She's a great teacher. Although she's young, she is very knowledgeable. I never cared about health science before but she made it very fun and interesting. If you're taking this class during summer or winter session you better keep track though because it is fast paced.
She's probably the best professor I've had so far. Very knowledgeable and very helpful. She gives you everything you need to pass the class and it's all very clear. I would definitely take this class again, or any class she teaches in the future. I wouldn't say the class is easy, but it's not hard as long as you follow the study guides!
not the easiest health class, probably one of the hardest teachers to teach this class.. very kindergarteny, but hard. She puts more anatomy in the class then health... wish I wouldnt have taken her.
This is a tough class. Though if you do the work, pay attention, take great notes, and use the study guides, you will pass. I learned a lot in the class, and had a great time. She is an awesome teacher, and is really fair. I would take her for other classes. If you are having a tough time, talk to her. She is really open to helping.
Very helpful, however her power point slides can seem like they go on forever, but they are very useful. Classes seem like they take forever but only meet once a week so its worth it. Overall, great teacher!! Thanks Dr. Huff!
just a difficult class, not a bad teacher though she helps if you need it. just be ready to be tested! difficult but "do-able"
Took Health 1 with her. Helpful and explains the material quite well. Overall she's a good professor. She's pretty attractive so I would let my mind wander in class.
Excellent teacher, seriously one of the best I've had in my history of attending RCC. She is very excited about the material and her excitement is contagious. It is easy to get interested in the subject matter with her analogies and anecdotes which relative. Most of all, does not tend to get sidetracked by student's stupid questions! Stays on topic
Dr. Huff is one of the best profs I've had! She made every lecture enjoyable and intresting. I would take her for any class that she is teaching.
I took health 1 in Fall 09, the class is hard just because of all the stuff t hats in there to learned but i loved the way she tough it, not with a bore, she was always excited and gives visuals too, not just pictures but actual life visuals. as long as you take good notes and follow the study guide you'll do fine.
She is a great and enthusiastic professor very professional and clear on what she expects from us. I never cared for biology, before her, now i am considering a minor in botany. She is very up beat has great teaching skills. Although the material in itself can be difficult she makes it easier and I highly recommend her.
Prof Huff keeps class very interesting. Class consists of in (grp)asgns, occasional hmwk, lecture (combo of powerpoint, videos, guest speakers), pop quizzes (4), & exams (closed-bk, last one is comprehensive). Read the chapters prior (there is a bk on reserve @ the library) to class, print out her lecture notes, attend class.
I love this teacher, she is literally my favorite teacher at RCC. She gives you the tools to do well in her class. As long as you come to class and try, you will leave with a good grade and mindful of knowledge. She makes hard subjects seem easy by breaking down the material. Nothing bad to say about Dr. Huff. Take her she's the best.
I never had any interest in biology before entering Dr. Huff's classroom but she really made the material fun while incorporating varying teaching styles. The lab seemed more difficult than lecture yet it only accounted for 40% of the total grade. I got an A in this class but it took some hard work and lots of hiking! :)
Basically, Huff knows what she's talking about. Its hilarious when kids try to test her knowledge. Do all your work and there's no reason why you shouldn't come out with an A. Don't spend too much time on the the textbook, but its essential to read the chapters assigned before lecture.
She is an awesome professor that really tries to relate the material to the students. Bio is a hard class to begin with but she makes it enjoyable and offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. Plus she is pretty hot as well :)
Dr. Huff is an exceptional professor. She makes everything seem so easy and obvious. She has a different way to explain everything so that everyone can understand. She makes everything fun, and of course the field trips in this class are so damn cool! A wonderful class and professor, I recommend to everyone.
Dr. Huff is an amazing instructor. I came in not interested in Biology and came out a Bio Major. She gives random interesting facts and is determined to teach you everything you need to know about Biology. Take her class!
She is a great teacher BUT the course is hard and the first test will kick your butt! She offers extra credit and gives you study guides. It is a very time consuming course if you want an A
She is an amazing teacher. She is not actually "hard" she does require work though. She is VERY helpful, and she will work around things with you if you have any problems. She likes setting up field trips too. We went on 5 field trips in 6 weeks (winter short semester) which were awesome. She is a favorite of mine. "just for fun" she is gorgeous to
Amazing professor! you need to study it is not an easy A but she will help and give extra credit opps.
Amazing teacher! Knows her stuff and wants you to succeed in her class! She is very helpful and nice. Gotta show up to class, take notes, and study to do well. After all it is a college course.
She is a grate Proff. Vary Helpful. Class was Fun and personaly helpful. if You need to take Health Sic take it with her.
Dr. Huff is an amazing professor. Truly passionate about her profession. She is VERY helpful. She provides study guides for the exams and quizzes. Attendance-MANDATORY.
She is a good teacher, just make sure to make flashcards for the study-guides. And study for the lab quizzes. She is tough, but worth it!
The class is kind of hard, but if you pay attention and study the notes you'll be ok, also read the book, it help me a lot. She is fun and makes the class interesting, we had a lot of group work. good teacher.
Good teacher very passionate about her work (maybe a little too much) and isn't to bad on eyes too. She gives you study guides for each test which help a lot. If you like Biology you will definitely get a A or a B. There's some work in this class so don't think it's an easy A though. Requires a lot of studying and attendance is mandatory.
Dr. Huff is a great professor. She keeps her class fun and interesting. I learned so much! Although, class is not easy. You must put in a good amount of effort. There are 3 midterms (with study guides),several quizzes, a cumulative final, and many opportunities for extra credit. Attendance is mandatory. Dr. Huff is great and truly cares.
She loves biology! Powerpoints are posted to her web page along with study guides. She gives you all the tools you need to understand the material. She offers extra credit so if you want an A I would suggest completing all the extra credit.
Dr. Huff is a great professor. The structure she has for her classroom is anything but easy. Tests are difficult but the material and extra credit opportunities she gives are exciting. After taking her class, I feel like a better student for utilizing the study tools she's presented. Thank you Dr. Huff!
Dr. Huff was a great teacher. She is intelligent and good at teaching, incorporating different teaching techniques to get the point across. Do a lot of study to keep up with the info.
Amazing teacher. Very helpful, friendly, and a very enjoyable class and lab! Few quizzes. Fill out the study guide and read over it before the tests and you'll pass. LOVED HER CLASS!
Dr. Huff's marine bio class was easy but tedious. She gave out to many pointless assignments that did not really teach you anything like making a poster. The class is fun for most of the time and is worth it for the field trips alone. I just wish she was a bit more helpful when it came to one on one conversations where she seemed to get annoyed.
i dont know why there are so many good comments about her...this professor is not good, she is enthusiastic about teaching but self centered, instructions are confusing, grading system is joke
Get this through your head, Bio isn't an easy class no matter the teacher. She is an exceptional teacher and you will learn your stuff. I don't really agree 100% with her grading system but it works. Lab is 3 hours long. She will ask a lot of work from you so it's a bad idea to take with an English class or other hard working class. Highly recomend
this professor is unnecessarily difficult and time consuming. her lecture powerpoint is full of crap. she teaches in difficult way so you have to study hard. dont recommend.
This class was very easy. Dr. Huff is a great professor and I do not understand the bad ratings here. She provides students with all the necessary tools in her website. I took 17 units, two science and one math class, but but still managed to get an A in this class. The only thing I hated was he grading system.
this class was fairly easy, but her grading system is totally messed up. if you expect this class to be read - exam, find another teacher. also her instructions are messed up so just read the whole book.
She makes the material interesting and she really knows her stuff. USE THE STUDY GUIDES!! She puts them on a website, and she puts the exact material you need to know on them.
Interesting lectures, powerpoints, everything u could possibly want/need she puts up online, study guides, what more could you want? She is seriously one of the best professors at RCC.. If I needed to fulfill more reqs I would take them w/ her. She's the type of teacher that'll make you want to change your major bc she's so passionate. Love her!
Can you say sweetheart? Dr.Huff is an excellent professor with a kind soul. Quiet at first, she presents her lectures with fluidity and expertise. As the semester rolls along she becomes more comfortable with the class and seems to blossom. A very interesting and informative course, I suggest EVERYONE study their notes EVERYDAY. Love this professor
So heres the deal with any of the classes Dr Huff teaches Do the work, get a good grade. She gives you everything you need to succeed. It may be tough, but the class is a 4 unit college level course with a lab. Youll probably never look at bio the same way again Oh, the field trips were amazing. Extremely passionate about her students and subject.
On the 1st day that she says that BIO 1 will be one of the hardest classes you take at RCC, she isn't kidding. But she is a great teacher nonetheless. She has clear expectations and rules. Read the book, study what she says to and you'll do fine. Not a class to be taken lightly if you truly wish to succeed in it.
Bio 1 is a hard class with many new vocabulary words you will have to learn. Do all the study guides and you should do fine on the exams. She is very helpful and teaches the material well. This class requires lab 3 hours once a week. There are two fieldtrips and extra credit available. Her grading is a bit off she is looking for perfection.
Great teacher that sets a high standard for her students. Clear and concise with info given. Office hours, take advantage if you want to pass the class with a good grade.
Huff makes the mandatory class fun and relateable. Super funny and interesting. Loved this class. Definitely take her. It seems hard at first but do the reading and study guide amd it is easy.
Biology can be a tough subject, especially if you have no interest in it. But Huff is such an amazing teacher! Her instruction is crystal clear, & she teaches in a way that the information will stick with you. She wasn't hard at all, if you follow her instructions & take notes you will be fine. Utilize her website. BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!!!!!
Nice teacher and likes to help students with tough assignments. Take notes in class to pass the exams. Make sure you have read the notes you have taken before class because she gives surprise quizzes. Pay attention to every detail and you will be fine.
Bio is tough and Professor Huff understands that. She does the best to make the class understand by explainingvideosanswering questions. TAKE GOOD NOTES. Write down everything and study if you want a good test score. It is a hard class but she makes it possible to get a good grade. Take biology with her and you won't regret it!
I really enjoyed her class, but she will make you work. don't think of this class as a piece of cake, if you don't study for each and every exam( 3 exams including the final) you will fail. she gives you all you need to study but expect this: blog every week, you have two debates to present, and one minimum field trip to go to or 5 service hours
Dr. Huff is a great professor. Her class was fun and interesting. I learned a lot, but class was not easy. Do the study guides!! (one study guide per chapter). There are 3 midterms, 4 quizzes, a cumulative final, and I recommend do the extra credit. Attendance is mandatory, if you want to pass.
Very clear about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! If you are not sure about something just ask, if you need more detail talk to her after lecture. She has a great personality which makes class fun. Tests are HARD but study, study, study, and do the study guides. There is lots of extra credit, DO IT!! Shes also really inspiring. Very fun & enjoyable class!!
One of my favorite classes at RCC. Very nice and makes lectures interesting! Do extra credit assignments and do all the studies guides and study study study!!! I recommend going to all the classes and writing as much information as you can, and not just the powerpoints, and make sure to pay attention.
Prof. Huff was a great instructor. She made learning the material fun and easy to understand. The difficulty of this class really depends on how much effort you want to put in. You do not have to read (or even buy) the book, you must take good notes and know everything in those notes to get an A. She is very friendly and will clear misunderstanding
BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD! VERY CLEAR AND ORGANIZED WHEN LECTURING. ALOT OF MATERIAL TO KNOW BUT THIS CLASS IS INTERESTING AND SHE MAKES IT FUN. STUDY STUDY STUDY AND IT WILL PAY OFF AND IT FEELS DARN GOOD TOO. SHE IS THE ONE TO TAKE YOU WONT REGRET IT!
Dr. Huff is amazing professor. Very passionate about her science. But this class is not easy. Definitely time consuming. You NEED to study. This class is no joke. But if you communicate with her she will help you out.
Dr. Huff was an amazing teacher. She is very enthusiastic about what she is teaching and explains things comprehensively. It's not an easy class, but she keeps it interesting so you don't get bored or lost. One of the best professors I have ever had and would 100% recommend her.
Where to start with this professor, SHE IS AMAZING! Of course her class is a little difficult but her powerpoint lectures pay off and her class website is super helpful. She's really enthusiastic and loves to talk, I only opened my book about 5 times the whole quarter her powerpoints are thorough and organized. Review your notes often, it'll help!
just pure great
Dr. Huff is in my opinion not the kind of teacher I expected to find at RCC. She seems overqualified for her current position & belongs at a more prestigious university. With that being said, she is a wonderful teacher who goes the extra mile for those students willing to learn. Take her class, show interest, & you'll do well. Go to office hours!
There's a lot of information to know, but she does everything she can to help you learn it. Tests are easy if you use the study guides. She offers extra credit too. If you try, you'll succeed. You don't need the textbook - everything you need to know is in the lectures (powerpoint online!) You just need the lab book.
If you need to take Bio take it with her. She is hands down the best of the science teachers to take it with. Her lectures are interesting, she is helpful, and she gives extra credit that can make or break a grade. Prepare to work extremely hard for an A in this class. Do not slack off and you'll do well. You MUST have a book; it is essential.
Dr. Huff is awesome! She makes the class so interesting & fun. Definitely tough if you don't keep up with the info. I suggest to study on a daily basis by using the book and her study guidesonline study tools that she provides! Also, make friends! Good luck, you got this! )
Dr. Huff was an amazing teacher. Great lectures and will help you outside of class if you need additional clarification. Really cares about the student Los and makes very difficult material easier to understand. Do the study guides they are the test! Would take again!
Took Huff in the spring 2015!! I knew there was a reason why I never made it into the other bio 1 classes (wait listed) things happen for a reason and I'm glad that I was able to make it into her class.
Currently have her for fall 2015. Good professor if you pay attention in class. She offers some xtra credit but don't count on it. Make sure when you register for class that you have her as your lab instructor also.
BIO 1: If you attend every class and take notes on everything and just study that for quizes and tests then you should get an A/B+. I dont really read the book because it gives extra information that she doesnt go over so just take notes on everything taught and study that. quizes are a week or day before the exam. make sure to have her in lab too
Awesome teacher! Made bio lecture as fun as it can be and made it relatable. Always there to answer questions. She gives you everything you need, you just have to put in the effort.
Dr. Huff did a excellent job explaining the material. Be prepared to do group presentations in lab. Also, Dr. Huff doesnt let you keep old exams so if you want to use them to study for the final you have to go to her office hours. Dont take this class if you dont absolutely need it for your major. Take an easier science class.
Dr. Huff was a pleasure to take a class from. She was engaging and entertaining, which is hard to do for a 3 hour long night class. She is no joke though, so do not play around. If you're 5 minutes late for the exam she might not let you take it. Work load is a tad large, but manageable. One of my top teachers I have had at RCC highly recommended.
I'm bad at Biology but Huff made learning about it enjoyable and relatively easy. She used real-life examples and had interesting lectures. Her tests were hard but probably because she really wants you to understand the material. I got C's on all 4 exams but I know if I studied more I could have done better. I recommend her to anyone taking bio.
She's such a great and devoted teacher!!! She sticks to her office hours and will personally take as long as necessary for you to leave her office fully understanding the concept needed. You have to work hard for your grade but you end the semester with a great deal of knowledge on the subject she's taught you! Best bio Professor ever!
All I have to say is if you pass Dr. Huff's bio 1 class with an A you will have a rock solid foundation for microbiology and amy 2a.
Dr. Huff is by far the best professor I've had during my college career! I've breezed through all my classes with A's, however, she kicks it up a notch and expects University quality work. She is extremely thorough in lecture, and is always willing to help. If you take Bio 1 with Dr. Huff be ready to put in some work!
Dr. Huff is by far the best professor I have taken in college. However, her class is TOUGH. I had no idea what I was getting into prior to this class, but I am so glad I took her class. She is the nicest woman and so intelligent, it can be quite intimidating. Lab was always entertaining! Just study study study and you'll do fine. Awesome professor.
Great professor, not an easy A but gives you tools to pass the class. Lectures are detailed and interesting, provides study guides for test (more to study than study guides). What previous people didn't note is that lab requires group presentations that increase in time towards the end of semester. Not anything major but something to know. Fun clas
Super fun class! U get to go on field trips to learn about plants and animals. She's serious about her subject. U have to drive far for the trips. U have a notebook to take notes about days activity, specific notes. Turn in same day. Tests are hard! U must study. She gives u all the answers with study guides so as long as you study, u will pass!!
Dr Huff is one of the best professors at RCC. She cares about her school, her students, and her subject. BIO36 can be a depressing subject, but she makes learning about env sci interesting and fun. Always down to help students, and is religious to her office hours. Get to know her personally, as she is a great mentor.
One of the hardest classes I have ever taken, but she really does make biology interesting, but more as a lecture and not something you would want to be graded on. Would not recommend if your trying to boost your GPA. Beware of pop quizzes and a ton of HW!
For standard semester, 3 lecture exams (multiple choice), 2 lab exams (fill-in-the-blank), 1 group project, and field trips nearly every week. She offers extra credit, but if you make flashcards from the study guides, you will excel. Don't get hung up on the group project, you don't have to formally present anything. Do your work and show up: Pass!
She is such an inspiration to me! I thought I hated biology and thought I'd never pass, but with Huff's enthusiasm and great spirit, she made coming to class enjoyable and is amazing at teaching. You can tell she truly loves what she does.
Probably one of the best classes I've taken at the community college in terms of student development. Definitely not easy, but Huff is almost always available to explain the material in a very simple way. Be sure to take good notes in lecture/lab, complete the study guides, form cohesive study groups, go to office hours, and you will get an A!
Here's the real review. You have 3 tests then a final that is cumulative. The tests are like 8 chapters in one test!!! OMG it's waaaaayyy too much. Take someone else, she thinks this is an ivy league school or something. The final is worse, i seriously had more than 400 note cards. Yeah she's good at explaining, but way too excessive.
Dr. Huff is on it. She is very particular and she makes you work for your grade. She is very nice and you can ask her anything. She's is very informative and a great instructor, I'm retaking her class because I got a C. She gives a lot of extra credit but again you have to work for it. Highly recommend if you want to learn.
Professor Huff was wonderful! This was a difficult course- and she makes you work for a good grade. But, she is the cutest biology nerd you'll ever see, she's also helpful, and genuinely cares for her students. BEWARE you WILL PUT IN LOTS OF WORK, but her teaching keeps it interesting. Make use of all the tools on her website- they help!!
No matter what prof you take, Bio is tough. There's so much info that you have to learn in 1 semester. But Huff makes it suck a lot less! Her lectures make sense, and when they don't, she makes herself available to explain it to you in a way that works for you. Exams are written in a way that makes sense, & extra credit is there if you're willing!
very knowledgable, inspirational. made me think about the environment in a different way. field trips were super fun and she offered a ton of extra credit that was actually interesting
I adore this professor. Admittedly, I didn't pass her the first time, but that is entirely my own fault... and possibly because the guy I was sitting next to talked too much to me. The trick to succeeding in her class is to listen, take notes, and study them! They will be in the test. I did this the next time I took her and BAM, I got a B.
You definitely don't need to buy the book. Overall Dr. Huff is super passionate about biology, she's thorough, answers questions, and makes herself available outside of class. Just be prepared to study.
Huff is an amazing science teacher!! She really loves her job and her effort shows. Biology is a tough class no matter who you take it with but Huff makes the material easy to understand and remember. Use her website I cannot emphasize that enough. Test are not hard if you review her study guides.
For this being an intro to Bio, Ms. Huff was tough. I have never failed a class in my whole life and had a 4.0 when I started the semester, not anymore. She words her test in a way that you don't think you were even taught the material. Its almost like she doesn't want you to pass. Half the class dropped and most who didn't, did not pass! Nightmare
Huff is very passionate about biology, perhaps a little too much. Her teaching habits are a little much for an Intro to biology. She is a bit excessive. Tests are difficult. Lab quizzes are out of the ordinary. She doesnt have the mindset that we have other classes as well. But she is very humble with an honest heart. (Dont recommend)
Worst teacher I have ever had! Graduated high school with AP honors in Biology, she failed me. Most of our class didn't pass. Average percentage was a 60%, that's terrible. Thinks she's the God of biology. Passed lab with 100%, she wasn't my lab instructor, never missed lecture and didn't even earn a 30%. People need to make a complaint!
Prof. Huff is passionate about teaching biology and wants her students to succeed in the course. About 90% of the exam material comes from the lecture notes. Some questions come from the occasional video you watch. Offers extra credit and is very helpful when you have questions. Put in the work and don't slack off and you'll pass the class.
You will have to dedicate yourselves to this course if you want to pass. Abandon crummy habits like using your phones as they'll affect your understanding of the material. As for readings, skim through the chapter before that lecture date, take good notes in class, and enhance them by reading back through the book to fill in gaps.
Professor Huff is brilliant. Problem is her knowledge is not transferrable. Too much material to retain not enough time for a person who works fulltime and family of 4. Tests are multiple choice,T/F, essay, vocab, welcomes you to office to write down test Q&A. I recommend her for a fulltime student only and last class to take by itself. Good luck!
She is an amazing person who is very passionate about Biology and providing everything you need to pass the class. However, you need to put in a massive amount of studying to even get a C. This is one of the most difficult classes I have ever taken. I recommend her, but beware of what you are getting yourself into, especially if you work.
I HATED science before taking her class. Her enthusiasm made the class so informative & entertaining! Its not an easy course. I succeeded in this class because I did her study guides & read each chapter before lecture. Dr. Huff is an AMAZING teacher who always makes herself available for her students. Best professor in my RCC history ! -Delicia M.
Dr. Huff is an amazing professor. She is so incredibly smart and makes hard concepts easy to understand. Although this class is very difficult, it is worth it. She cares so much about biology and is always willing to answer questions. Pay attention in lecture & don't be late on test/quiz days, as she will not let you take them. (Retakes are harder)
Huff is a great professor, but unfortunately, I did not take the class seriously until later that's why I ended up with a C. Take advantage of the materials; the study guides, lecture notes, the book, etc. You have to attend class to pass or you'll miss some important information. She does offer extra credits but I couldn't go since I can't drive.
Very nice, gives you the resources you need to pass
I will start by saying, Dr. Huff is an incredibly compassionate and kind person. I enjoyed her lectures and she was extremely passionate about the subject. That said, the class was beyond tough and the tests/quizes are super hard. If you have a full course load, this is not the class for you.
Great teacher IF you plan on being a biology major or your field requires a lot of biology. She is definitely passionate about what she does and works with her students to help them understand the material and help them pass. DO NOT take this class with a bunch of other hard classes. I recommend taking it by itself or with other easier classes.
This was a super hard class, but I would gladly take this professor, again. Her lectures are WONDERFUL and so interesting! The lectures all pertain to the tests and quizzes and the book is necessary to help supplement her notes. She provides study guides, extra credit options, and will happily answer all questions without any attitude. Take her!
One of the best teachers I have ever encountered. She is passionate about her job. Incredibly active in school, always informing students of helpful activities happening on campus. Does give chance for extra credit. The class itself is a lot of material to memorize, but it is not a hard concept as long as you preview and review your information!!
Dr . Huff is an amazing professor. Her lectures are great and easy to stay engaged. She keeps herself available outside of class to help students and answer questions. The class is hard but, biology is hard. Its a lot of information so I recommend taking easier classes with this one. I would definitely take her class again!
Shes very helpful and makes it easy for students to understand difficult material. ( Shell even draw visuals for you to understand the concepts or bring in physical objects so you can SEE whats actually happening). You can tell she loves her job and I appreciate her teaching methods. I would take this class again!
Very good teacher, I have always been not that great at the sciences so having her was definitely a good way to help my learning. Her class is lecture heavy and test heavy but I do reccomend it.
Covid19 lecture- great transition! Recorded lectures, still gives all resources needed to succeed in class. Hard class, a lot to take in but she will clarify if help is needed. Available through virtual office hours and email. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! She gives plenty opportunity. Shes very passionate on teaching and helping whoever seeks it.
Had Dr. Huff for SPR 2020. She is so amazing! Even when everything was switched online she did her best to make sure we had what we needed to pass the class. Really helpful and makes lectures easy to understand :)
this class is tough. pay attention to the reviews. dont take it if you have a heavy courseload. i had to study daily for hours and drop one of my classes to get an A. the labs are also difficult as well bc you have weekly lab quizzes. but you learn so much. she is a very knowledgable person and she's nice. this will prepare you for 4 year uni work
The hardest class I took while at RCC. I took it twice. (avoid working 2 jobs) I failed the first time, and the second time I got a B! Howvr Dr. Huff is the most down-to-earth, caring, and helpful professor I encountered at RCC. She looks out for all students and wants everyone to succeed in her class. She even wrote me a letter of recommendation.
I love Dr Huff, she really cares about her students, however you need to work for your grade, Bio is not an easy class. You need to take notes and re-watch all the lecture videos in order for you to understand, she replies really fast all the emails. If you want to pass with a good grade you should do all the extra credit.
Class itself mainly consisted of lectures and weekly quizes based on the notes. Even then, as long as you watch the recorded lectures, you'll pass the quizes! Gives you a week to complete all assignments. Very organized which helped alot! You do have to put in the time but if you complete all the work, you're pretty much guaranteed to pass.
Prof. Huff was incredible! Do not take her if you want an easy A! Though her class required many hours of studying, her lectures are amazing. She makes sure everyone understands the concepts. If you listen to every lecture and do all your homework/quizzes, then you can definitely get an A. Plus, she offers plenty of extra credit. TAKE HER!
I'm not sure how a full semester is with her, but a 6-week course with her is hardcore. It is not easy and she sure doesn't make it easy for you either quarantine or not. Don't bother using the "study guides" she gives you because the quiz or exam questions are not the same or close to it - learned that the hard way. Just read the book.
It's a very heavy course load so be prepared to put in the work. Professor Huff is one of those teachers where you can tell they are passionate about the subject they teach. She is knowledgeable and tries to make the subject fun. She does assign a good amount of group projects. The modules are organized. The study guides for lecture are lifesavers.
Loved this class! Dr. Huff explains things very well & she also throws in some humor so U remember it better. ATTEND CLASS & **STUDY**! She gives a lot of info & she mentions if something will be on the exam. The final is cumulative but it wasn't too bad. She's very responsive & is super helpful if U just communicate. She WANTS to help U succeed.
I took her class during my first semester of college, and I thought she was excellent. Now, as I am getting ready to transfer, I truly appreciate the effort she puts in. She has been my favorite professor, and she doesn't even teach my major. I HIGHLY recommend her class, especially to people new to college :) ! Fun, predictable, and thorough 10/10
She is a passionate and caring professor. Her lectures are amazing, and I learned a lot from being in her class. However, getting a good grade in the class takes a lot of effort and time, so get ready to study hard! Most of the questions on quizzes and tests come from the lecture PowerPoint, but using the textbook is helpful as well.
Dr. Huff is incredibly dedicated to her profession. She loves Biology and her students. The course was fairly heavy(terminology), but if you dedicate the time, you will succeed. She's a quick grader and provides feedback. Easily accessible via email, canvas, and student hours. Extra credit and bonus questions are offered. Loved her class!
this professor actually made me like biology she's always so enthusiastic and passionate and tries to make every single lecture fun. there's a TON of extra credit opportunities and her study guides are incredibly helpful. of course, it is bio tho. study up on your notes/the textbook, ask questions during office hours and it'll be a breeze.
She's a great lecturer, you won't get bored. She always gives great examples. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Do her study guides, they are very similar to what you're tested on. She's always available for questions and so kind and passionate. Definitely recommend her! She really helped me understand Bio for the first time
Dr. Huff is so passionate when teaching and you can definitely tell she loves her profession. Make sure to study the lecture slides and DO THE STUDY GUIDES! Attend her lectures. Everything you need to know to pass exams will be on the slides, study guides or said in lecture. Easy class if make time you study.
