that cool English accent is **hottttt***

he's cool, but the class is SO boring. out of a class of about 40, 10-15 showed up regularly.
klear, kind and koncise and helpful too ...
half the time he doesn't even teach math. he'll yak all day about how many apples it will take to fill up a classroom
this guy is sorta boring. tries to make funny comments, but ppl are usu not listening. he is easy and helpful.
i went to class once or twice and got an A-. he doesnt know what hes talking about most of the time.
for a math class, it's easy. he's funny and very helpful. boring but a good teacher. tries to help as much as he can. tests are like 15 questions long.
It is not bad... boring but important thing is to ask the teacher if you have questions. He'll help you! Easy class if you do all the work and ask questions that you dont understand.
Easy- I hate math and am very bad at it but he makes it fun and gives an average of 5 problems for homework so not a lot of busy work like other math classes. Got a B+ - great if you took remedial.
The subject matter is complicated, and I think this instructor does a pretty good job at breaking it down. The book is a must to do the assigned problems(he doesn't give many), but do them!! Also, always see him after class to clear any questions you have!
Easy money...just show up to class take decent notes, go home n do wut is bout 10-15 min. of HW and u r guarenteed to get A on his exams. Trust me this class suxs but will help out ur GPA.

Mr. Rowe is a real sincer guy. He knows his math and tried really hard to entertain his students, and there were times when he really was trying. The work isn't bad for non-math people and to get extra credit, take him out to tea. best moment. he flipped all of us off on the final.awesome guy cheers
Great professor, go to his office hours at least twice a month. He likes to see that you have an interest in the subject, it helps your grade, sit in the front row in class (helps your grade too). do all the hw problems, they are almost exactly like the tests and final! best physics professor!
Go to office hours, do homework and show up to class he cares and notices. He makes physics barable and has a good humor. I was pleased to end up with him as a teacher. Take him.
Nice guy. Easy class if you take notes/do homework. Most of the time he justs asks random questions about pictures in the book. Like, "Why do you think Socrates gets a stamp, but not Aristotle?"
Class is almost too easy. He omits most of the complicated stuff from the book and is more than generous with partial credit on tests. If you do the homework before he goes over it in class it's an easy A.
Intelligent person, attended Cambridge and teaches multiple subjects. Very easy quizzes/ tests; if you can explain the subject matter you can pass his tests. Doesn't take attendance, very laid back. Highly recommended for math 255a
He was okay not the best teacher to have. didnt really explain ideas and material as clearly as he should have.
He is one of few great math professors in CSUN. His lecture is really smooth and easy to follow and understand. As long as you have certain confidence in math, you will pass this class at a breeze.
This is not a hard class if u do the hw, take notes, & understand the concept. He gives 3 midterms, quizzes, hw, & a final. So keep up w/the work. He's very nice, but yet the lectures are boOoringggg.
Easy. HW is never collected --- you can do it for extra credit, but that's it. I love it. He curves like hell too --- 50% = C for the last midterm. He's a nice guy who's willing to help you in a nice manner, that's if you need it. He makes everything simple.
Excellent math teacher. Goes completely off of the book, but very helpful at explaining the material. Gives hints and such to help you remember. His curve is very nice, as well as him overall as a person. One of the best math teachers i have taken
He is the best math teacher. I think he should teach all the math classes. I learned alot in his class. i didn't study alot out side of the class. I learned everything in class. he is very clear. He likes all his students. He says funny things when he teaches and when you tak a test you will remeber all the things because he makes math very easy.
Probably the second best math teacher on campus. First would be Siderow. Anywho, he goes ove things untill you understand them. He's very clear about things. Funny sence of humor. And his tests arent too bad either. Easy A if u study.
I hate math but his lectures are extremely clear. He goes over anything you want to go over. Just attend every class do his homework and you'll pass. His methods of learning certain things help a lot.
This math teacher is tight! I didn't take any notes. I just did the math hw for extra credit & studied off the book. I didn't even pay any attention in class. His test are fairly ez if u study really good & know ur subject. He's nice & helpful. I didn't really attend any of his class meetings unless it's midterm/quiz day. I got a B.
I didn't really like this teacher. he wasn't very clear...and if u asked a ? he sometimes wouldn't answer what u wanted to know...he was very boring too...and one more thing he's always licking his lips...ha ha...very annoying
After taking math 102... twice!! and trigonometry at a DIFFERENT SCHOOL, cause I gave up on the teachers that can't teach for****. I mean they know what they're talking about, just can't teach it...I decided to take Math 255A back at CSUN, and I was fortunate enought to have dr. Rowe. He made me like Math again. Best math teacher I've had yet!!
Easy class, cool teacher.
Very easy class, he is very clear and helpful. will go over something 20 times for everyone to understand.
Easy class, great teacher!!! lets u watch tv instead of doing math
Highly recommend. Very clear. Makes sure everybody understands the material before he moves on. Only tests what you cover in class. Generous w/ grading. Tests are rather easy. Definatly take this professor. If you have half a brain, you should have no trouble earning at least a B- in his class.
he knows what he's talking about and is clear, but he's just way too slow and boring. spends way too much time on homework even if it's easy. u dont learn much, so if ur taking math 255b, it might screw u over
I took trig with him, he is a nice guy and I love his accent. He teaches well and the tests are not hard if you do the homework. He is very funny, and homework is not collected but if you turn it in at the end of semester he will give you extra credit. Good professor, I would recommend him.
if you've taken up to calc in high school, oh heck yeah, math102 is easy, even if you don't remember much of the stuff before calc b/c you basically review the old stuff throughout the entire semester. But it could possibly due to having a good prof like Prof Rowe. Good man. Encouraging and helpful. 2 quizzes, 3 midterms, 1 final. No HW.
If your class consists of a bunch of eggheads, there is no curve. Do HW, turn it in at the end of the semester for EC. Tests are not too easy, not too hard. He was supposed to give 7 quizzes thruout the semester, but he ended up giving us just 2. Some of his test dates are also unfair. Like we had a test right after thanksgiving(call me a baby)....
will go over anyhthing if you have questions. very nice and approachable. knows his material and tries to relate it to the sciences
the best math teacher in the world
BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!!...SO GREAT! ONLY 3 TESTS ( INCLUDING THE MIDTERM) AND 1 FINAL!...AWSOME! IF U DO SOME HW YOULL BE FINE!..HES A GREAT PERSON THATS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP!...TAKE HIM FOR SURE! HES A FUN GUY!
He's a really good teacher...he takes his time on his lectures and is a generous grader. He never collects the homework he assigns. He blurts out jokes randomly which are funny.
Dude likes Manchester United soccer team !! And orchestral music too - what kind of a math prof is that? Funny as hell with awfully nice British accent.
Great teacher, nice British accent. explains well, the midterms are easy, final was extra hard though. I missed half of the classes and still got an A in the class. Make sure to do the HW and you'll do well in class.
Easy if you understand everything....but if you just screw up in the class, that is your problem.
Coming out of a high school class with similar material I did not do too well. After taking Math with Professor Rowe I got an A. He explains everything clearly and answers your questions well. He's also funny at times which helps you pay attention. Doing the HW was helpfull as it helped me learn the material. Would take a class with him again!
BEST MATH TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD !!!!!
HE IS THE BEST MATH AND PHYSICS TEACHER AT CSUN!! HE TELLS YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO STUDY FOR, NEVER TRIES TO TRICK YOU ON TEST AND ALWAYS WANTS TO HELP WHEN YOU ARE CONFUSED! IF YOU DO THE HOMEWORK HE ASSIGNS, THEN YOU WILL GET AN A!
this is a simple as math class.Thank god bc otherwise math is not passible. Just be prepared to listen to him blabber on in that fake english accent he uses to impress people. He is clueless

i agree with u folks. very sloppy and not helpful, bad grader will take too many points for small mistakes. does not like student who participate in class he feels threaten. I hated him and his tests are very long and he knows that you have less time to complete the whole test. Please avoid him at any cost, unless he math is very easy for you.
what are u people talking about, this guy took off without grading our exams and we are having holds on our records and can't register for the 255b since he's in england and can careless about the consequences, if u get fin. aid you're stuck too as there is a missing grade.take him if u don't mind such a guy who put his bus. 1st and screw up student
Great teacher! Has a british accent, but that shouldnt be much of an issue. Goes over all the hard types of problems to make sure everything is well understood. Makes sure students get enough study time. I recommend. If you need the college algebra book, i'll sell mine for cheap ([email protected])
terrible. he explains concepts 3 different ways and they are all over the place. he confuses himself when lecturing! do not take this professor.
he's kool, i love his british accent, but just make sure you know how to work the problems, but he's fun and gets the class involved, i like him!
I really enjoyed his class. Although I learned more from the SI class that I took alongside with it... he was VERY lenient with grades. Curved on the tests and extend homework dates a lot. He's also available when you have trouble with homework and he responds pretty quickly. I recommend him!
All I have to say is if I don't pass this class, it is all on me..not him. Out of all the math classes i've attempted and failed and dropped over the last 4 years, I wish I had known about this one so I could have avoided all of that. We had fun, it was easy, and he's a very down to earth teacher. Never knew I could enjoy math again :-)
One of the best math professors at csun. Go to clas everyday and do the assigned homework and you will do good in the class.
Lecture consists of my him reading and copying the book, which is not a bad thing actually. exams are mostly from HW. he is a picky grader. i can't say i've become great at physics after his class but i got a very good grade. weekly online HW takes hrs to complete.
GREAT TEACHER! NOT TOO EASY BUT NOT HARD AT ALL! DOES GIVE HOMEWORK BUT ONLY TURN IT IN AT THE VERY END OF SEMESTER FOR EXTRA CREDIT IF YOU WANT! FAIR GRADER! VERY CLEAR VERY UNDERSTANDABLE VERY NICE! 3 TESTS AND ONE FINAL. WILL COUNT YOUR LOWEST TEST GRADE AS LESS TOWARDS FINAL GRADE. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN!
Highly recommended. It's easy to pass if you do all the homework.
Spends WAY too much time on each topic; TOO easy to the point that it is annoying. Stopped going to class, but did the homework the night before each test and passed them all. Lowest grade C highest A. HW is extra credit at the end of the semester. If you want a challenge, do not take this class. Otherwise, it could not be EASIER.
He teaches right out of the book giving you the formulas you need in the easiest way to understand. His online HW is fair and his exams are is HW. Very fair professor and one of the few who makes the subject sensable and simple.
This is a GREAT class for "us" who are mathematically challenged. Need help in getting past basic math... this is the class to take. Attend classes, do the homework & participate & you'll do well. Keep an open mind & drop the right of entitlement attitude & you'll do well. PS: Cool British accent! Bip Bip!
Very approachable and clear teaching style. Physics is not an easy subject and he makes it possible to get it. He's a credit to his department and to the school.
Rowe is the man. The best math teacher I've ever had. I'm usually bad at math, but he really explains things in a way where you can understand. The guy is freakin hliarious too. It's still a tough class and you really need to study and do the HW if you want to do well. I would take him in 104, but my schedule doesn't allow it. Dang!
Rowe does not take attendance and is a not very clear during the lectures. Lots of homework and collects it at the end of semester for extra credit. Just humor him and you'll win him over (most people are rude to him)
Nice teacher, very informative and goes at the class's pace. He is considerate, knowledgeable, and probably the best Trig teacher on campus.
Take this class.you wont regret it.i don't understand anything about physic and i got a good grade.he is one the easiest physic teacher at csun. 2 tests and a final and online hw. all the test come from the hw questions.
Amazing teacher! Great class!
Mr. Rowe is awesome! He's funny but because he goes at such a slow pace it's kind of boring. But the slow pace is great because he made physics really easy. Easy A!
British Accent! Really Funny! Clear as can be. Do HW and you'll pass. What he goes over in class is what is on the exam! Take him. Great Professor
This guy is the Phill Jackson of teaching. Hes that good.
Webwork (online homework) was useless to study on for the tests. The best thing to do before a test is to look at the problems in the book since he gives u a sheet of what problems to practice on at the beginning of the semester. He's a great teacher and explains everything.
Took him for trig and physics and gotta say this guy is the best at in the math/physics faculty CSUN that I have experienced. If you are struggling he takes the time to work it out with you and genuinely cares about his students which is nice for a change.... Bottom line: Take him, you wont be disappoint
he's okay but there are better professors. got a B. do all the homework, pay attention in class and take notes. i dont really recommend him.
Online homework (masteringphysics) may take awhile, however his midterms and final are from the homework so you'd know what to expect. Very approachable, answers questions thoroughly, and he has a British accent!
This guy is amazing! Gives a lot of examples, works out difficult problems from the book and homework. The homework is kind of pointless in terms of helping you study but its an easy way to earn points for the class. Tests are easy, grades fairly. Got an A in this class and will take him again if I have the chance!
absolutely adore this man! love his accent and his class! loves his students, and reinforces the previous things he taught EVERY single day... He is amazing..... if i could i would take him for every class at CSUN
He is the greatest teacher ive ever had at CSUN. The tests were easy and almost exact problems from the book. His teaching style is easy to understand and likes to crack jokes. its hard not to laugh at his British accent, but over all a great teacher
Amazing professor at CSUN, if anyone tells you there is an easier physics professor, they're wrong. This guy will help you understand everything you need to know about physics, even with his accent. He might look like he just use examples from the book, but when you visit him during office hours, he turns out to be one of the smartest people @ csun
Easy enough class, I suppose. He's a nice teacher, very helpful. He jokes quite a bit, which is great. Uses visual aids and stuff. His midterms were similar to the homework. A third of the final was conceptual physics, so prepare for that.
i was in remedial math and everything he taught us i dont remember learning it in elementary school or middle school. He is a GREAT teacher. His accent is British and it is pretty is to understand. He is very helpful. Gives many examples. Go to class every day& do homework I RECOMMEND him. Im glad i got him for my first semester for freshmen year
Really nice person in general but a HORRIBLE professor. He cant teach. He is so concerned about makin sure he goes through all the material even if we dnt understand it. DO THE ONLINE HW, it helps sooo much. Go to tutoring with the HW. Study groups are great and he doesnt take role so many of us dnt show up the class b4 a test so we can all study
As far as math 103 goes, he wasn't very helpful. He rushes each section by just going through the motions and not clarify. Gets irritated when you talk, so many of us never asked questions. But hes do able, just go to tutoring labs and take notes of the homework steps.
Do not take this professor. I came in with high expectations because of ratemyprofessor and he sucks. The one good thing is his tests are easy, if you can learn on your own, TAKE HIM! His tests are honestly a joke if you study, but if you expect him to teach you anything, good luck. I learned everything from study groups.
He really tries to teach but sometimes he can go fast because of the number of subjects to cover or can get sidetracked. Overall I thought he was helpful & willing to answer questions. He does get irritated when students walk out of class or talk loudly. Attendence not mandatory. This is Calc, so you should study nomatter the prof. Nice curve!
He just goes over problems in the book. Luckily mymathlab has example problems that's the only way I finished my hw. Doesn't really help you for tests. There not hard just a lot to review.
Simple, straightforward teacher. He's funny and keeps class relatively light. He breaks down concepts to basics so you can understand them, but sometimes he'll move quickly because time. DO MASTERING PHYSICS HW!! The exams are basically the same stuff. The wording may be changed, but the concepts will be almost identical. No real trick problems.
simple, straightforward class. he didn't try throwing any curveballs. i didn't go to class after 1st midterm and still got an a.
Best math professor ever. trust me, my reviews are the best. I am your average student and not some nerd that studies all day. Just study the book and hw and you will get a B or above. The final is hard though because CSUN makes it, but not that bad. Over all a good class.
The most amaziiiing math prof I've everrrr had! I've always been a B student in math, but have been ACEing in this class. I DID enjoy his lectures...just show up, do the HW, A is gaurantee :) BTW love his accent and the jokes!
I really wanted to like him, but I'm not sure that I do. His tests are pretty much revised questions from mastering physics, so you have to do the hw if you want to get an A. I've asked him for help multiple times and he wasn't all that helpful. Most of the time I don't even think he understood my question. He's a nice guy though! British too.
His exams are similar to Mastering Physics HW so its important to do all those. He reviews 1 day before every exam & allows any questions asked. But he doesn't always finish his examples so you need to go hunting for them online. Has a very low grade scale but even then it's hard to get an A. Good teacher though. Really need to work hard here.
Very good professor. He's always willing to answer questions.Yes, he does have an accent but it's not hard to understand him. He tries to crack a joke or two every now and then which makes the class enjoyable. I would definitely recommend him.
Nice. attendance is mandatory if you want to pass this class, must actually do the homework and make sure you understand the concepts because the quizzes and his tests are similar, dont be afraid to ask him for help, he's a good guy and ok to get along. the only thing i didnt like was that once or two times, he couldnt get the class under control.
he is awesome!! take his classes!! his class is so funny. he makes everything easy to understand. he will explain every problem you have. tests are based on the homework. I only spend 2 hours every week to work on it and I get A on all the tests and final!!
Not helpful, somewhat funny, lecs a lot from the book. I found him awful for Math 102 and roommate found him awful for Math 150A in the same semester. I dont recommend.
Great teacher. He helps students a lot and gives very clear examples. Lectures are based on the book information but still good lectures. I love his sense of humor especially with his British accent.
Teaches directly from the book. The book is required every class meeting even though you don't do anything from it. Was ill prepared for the final even though I had a passing grade in the class, he didn't teach some of the things that were on the final. Don't take him unless theres no one else.
This class iS hard itself and you should be prepared to study A LOT but Pr.Rowe makes this class easier. He answers all questions and does the review one class before the test. All examples are from the book and questions on tests are based on HW. Don't miss the class if you don't want to fail! He also likes participation so do it!RECOMMEND!
TAKE THAT PROFESSOR FOR EASY A!!!! Study HWs' and review book examples you will get A's on your tests or your money back! Guaranteed!
Very helpful! Makes the class easy. He explains everything clearly. Do the homework and go to class for an A.
Rowe is a really good professor. He teaches clear and straight forward. He has an amazing british accent! :)
LOVE HIM. best math professor. Hes clear and you can tell loves the subject he teaches. Cracks small jokes which lighten the class. The way he explains things helps a lot too! So happy with this class and him
Nice man; very helpful.
Rowe is an awesome guy. He's really passionate about mathematical application. Super easy A but most importantly, I discovered my appreciation for calculus in his class!
Very god professor. He is clear during lecture, used the workbook all the time, and overall, he cares about his students passing. TAKE HIM! Best professor ever.
He is the best math teacher ever. He explained everything very well, and he always make sure that everyone is really understanding everything. Easy grader too! Exams are similar to his lectures and notes. Really cool teacher, I strongly recommend him. I just wish he teaches Calc 1, 2, and 3 :(
Awesome teacher, rated the easiness as 4 since some may not be as good at calculus than others. Great teacher, answers all questions clearly, tests are not too difficult if you study. I took calc in highschool so I got A's on every test without studying. Would reccomend this teacher if math is not your stength!
He is a great teacher. Tests aren't bad as long as you study. He shows every step of solving a problem; he's very thorough.
very nice teacher. tells you what will be on test and very easy
For the love of God, don’t take this class if you’re not straight out of high school algebra! I haven’t taken math in 10 years and I absolutely bombed the class even with the help of professional tutors. He doesn’t TEACH he just shows u examples and doesn't make u think. Expects student to magically understand material. No text only lab book.
Apparently, he's one of the best math professors there is and he is! He may expect for you to know some of the material but overall he's thorough! There is online hw+quizzes which are nowhere close to his actual exams (easy). Due dates are lenient. Study the examples you do in class and you will pass. I enjoyed his jokes and British accent :-) TAKE
Lectures feel so long and boring but only because he takes his time to make sure everyone understands the material. The online math assignment really do help you prepare yourself for the tests. Show up to class, pay attention, and you'll get an A.
I didn't learn from his lecture at all. Our lab instructor got more teaching skills than him. I manage to learned by reading the book and from the lab session. Our exam didn't relate nor give to any account with homework assignment, what a waste of time. Prepare to teach yourself or look for other option around. Good luck!!
You need to work for your grade as it is earned not given - have a spine and work for it also check your sniveling at the door. Therefore if you stay after class to clarify the material you will learn the material. Professor Rowe is crystal clear on what is to be done, how it is to be done, and when it is to be done - hence you have no excuses.
Physics is one of the hardest subjects to understand for reasons I do not know why as I used every method possible to learn the material. Including tutoring center and individual tutors helped. Professor does not give anything you earn what grade you receive as it should be. Professor is crystal clear on lectures and how to solve the material.
This was a very fair class. He assigns a good amount of online homework and as long as you understand how to do these problems, you will get a good grade in the class. I didn't go to class but you probably should because he explains all the concepts that will be on the exams. Exams are free response and he gives a decent amount of partial credit.
Professor Rowe gives clear notes, sometimes he skips some examples and sometimes those examples he skipped would appear on the quizzes or exams. He expects one to know many concepts and sometimes gets annoyed of people asking him to show them how to do simple concepts like synthetic division. Tutoring is recommended if you want to pass on 1st try!
Professor Rowe is the best math teacher I've had. The teacher makes a huge difference. His clarity is by far the best I've ever experienced. The way he teaches and the examples he uses helps students understand the material easier. He doesn't take attendance but I assume he is aware of who shows up to class & who also participates. Need book.
I took him last semester for Physics 100A and he was great. He does expect you to do homework in order for you to understand the material. If you do the homework on time and are able to understand most of it you should be fine with his tests and final. Theyre not hard but you freak yourself out because there are a lot of equations.
Very nice and funny professor. He makes sure the class understands the material. VERY CLEAR and does every problem STEP BY STEP. 3 exams and a cumulative final. Gives exam reviews a week prior which are very helpful. Exams are one Q from each section (about 9 Q's each exam). Final is 12 Q's. Exams are exactly like workbook. GREAT CLASS. TAKE HIM!!
Professor Rowe made physics easy to understand however the subject itself is not easy! There are only two exams so make sure you do okay on them. Final is hard but if you study your previous exams, class notes, and the homework you will pass. DO THE HW!! It will help you a lot since he gets the exam questions from there! good luck!
Test is tough.
Lectures are straightforward and are very easy to follow. Physics 1 is just mechanics and covers basic physics which should be fairly easy. The professor himself does many examples in class which show up on the exams. Goes from the book but the book is not mandatory. Homework is all done online via masteringphys
Had this professor for the second time, once in Pre-Calc and now in Physics. Awesome teacher for both subjects, classes are pretty relaxed. If you can do the HW you will easily pass the tests.
Great professor! He is very clear from the start as to what you will be required to do. Your grade is definitely earned not given. Attendance is not mandatory but will reflect on your grade. You miss one lecture and you risk being lost in a entire section.
Took this class for a second time because I previously failed 102. I can actually say I learned, and understood the material, and I finished the class strong. I appreciate him! Very clear teaching skills.
Good professor. Goes on a lot of tangents with theories and math, but he knows exactly what hes talking about. 3 exams, 1 final. A LOT of hw. Exams were tricky and a pretty intense grader. Overall a great math prof. It's not an easy subject to teach. Definitely curved.
He is hardworking and helpful. One of my senior told me " some math professors think that math is only one class you are taking in whole semester, so do lots of homework" . I spent 95 hours for online homework and extra 50 hours study in whole semester and got "B". I couldn't concentrate my other classes for 95 hours math homework. I learned lot.
Clear lectures, clear grading.
Very Good math teacher!! If you do not understand a word problem he will go over for you until you understand it. He cares that you know the lecture. Pay attention and do the HW and you'll do good on the exams .
Lectures every class, but usually lets students out early. 4 exams, no pop quizzes, you just have to know what you are doing and the tests are not that hard. He's funny and goes through every chapter precisely. Goes over a study guide he gives, every time before an exam. Would take again!
His class is pretty easy. Online HW is really easy. If you have an difficulty with his class, just go to his office hours and he'll show you step by step what to do.
Overall, I would say that this Professor is very good. I have always struggled with math but this class wasn't too bad. There are three exams and a final. He gives you review questions before each exam and it really did help me to well on the exams. Overall, I highly recommended Professor Rowe.
This professor is the best one I have met !!! His lecture is good and specific so that I can learn math easily.
He is so nice to help students review each chapter before the exam and he always spare one class before the exam to answer any question students have toward the reviewing questions he gave.
This professor is a hard-working person.
Prof. Rowe lectures are okay and he gives lots of homework help as examples but you should still read the textbook. His test questions are only word problems and not concept questions but it's important to understand what you're calculating. The class consists of 2 tests and a final with homework every week. Always group study!
Tony is a FANTASTIC professor. He always emails back within the hour and provided clear and helpful answers. Calc 2 is a hard class regardless but with Tony it becomes a lot easier. He also provides extra credit opportunities on tests and so I was able to pass the class with a 97%.
Tony is an awesome professor and he teaches the information so clearly. He also curves since physics can be hard for some people. Would definitely recommend!!!!
2 midterm tests, One final, & homework. Curves all tests if everyone does bad as a whole. Is a nice grader, gives lots of partial credit. Too smart for his own good, isn't mean but unintentionally might make you feel a little dumb at times. Generally nice. Terrible with names. Lecture is confusing, so teach yourself. All test Qs come from homework.
Genuinely a nice man, always trying to interact with the class. If you pay attention, getting an A will be easy. He gives partial credit for test questions. Strongly recommend him.
I would recommend Professor Rowe 100%! Out of all the math teachers I've had, he's one of the best by far. He's super funny, caring, and kind. He's accessible during office hours and will put in the effort to make sure you understand. Participation in class isn't mandatory but recommended. Definitely take his class!!
He is a very down-to-earth guy and always there for his students. Show up to his lectures, participate, and you will get a good grade.
Entertaining and funny guy. Lectures are very interesting, and he does not hesitate to review certain concepts if you ask. He does homework problems during the lecture and fully explains his thought process behind his solution. Homework and exams are very straightforward. He gives partial credit for exam questions that you might have gotten wrong.
Take him if you can, easy A!
There are lectures every meeting. There is also a lot of homework but it's really easy. There are 3-4 exams if I remember correctly and no quizzes. He is very kind and a great professor!
What he does is basically explain and show the formula from the slides, then He used some problems from homework as the example, so he can explain and solve with the formula that he taught. He posted up the slides without his written and uploaded live lecture video. There are 3 exams(online) with upload your own written paper and homework (online).
His lectures don't really help. What helps is his homework which is difficult, plentiful and time consuming. Grading is 25% homework and 25% for each exam. 2 midterms and the final. Professor is very approachable, kind, and patient. Great guy overall. Exams were taken on laptops in class, might be different for different semesters.
I had this professor for physics mechanics online in Fall 2021, and he was amazing to learn from. I enjoyed his teaching style and how he engaged with the class by connecting each topic with real life examples. Homework was a lot, but it definitely helped when it came to preparing for exams. I recommend taking this professor if you can.
He's an ok professor. The lectures have nothing to do with the homework or test. If you do your homework you will do fine on the tests. You won't learn much from him, but the homework is the biggest help. All the tests are online which makes it a really easy class.
Do not take him for any math class, he will not review anything and you will learn a new subject everyday! Whatever he teaches in class has nothing to do with the test
He was an okay professor. Be prepared to have a lot of homework and study, study, study. He is a very tough grader and sometimes his lectures could be a bit confusing. In the end, he did round up our final grade by a whole letter grade, so that is a plus.
Great professor who makes the concepts simple and teaches through a lot of examples (does homework problems for you sometimes). Subject is tough though.
Rowe is probably the best instructor I have ever had at CSUN. He explain things very well and does the problems with you. He tries his best to make his lectures interesting (sometimes they're boring lol). His exams could be difficult sometimes but if you do the review, homework, and study... you should be fine. Awesome, funny teacher.
Prof. Rowe makes Physics very manageable. He explains the examples and concepts very clearly and asks the class if they're understanding everything. The tests are really hard, but if you go to office hours afterward he will give a lot of the points back. I had a ~65% on an exam from some dumb mistakes and he bumped it up to an A lol
Professor Rowe was a good professor. It seemed like he was trying his best to teach us despite the difficulty of the class. He would go over many hw problems in class which made the tedious hw's a lot easier. His lectures were a bit boring, but the class was very difficult so it's important to pay attention. Attendance wasn't mandatory.
Hes a good teacher, just assigns a lot of homework on XYZ. He'll cover about 2 sections per class depending on how long they are. He explains math really well, but he gets caught up on "proving" a lot. Like, he'll show like 4 different examples of Desmos where he shows the same thing with different problems. Study for the tests. Get the book early.
I loved taking Professor Rowe's class! He made pre-calculus easy to understand, and he doesn't mind stopping to answer questions. Don't miss lecture-we cover a lot each day so it's easy to get behind. There are three tests plus the final. They're not too bad, the study guides line up perfectly with the test material. Take this professor!
This professor knows the material but does not do a good job in teaching it. Spends too much time going Overton at angst about ways to do a problem that are not going to be on the exam. Teach yourself in this class to pass.
Professor Rowe makes physics concepts approachable with plenty of examples and homework help. The workload is manageable if you stay on top of it. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for practice problems and exam prep.
One of the best professors I've had at CSUN! Attending the lectures is not mandatory, but attend! They're very helpful, and he covers a lot. He gives study guides before the midterms, and they're incredibly similar to the exam. 3 tips to success: participate in the lectures, do the homework, and study. Great professor. Great teaching methods.
Funny british man
The lectures were clear and he is more than willing to go over the material numerous times. The only issue is he sometimes presented processes that were difficult despite easier solutions being present. He does get upset when people fail to participate. There were multiple days leading up to the exams in which we reviewed the entire class period.
Tony is a solid professor who genuinely wants you to pass. Explains material clearly and uses Desmos frequently to help visualize concepts. The course is homework-heavy, so you need to stay on top of it, but the textbook is useful for step-by-step solutions. Show up to class as there is a 5% attendance bonus, office hours good as well but late.
He's a very nice professor, however the exams can be difficult if you don't study efficiently. Attendance counts for your grade, he uses iclicker to take it.
He's very funny and caring but his exams are a bit hard. Attendance counts for your grade
