un-useful history
BORING!!!!! I dreaded coming to this class! I needed both history's and I did so bad in his courses, but I can't stand to take him again. It's all about his stupid books and he thinks he is the king of the world. Sorry Tom but you suck!
Take good notes and will be fine though a hard marker
As a professor he is average, pretty clear in what he wants, tests are straightforward. ESSAYS on the other hand are bogus. Basically he's trying to justify why we have to buy his book. The Essays are based solely on his book. Arrogant and biased. He expects u to have the same passion for History that he does. ANNOYING, but not exteremely hard.
Probably the lamest class I've ever taken. He shoots down valid opinions if they stray from his pre-determined (read: on the overhead) lecture. If you enjoy memorizing 60 sterile facts about Canada and regurgitating them on paper at 3 different points in the semester, I suggest him.
He cares about history so much that it makes it annoying for everyone else. He gives all the questions for the midterm and final. He covers everything in class for the general questions, but not at all for the documnent questions. He is a very hard marker. He picks favorites. I personally dispised the class, made me want to slit my throat.
Best teacher! Very entertaining, happy, and excited about having his students learn. He covers all the material and gives easy tests that ensure that students get what they earn. He is always ready to help and hear comments from others. TOM ROCKS!
The worst at Kwantlen. Not just boring but arrogant and pompous. Probably writes his own positive reviews.
Tom is a very good teacher. Just because he makes you buy his book does not mean he is trying to steal your money. The documents are good and easy to understand and he is very clear through his lectures. His very enthusiastic towards History and I highly recommand anyone to take his class.
Class is boring but he is pretty clear on what he wants. Tests are so easy but he marks the essays hard. There is no reason why you can't get a good mark in his class all it takes is a bit of effort.
i hated history before taking this class and now i hate it even more. Tom talks so fast i actually would feel dizzy. he gives the test questions and the begining of the semester but its really of no help. He expects too much, since he worte the book he assumes that everyone knows every litttle detail in it, like him. Dont take him, actually just avo
Hes not that bad of a guy, really into history tho, seems like he expects the same from which can get annoying. He goes into depth when talking about historical happenings. The class is not too hard, u try, go to class and take notes u ll do fine.
all i can say is DONT DO IT, you will regret it
Tom was a good teacher, though sometimes he talked way to quickly. If you go to all the classes and take notes, you should do fine. If you can't get all the notes in one class, you can forget 1 question on the tst As for the presentation assignment, just answer all the questions and do a few good comparisons of the documents, and you will do well.
best history prof at kwantlen!...ppl think he talks to fast, but i think he's is too slow this semester.....he actually makes history interesting to listen to and you can tell he's really excited about history....his tests are so easy he gives u the exam questions beforehand..you can't ask for anything better then that
Crazy fast speaking proff but all the points add up and youll need them all for the exams to get full marks. If you miss anything just go to his office hours and hell be more then willing to give you the info you need....but seriously is that water or vodka hes pounding back during his lectures...lol.
It is obvious that Tom is very passionate about what he teaches. He makes history very interesting. Very good proff.
i HATED this class. he talks wayyyy too fast, slow down buddy!! even with a laptop, i had trouble keeping up. he's onto the next point before i can even comprehend what he said 2 seconds before. i would NOT take a class with him again.
You have to really pay attention, he does talk really fast, but you need the information for the exam. More is better for the exam, write as much as you recall. Okay course, I would take another with him, 'cause I like history.
He is the worse most horrible teacher I ever had. He just rambles on and on -so you don't understand anything! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS YOU WILL GET AN F- EVEN IF YOU ARE A GOOD STUDENT!!!! He screwed up my perfect GPA and gave me an F! My essays which are 99.9% A- papers were C-'s and my tests were bad. He should not be allowed to teach.
NOT ENJOYABLE! Took 2 of his courses 1113 and 1114. Got a C- in both. NO THANKS HORRIBLE PROF. Some say he has changed his format now and that he's better but he was horrible when I had him.
chump, not good at all, horrible.DO NOT TAKE...chump He should leave.
Tom does speak fast like everyone says..but that doesn't make his class hard, he gives the test questions and essay questions on the first day of class so just answer the questions in your notes and then you don't have to write down anymore. I think he made this class very interesting!
I really do not like history, but he made it interesting. I enjoyed the class which was a surprise to me, history is really usually boring. He is a very knowledgeable man! I would take him again for history. Also, he is helpful if you ask and it is definitely possible to get a great mark in his class if you try.
Very nice prof., but I'm not really into history.
He is a great professor who makes you work for your grade. He's always available if you need help and he makes the subject matter incredibly interesting. Warning though, he goes VERY fast and the Brown textbook was only opened once.
Very poor teacher. Boring, just talks really fast. Will punish you if you cross him, holds grudges against some people. Take the course with Frank Abbott. He's nicer and more interesting.
I hate this class. It's boring and uninspiring. You can pass by just memorizing dumb facts. He makes you buy his book!! How lame???
Very helpful comments on essays handed back!! I would say Tom really takes an interest in his students learning. Great teacher!
this person is crazy he is passionate about what he does and if you are willing to go in during office hours he is extremely helpful. yes its fast but if your good at short hand writing its great. overall great would take this class again
Gives exam questions before exam. Extremely helpful in office hours(very thorough). Presentations, easy. Lectures, extremely fast. Essays topics are sometimes hard, unless you have a strong arguement. Exams are tough(all written). Great use of the Thorner text, Brown text is useless. Interesting and knows his stuff, but not worth the grade.
awesome teacher, give you the exam and essay qyestions first day of class, will go over anything you want. always there for his office hours and very helpfull. makes history interesting. if you fail his class your retarded since he gives you the answers and questions before the exam
Thorner is an awesome teacher. He gives you all the exam questions and the essay questions on the first day of classes, making his exams super easy, if you study the questions...obviously. Thorner makes his classes interesting and easy to learn from. TAKE HIS CLASSES!!
This class is very interesting, and it is possible to get a very good grade.
Good Prof. 2 exams, 2 essays, and a document analysis is all you have got to do. Makes class interesting, sometimes talks a bit fast :P but all in all, a good prof
Heavy on the reading. No text books to buy - just PDF files to read. 150-200 pages/wk. Participation is a must in order to get an A.
Very good teacher. Gives you the exam questions and essay topics on the first day. I didn't do too well in the class, but it was because I was lazy and immature, but he is a good professor who is very passionate about his job.
His lectures are really interesting. Hard marker on essays though, you have tro be able to write a proper essay. Exam is difficult because he gives so much information in class that it's hard to remember all of it. Take him.
Not as bad as I thought it was going to be! Some chapters are boring yet others are very interesting! His tests are all about memorization so if you are good at that you'll get an A on every test! Essays were hard and time consuming. As a teacher he made me nervous to talk in class, put people on the spot, and wasn't very approachable.
Gives test and essay questions in the class outline. A lot of notes. Need to know the answers to the tests questions in great deal. Will help you during office hours.
Explanations are detailed, but speaks fast...hard to keep up. Uses rough language and takes God's name in vain.
Excellent prof. Heavy reading load for class but if you manage to keep up you'll do fine. Very helpful and approachable. This is a public university course, if you can't handle someone 'taking god's name in vain' and uttering the occasional swear word then perhaps you should seek out Trinity Western for your educational endeavors.
I never thought I'd find Canadian History interesting. He gives a tonne of information, but it's almost all interesting stuff. You only have to read a chapter a week, so it's not hard to keep up. He gives the essay questions in the outline, so it is super easy to study for the exams.
Good Professor. Knows the material well. Be prepared to write lots of notes. He has two books, one is required-a document book, and the second is recommended- a generaltext of Canadian History. He gives you mid-term and final exam questions on the first day of class. He talks fast so you are going to have to write fast.
Be on time and be prepared to take volumes of notes. Prof. Thorner sets up his lectures with interesting background info; very accomplished speaker. Tough marker on essays, but generous on exams, especially when he gives out the exam questions. Follow class guidelines and you will do fine. Also participate for those bonus marks.
Excellent lectures, wonderful teacher. Attending the lectures is very important.
Great teacher! He talks fast and for about half of the class so be prepared to take lots of notes. Gives out all test and esssay questions on the first day. Reading assignments are pretty easy. He wants you to do well so ask for help if there's something you're unclear about.
Tom makes Canadian history interesting, fun and easy to learn. He gives you all the exam and essay questions the first day, he is a ridiculously easy essay marker, and his tests are so easy I thought it was some kind of trick before I got my first test back. His lectures are crucial for the tests - don't miss them. They're really interesting anyway!
good prof, gets through material real quick. gives out test questions at the beginning of the course. tests are so easy, so are the essays. tests answers are given away in lectures, really all memorization and no thought into them. 10% of class is participation woudl take him again!
Good instructor, very fair in his marking. Be prepared to do a lot of work, and to contribute in class discussion. Our class included 2-short papers and 2 minor presentations on the papers, and then one major presentation, and a termpaper from that. No Midterm, but his Final will destroy you. Thorough preparation is vital.
By far my fav prof at KPU. As long as you write down everything he says you're good to go. Definitely suggest a laptop, he talks fast. Gives you exam questions on the first day, how anyone could fail is beyond me. It's all about memorizing the material but that's history for you! Essays a little tough. Over all excellent prof, had 2 classes w/ him
I thought going into this class that he was a good prof, but boy was i wrong.. His tests are ridiculus, he will tell you what he will give you marks for and then when it comes to marking, he marks you wrong for that same thing he said would get you a mark..Super picky and chooses favourite students, bad prof!
He's hilarious and even though is lectures are long and you have to take a lot of notes, he really makes the content interesting. His tests are very easy; it's impossible to fail unless you wanted to. Only his essays were difficult. I had to write one and he's a hard marker. Otherwise, I loved him!
Lectures/text are super interesting. He does talk really quickly, so either bring a laptop for notes or hope you can write fast! Attendance and participation are very important, and he does pay attention. He gives you all questions to exams on the first day, answers are from lectures. Exams all memorization - he is a little picky on some answers.
I am not a fan of history at all, and I loved this class. He gives you all the exam questions up front, and is very clear about what he's looking for. There is a lot of memorization for the tests, but if you show up and pay attention you'll be fine. But showing up is important. Don't leave at the break, you'll miss way more than it's worth.
Toms class is very interesting i have to admit. For a topic as dry as Canadian history hes brilliant at keeping ppl interested. But this isnt an easy course, if you work hard you can get the grade, he gives you exam questions ahead of time but demands very specific answers that you can only get by paying attention in class. Overall good class
Great professor, gives awesome advice, very willing to help when asked and extremely clear and concise when lecturing! Will keep taking classes with him until a graduate
Long lectures but always interesting. If you take notes and study you will do fine ones he gives you all the questions prior to the exam but he expects perfect and long detailed answeres (but if you show up and take notes you will be fine) Also one essay but he explains exactly what he expects. Really enjoyed the class :) I strongly recomend him!
the best professor. I've taken him 3 times and each time he is so concise and organized. tells you what is on the test, he's an absolute genius in his field, so helpful and approachable. you will never regret taking this prof. he's the reason i chose history as my major
Awesome Prof. Very clear with what he expects. Two exams and Essay. Gives all questions beforehand. Tells you EXACTLY what to study for the exams. If you put in a little effort its an easy B to an A.
I made the mistake of skipping out on class often, which bit me in the butt in the end but nevertheless I wanted to say Tom is an amazing teacher, very clear on what he expects and is very friendly to talk to. If you miss his class you are missing a lot of valuable information that is not in textbook and is on test. Take this class, do not skip!
He is very passionate about what he teaches. He tells you exact questions that are on his tests. He goes through his lectures a bit too fast, and is also an extremely hard marker. However, he is always willing to help. His class consists of two tests and one essay.
Tom tends to lecture through the material really fast, try to take as much notes as possible. He gives out all exam questions on the first day. He wants very specific answers in exams. He is very approachable and is happy to help his students, so don't be afraid to drop in office if you need clarification. Overall, an okay professor.
It feels as if he rates himself! Anyway, please avoid him. He is highly arrogant. He loves to embarrass his students.
Thorner is an awesome prof who is so passionate about Canadian History. He may be a fast lecturer and he may go off topic at times, but if you pay attention and write down as much as you can you are guaranteed an A! Personally loved this class!
Tom was probably one of the worst profs I have ever had. His notes are crucial to doing well in his class so attendance is mandatory. However, he speaks way too fast making it difficult to get all the notes in and his boring lectures make it hard to attend class. I do not recommend this prof if you want a good mark!
Worst class experience I've ever had. Messed up a tiny aspect on citations and he dropped my paper by 5 grades, while he only docked a few marks to someone who missed some citations completely. Constantly stressful, gave me migraines the whole semester. HORRIBLE PERSON
If you don't like long lectures then this class is not for you. The lecture itself is quite interesting until he goes off topic and completely looses you in the middle of it. Get ready to take many notes and read many pages. Though Canadian history is not the most interesting, he does add humor to it and like to make jokes. Overall, he's okay!
Talks way too much, no notes none of that. Have to attend every lecture if you want too pass. Unclear about essay. Downright Rude. Would definitely not take it with him ever again.
He's a good teacher, clearly states what he wants on the two tests. I thought he was quite a tough marker when it came to the essay though.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. Worst teacher ever. talks way too much and doesn't give you time to take notes.
I don't know how this guy has these ratings. This is the only class in which I am getting anything under an A. He is not at all helpful and doesn't even listen to your problems.
Tom is an amazing Prof, as long as you are not lazy. You do need to take good notes and study hard but he gives you the exam questions on the first day of class. Take good notes every class answers a certain question. If you take good notes and put in the effort to study you are quarenteed an A. I am on my third class with Thorner, & always A's!
Tom Thorner is not worth your time or money. Very boring lecturer even though he is passionate about his subjects. He gives way too much information regarding the subjects and claims that it will earn you credit on exams even in point form but doesnt give marks that reflect this. Yet he does not provide PPT slides online nor is a good speaker.
Took this class for an elective credit, wish I choose more wisely. It's poorly structured and dull. I expected a upper level class to encourge critical thinking but he just wants to you repeat the information back at him. Ut was only interesting because students did all the lecturing via presentations- or when they could get a word in edge wise.
Tom is not an easy marker, he expects you to read a great deal and his papers are brutal. However after taking his classes I felt more prepared to be able to discuss things and to think critically. IF, you're looking to take history as major or a minor then take him. He sets a good standard. If this is just a elective, then be warned.
Tom is a pretty amazing prof! I never really liked history in high school but by the way Tom teaches it, it became interesting and therefore, a great class to come to. Taking down the twenty points for each class is key to getting an A on his tests. He expects everyone to read a chapter every week which is reasonable h/w.
There is one paper, midterm and a final. You need to go to class in order to pass! Class participation is a must! He doesn't put his slides online so you need to take notes in class. He tells you all the questions on the midterm and final the first day of class. He will help you if you ask! lectures are very interesting! He is a tough marker.
Tom made History so interesting. You need to show up to every class to take notes for the exams.
I found Tom to be a very knowledgeable and respectable prof. He's also very helpful during office hours. Lecture heavy and tends to ramble but you can just let him know if that's the case. He gives you exam questions first class and each lecture is based on a question of the midterm so you're prepared from the beginning. He's a great prof.
Tom is great! hard to keep up with his lectures because he talks really fast, BUT you can always put up your hand to slow him down. After his lecture he gives you a chance to go over what he just said if you missed anything. Also he gives all the exam questions at the start of the semester. Don't be afraid to go over things with him outside class!
Lectures really fast, hard to follow, don't bother writing everything down, just answer the questions that will be on the exam as he gives them to you on the very first class of the semester. Make sure you do the readings as that's how he gives out participation marks which are worth 10% of your final grade.
I took this class for an elective but I regret it. He is a REALLY hard marker, and if you think you can take this class and not show up, you will NOT pass. It's really heavy on lectures, and his slides aren't uploaded and everything is basically lecture based. Highly recommend you not to take it if you wish to get an easy mark. Hard marker too.
He doesn't have slides, and talks quickly while giving information. He also goes back and forth while giving the notes making it hard to organize. He gives the questions for all exams in the beginning of the semester, and each day of class answers 1 of the questions. You can show him your notes before hand and he will mark what you need for an A.
highly regret taking this class, i have never done so horrible. I spent day and night studying for his exam for a good week with my 3 classmates but everyone in the class did so horribly he is such a hard marker. His essay criteria makes no sense. if you take his class be prepared to write 10 pages filled with notes every class
I regret taking this class with Tom as he speaks way too fast through lecture and expects students to write down everything he has to say during this time. Don't get me wrong he is a nice professor, but he does not explain what he expects on the essay or the midterms. Also, he marks some points wrong on the exams even though he taught them to us.
Super great! He really cares if his students succeed. Awesome guy!!
you get your mark based on one midterm, one essay, and a final exam, he partially gives u the answers for the exams which are nice but when it comes to his marking then it is the hardest thing ever. he wants all your answers VERY detailed and if it isnt then you will fail. he also goes very fast during lectures. i wont not recommend him at all!!
Take his class if you want to waste your time, and money and fail. Definitely do not recommend taking his class at all.
dont take his class! he is rude and does not listen to what students have to say. if you say the wrong answer, he gets offended. very tough marker, basically need to write every little detail
save yourself and do not take his class - he knows his stuff - rude - goes wayy to fast - makes the female students feel awkward with his sexist comments
he passed me, so i like him hard class unless you are very dedicated and put in effort for everything
Attendance is extremely mandatory, but overall the class is easy to pass. The course focusses on prepping you for the exam and often he goes throuh the test answers.
If you feel like you are falling behind go talk to him about what your options are. Do not be fooled, although he gives you the questions for the exams at the beginning of the semester he expects a lot and is tough grader. Get him to check over your notes before the exams.
very tough marker, goes wayy to fast during lectures, and expects over and beyond for the exams. so do not take him
Easy to do very well on the exams if you do the reading, show up to class, stay for the discussion on the reading and take good notes. Hes passionate about the topic it seems.
Great professor. One of the few professoes I've met whose brains I would love to be able to tap. He's not 100% PC though, and honestly I think that makes him a better instructor, because you actually have to think, rather than just accept his perspective.
