Excellent Prof. for the Subject

Very passionate about economics which can be a very boring subject. He is enthusiastic and motivating, study hard though.

hard subject to understand, but he tries very hard to make it as easy as possible.. very enthusiastic.. you'll need to STUDY lots!

One of my all time favorite teachers. Gives lots of extra credit. VERY enthusiastic and sometimes funny. As long as you show up to class almost every day you will get a good grade.

Tony O is the best teacher for this subject. He's genuienly interested in the subject and has lots of energy and it shows.

FOI was horrible for almost everyone, but I had TonyO. Although I didn't like the class, I made a great friend in the faculty, which has come in handy for recommendation letters and general advice. He's very fair, honest, and in-your-face.

The class itself is pretty difficult, but Tony O tries his best to make it easier. He is really fun and makes you want to come to class, as dumb as that sounds.

OMG WAS THE BEST TEACHER I EVER HAD

Tony O is awesome! Any teacher that swears a lot and makes class interesting is good to have. He offers a lot of extra points if you go to class and you don't even need to read the book to do well in his class.

Great lectures

If you can take him!!! I LOVED THIS CLASS he is such a great teacher and actually makes you want to come to class. Offers Extra credit and you don't have to take the final! Take Tony-O!!!

Tony O. is a great teacher. He can actually teach without forcing you to read the book-in fact he suggests you don't even buy it. If you go to class (which he makes super fun), you have to do no work outside of class. Its sad that hes retired-but for him that just means he can say whatever he wants!! Take him!!

The information in this class is a lot to take in, but Tony O tries his best to get the point across. He gives bonus quizzes every Friday, provides previous tests for studying purposes, and is enthusiastic about Economics. He also tries to relate his examples to things college students are interested in, such as beer and sports. AWESOME professor!

Tony O is a really great guy. You can see his passion for teaching every day of class. He is very funny and intelligent. He tries to make this difficult class as painless as possible by giving extra credit quizzes and putting up tests from years before. A lot of those test questions are word for word on his exams. Defefinitely would reccommend him

This guy has won a couple of teaching awards and it shows. One of the best. Not only is he a fun guy that gives lots of bonus quizzes, but he TEACHES you the stuff. I've been reading ahead in the text for my next econ class this spring and Tony O's lectures just keep popping up in my brain.

No homework. No projects. Extra credit quizzes every week. Multiple choice tests. PLUS, Tony O.'s humor and sarcasm. He has a stark, Queens accent..but he's from IL. Many jokes and much playfulness. The material is difficult, but he expains it in clear ways, and with additional "memory tricks". Take this course with Ostrosky!

Good Teacher

Definitely recommend him. For someone like me who has no interest in econ, he made it easier to understand.

Tony O. is AWESOME - he KNOWS what he is talking about! Weekly study sessions are so helpful. He keeps previous tests on online reserve - study these hard - many similar questions. He's good at keeping a serious and boring subject light and fun.

Very good teacher. Gives extra credit on every friday if you get 3 out of 4 questions correct with using books and friends. Repetitive teaching, but it helps you to understand it.

I FREAKIN LOVE HIM!!! BEST TEACHER EVER, sooo funny, even when hes not funny he still is! God Bless Amercia, this was a fun class.

Tony O. is THEE BEST teacher I have ever had in my whole life! He makes a confusing and boring subject fun! He makes you actually want to come to class. There is a lot to be said for a teacher who can fill an entire lecture hall for an 8 a.m. class even on Fridays. He gives you plenty of learning resrources. It's a shame he's retiring. :-(

This is hands down the most fun I've had in a class yet! Tony O makes it interesting. Test's are only hard if you don't show up. The hardest thing in the class is showing up! He offers 15 EC points in a class that totals 200 points. If you show up and take notes you will be guarenteed a B. If you study, god forbid, easy A.

This class can be easy or somewhat hard. Tony O is a great guy, and funny in his own way, but can get you confused if you let him. Suggestions for this class: Take good notes, goto the review sessions each week (if you can), and READ THE BOOK if you don't understand what he's talking about. Easy A or B if you can do these two or three things

One word: Awsome. Actually made me want to go to class. He is very clear in what he teaches and is very helpful at his review sections.

Very intelligent teacher with a sense of humor. He made the class very fun. He was very clear with the lectures also. However, since he is retired but still teaching, does not care about feedback from his students and refuses to change anthing he does in class. I would recommend him, and as long as you study and go to class, you should be fine.

BEST CLASS EVER. I don't understand how anyone couldn't find this guy entertaining. He kept me awake even on my gnarliest days. Taught the material well, a lot of repeating... which helps for the tests. Show up every class and, if needed, review, and you will get an A - just as long as you put in a little work and take some decent notes.

If I didn't have TonyO for this class I would have failed! He tries to keep you awake but hold on cuz this class is can be tough. The Tests are no joke, but he has old ones online you can see for review.

He is a great teacher...one of the best Ive had...GO TO CLASS...get ur free extra credit points on fridays...if u go to class ull be fine...DONT NEED TEXTBOOK he never uses...i havent opened it once

Best teacher yet 1st year. The man knows economics. Intelligent, goofy, crystal clear teaching of economics. Offers extra credit quizzes, optional review sessions, an optional final, 5 straight forward tests make up the entire grade. Absolutely NO NEED for textbook, do not waste your money on it!

Great class, I even use some of the things he taught me in every day life. just go to class and go over the parctice tests before test day

He is a great guy and keeps you entertained for sure. If you are an A student now and always pay attention to details be careful though. Test questions can be very simple for those who dont think, but for those that are use to putting in a lot of effort into thinking be careful. He can trick you if you actually think.

Tony O is the best teacher I have EVER had. Very enthusiastic, funny and interesting. He came out of retirement to teach us, and I assume he is going back to retirement, but if not....TAKE HIM. He's the best. Makes a tough class interesting and...kinda fun at times. I love Tony O.

Extremely passionate, exciting lectures. No projects or homework--simply 5 tests. Final is optional and replaces lowest test score, but its cumulative. EC quizzes on fridays (3/4 or better = 1 EC point; 15 EC total out of 200 point class). Take the practice tests on reserve. He makes Econ as understandable as possible. Highly recommend him

Tony O is the only ECO 105 teacher that actually explains the material so you can understand it. Definitely take him over any others! Very funny, polish, relates everything to booze! TAKE TONY O!

He is a very good professor and very passionate about what he does. He is energetic and knows his material well. His tests can be tough, so be sure to download his practice tests and do the extra credit quizzes. Overall, he is a great teacher.

Tony O. is an awesome professor. Even though I had no interest in taking the class (I had to), his was the class I looked forward to everyday. His lectures are interesting and humorous. Beware though, his class is not an easy A.

Tony O is the man. He will make it worth it to wake up at 8 AM, go to his class. This class is not a blow-off class. You must go to understand the material, because the book isn't easy. Extra credit quizzes every Friday make it easy to pick up points for a low grade. Don't memorize his old test on reserve! Know them!

Tony O. is the man, cool professor semi retired, doesn't give hard tests, lets you know whats on them if you go to class you have to be incredibly dumb not to get a good grade. Honestly if you just pay attention and take a few notes easy A. tells you whats gonna be on the tests through quizzes every friday, right from the test ez mode.

Tony-O is probably the best teacher i've had here. Don't waste your money on the book, and just go to every class and write down everything he does. He won't test you on anything he doesn't cover in class, curves the grade, and gives 15 easy attendance points. I can't see him teaching much longer, so you will be very lucky to get him!

This guy is awesome! The quizzes aren't always easy so be prepared to take them before you come to class fri/wed. The tests aren't bad if you really take time to study. Work hard on the 5 exams and you'll save the stress of having to take the final.

Tony O is the man! He knows everything about Economics. Class attendance is optional but you won't succeed if you don't go. Just five test and 15 bonus quizzes make your grade so study and go to class! Tutoring helps a lot. He goes fast so pay attention and you'll do well.

Tony O was my most favorite teacher at ISU thru my 1st 2 years. Very knowledgable and helpful. I wouldnt suggest missing class because he covers a lot. i never used the textbook but some people might find it helpful. I got an A by the exact number of points thanks to the extra credit quizzes every Friday. I would take him again if I could.

Its true what they say, Tony O is seriously the man. He is helpful in class and in office hours. He goes over and helps explain everything more clearly if your not understanding it. Go to class on fridays for the quizzes. They help your grade so much!

I agree with everyone else, Tony O is an amazing professor! Econ is a tough class, but he made it bearable. I had it at 8 am, and it was easy to stay awake. He's very energetic and loves what he teaches. Go talk to him in his office hours if you're having problems. GO TO CLASS! You can earn up to 15 bonus points, and the tests are only 40 points.

tony o is the best! he always talks about pizza and beer going well together and uses them in examples and he gets very excited in his lectures. he is very easy going and not strict. go to classes and it will be a cake walk

Tony O. was the greatest teacher I have ever had for any class. It's a shame to know he's retired but he is the one reason why I decided to minor in Economics. If every teacher were like Tony O, the entire world would just be a better place. God Bless America.
