She is too egotistical at times. She expects students to know it all before she gets to class. Does't take her time while teaching; just rushes thru it.
This class is a pain in the ass. Like someone has already said she can be egotistical and helping us doesn't seem to be her forte.
Ummm I never met a person taht can speack so fast and expect everyone to get it. When does she breathe.....
Her notes are the exams. Just copy them word for word and you will ace it. If you mess up, its your own damn fault.
She's one of the best teacher's I've had at PGCC. This teacher requires two things of you: 1) You take good notes and 2) study. That's all. I've noticed that there are only like 3-4 people who actually study and they are one the one's who get the grades.
awful, uninteresting class, she presents her OWN subjective ideas only and you have to know them to pass the exams; if you want to know anything about psych concepts, read the book instead, you sure will not learn much with her
She rushes her lectures, bring a tape recorder, your gonna need it. This class requires an hour a night to do well. Her tests are pretty hard. You gotta study the material over and over to do good. I came out with a B in the class and got 70's on every exam. Do your class papers, they count, and show up everyday, you'll be fine. She knows her stuff
I don't remember to much about the class because it was one of my first classes at PGCC. She's smart, and knows her stuff. She makes it clear that you will need a tape recorder. Make sure you particpate, ask questions, and do all the papers to the best of your ability. I came out with a B.
This class was fairly easy to me. Just make sure you come to class, copy down whatever she writes on the board, study a little, and do the concern papers. And then at the end of the semester, she makes it easier for you. The last couple of tests were open book. It worked for me, I got an A for the class.
A good teacher for the most part. Expect participation from the class. Do all the assignments and show up for class earlier because attendence does matter. She can get confusing at times so don't be afraid to speak up. Otherwise a wonderful teacher.
She knows her stuff but that is about it. Not once has she been on time to class. We start our exams at least 10 minutes late and she belittles her students in class if they get answers wrong. I didn't pay all this money for a teacher who is constantly late, unorganized and unprofessional. I find it hard to have respect for someone like her.
I thought her class was decently easy. The concern paper is a piece of cake, once you figure out what it is. I got A's on all of her tests, and I studied less for the class than some of my other ones. Just don't get on her bad side, participate, and show up on time, and you'll do perfectly fine.
An excellent professor! You better be ready for a college level course if you are going to take her. She does not pamper you and she is very stern! She knows her stuff!Copy your notes!!! She is late for class at times. The substance of the material that she provides made up for it though. I liked her better when the course was over! Shes kinda cool
Lots of work! Little time for learning or lecturing. She loads you up with 100+ take home tests and lots of chapter work at the same time!She fails to lecture about it. If you do all the work you may pass with a C.O did I mention the research project on top of all the tests o yeah and quizes. Be ready to work and dont take any other classes
Gives really Good Information. Gives A LOOOT OF WORK!!! can seem overwhelming but its all worth it in the end. Can be rude at times. but overall shes a good teacher knows her stuff and if your planing to really go in the pshych feild, taking her class is verry benefitial.You will understand the reason behind her madness in the end.
She is an excellent teacher. I have her this Spring sem. She gives a lot of work assignments but she has a reason behind her methods. I have learned so much from her lectures. You do the work - you get the grade. I had no problems in her class. If you don't understand she will explain exercises. NO texting in class or you will be dismissed!
Overall an okay teacher, not an easy class, you have to study and come to keep a good grade. As with helping, thats only on her office hours and with her scantron tests make sure she double checks all answers, we've had incidents where alot of answers were wrong after being graded and she got an attitude when we wanted her to go over all of them.
She gives a LOT of work with barely any specifications as how she wants to done - yet she wants to done perfectly. Do not take this teacher if you enjoy psychology, she will make you rue the day you decided to become a psych major.
I would avoid this teacher by all means, classes were boring and she was not very interesting. She assigned take home tests after the first test because the class did poorly. Many of the questions on the test were not her own and some questions were incorrect. All around bad teacher, bad tests, and just a bad experience
I loved her class for my first semester in college and my first psych class. Whenever I needed help, I would go to her office and ask her. She gives clear instructions on what's expecting in the class. I loved her so much that I'm demanding her class next semester!
She made me take this profession seriously for the first time ever. It is like having a University Class at Community level. Its not easy. Its usually not fun. But if you participate and ask the right/enough questions she will learn to teach to your needs. She makes you challenge yourself. I have taken her multiple times. Do it if you want to learn
Well Dr. Fridy had a pretty unclear teaching concept. First, what she taught in the classroom never directly coincided what was on the test. Also her teaching style was absolutely too fast. She is not the type of professor to wait around at all, she will immediately go into the next explanation. Also no one got A's on the take home test!!!!!
One of the worst teachers I ever had. She talks too fast through lectures, gives lots of assignments but is never clear how she wants them and then gives you a failing grade. She also gives alt of confusing work which she doesn't like to explain. Seriously, avoid this teacher at all cost.
i have never got so much work in my life! if you take her class prepare to drop at least 1 other class because she is going to put so much work on you....GOOD LUCK

She was awesome!I see so many people whining about her, but let me make something clear,Yes, she does give a lot of work and if you did not understand it she was very good about you coming to talk to her so that you could understand it.She was a great instructor and has become my mentor for the field I am going into. Her class is NOT for the lazy!
Worst prof. Bad attitude, ignorant. Bad grammar. Thought Amoco still exists. Constantly talks about her sex life (or lack there of). Unclear on when assignments are due + WONT ACCEPT LATE WORK. Thought there was a thing called "electic" psychology. Why should I listen to her if she doesn't know bout her own subject. Wonder who gave her a doctorate.
Yes she gives alot of work! Do not take her class with another hard class. I learned alot. I would recommend her if you are a psych major because she teaches in a graduate level. She don't take excuses but her office is always open if you need help with anything. She's fast paced and tries to be funny at times. Take her if you need her if not dont!
This teacher was hands down the worst teacher I have had my entire time at PGCC. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I'm not sure how she was back in 2012 but in the Fall 2013-spring-2014 semesters she was a complete nightmare from what I hear. Sloppy chalkboard handwriting, rushed lessons with absolutely no kind of clarity whatsoever. Drop if you can. Avoid!!
She was good, and even though the work was hard,,,,I paid for that class, and earned my grade through sweat and lots of Speak-Out papers. She is a professional, and ran her class as such. Great!
Dr. Fridy is a tough cookie! I had her for 3 different psych courses (Abnormal. Social. Personality & Adjustment) she does give a lot of work, but I recommend all psych majors to take her at least once. I learned a lot from her.
If you have her class make sure this is the only class you are taking at PG. When I say only 3 hours of sleep yeah 3 hours of sleep. I was working after school and I 3 other classes including hers' not the move whatsoever. One thing I can say is that I can time manage like @#$%. Make sure you get the book she gives you.
If you want to pursue a career in psychology, you need to take Dr. Fridy at least one time. It's not an easy A, but she teaches you very well. Her lectures are exactly what you will see on the test. And do not procrastinate on the Launchpad assignments!
This teacher def made me work for my grade, but one thing is for sure... i did learn endlessly. She knows her stuff. Her test are online. She is always avaliable to provide help. She makes you work for your grade, but gives you what you deserve.
Professor Fridy was a great teacher. She gives a lot of homework and tests but it's mostly online. If you are ready to work I'll recommend you to take her class if not forget it.
If you're serious about psychology, Dr. Fridy is it! If you're not taking psychology because is an elective, than she's not the right person for you. I enjoyed my courses with Dr. Fridy. She is amazing.
If you plan on taking more than two classes in general DO NOT TAKE HER. She will make you do a lot of work. All her assignments are back to back. There is no break. Her exams are very long. She does not do extra credit. If you enjoy WORK LOAD take her other than that do yourself a favor and DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!! (does not reply back on e-mails)
Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Does not explain work clearly. Assigns a big work load back to back. Grades on simple, silly, and irrelevant things.
worst teacher ever. She can not fully explain anything she teaches. bounces all over the place. If you are a visual learner definetly do not take this class. Doesn't grade correctly. Honestly one of the worst teachers I have ever had.
The tests are very long expect no less than 50 questions and that's only if she gives the test on a weekday. There is a lot of work not only on launchpad but she will give other varies assignments. YOUR BOOK WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND IN THIS CLASS. She never answers your question you have to interpret what she is saying/asking.
Worst Teacher possible. Very unclear with instructions with how she wants assignments done, late to her own class, grading system : horrible. Very anal yet amateur teaching skills. Does not update grades til end of semester; so grade is unknown until the very end of the semester. Her class is not difficult, it becomes difficult because of her.
Didn't respect her students. Had a "Well, it's so easy I don't know why you don't understand" attitude. Assigned 100+ online assignments and many written assignments. Didn't put any grades in until the day they were due and she didn't use the grade rubric. I still don't know how my grade was calculated because she didn't stick to her syllabus.
Ive never meet an unclear professor like her in my life. She will review subject material after taking an test, then ask question on it in class, she give 150+ question test that are only worth 40 point each, and her final was 295 questions. The only good thing is that the test are all online so you can google the answers. WOULD NEVER RETAKE CLASS
Her lectures are all over the place and are not very clear. Gives a lot of online homework assignments but they are NOT hard at all. Just time consuming. I wouldn't suggest taking her course if you are new to psychology because you will basically be teaching yourself but as long as you do all the homework you will do fine.
When I registered for her class the name said "to be announced " so I didn't know who I was taking. She very unclear, doesn't explain things well and very quick when she speaks. I was talking to an advisor and she saw her on my schedule and asked why I chose her. Avoid this professor at all cost!!!!!!!!!!
Aweful teacher, period
I initially registered for 4 classes this semester and ended up having to drop one due to the fact i had two of her classes at one time. She gives ENTIRELY TOO MUCH WORK. The assignments are not difficult but very time consuming. The exams get longer and harder over time. Make sure you READ the book. Her instructions are often unclear for the work.
She is very unclear with instructions for assignments so make sure you come to her during office hours for help. She assigns too much work. There are a lot of quizzes and exams. MUST READ THE BOOK. Only take her class if you have more free time on your hands. Her due dates are always close together. Her exams are LONG. She moves fast during lecture
Worst teacher
Dr. Fridy was one of my harder teachers. Reading and launchpad will be your friend taking this class. Although her lectures were not super clear, it will help to take notes because there will be questions on all 5 tests from the book & lecture. papers&ext credit&class assignments are easy if you follow the EXACT directions. attendance is important.

She's just very unorganized... I hate her voice... I hate her!! I had to drop her class because I didn't want to fail.
She's unorganized and gives the most pointless assignments. Her grading is a mess!!! She will give you bunch of work to do only make it worth one or two points, or give you a zero for an assignment because you missed one thing. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS
Dr. Fridy goes very fast paced. She'll briefly go over a chapter and then tell you to do an assignment during class in 10 minutes. If the assignment has one thing missing she WILL give a zero, regardless if it was perfect. She grades on what she thinks is right rather than the actual content. Tests are almost 90 questions only worth 60 points. You HAVE to read the book . She does not go over everything on the test in class. Online assignments will consist of quizzes 30questions at times, but only worth 10points. The other assignments are only 1 point.
Just. Don't Do It. If you can switch please spare yourself and your gpa. If you do end up with her just try your best to do whatever she says it'll take some 0s but you'll get it. She's a nonsense grader and her tests are terribly long. They are take home so it's alright if you have the hours. She has MANY in class assignments. Watch your grade.
She is a tough grader and she is not afraid to give you a zero. You really need to work for this grade if you want to pass. Make a good relationship with her by going to her office often so she remembers you. She has good intentions, but the communication lacks. She also gives many exams but most of the answers are common knowledge
If you miss class, you miss out on 10 points that are valuable to your grade. She will give you a zero. She offers no extra credit. Be sure to interact with her so she can learn your name. The homework and exams are online and the textbook is your best friend. I honestly do not recommend her unless you have a lot of time on your hands.
Very unclear with her assignments. You have them at the last 10 minutes of class. Prepare to get 0s on these. Very tough grader, mostly because her instructions on these are unclear.
Unclear with her assignments. She tries to help you but, then you're still wrong. Her means good but, she need explain her assignments better. She's unorganized & will never email you if you need help, will leave you in the dust if you don't know what you're doing & suggest get student help. She will be catching these hands soon, I've had her twice
She is a horrible professor! I would not recommend anyone to take her. She doesn't allow you to get all the notes and give out these homework assignments at the last minute and you can't make them up.
Although she is a tough grader, she gives extra points. She is a good teacher that wants to make sure you understand the topic.

I was only able to get a good grade because I took psychology in high school. If you are looking for a good entry level psychology class, this is not the place to go. One time, she taught the class about classical conditioning for 15mins, then we had a test about it. Do yourself a favor and choose literally anyone else
Too much home work. Not recommended
if class starts at 9:30 it usually starts at 9:45, very unorganized loses a lot of paperwork, doesn't respond to emails in a timely fashion and barely gives directions for big assignments or projects.
She is a really good professor and helps you understand the material. Do expect take home test that are really long and she gives in class assignments. If you are actually taking a career in psychology, I would recommend her.
she is really as strict as people say but she is nice if you get to know her, she gives a lot of in-class activities but its really not bad if you know your onions. study hard, be smart, contribute in class and you will pass this course. all you need is determination, steadfastness and hard-work. life is not always easy so do not give up

This professor is very unprofessional. There have been many occasions where she was more than 15 minutes late to class. Very unorganized and gives assignments back weeks later. This professor uses more of an masters level approach on teaching if you want a challenge then go on and take her. If I could say more I would write an essay about her.
She is actually a really good professor. You have to put in the work to get the grade. She teaches you to prepare for a 4 year college and Grad School. Do what she says and keep her as a close contact , you will be glad you took her later. One of my favorites professors despite the amount of work i had to put in. Had her for 3 classes in one smstr
Very rude, constantly cutting you off when trying to ask questions, very vague yet strict on the assignments she gives, gives so much work for so little points, barely lectures and gives nonsense classwork, shares private info from papers to other students... I could write so much more about this woman but I dont have enough space. Do not take her.
The class was terrible. She gives huge assignments for basically no points. Assignments are not explained throughly. She grades very hard and is hard to speak with. If you can just ace all of the tests and you might be okay. Other than that I do not recommend this class.
She spends most of class time explaining an assignment and she still doesn't give clear instructions. Barely lectures, TERRIBLE at emailing, gives an egregious amount of work for so little points (ex: 43 question quizzes for 3 points), very dismissive of questions and only does 5 minutes of lecture. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!
If you want to keep your sanity please avoid this professor. She's lazy and goes back on everything she says. She also enjoys being giving mocking comments to any question you ask.
Just avoid if you can taking her last minute and you don't know what time you would want to have her in but she didn't support me when I needed help, it's just all complicated in my opinion don't risk it if you don't need the class. I thought I could handle the challenge but she didn't even have class online during Covid-19/ connect to the class.

The worst Professor i have ever had in my life. Shes too mean and strict. too much classwork. every class in 10 mins before the class ends, that is when she want us to write 8 paragraphs with ridiculous question that she does not teach properly. please if you like your life not to be miserable don't ever consider her class. her grades is worst
Worst professor at the collage. She don't care about her student. During the coronavirus she did not have class online, I asked for extra time to complete my online assignment and she denied me. She does not explain her well and if you try to get help she has an attitude.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!! Her homework, test and quizzes are so heavy and hard, she does not care if you pass or fail, she doesn't motivate or help her students. You have to struggle to get an "A" in her class, she told her students that "A's" in her class arennon-existent. She gives the max 10 mins to complete in clas asignments. DON'T TAKE HER.

There are some downsides to this professor. Her lectures can be boring, and she is not very helpful on telling you how to improve your grade if you're having trouble, but she is not as bad as people say she is. If you really do the reading and learn the format that she wants her classwork in, you can get an A. Only take her as a last resort though.
If you are ready to take college level courses, this Professor is for you, is she tough? Yes! I took her for several Psychology classes and let me tell you, as long as you read the text material, pay attention, take notes, show up for her class, do the work and not treat her class like you are still in high school you will pass her class.
