Prof. Jordan is awesome! He is so helpful and his lectures are so clear that it makes the topic easy. Natural Science 2 is hardly organic chemistry but even those not scientifically minded will be able to do ok. He is warm and funny and very approachable
prof jordan is awesome!!! this is the best map class.
Prof. Jordan made very dry, somewhat inaccessible information less intimidating. A great teacher installed in a MAP course always seems like NYU's concession to its students -- "Here's a class you don't want to take, taught by a teacher you'll love.&

Great Professor
he's funny and makes learning about science much easier
quite simply put, the best lecture possible. hilarious, helpful, intelligent, fair. the man
This cat is a STRAIGHT-UP Jim Carrey character of a chem teacher. Good guy. Get down with him- you'll be glad you did.
One of the best professors. Funny, intelligent, and extremely well organized. He makes the material fun to learn and makes you want to go to class. His sense of humor is awesome and really tries to relate to students and help them. Definitely recommend him.
The best professor ever. He actually cares about his students and makes a boring subject interesting. He makes me actually want to go to lecture!
FANTASTIC. COMPLETELY ADORE HIM. TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE A SCIENCE. i absolutely hate science and he makes me want to take it over and over again. yup. love him. great teacher, entertaining and clear.
I love trace jordan. He cracks me up, and makes complicated things seem learnable. I feel like he actually cares about what he's teaching and makes me care about what he's saying. Take any class from this man that you can.
This is one of my favorite professors in the university. His lectures are always clear and interesting. The exams are as fair as they possibly be if you have kept up with the readings and the lectures. Trace made me love chemistry. I wish he would teach more classes beyond the morse requirement.
Nothing to say that hasn't been said before. Great class, great professor.
I LOVE TRACE!!! he makes this class so interesting and he makes everything easy to understand even though its complicated work. he is very fair and really cares about his students. best professor ive ever had!
Trace Jordan is amazing. So funny, beyond having an amazing sense of humor / fair exams / clear lectures.. he's so helpful. He'll actually take the time out to talk to you about things, even tutor and etc. A kind person - brilliant teacher, a rare combination
most amazing professor ever!! i was so scared about this course but he made it so interesting! i've waited to take another class so i could have him again!
Best professor at NYU. He's hilarious. Little English man with a GREAT sense of humor. Made a Politics Major enjoy Human Genetics. On top of that, he's so helpful AND if you go to lecture, you'll dominate his tests!! Easy class witha great professor!
Had him for NatSciII- Human genetics. So funny, makes lectures worth going to. Doesn't teach straight from the book, but adds ethical and social context to make it even more interesting. Really cares about his students and how well they do, very accessible and repeats everything to make sure people understand. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
He made this a fascinating class while holding everyone's attention, making the whole class laugh every five minutes--amazing class, amazing professor--take human genetics!! Get this professor!!!
amazing teacher! he can make anything interesting and i absolutly loved the course. had him for human genetics and energy and environment! best classes ive ever taken! he picks really great TAs!
LOVE THIS MAN! amazing professor...i never would have been interested in genetics EVER if it wasn't for him. take his class if you can!
Oh my goodness, take his class! No matter what it is. What a wonderful professor. He truly cares about his students, his lectures are so clear, and it is totally possible to get an A. I did both semesters I had him as a professor. Never a boring lecture.
Great professor! Really cares about his students. Take him!!
This professor is what all college professors should be like. He is extremely helpful, fair and contientious(if thats how you spell it). The course work is clearly layed out and he is very organized and thoughtful of the students. Very good teacher and would recommend to anyone! Thank you Trace Jordan for making my freshman experience easier!!
This professor is amazing! I am an English major and he makes his MAP science class so interesting! He is very funny and helpful. The midterm was very easy and my TA grades very leniently on labs. I reccomend him 100%!!
Most amazing professor imaginable. I took him for Human Genetics AND Energy and the Environment. He is so kind and nice and helpful and eager to get you excited about the material. Don't look at the name of the course- if Trace is teaching TAKE IT! Has the greatest TAs and is very straightforward about what is on midterms and final. I love Trace!
Trace is a very nice, enthusiastic teacher. His lectures are all very interesting and he tries to make it fun for us to learn. He's very sweet and funny, and overall its an enjoyable learning experience with him. His hw's are a little hard, not exactly everything we learned in class, but manageable. same with tests. He's not super easy, but fun.
I LOVE Trace Jordan-- he is passionate about the subject, cares about each of his students although the class is large, and picks great and helpful TAs. He definitely wants to connect to all students-- those science-oriented and otherwise. Pay attention-- his tests reflect information given in lectures. Take his class!
A model professor. I took Energy and the Environment. He has complete control over his class, is extremely helpful, and is the best science teacher I've ever had. TA's are good, interest is high, and you'll actually learn something. Work involved is moderate, and a lot of it is just coming to class, but attendance is not taken.
This guy is a great professor, take a class with him if you can. He is very helpful very nice and always willing to give up his own time for his students. Really easy too.. go to class and you will get a good grade!
Great teacher. Very entertaining even if the material is not so interesting. The stuff you learn is high school quality. Ridiculously easy.
Extremely understanding and helpful! Take his course!
Extremely helpful and considerate towards the student. Lectures move slowly, but only because Jordan is extremely thorough. He's the best MAP professor the program could ever offer, he's extremely good what he does
i took him both for natural science I energy and natural science molecutes. the energy and the environment course was ridiculously easy but the molecules of life course is very hard especially if you are not very fond of chemistry. his teaching is okay. he's clear and sometimes entertaininng although some people still fall asleep in his classes.
Best professor without a doubt. So clear and is extremely funny. His exams are not hard. But dont get use to him because not all teachers are like him
Best MAP professor at NYU! Really helpful if you have to miss for religious reasons, and genuinely makes you interested in the material. Take his Nat. Sci.!
One of the BEST Teachers I have ever had, hands down. Professor Jordan is so passionate about what he does. He is funny, interesting, nice, and really wants to see everyone succeed. I am in awe! His teaching is incomparable and he is crystal clear! LOVE him! Take any class he offers! PS. He picks the best TA's: Emily Peitzman is beautiful & so fun!
Trace seems like a funny, caring professor but sometimes, he's just frankly not. He is often uncaring and while he attempts to be funny, he fails. He makes the class easy for people but alot of the subject matter is garbage, like most Nat Sci courses. Take him, he's not as awful as the rest of the teachers. But he's a tool.
Trace is excellent. Great in-class demonstrations, very understanding and straightforward teaching approach. Labs are basically graded on a completion basis.
An interesting class and a good way to fulfill the NatSci II requirement. Easy homework, midterms, and final. My TA liked to deduct points for random lab questions but that was not common. Studying for Lab Quizzes / Pre-labs was a must.
I took him for NatSci:Energy & the environment. Easy A class in my opinion, only took him to fulfill science req. Teaches very well too, and literally everything on the exam will be covered in class (very predictable). Great teacher overall and if u need to fulfill Nat sci, the easy A classes are Energy & Environment or How things work. GLuck.
Easiest class you'll ever take. His lectures are very repetitious, labs are quick, homework takes an hour max. Exams are straightforward if you attend lecture.
Takes himself way to seriously for a MAP teacher. He needs to realize that the kids only take his class because they have to, not because they are science majors with high aspirations in the field. His final was 27 pages long, and was very tough. I would avoid this class if you want an easy requirement
He is very passionate when he teaches and tries his best to make everyone engaged during his lectures. He is a great educator without question. BUT he demands so much work for a NatSci class. Weekly homeworks, papers, in-class assignments, labs, long exams, etc. The final was an absolute beast, 27 pages long. It was comical. Frankly, not worth it.
I don't like science but I like his class because he's so clear. Since it's not a MAP class it's easy to do well if you try. just focus and listen. He's funny at times so it shouldn't be so hard. he loves his students! bought us dessert and coffee after a MAP funded movie trip. really passionate about science and fairly interesting
Nicest prof ever! I am an MCC major, so I'm terrible at science, but he makes it so easy to understand the concepts! Played music in class today! Fun, dynamic, and adorable! You don't really even have to do much of anything if you've taken science in HS. Attend lecture; it really helps! TAKE HIM. Best/easiest maps course
The most amazing professor I have ever had. Love him. He will help you in any way possible. Amazing man.
The most amazing professor in NYU. Love him. The readings were really short. He plays music, shows videos, and lecture is interesting. Adore him with all my heart. I highly recommend him. My lab instructor was also a genius. Loved him.
The best professor I have ever had at NYU. I took him for a nat sci rqrmnt. He's so sweet and funny and will do anything to help his students. He's really clear and I highly reccomend him. He makes science fun and even brought candy on halloween! Hes so loveable. Take him!
One of NYU's best. Had such a bad experience with NatSci I that I waited until senior year to take II. I flat out told him my first day and he made sure to keep track of me the whole semester in a 100+ person lecture. Really great guy and if you pay attention, you will do well. He wants to see you succeed and will go out of his way to help you.
Professor Jordan is the best. He's so knowledgable, helpful, & has a great sense of humor. Would recommend the professor and class to anyone!! He's so cool we even have inside jokes :)
He's the best professor I've met in my first semester at NYU! The course is easy and he's so funny! Highly recommended!
He is by far the most caring professor I've met. Friendly, clear, engaging, understanding. Simply amazing.
Professor Jordan is a sweetheart. He makes the transition from high school to college really smooth & gives many useful tips for your college career along the way. The class itself is really helpful in learning to manage college work and it doesn't even feel like a class except for the occasional papersweekly readingswritings. One of the best :)
"What is College For?" was a very enjoyable course for me. I have no legitimate complaints about the professor, but I feel like the actual course kind of ran out of steam at the end. After the topic "College: What it Is & What it Should Be", the rest of the course seemed to bare less relevance. Still, I would recommend the seminar and professor.
Professor Jordan is a really helpful professor who really cares about the success of his students. There are in class assignments throughout the semester so if you skip the lectures, that's 5% of your grade right there. You have to get 95 to get an A but if you study even a little bit and go to all the lectures and labs you will have no difficulty
very nice person
Homeworks, quizzes and exams aren't that bad; so long as you do the study guide's it's an easy A. Professor Bromley really cares about his students. I asked him during the exam about a question I didn't understand, and he didn't leave me until he felt like I completely understood it. Now that is a professor worth taking.
Molecules of Life was a fairly easy class. The only difficult things about it was that a 95% or higher was needed for an A, and at some point you have to write a 3 page, single-spaced essay on a stupid topic that can be summed up with one page. The tests are long, but they are easy if you do the review guide. Overall, the class was very easy.
He's really nice and friendly, and gives you everything you need to succeed. I didn't do as well, because I didn't pay enough attention in class. If you do his study questions, and read his textbook, you should do well in his class. It's not hard, but it is a lot of work.
This class would have been great if I were remotely interested in the topic. Lots of work (textbook reading, homework) but the work prepares you if you do it thoroughly and pay attention in lectures (I did not, because I found the course material boring). I felt like there was some busy work, but it helps your grade. Fine if you put in the effort.
Run. Run while you can. This class is fine and fairly 'easy' - depending what you think easy is. It's a ton of work, and if you get lucky and have a great TA like I did, they'll take off points on labs and tests simply for breathing. If you want an 'easy' A, take something else.
You think it's easy and all, but it isn't at all. The two midterms aren't bad, but the final is pretty much impossible. Not going to lie though, Prof. Jordan is a really cool guy. I would take this class again, just wished I worked harder the first time. Attendance is mandatory as there are classwork assignments that need to be handed in.
Prof Jordan is a really nice and caring prof. However, the TA's will take off points for the most particular things (like not writing the section number on an essay), which makes it hard to get an A in the class (considering the 95 for an A cutoff). This class is NOT an easy A. Attendance is basically mandatory b/c of in class activities.
Trace Jordan is one of the best professors I've had at NYU. He makes lectures interesting and tries to make in-class activities fun. The midterms and final are all based on the review sheets(study questions) he posts. As long as you do those and review before the tests, you will be fine. Highly recommend him if you need to get the core science done
Trace's class is one of my favorites at NYU. It is clear that he cares about his students and really wants them to succeed. Molecules of life was a great course for me because of its coverage of chemistry, bio and medicine, as opposed to going in depth about one. Its awesome to learn about science in my life. Do the readings and you'll do great!
This class was extremely boring, but extremely easy. The essays were a killer. Professor Jordan is the best. He gives excellent career advice. If you want an easy freshman seminar, pick his class.
Professor Jordan is extremely nice. He requires you to read two books and write four papers. Two of the papers are personal so they're not too hard. Classes can get a little monotonous but he will always come up with interesting themes and topics. Great course to understand what the point of college is and how to take advantage and enjoy.
Prof. Jordan is one of the best professors you can find. He's caring, knowledgeable and tries to make classes interesting. I had him for both Physical and Life Science, which I wanted to get out of the way quickly. The only downside is that the textbook and course materials are pretty expensive even when discounted.
He's the best professor I have for my first year in college. He gives good feedbacks on the papers and really pushes you to think and discuss on class. Trust me, you'll definitely like him if you take his courses.
Caring and brings food and gives lots of prizes
Great teacher!! Take him and read the book.
Prof. Jordan is very caring and gives helpful advice. He is also generous in grading as long as you meet the requirements. The class is definitely one of the easiest First-Year Seminar courses.
Very responsible and inspiring professor
Professor Jordan genuinely cares about his students and gives great advice. Take his seminar class if possible!
He was a really chill dude and always looked for ways to make class fun. He knew what he was talking about too, and it felt like he went out of his way to give everyone the best learning experience. Really appreciate all the effort he put into that class.
Professor Jordan is such a nice, genuine guy. He's probably the most organized teacher you're gonna get at NYU- spelled out syllabus, spit-back info from the textbook, lab, and lectures. Explains everything in a very easy manner. 2 midterms, labs - 20%, homework (mc), final, in-class exercises (5%). Tons of office hours- highly recommend!!!
Best prof I've had. His material is very easy and fun to learn. Exams are doable and easy, as long as you put in the work. Not as hard as other classes. Very caring guy, he showed us his cats! Accessible and a very easy grader, even online. There's not enough praise that can be said about him. Take his class, he's a gem! Best decision I made!!
Fall 2021. If you took AP Bio and Chem this class should be a breeze... Just make sure you take good notes of his lecture and you should be okay.
I'm the worst at anything science related, but I found this class to be fairly easy. I found a lot of the material to be a repeat of what I learned in high school honors biology. The labs are simple as well. Prof Jordan is very understanding and an excellent professor. I definitely enjoyed taking this class and having Prof Jordan as a professor.
It's pretty obvious that the good reviews this semester were written by the TAs or Professor Jordan himself: he took a medical leave 1/4 through the semester so we went online, then proceeds to give long and laborious (albeit not hard) exams. He also reused online lectures from last year, which was disrespectful to students.
Professor Jordan is one of the best professors I've had during my time at NYU. He understands that this class is for non-majors and his lectures are very clear and easy to understand. He makes classes very interesting and I would highly recommend having him as a professor if you get the chance.
He's caring, his lab instructors are great, the course is organized and interesting. Simple enough: take his class!
He is the god of life science core!!! He teaches the lecture sooo well. The class is chill and contains lots of knowledge that is closely related to our life. The experiments in labs are interesting and not hard to handle. If you are hesitated while choosing core classes , please choose Trace Jordan! You will not be regretful.Highly recommended!!!!
The lecture is amazing. Workload is not heavy. Choose him!!!
Prof Jordan is THE best professor at NYU. He is very caring and professional. His lectures are clear and inspirational. HWs and lab projects were manageable with a LOT of extensions. The exams were easy and straightforward. Lab instructors are great and willing to provide help. Choose his life science core and get a good grade.
He is very understanding and genuinely knows how to engage his students. He also provides extra study material that encourages you to study the material after the lecture.
Nice person, Long Exam. Concepts introduced after the first midterm are a bit hard to grasp for non-STEM majors.
Professor jordan was amazing for students who aren't majoring in a science. he does a great job of breaking down all the concepts clearly and makes it easy to understand for non-science kids. the material does get more difficult as the semester progresses but labs and homeworks really help your grade.
The worst class I've ever taken at NYU. Almost mandatory class exercises each class 20 mins. 20 min EACH announcement each class. Many unnecessary forms of assignments such as writing papers etc (it becomes more annoying if you are going to graduate and enter the real world). Essentially, it's much more than what's written on the syllabus.
I've never had a professor that is genuinely open to feedback. He never rushed through the material and removed things from the exams if we didn't have time to cover them. I've never been big on biology and chemistry but his interest and knowledge make it more fun. Not an easy class but Professor Jordan is very clear about what is expected of us.
Professor Trace Jordan is one of the best professors at NYU. His lectures are engaging, interesting, and are also posted online on Zoom for students who are unable to attend in person. His tests can be long, but he provides a study guide for each test, which makes them manageable if you study smart. Average for exams was 90-ish so pretty easy A.
One of the best profs at NYU! He's super aware of the fact that it's a core class so he makes the material as interesting and understandable as possible for non STEM majors. There are 2 midterms and 1 cumulative final, but they're easy as long as you keep up with the lectures and study. Homework/labs help your grade a lot too.
He is the best!!!!! Take him
He is a bless of the Core Curriculum Program. Take him! He made the otherwise boring topic of chemical molecules interesting. He makes me wanna learn!
Best core teacher. Memorize the answer for every question on the study guide and you will get an A. Lectures and labs are very boring but you have to go cause they both count towards your grade with in-class assignments.
takes his time and doesn't rush to teach things!
The professor is a very good professor who is really engaging in teaching. However, I do think there are too many concepts and detailed but unnecessary things to be remembered.
Great prof! a lot of materials make sure you finish the study guide on time if you don't want to rush at the end
Professor Jordan makes this core class engaging and manageable. The material is challenging but he provides great resources like study guides. I found unstuck AI really helpful for preparing for exams alongside the textbook. Definitely worth taking this class!
He is the best professor in NYU; he is so amazing with his lectures(clear notes, not very hard homework). All TAs are very nice and willing to help everyone. The lab requires attendance, but lectures do not. I highly recommend going to the lectures and you will find everything easy. The average of midterms and final is almost 90.
He's fine overall. However, he assigns too many lab quizzes, class exercises, and even an essay. I don't understand why a core has so much workload. Watching the recording is more efficient since he takes 40 minutes to read announcements every class.
Class is very chaotic and he is highly unorganized, often forgetting or writing wrong dates. I thought it was appalling that we did entire unit on HIV and he did not address any of the history or stigma around it. He says he is open to criticism, but once you give it, he basically says that he wont change any of it. Nice person, bad professor!
Super chill prof! Good lecturer and really nice dude. Homework and labs could get a bit much if you haven't taken sciences a lot, but he's a good professor so you should be fine. Much better than a lot of the other core profs, and he's down to earth too. Learned a lot.
