Super fair (& algebraic) grading system. Thorough reviews for tests. Sometimes we run out of time, b/c he is trying to make sure that everyone understands. He works too, so he is understanding of students that have a life other than math. His enthusiasm for the subject is contagious too.

Mr. Long is a great Algrebra Teacher. He explains things in a way you can understand them. He gives partial credit on tests and credit for doing your homework. In the end this really helps if you do poorly on a test. I would recommend him!!!!!

Tony rocks! He is the most liberal grader I have every had in math...he will give you credit for just about anything on the tests. Extremely nice and excited about math (who thought that was possible). Does take up homework...but it will be the weight of another test grade which can really help (as long as you do it) TAKE HIM :)

Mr. Long is very detailed oriented and explains things clearly and efficiently. He answers alot of the "why" questions before you even need to ask. He is very concerned about his students doing well. I highly recommend him.

Tony is a fantastic teacher. I had heard such horror stories about Statistics, but he took all that fear away with his excellent teaching style and ability. Very fair and helpful. If you take Statistics, Make sure you have him!!!

I was not excited about taking Statistics because I had heard about how hard the subject was. I was very grateful to have Tony as a teacher. He is very clear and detail oriented. He makes time to help you after class. However, be aware - he talks very fast so this is not a class to daydream in. He definitely kept me on my toes.

Wow, what a wonderful teacher he is. He gave his students every single credit. Just smile at him you are in good grade. I highly recommend him then any other teachers. He is funny.

I actually had Mr Long as a teacher in high school for a couple years and chose to take him again in college. He is the nicest teacher I have ever had and really just a genuine good person. Cares about his students and will always go out of his way to help you. Collects homework for a grade (grades on completion not correctness) Tests arent too bad

I took Mr Long in the Spring of 07. He is a great teacher, enthusiastic about his work. sometimes goes fast but knows his stuff. Tests cover all the material taught, and you can exempt the final if you have a high enough grade, Great teacher worth taking.

If you are scared of statistics like I was YOU MUST TAKE him! EASY A!!! tests are extremely easy. comparing to other teachers who give you 20? and all of them are 20 problems to solve, Tony gives you 3 problems and the rest are the questions about these problems! everyone in class was done by 20 min:) A+++++

Professor Long is a great teacher. I've taken him before and he grades fairly. If one shows up to class and turns in homework and can at least have a bit of knowlegde in the material to be able to guess a correct answer on all his multiple choice tests, then one will do fine. He encourages questions and wants to be clear on all subjects. Take him!

Awesome teacher. If you are petrified to take statistics, like I was, take him. He made it as painless as possible and was extremely fair. I would take him for another class if I could.

Tony long has a passion for Math. He tries to instill this passion in each one of his students. He is both funny, and honest. I took a summer course, which is usually not a good idea, but he made the class enjoyable. I don't recommend taking any math class in the summer, but if you do, Mr. Long is the way to go.

Professor Long is a WONDERFUL Math Teacher, especially for the summer. I was very nervous taking his class at first, but he makes the class fun and enjoyable. Show up to all the classes and take good notes. Some of the homework is challenging no doubt. However, I learned a lot of new things in this class. Highly recommend!!!!

Professor Long guides the students through each section fairly quickly but with accurate examples and helplful insight on each problem. He's always available after class, and he always strives to help the students reach As. A definite must-have!

Long is a great math teacher overall, but he can be very frustrating. I got a C on 1 of his tests, but still got an A in the class. He has 6 tests, homework for every class, and extra credit quizzes. His teaching style didnt match mine, and the book was not well put together. All in All I would still recommend him for even the math illiterate.

BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!!!! come to class pay attention and get an A... if you fear math hes the one to take! He will do everything he can to make sure you get a good grade, help you during office hours or give you a simple quiz for extra points. He's simply the BEST!

Professor Long is a great teacher; the material is not easy but he teaches you in a manner that is understandable. I received an "A" in the course but that came from doing all the assigned homework and taking good notes in class. Don't expect to slack in this class but then again it's a math course, no such thing as slacking and passing with an "A"

He is a great professor he made college algebra look easy. Do your home work and attend the class, and you will be fine. He will help you understand the material; he cares about his students and their success. Tony Long is a great Professor and great person. I would definitely recommend him to everybody.

Mr. Long is an absolutely wonderful teacher! I never thought I could get an A in any math class, and I took him in Statistics and Liberal Arts and received an A in both! Take him and you won't be disappointed!

I've taken him twice so far, and his classes are full now so I'm waiting til next semester to take two more classes with him. It's worth the wait, even if it puts me behind a bit. You WILL learn, and he won't give up on you. He makes it an easy class because he teaches you until you understand. Just do homework & show up.

This online class is ridiculously easy. I don't know what other students are complaining about. You have two attempts for each quiz and they are incredibly easy. Midterm and final are also very easy. Plus, you get 10% of your final grade by doing brainless weekly discussions. Easy A! I barely put any effort into this class.

I've had Long for Int. Alg, Stat, and now College Alg. So far, he is a superb teacher. He loves and encourages smiles, is fair in tests, and makes math less painful than it should be. Definitely recommend.

Homework is due on test days so its not like you have to rush and make it due the next day of class you have time. goood teacher take him!!!

Mr. Long is a good professor who will take the time to specifically make sure that YOU understand what he's saying. He's fair, easy, clear, and fun. I hated math, but being in his class made it a lot better for me. I would take him for whatever math you're planning on signing up for. He'll help you to suceed.

I actually took 4 of his classes during highschool, I did dual-enrollment. I took Statistics, College Algebra, Trig, and Algebra 2. He is an awesome teacher! He really takes the time to explain everything to you. I would recommend him for any math class over any other professor. And if you get on his really good side, he may even dance for you!

Mr. Long is an awesome teacher! He does take the time to help you and he will even stay after class or have you come to his office if you need additional help. If you come to class and do your HW, you will pass, if your lazy and don't want to do your work then of course you will fail! Duhhh!! Take him I hate math and I made a "B"

Professor Long is very reasonable. He gives every oppurtunity to help his student's. He'll throw in some "pop quizzes" to boost your grades if your on a verge of the next letter grade. His lesson's are quick but he does a great review before each test! Highly Recommend him for Statistics and wished he taught Calc! =)

Took Elem Statistics online with Professor Long. He is great! His syllabus is very clear and he gives you two attempts to take each chapter quiz, which helps a lot! You need the book to do homework but he also has a powerpoint for each chapter from the book. Study and you will do great in his class. Best online math class I have taken at SPC.

Long was an amazing math professor! I took him for both College Algebra and Elem. Statistics. I'm someone who is horrible when learning math, and I had no problem with any of his classes. He was incredibly clear and patient with everyone when teaching. Take him for math!!

Professor Long is a wonderful teacher. He has patients of a Saint. He would not go on till he knew everyone was on the same page and understood the material. His test were easier than the homework. There was a lot of homework, but it's worth it. His test are strictly from his notes. I would take him again. He also gives great quizes to help u out.

Had Prof Long for Intermediate Algebra. USE HIS OFFICE HOURS. I work fulltime and attend school full time, so the office hours were a valuable resource. He is VERY fair and he loves what he does. Homework is lengthy and participation is part of your grade.

This is a very hard class, but Prof. Long gives you every opportunity to get an A. Two attempts at each quiz, he drops the two lowest quiz scores and if you complete all the discussions he will give you up to five additional points to your final grade. He is also more than fair when it comes to grading your midterm and final exam. Highly recommend.

Professor Long is one of the best math teachers in the business. He understands that many of his students are not 'math people', but he is crystal clear with his teaching methods and will often tell you straightforward what will be on the test. In the two semesters I was with him, NO ONE FAILED and half the class exempted the final! Take him!

Taken him for 4 classes. Best teacher at SPC! You WILL learn & it's not boring! Sign up for classes first day b/c they fill up THAT fast! One test dropped, exam exemptible, & h/w completion & attendance a big grade factor. LOTS of FUN extra credit. Very busy life but still has a lot of office hours that are useful! He's great!!

Easy class until the midterm and final. Our class did terrible and he barely curved the tests. 2 attempts for each quiz but they really dont mean anything. its the midterm and final for your grade. Midterm and final are really hard even if you study alot. Would recommend taking in class.

Great and very helpful teacher. He is patient and always happy. His tests are fair, just do your homework which by the way is required but if you don' do it probably won't pass any ways. No final if A in first three exams. I recommend him. He don't require a calculator but you'll need a T-83 or T-83 specially for logarithms in college algebra.

Professor Long, is a great professor! He's always there for extra help and he makes trig fun. I heard bad things about Trig, but there's nothing to worry about if you take this professor!

Took class online. He gives 2 chances per test, use them! This is what will keep you grade up until it comes time for the midterm and final. The class average for midterm/final was failing. He does give 5 point extra credit for participation. You need to study or you will not pass the class.

Mr. Long is REALLY, REALLY nice and helpful. I had him for college algebra and he made the course easy. His notes are very clear and helpful.You just need to do the homework and take 5 tests and the final. If you have A you can exempt final and the last test. You'll pass any of his clases with A.

Mr.Long is by far one of the BEST math teachers I've ever had! He has a great way about teaching that grabs you and keeps you interested. Took him for upper math classes and am looking for his class again. Very student oriented and lots of tests (7 drop lowest) and believe me this is to your benefit! Really wants you to succeed! He's probably one of the better teachers to have I think I just had a hard time because it's trig. He does give a lot of leway and his best interest is in the students. I do like him a lot I just really had a hard time in this class. DONT take trig if you arent required to.

I took Professor Long for Statisics and College Algebra. Easiest A's Ive ever gotten. He is very clear in his instructions, and he is always trying to help anyway he can, whether its by making test questions as easy as possible, or having extra office hours, etc. He's a great teacher that truly wants you to do well and understand the subject.

Way to into the theory of mathmatics. We had a class that was surveyed and found no one majoring in math or physics yet 2/3's or so of the instruction time was spent on proofs and theory with very little time spent on the exercises. Very smart guy and willing to help during office hours but realize that if you want applications he is not your guy.

This guy is amazing!!! I had no clue but his teaching style was so awesome I decided to stay in the class. I showed up, studied and did my homework and I got an A and exempted the final.

I have 2 learning disabilities & got a high A; I practiced & did homework. After he teaches, it's your job to practice what he taught (don't be lazy with ur homework, do it); if you didn't do well; you didn't put the effort in. He uses math lingo to teach. I'm taking him for all my math classes. He's nice, fantastic, & brilliant!

I cannot recommend Professor Long highly enough. His teaching style is clear and thorough; his course structure is straightforward and achievable; he has an obvious passion for the subjectâ??the occasional jaunts into math-theory-land are edifying and entertaining; and he patently cares about the success of his students. Mr. Long is soo cool and passionate about his work. He's really lenient when it comes to grading and test and stuff, but as long as you participate he's cool.

I cannot stress how wonderful it is to learn under Mr. Long. He gives you every opportunity to succeed in his courses and is very patient when explaining material to students. If you are looking for what a math teacher should be, then I highly recommend attending his lectures. His courses are not for the math weary however.

Best Math Professor on campus, took him twice once for algebra and the other for trig and would take him again. Very clear & understandable. very helpful and explains things multiple times so you understand & remember. Tests are fairly easy & gives points for attendance & homework to balance out any bad test scores.

Im not good in math at all! and stat came really easy to me thanks to him. He made the class enjoyable and easy to understand and if you didnt get it the first time he will go over it all again for you. great teacher!

I took him during summer. At times he went fast but if you told him to slow down he was more then glad. He was also available during his office hours to answer questions. He has 5 test + the final with one of the 5 dropped. Homework and attendance are part of your class grade, it's a win win. If you can't make it to class or do hw don't take him!

took this in summer. For test3,the class average was very low,so he gave us happy quiz + 5 questions to be re-do on test4(very nice of him).The materials are not easy,SO STUDY. Do ur homework and go to class daily. Total of 3-4 happy quizzes,6 tests (drop1 lowest grade),average an A and you'll exempt his final.This man does cares about his teaching

THIS GUY is absolutely great! If you pay attention, take a few notes, and do your homework (to an extent), he'll slip in some humor and let you skip the final too! He will also mention formulas or techniques that you will use in later courses. I always suggest him to anyone considering taking Pre-Calc and Trig in one course.

Makes every attempt to make the material interesting. Extremely clear about how to tackle the problems with the theory used and not just "Memorize this because I said so" If I had a teacher like Mr. Long for every math subject in high school, I wouldn't have even needed to take this class in the first place. Will definitely get him for Calc.

@USFSP Professor Long is almost too smart to be teaching PreCalc. He likes to see his students learn and laugh. Attendance is required (it adds to your grade). He will try to make calculus apply to your life as much as possible. Like math? You'll love Tony Long. Hate math? You'll love Tony Long.

Good teacher. Works straight from the book, so the notes aren't completely organized. Tries to make everyone laugh. Class goes rather slow, but he'll explain things if you need it.

Do yourself a favor and sign up early so you have the opportunity to take prof long for all of your math classes. His classes fill up fast. He speaks very clearly and knows a lot about math, and he is able to use his communication skills to transfer his knowledge to his students efficiently and with a sense of humor.

I took liberal arts math at USFSP and actually enjoyed the class. The class was made for those who struggle with math and he felt my pain. Super clear and he made the tests easy by taking questions straight from the notes/worksheets! Recommend.

I failed this course prior to having Professor Long, and his class made a world of difference. I definitely suggest taking him for any math course you have to have. He tried to keep things interesting and was always open to questions. I'm sad he doesn't teach Calc at USFSP, only SPC.

I had Prof. Long for Statistics...boring subject, but he made the class fun. His ultimate goal is not to have to make a final for a class so he does whatever he can (within reason) to help you get an A. No homework, you get 2 points/day for showing up, and he drops the lowest test grade. Wish he could teach all my math classes!

Took Stats online. GREAT teacher. Subject IS hard, but the tests are similar to handout and quizzes. I give the professor a in easiness; however, Statistics is NOT easy and you DO have to spend a lot of time learning concepts, ideas, formulas, etc. If you put time into the class you can get an A. I finished with 100%, and I hate math.

He truly is a great prof! I had him for int algebra and loved him. Everyone does! He is very clear, allows u to exempt exams if you have A average. I am not at all a good math person, but I LOVED his teaching. I truly wish I could have him for every math class!

Taken his class 3 times in a row. Precalc/trig combo, Calc 1, Calc 2. He genuinely wants everyone to do good and understand. Lets you drop your lowest test grade, and you can exempt the final with an A average. Gives extra credit quizzes. If the majority of class misses a question on the test he usually gives everyone the points for it. Great Guy!

I took this class online during the summer. He was very clear and tried to be as helpful as possible. He curved the finals and dropped a few of the lowest quiz grades. He requires discussion posts, but they're really easy. I would suggest, though, that because Statistics is not exactly an easy subject, you should take it during a regular semester.

If you have to take higher level mathamatics courses (Calculus I, II, or III), this is the guy you want. There is no way you can fail this class unless you just don't care. He will do anything and everything to see each student successfully pass his course, preferrably with an A. The best part about him; HE CARES.

Incredibly good at explaining concepts. Excellent pacing, despite the class being taken over the summer semester. Willing to go the extra mile to make sure you understand something. Tests are difficult enough to ensure you know the material, but occasionally he'll throw you a bone. Overall, best math teacher I've ever had.

Tony Long is the best! Take his class! I had him for calc 1 and 2. I found the pace of calc 2 in the summer way too fast for my ability...no fault of the professor. I got an A in calc 1 and a B in calc 2. Thrilled with my grades, the knowledge I gained, and with the chance to have such a great professor! :)

If it wasn't for Mr. Long, I wouldn't like math as much as I do now. Although I ended up with a B in the class, his tests CAN be easy if you consistently practice - he stresses that. He's such a helpful person, so don't ever hesitate to ask him for help if you need it. He truly does care for his students :)

Prof. Long is one of the best teachers I've ever had. I would take him for every math class I have to if I could. He's very knowledgeable and a gifted teacher. Homework was optional for this course, but if I hadn't done it I would not have passed for sure. He lets you drop one test, and exempt the final if you have an A.

I recommend taking in class. ONLY because there is more wiggle room with your grade. Online is easy, but midterms and final can damage your grade. He is the best math teacher , Easy A if you study. He tries his best to help you in and out of class. He is also funny. The examples he gives in his notes are just like the test question. Great course! Took calculus spring '14 and it was hard at first. Four chapters to go over in 4 months, ch 1 and 2 are hardest(most time consuming). Online class was great, allows for review of material during quizzes-I didn't need much tutoring, final is proctored so beware, 30% of your grade. I'm 30 and passed this course after no math since 19.

I recommend this teacher. He does a lot of notes but he also bases his tests off the notes. If you study, you will pass. He has a lot of time put aside if you need to see him before or after class. He gives 5 tests and a final. If you want a funny teacher and one who is passionate about you learning. Take him! You won't regret it.

Oh my god. I took Calculus I after 9 years out of school (took the course online). All can say is study study STUDY! I spent 3-4 hours every day (m-f) studying and doing homework. The course was not impossible, PROF Long was very nice and offered a make up for one chapter test. No midterm, final only. You don't have to ace final to pass the class.

Best math professor EVER! Extremely helpful. Thoroughly explains material. He posts the notes online and the tests are straight from the notes. Super funny. Kind of reminds me of Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory. I seriously want to take every class he teaches!

I dislike math to the max... Long is an awesome teacher and probably the only good one at USFSP! He is a lenient grader on his exams and loves partial credit. You have to do the homework if you want to do well on the exams. He gives a lot of exam problems during lectures so going to class is a must. Would take him again and recommend him!

I took him online and he is awesome. Statistics is a hard subjects on its own but he made it simple to understand. Handouts with every lesson. You have 2 weekly quizzes and a discussion post. You get 2 tries on the quizzes and they're the same questions. Midterm and final are a tad hard but if you study you will do great. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Fun &smart guy. Actually made learning statistics fun and relatively easy. Homework was assigned but not graded. Book is used. 5 M.C. tests with a chance to opt out of final for some people. He gives extra points for coming to class and posts his lecture notes in Angel. I really like this guy and wish I could take him for my other math classes.

I took calculus online with professor Long, we used MyMathLab and it was fantastic. Questions are strait forward, and for someone being horrible at math, I actually passed calculus. The final exam was hard, but he really wants his students to pass and gives many opportunities. I will absolutely recommend this teacher.

Very knowledgable on the subject. Teaches you what you need to know, straight to the point. The way he presents the lecture gets everyone on board. I used to hate math, but not so much any more. You do have to show knowledge of what was taught. No surprises on test. Awesome personality

Professor Long is a great teacher. He really breaks it down for you and will help if you need it. Every week there is a test online, not timed, 2 attempts. And a discussion post. Took at USF. 5 exams and 1 final,1 exam is dropped. Most tests are from examples in class and sometimes he teaches a different method than the book. You must memorize a lot of formulas and trig stuff (exam 2 and 3). No calculators allowed. He does give partial credit on exams and if you work hard you will succeed. Very nice teacher!Would take again

I am back in college after 22 years and had to take statistics for my BSN. Wasn't looking forward to it, but Prof Long made it enjoyable. I tookthe blended class which was one day in class and the rest online. I had a hard time grasping some things, but when I was in class he made it all make sense! Gives 2 chances on every quiz and takes the better grade. Even the midterm we got a second chance on. He is very helpful and forgiving. I defininitely reccommend his class. I found him on this site and decided to take his class versus one closer to me. I drove 35 miles and would do it again!

Professor Long is hysterical, gives amazing out of the box examples, and is an all around fantastic teacher. In trigonometry we have 4 tests and he drops your lowest score. If you maintain an A average you don't have to take the final exam and there is no midterm. He posts all of his notes online and will outline what is going to be on the test.

Mr. Long helped ease me back into doing math after 8 years. He really, really cares if you actually understand the subject matter and will work with the class until everyone gets it. Beware the pop quizzes--if a bunch of people leave early he will probably give one. I hope I get to take more of his classes in the future.

I LOVE the way Mr. Long teaches and his intensely positive demeanor! He is hands down the BEST math teacher I'v ever had! He makes challenges fun! I just down know what else to say to convey how much of an impact he's had on my vision of math! I really hope there are more teachers like him and he's a great person who is absolutely dedicated!

Statistics as a general rule isn't easy nor fun. Professor Long was very responsive and very helpful. He does everything he can do to help you get through the material and do well. I had to study my butt off as math isn't my favorite class but Professor Long makes it bearable. It is a tough course to take online as you are teaching yourself.

I can hardly speak highly enough of Mr. Long. His passion is contagious and he wants everyone to succeed. He is patient, hilarious, exceedingly knowledgable, and he is kind. Thank you so much for an excellent semester; you're an inspiration, sir. (Oh - and early on, when he suggests you begin memorizing the trig functions, do it. I wish I had! ;)

Look, math isn't easy for everyone. You have to study, and do the homework. Tony provides great literature and materials to make that possible. Figure out a schedule, stick to it and do your homework. You get two attempts to pass tests, but the midterm and final are proctored. You can take a half page of notes. He is very helpful via email too.

Online course, used MySTATlab. I love this professor, took him for Calculus (I'm 31, that terrified me). I passed with a B, and got an A in this course. There is a bunch of study material, helps to like math. When I was confused, I just emailed him and he was back within 12 hours. Very clear and patient. 2 proctored exams, beware. Studying is req.

Uses MyStatLab for homework and quizzes. This is unrelated to the tests. There are 2 tests: midterm and final which are 60% of your grade. Fortunately, Prof. Long gives sample tests which are EXACTLY like the real thing. Easy A. The only downside is the necessity to do the weekly discussion boards with "Answer to your colleague" part. Hated it.

Professor Long is a fantastic teacher. Every class you can tell just how much he loves the material he teaches. I would recommend him to anyone who either loves math or anyone who really wants to learn math. Overall 10/10, can't wait for Calculus 2!

The best Math instructor you will ever have. He is always available to give help, is funny and makes the math make sense, gives plenty of extra credit when needed, and does everything he can to help you. I cannot think of a better person/instructor with a better style.

The one thing that sticks with me about how Long teaches: when one of his made-up examples ended up being the same as the book's, he apologized profusely. Very enthusiastic, very caring professor that won't hand you an A but sets you up for it. 6 tests, lowest dropped, final replaces 2nd lowest. He turned an 8am Calc II class into something good.

I admire and respect Prof. Long. Very knowledgable professor. He is good at explaining but he does move fast because he expects students to have good foundations. If you are shaky on foundations, he can help but he does not enjoy so, to put it that way. His teaching style is not my favorite but he is a bit above average, so not a bad one.

Professor Long is one of the most incredible instructors I've ever had the pleasure of taking. Math wasn't a strong suit of mine but he has truly made me fall in love with the subject... He is very invested in the success of his student's. Best advice; As long as you come to class and pay attention to his lectures you will definitely get an A.

Professor Long is by far the best professor I've ever taken in college! He is always available for assistance and teaches his students how to understand problems any way possible. Test are multiple choice for the most part. Very clear during his lectures. If you don't study for this class, you will NOT get an A, but could possibly slide with a B. No final if you already have an A in the class.

Lectures are clear cut with lots of notes, no mandatory homework (but if you don't do it you will not pass). Professor Long always photocopys the notes for anyone who may need them. Gives great explanations, and is always there for help such as after/ before class, or in his office. Best math teacher I have ever had!

I took a different Statistics course and got a D as my final grade (the second lowest grade I have ever gotten is a B, so I was devastated). I saw Professor Long's course and knew I would pass this time. He gives the easiest lectures and doesn't make things complicated. I am not excellent at math, but he made it one of the best classes I have had.

Coming from a student who has failed every math class she's ever taken, professor long is literally the math professor I have always wanted. He's straight to the point, cuts out a bunch of useless stuff you'll never need, and tells you everything that you'll be seeing on a test. LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Wish i could take this man for every class!

This professor is awesome! He gave the students every bit of material to be successful. He was also very frequently available in his office for extra help. 10% for participation, 5 tests (one of which is dropped), and one cumulative final which may be exempted if your average test grade is an A. Definitely recommend this professor. Great class!

I hate math - He is a good professor because he is quick to email you back. There are clear due dates as long as you do the homework you won't hear from him and should receive a good grade. I would take him again no complaints

If you fail this class, choose a major that doesn't require this class, seriously. Do you need to do the hw? NOPE! I didn't buy a book. Study the notes and you'll pass. I didn't do any homework. I just reviewed the notes on the day of the test. An A is highly possible with more effort. Doesn't use MML!! Quizzes are there to help your test grade(s).

HW not graded. Such a great professor. Probably one of the best professors I have ever had. Explains everything so well! Definitely would recommend.

If you must take a math class register for Professor Longs class. He uploads notes taken during class, that will be much better than your notes, so if you miss a class, you wont be completely lost. Homework is recommended but not graded, the book is not required. Bonus (not-so-pop) Pop Quizzes are included in attendance and participation grade.

His grades are based on 6 tests, plus the final. He drops the lowest test grade, and you can exempt the final, so if you ace the first 5 tests, there's no stressing over the last two. There are few pop quizzes, but they serve as extra credit. Definitely need the book to study. Lecture notes always posted online, but better to be in class.

If you are not good at math you will find that Long goes at a very fast pace, although he is the best calc professor offered. Class is definably doable if you study THE RIGHT WAY (notes & CERTAIN HW problems) don't do all assigned (pointless & irrelevant). He is very understanding & near the final he feels gracious & throws out points.

Professor Long is good at explaining things if you don't understand everything right away. The only complaint I have is that he NEVER responds to his emails in a timely fashion which is important to me but it might not be for all. I would recommend him but make sure to stay on top of your work, there are things due all the time.

Mr. Long is an AMAZING math teacher. I have NEVER done so well in a math class. He explains everything well and his notes are easy to follow. Show up to class you get points. Put your name on your exams and you get points. His final was exactly what he went over and some of the problems were even the same. He shows you how to use the calculator too

Didn't require discussions, homework was extra credit, gave quiz questions before each quiz with the answers worked out afterwords, and his provided notes contained all the info you need. For most of the class you just have to remember which test to run on the TI-84. He couldn't make it easier without giving you the grade.

Professor Long made taking Statistics online during the summer a breeze! The way the course is set up is very straight forward and you can tell he wants his students to succeed. I purchased the online code for this class and did not need the traditional textbook. Homework is extra credit, but must be done in order to keep up and do well.

Mr. Long was an amazing teacher! I wish I could've had him for all my math classes, he explains things so clearly, adds humor, and encourages questions. He truly cares about his students, and will help you in any way he can. He is an amazing professor and anyone considering him should definitely take him over anyone else, you'll really learn!

This guy is amazing. Ginuwine is a understatement for what he is, his primary goal is to make sure you understand the material unlike other professors. If you have a 90 or above after the 5 test you dont have to take final, which pushes you to want to get an A! He will go above & beyond with helping you. Never met a professor so caring. TAKE!!

He is the best

YOU have to put time into learning the material/coming into classroom hours to pass this class. He does plenty of problems in class but not graded Homework or youtube videos are a must. He uploads his handwritten class notes online I print them out. He stops and fully explains any steps you ask of him+he is really caring. I Almost W but passed. :3

I'll just leave it at this proctored midterm and final is worth 70% of your grade. Gives you very LITTLE wiggle room. Lots of h.w and quizzes you need to keep up with and a test is given every other week. Would not recommend at all. Thank me later.

If you don't get a question right on the mystatlab there is a button that says SIMILAR QUESTION or HELP ME SOLVE THIS. If you don't take advantage of this, then you're the reason for getting anything lower than a B. You have to find the balance between his notes and the textbook for what makes it easier, and the youtube videos help.

Alright, Tony is very passionate about Math. He's smart and knows what he is talking about. His lectures are pretty much everything on the test but doesn't show examples. You have to study and understand the concept to do well. I think he is great teacher, but doesn't make the class easy. If you don't study and ask questions, you won't do well.

Great professor, but you must put the time in and study to do well. He does lots of examples during lecture and posts all of the notes online. The only grades in the class are based on the final, four tests, and attendance, but he will let you drop a test grade and exempt the final if you maintain an A. Highly recommended.

He tries his hardest for his students to understands... he would even allow reviews before the test... attend all the classes even though he uploads his notes its way better in class because he gives you detail by detail great teacher to learn from he is very passionate about math and is more then willing to help you!

Math is not my strong point, but I passed with a B. Just make sure you give yourself PLENTY of time to do the mathlab work. He grades things like test reviews, so, do them. He drops your lowest grade, & students are allowed to miss 1 quiz & 1 test without hurting your grade. He also accepted work until 8am Monday instead of 11:59 Sunday. Great guy

I took Prof. Long 3 years ago for my calculus, I am finishing my engineering degree next semester in another school and Tony Long got me ready. I learned calculus well from him. Take him if you want to learn, also make sure you ask him questions. Great professor and person.

This guy is who you want to take for Calculus + Diffy Eq. Writes out everything in class, scans it, uploads it. Clear speaker + writer, truly cares, very welcoming, easy to ask Q's to. Makes a difficult subject crystal clear. Drove an hr to class for him. Took him for blended Pre-Calc+Trig class, Calculus 2, and Differential. #1 professor I've had.

You can tell he has a passion for his job, which is inspiring. He is great with teaching concepts and doesnt discourage any kind of questions! There are 6 tests and weekly hw assignments which are easily manageable. Midterm and finals are 30%.

Dr. Long is amazing. You definitely have to study for his exams, but he makes his expectations very clear. Calculus is a very hard subject. I went to tutoring many times to learn the material, but Dr Long is very caring and he wants all of his students to pass. A great instructor overall!

Super easy online class. Helpful videos and notes and easy to get in touch with the professor if you need a little extra help. I absolutely hate math but thought this was very easy to keep up with, especially while working full time.

He's very very very good at explaining math, after almost failing a math class, I took his class, and my grade improved so much since I was able to understand the material. If you don't understand he's available after class to help, he's very patient and will try another method until you understand without making you feel bad.

Dr. Long is a great and caring Professor. I took him for Business Calc and he was very accommodating with due dates. Overall Calc online is not for me. I think I would've been better in an in person class. There were a 6 proctored tests that account for 40% of your grade for the semester so get ready for that. Definitely would take him again
