She is an amazing human being. In fact she's too good for Kwantlen, why isn't she teaching at a better school? Lectures are always interesting and well-structured. Probably the best prof at Kwantlen.

One of the best profs you can have. Actually cares about what she is teaching and responds quickly to emails. The type of work she will ask of you is relatively easy, but there is a lot of reading involved.

Awesome teacher and person, one of the best teachers I've ever had. Makes everything clear, and actually makes History interesting. I didn't find it hard, but I also worked pretty hard- so be prepared to work and do some writing- well worth it.

I had Tracey Kinney for history years ago (it now seems like) and I agree with all the good comments on this page. She is excellent. I am now doing a PhD program in history and she is still one of the profs who stands out in my mind.

Hi-frickin'-larious. Has a knack for explanining complicated events in History in an uncomplicated & interesting manner. Actually makes you want to learn. Friendly, easygoing, & not at all a bore. Essay proposal & progress report ensure that you get started on the term paper early. Anywho!!!

Tracey is the best. I got a crappy mark in this class but I don't feel too bad about it. I don't feel like I got what I deserved but you can't be mad at Tracey...she's just a great prof. Her classes are extremely interesting and she's as nice as profs get these days.

Tracey is a great history teacher, explains everything very well, is very helpful when you need help. The material often is challenging but as long as you give a good effort you will be rewarded. She clearly knows the material front and back. Funny and informative what else is there to say?

Fantastic prof. Tracey is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and has reasonable expectations. She has a kind heart, a great attitude to both history and learning, and an obvious love for what she teaches. Her marking is not "easy" but rather, fair. Her lectures are fun, interesting and very organized. She has my 100% recommendation.

I also took history with Tracey a while ago, but I have since completed my BA with a history major. Tracey was by far the best prof I ever had. She takes history, and makes you want to learn about it!

She's super funny and has one of the most bubbly personalities I have ever seen. Her feedback on your paper is super clear and she always adds her two cents on how it could be better. She enjoys interpretation of the historical content instead of regurgitating facts. And she's interested in people being creative. Take her class, DO IT NOW!!!

A wonderful teacher who is always willing to meet with her students! As a first year student who was stuck in a second year course because of a slip-up, I was terrified but Tracey totally made it so much easier! She will make you work for the grades for the presentations and essays though. Not the best class for someone not used to public speaking.

Tracey Kinney is awesome! Her lectures are really comprehensible and always very interesting, her midterm, final and final essay are all very fair. She focuses a lot less on numbers and dates and more on a time line perspective of things, and about "why" things happened. Really helpful, and a lot of fun. I recommend her :).

A fabulous teacher. Very funny, and she makes everything really interesting. She doesn't care about dates, but the reasons behind why things happened. She gives really good feedback on everything you hand in, so it's easy to improve. I'd take her again.

She doesn't care much about dates, and wants you to learn the whys behind history -- the interesting stuff! :) You definitely have to go to every class, but the only text book you have to read is the one of documents. A very good professor who enjoys the material she is teaching. I took her for both HIST 1130 and 1131 and want to take more courses with her. She is a fair marker on exams and papers. Her lecture notes are clear and she uses her document book every class. If you enjoy History take Tracey you will not regret it.

Great prof! Gets straight to the point and cares more about general concept rather than picky details. Very clear and enthusiastic. Don't bother buying the Oxford text, didn't need it. Straight forward exams and assignments. Enjoyed the class more than I thought I would.

She was by far the funniest and most entertaining prof i've had at kwantlen. she isnt afraid to be your friend and she works things out with you - not just making you memorize tons of things. but beware: either be a fast writer or carry a voice recorder (highly recommended) cause she can go fast - if so just ask her to slow down and she will.

Tracey is kind, funny, and generally gives informative lectures. Warning, she is a tough and slightly inconsistent marker and you will need to to work hard if you expect to do well. However, she's still recommended if you love history enjoy a more challenging class compared to other history profs.

Tracey is the best history Prof in Kwantlen. She cares about her student. Don't worry if you are not good at English and would have difficulty understanding the content in class. Just show whatever notes you get from class and she will tell you what is correct and what is incorrect in her office hour.Anyway she would be your great help and prof.

Tracey's class was great! Lectures were really interesting and informative, but can be a bit long at times. Take good notes in class and you'll do fine in exams. Very approachable. Pretty lenient marker for the exams and term paper. Your mark will be reflective of your effort. Good professor overall! would recommend to other students.

Tracey is a great instructor! She has a great personality that she conveys in her lectures. The course had a lot of information but she makes sure to cover only the key points. There are no notes on the slides, only pictures with headings, so you really have to come to class in order to pass. She is flexible on the assignments and is always helpful

Marking is too meticulous for a first year class. We are all not history majors nor do we have phD's. Tracey please read this and lower your expectations, thanks!

As great as of a person she is, her marking is tough. Impossible to get above 85% on assignments because she will tear your assignments apart similar to an english prof. Our class only has one exam whereas her previous hist 1131 had more so its all written assignments which she will just dock marks on the smallest of things. Trust me she is tough

There are weekly assignments worth 1% which you shouldn't expect higher than a 70% on and then theres the 2 big papers which you should pray to get even a 65% on because she will critique it so hard. A perfect assignment doesn't exist in her class, even if you think you did great, she'll say you can still do better. Its so frustrating. Avoid her!!!

Tracey is awesome, definitely take her! She does class discussion, group discussion, and has opportunities to get participation marks outside of discussion, which introverts like me really appreciate. She's funny and really makes the topic super interesting. She has great class control and organization. She's a fair but not tough marker.

Tracey is amazing. This class was pretty easy in regards to assignments - but a very heavy topic. Reading can be a bit much because of the book review for such a small amount of credit but TWO books; however, you can read the two books the night before.

Tracy is super nice and great at what she does. She made my first class at KPU really chill. Her lectures are very interesting, never dull. As long as you study for the exam you'll do fine. There was one paper and one 5 minute presentation in her class, midterm and final. Tracey is very helpful and always answers her emails! 10/10 would recommend!

Like every professor, he will be hard and uneasy. Though, his lectures are funny and awesome! Don't think twice, take his classes, you'll be amazed.

Tracey was overall very nice and extremely well organized. I took hist 1130 online and even before the first day of class all the content and necessary information was online. Overall not a consuming or tough class. Definitely recommend doing the weekly participation.

Out of all the online professors I've had she has been by far one of the bests. Never had her in person though. I found her to be a fair and sometimes generous marker, hard to tell because so many profs make things easier online. Projects were straightforward and fairly easy. I would take her again but I wouldn't rush to be in her class.

I've had her class on two occasions and I'm going for a third. The first time in HIST 1130 was excellent had fun, attend lectures. The book is necessary in that class, mostly cause of primary documents. Second attempt got a C+ but she struggled due to one student cutting her off during lectures making it hard for everyone to learn. But my fav.

Tracey was willing to help students struggling with assignments if you ask. She gives good feedback on assignments, which is helpful going forward. I highly recommend taking her classes if you get a chance.
