Dr. Vega is very respectful to males and females. He is thte cream of the crop both intellectually and physically.

Great Professor, very hard class, and too many stupid people have to chime in with thier worthless two cents. Take this man if you want to learn something valuable!!

He knows his stuff but hard as hell.

One of the best profs I've ever had. The people ragging here likely never opened a book. If you want to learn, this is the guy. If not, stay away!

Dr. Vega's style and level of teaching prepared me for graduate school. OF COURSE HIS COURSES ARE DIFFICULT!!! He has to sort through students who want to learn and the ones who want to spend their lives on frat row.If you take him, be prepared to work.

yeah he makes you think about things and not just spit back notes. any idiot can do that. everything ive been taught in his classes i still know and that is because i had to learn it and not just memorize it for a test. that s what a true prof should do.

You get out what you put in! WARNING, you ACTUALLY have to WORK to LEARN the material! Dr. Vega knows his stuff, is always available for help, and is a dedicated professional. If you want to learn, take his class. If not, don't bother!

Dr. Vega wasn't a bad person, but his tests are seriously IMPOSSIBLE. I studied forever and ever and couldn't pass with more than a D. If you really understand E.S. or really like it this class may be for you, but if you don't, you should think about another prof.

I agree his tests were really hard considering it's supposed to be a BASIC course. But overall he's a cool guy. And ladies say it with me: TOTAL HOTTIE!!!

I think the tests were easy, if you came to class and paid attention. His jokes are funny if you are smart enough to get them. Maybe if half the class paid attention and didn't talk the whole time you could pass the tests. By the way a professor that curves the test by 20% sounds pretty cool to me!

Knew his stuff. Pretty good teacher and kinda funny. As always, look out for the weird kids who sit up front, they are what made the class crazy. Other than that, a little hard, but worth it.

I dont see what everyone is complaining about. I had Vega in spring of 04, and his class was not hard. Read the text, it helps, go to his office, it helps, go to class, it helps. If you pay attention, you are fine in his class. Makes you work for your grade though. 20% A range?? pretty sweet.

You learn alot in his class, his tests were easy if you knew the material, and i appreciated his humor. He is a great professor...plus hes freakin hot.

GOTO CLASS. and you'll do ok. his garding scale is 80-100 for an A, and all the notes are on blackboard... There is alotof material, but if yo go to class, and read the notes(don't need to take notes) a couple days before the test you'll be ok. if you miss class, its hard to understand.

his quizes kill..and im only in the second week of his class...dammmmmmmmmmnnn

dr.vega is an extremely good professor. yes his tests are rough but if you meet with him or let him know how you are doing he is a great help. he is very understanding and an extremely interesting man outside of class. i would suggest that you take any and all of his classes. i wish the best to him and his family especially after katrina!

While the class was pretty hard, if you just keep up with the work, you learn a lot and it isn't bad. He's not particularly sympathetic or anything, so keep on top of your own work and just do what is needed.

He is hard but you will learn alot.Quizes like every other class so just get use to it. Class itself sucks but do your work and you be fine

This class was enjoyable and made me feel like I was actually learning something, a feat that most classes here can't achieve. Everything on the tests is covered in class and all the notes are online. You really don't need a book for this one.

If you attend class regularly and pay attention you will do fine. You don't even need the book. I'm guessing the people who are writing all the negative reviews (which have words misspelled) received a bad grade in the class, but, if you can't spell correctly, how do you expect to do well in college in the first place?

Dude everyone who is saying crap about Vega needs to a) re-evaluate why they are actually at college or b) learn to appreciate good humor. As far as the actual class goes the material is interesting if you pay attention. If you have a substantial amount of brain matter you can understand the subject matter and it is actually interesting

I had him my freshman year for basic earth science and meteorology. He's a good teacher, knows what he is talking about but sometimes seems to forget that we aren't meteorologists. Go into his office if you need help a week or two before the tests...it will help so much! Tests are hard but if you study and read the lectures online you'll be fine

He seems like a nice guy, but he expects that students study on their own. My suggestions: go to class and write everything down. DO NOT wait to study the notes! He told us that, but I had to learn the hard way. My first test grade was 80 because of that. Read over your notes every day. I think this class if VERY interesting.

Dr. Vega is a really cool guy. He is interesting and funny and he does his best to relate to students. His tests are hard. I wish I had studied more, but that is my fault, not his. I would absolutely take another class with him if I could! He even offered to buy the whole class coffee(50+ students) during our last class meeting.

I really enjoyed having Dr. Vega in class. He has a way of relating complex subjects to mundane, every-day things and that really makes the material easier to understand. If I ever had a question I spoke with him during office hours and he was extremely helpful.

Lets be honest, the class is tough. You're only given 3 tests the whole semester, so you really have to work hard for the class. If you're looking for the "whats", and not the "Why/how" part of science, then this class isn't for you. Vega isn't a bad teacher, but he will push you to work hard. Overall, its a pretty decent class.

He only gives 3 exams & 1 powerpoint presentation that you have to do. Class attendance isn't mandatory. He's funnier than hell. He's super helpful too. If you're doing bad in his class don't panic, you'll pass. He makes sure of it, like he says it's just a letter not your life. Exams are hard, so be sure to study. Overall great professor!

Convinced me to switch majors

Dr. Vega is an awesome professor! I've taken pretty much all of his classes (he convinced me to get a geoscience degree!). If you don't understand something, visit him during his office hours, he's more than willing to help! Vega is super cool and has good taste in music :)

Glad I took his course. Even though I didn't switch majors to meteorology, his teaching and knowledge of weather and climate are second to none and convinced me I could have done it had I wanted to! Here's to Boudreaux and the 2 Liter of Coke we got from the Metric movement. :)

You WILL enjoy this class, it is one of the best classes I have ever taken at Clarion!

He is a good professor. Respectful of students and willing to help if needed.

His classes are difficult but, he give a lot of leeway on the exams and on the final grade.

Dr. Vegan is very passionate and clearly an expert in Earth Sciences. I learned a tremendous amount in his class. Online course, and much of his classwork is discussion boards participation. He posts a few questions, you answer them. Tests were challenging, but he grades very fairly. I thought he was cool guy.

A very very good prof who tries to get students to learn. If you think you will show up and do little to learn then memorize terms for an exam, take another prof. He knows his stuff and wants you to know it too, that is what college is. He will help you greatly, if you ask. Read, go to class and pay attention. But you have to work.
