Enjoyable class, interesting and useful

I enjoyed this class because I learned about other cultures. I did not enjoy the group work.

This instructor is pretty cool and lay back, he means what he says read the material and come to class if you want to pass the class. I enjoyed his class it was fun and challenging at te same time. great job Mr. Ramos

Mr. Ramos is a true college professor...If you are serious about school and want to succeed, take him! Not only does he offer plenty of help outside of the classroom, he truly cares about his students! The only reason people write bad reviews is because they arent on that maturity level to take his class yet. I definitely reccomend him to EVERYONE!

Mr. Ramos is one of the BEST professors I've ever had and easily the most DEDICATED teacher I have ever had. If you want to learn and get WAY ahead in school, don't miss his class. I recomend him to all my friends, and have taken almost all the classes he teaches. TAKE HIS CLASS, WORK HARD AND YOU'LL LOVE IT!

Ramos is a GREAT guy! People need to lay off with the ridiculous comments. I've had Ramos for 2 different courses and enjoyed each tremendously. The guy is both humorous and extremely helpful. I mean, HELLO -- he allows you to chat with him on Yahoo Messenger! He WANTS to help you. If this werent my last quarter, I'd take his cultural class.

Oh man. If you work hard in his class, he will love you. I loved his class alot. I loved also him talking about Texas. What a hell, why cant he talk about Texas? Texas is his hometown,so we should respect him and listen to whatever he will say. It is speech class right? He talks about Texas because he want you guys learn to talk!.

HOW CAN ANYONE TALK BAD ABOUT RAMOS! This class was great. Its alot of writing but if you listen and study the material you will do fine. Yea he talks alot about Texas, but alot of times it is a comparison on a subject he is talking about. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you are not a slacker!

Great teacher. Class is a little hard. But if you read your book and take notes and study. (like you're supposed to) you'll get a good grade. Class is fun.

Professor Ramos is someone who cares about what he does. For example, we were doing a group project and he actually met with us outside of class time, brought his laptop, and helped us out. If you make the effort to get to know him, and an effort towards the class in general, it will pay off, trust me.

I you like learning from someone who absolutely knows what he's talking about, this is a good class; he doesn't put you through anything he hasn't done himself. I highly respect him, and he REALLY wants you to do well. Gain confidence and learn speech skills you'll use forever.

Dr. Ramos is an excellent teacher and puts a lot of effort into his classes to make them interesting to attend. He will help you anyway he ethically can. He is a stickler about being on time. He locks the door when it's time to start class so be on time and participate. Weird that he has gotten any bad ratings.

I thought Mr Ramos was a great teacher. The class went by so fast. Not much work other than speeches and he teaches you how to do that. I enjoyed his personality and demeanor. I would LOVE to take more classes with him. If anyone didn't like him it was because they didn't do the work and still expected a great grade. Plus... I love his accent!

Very approachable.Follow the guidelines for projects and you will do well. Keep up on the readings and take good notes. Nice study guides for midterm and final.

Don't listen to the negative reviews about this guy. He's really a good teacher. His class is easy, but you learn a lot. Just put good effort into the work and he'll appreciate it. You NEED to take good notes from his lectures because that's what he goes over on quizzes. He also gives you a great study guide for both the midterm and final.

Mr. Ramos is awesome. The only reason someone would receive a a lower grade is if they did not follow instructions and did not show up to class on time or at all go figure. He does not have favorites but grades you on your skills effort and positive attitude. To all the naysayers quit complaining.

I appreciate the effort and support Dr. Ramos puts into his classes and students. I have heard a lot of students complain about his attitude but I feel those are the students who felt they weren't good students. Dr. Ramos I love your humor and our point of view. You inspire me to be a better student, thank you.

If you do the work and take good notes you'll do great! If you don't come to class you miss out. He tests pretty much off his notes and if he uses the book info in a test he will tell you what pages to know. Thank you DR. RAMOS I had a blast in our 220 class!

He is one of the best college instructors I've had at TCC. He is very clear on grading you speeches and exams. Nice and ready to help any time. I will highly recommend him to every student.

Dr. Ramos is an AMAZING TEACHER! He really knows what he is teaching, if you want to pass just write down everything that goes on the board.HE does expect a lot from the students but that's because he actually love his job and cares for his students. His public speaking class in SPANISH was SUPER fun! I would take the class again!!!

I loved Dr. Ramos! He's such a genuine person and really nice. As long as you are respectful and come to class everyday on time you'll do great.He also writes all the notes you need on the board so as long as you study the material and the study guides he provides guaranteed A or B depending on your effort.

Dr. Ramos is a very thourough instructor with the students sucess as his teaching goal. I found that Dr. Ramos is very relatable, and easy to speak to about a struggle that you may have hindering your suceess in his class. If you're looking for more than a grade this isn't your guy.The class isn't to difficult to pass if you put the right amount of effort in. Class was canceled a lot. You are basically given a topic,a time limit and some other details then told to do a speech. Dr. Ramos is a great person but he could give the class a little more attention.

I really liked his class! I love how he took the time to personalize his lectures and give plenty of examples, it helps you remember the content. He's also very funny! I guess if you like things straight to the point then you wouldn't enjoy his class too much but I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Ramos was clear on what he expected of students. He applied examples from his personal life which made the lecture material easier to remember for me personally. I don't recommend his class if you're a "straight to the point" kind of person though because he ties in his lectures with stories. Would definitely take his class again!

Professor Tomas was such an amazing teacher. I had him for CMST 210 online.. but he always seemed so passionate about what he does through his lectures, also his lecture were very interesting. He assigned assignments that isn't dreadful! HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO TAKE HIM! He's not too strict on due dates! Just talk to him if you have an emergency :)

Dr. Ramos is among my favorite professors. He is well spoken and experienced with communication, often telling interesting stories to help you remember key facts. He is also very funny, finding something humorous to start off each class, making the lessons more fun to listen to.

Overall the professor was really awesome. He is one of my favorite at TCC. He is not too difficult and the final and midterm were pretty easy. One thing to look out for is the final debate: you are graded by what your team gets and he chooses your teams. Also, attendance is kind of mandatory and do not be late!!

Organized and updates grades fairly quickly on canvas. Everything he writes on the board will be on a quiz or test. One 4 page paper a group presentation and a final. There's basically no reading. There are 2 tests: a midterm and a final. Which are online and are based off of his "lectures" and "textbook readings" which are VERY short and there are only maybe like 10 of them for the whole quarter. His tests are worded weird, but I got 85% on the midterm and he bumped it to 100% on a curve.

Dr. Ramos is a fantastic professor who is very passionate about his job and it shows. He made the class so fun to go to and it was definitely a great first class to start my day. As long as you showed up to participate and studied his notes, it should not be hard to get an A in his class. I look forward to take him again in the near future.

I would recommend to anyone, this is a professor who cares, wants you to succeed, and has clear expectations. His class is definitely manageable so it is easy for students to slack off but it is important to attend class and be on top of your work. You learn a lot and you retain it! I had his class 5 days a week, could have been 3 days though.

Dr. Ramos is an amazing professor. His lectures are very personal and easy to follow. He is experienced and knows what he's talking about. The class is easy as long as you actually show up. Quizzes are in class but all exams are online (including the final).

Very few assignments; two papers on 48 Laws of Power which were super easy. Last-minute completion for me and still got 45/50. Midterm was easy as well, I didn't read ANY of our actual course material until I opened the timed test so I just opened another tab with the material and aced it. Super easy class, not time-consuming besides 2 essays.

Dr. Ramos is fantastic! He's a really dedicated teacher and is very fair. He will give you the grade that you deserve. Pay careful attention to his feedback. He gives very clear guidelines. As long as you listen to him, you will improve.

He's a very nice professor. I think if people even try can get a good grade and learn a lot of things from that class. I think he's pretty funny and good lectures which were pretty interesting stories. As long as you show up prepare and try your best to speak, you will probably get a good grade.

He is just great! Well educated and tries to pass that on. He grades tough but fair and as long as you are trying he will help you make it work. But he doesnt except late work so just get it done. Not an easy A but it was enjoyable, also if you dont like finding random strangers take it in person.

English is not his first language so it can be a little challenging trying to understand what some of the directions are but if you email him he gets back to you right away and will clarify

Professor Ramos gives clear grading criteria on how you can improve on your speeches and what is expected of each speech to succeed. Don't be afraid to reach out if you have any questions about anything. He is understanding and is very nice.

Dr. Ramos is one of the best teacher I had at TCC. He is very easy to reach out. There are 2 test but more like quiz in total, they are based on a reading he gave out and the modules of the presentations. About 5-6 presentations in total, very easy and straightforward. Overall I would take him again.

Best professor I have ever had! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! He truly cares about his students, genuinely wants you to learn, extremely helpful, no busy work, you can choose what book you want to purchase to read, with great and highly informative book options! Only SLIGHT downside is that you are only graded on a few things, so if you're busy, PAY ATTENTION.

Dr. Ramos is very nice, however for being a communication professor his communication is lackluster. The class is extremely easy and just busy work. I honestly don't think I learned much from this class but it was an easy A overall.

Dr. Ramos is alright. For a communications teacher who's kind of strict on grammar, there are quite a few grammatical errors in the notes he provides. This class is an easy A though. Not too much work. He provides one EC opportunity but you shouldn't really need it. Try to start your 2 (easy) book reports a little early so you're not stressed.

A very nice professor, gives thoughtful feedback, also not a tough grader. Quizzes were all super easy since everything was in the notes he provided, although exam questions were confusing sometimes. Only had 10 assignments (midterm and final included + 2 book reports). Don't leave book reports for the last day and it will be a super chill class.

Professor Ramos is a great teacher. We had one easy assignment each week and two major projects—just stay on top of them. He offers extra credit to boost your lowest grade and lets class out 5-7 minutes early for questions. If you maintain a 93% or higher and only miss 4 or fewer classes, you're excused from the final.

Great class, light on work. would 100% take again

I would take this class a million times over again. Very easy and little to no assignments. I learned a lot about communication and how to apply it to real life. He usually just talks about himself in lectures but it is entertaining and if you have less than 3 absences with a 93 and above you don't need to take the final.

He's the best one I had

Loved his lectures learned so much and didn't feel like he was making me learn for no reason he made it fun and so that you can use it in the future as well. Super respectful and nice.
