Down to Earth guy. Teaches Physics in an understandable manner.
Kind of hot, good prof.,sexy.......
The dude. Can't get better than this.Easy lab.
Take him...its practically a free A
Good teach. If he can't help you understand physics, I don't know who can.
His class is easy as long as you ignore him and just do your assignments. If you're a girl and you talk to him at all, he'll give you an A. His class is extremely unorganized and you don't learn.
Great teacher. Very down to Earth and really cares if we learn the material. The only people that don't like him are the usual lazy students that want to get by.
not true at all. he changed the structure of the class completely & made us write essay's for the 3rd exam. we don't have the time to learn every single thing there's to know about physics. my advise is don't take him during the summer or ever.
what can i say, tony kicks butt. class starts on time ends early, lectures are very useful, always asks if students need help, always explains and cover material as needed. easy B/A, jus come to class, sit and have a blast. No such thing as wrong answers.
He is a great teacher. Very helpful and fun. Only problem is he makes girls do boys' work, like building an electric motor. It was an awesome experience and one I will never forget. I highly recommend this class!
He is a Good teacher however he can get ****y. The work is hard and he wants you to put your all in it(i do have 4 other classes). Overall take the class to be interested but you do have to do work.
Very entertaining but I wouldn't necessarily recommend him at a quality physics prof. It is pretty much a self-teaching course because he doesn't like the text and he thinks that his webpage is the end-all-be-all...and essentially teaches from it
He expects students to be interested in what he teaches or at least "deceive" him. Make sure to add color to the assignments, he always gives xtra credit for that. He's easy only if you go to class everyday, that is when he explains EVERYTHINNG!
This is a very hard class. If you have to take this class though, Tony is a great teacher. He wants you to do the work the way he wants it though. Add COLOR!! Towards the end of the semester, he gives lots of extra credit. Respond to his questions!
What a waste of time. Low quality teacher, and no structured learning. If you need an easy grade take this class or a PE class like bowling to boost your GPA. If you actually want to learn something take another instructor.
I am a senior so Ive been hear for a while. Tony is the best teacher Ive ever taken. Its a lot of work but 80% of my class got a B or higher out of about 150 people.
gave lots of extra credit
This guy is a joke. His grading system is the worst ever. He expects work from you that *exactly* what he is looking for and that has a ton of effort put into it (like his class is the only class you are taking).
Tony is a very easy going teacher - one of the best I've ever had. He allows you to learn by experimenting rater than lecturing. You preety much teach yourself thtroughout the entire course, but he always tells you exactly what he's looking for.
Tony is one cool guy..he's funny and he makes class fun..the only thing is there is a lot of work to do! 7 homework assignments ranging from 10-20 questions and they have to be a page long for each answer! Make sure to use color in your work too...
Great teacher... lots of energy and actually likes to teach and talk with his students. Is very involved with what students get out of the class. He really got me interested in science. Recommend it if you want something different than regular boring clas
This teacher sucks, he's horrible. He actually tells you that you can miss at least one class a week and just turn in the homeworks... by the way the homeworks will at least take you 4 or 5 hours to do. They are extremly pointless, I didn't learn anythi
The best phyiscs teacher by far at SDSU. Tony takes another approach to teaching physics and tries to make it interesting to the student.
He's funny. and he makes physics interesting, but his expectations on brain drained drones (aka college students) are a little high... but its good because he has faith.
He said the class wouldn't be too challenging however I found the quizzes to be extremely difficult and time consuming. Even though I spent all day working on the quiz I still didn't do well. So don't believe him when he tells you his course is easy.
He has passion, and he is good at conveying his knowledge onto students. Very entertaining, engaging, and funny. He makes you learn, and not just memorize equations. Its different though, and lazy people wont do well. But if youre not, its pretty easy.
First two classes were nothing but Bush bashing session. Tests and quizes extremely hard. Teacher is mean, when you try to ask questions.
No joke- U need to be ON TOP of everything U R responsible 2 learn. He doesn't go over text problems that much- but gives U the tools (+text) to be able to figure it out on your own. 2nd exam's a ****.
He might be a funny guy, but he can NOT TEACH. He fools you into believing that if you are a hard worker you will do fine. This is not true. Tests are hard and overall I think he is a horrible teacher. NOT HELPFUL or available that much 4 office hours
He is a really fun teacher. I think he is the funniest teacher i have ever had. He tries to be mean but he really is a sweet person. I recommend taking physics with him because he makes it fun to learn and intresting.
Tony's problem is he thinks everyone is as smart as him. He's a good guy, when sober & not high, but his material is hard. Yes he tells you what you need to study, but he basically tells you the whole chapter. Look to spend MANY hours on each homework!!!
Tony is very funny. His class is very hard but that is because the material is. He trys his best to get you interested in the subject and you definitely will learn it in his class. His assignments are extremely hard and time-consuming, though.
Tony is a funny guy but when he teaches he likes to add in all his feelings towards politics and religion instead of actually teaching the class. The homework takes a long time but there's very few assignments.
Tony finds a way to make every class fun. He has a great sense of humor and establishes a good rapport with his students. He's a teacher that understands the stress students experience. I highly recommend his class. I learned ALOT and had a great semester! Thanks Tony :-) Cindy
he's the best teacher i've had since being at state. the subject is pretty hard, but he tries his best to make it interesting. He faked me out when he told us we were watching a video about robots. It ended up being a star trek episode. I highly recommend this good guy.
Tony makes class fun, but there's no point in going to class. You have to teach yourself the material, so good luck with that. Nice guy, easy work, but be ready for some really hard open-book tests. I got an A, but I worked my butt off for it. Be ready to do the same.
good teacher. tells u EXACTLY whats on the tests. must study and keep up. I got an A but worked my butt off.
Could not stand to go to class. He is very rude and does not teach the subject matter. The whole class is religious bashing and politics. He tried to make you think tests are easy, but they are SO hard. He is very unfair with his questions. if u can take any other GE take it instead!
HILARIOUS, SO passionate about the class and its purpose. If you have an open mind, his comments on religion and politics will amuse you and stimulate your mind. Watch out for his open book tests - really abstract questions. Do your homework to secure a good grade, the tests will swing you around.

tony is hilarious!pure entertainment but he does tend to be off the subject.if you really need to know physics, this might not be the class for you, but if you are taking it just because you have to i totally reccommend it.class is fun and you dont even realize you are learning.
The exams ARE the homework, but his expectations are unconventional, so not an easy A. Lecture is entertaining, although either you love his humor or hate it.
I do not recommend taking this class from Tony. It is not worth waking up at 8am for his lectures. I found him to be a very rude and unapproachable instructor. He did show interesting videos, though, and has a helpful website.
His class is like a whirl-wind...youre never totally sure if you are meeting Tony's expecations but if you can figure him out you can do alright. Not an easy A...but he tells you exactly whats on the test so its up to you to study it. Not a politically correct guy so beware if you are sensative.
He is a complete a**hole. The class is okay if you know how to teach yourself physics but if not beware....he is not a good teacher...and he is not approachable AT ALL!
Tony tries his best to help students although there is alot of work. He is very approachable and helpful but you have to show him that you are actually doing your work, he is not just going to give you answers.
The people that rated him well have to be kissasses. That's the only way you're going to get a good grade in this class. Completely biased and unprofessional.
don't blame your bad grades on him..he gave us many chances for extra credit and allowed us to resubmit our hw..what more do you want?exams are made up of hw questions. Take Ferguson's class and then you will understand how great Tony is :)
HIS HUMOR IS ANNOYING WHEN YOU REALIZE THE MATERIAL IS NOT "A PIECE OF CAKE" LIKE HE SAYS. HE CONTINUOUSLY MAKES THE POINT THAT "YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS CRAP". HIS LECYURES ARE POINTLESS. HE WILL DO A FEW EXAMPLES EVERY NOW AND THEN. KNOW UR HW, THE QUESTIONS ARE THE TEST, USE UR CLASSMATES TO STUDY, UR BOOK AND THEM ARE THE ONLY WAY TO LEARN!
TONYDUDE IS THE MAN. It's basically impossible to find a better physics teacher. He's straight up. The HWs are the tests, no games and the material is just cool stuff to learn that he chooses. I took 180A somewhere else and hated it, notice how no one names anyone better to take, so take him. Just diagram and keep up the hw and you'll do fine.
Tests are verbatim what is on homework, he even gives you the exact homework problems that are on them. Homework is easy and if you truly study you WILL earn an A. He acts like a hardass but is a big softy. You ACTUALLY have to apply yourself, however, this is PHYSICS!
tony can be really intimmidating at times, but as long as you put in the effort you can earn a decent grade. hes so straight forward with the tests taken from the hw. seriously, i learned more from taking tonys class than all other physics classes combined- so if you have to take it its worth it
Tony is seriously the best physics professor I've had at SDSU. Tony is there to give you a hand when you have questions about homework (even though he might seem intimidating at first, but he really cares). Tests are like homework. Option of final or paper. Great class, very interesting, learned a lot!
I am half way through his class and OMG he is so unhelpful. He wouldn't answer any questions because "we should already know it." He don't answer any of my email. Then he took down his Help Page after a few students comment on his class. The help page is the only thing that's helping students and he took it away to save face. Worst Professor ever
WORST TEACHER EVER. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. HE IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL HE TRIES TO BE "FRIENDLY" AND THEN TURNS AROUND AN YELLS AT YOU. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL TEACHER. THE CLASS IS HARD, BUT IF YOU STUDY ON YOUR OWN YOU WILL DO GOOD. NO THANKS TO "TONY DUDE"!
Overwhelming more than usual for a summer class. A lot of unnecessary stress. Very strict about how things are suppose to be done. Exams are structured nicely. Grading of homework is not. Needs to offer more of teacher's time to students. Click on 'read the reponse to this rating' which is located on the left for more detailed comments.
Prefereably, he was helpful but he was hard. Honestly, I am very proud of him and he's a GREAT FRIEND to help you.
one of the last surviving teachers that conform to the belief of student independency. It's refreshing, but sometimes i get lazy and wish to just absooorb. "what the crap?!"
Tony is a real good guy, and he loves teaching. His style isnt for everyone. Hewants you to open up, and if you dont open up and try to like physics, you will probably hate him. Hes pretty liberal and talks about politics openly, which is cool but pisses off some people. The thing is though is that he wants people to care. About physics and politic
he just wants you to learn and be excited about learning.usually teachers just want you to memorize stuff for a test and the forget it later. he really wants and expects you to know it on another level.he is hilarious too.be careful not to ask stupid questions though, youll be sorry.lots of HW, but worth it when you get an A..who gets As in physics?
He's one of the best teachers I've had. His way of teaching makes you learn the information. There is a lot of work, but without it, most people would fail. About 70% get B's, you just have to work for it. He's very funny too. Lectures definately keep you intersted.
tony is a great guy. but not a great teacher. I have never met a teacher so anal about everything. Drawing diagrams for every single question is dumb, some are easy enough that you don't have to draw one, yet there goes your points! Not everyone wants to be a physics genius, so stop making us become one. DEFINITELY do not take this class.
worst teacher ever. tries too hard to be "cool" hes over 40 and tries to act like hes 20 with vulgar comments and talking about inappropiate things. he automatically expects that everyone hates physics because its hard and that he needs to hold your hand through everything. he makes you do things his way instead of letting you do it your own way.
Tony is great, for all you haters out shut up and do your work. Everyone that rates Tony bad must have gotten a bad grade, and I could put money on that. Take Tony's courses there good and can be a great learning experience, that is if you want to learn. So to all the haters, good luck in the rest of your courses. Peace out!!!!!!!!!
good that he wants students to learn. tests are structured well. you get to choose which problems you wanna do. however, be aware that he is the kind of teacher that would post the "good comments" and would attack the other comments. he is very anal about how things are done. he takes points off for nothing. i would not recommend him. honest
Could have been a good experience, but was a waste of time. He is an egotistical maniac who makes inappropriate comments that denegrade students. Must be an effective brown noser with the department chair - who would allow this guy to teach? I got a good grade and still hate this guy.
Conceptually easy, but gives lots of busy work (notes, problems, application assignments) and demands perfection. Nice man who cares about whether you learned, but requires you to develop curiosity and interest in physics. Must form study groups or meet with him alone to get help. Explains well. Expects much so criticizes until receives perfection.
Tony and the expectation may be scary at first but once you get the hang of want he wants (which is not that hard) you can definitely get an A in the class. Dont stress the first few weeks just go with the flow and you'll do fine..Also if you bomb one test he will help you out if you do better on the other tests.
hard class but a good professor, take it with tony while you still can!!!!!
This is the most enjoyable physics class offered at SDSU. Tony is entertainment in front of the class and somehow manages to transmit a load of information to the students without them even knowing it. Yes, you do need to pay attention and attend class, but think about it, this is a PHYSICS class!
Tony is a very entertaining professor! He is fair..provided you put in the effort! The class is ALOT of work..the amount of work forces you to actually read the book! Tony makes Physics interesting..he is honestly out to help students..there are always going to be people with negative opinions but I would honestly say 90% of our class were pleased
This class is absolutely do-able. Find out what he wants as early as possible, or you will keep missing the same points. He really does want everyone to learn & appreciate physics in their daily lives. Don't be a quiet person in class! Speak up, be known, question things, & Tony will respect you for it. He respects students who think for themselves
Tony's a great professor, there needs to be more professor's like him around. These courses are an awesome way to learn all the basics of physics and can easily be passed. Stay on top of your work, do what he wants and you should do fine. He's the type of professor that truely wants you to do well, but we're in college so that does require work; )
Tony is awesome! He makes you want to kill all other professors for making you regergitate (is that how you spell it?) stuff. He makes you understand that you have to KNOW things as apposed to learning to get A's and forgetting later. However, keep in mind, diagrams are important. Perfect homework = Perfect Grade. Always put in 100%.
I have a great deal of respect for Tony. I spent many days after class simply talking physics with him and trying to get to know him. My advice would be to take the time and do the same thing. He is a very intelligent guy always open for good insightful conversation. Don't be shy! Don't be a crybaby! Do the work and spend the time to UNDERSTAND!
After the first week of class, you really get to know what exactly this guy wants you to do, and thats understand physics. He really is the best professor ive ever had, and really rewards the students who work hard!I got an A, it took effort, but was rewarding. Test are straight forward, do your homework and youll be just fine. Awesome DUDE

By far the WORST teacher I ever had in my LIFE. He has good intentions but is VERY UNHELPFUL. He doesn't answer any emails. He doesn't answer any questions because "we should know how to do it." He will attack students that doesn't like his class by covering it up. He once took down his help board cuz 1(ONE!!) student was complaining.
Okay, the homework is the exams. I don't know if it can get any easier than that. If you have a hard time with the homework Tony makes himself very accessible to help you with it. He can come off a little rough around the edges, but he is a real nice guy, and wants you to pass the class, and will help you if you have a problem with the material.
Tony was great. So funny. I failed my first test, but then after realizing what he wanted, I pulled a B+ at the end. Tests exactly like homework problems. We were able to write a paper instead of taking the comprehensive final....so nice. Recommend the class. Memorize homework problems.
By far one of the worst teachers I've ever had. He does not want to help, and has no structure to his lectures. He would rather spend an entire class period complaining about how we shouldn't write in the margins of the paper on our homework.
the material is simple but the professor makes it so much harder than it needs to be. He makes it impossible to get a good grade in his class, he will find any reason to mark you off on anything handed in
You must take his class if you need a lower division science class.
Worst Teacher ever...No joke! He'll take points off where ever he feels like it. Dont take this Class, go to Mesa or Grossmont. He wont help you, he'll just get mad and send you out of the room. I wish I made the decision not to take this horrible teacher!
He's so nit-picky that you can get the right answers and do all the work, and still get no credit. TERRIBLE TEACHER!!!! DONT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!
Aww, come on guys...Tony's not that bad! We could have been stuck with a professor who failed half the class, and that's not what Tony did. Yes, you do have to teach yourself and the concepts are hard, but Tony is nicely gracious enough with his grading scale that I managed to get an B.
This class is VERY time consuming, and it doesn't help that he is totally anal about homework. He really tries to get you a good grade tho--offers lots of EC. but it is not an "easy A" DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!
HES TERRIBLE! Gives huge amounts of hw and you get no points on it. Hes too nit picky, so much so that you can do everything right but the diagram isnt descriptive enough so you get points off... DONT TAKE HIM!!!!
Having taken his class & earned my easy A, I am now paying the price since I have no clue how 2 do physics. I hired a tutor 2 do the extra credit for me, & now studying for the MCATs I have hired tutors & taken prep classes for something I should have learned when I took the class. An easy A is NOT learning my friends, it will cost you in the end
A lot of busy work and worthless lectures but his tests are easy because he tells you what questions will be on them. If you can get past the politics, class drama, and religion bashing in his lectures you should realize that taking physics anywhere else will be much harder. Just play his game and draw your little diagrams and you can get an A or B
overall easy class, all you really need to do is the homework, if you understand it then you are set. the tests and quizes come right out of it. gives a good deal of extra credit, easy A or B
Greatest professor at SDSU is an understatement. 140 pts extra credit out of 1000 total pts. Easy tests. His class had an average of a B. Makes physics interesting (I was about to switch to a physics major after this class, and I hated physics). Homework helps you learn, great lectures, easy tests. What's not to like?
He's TERRIBLE! Dont take him... too much work to do for a bad grade. He's so nit picky that you could totally know physics and still do terrible on his exams because you didnt draw pretty enough
don't be stupid and take his class. alot of the good comments are on here is too good to be true. This dude is so unhelpful it's amazing he has the mentality of wanting his students to do well. doesn't answer emails and take points off for no reason at all. he can't even explain to you why it was deleted. take the class elsewhere!
Not the best lecturer in the world but wants his students to do well. Gives TONS of extra credit and all the test questions before hand. Hard to do badly in this class except for the homework. Make sure its PERFECT!! This is where I lost most of my points but got a B+
Have fun teaching yourself physics!
The only reason people pass his class is because of extra credit. Doesnt help students, VERY unclear in lecutres and rude in office hours. Had to teach myself most of material(or just memorize answers). Takes points off for no reason and never posts stuff on web when he says. Just an overall, poor professor and just a poorly run class, PERIOD.
You have to read the chapter and do all of the homework! He offers extra credit because he wants everyone to do good in his class. He also gives test questions before test. He is moody, but truely cares about your grade. I got an A once I saw what he wanted us to do. Draw diagrams, reasoning and just know what you are doing and you will do fine.
RUN AWAY. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT LOOKING BACK. TONY IS RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, AND TREATS HIS STUDENTS AS IF SCHOOL IS A BATTLE BETWEEN STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. VERY UN-HELPFUL. SAYS HIS CLASS ISN'T PROBLEM SOLVING BUT GRADES ONLY PROBLEMS. ENJOY TEACHING YOURSELF PHYSICS.
the material is tough but tony does EVERYTHING he can to help. we had 44 A's, 58 B's, 57 C's, 11 D's and only 7 F's. thats amazing for such a large class. He is the best physics teacher. he is funny which helps u stay awake during lecture at 8 am. the tests are the exact same as the homework problems
haha what would you think the grades would be if he didn't change the grade scale or offer tons of extra credit? please. he is very rude and unhelpful. not reachable. his reasoning is bad and some of the assignments were awful. i took him in the summer and he got us reading a history book on the side. do yourself a favor, take someone else.
Guy is a real dick. Unhelpful. He thinks everybody is a visual learner like him and punishes you if you arent. Rough grader. Doesnt communicate via email or telephone. Office hours are pointless since he spends the entire time telling you how stupid you are. Worst teacher ever. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
HOW DID GET SO HARD!!!!
This guy is a real jerk. I am an A student and have had the most diffucult time ever in his class. His homwork assignments take on average 30-50hrs a week to complete, along with numerous other assignments. Not to mention he puts down his students in many ways. I have never had a more work intensive class or disrespectful instructor!! DONT TAKE HIM
Warning DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF. DROP HIM WHILE YOU CAN. I've seen his hw problems for ** years and they seem way too hard for people like you whom physics is not your field of study. he is a ridiculus grader and will literally cuss at you. "STAY AWAY FROM HIM AT ALL TIMES."
this prof is way cool...yes it's true the homeworks are hard but only becuz the homework are exactly like the quiz and exam questions. if u know how to do the hw prblems then the quiz and exams should be a breeze...and he offers a bunch of extra credits. i took him for physics 180 A...as well. he's a good prof.. HOMEWORK PROBLEMS = "A" class grade.
An absolute moron. Horrible lecture. Class is a waste of time. Grades ridiculously hard. Assigns an insane amount of work (i took him in summer) and doesn't use proper english. DO NOT TAKE HIM. Might be better during school, but horrible during summer.
Ok so there's so much homework you can barely keep up.. but on the bright side that's the hardest part! Just do all the homework and you'll do well on quizzes because they're just like the homework. Tony is hilarious and a nice guy! He just acts tough. Don't be a baby about it and he'll love you. He likes it when you joke around with him.
Tony is a really cool lecturer. Yes, the hw workload is in upwards of at least 20hrs a week. Test problems are *almost* exactly like hw problems. This class is tough no matter what. There's not going to be any professor who just hands out an A on this. You need to study your ass off and do both sets of hw to just get by in here.
There is a lot of homework but it really helps you understand everything and makes the quizzes really straightforward. If you are ever unclear about something Tony is almost always in his office and loves to help. He will joke around with you a bit but in the end really wants everyone to do well.
This guy teaches the physics sequence required for bio majors, so every life science student has to take this class. I don't want to get into name calling, but there is just something about Tony I don't like. I don't like the showing off. I just don't think this guy is as bright as he claims. His MA degree really isn't in physics. I got a B
you will get a good grade in this class but personaly i don't think it's worth the trouble. he is a bad lecturer and very unhelpful. he use the excuse "we should know that" so he doesn't have to help us. no email replies. have a very big ego. everyone gets a good grade because of his extreme curved scale. good grade but bad teacher. PASS HIM
Tony is Awesome! He is really funny. Probably one of the most caring professors I have ever had. He really wants you to try. If you make an effort to understand what is going on he will help you out. Its not an easy class. Physics 195 is never going to be an easy class. Put effort into the homework. Help eachother out. Then you will pass.
Physics is very intimadating.. this class kicked my butt..BUT Tony is the best PHYSICS TEACHER AT STATE, really, i had them all. There was a lot of homework required but if you did the homework you pretty much got your test down. He means well and he is ALWAYS willing to help students out.working with a group helped out a lot. very happy with my B.
Physics is a hard class PERIOD, but Tony really does want everyone to pass. Drawing out his diagrams are kinda tough but he gives u extra credit all the time....Lots and lots of hw asmts but he's fair. The only way to do well is to follow EXACTLY what and how he wants for hw and of course, show up to class....he's a funny guy so u won't fall alse
Tony was pretty much the coolest teacher I've ever had. If anybody questions his dedication to teaching us just look at his website which has link after link and page after page of stuff to help us out, and hes always willing to help you out as long as you make an attempt The homework is a lot but by the end you know so much its worth it.
he's the worst professor i ever had, no exaggeration. just read the other comments, they're right on. work is hard but he grades easily. easy to pass but dealing with him is not worth it. very unhelpful. be aware of the overall "good" comments. Tony has been known to spam "good" messages about himself here. and he says he doesn't have an ego
Tony is a very helpful and inspiring professor. He is always available, even after office hours. He uses the text book as a guide so it's best you buy it. Lectures are student guided, interesting and entertaining when Tony chips in. All in all it was a very informative class. Take him and you won't regret it.
Worst professor ever. Does not teach during class, you must learn from his website or on your own. Is rude and unhelpful when asked questions. Is disorganized, unclear, and uses a textbook that is just as bad.
Worst professor I've ever had at state. His website sucks and he sucks at teaching. I would drop an egg on his head while he walked into the GMCS building but I don't have enough confidence in my physics I will precisely hit him. Suck an egg Tony.
This guy really sucks.. NO JOKE. He doesn't teach, and when he attempts to teach, I feel I lost the little intelligence I had about Physics. His website blows major balls, and so does his teaching meathods. His tests are difficult if you don't understand the material. Overall, THIS TEACHER SUCKS.
Doesnt really teach anything. Shows you the website that is "supposed" to help but doesnt really. Waste of time. Says he wants to help u get an A but grades really hard. Homework has to be the way he wants it to PERFECTION or its wrong. Class is a waste. Worst teacher their. DO NOT TAKE IT WITH TONY!!!
Probably the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. I understand the fact that it is hard to effectivily teach a wide variety of people, but this guy comes no where near that argument. He is highly unorganized, assigns rediculous online group projects that have nothing to do with physics, and refuses to do actual problems in class.
He is a horrible teacher. I learned nothing in his class. I hate physics now because of him. He grades extreamly hard on his tests. He is pure****. YOU ARE AN IDIOT IF YOU TAKE THIS CLASS DO NOT TAKE IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
His homework is hard, his project are hard, and his test are somewhat impossible! Ontop of all of that he grade hard too. Alright this guy is not that bad if you put time into his class. I hated physics before this class and now am actually interested in it. He is extreamly helpful and he is a really great teacher who cares about his studests.
You have to get used to his style of teaching. Tends to go off topic for most of the lecture and uses his website to teach which is a little confusing. Makes you pick btwn group and individual option. I chose group which is a lot of work. I put A LOT of time into this class. Test are hard to complete in 50 minutes. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. There is alo
This teacher is the worst teacher i have ever had. I took honors physics in high school so i knew most of the material, yet tony still succeeded in confusing every subject he "taught." Every class goes off topic, but you are still required to know everything. If he hasn't been fired yet, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER.
Wow, if you think this teacher is hard you must be a joke! he gives you unlimited chances. attended 10 of his classes throughout the year and yet i still ended up with an A. Group option for sure, make sure you do your hw and go to office hours to meet him. the most genuine teacher i have ever had. extra credit is key. he also give exact prac. test
tony is an ass. he thinks he is halarious, which he is during the first couple classes, then fails everyone on the first test. your only chance in this class is to do the group option and do all the extra credit, which he doesnt even give you full credit for. study the tests ahead of time, for test 2 and 3... try to take this class at a CC
Dont do individual option, he holds a grude and fails you any chance he gets (first hand experience). Do group, do extra credit. He gives you lots of chances this way and its impossible to fail if you give an ounce of thought. If you do individual and never come to class, or come to class when your not sober you will fail.
This class is a joke. It seems like Tony offered more extra credit than actual class points. The extra credit takes a while to complete, but it's the only way to get an A. If you have the time, its an easy class... You won't learn anything at all and you'll hate the prof. but you can definitely get an A with the extra credit.
great energetic prof. Although its pretty hard to do so, dont get him madd, he can be mean. Get on his good side, study hard, do homework his way, and youll do fine.
HARD CLASS. It takes a lot of work and a lot of time. This should be a five unit class. DO THE GROUP OPTION. Regardless of how hard the class is the Tony offers alot of extra credit and if you work hard you can get a good grade. good luck
TERRIBLE teacher and disrespectful - literally got in my face when i sought help during office hours. never been so offended by a professor. Could not get an explanation for any missed points on exams during office hours - demanded that I tell him why I missed the points instead. Nonsense. Terrible teacher, wouldn't take him again if you paid me.
I HATE HATE HATE this man! If you don't choose group option, you're screwed, but if you do, there is a HECKA lot of work. I am almost a straight A student, but got a B- in this class. I never took a physics class b4, and he taught me NOTHING about physics. He sucks, don't know about the other professor, but DON'T TAKE TONY!!
If you are looking to learn Physics, as in to go on to more Physics classes, this IS NOT the class for you. I passed the class but I need to take it over with another Proff because I did not learn a thing. Grading system benefits only those who belong to a group. Worst class I have attended at State.
Tony is cocky, arrogant, and extremely rude to his students. He should be forced to list his class as web-based, because he never taught us anything the entire time we were in class-only showed us his physics website. Most of the class were failing until he gave so much extra credit to us that we couldn't fail. If you want to learn DON'T TAKE HI
I don't know why people hate him so much. The class is tough but it is PHYSICS! Do the group option and do things the way he wants them and you'll do fine. He gives a lot of extra credit, probably close to 200 points and there is only 700 in the class. I didn't study for any tests, did my homework, and did all the extra credit and got an A.

i took tony in the fall and it was easily the biggest academic mistake i have ever made. i read all the bad reviews on here before-hand and shrugged them off.. DO NOT DO THAT. i have never had more headaches, late nights, and utter confusion over one class. and its only worth THREE units! do not do this to yourself...
I love this teacher. He has everything you need online and a very flexable grading system. He is big on diagrams and explanations. Also, if you don't like doing homework or showing up to class you can still get an A just do a video experiment or one of the other extra credit options.
One of the worst teachers I have ever had, I have never come close to failing a class this guy is a real piece of work
My biggest advice is to go into his office and meet with him REGULARLY. The first semester I took him I wasted soo much time being mad at him (never met with him) and I ended up with a C in the class. The next semester I went into his office once a week and I ended up with an A. It's just a matter of getting past his crap and focusing on the work.
I had Tony for both 180A and 180B. I slacked off a little second semester so I ended up with a B-, but if you meet with him and do the work you will get at least a B. There were a lot of A's in my class, and he always provides extra credit! Also he is easy to pursaude, for example, if you want a test moved back! Overall Tony is a great guy!
He is never wrong. I hated this class with a passion. I have never studied so much to get a B. He avoids all questions. He makes tons of mistakes during his lectures and he grades sooo hard on the tests and quizzes. He doesnt let you ask questions about his grading. Overall he is a real **** with chip on his shoulder for some reason. He is satan
the person below me just said everything i was going to say. NEVER answers questions, tells you to figure it out on your own. says every problem is "basic" and "easy" and physics is like riding a bicycle. the ONLY reason I didn't tell him to go f***k himself is because he's the type of guy who will give you a bad grade if he doesn't like you

Zero ratings are too high for this professor. Do Not take this man. Absolutely the hardest professor I ever took in my life. Got through Calc III with A's and I can not get the way this man teaches. Had a 3.56 GPA going into this class. Will not answer questions, rude to students. HW does not correspond to tests. This man is bad news.
if you cant learn by reading a book or a web page, this is not the class for you. if you ask a question he will tell you to read the book or look at the web page. he does give things like extra points for a certain score on a quiz or test, but you have to score high to get those. he has a huge attitude and is extremely easy to piss off.
Take the physics sequence at Mesa, Grossmont, Palomar, Southwestern.....anywhere but here from this guy.
I took both 180A & 180B with Tony. DO NOT ARGUE WITH HIM. Do everything he says, agree with him, and converse with him every once in a while and you will do fine. Got a solid A in the first class, not sure about the second one yet. Dont recommend taking this over summer if you want an A. Dont be afraid, he's more bark than bite.
He is my favorite teacher by far. If you want to take the MCATs later, he's the teacher to have. You learn so much because he makes you learn. His office hours are always opened and he's always willing to help. I got an A both semesters. The test questions are exactly from the homework. He is one of the only teachers that cares about his students.
Physics is a difficult subject to understand and the way Tony teaches can make it more difficult. However, he is a good guy who wants everyone to succeed in his class. Make yourself do it his way and you will succeed because his way makes you learn not just memorize. To succeed you will need to be able to teach someone how to do the problems.
I loved this teacher, explained everything. His notes are all online and his tests is the homework. Plus tons of extra credit. Only problem that I had was the fact he is an **** when grading the tests. But he knows that and gives fairness points which helps. Overall take him if you want to learn, otherwise take Bocker for an easy A.
Tony is a really clear teacher. You know exactly how he wants you to answer the questions and he gave out the test questions BEFORE THE TESTS! GO TO OFFICE HOURS! He inflates grades a lot if you do! Study and do the hw and you'll do fine!
Tony is a great guy, just stay on his goodside. if you talk in class he will get to know your name to ask you on the spot questions in the future. i took the class in the summer and it was a test of everyones abilities to memorize 3 exams within 24 hours which he gives you 1 at random on exam day. good practice for pre-meds to shape up or shipout
This class gave me one of the best science experiences at SDSU!! This professor made class fun and was very helpful. If you want to learn physics in a fun hands-on way I definitely recommend his class, and don't believe the bad comments people have of him. It's very hard to get a bad grade in this class. Try it if you want a fun science experience
Tony is at times hard to understand, and has his occasional tangents, but for people willing to work a little toward learning, this is a great class. Tony will never give you anything on a plate, you always have to earn it and in my opinion that forces you to learn it a little better. It is nigh impossible fail Tony's class.
He is a moron. I don't think he is as sharp as he thinks. A middle aged guy trying to be a 21 year old.
Ok, so we just got our first test back and I have two examples to why you should not take this class. I got every answer right, but I still got a 36/60, and my friend got the solution right to a 24pt problem, but got 8/24. You must teach yourself because he can't explain why, he just shows you his stupid website. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE, HE SHOULDBE FIRE
Truly a useless instructor. You can understand the material, get the right answer to you problem and still fail an exam because he doesn't like your drawing. Do a problem just as the solution manual or text present it and still loose half the points because he would prefer the problem be done a way he never presented in class.
AVOID THIS INSTRUCTOR AT ALL COST. Doesn't do any actual teaching so you need to self teach from book and online homework. This would be fine except that you are graded on his very subjective views of your diagrams and even right answers and correct procedures you learn are incorrect if he doesn't approve of your method (same one the text uses).
Do NOT enroll in ANY of his courses. He cannot teach. You have to teach yourself and the only way you'll pass is if you know the material already or get help from someone else, but not Tony. Emphasizes the easy stuff, skips algebra, and puts you on the spot if you don't know something.
Is he the best instructor I have ever had, no, is he the worst, no. I believe Tony is still growing as an instructor and think he has huge potential because he does care. The same people who say he sucks are the same people who dont do the homework. Its real simple, if take a math or physics class you need to do problems sets to get the concepts
Tony is a very good teacher. He is funny and intersting. He provides three versions of the exact test a week before so that we can study. He gives fairness pts and progressive points on ALL TESTS! He is flexible if you miss a test. I bombed a test and HE ASKED me if I would like to retake it! He gets to know his students on a first name basis.
Class was very difficult, but Tony gives tons of extra credit and uses progressive grading so you ca get point back on past exams by doing better on the next one. Think there was 6 quizzes and he tells you what type of problems will be covered. Show up to office hours if you can, and he'll help you with any HW problems you have.
I had a D- in 195 with Baljon, and in this class I have an A. He makes the material interesting, and provides more than enough resources for you to do well. If you do not learn anything in this class, then it's because you got lazy.
Knows his subject and has a fair grading system that truely shows levels of not only knowledge of the subject, but also improvement of students. Best Professor I have had yet.
Tony is a great teacher; you would be a fool not to take him for physics. He makes the material super easy to follow and allows you to know the tests before you take it. How can it get any better? The online hw is super simple. And he usually gives extra credit opportunities.
Good prof. Would recom. him to any1. You'll get a good grade if you put in the time and effort. Very excited about phys, makes it very interesting. Very helpful in class Ex's on the board. webassign's easy pts. higher test grades brings up last test. Had Bocker, failed it, pissed off, took tony, love physics again. Cn't say engh good thngsTAKE TONY
Tony does a good job of teaching his classes. It may not be conventional, but he really cares about his students and wants to see them succeed.I think that many people simply do not put in enough time into this class, thinking they do not need to practice for exams when they do.It's easy to blame a professor for a bad grade, but really its the student
Tony is a super teacher. I think most of the bad comments are coming from C , D, and F people who didn't do there hw or did not make the effort in listening to what Tony says. The class is fun and easy. Class is setup in way where you have to solve problems yourself in order to learn it. Tony is a teacher, not a babysitter. So get with it people!
Tony is an awesome teacher. He really tries to make it fun and interactive. Go to class and really put the effort in. He's a nice guy so if you need help, he will help you. Go to officer hours too.
This teacher comes HIGHLY reccommended. Physics is not an easy subject and Tony does such a great job at breaking stuff down. He is always there to help with any questions and he is not scary or intimating to talk too. The progressive grading helps curve the class at the end and he supplies you test study guides prior to exam! He's awesome!
He is definitely the best teacher at State for all physics classes! He is so helpful, and give tons of opportunities to boost your grade if it is low, and is very fair at grading. Just don't be lazy and actually study and you will do well, he even gives hints about the tests that are SUPER helpful!
Tony is an excellent teaching and is probably the best teacher i have had at SDSU. His class can be difficult and a lot of work but physics is difficult and a lot of work. He is fair and if you really try you will do well in his class. He give lots of extra credit and take adavntage of his office hours and other students.
Tony may not be your average physics teacher but that doesn't mean you won't learn anything in his class. Every time I went in to his office hours and told him what I was having trouble with he was more than willing to help. Just because a teacher makes you figure some stuff out on your own doesn't make them a bad teacher. This is college!
Tony is crazy. I've never had a professor who was more concerned about my grade. I just wanted to pass the class and move on, but he was honestly interested in everyone understanding the material and making good grades. He doesn't hand out freebie points to pass you, but if you show an interest in the class and honestly try to learn the subject
Tony is an incredibly intelligent person, and he cares tremendously about physics and how well his students learn the material. Sometimes, he has trouble explaining specific concepts, but he always makes sure you understand the overarching concept.
There are two catagories of students who visit this site, the studious and the slackers. If you're looking for an "easy" teacher then F**k off...newsflash...PHYSICS IS NOT EASY!! If you want an A then Tony's your man. Alot of optional homework to inflate your grade, tons of Extra credit, and the tests before you take them. He wants you to succeed!
Undergraduate classes are meant to be challenging for incoming freshmen, especially sciences. That said, Tony is not a real professor, nor does he actually 'teach'. As a Junior, I have taken a lot of science courses and this was the most disappointing. Avoid him. If you think we are exaggerating, sit in on a lecture and see for your self. Avoid.
Tony's the nicest guy you'll ever meet. He really wants everyone to do well and always has time to help you. He is a very picky grader and wants a lot of detail, but he gives so much extra credit and chances to make things up that it doesn't matter. I definitely recommend him.
If someone has a different approach in teaching it does not mean that you wont learn anything from the class. On the contrary,Tony explains the material very well.Physics is hard but his examples makes it easier, simple and very fun. If you just go to his web site, you may see that he really cares about the students.
His classes are great.I had never laughed more than in Tonny's classes. He is a great as a teacher as well. For those who think he is rude, so what? You are in the school to gain knowledge.
Very tough teacher but there isn't a teacher out there that wants you to do better than Tony. He has tons of hours of office help and gives fairness points on his tests. He also gives various opportunities for extra credit and if a good proportion dont do well on the homework, than he will extend the date that its due. Take him if you want to learn
One of the best professors I have had here at SDSU. He is a dedicated professor and knows how to teach. Yes the material is extremely hard but he wants you to learn and will do anything he can to help you. Most of the work has to be done by the student but it is college! Definetely recommend him as a professor. He will help you!
Great class, probably the best I've ever had. He really makes physics interesting and makes you want to learn more about it. I would definitely recommend!!
Tony is a waste. Why is he on the faculty?
Love this class. It was interesting and I learned a lot. Yes he grades hard but he has fairness points that are fair. Plus the homework is easy, they are also the exam. Make sure you know what you are talking about b/c that is what he is looking for.
Tony is one of the few professors at sdsu who genuinly has his students best interests at heart. Don't mistake the diffuculty of the subject matter with this man's ability to teach. Honestly, who thinks physics is an easy subject? Even so, Tony has the unique ability to show his students the big picture. Work hard, and I garuntee an A.
I have never had a science teacher who has cared so much about his students. Physics is hard, but his grading style is based off your improvement and so you are never doomed after one bad test. The guy is passionate about the subject and passionate about teaching, good luck finding a better physics teacher in SD.
Great professor. Gives you a lot of chances to pull up your grade. Makes the class interesting and really conveys himself very well.
Tony genuinely cares and wants you to do well in his class. He is available and makes every effort to help. I never thought I would do well in Physics. This class requires you to study and attend lecture, but if you put for an effort you will do well.
You may get a good grade because he gives you slack, but I honestly didn't learn much from him. Then you have to do things his way on the test to get a good grade, not the TA's.
Optional homework and Final, nice. . . Fantastic website. Always communicates with students thru Blackboard. He uses Progress and Fairness pts on tests--to show how much he respects students. I like the way he lectures because he makes fun of physics concepts. Shows how to solve problems every day. Always friendly and helpful during office hours.
Awesome always willing to help you! Funny! Makes going to class enjoyable. Very clear. Always willing to work with you and take extra time with you in order for you to understand
Dimauro is amazing. I took 195 with bocker and failed. so I retook with anderson and barely passed w/ a c-. W/ Dimauro in 196 I got a B+!! His teaching style is amazing and really wants his students to succeed. Tests Versions are given before the test! So when you study you really absorb the material. Hes the best physics teacher at state :)
He is a very poor teacher, but is very motivational. He said frequently, "You know this stuff already," in class many times. Provides many chances to get better grades, however class time can be used more effectively. Textbook use is high because his course is more similar to a independent study.
If one is looking to learn physics and learn it well, than Tony's class is the perfect environment for you. He is also very understanding and only wants his students to succeed. You can't go wrong with this class!
To learn physics and do well in his class you must buy into his system. First, it is necessary to join a group. It is amazing how much you can learn from your peers, and it is even more amazing how explaining physics concepts to your group solidifies your understanding. Tony cares about his students. Listen to Tony and he will show you the way!
Physics is a tough class no matter who teaches it so prepare to study. Tony is really encouraging and if you go to his office he will help you. He also gives extra credit!
Tony is a smart dude and a nice guy once you get to know him. He encourages students to form study groups to help the learning process. Physics is a tough class to begin with so group work makes sense. His study guides help you out for th exam and if you go to office hour prepared with intelligent questions you will not be disappointed.
I think this guy is putting on an act. I don't think he is all that bright. Myself, I didn't think he is funny. But he is teaching a difficult class. Physics to mostly bio majors.
He tells you exactly what he wants. He gives you 3 versions of the test 2 or more days ahead of time and you are randomly given 1; so he is a lil tougher on grading(but not that bad, its progressive:)The days b4 the test is when you'll have to put in the most effort. The hw isnt bad.Overall good teacher, I aced the class. Ohh & final is optional!
He is possibly the worst instructor I have ever had. Be ready to teach yourself and listen to his endless self serving lectures. His study guides are so broad they are of completely useless and only serve to aggravate because they go well beyond the scope of the book or the course. This semester has been terrible and he just doesn't care.
He is a great professor and very funny. I've had him both semesters and from what I've heard his grading styles are better than the other physics teachers offered. I recommend him, if you like to talk and interact in class especially. Homework is mandatory and the tests questions given to you before hand if you study well enough.
Tony is VERY fair. He gives u all the tools u need to succeed, but he won't give you the answers. He wants u to figure things out 4 urself, but is always available via email or office hours 4 help. He is interactive n class & offers useful examples & study guides. This is not a "give me" class. He expects you 2 do ur part, which isn't unreasonable.
Tony is a very helpful professor. He doesn't like to give answers out in class, which is a little frustrating, but if you go to him with a question he will so all he can to help you out. He really cares about his students success. Physics is a hard subject, you need to put in the effort, the professor can't do it all for you.
Professor Dimauro is the best physics teacher in the physics Department. He is funny as hell and really is good about teaching you the problems. However, don't mistaken his classes to be easy. You still have to work hard and study to pass his tests. He is the best science teacher I have ever had and is really just an interesting person to know.
Tony is THE BEST physics teacher anyone could ever have. Seriously, if you want to make physics fun he's the guy to teach it. It is a difficult course if you don't keep up with the work but if you show up to class, he uses his online lectures and they are extremely helpful. He really wants you to pass and will be there to help if you need him!
One of the worst teachers I've had at state...syllabus says tests are 9-12 multiple choice questions but they were more like 10 MC and 5 calculation problems...one test was even 18 questions long with maybe 4 MC. Says one thing then does another all the time. Funny guy but bad teacher.
Tony is great! If you want to get a good grade you have to go to class and office hours. He gives great study guides before the test, and is fair on his exams. He automatically gives everyone fairness points and is generous with partial credit on his tests. He is a really sweet guy! I took him for 180A and 180B and definitely glad I did
Hey guys, Tony is an awesome professor. First of all, he teaches from his website. That's very useful because you can always access it. He is clear on what he expects from students and is reasonable with grading. He does not want his students to fail! He helps them in any way possible and is a great support. Take his class, your do great!
Tony is a great guy, the class is difficult though. I think he gives an over abundance of resources and notes so it is hard to know what is really important. He tries to make sure students do well on tests by giving extra time and a take home test, both were too long though. Do the homework, it will save you! and go to class, participation points!
Awesome teacher, just make sure that you try in his class and go to his office hours. He gets lonely in there. :-)
A cool guy, but has an interesting teaching style; I don't agree with it. You HAVE to REALLY read the textbook, the lectures don't help core building. That's the part I don't agree with. His lectures are too open-ended. I'd drink a beer with him anyday, but I would be hesitant to recommend his class. No offense.
Great teacher. Hell of a cool guy. He's the kind of teacher you'd drink a beer with. Not what you expect from a physics prof. at all. The trick to acing this class is to DO THE EXAMPLE PROBLEMS ON HIS WEBSITE!! If you can do those, you can pretty much do anything in the chapter. Tests are hard but fair. Class is curved in a good way. Recommended.
Physics is a hard major so dont take this class if you are not willing to commit 10+ hours a week to study. However, the teacher does spend way too much time on his website it is like he is in love with it. Tony is very accessible so just ask him and he will help you.
Tony is a great guy who inspires interest in the subject. However, physics is a really hard subject so if you want to take this class seriously you have to study, you have to do the HW,the study guides and all the strategic ways he offers to lift up your grade. He has an interesting teaching style so I highly recommend reading the chapters before class
I really liked Tony. From the first day I had him he was super nice and seemed excited to teach us. He is probably one of the very few professors that seems to love his job. You can ask him anything, even if you think it is a stupid question. If you do the work he assigns there really shouldn't be any reason as to why you cant get an A or B.
WEBSITE IS VERY USEFUL AND INTERACTIVE. COMMUNICATES WELL THROUGH EMAIL. STUDY GUIDES FOR TEST ARE HELPFUL. TESTS ARE DIFFICULT. HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS ARE TO YOUR ADVANTAGE. TESTS WERE MULTIPLE CHOICE/FREE RESPONSE. FREE RESPONSE WERE CHALLENGING. SOME OF THEM WERE GONE OVER IN CLASS THOUGH WHICH HELPED A LOT. HAS LARGE AMOUNT OF FREE FAIRNES POINTS
Tony's funny, nice, and really tries to be helpful. His teaching method is no the best, but if you practice using the formulas and do the problems on WebAssign then you should pass the class no problem. He wants to help, so if you're the kind of person who likes to meet during office hours, then go, but go prepared.
probably one of the top 5 teachers at this school. ALWAYS looking to help students raise their grades with office hours, in class free points, fairness points on tests, easy grader, everything. always joking around, but takes physics very seriously which is necessary in a class like this. loved the guy and you will too.
Cool teacher. He's got a unique style that you'll either love or hate. I had a Tues/Thurs class so it worked out good for me. Class is almost like a motivational pep talk to go out and do physics, but in a cool way. It's kind of hard to explain. Pretty much any prof who's got their picture on this website is legit and cares. I'd recommend him.
Dr. Dimauro is an extremely fair professor. He wants his students to do well and will provide ample opportunities to succeed in his class. Do the assign homework and class examples and you will do well.
Do the work he assigns and go to his office hours when you need help and I promise you will not fail this class. His lecturing style is quick as well as humorous. If you want to stay awake and actually enjoy the three hours a week you spend in class, take Tony. Also, read the textbook and use his website, they help quite a bit.
Tony is a great teacher, way to quick and confusing in his lecture but he gives so much extra credit and the test are a piece of cake, just STUDY!!!This is a hard class and take practice to understand. dont expect recieving a good grade if all you do is party and no study. one more thing, he make class interesting with his humor. READ THE BOOK!!!
These ratings can't be real. This guy isn't superman. He has a difficult job. Every bio major has to take 180A-B, so the interest in the class is like 0. I never thought this guy is at all funny. I never thought he is all that bright. He gives lots of extra credit, which helps students raise grades. The extra credit is kind of fun.
Tony is a GREAT teacher who honestly cares how his students do! He wants everyone to do well and gives all the opportunities to succeed in his class!! No doubt it is a hard class but READ the book and do the extra HW it will greatly help your grade. He is an awesome teacher who is very understanding!
Tony is the only reason I passed physics! He gives extra credit and if you show your work and study hard you'll be fine. Make surre you go to office hours if you're having trouble!
Honestly the worst teacher for physics.DO NOT TAKE HIM. Take Steve Leduc he's a GREAT physics teacher
His outlook is demanding. He wants you to practice solving many problems. He does lots examples in class and on his website. He animates the problem solving process on his website! He wants us to compete with Stanford undergrads. I talk with Tony. He is great in office hours. He pushes you to speak and write on his white board. Be ready---he is.
The Instructer is crazy alive. He refuses to just teach the basics to us. He gets fustrated with zombie students. He wants interaction. He wants you to get the meaning and understanding more than the answer. He is crazy funny. Quantum Physics is his fav subject. Go to off hours, he won't let you leave. My fav prof. I got an B+ but I worked for it.
Alright, Physics is Physics but Tony did a really good job with what he has. There is some work involved but not a lot. Class is optional although class work is extra credit. Study for tests! If you do well enough you dont have to take the final! Website is awesome, very helpful. Give him a chance.
Tony is a good professor and an even better guy. His style is different than other physics teachers', but if you put the work in and go to his office hours you can do well. Speak up in class.
Tony is an amazing professor. He interacts with his students during lecture and makes Physics more interesting. He makes sure the students understand the material before he moves on to something else. He has a great personality, and can actually make the students laugh. I really loved having Tony as a professor!!
Whoever gave him good ratings = crazy. go to his website, look at his grade distribution, and ask yourself then if you should take this professor.
Tony is a good guy. I'd drink a beer with him for sure. He is a spaz however. The class is difficult material, no matter who you take it with. Tony is a good teacher. Most helpful prof i've ever had. CRAZY CURVE. He could make tests a little easier. I heard he's better now than from previous semesters.
It's a shame Tony's not around anymore. He's a smart guy who knows his stuff. Sure, physics is not easy, but Tony tells you what you need to know in order to appreciate physics. Don't get me wrong this class is not easy. It's a pain, but it will pay off. Do the homework and draw out what you see in your mind. Good luck, I put 15hrs/wk. = B (solid).
ADVISE be organized and manage your time, lots of writing in this class. Very thorough teacher and lots of details. There's not much you can do besides hope that w
Tough grader, snobby and will dock you for not liking the way you answered even if it is done right. You can get everything right but he may not like it. He is not easy to listen to either, super snobby. He should not be this strict in a intro course. I think he writes the good reviews himself. beware!
