Please take this professor over the minimester!You should expect to work 6 hours a day if you opt to take a 4 hour math course over a break!He places emphasis on learning the subject and less on grades–so you spend 6 hours a day learning the subject and the tests are easy.Even if you fail to take meaning out of the class you can leave with an A.

Take it from me. I am a graduate student who has taken 29 hours of math from 3 different colleges. Tommy was hands down the easiest. My tests where via the internet so there was no showing your work credit/partial credit. But he gave a very big curve for each test. He also replaces your lowest test grade with the final, which was good for me.

I have been with Prof. Thompson for three semesters: 0091, 0093, and Math 1414 College Algebra, and my experience was most rewarding. Dr. Thompson expects nothing but the best and he will bring to light your capabilities and nurture your skills. He requires only that you show up on time, text book at the ready, and prepared to conduct business.

I took this online this summer and for the most part I really enjoyed it. I have heard terrible things about statistics classes. This one much be the exception. I loved the software he used. I wouldn't reccommend if you have a hard time figuring things out on your own. My one complaint is that he sent a TON of useless e-mails & was bad at replying.

I first went into his may mester course a little intimidated. Math is not my strong point and I was just hoping to pass with a B. This professor works with the students and grades on a big curve. In the end I made a A and also came away learning more than I thought possible.

entire class is online and he has all test dates prior to the class. He lets us take 2 attempts exams. exams are challenging but he is very fair. He will not reset exams but allows the final exam to replace the lowest exam in case of internet problems. I like it because everything is laid out,he sends too many emails which gets on your nerves.

This guy is very straight forward. He provides a calendar with all assignments and a syllabus. I am taking stats this semester and I like it because he rounds exam grades, his exams are like the homework. He will not allow you to work self paced but you know when everything is due on day 1 so thats been cool.

i agree about the unbending on test dates but he gives 2 attempts on exams and you know when exams are on day 1 so he doesnt screw you around. His exams are easy but you ave to know the material. I know I made an A!

Exam dates are not flexible, so make sure you are free those days before signing up. Mass emails are not only irritating, but confusing as he often sends them to the wrong class. Course was easier than I expected, HW counts for 20% and you get unlimited attempts. Good course overall, pay attention to the reviews! They are the exact exam ?s.

blow off class, he is anal , the good thing is he gives you a calendar on day 1 which helps. I am taking him in the fall for calc 2. He also ill let yo start homework WAY early.

I finished calculus 1 this summer. I am graduating from TWU and this class online was awesome compared to the classes at TWU. He is more than fair although do not even ask to retake an exam. He is ok.

I was a PTK student and took him for 2414, 2513, 2442 online and got all A's. They key is to follow his calendar he gives you. He may come off sounding mean but he is a puppy. And I also agree never miss or ask for extra time on exams..He has his ways but is more than fair.

I can say this: Mr. Thompson is organized to the point of driving me insane. Fair, permits earned credit.

Thompson is a GREAT instructor! He does very well communicating with students. I took his Cal I course online for the summer and passed with a B... if I would've studied I would've made an A. And now I am taking his course online for Cal II because I like the way this professor is organized and makes sure that if you email him, he will reply ASAP:)

His calc 2 course was very organized which helps me. the book is $$. I would say thumbs up, especially if you have a hard time in math. I was hoping he taught calc 3 but not.

You can expect a load of material but he doesn't test you on it. Exams very good, homework is good and easy quizzes. It was the first on-line course I took and it required me to pace yourself. I am taking his calc 1 course in the summer. He does send a lot of e-mails.

Im currently in his bus calc and statistics class. Second time Ive taken statistics and I would recommend him. He give you everything on day one. You just have to be organized, I would say he does go crazy sending emails but exams are easy.

taking mr thompson now summer online. the course is short so its a lot a work. he is very forward about what he expects, i dont have to drive to test which is plus. i suggest starting early, he allowed me too. exams are short, multple choice. i give a grade of A-

I just finished his online Statistic Class for Summer 2 and made an A! He allows you to take the 4 quizzes and 4 exams two times and then the final exam can only be taken once. You will receive the best grade of the two times. The homework load was fair and he gives you a lot of resources to utilize, if you need extra help. GREAT teacher!

Dr. Thompson is an awesome professor. He communicates with you and gives you more than enough resources to do well in this course. Contrary to what people say, this course is not very easy if you have difficulty in math but doable if you put in the work.

If you are okay with taking online courses...he's for you! Everything is done online no testing center. The work is very easy as long as you spend the time doing it. Designed for you to pass! Emails back on time, offers extra credit, and the exam/quiz are easy as long as you pay close attention to hmwk problems. MUST TAKE!!!

Took online for Dmat 0091. Great professor. He used MyMathLab so everything including all exams are done online. He answers emails very quickly. Even though I got the syllabus mixed up and missed 1 exam I still achieved a B in this class:) you must take him even though it's online he still cares about you passing and making sure you understand the work...

He's got his rules but he doesnt jerk you around like mr. mcdowell. Mcdowdell thinks hes a god. Dr. T is more flexible. got an A

Don't bother buying the book; just get the MyMathLab (it's mandatory).

main thing is start early, good text, the course is mapped out. You have to be motivated butmore than fair. And DO NOT buy the book.

I love Dr.Thompson. He's a great professor and he's very caring. I took his class during the summer (the only time he teaches this specific class) and most people made A's and B's. If we attend class, we got on average 3 tries on a test (once in class and twice online), and we had homework 4 homework assignments, each 25 questions. Great Class.

Professor Thompson by far is one of the best Professor's that truly cares about his students. So WHAT if he's sarcastic or makes rude remarks, it's part of his personality, although sometimes it appears that he has a DRY sense of humor the bottom line that he wants and expect ALL of his students to succeed, FAILURE is not an option, now what!!!

his class was 30 students , pass 30 students with at least ACE into their portfolios. That is an excellent teaching at DCCCD ON LINE CALCULUS MATHERMATICS.

Simply amazing. Although he may seem intimidating, very helpful in person. The tests were ok to pass , however, everyone gets scaled up quite a bit so you end up with a good grade. No matter which prof you have for CAL II , you will get a similar grade; because of scaling in TOMMY's class and lack of scaling in other classes. Tips: BONUS attention!

Extremely recommended this professor. He is very knowledgeable, and he also cares for students. Even he goes through lessons very fast, you could do a lot of work, and you absolutely learn a lot. This was a great class. This teacher gave partial credit for problems on test and he has a great personality. I would highly recommend this professor to anyone in my opinion. The class I took with this professor was between a lab and a lecture class and you would have to make at least a B or higher to finish all the homework and tests by the way.

The class is completely independent study. You will have due dates and will get email reminders about these. Exams are all online. Professor Thompson will consider all of the work you do over the semester to determine your final grade. Do all assignments, quizzes, and homework to do well. It's all MyMathLab, but Khan Academy videos help. Kind prof.

He keeps it simple and uses my math lab. My math lab gives you several choices on how to figure out the problem to solve.

Alot of work on statlab but you can take it over and over again. Test can be taken twice. Took it in the winter semester and dedicated about 2 hours a day and got a B a couple points shy of an A and I am an idiot in math.

GREAT professor! Don't expect an easy A. You must put effort and time into statslab. He takes the homework into consideration (it's very important). You can use the quizzes as review for the unit exams. If you have a question regarding the homework you can email him he will even call you to tell you how to work the problem.

HW is like 50 questions, 10 quiz question and 15 Exam questions. This is a pretty easy class. Do ur work you will pass the class. HW is very important. He is there to help. I would take him again

For homework you get 99 tries to get it right. He gives about 4 homeoworks and 4 quizzes the tests are really easy as long as you understand it. Im not really strong in math but I passed with an A! I would totally recommend taking him especially if your slow at math MyMathLab really helps and so does he!

Stellar online stats class. Professor Thompson is extremely responsive and clear through the emails he sends daily. If you put effort in and do the assignments (only 4 homeworks, 4 quizzes, and 4 tests), an A is definitely achievable. Would recommend him to anyone!

He's a great math teacher! Always ready to help! He makes sure that the class can pass with at least a B. He will change the date on tests and homework just so every student can pass with a better grade than a C. He's really funny as well!

I have nothing bad to say about Mr. Thompson , I took his Math 2342 Stats class during the summer of June 2015 and it was pretty simple and clear.

I'm currently taking this class during winter online and it's one of the easiest classes I've taken thus far. You will have a guaranteed A for sure - just do the homework, quizzes and exams.

The class is not an easy A a lot of homework 4 test. He is a good professor he extends dates back and you have many chances to improve your grade. The great thing about him you have two chances to take the tests.

The online class wasnt very hard, you just have to keep up with homework and do good on your tests. There are only four tests which are a bit hard if you dont write notes and study. Overall great class and professor!

Professor Thompson gives very clear criteria by which the class follows, which online all work is done on mymathlab. He was very willing to extend deadlines for homework, and gives you multiple attempts to improve the score of your homework grade. You get 2 attempts for each test, and the test scores are 80 percent of your grade-USE YOURE NOTES!

Dr. Thompson is a caring professor. If he sees that you doing your work and tests and are giving it your all it WILL reflect in your grade. Using my mathlab you get 99 times to try home work problems and you DO get 2 Attempts per test. Math is my worst subject but I tried my best and got my first B in Math! Take him you wont be sorry!

Took Stats in Sp 2015 online. HW-get 99 tries on each prob earning full/partial credits,u control ur HW grade. Tests & quizzes are short like 5-10 prob. Test prob are similar/same as prob on quiz&HW. Offers extra credit,2 attempts given per test. Hate math & passed with B w/no extra credit. Stats is a hard subject but he makes the work easy to pass

Great Professor. I would definitely take again. He was so much more helpful than any of the professors I had for math at Texas A&M and as a result I learned so much more. About three letter grades more lol!

I took Calculus 2 and 3 from him online in Spring 2017. I loved it. Not much HW, he curves on his exams. He gives all exams online. I really enjoyed it and not much stress.

Professor Thompson's class was easy to follow, he opened up the class a week early so we could get started and all of the assignments are due at the end of the semester. Test problems are similar to homework with 2 attempts given per test, with all work done on mymathlab. He really didnt communicate much with class, only 2 emails the semester.

Took MATH1342 during Summer I and received an A. Professor Thompson emails frequently and sends reminders. You have two attempts to take the exams and some of the questions are similar to the homework. You have all semester to complete the homework and exams.

Much better than taking Calc 3 at my university. All homework, quizzes, and exams are online which is amazing for someone like me who isn't from Texas. Clear grading criteria. You get unlimited attempts at each homework problem and two attempts per quiz. If you take notes and master the homework you will do well in the course. Highly recommend.

I took Prof. Thompson for Summer II Statistics. I must say although it was a lot of work and challenging (any math course for me is) I am glad I chose Prof. Thompson. The syllabus was clear, deadlines and course calendar was clear. This class required a lot of reading and time for assignments. We utilized Pearson for the course.

Took stats online this summer. Class consisted of HW and 4tests. For the homework you had 3 attempts per question and 2 attempts per test. Overall the class was not that difficult but it did require one to read the textbook to understand the material thoroughly as there were plenty of examples in the textbook.

Took summer 2 Stats course online. It was self-paced. You have to complete all 27 homework assignments and 4 tests by the last day of the semester. There are video lectures and examples for each section. Do the ungraded practice questions. Those are what the tests and hmwk are based on. Great class for busy students. Took about a week to complete.

GUYS! this is calculus II only gods take this class! so yes the content is hard, but the teacher is nice, he will give you unlimited time on each exam. The exams are not long 17 to 25 questions. There are 5 exams in total, 4 quizzes, and 5HW( 30-40 questions each).He gives a final exam review; please practice or the exam will smoke you up. take it!

This class is easy although not super easy. The homework is time consuming but with 3 chances to answer a question you should be ok. You have 2x to take each one of the tests. Take pics of the answers you get on the first try and take it again. I was on test 3 before I figured this out. ;)

Took online course. Did NOT buy the book. You need the access code for hw. Gives all homework upfront. DO IT. Easy but time consuming, do not wait til last min (most answers online) and can use 'show me an example' button. 4 timed test. can not move on to certain section of hw until certain test done first. EASY A.

Thompson is a good professor. I took him Summer 1, had 4 homework assignments, 4 quizzes, 4 exams, & a final. Final is comprehensive. Quizzes had no more than 10 questions. Exams have 20 or less questions. Final has 20 questions. No reason to get less than a B. The quizzes, exams & finals have strict due dates. HW is due at the end of semster.

Took this class online fast track 8 weeks. Class consists of homework and tests everything online. It is not that difficult, but make sure to do everything on time because it is time consuming. As long as you study and do work it should be an easy A. I received a B, but that's because I did not study as much for the tests. I recommend this professo

Watch the videos, do the assignments, take the tests. Easy stuff just time-consuming. He doesn't really send any reminders, just trusts you to complete the work by the deadlines. Easy A.

Coursework & lectures are strictly online and self-paced. Do the work and you'll pass. The Pearson software allows you to retake assignments & tests to get better grades. He works with you if needed. Get it done & you can get an A. I was initially intimidated by "Stats" but I did very well. If I can, then you definitely can.

I told Calc 2 and the professor is very fair. Doing the homework is very important and the professor doesnt like if you slack off on it. 3 tests 3 quizzes a final and a very reasonable amount of homework. Do the homework and you wont have a problem making a good grade on the exams.

Dr. Thompson was very helpful and nice in our correspondence. The tests allowed enough time to double check the work and were fairly easy.

Took this online class and it was great. I took it as a 4 wk course so it was a bit fast paced but very doable. You do have to pay $100 for the online mylab but it is completely worth it. Tests were exremely similar to the hw and quizzes. Best math class I have taken thus far.

I almost didnt apply for my major because I seen statistics was required & I knew there was no way I would pass statistics. . I learned so much & everything including the tests were online. This was my first time getting an A in any type of math class!

I was very hesitant with taking this class online, especially since it was a 3 week course! But, THIS CLASS WAS GREAT! It was ALL on MyMathLab (have to purchase the lab) and it was broken down into sections. Practice assignments are required after each lesson and total of 4 tests! The professor opened course 1 week early, SO START AHEAD! Made an A

If you struggle with math, TAKE THIS CLASS! All assignments are through my math lab (have to purchase, but its worth) and there are only 4 tests! Also, you're able to take each test twice! Highest grade will count. It was very time consuming so start ahead! I took it in 3 weeks and it was ALOT but so worth it!! HINT: exams are SIMILAR to homework!

Was nervous to take during maymester but so glad I did. professor made it easy on us 5 hw assignments 3 quizzes 3 exams and a final exam. Got exempt on the first exam for completing hw early. WILL NOT REPLY TO YOUR EMAILS!! You can't reach him but I honestly did not need to email him for any reasons everything was clearly displayed. Very very easy!

solid choice to take him online. HW is not heavy, 3 quizzes, 3 test, and 1 comprehensive final. its really self tought class book is provided.

Math is not my forte at all, but I worked extremely hard for my B. I would recommend this professor because he is very much fair. He will try to help you and if you don't understand something he will fix the assignment for you. Get 2 chances for all exams. Open book!

I love this guy. he makes up these videos that you watched they explained everything in detail., he used text instead of emails which I liked a lot more because I always got a response faster ,hes rally cool and makes math relatable.

I took 8 weeks for an online course but the lecture was not heavy actually. Keep in mind that this course is self-study, so be ready for looking at some explanations from youtube. He gave extra credit if you finished HW on time or early. No tests or quizzes are proctored. Finally, he's a good professor.

Most of the work was done online and through ALEKS it was basically a self taught course, so if you don't know something ask for help. He responds to emails but doesn't really get back to you. Overall an ok class for algebra.

I was nervous about taking an online calculus class, but Professor Thompson was amazing! The course was pretty much self-taught, which is helpful because you can work at your own pace. He makes the exams open note, which is very helpful because the exams are exactly like the homework. I totally recommend for an easy calc class! It was a breeze!
