This is a great intro course to Signing and Toni moves at an excellent pace for beginners. It is also a lot easier that a lot of spoken languages so a good way to fulfill a foreign language requirement. It's a lot of fun too. I think Toni is great and would recommend her to anyone.

Amazing sign language teacher, those of you on here saying she thinks she's Gods greatest gift must've been in the wrong class. all the people who think Toni thinks she is gods gift to ASL are not a good judge of emotion, character, body language, & reality : ) yes she has children that are autistic and mentions how she needs to attend to them for the class to be informed so she can leave if need be. as on spare time she mentions it depending on the majors of her students. it's very relavent to the class

Very passionate about ASL, deaf, and autism. She is very good in teaching the signs and explaining how they came to be etc. She also teaches you the right way, so that you won't end up signing profanities. It is a pretty easy class as long as you do the homework. Overall, it was a fun class and I would recommend her as an instructor.

Easy grader. Will put in the work for you if she can tell that you are. Seems to have hard time not taking things personally. Be well-behaved on Zoom or she will let everyone know she's annoyed. Really wish she spoke kinder about her children and people with psych disabilities.

Great professor. Cares about her students. People complaining about her marking you down for not being on screen, eating, etc. obviously don't understand the importance of not doing those things. Participate, do the work and practice, follow the rules and it's an easy grade. Deviating makes it harder. Lots of extra credit options. Personable.

The class takes a little to get used to, but when everyone gets comfortable with the other students and Toni, it gets fun.

Great teacher, she's funny and makes the class enjoyable. She is good at explaining things and I was rarely confused on an assignment. When something was unclear, all I had to do was ask and she would explain. 10/10

I would rather actually die than take this class again. The class itself was fine, easy enough and I was doing well, but I am 99% sure that Toni has it out for me. One time she called me out for "not paying attention" while i was ACTIVLY LOOKING AT THE SCREEN. Her attitude towards me got so bad that I have stopped going to class except for quizzes.

Great professor if you like ASL as a language! Attendance is mandatory (if you miss 3 classes, she drops you a half letter grade and assignments in class almost every time). Her tests are easy and she gives like 6-7 pop quizzes a semester. My only issue is she is not flexible with anybody else's schedule and only counts documented excused absences.

Love this class. I've taken Tonis class for 145, 146, 147 and then 148 after the summer. Very nice and funny. Very open, which is helpful for preparing to go out and sign on your own. Would definitely recommend.

This course is excellent. I learned a lot, and the professor is entertaining and fun. There are lots of games and a ton of easy extra credit opportunities. There are pop quizzes, but if you stay up on vocabulary, you are guaranteed an A (in theory). I highly recommend this course!

Toni cares about her students and their success as well as enlightening folks on Deaf culture. Be prepared to participate, keep up with work and attendance or the tests and quizzes will be a tell tale sign you aren't doing the work. She will invest as much as you do. Love her classes!

Taking Toni's classes was so much fun. As long as you follow the rules that are set out, then the class is extremely easy. You are expected to participate which should be a given in any language class. Toni is passionate about the language and Deaf culture. In my opinion it's refreshing to see when compared to other instructors I've had previously.

She's very awesome. She's a very open-minded person and is truly teaching a passion. Her classes felt more like a meet-up rather than a class. If you're looking for a class, where you hardly pay attention, then this is not the class for you. I can guarantee you that if you genuinely want to learn this, you will have a blast.

TONI IS GREAT! She will love you like a mother. Those rated her a 1 are the ones who didnt pay attention in class or gave her a bad attitude. She is lovely and will make things easy for you. She will treat you how you treat her so just be kind! She also finds cheap textbooks for you, so dont worry about price!

I looked through that bad reviews for Toni and I can say with full confidence, they are wrong. Those who rated her badly are ones who were disrespectful in class. In a normal class you would not be eating or on your phone, and it is no different here. Toni is a caring person who wants you to learn ASL, she has no mean bone in her body. I recommend!

I would say for anyone wanting to learn ASL take Toni. She knows her stuff, and she has a great relationship with the Deaf community so you know you are learning the right things. She has aids, so you will have more help and more time outside of class to practice. Pop quizzes are easy, and you should be fine if you are just respectful!

Toni is the end all be all for learning ASL Nevada. She cares deeply about her students and their success in learning ASL. Even if you struggle with learning it, she will always help find ways to improve your grade, learn the material better or offer extra credit. The woman is an angel! I took two semesters with her and she is funny and engaging.
