Straightforward with what he wants from you. Took 108 online. Weekly essay from his Blackboard lectures. Grading gets a little tougher toward the end. Likes participation. One mid-term, the final exam is a 5-7 page paper. I love history and enjoyed this class. I would recommend him. It is college people, you get out of it what you put in.

This teacher is terrible. He doesn't post assignments for the entire week like he says he will, and he takes off points if you turn in assignments Saturday even though he specifically states that they aren't due until Sunday. Even though the class is easy, he is an unfair grader, do not take this class.

I took his online class, he can be rude if you don't know how to write at college level other than that he's easy. He expects 5 paragraph essay every week. You basically just answer his questions in paragraph form. you only use the book once(Midterm)You'll get a passing grade. At the end of the semester u have to write a paper.so not too much work

Dr Stanek is a fun, upbeat professor. I was honestly dreading taking this class because history has NEVER been my favorite subject, but he made it very interesting. The texts he makes you read aren't the standard textbook type & the content often challenges what you've learned about history in the past. 5 week course, lots of reading but doable.

Strict grader, but you learn from your mistakes. Dr. Stanek shapes you into a better writer. One discussion post per week, one essay per week. Not a bad workload, but there is lots of reading. The reading is already provided on canvas. A wonderful way to learn more about U.S History. I throughly enjoyed this class.

Dr. Stanek holds you to college level standards. His assigned readings are so interesting and help you learn so much more about American history because they are from an outsiders point of view. I never liked history but this class was enjoyable and really made me more aware of our past as Americans.

So don't think you can skip by, because you can't and you really don't want to. His approach and the content he teaches spikes your curiosity. I feel his expectations are at minimum, college level. His weekly essays can be a task, and his quizzes demand that you do the assigned readings.

I thought hell be more lenient since it was an online class. Tons of readings, & just by reading doesnt mean youll be able to understand everything. Any wrong grammar,he marks down. Considering his slides are not even organized as well. No makeup or credits. Depends mostly at turnitin not considering some of your personal sentences/ideas.

Professor Stanek's class was very challenging, but also enjoyable. The workload feels heavy because he gives you additional readings along with your textbook. MLA/APA and grammar are very important along with outside research. Quizzes I found to be the most difficult as questions are very specific. I enjoyed his perspective and discussion questions

Discussions are assigned and due every week. Theyre a minimum of 3-5 paragraphs. I believe theres three Papers 5-7 pages that will have to be due on Saturdays. Be prepared for lots of reading !!! Professor Stanek can be an easy A just be on task and turn in assignments on time! I passed with a C, turn everything in on time!

Great class. He really is a great professor. Its a history class so inevitably there is a lot of reading. If you read the material the better chance you have of getting a good grade and the easier itll be. Not a lot of work but a good amount of writing. Hell reach out to you a lot. Quizzes are easy.

So the Professor is extremely hard to please. He is not clear on what he wants from you and when you ask he seems to get annoyed. I've taken a quite a few classes and this was my hardest. The only good thing about his class is that it is online and at the end he curves grades. I'm a 4.0 student and this was the only way I was able to keep my GPA.

ngl thought taking history online would be easy but he makes you work for it. Discussion due every Thurs, essay due on Sat (which I find odd and inconvenient) I'm good with papers but so much reading. grades strict too. Got a D on my first paper even though I read fully and used to be an English tutor. I guess if you have the time to read that much

He is super picky about MLA format. The way he grades paper is harder than an English teacher. It is an automatic 15 points off if you have any MLA/ grammar mistakes. It should not be graded that hard. It felt like I was taking an English class but worse.

Worst professor to take for History 107. He is soooooo boring. He does not really care for his students and the things they are going through. His quizzes does not match nothing he has you reading for the week. Does not really interact with his class but only when he is grading and criticize you. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!

History is not an easy subject. Professor Stanek made it very easy by providing the reading materials, and he is easy to access if you need help with something. You need to work for your grade, and if you think by slacking off and not reading, you'll pass, you got another thing coming. P.S. MLA is essential. So yeah... You've been warned.

His class is quite easy and clear. A reading passage every week from 13 to sometimes 30 pgs. long. Then you must write a 3 paragraph discussion on it. Along with A quiz on the discussion with his own questions he made . Then 3 essays and finally a research paper. The only difficult part was the literature used made the reading boring for me.

Overall what I enjoyed about this class is that I knew exactly what to expect. Reading assignment with a quiz every week. 3 papers and a final research project. He is a bit of a tough grader. Did not offer any extra credit. I would have expected more from a professor who got a degree at "Harvard"

3 papers + 1 final paper, weekly discussions and a quiz weekly. Discussions are not always on the reading you will need to do outside research, the tests are the same. The 3 papers are worth A LOT of your grade, DO NOT miss them. He grades more on MLA format than content, for a history class it is excessive, 15% of grade is MLA format.

I really liked his class. It wasn't easy (lots of writing) but all assignments & grading were incredibly clear. The class was low maintenance & I could work at my own pace. Almost all information necessary for each week's quiz & discussion came from the sources he provided, and the textbook only served as a supplemental resource for larger papers.

If you're looking for a consistent, yet challenging way of studying, take his class. Otherwise, if you're looking for light work, I suggest you don't. The schedule is simple, partake in a discussion and a quiz every week. The problem is that the required length for a discussion post is equivalent to an essay. His work is very time-consuming.

It's a lot of reading and a lot you have to remember. His test is where you could get your grade down a lot, if you get a lower grade score it could mess your grade up a lot. He also doesn't give feedback on his assignments, so if you grade low on a discussion you won't know why and you'll probably keep getting around the same score, no rubric also

He makes the deadline before the deadline, his grading policy(if you turn it in the day of it's late) so basically if it's due Sunday that's a lie it's due Saturday he makes you find out the hard way, nitpicks every little thing, you forget to put a comma in your 5-7 page essay -5 points Don't recommend
