Stores notes on WebCT, you don't have to take notes in class. Nice demos.

I hated physical sciences with a passion before this class- but I actually came to find it interesting because of her. Definitely learned a lot- and she provides good online resources to study with.
Very nice. Bubbley personality. Great notes. Has notes already planned out for you, all you have to do is show up and complement them on your own. Very easy to study with. Good tests as well. All round great teacher.

I thought she had a great personality, and really made class interesting.
She makes it very easy to get an A if you actually put effort into the class.
She's really funny if you understand that she's very rarely serious. It's not a general humor as much as a Physics humor. Very clear and helpful. Intelligent Life in the Universe was definitely one of my favorite classes. Attend class or read the book and you'll be good for the tests. They're not really hard, but some questions are tricky w/o study
I took physics from her and was very entertained each class and learned a lot and got an A thanks to how easy she made it to study. I then decided to take the alien class from her and it was the same thing. She has a great sense of humor and if you do your part, she'll make sure you get an A. Tip: don't buy the alien book, just go to class.
She's a fabulous teacher. explains things very simply and clearly and keeps class interesting and entertaining. Nothing too hard. she sure does like her physics toys and experiments. every day she had some kind of visual to help explain the subject.
She is an amazing teacher. I got a low test score on the first exam and she sent me a personal email and offered me make up work to gain a better score on the previous test and gave me tips on how to study better. She's very entertaining, make sure not to miss physics day cause it is awesome! Don't buy the book, you won't ever use it!
Took the class to cover a required credit. She is totally obsessed with aliens and it made the class super fun!
She used multiple gadgets everyday, made class WAY fun. Labs are simple, fun, & easy. She makes it easy to succeed. Follow along by writing in the book in class. It makes studying and doing homework waaay easier. Go to homework help and she does the homework for you. Sit up front because of her cool demonstrations.
Tonya is, thus far, my favorite Professor at USU. Her lectures are great in part because of her sense of humor. I would recommend her classes to anyone because she makes them fun and you still learn a lot.
She was a great teacher! She made class fun and interesting.
This is a very easy course, the tests are common sense. her lectures are insightful and she dose not push any kind of political belief on you (which is surprising considering the course is titled energy and the environment.) don't buy the book you never use it. do the homework in groups that helps allot as well
Tonya is a great professor. There are weekly assignments and tests about every two weeks. If you pay attention in class and use the files she has online its an easy A. She does a lot of cool in class experiments so make sure you sit in front of the class to watch.
She was really fun. The class was easy to pass. The tests were easy enough. The hardest part about this class was the fact that you had to go to lab. What she put up on the bored was exactly what was on the tests, and there was an extra credit question everyday that you don't even have to get right.
The tests are not the easiest thing, but if you go to class you'll do fine. There's i-clicker questions every class, so those are important. If you miss class though, the lectures are online.
Very long lectures that just include her talking very fast for an hour and fifteen minutes. Doesn't make a lot of sense. Dumb jokes.
I would highly recommend this professor and course! I love going to class! She tells great stories that relate to what she is teaching and it is a wonderful class!
Extremely long confusing lectures. Tests are difficult and the majority of the grade. One big paper in the entire semester and several minuscule homework assignments.
Interesting lectures. If you go to SI sessions, the tests are much easier!
Awesome lectures, fun labs. She is a very entertaining professor. Try to sit up front to see the cool in class examples.
I am in love with Tonya. On the final day of this course I went down to the front of the room and proposed to her. Unfortunately, I had only received a B in the class and she informed me that she would only wed someone with an A. I began to bawl, I laid on the lecture hall fall floor crying for 6 days and 6 nights. O have her class 5 times now.
She's a really funny teacher, and keeps the class engaged. I took her Intelligent life in the Universe class and was really happy with how it turned out. She's a fun professor. Her tests are brutal, if you go to the SI sessions and use the study guide you should be fine.
She's amazing!! Anyone who doesn't love and respect this professor honestly isn't a respectable student. Best class and professor on campus. She wants you to get an A and cares about students that care about the class. This class will give you a broad knowledge of the universe and life from a brilliant professor.
She has very long boring lectures. She has clicker questions so it is mandatory to go to class. If you don't study for like 10 hours you will probably not get an A in the class.
Such a fun class! She taught so well! The demonstrations are really neat. Homework isn't too hard, she goes over it in class. Go to class or you won't know what you need to. I recommend getting a study group together before tests, that helped a ton! Easy if you study. Labs are fun too! Read the chapter before class to understand the material.
Super easy class. All you need to do is show up to class, go to lab, and go to review sessions. Homework is gone over at the beginning of class so you can correct and mistakes you had and the TAs are good at explaining things. It can be time consuming so plan accordingly.
Tonya was a good professor, really easy class to listen to although she could sometimes go off topic. Online quizzes are pretty easy as long as you take notes/they're similar to the tests. The "essays" were maybe 300 words for watching alien movies. SI's were a lot more helpful than the in class lectures and I enjoyed them a lot.
Tonya was a really funny teacher but her lectures seemed to go on forever. I thought her class was pretty easy but I also took a lot of physics in high school. I know that some of my friends who never took physics struggled in class. No textbook other than a guided reader, and you don't even need to read it. It is helpful to attend class.
I really enjoyed her lectures because they were simple and I always knew how to do the homework, afterward. She offers after school homework help and the labs rarely took over an hour to complete. Easy to get an A.
I hate Physics, and she made me love attending class. Very fun lectures. Sit close to the front so you can see her fun demos. Lab is required, but they're always fun. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it's helpful. GO TO REVIEW SESSIONS. It will help you so much on exams. She cares a ton about each student in a class of 300. Best professor.
Very kind professor, but a little quirky/kind of off. Really passionate about the subject. Is an interesting topic, but class can get really, really boring
She was easy to listen to. Took attendance by clicker questions. Helpful to go to class for sure, but she posted the powerpoints on canvas. The material was easy to understand but tests were un-deliberately tough. The questions were tricky for students with basic knowledge. I studied hard and barely got an A. I didn't even buy the textbook though.
The text book is not necessary. She doesn't offer any extra credit and most of the grade is based on exams which can be pretty tricky, especially if you don't study. She also requires a 95 for an A, which is higher than most classes. This class also talked a lot about the universe and planets, not really about aliens.
Triplett was an awesome professor! Gave really insightful lectures and kept class interested. She regularly posts PowerPoints and video lectures online which helps you get caught up if you are absent. I got an A in the class and never opened the textbook, just make sure you go to class and listen to the lectures and you'll be good to go!
Necessary to go to class to do well. The course itself was interesting and I even caught myself talking about the content to family and friend. She was a really nice person and explained the material well, but when it came to tests, the answers were tricky. She would say multiple answers in class but the test was only looking for one answer.
Literally if you go to class and do the homework, you'll pass. Tonya is amazing, and entertaining to listen to!
Shes great! Shes your typical Physics teacher, so kinda weird, but a great teacher! Make sure to take notes and to pay attention to her lectures, and then youll succeed! Seriously. Easy A.
Shes a very caring professor that cares about her students and their goals. She sets time aside to meet with students when works for them if her office hours dont work for them. She will go over any questions you have on homework, quizzes, or tests and lets you finish things Pat the due date for full credit if you are working with her or a Ta.
This class was so entertaining! She loves what she teaches and she wants you to succeed. As long as you do the homework, pay attention, and study a little bit for the test you will definitely pass the class. The tests aren't terribly hard either.
She is a great teacher, actually cares about her students, if you go into her office she gives you food, and actually listens to what you have to say.
Tonya is nutso, in the nicest way possible. She bounces off the wall. She's hilarious. She also assigns tons of homework and her tests aren't that tough, but I felt like her lectures were kind of pointless; they were scattered and felt unorganized. Good choice for Pre-Health students, I would say.
She's really funny and really nice and she seems to enjoy what she does but what she doesn't do is teach. I completely stopped going a couple of weeks into the semester and did the same the next semester because she just rambles and shows demos and talks about random stuff that doesn't help. I did fine but I had to basically teach myself.
Tonya was a homie. She was always willing to help give extra attempts on homework and extend the deadline. She allowed for you to meet with her and work through any physics problem. She sincerely cares about her students. She will give you snacks if you go to her office hours.
She is a really funny teacher and really cares about your success. Go to her office hours and try to be friends with her and it will work out great for you.
Tonya is not the best lecturer, but she's a really sweet lady who wants everyone to do well in her class. She gives 2 chances on every test question, 5 chances per homework question, multiple tries on recitation quizzes, etc. Even if you do poorly on exams, you can still easily pass the class from doing the homework/going to lab!
Tonya was one of my favorite professors last semester! She is hilarious and always wants to make sure you understand the material. There's a homework assignment due every Friday, a lab about half of the weeks, and 4 tests total. The tests are way easier than the homework assignments and you have multiple chances to get each question right.
Tonya is the sweetest professor you'll ever have. Her lectures are pretty hard to follow, but do the homework and practice tests and you'll pass easily. We get 5 tries on every homework problem (or more if you talk to her) and 2 tries on every test problem (which are multiple choice). Obviously it's a hard class but she really wants you to succeed!
Tonya is a legend. If you are worried about taking this class don't be! She is SUPER understanding and goes out of her way to help you out. Homeworks you get 5 chances per question and exams she gives you TONS of time, as well as 2 attempts per question (the second attempt is 80% of the points on that question) if you don't get A that's on you.
Tonya is SO nice. She uses an online program called WileyPLUS that I really liked (even though it was sometimes annoying). Lectures arent required. I never got anything out of them, but with the program I still learned a lot and was prepared for tests. Lab around every other week, need to go to half the recitations, and lots of office hours!
Ok, first off, I attended about 30 minutes of physical lecture for the entire school year and I got a B+ and A. Her lectures are okay, pretty scattered, and only somewhat helpful. Her tests are pretty much exactly like the practice tests given so make sure to do those over and over until you know exactly what is going on.
Its an okay class her lectures were hard to follow along and didn't make sense. If it wasn't for the homework help videos I probably would struggled. She is also really bad at responding to emails. Which is annoying. I emailed her 4 times during the semester and she never responded to any of them. Overall it's not a super hard class.
*This is from a person who got A in calculus and does not struggle in math*. Tonya is a bad lecturer. She would waste way to much time during class and at the same time when she was explaining a topic it was very hard to understand coming from her. This class isn't hard to get an A but if you need it for MCAT you should choose a better lecturer.
She was a good professor overall, I like how she had her class is set up and how things are graded. Only two things she would tend to go on and on about something and would get boring. I also emailed her four different times during the semester about important questions and she never responded to any of my emails, which was very frustrating.
Professor Triplett is such a sweetheart, but I honestly struggled in this class. Although it's named intro to physics, I found that we explored concepts that were much more advanced/specialized than I expected. The labs in this class were really fun/helpful. I suggest doing a ton of studying before taking her tests. Homework help is offered!
Listen, Tonya seems like a nice person outside of class, but here lectures were terrible. I found help from the TAs and YouTube much more helpful. She also gets off topic a lot and confused on when the due dates she set are. The test questions were always really confusing and I genuinely never knew if I was doing good or not.
Triplett was a good professor. Her classes are engaging, but not always very clear. She is not the best lecturer as sometimes she moves a little too fast. But there are lots of opportunities for help outside of class. Do your homework and boom, an A.
Alright, listen closely. Tonya is a great great person. Her lectures are not it though. I watched more YouTube videos than lectures. Stopped going to class because I could learn more in less time in other ways. Her tests are hard. Way hard. And weighted heavily. If you are a great student, you will be fine. If you know you're average, be careful.
Tonya is very sweet and is passionate about the subject. Material can be a little scattered at times, but she's happy to correct discrepancies if you point them out. It was a pretty easy class, just know that you will be watching an hour long lecture twice a week. It's more about space/biology of life than aliens, but still interesting to me.
Tonya organizes her class around lecture and four exams that are worth 60% of your grade, so the other assignments have little impact on your overall grade. The textbook is pretty much useless and the class is extremely unorganized. The material was interesting, but Tonya was hard to contact and was inconsistent with due dates and assignments.
Professor Triplett is very kind and passionate about what she teachers, however it was hard to learn from her lectures. She tried to pack so much in to one video and it was hard to follow along. There aren't really and study materials for exams, so you kind of have to guess what will be tested. Overall, not my favorite class, but you can get by.
I think Tonya would be an amazing professor to have in a class with a smaller class size, but as a lecturer for a class size of hundreds, she fails. She throws in pointless asides instead of just explaining what you need to know. I always just skipped her lectures. She teaches the exact same material as the textbook, just worse.
Tonya loves to talk. She knows her stuff and loves to talk about it. She really cares a lot about the subject she is teaching. Make sure to get involved in class activities and labs, that's where you learn the most. Use the homework help offered before every homework assignment is due too, that's where I learned the most.
Dr. Triplett is very passionate about physics. Her homework can be pretty tough, but she has lots of help and assistance available. Her exams are very doable. Overall, she wants her students to succeed, but her lectures are not great. I recommend watching Dr. Edward's lectures if you're in her class.
Tonya was the most understanding professor I have ever had. She worked with me around many different things and it was very clear that she cared about my success. As far as her tests, almost everything could be solved directly from the equation sheets. You also get 2 attempts per question on the exams, with the second attempt being worth 80%.
Sweet person, good teacher. She understands the material very deeply and lectures well (except they're pretty boring). Values learning by experience rather than memorization. Tests aren't a huge chunk of the grade, homework is long but helpful. Online lectures available to supplement in class learning.
Professor Triplett was so incredibly kind and understanding. She genuinely cares about her students and it shows. I would definitely recommend taking her course, especially if you are a student with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or simply someone who needs extra help in understanding physics. She WILL help you succeed.
I found that I did better by not going to the lectures and teaching myself the material. She's very passionate about the material, but I think she'd do better teaching a high-level course and not something for beginners. The tests weren't crazy, but the class was a bit disorganized.... though this semester her husband died... so bear that in mind
Terrible lecturer and super disorganized. I ended up teaching myself most of everything. I do really like her grading scale though, and the class is easy to get an A in. She obviously cares a lot. This was a rough semester for her in her personal life though, so maybe that affected it.
I love Tonya!, her lecture are amazing and fun. she obviously cares a lot about teaching and want to help her student succeed.
Tonya is an incredible professor. This is a tough class, but she gives you a plethora of resources to do well in. If you don't get a good grade in her class, it's because you didn't put in the work. She makes a ton of effort to be accessible outside of class and is always more than happy to help her students. Best professor I've had at USU.
Content is not the easiest but Tonya is a great teacher who wants her students to succeed.
I got away with missing class multiple times, but lab attendance is mandatory. Prof. Triplett records all her lectures, provides study guides and online help for exams, and posts videos going over each homework assignment. You don't need to buy the scientific calculator recommended by the class, even if you don't have a calculator.
Tonya is an amazing professor. Attendance is not mandatory, but there is extra credit if you do attend. She has clear expectations for the class and provides feedback. Tonya wants her students to succeed and offers many opportunities to get more help. Overall, Tonya is a great professor, and I would take another one of her classes.
Tonya is such an amazing teacher. She is not just a teacher but a kind person who is truly invested in students success. Her lectures were very engaging and I learned a lot.
Tonya is a very good person and wants her students to succeed. That being said, she goes on a lot of tangents during her lectures. It is hard to follow some of her lectures because of this. She is a very kind grader and provides many opportunities for help. As long as you participate in labs and try on exams, you should be fine.
The teacher doesn't teach most the class doesn't even attend lecture. You can watch videos she posts of another professor for each unit. Homework is weighted the same as exams so if you do the homework and fail the tests you will be fine. Easy to pass, terrible to take.
I love Prof Triplett! Her lectures are among the few that I can actually pay attention to. She likes to have fun in her classes which makes it engaging. I was very worried when I saw I had to take physics, but it became the class I was least worried about. Labs are actually pretty fun too which makes it easier to not dread.
Tonya is a fantastic professor who loves what she does and it definitely shows in how she teaches. she is always excited to teach and hopes students show interest in her work. studying in fairly easy if you go to the lectures and the homework doesn't take long especially with homework help sessions.
Professor Triplett is so funny. That being said, a lot of her lectures are just her yapping and some days you don't learn anything. For tests, there's online and paper portions. Online is hard and you often don't know what to study for. Paper is easy because she is a very generous grader. Weekly homework- not too bad, there's homework help before.
Well, I showed up twice ever to her lectures and still got an A-. On the last test I studied less than 5 minutes for it and passed it with flying colors.... The only reason why I did not get an A, is because well, I chose not to haha.
It was great. She knows the material is difficult, so she does what she can to help you succeed. The homework is weighted the same as the tests, and it's almost impossible to get less than 100% on the homework. She gives you multiple chances per question on the quizzes, and she has very helpful practice tests.
Tonya was a phenomenal teacher. While attendance wasn't mandatory, its definitely recommended because of a mini quiz with each session. The class was very test heavy. While only having 4 exams, they were about half the entire grade. I missed one of these (keep an eye on due dates), but she's forgiving on late work and reopened it. Saved my grade.
