Dr. Sitzmann is one of the best professors at UCD. She explains the material and prepares you for the exam - so long as you study for it. She is a high quality professor and builds a relationship with her students that will help you outside of the classroom. Fantastic, but tough professor!
She acts like she is teaching 1st graders, and is way too into class activities that are pointless and a waste of your time. Her voice is extremely annoying but if you can get over her acting like your 5, and the extremely pointless lectures, then her class is super easy.
Fantastic class! I learned a lot that I know will help me when I graduate.
She knows what the text book says but cannot explains well. She only repeats what the book says... You really do not need her lecture, you just need to read the book to pass her class.
Class is not very hard but she is clearly a crazy person. Manic. Voice is annoying and she makes it worse with her poor teaching. Not recommended.
Great class. I learned a lot from this professor
Class was fairly easy. All of her lectures are available online and basically reflect everything you can read in the text. Not necessary to show up to class. The HUGE group assignment required for the class included a volunteer project which was actually really fun. Easy to make friends in this class due to the required interaction.
This course is very easy and lectures and textbook are identical. I did not mind the class except to say that if you have a poor group for the volunteer project it can get very stressful. Not really Traci's fault though. I did not mind the lecture or online portion. I found this teacher very helpful when issues did arise.
It baffles me that the University allowed her to teach a class. Especially a management class when she her way of dealing with students is immature. I was actually threatened by her that if I spoke up again in class (which I was trying to debate a theory) that I would be removed by the police. I felt bad til she wouldn't let me apologize...
Great professor! She is a tough teacher and gives accurate/sometimes harsh feedback, however, she is extremely knowledgeable about the topics she teaches. I recommend taking a class with her if you are willing to be engaged and study! I liked her!!!
She's okay, not a great professor or terrible one. She is corky in her own way but understands the material. Like most professors I've taken classes with at UCD, reads off PPT and requires you to read on your own. But she is lenient on grading group projects. Recommended for non Management Majors.
Can simply read the book to pass the class. Interpersonal communication could be better--she comes off rude and inpatient if you come to her with questions and don't frame them well.
She is the worst of the worst. I have never seen such a duplicity from a professor like the oneI have seen in this So-called"Professor". She had promised that she would make a curve at the end of the semester, but Guess What! She reneged on her promise for inexplicable reasons. She went ahead with all nerviness to dole out "F"s and "D"s.
I thought the class was fairly easy. All you had to do was turn in two papers and score half way decent on the two tests.
The class itself is pretty straight forward and easy. Took it as a hybrid so all the lecture content was online and class was used for group activities. The entire semester is spent working in a group that she chooses for you.
Luckily, I had a great group for this class. (The TA will pick them for you). I personally struggle with multiple choice tests but she created the course that even if you do bad on the test you can still get a B in the class through participation, creativity, and team project. She is very fast at responding to emails!
As a student that works part time I appreciate being able to do some of the group project in class and view the lectures online. Traci was very fast at getting back to me when I had a question. Overall I think this was one of the better Management classes I have taken at UCD.
Had this professor for MGMT 3000. Huge waste of money, learned nothing that could be deemed useful. The group project is a nightmare and her grading seems to be arbitrary for certain assignments. She comes off as condescending and perhaps a little unhinged. Quick to respond to e-mail, but not very helpful and can be confusing. Avoid if you can.
This is one of the worst teachers I have EVER had. All she cares about is bragging about herself and her family. You learn more about her inflated ego then you do management. If you wanna learn management, take it with someone who knows how to manage their own class. Yelling in students faces in the middle of the class is clearly not professional.
Had Professor Sitzmann for MGMT300 and I loved the class. If you don't like working in groups or interacting with other students this may not be the class for you. The online content was great and we met in class on Mondays to go over the online content and work in groups.I would take her for other subjects as well if I could.
If you like to pay for classes and learn nothing this is for you! Teacher is unwilling to help even the students who try hard and instead cares about childish activities.
There should be a pre req of film editing if you decide to take this course with her. A massive portion of your grade is from one group project. Half of that grade comes from a paper and the other half is a 10 minute video you have to make. She grades pretty harshly on how enjoyable it is to watch your video. Tough when all you have is an Iphone.
If you review the syllabus and follow all the deadlines you should be able to pull at least a B in this class. Try to get the big group project done early. The class iso hybrid and there is good material online.
The class itself wasn't too hard. Traci, however, is a very strict grader (particularly on the final and the paper more than the other tests). If you hate group projects, don't take this class. The study guides she gives are quite helpful, however, she's never around for the test itself (makes the TA do it). Self-centered, but not too hard.
Dr. Sitzmann does a good job of focusing on a few, highly useful things throughout the semester. She consistently gives awkward, assumptive feedback in person. This can get offensive and odd, but she doesn't mean it. The material she teaches is mostly useful, which is not true of all MGMT courses.
This class is very different from other MGMT classes. It's a hybrid so half the class is online and the other half is in person. I enjoyed the format a great deal especially since there is a lot of good content online. The group project wasn't much fun but that's not Traci's fault. Overall I enjoyed the semester.
She is a lazy teacher. She has ten year which I guess means that she doesn't really have to follow through or have good communication with her students. She depends on her student teachers to pretty much do her job.
Awful , the worst professor ever !!! She doesn't care about her students .
Although there's something positive to be said for a professor who stands by their syllabus-set policies, it is superfluous if those policies create a combative environment. The course (your grade) is based off of a group project where you are all ranked by personality. If your group doesn't like you, they may elect to kick you out of the class.
ABSOLUTE WORST. If you have a job, other classes, or even want a social life do not take her. She requires you to do a group project with 5 other team members but if you all have other obligations it's impossible, which she doesn't care about. She blatantly said this course has nothing to do with management but it will "teach" you to be a leader?
I was Traci's TA so I'm a bit bias but she is absolutely fair in her grading policies in that you get the grade you earn. She also turns abound papers and deailted feedback quickly. Some people might think she isn't easy to deal with but for the kids that are successful in her class she provides great references and is a well respected scholar.
One group project is most of your grade- but she gives plenty of class time for this. If you research the material on her 1 page study guide then you will get an A on exams. You get your exam score in less than 24 hours. Also go to class because your peer review grade asks for attendance.
I really liked the way the class is setup. Online lectures were good - clarifies what we would see both in the real world and our tests allows students to take away more. Professor is knowledgeable and passionate.
Overall very straight forward and challenging class. Don't worry the group project--she provides clear guidelines and assistance throughout the semester. She's a very nice and caring professor.
Dr. Sitzmann is great. She is an absolute professional and has a thorough understanding of all the course material. She's a tough grader, which I don't mind. The group project challenged me and made me really develop my writing, leadership and management skills. I left her class better prepared to lead others and to be successful. take her class!
The majority of your grade is based on the group project that takes up an insane amount of time. She is a tough grader and takes away points for the smallest of hiccups. Aside form that, she's a great person and does give good feedback. Watch the videos and you will do fine.
Traci cared about my learning. She was always willing to help our team and explain to us what we could work on. Was available to answer questions or provide assistance when needed. For example, she was great at responding to emails quickly and in a timely manner. Explained the grading criteria for assignments. I really enjoyed this class.
The in class lectures and the online resources gave me what I needed to succeed in this class. Overall, it was a very productive, beneficial, and enjoyable class.
The hybrid course allowed for more flexibility in my schedule which was nice. She also posted lectures online so most of our actual class meetings were more engaging and helpful. I really liked how she used real world examples to help understand the material.
Amazing teacher, excellent course
I was beyond impressed by the quality of this Professor. She was tough and expected more from me than any professor I've ever had. In the process, she pushed me to know myself and others better and because I rose to the challenge, I exit this class a more qualified, well-rounded student that is prepared for the workforce.
Being able to consistently receive feedback in a timely manner helped my writing. Hard grader which made me a better writer as well. This class did a good job in showing how to work in teams effectively.
I loved that the course was half online and half in person. In addition, I liked that we had the opportunity to say at the end of the semester who did more work than others in regards to the team project.
The hybrid layout was well organized and methodical. Study sessions prior to exams were beneficial and helped to prepare in the best manner. Professor actually cared about students and course content, actually wanted to be here to foster a quality learning environment.
I loved the team project. It really forced students to work together and use course material in real time.
Traci was able to communicate her expectations effectively, and it was always a pleasure to attend her lecture. This is one of the few courses I have had, where it does not truly function as a lecture-based course. Traci does not stand up there and relay us information, thanks to the hybrid course and our ability to learn the information online.
The in-class exercises were always fun/interactive and allowed class members to fully engage with the learning material. Being able to provide a team-based working environment is very successful, and was successfully implemented.
The video lectures were phenomenal. Very engaging and great at how you explain every topic to make the course easy to understand. The content was fun and applicable to real life.
Group project was good. I loved working in groups and figuring out how to form a synergistic team.
I was able to grow a lot from the course material combined with this particular professor and her high expectations for me. The group assignment was extremely helpful for learning how material will apply to the workplace.
I feel that the team project, excluding the paper, was a great experience that opened my eyes to many more aspects of collaboratively working with others to achieve a common goal. I did not like the project in the beginning; however, the project became my favorite part of the class besides our personality unit.
I'm very thankful for this course because of how applicable it will be later on in my career when I am potentially managing several coworkers at a company or in any other setting.
The course is incredibly practical. You are learning about leadership and teams and get to put the concepts converted each week into practice, primarily via a group project. I especially learned a lot by giving and receiving 360-degree feedback from my teammates.
Moody, insecure professor w/ extreme lack of self awareness- reviews that say she loves to brag about $$$ and is unstable are 100% accurate. Mandatory class is often a live version of her recorded lectures. Refuses to be direct, makes word salad out of anything you say. Grades the grammar on your FEEDBACK. Nightmare group project. Grovel or suffer.
Won't directly tell you what she expects and an extremely tough grader. If you ask questions/participate she will grill you in front of everyone. Talks too much about herself, comes off as bragging. HUGE group project, 10 page paper and 5 min video. Tries to encourage fights in the group projects. High expectations and little direction.
Class content is very very very easy. However some assignments were unnecessarily graded strictly. The paper is a group project and she's no joke about grammar and English skills. If you have a group that lacks off be prepared to do the majority of the work. There was another big group project at the end. Class assignment structure was confusing.
The professor brings extremely relevant and timely examples to class each week to illustrate what we are learning. Online lectures are engaging. Learn applicable skills--writing, presenting, teamwork. Highly recommend!
Group projects in an online class is ridiculous. Says that if you cant make time to meet every week with a team for 3 hours for 16 weeks, you need to drop her class. Very unprofessional and rude.
Horrible teacher. The one meeting I had with her she was so sarcastic and made me look stupid. This class is not it. HORRIBLE teacher, I would rather stick a straw up my urethra than take this class with her again.
She doesn't like when students ask questions and can be hard to get ahold of. The lectures are pretty easy and if you follow the study guide the tests are not bad but they are proctored. Group project not too bad if you have a good group, if you get put with slackers it will be a lot more work for you. Easy weekly quizzes though.
The great divide across students is whether you are willing to put in effort. For students that want to slack, it is likely that you will not get away with these behaviors as easily in this class--Traci is not tolerant of social loafing. But if you are looking for a class that will challenge you to increase your skills, you will love this class!
I learned a lot about myself. The team project was the highlight of the semester for me. I loved the course. You did an amazing job putting it all together.
Her lectures are very interactive and engaging; she includes articles, videos, and podcasts throughout. She also does a great job of answering students' questions quickly. Overall, I really enjoyed her class and learned a lot about managing teams, which has helped me in my current job.
Class teaches foundational MGMT knowledge as well as writing and presentation skills. Traci pushes students to excel, which after reading the reviews, is seen as offensive by some. Only take this class if you want to be challenged.
Best class I have ever taken. Detailed feedback is provided on all papers--super helpful for ensuring I am a great writer when I graduate. Lectures are interesting and engaging.
Best. Class. Ever! Engaging lectures. Useful feedback. Immediate replies to my emails. What more could you ask for?
Favorite class I have taken at CU! Interesting material that you can immediately apply at work. Thorough feedback. Timely responses to emails. And Traci is truly invested in your learning. Sign up now!
This class is excellent! You work as a team and receive weekly feedback on your work. My writing skills improved substantially throughout the process!
Prof. Stizmann is a great professor who really focuses on helping students understand how to work in groups. She's very supportive during the semester and will step in and help if you reach out.
Professor Sitzmann is great! She is a bit of a tough grader, but she provides ample feedback that can be used to get a better grade in later assignments. There is a semester team project, so get ready to work with others, and she takes participation in these projects seriously! Don't slack off or you'll lose points on your final grade!
Dr. Sitzmann may be the least effective professor I have encountered on this campus. She refuses to take criticism and ensures that nobody speaks up against her by having us complete a feedback essay BEFORE the final exams, negative feedback results in a loss of points.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Unless you are a genius you will not pass her exams. These questions go against what is taught in class. They are worded in an ambiguous or ridiculously specific manner. It doesn't help when class presentations were clearly copy and pasted from the internet (they are also read by Microsoft Sam and you must listen to them).
Very Grader, Unnecessary assignments and work load, Sends peer review to the whole group.
She is an extremely tough grader. Ridiculously strict for such a simple concept course. Large portion of your grade is fully multiple choice word heavy exams. Exam reviews are 10-18 pages, but are closed note exams. I was (due to this class) a 4.0 student and struggled with maintaining my grade.
Very difficult professor who uses straw man gaslighting to control her class. We had complete a feedback forum before the official anonymous forums were released. Negative feedback would give you a bad grade.
I absolutely loved this class. You receive extensive feedback on all assignments. Yes, the professor is tough, but if you put in the work, you will learn a lot. Lectures are engaging and super enjoyable!
I greatly enjoyed this class. The class has a great layout, including lectures that make learning fun! I liked how you had the option to meet with your teaching assistant for test reviews and to earn 5% back- that was a great way to help us learn the material and take accountability for understanding what we missed.
You spend a lot of time on group projects, but the course teaches you to be better at group work. Interesting lectures. I learned a lot.
I liked the team projects in this course because they gave me a chance to demonstrate my leadership skills and practice collaboration and communication. All the concepts we learned have been really beneficial to me and have helped me understand how business functions better. The feedback on our papers was helpful for improving my writing skills.
If you want to work hard and learn about teamwork, you will love the class. For those of you not interested in putting in effort, perhaps you should choose another professor. Engaging lectures, weekly assignments, and challenging tests.
Highly engaging lectures. Major group projects to illustrate course concepts. Excellent response time if you need help from the professor.
You will receive lots of writing practice. I did not love it at the time, but the feedback helps you grow. it seems worth it.
Beware, this professor does not take criticism well. She wrote fake positive reviews on her own page (look at the date these reviews were submitted).
She is definitely posting ratings for herself. I was in a GroupMe with almost everyone in my section of the class, and NO ONE had anything positive to say, let alone that many 5/5 stars! If you closely read all of the 5/5 star reviews they all have the same tone. Very obviously not written by students in my opinion. AVOID HER!
First class I ever had to drop. This professor is genuinely unwell!!!! She gets upset for no reason at all and snaps at her students. Not professional!
Dr. Sitzmann may be the worst professor I have had the displeasure of taking. She hates being asked questions and her exams are straight up unfair for what is expected (wordy questions with zero open book).
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES! She does not know how to teach or even act professional. She requires you to complete a feedback forum BEFORE the official ones come out, she will then remove a lot of points for anything that sounds like criticism of her.
Awful course and teaching, the exams are lengthy and she does not allow use of open notes. She also gets really upset when you ask questions.
Unprofessional tough grader. Does not like being asked questions about the course. Sad!
Traci is a nightmare to take, not only is she a tough grader, she gets very upset with her students for the smallest reasons. I would suggest viewing the painting Narcissus by Caravaggio to get the full picture.
