If you are interested to learn in a fun and creative environment, you should try Mr. Clark's class! Even though not always organized, he will do whatever he can to assist you with the matereal he teaches and loves. Participaion and extra credit are encouraged. Laughs and learning are gueranteed.
he is a great teacher! he keeps the class interesting, and there is never a dull moment. every1 is encouraged to participate during class.. his tests aren't too difficult. Just read the assigned chapters and study before hand and ull do fine. He also gives extra credit which could boost ur grade up! im either going to end up gettin a B or A.
HE IS VERY FUN. HE IS ALSO VERY HELPFUL. HE IS ALWAYS TRYING TO ASSIST YOU. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM. HE IS COOL!
His class is very interesting and helpfull.
He's great.
He's a great teacher!! He makes all his lectures exciting. Very Funny too. Just do all of your assignments and try to show some knowledge of the material in your essays(test). Visit him during office hours so that he'll know you are trying and you should be fine!!
I love this teacher! He's one of those teachers that truly cares for students, not just to do a job. He tries his hardest to make sure everyone learns & doesnt use tricky questions on his tests. He's also hilarious & class is never a bore. I took him during an 8-day session & loved every minute of it. The day would just fly by. Highly recommended!
Great guy, makes class entertaining. If you follow up, easy to get a good grade. I recommend him.
I like him, he's pretty nice. I recommend him.
he is a really great professor. you will not be bored in this class. expect to have a great experiance in his class- besides getting an A without struggling.
He is one of the best sociology teachers in LACC.... his class is easy to pass because he talks about everything that is going to be one the exams.... very exciting class because the teacher is funny and makes learning the material an interesting experience... I would recommend to him...
Very supportive. Enjoys the subject he teaches and teaching in general.Encourages interaction in his class, and gives plenty of material to get involved. Is personally involved in the experience of the class.Don't insult him by taking this class if you have no interest in learning something.
This teacher is cool! He knows how to teach, especially when he has uncontrollable class. Although, he had some many things he regrets in the past, he is still cool! Just do not fall asleep bcuz datz his pet peeve. If you just take good lecture notes, and read the book, then you could possibly pass the class with a solid "B."
he is easy, it's true, and he is a great storyteller, but he gets off track too easily, and some may prefer that, he also has easy scantron tests, and the final project is easy. he is open to changing curriculum if a student brings something new to his attention, i will say.
great guy. easy grader, understands his students. hilarious stories! the lectures vary in "entertainment" but read your book and you will get an A for sure.
Great professor! He is so down to earth, organized, clear, and entertaining. Just pay attention, take notes and study for the tests. The class is really interesting and I would love to take another class taught by him no matter what it is.
somewhat easy. 50 multiple choices (1day) 5 essays (1day)8 choices to choose. he will mail u key and essay topics. funny prof.
great teacher! Best attitude and you'll learn alot!
GREAT PROFESSOR, REALLY HELPFUL.
Amazing learning experience! In addition to being up to date with his overall great knowledge of the subject coarse, he is very passionate about teaching his students. Prof. Clark is a true inspriation.
He's really funny everytime he laughs, and he discussed the lessons clearly. He gives a lot of considerations. And he helps the students to understand his lessons. I highly recommend him!
Best Teacher ever. He's so funny. Makes you want to learn more about the course.
He's absolutely the best teacher, and a huge inspiration to all of his students doubting your self through college when you take his class he will be one of the reasons why you are meant to be in school.
I would say of the professors that teach this course. Tonys the man if you are looking to take a teacher who is understanding and helpful then I would take him over the others. He is very helpful in that he wants to see you succeed and make it. But you do have to do the work and well on test.
Funny Prof. I have to say he's not very organized but he is so sweet to his students and he will help you to succeed in his class.
Very helpful and nice guy
Mr. Clark was very kind and very helpful AND very entertaining. if you have a problem, he will listen and try and help you out. he makes the class fun and interesting and I loved having him as a teacher. his exams can be a bit tough if you don't do the reading, but if you read, then you'll be fine. I would take him again in a heartbeat.
The best teacher ever!!!!Very funny and clever guy!!! You'll love Sociology after taking this course!!
i love professor clark! he is hialrious and fun and full of life!!! i wish i could take more of his classes just for the joy it brought to my life..i am NOT kidding. he is great!! thanks prof clark!!! your favorite smc student!
I loved his class. I took the 8 day course, one of the best classes i've taken. He is very funny and class goes by quick. You learn a lot and he's one of those teachers that love what they do. He makes lectures fun, discussions are fun and test are easy if you pay close attention to the lectures and the book! And he plays Hangman!!!!
It's been 3 years since I took his class and nothing has been able to surpass it. He is an excellent teacher and I'll continue to recommend him to people. Everything about his class is straightforward and pretty clear.
Professor Clark is super nice. At the beginning I thougt I was going to hate his class b/c I knew nothing about socio. But then he got me into it and now I'm so glad I'm taking it. His exams aren't hard if you READ the book and comprehend, if not, you'll fail. Do the work and you'll be fine. If you don't, it's your fault, not his.
pretty cool easy going prof.
I see why people like this guy, he does not give any homework and goes of on tangents when he lectures. For people who want to learn I would not suggest his class. Because he goes off on tangents during his lectures, he doesn't have time to lecture about the chapter, then skipping the lectures on certian chapters, but expects you to know them.
Whoever says the tangents that he goes on are bad are idiots because they always help clarify the key points + he has alot more life expierences than other profesors that I have had. He is Great!
Mr. Clark is a fantastic lecturer. He knows his content, has pertinent life experience which serve to illustrate his lessons, and he makes classes fun. All points are crystal clear and he's always willing to give extra help. I would definitely recommend him to others.
AMAZING, easy and you learn a lot
THIS PROFESSOR MAKE HIS POINTS REALLY CLEAR WHEN IT COMES TO TEST DATES. HE ALSO GIVES CHANCES WHEN YOU MISS A HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT. IF YOU DONT PASS THIS CLASS YOUR AN IDIOT!
Very clear on what you need to know for exams. 4 exams and a term paper. Even if the class was hard, which it isn't, his calm demeanor and infectious smile puts you at ease. Really cool guy compared to the other guy down the hall that is always yelling..
Mr. Clark is a really awesome teacher, he's very funny and defintely knows what he's talking about. His stories are very interesting and insparational. He does go on tangents some time, but he asks about it on test. 4 tests, 100 multiple choice, 5 essays per test, LOTS OF WRITING - easy if you read the book. He wears a hat every day. great teacher
Pretty cool guy. You pretty much have to do the reading on your own because he does tend to go off-topic a bit. Very fair grader on the essays.
The class is very entertaining, his stories are always interesting. He's straightforward & gets to the point, although he easily loses his focus. Read the book!
Intertaining professor; his problem is that he goes off the subject, but really good teacher. Study and the tests will be easy. He gives participation points so for shy students I don't recommend him because even if you get A & B's those lack of points will hurt your grade.
Mr. Clark is the best teacher! If your deciding on what teacher to take for Sociology, choose him. His class was never boring and he makes the subject very interesting! I can't wait to take him again for sociology 2...I highly recommend him.
Honestly, all you people who say "he's a great man", its not about if they are great but rather about if he can teach or not. yea hes a great man but your on your own. he always talks about the armenian genocide and how he agrees so none of the armenians will hate on him. hes just a stupid teacher seriously. he has a weird way of greating.
mr clark is an amazing teacher! he has crazy stories. he is funny and prepared with what he wants to teach. You do hav to read on your own because mr clark dusnt cover everything on his lectures. he does let u knw wat is improtant and wat is not. he tends to hav his favorites. u jus gotta attend the class and participate.
all he does is complain about how his daughter got pregnant when she was young. how his second marriage only lasted like 2 monthes. how she got a girl pregnant when he wasnt because in his religion he had to stay a virgin till marriage (honestly, nobody would know if a guy is a virgin or not, that "rule" only applies to girls most of the time) LECT
Mr. Clark is passionate about his subject. He uses a computer presentation to teach and shows a few videos. He is very clear about what will be on the exams, but you do have to show up and participate.
He's a really good teacher! You really learn a lot from his class, which was my favorite for this semester. He's big on participation though- but if you don't speak up in class, you can make it up with extra credit points he gives in exams and in discussions. He also gives you exactly what you need to study for his exams!
A great, clear to understand teacher! Participate in class, pay attention to your notes and read the book! This class is not rocket science. Your very luck if you get him and should not be in college if you can not get an A with him! I wish all teachers at lacc where like him! You can actually learn something!
he's a great guy as a person but not a great teacher. he goes off tangent and barely covers half the material he puts on his tests. you gotta study straight from the book and the notes that he gives in class, which aren't very clear to begin with. his stories are fun, but mostly irrelevant and a waste of time. it got really annoying quickly.
For this class you will have to take 4 tests + write a 5-page paper (no final). This makes up your whole grade. He gives review sheets for each exam. If you study them, you should pass very EASILY. My only problem was this guy LOVES to tell stories. It could get annoying sometimes. Overall, easy class IF you take notes & open yr book before a test.
Easy class if you use his study guide. Not the most exciting teacher but has funny stories that contribute to his lessons. Good teacher and knows sociology well
i did not understand anything from this teacher. i tried really hard but i couldnt get anything. he goes on and on about things that are not important and he really doesnt explain half of what he talks about. im my experience it was self learning.
very interesting class 4 multiple choice test and 5 essay questions per test, and one slo essay.easiest way to pass is study the notes, key terms and read book. very funny teacher but sumtimes goes off topic
I think Professor Clark is an amazing professor he covers the lectures pretty well, and if you don?t understand it he can easily break it down. This was my 2nd time taking him because first time I got a D but that was completely my fault. This time I got a high B. Don?t email him though he takes forever to reply back.
He is a very funny teacher. I had fun taking his class. If you pay attention to his lecture, take notes, and study his study guide... you will glide. I highly recommend him.
He's a great person with lots of fun stories but not a very good teacher. He's always going off tangent and is very disorganized.
Laughs a lot and tries to make class atmosphere comfortable. But, if you want to pass the class, you're on your own. He goes off on TOO many tangents and DEFINITELY has "favorite students" out of the rest of the class. I approached for help more than once, and all times successfully brushed me off. A great teacher? No.
Tony Clark is one of the best teachers i have ever seen. had him for soc 12 for spring 09. he is really fun but he expects the students to really read the textbook. above all, he is good :) highly recommended!!
HIs class was fun. The tests are very easy since he gives the outline of the chapters. I didn't spent much time on his class never opened the book , just studied the key concepts for the tests and got an A. Highly recommendned
Professor Clark is one of the coolest teachers I have had. He is very down to earth and thoroughly explains the coursework. He posts key concepts online which really help for the tests. I highly recommend him.
He is by far the best teacher ! At first I couldn't understand what Sociology was, and wanted to drop the class after the first week. He makes the class very fun, uses stories as examples for the topics. He provides an outline for EVERY test, but you have to do the work-memorize the key concepts. If you don't get a good grade in the class, that jus
The best online class I have taken winter session 2011!!! Discussions every week, exam every week with four essay questions. Answer his questions right on point and you'll be fine. Very interesting class!
I took him online, and he's awesome! Very easy! I took him in the winter which was at a face pace, even then it was easy! If you're no self disciplined, don't take the class online, take it in person BUT take him!
Nicest prof ever! Easy. u get study guide. Gotta study a lot since thats what u do in school! gives participation pts. sure he goes off topic but stories r interesting n funny N r2give an examp!teaches the material well. if failed first exam but rest r really good he would ignore ur F. he would bump u too if ur close to a grade. really nice man!
He is a cool prof. No homework, yet alot of reading and reading! tests are not too hard and not too easy! he gives extra points, but there aint easy.. for me.
professor Clark gets off topic very often. His class is easy to pass but it requires lots of reading on your own. The tests are not difficult but in order to pass them, one needs to read the material--the book.
He is a great teacher. One of my favorites i've had at LACC. He is interesting, funny, and is fair. Just study from the book for midterm as well as final, and you'll be fine. I definitely recommend him:)
Class would be alot smoother if he would grade and sumbit assignments on time. Late grader and posting of assignments is not helpful for an online class. Takes him weeks to grade an assignment. And expects normal deadlines for late posted assignments. Hope this isn't a pattern. Other than that the class is ok.
He's a pretty cool, but not very good at giving student feedback. He's really good for conversation, but teaching is another matter. Meh.
Professor Clark class is very interesting, if you read the book and study his review sheets you should be able to get an A.
Clark might possibly be the nicest guy in the world. Class is pretty easy, do the reading and you will ace the exams. No homework, textbook is easily digestible, exam "key concepts" lay out what you need to study explicitly. There is no reason not to earn a good grade with Clark.
Nicest professor at LACC. Very easy class. No homework just a paper and 3 tests. He does go off topic a lot but his personal stories are very interesting. Very approachable and down to earth. Definitely recommend.
4 tests and 1 paper. No hw and only lectures. You must study on your own, sure he gives you lecture, but the main concepts on the test are in the book and the notes he posts up. Fairly an easy class. Very interesting and gets everyone in the classmates involved through his fascinating teaching. One of my favorite professors in LACC.
Professor Clark is a great professor his class is never dull it is always fun and interesting i really learned a lot from his class 4 test and one term paper determines your grade his test are fairly easy if you study also all his test have extra credit so it can help boost your grade overall great teacher highly reccommended.
Prof. Clark is a great professor.I had no interest in socio when I began this class, but he has really sparked my interest in this subject. He makes this socio very fun to learn, and he really cares about his students. He is funny, very smart, and one of the nicest people I've ever met. I've learned a lot from him. You must read the book for an A
Prof. Clark is a good teacher. I've taken him before and enjoyed his lectures. He shows concern for his students and is willing to take time and discuss the concepts with his students if needed. He is a fair, passionate and genuine professor. ABSOLUTELY great guy. I even considered changing my major because he sparks such an interest.
He is the best! I think his class changed me and made me a better person. It really opened up my eyes about people and society in general. He is extremely fair and a really nice guy. The online class involves quite a bit of writing and weekly discussions, but he is a fair grader and the tests are straight forward. Highly recommended!
He wasn't very clear when answering questions and would ramble a lot. Passionate about the subject, but not very skilled at being clear and concise about what is expected. Tried to reach him numerous times through email and phone, no response. If you can memorize definitions and review the slides you should do well. Nice man, but not the best prof.
This professor is BOMB
Professor Clark is a great teacher, his on campus class was full so I had to take his online class. Overall it wasn't too difficult. There are discussions pretty much every week. You have 3 exams, and SLO paper and a final. As long as you read the book, take notes and go over the key concepts which he gives you should get an A/B. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Professor Clark is down to earth, funny, and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the class. You must read the book & be prepared to participate in discussion. If he senses the class is not reading, he will assign HW. Fortunately, our class never had any. Only assignment is 4 page paper.
Nice personality with an amazing a life story. Sometimes, he told story about his life and connected with sociology. It was very interesting. You have to be active in the class to have extra credit. Great example for his students. Well done, Prof!!
Professor Clark is hands down the best professor I have ever had. He gives super clear examples, goes over each chapter in complete detail, and gives you topics of the short answer questions before each test. The vast majority of my class ended up getting an A. Just read the book and you're guaranteed an A!! TAKE HIM!!
Prof Clark is THE BEST. I loved him. His class was so much fun and he makes it a pleasure to learn!
Discussions to post once a week (if you're taking online course), but they're interesting topics. His tests are pretty easy. My only problem was how little time we had to complete it. I really recommend talking to him in his office hours. He's very sweet and interesting to converse with.
Clark is a very good professor. He encourages students to get involved in class discussions. Please read the text, take notes and listen carefully to lectures in order to pass the tests. I wasn't interested in Socio at first, but after taking his class, I am now more interested in society and social issues. Very likable and says corny jokes a lot!!
Really great professor. He's nice and very clear about what he wants in his discussions. A lot of people seemed to have a hard time in understanding what he wants though, so read the instructions carefully. His tests are pretty easy also if you read over the modules. Overall, he's a pretty good professor although we rarely talked in person.
Professor Clark is an AMAZING professor! He makes the class very enjoyable and easy to understand. He always tells us fun stories and is very caring for his students. He really wants everyone to succeed and you can come to him for anything. Tests are easy if you do the reading beforehand. TAKE HIM you wont regret it!
Here are must have tips:1) first off you can save money by downloading his book for free off the net. if you can find the torrent version it will only be one version behind. 2) you dont need to read the book. just copy and paste all the key terms(and definitions) on the side of the book and memorizeunderstand them.
he is really good professor. He helps students a lot , he care about students to succeed, funny teacher. take him i really recommend him.
Professor Clark was a pretty good online professor! I would definitely take him again. Only thing, if you aren't going to make the time to read the chapters don't waste your time (especially for the online course) 3 exams, 1 SLO paper and weekly discussions.
Terrific Professor, interesting discussions and assignments. Overall great class.
Prof Clark best teacher I've had at LACC. Learned a lot about the Sociological imagination and his stories in class were funny and interesting. He is a jem!
he's a nice teacher but isn't generous with grades. his grading scale is something you get at harvard university. also pretty lazy. he says he'll post something online and does it 2-3 weeks later. spends a lot of his time talking about his life. he does relate to sociology however. have the study on your own for exams.
professor clark is a nice kind professor. however, his grading scale is insanely strict. 55-60/60 is an A, less than 40/60 is an F. he lectures about his life most of the time and his exams are designed to make you fail. the exams aren't easy and he is not generous with grading. also very lazy. will say he'll post something and does it 1 month late
Prof Clark is very nice and chill. However, his tests are pretty difficult. You must read the book because he does not lecture on everything thats on the test. And each chapter is pretty long so you really gotta be on top of everything. 4 exams in total (including the final) and 1 essay. If you go in during his office hours, he will help you.
His is tests are very tough. He expects you to read the chapters before class therefore his lecture does not cover everything on the test. He posts key concepts as a study guide, but the amount of things needed to be memorized seems to be a bit extreme. He is a nice man and very passionate about his work, expect to work really hard.
The class was a bit time consuming because you literally have to read every chapter he assigns. He has no power point or video to explain the chapter so basically you are learning by yourself. 4 exams and 1 paper due. Weekly discussions and you have to respond to at least 2 classmates.
Tony Clark is a nice guy. However, he is very limited as a professor and is biased and disorganized. There is a lot of junk in the curriculum. Clark is very agreeable and does not focus as much on statistical facts as he does on feelings and opinions. Deficient thought fails to look at all relevant factors, which threatens objective discourse.
professor clark is a great professor he's test are a lot to handle so you will need to study a lot I pass the class with an A which I was very surprised about since I didn't start off so well. show up everyday, talk to him, participate, and don't be afraid to ask for help and he will not let you fail
His online class is easy. All you have to do is answer the discussions which are about life, marriage, sexuality, etc. His exams are difficult but there are only four. There are 42 questions worth 60 points. My advice would be the two short responses first because those are 10 points each unlike the multiple choice which is only 1 point each.
I had an amazing experience with Mr. Clark as my professor. I loved the way he used personal life experiences to give me a better understanding of sociology. Before taking this course, I honestly didnt know what sociology was. After taking this course with Mr. Clark, sociology has easily became my major. He is AMAZING! Highly recommend!
Professor Clark is an exemplary educator, he gives a great deal of support, advice and contextual references, sharing real world examples and lived experience. He is humble, open and accommodating, signposting the best way to optimise academic success in class. I now really enjoy Sociology and found it informative and transformative due to him.
Professor Clark was on of my favorites. He was always prepared and was very approachable and accessible when I needed help. I wish there were more like him!
Professor Clark is organized, has grading clear expectations, and sticks to the schedule. As a student during this pandemic, I find most professors don't take the care to have a clear course structure, modules, and timelines. If you want someone who is organized, accessible - Professor Clark without a doubt! Would take his course again!
The professors abilities to teach and convey the material was amazing. Professor clark kept me awake and grasped my attention with the work and stories he incorporated. He was fun and made class enjoyable for us while we were learning. He's not to strict but made sure we were on our toes while learning and was a great professor to have.
Professor Clark lectures on material that directly applies to test. He also uses many real life experiences the help explain and understand the terminology better.
