Hard class but Wyrick is really funny and makes the lecture interesting. Grade scale is 100-80:A, 80-70:B, 70-60:C, 60-50:D.
Tries way to hard to be funny. Does not explain info very well and gets off subject very easily. Tests are different than what was covered in lectures.
He is soo goofy, you never know what'll happen in class...never knew econ could be funny...the tests can be hard if you dont study enough, but he has a cool grading scale and is willing to curve grades
this guy is hilarious. holy crap that class was fun. he has the best sense of humor i'd ever seen in a professor, he made me want to come to class each day. plus, his grading curve is great, and he goes over the stuff fairly well. definitely take it
He is a really fun teacher. Sometimes he gets off track, but it makes it more interesting. He can be a little unclear about what he is talking about, but he would willingly help you if you asked. Reading the book also helps too. He is lots of fun.
THIS TEACHER IS A RIOT!HE CALLS PEOPLE HE IS TALKING ABOUT "BAST*RDS" AND IS ALWAYS CRACKING JOKES AND TELLING STORIES. HIS TESTS ARE A LITTLE HARD BUT IF YOU STUDY YOU ARE OK, AND HE HAS A 3% CURVE SO THAT HELPS TOO!
The silliest guy who will ever teach a class. He's a good teacher who stops lectures at times to tell some outrageous story, such as his attraction for alien women. It's a fun class and he has a great grading scale.
Wyrick rules the world. He is pretty funny and the class wasn't too tough. Definately take him.
Really funny. He tires to relate the material to things to make it easy to understand. Quiz every week but not that bad. Test are a little hard. Good class overall.
He is so hilarious. Definitely worth your time to go to class. Test are super hard though so you have to study but he has an awesome curve. You will never be bored in this class and will keep your attention.
Tests are pretty hard because the questions were confusing. He's funny but sometimes his lectures seem pointless.
Awesome teacher and a very interesting class. However, his tests were very hard, but the stock market game you play is a lot of fun and you actually learn something as well.
Funny. But sucks as a teacher. Doesn't explain clearly what he wants.
I really hate his class, and although I liked him at first, I'll never take another class from him again.
HARD TESTS! Quiz every week
He was really funny. Quiz every week. Confusing tests.
Dr. Wyrick is incredibly funny and interesting. Yeah, his tests are hard, but if you put some time into trying to understand the material you will be fine. Also, the weekly quizzes can really boost your grade.
Great teacher and good at money and banking. Lectures are interesting and he keeps your attention. Tests can be kinda difficult, but go to class and study. Great elective for COBA majors. Hilarious too!
Awesome teacher-by far, one of the best I've every had. Funny guy, makes a boring subject fun. Tests are very difficult though, but he usually curves-study and make the quizzes and you'll do fine
Could get more information from reading the book. Still a nice personality when it best benefits himself.
He is funny, but makes no sense. His tests are sooo hard. There is usually a curve, but only because everyone fails.
All he talked about was getting **** and getting speeding tickets. He would get to class late and by the end of the week we hadn't covered anything. Quizes are difficult because he is unclear on what type of answer he wants. He wants to be cool.
Wyrick wastes a lot of class time on irrelevant topics. He expects students to teach themselves 75% of the material. He doesn't prepare students adequately for his very difficult tests. He is helpful outside class.
Very Very nice. Good teacher... sit in front row he will talk to you, class pretty boring but not too difficult. Read the book like you are supposed to and you will have no problems!
This professor is not recommended. The telecourse is not what you expect it to be. Never go to him for help because he will just tell you about how he has failed in college. You will not get a straight answer. In my mind this professor should be fired from his job.
Good grief, talk about bad and annoying. I even asked about him before I had the class. I was sick a ton this semester-thus missed several classes-but when I was there I went "why did I come? He isn't talking about economics. He is talking out his pa-tootie." Difficult exams! Annoying Quizes! Arg.
If you don't expect for economics to be easy for you don't take this teacher. Although I have an A in the class, he really didn't teach me that much. If you read the chapters and go to class you'll probley get a B or C. The only go thing is his scale is lower so an 87% is an A 77% is a B and so on.
This class is more work than ECO 305, but overall an interesting class. It helps to read and study. Tests are challenging, so its good to get as many points on the non-test work as you can. Wyrick is funny and keeps your attention.
very hard tests, mainly because he doesn't talk about economics in class he just tries to be cool and funny
Sure the course is a little hard, but everyone makes him out to be a blow-off. He does teach you a lot and I have got the notebook of lecture notes to prove it. Yes he gets off subject, and he wants to be cool, but he just wants to make the class as painless as possible.
Wyrick is enthusiastic when trying to teach a boring subject. He can be a little overbearing when trying to talk to him. Tests are very hard but with curve, extra credit, and grading scale it is possible to get A's or B's. Telecourse was long and confusing at times with no chance to ask questions.
He is a very funny guy and makes the class laugh alot. He also cant stay on topic. A very hard class. There is a quiz every Monday and three very hard tests. Very boaring class!
Wyrick was an awesome teacher! Yes, the class was hard, but he made the material interesting and fun and kept the classes attention. All you have to do is go to class and study and it is an easy A, especially with the curve!!
He was a horriable teacher...even if i would of made a A in that class i still would of classified him as horrible. He was ****, crude and just gross! He talked about everything else except econ. Dont take HIM.
Although he sometimes strfays from the subject, he makes this class a lot more more than I anticipated. I took the telecourse and really learned a lot more than I expected to. Just pay attention and take notes and you'll do good.
tests are sooooooooooooooooo hard, do not take as a telecourse
This guy was a jerk! If you like yourself, DO NOT TAKE AS A TELECOURSE. You will never want to watch the boring lectures. ALSO, NEVER E-MAIL him with a question. Flipped out on me when I asked him what was going to be on the tests. Takes him 3 weeks to post grades for his extremely hard tests!
very funny teache. strays off topic but keeps it fun. tests are hard but he gives a study guide before every test. just study that and go to class and your gold
I took the class as a junior in high school and it wasn't that bad. Wyrick was an awsome teacher and kept the class interesting. Tests were a little difficult but not if you studied the material. Gets off topic sometimes but keeps the class amusing. Good teacher.
He is full of himself! Got off topic a lot with amusing anecdotes. Sometimes came off as offensive. Funny guy..or pathetic im not sure, lightened the Econ mood! Study a lot for the tests and there is a quiz every MON. not real hard, can study before class and pass. Not a horrible teacher!
I hated this class with a passion. Wyrick is a horrible teacher and I would NEVER take another one of his classes even if someone paid me to. His tests are ridiculous and he expects way to much of students. It is in my honest opinion that he should never be allowed to teach again.
This class was alot harder than I expected, but I was really glad that I took it. He made economics almost fun.

Good teacher. Pretty full of himself, but gives really easy quizzes on Mondays. Also you only need an 87% to get an A in his class so thats not to bad. I am taking him again next semester. The only thing is, if you want to talk to him after class he can be a total jerk.
He's hilarious. Sometimes he'll get off track from the lecture, but if you just read the book you'll understand everything, and just take his weekly quizzes and you'll get a good grade.
funny nerd with a cool corvette.
This guy is awesome. He is the funniest professor I have ever had. I dont really like economics but his humor made it fun to go. He explains everything very well and makes the subject understandable. Tests are kinda tough though so make sure and study for them
This guy is a joke. After wasting half the class period making weird noises into his microphone, he proceeds to ramble and draw the most confusing notes ever, then say, "it's easy right?!" I can't believe that I paid MONEY to listen to him be an idiot every single day. I would never take a class from Wyrick again.
I disagree with the person below me. He does joke around a lot but he tries to make a boring topic enjoyable. Though he does get off task, all his examples are very relavent. He give study guides, but tests are hard. He usually curves them. There's an easy quiz every Monday, whcih is a great way to boost your grade. I'd take him again.
This man is funny as hell. Tests are kind of tough, but he gives you a study guide for every one so its pretty much your own fault if you dont study. Oh, and did I mention- THIS MAN IS FUNNY AS HELL. If you have a sense of humor and are looking for an ECO class that SIGN UP FOR HIS CLASS NOW
He is a great professor. Got the Pd.D too. REALLY FUNNY!! makes everything easy to understand. gives quizzes every monday and curves every test. we also negotiate the curve and usually get an extra 2-3% that way. if you have to take ECON. TAKE HIM FOR SURE
Really Really quite funny, looks like Woody Allen. Always wears a polo shirt and slacks. Class is fun, fairly basic. Quizes on Monday are easy. Tests are fairly easy if you study. Easy to get a B but you must understand Economics to get an A.
Take his class. Easy A.

Funny, relatively easy class (if you take the time to show up -- it's very easy to miss material if you don't.)
Yeah he is funny, but his tests are hard, esp whne you do not get economics. Study vocab and don't blow off weekly quizzes becase they can hurt you. i wouldn't skip class unless you can get the notes for sure.
A tid bit crazy, as well as frustrating and ****ed. Never a dull moment but somehow couldn't interest me in economics.
First off, he's realllllly cocky and tries to show off lol. But he's funny and he makes class fun and not so painful. He explains things thoroughly. Just show up to class, take notes, and study for the Monday quizzes that he gives pretty much every Monday. The tests aren't bad as long as you read carefully and keep up with material.
Easy A my butt! He jokes around like economics is an easy subject, and pretends like it comes in a snap. If you don't understand Eco, he doesnt really help. He is funny and all, but I can't believe I actually PAID for him to be a goofball all hour.
Greatest class i've taken here by far!! funniest professor! always talks about getting stonend and wasted off martinis. i took econ in highschool so i knew it all but even if i didnt take it before, it was all common sense. more QD when price is low vice versa. Thats all you need to know. I took 2 pages of notes all semester and ACED the class.
Dr. Wyrick is absolutely hilarious. Its true he jokes a lot and doesn't cover much of the subject, but he only tests over what he talked about in class, which isn't very much sometimes. I love his class.
I don't know why his rating is so low. I absolutely love him. He gives easy quizes every monday that help out your grade and they have lots of easy extra credit questions like "who do i dance like" (Napoleon Dynomite) He does get off the subject a lot telling funny stories but since tests are only over what he covers, that is good thing. He is great
I absolutely love this teacher!! He is awesome. His class is a challenge but he makes up for it with his humor. Also, he is a very sexy man ;-)
Very hard tests if you do not read the book, make sure you go to class every Monday because those weekly quizzes will help you out. Not an easy class.
Dr. Wyrick really keeps your attention. You do have to read the book though because there will be questions on the tests just from the book. Take good notes and read the book. But overall I really enjoyed the class and his teaching.
Great teacher. Extremely funny. Easiest class I have this semester. It's mostly common sense. I show up to class just for the entertainment... and because it's helpful to show up to class. Monday quizzes are easy if you look over your previous week's notes for a couple minutes. Tests also easy if studying the notes.
Dr. Wyrick is one of the funniest teachers i've had! he is always telling some story that breaks up the lectures (which would be pretty boring otherwise) this subject could be very confusing but he does a really good job of explaining everything. Only grades come from tests & quizes but they aren't that bad & you have a study guide for the test
hilarious teacher but tests can be hard. class is actually fun sometimes
He was very funny however not very good at teaching the material. Its like you are relearning the same thing every week. You have to read in order to somewhat know what is going on. I would try to take someone else.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. On the 1st test the average was about a 60%. You have to fill out templates about societies and it takes a year just to find the information. The info in the lectures is unorganized and If you ask him for help he won't give you any and his replies to your pleas for help are rude.
Redundant. Often gets off track for extended periods of time. I found that the telecourse of him gives much more information than actually going to class. Gives quizzes every week (to "help" your grade) and curves most tests. Grade scale is 3% lower than normal (77 is a B). Read your book, take the quizzes, ask for help!
Funny teacher. Tests are a little difficult. Quizes nearly every Monday.
He gets off topic a LOT and is completely random but it helps make class less painful. Wyrick is pretty good about curving tests (because they are kind of hard). I got a B overall which sucks but it is not a topic I enjoy. I imagine if you like economics, you'll do well in his class.

great class, have to study a little bit but overall is easy imo
This class was great! It is hard to keep a lecture hall of 100+ students awake but he does it! Show up for the quizzes, they are every Monday. You'll get an A if you do the readings, attend a majority of the classes, and study before the tests.
I took macro as a telecourse and it was extremely easy. Make sure you watch the lectures and study the notes on the cds, otherwise there's no way you'll do good. The book is pointless, don't bother buying it if you take it telecourse. Even on video he's funny and obviously knows his stuff.
He's a fairly good teacher and knows his stuff. He gets off topic often but this makes class go by easier. Just make sure you go to class most of the time, show up on Mondays because there are quizzes on them, and study for the tests.
Hilarious teacher, makes learning fun. He tries hard, and will use every minute you give him. Weekly quizzes every monday, tests are impossible without reading the book. Will get off track and tell funny stories that do not relate, but can make the class go by faster
Professor is interesting and knows his material well. He also makes material very clear and understandable. The tests and quizes are basically based of his notes so reading the textbook really isn't necessary. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
This guy is the worst teacher ever. He spend 30 min of each class talking about his ****en adventures. Quizzes every monday. test are wored much different than quizzes so dont be fooled. Class is hard because he does not teach much. he could recite the material in his sleep. he knows his stuff just not very good at explaining
Very entertaining, but not a good teacher. He tries but he gets caught up with his jokes and doesn't end up teaching very much. Very bad at assuming that everyone knows everything already.
Not a good teacher, if the course was about his life every one would pass with flying colors. He gives you very messy unorganized notes and just jumps around too much, i would very much not recomment him.
this guy spends half of the time talking about his adventures and its hard to keep up when he goes back to teaching. he gives study guides but the tests are still hard.
Wow this guy is a piece of work! You basically draw the same 3 graphs the whole semester. His notes are all over the place and his tests are really hard!! DONT TAKE HIM if you want to do well. Yeah he can be funny at times but being funny doesn't help me learn the material.
Its Wyrick at his best. Coming to class hung over, tripping on microphones, falling through dry wall, etc. He is a hoot. Everyone says his tests are hard, but I really never thought they were that bad.
Easily the most entertaining teacher on campus. There was no attendence policy but you will find that you want to come just to listen to his antics! Difficult subject, but he does have a 3% curve and is willing to curve test scores.
Great sense of humor
I took his tele-course. No chance for extra credit. He was late for every class. Tests were difficult. I emailed questions to him and he thought my questions were stupid. He obviously doesn't want to teach this class this summer.
Overall funny, doesn't know crap about true economic fundamentals. Swore up and down two years ago that we weren't even going to get close to a recession. I rebutted him on it every chance I got. Believes Benny Boy to be the king of everything. His antics are somewhat funny, but they do get old. I got an A in the class, but alot of people fail
Grade based on tests only. There is no extra credit, no credit available other than test scores. This was taken over the summer so he may be different during a Spring or Fall semester.
I took the tele-course and found it pretty easy. His lectures are boring and he gets off subject a lot, but he curves the tests huge, like 8-14 percent. If you can stay awake during the lectures it's an easy A.
Loved him, hated economics.
He is an AWFUL teacher. Do not waste your time. His class is tough and his lectures are a waste of time. One of the worst teachers I've had during my MSU experience.
The class was easy over all as long as you pay attention and read the book...I got A's on all my tests but for the final he said I recieved a 20% which gave me a D for the class. When I emailed him to see my final he was very unhelpful and said their was nothing wrong...AVOID THIS TEACHER!!!
He goes off topic a lot and makes jokes but he does get the material to you in an easy way to understand. I didn't read the textbook at all and did fairly well because he covers everything. Watch out for tests though, he makes good incorrect answers. You have to know what you're doing.
This man is an absolute embarassment to Missouri State. I would be ashamed if he was on my staff. He is unavailable and doesn't care about his students in the least bit. I did well but no thanks to him. He is just a jerk! This is obviously the case of a guy who wanted to work in the field but just couldn't cut it... Dont take him!!!
Good prof, loved the fun in the class! Great time! I would definitely do it over!
Great teacher! I don't think anyone could have taught me economics but Mr. Wyrick!!!
Great professor. Hilarious. class went by really fast but he was able to teach alot while keeping it interesting. Take his class!! If you take notes the quizzes are easy. I never opened the book and walked away with a B+. I'm sure if i had peeked into the book before the final I would have aced the class.
Tricks you like crazy. He admitted that he spends hours of his spare time thinking about wrong answers that sound right! Overall not horrible, but take ALOT of effort to do well in.
When you first meet him you'll find he's a little crazy, but once you get used to him you will find he is hilarious. Very entertaining everything is over his notes. Tests are hard but you learn a lot and you have weekly quizzes that are not too hard.
very funny guy but easy to not take this class serious..then the test comes and your screwed
Awesome Econ teacher! Of course his class is going to be slightly difficult becuase A. You are in college and B. Its economics. But if you actually go to class everyday and set aside 20 minutes to study before every quiz and a few hours before every test you should get atleast a high B in the class. I would suggest him to everyone I know!
Tricky questions are tricky. Even if you know the material some questions may take you aback. Uses plus/minus grading on the scale that 91+ is an A. I studied about 10mins before class for every quiz and test. Final is comprehensive, so I studied 2hrs. Not too hard to get an A if you understand economics.
His class was easy, just lecture. Tests are a mixture between the material in class and the material in the book. I would recommend the study guide to go with the book. He spends more time cracking jokes than actually teaching and favors the word bast**d quite a bit.
funny guy, can get annoying but keeps you awake during class with jokes nonstop. screws around a lot and doesnt always cover all the material. quizzes every week from class notes. test questions are hard and tricky. overall a good class and average teacher. easy A or B if you understand simple economics.
Good teacher, he keeps the class interesting with jokes and it makes the class fun. I would take another class from him if I needed to.
It's not uncommon for this guy to burn 30 minutes of classtime between showing up 5-8 minutes late, performing some lame stand-up comedy before lecturing, and then telling stories nobody cares about regarding his life. His tests are brain surgery. No one in my immediate vicinity has ever scored higher than a 70 so far. Avoid this guy.
Horrible teacher! Stay away from him. He literally shows up for class ten minutes late, gives weekly quizzes, and his grades are based only on tests. He is a great guys but a terrible teacher. He is so laid back so you think it is a joke class but the tests are close to impossible. I dont know one person who has gotten higher than a C with him.
Hard as heck
Nice guy. I took the iClass via iTunes at Missouri State. He seems to be funny, quirky and engaged. The iClass sessions seem to be just a bit dated, but good nonetheless. Entertaining, knowledgeable and personable. Tests weren't that bad. I certainly recommend the class to any interested. The guy reminds me a lot of Woody Allen and Larry David.A+!
Tests are hard, with information from lectures and text and application of concepts. You have to really understand material to be able to get an A. That said, anyone can pass this class if they try.
I Would highly recommend this class to all that are interested in the subject. Tests are not extreme, but you will have to watch the lectures, read the book, and study to get a decent grade. He seems like a pretty genuinely nice guy and appears willing to help if needed. Overall all I have nothing bad to say about him or the class.
Took the iCourse, which is great if you're responsible and will watch the lectures. If you take good notes and study them to an extent before the exams you will do well. Requires a lot of conceptual understanding in his exams. I think I ended up with 106% because he curved the tests so much. Take him!
I signed up for this class not realizing it was an online course. Needed the credit hours so I stayed in it. The tests had questions from both the lectures and the readings. I took this course in a 8 week time span so it was a lot harder to keep up. He does grade the class on a curve (87 and above A; 77-87 is a B; etc)
This man is rude and absolutely does not care about his student's success. I can honestly say that if you can avoid him as an instructor you should.
He tells long stories, examples, and side notes that cloud what he is trying to say. He never actually says outright what he is trying to tell you. I took the half block online class and there were FIVE tests. If youre ready for a test every week for three weeks ending in finals week, go ahead and sign up. Don't bother emailing.
Wyrick is a funny and pretty clear speaker in his lectures, however, he makes sure you don't understand what you need to know for the tests. There are no study guides, and if you ask him to give you direction, he won't. Took an average of 4 days to email me back when I had questions or needed help which was frustrating. Learning is all up to you.
I took his 2nd block ECO 155 course and it was absolutely awful. We only met for tests that was on Mondays 7-8:30pm. His lectures were online and we had to watch a full semester's worth of material in 8 weeks. His lectures are out of date as well. The only good thing about his grading is that he curves the test by 10% then raises it by 7%.
Make sure you watch the videos. Lectures were funny & easy to watch, just long. Tests seemed a lot harder than examples in class but tests were curved then overall grade was curved in the end. Only got low 80s on exams but still in top five grades of class, seriously, no As on exams in entire class! But in the end, I still got A after curve.
Great and funny lectures, definately entertaining. What you need to know: his tests will have a good 20% material that is NEVER in the text or his lectures. This is to urge you to really think for yourself and figure it out based on what you did learn. Very outside-the-box teaching style.
All video lectures that are literally 20 years old. I can't believe he gets away with teaching this way. I dropped the class because it was outdated and irrelevant information.
Thanks
a good guy
I just loved the way he teaches.
Love the way he teaches and keep things entertaining.
