Likes to tell stories; is very fun! Tests are semi-hard.
She makes class fun, but tests are hard.
She's fun and is really good at relating the material to real life. Not bad to look at either.
she needs to learn to stay on the subject. far too many tangents and dumb stories. she is, however very knowledgeable and seems interested in her courses
Overall, I like her alot. Tests are hard but she pretty much tells you what is going to be on them. She uses lots of examples and stories to help you learn.
passionate about teaching. She makes you think. exams are difficult. I like that she's from the south, it kinda makes her different and interesting.
She's a lot of fun and a really great prof. I've loved having her!
She is a nice person, not a good teacher. Basically a walking text book and classes are dull. Overheads are terrible and not helpful. Says she values discussion but does NOT encourage it. Tests are unfair. Don't take her 8:50, staying awake is tough.
Loved her! Learned a lot even though lots of cramming for summer. She's wickedly funny, smart, never boring.****chicks in class drool over her.
She is such a fun prof!I was so scared off by her class, but she is really fun!her tests are challanging, but she is very clear and direct what will be on it. I would recommend her!
This professor is awesome. I always look forward to what we're going to learn in class. She keeps class interesting. Tests are relatively difficult, but if you keep up with everything they're not too bad.
I hope to be a teacher like her someday. She is the only professor here who really challenges me to think critically. To question things. Just Excellent.
Blumentritt is an answesome professor. She always comes to class full of energy and makes the class fun. Her exams can be hard, but it is definitly worth it to take her class.
Fun class but exams are HARD!! MUST READ EVERY SINGLE WORD IN THE BOOK! Same with Educational Psych
I thought she was engaging and fun.
She was very interesting and was able to keep the class moving along in a timely fashion without things getting too boring. Her tests are difficult and require a decent amount of preparation to do well. Certainly recommended.
She is a really good professor! She is super funny and can be off-the-wall but she makes class interesting! If you study for her tests, you can get an A. She's not overly difficult but you can't just slack off either. I recommend her...you never know what she might say!
Fun lady, I enjoyed listening to her stories, but her class kind of sucks. The textbook is dry and requires a lot of reading. Exams are pretty difficult, no matter how hard I studied I would always get a B.
She annoyed me so bad. Tests are really hard, she tests on the book, not on the lecture. I got so sick of listening to her talk, she tries to act like she's a teen, but she's not. Talks too much about herself.
Dr. Blumentritt is interesting and engaging. She does a good job of getting me to think about things in a different way. I have really enjoyed her class even though the exams are hard.
3rd prof for PSY 100. She is enthusiastic and has some funny things to say...her test was more about applying what you know, and her notes did jump around a bit. Overall, she was a good and fun teacher...better than Bogart. Fun in small group critical thinking sections.
Difficult exams-read, read, read
Excellent professor. Great sense of humor, never know what she is going to say! Defintley makes you think about things.
this was such a difficult class - don't take it if you're expecting an easy A. she talks a lot about the same things over and over again, and she gets off subject a lot. her exams cover lots of book material and things she didn't explain clearly in class. she talks about texas every day, too.
Great professor! excelelnt sense of humor, and really knows her stuff. If you want to think, take her class.
hot. nice. friendly. interesting. funny. go go go
Not a very hard class as long as you take notes and read the book. She leaves out your worst grade on an exam so that's nice. She tells funny stories and kind of bounces around a little but she knows what she's talking about.
Blumentritt rocks! You'll love her!
I loved her! Her tests are kind of challenging, but I did well in the class...and I think I picked up the book only once. She's entertaining and fun. Good class, good professor!
she's funny and interesting. she seemed like a really good teacher til i read the book. she left out a LOT of stuff from her lectures that are in the book and on the test. her test was pretty hard. but she's fun. i enjoyed her unit of psych 100.
I thought that the questions on the exams were a bit confusing. I knew my stuff going into the exams, but it was hard to figure out what the questions were really asking. There were a lot of those really long questions that really don't seem to be asking anything in particular, and none of the answers seem to go with the question either.
She's just a trip! Very smart, funny, keeps you interested, and you can tell she loves psycholog. Use the exam guide she gives you and you should do okay on exams
Blumentritt's pretty awesome. Very clear, knowledgeable, tells funny stories. Exams are hard, but she gives you a study guide. I think she is a very kind person.
Basically what the other people said. Good professor that likes teaching with enthusiam.............but the tests suck.....bigtime.
great prof!
This lady just blows me away. She's so interesting I don't think I missed one single class all semester. But you really have to study for the exams.
Really a cool teacher, liked her a lot!
Great lecturer and very interesting. This lady is really smart, scary smart. Gives you a exam guide which helps a lot on the tests. Definately recommend her.
I look forward to going to going to her class! Very interesting lecturer and great sense of humor. She's passionate about education and teaching. Her tests can be difficult but she does give you a study guide and tell you the essay question in advance, so that helps a lot.
Clearly loves her subject. I finally didn't mind going to a psychology class because of how interesting she made this class. Great woman, great professor. Exams are not that hard but do require studying. Take her for 370!
Easy class if you study. Read the sections of the book that she outlines in the study guide. Only one out of class assignment. Final isn't cumulative. Energetic teacher.
I found this class to be one of my more challenging classes. The exams were difficult to me because of the scenario type of questions. She was entertaining. Mid-term, final and a handful of easy in-class writing assignments used for attendance.
Dr. Blumentritt is a great professor! She is funny, very personable, easy to talk to, and interesting. It was the one class I never had trouble staying awake in, no matter how tired I was. The course material isn't too hard, and all you have to do is pay attention and read a little. I recommend the course.
She's extremely interesting and passionate about the material; it's because of her class that I discovered what I want to study and eventually have a career in. There are four tests, each covering about three chapters; if you take notes in class, complete the study guides and study from them, a good grade is attainable.
such an awesome professor--lecture was actually fun to come to. sure, it's not the easiest A, but you will for sure learn a lot and laugh along the way
I found this class very interesting. Blumentritt is a great teacher, and she makes me want to teach as well. Tests can be hard but she gives you a study guide before each one and even lets you drop the lowest of the first three.
Best professor I have ever had! I never missed a class. She is clear, interesting, and very funny. After every class I felt like I learned something new, or thought about things in a different. I wish she taught more classes.
Wonderful, interesting professor! Her tests are kinda hard, but if you go to the lectures and occasionally read the book, you'll be fine. Her lectures are always so interesting. Take her if you can!
I found her class very interesting and entertaining-even after deciding halfway through the semester that I was not an education major anymore! :) Definitely take if you get the chance!!
Extraordinarily intelligent and interesting professor. Makes material exciting and engaging. Exams are tough but overall fair since you can drop the lowest of the first three and extra credit is offered.
Be careful, she is fun and a very good lecturer, but the tests are hard and often tricky. Got B's on all the tests (except the final), participated everyday, and turned in daily work, to my great surprise, ended up with a C. (2nd C ever!) And nothing I can do about it now.
She makes class so interesting and exciting. Her stories are hilarious! Tests can be tough but as long as you read the questions carefully you'll do fine. Plus, you get to drop your lowest test score. I would encourage you to read the chapters, once I began to read them more carefully I did better on my exam. Definitely take her!!
Tests are hard but she's awesome. I haven't missed a class yet.
She's a funny teacher, rarely a dull moment, but her tests are extremely hard. It's a class you must go above and beyond what you're used to for studying.
Really fun and easy to pay attention to! She has some great stories that relate to the topics studied. Tests are fairly difficult but just pay attention and read, and you'll be fine.
Tracie is HILARIOUS! She has a relevant story for everything and keeps class fun and interesting. Tests are some what hard but she gives a clear study guide in advance and drops your lowest test score. She also offers extra credit. No outside assignments besides reading in order to prepare for tests. I highly recommend taking her class!
Dr. Blumentritt is awesome! Great sense of humor and very enthusiastic. I like that she makes me think about things in a different way. Tests are pretty hard but she tells you what is on them. highly recommend her!
Extremely opinionated. Presents data which doesn't necessarily prove her point. Wastes half of class with movies and stories and gives detailed exams based on readings alone. I would not take her again.
I really enjoyed attending class. She kept it interesting. She would get off on tangents in class sometimes, but those were probably the best part of class. She never tested you on anything she didn't cover in class. She also adjusts the syllabus to meet the pace of the class and drops your lowest test score.
Great prof! Learned a whole lot from her. I hope I teach with as much passion and enthusiasm as Dr. B
This lady is a hoot. I love going to her class, and her tests are very straight forward. I wish I had other classes to take from her. She's super wacky sometimes, but in a good way. She gets distracted by her own thoughts, and tells really random stories that keep the class entertaining. Take her!
Loved Tracie! Very entertaining and interesting lectures. She made morning class fun and enjoyable. Very helpful in and outside of class. I'd definately take her again!
Dr. B is awesome! Take a class from her if you can. She's interesting and funny. She also makes me think about my own teaching and other things. I hope I'm half the teacher she is.
This professor is great. She can be awkward sometimes but entertaining. Shes passionate about teaching and is very helpful. Her class consists of 5 tests and she drops your lowest score. The tests make you think and are moderately difficult and hard to prepare for even if you know the material.
Overall, the class wasn't bad. She gets preoccupied often and goes off on tangents about random things. Very flexible with scheduling. Tests weren't too bad but you definitely needed to read the text to do well. She was really nice & approachable!
She is so funny and makes class interesting. Follow her notes and you will do just fine on the tests.
She is hilarious! I love going to this class everyday. Some outside of class reading is necessary; a lot of questions on the exams are only from the book but she specifies this the syllabus. A few papers but they're super easy and can be written in about 45 minutes. Take this class!!!
She is super funny. Basically if you listen in class, bs some papers, and read the chapters before an exam then you'll do fine. She is a great teacher and I was always interested in what she was saying.
Genes & environment was one of the hardest classes I have taken at UWL. But Blumentritt knows her stuff and I learned a whole lot. I would recommend you take a senior level course with her if you can. She is also very kiind and understanding of student situations.
Nice lady, knows a lot but oh my, the tests are extremely hard! And tests are the only graded work in that class so watch out. Test questions are so tricky it seems as though 3 out of the 4 multiple choice could seem right. I study for hours on hours and got B/C on all the exams. it's trick questions. Take someone else
You have to study for exams! She is a great lecturer and very kind. I really enjoyed this class and learned a lot.I recommend her for sure!
Easy class. If you read through your notes and skim through the textbook before exams you'll get an A. Only have to do papers but she is an easy grader. She is really funny and makes lecture interesting.
She can be a bit scattered but she's always interesting. I love her enthusiasm for teaching. It's true that you have to study for the exams.
I really enjoyed her class! She is very nice and approachable. Tests are difficult, strongly recommend going to class and reading the chapters. Harder than I expected, but she is a very good professor. Really kind, enthusiastic, and funny-definitely take her! :)
She's one of the best profs at UW-L. Take any of her classes if you get a chance. She's also one of the kindest people I know.
She's a pretty good lecturer... I usually don't have problems with professors, but she is an exception. When I tried to meet with her in office hours, she was not helpful. She even ignored an arrangement that she suggested and when I asked for help before the test, she stated I was studying badly, not answering my questions about course materials.
She's brilliant and funny and interesting.Take a class from her if you can. You do have to study for exams.
I absolutely loved her class. She is a great lecturer and make class interesting! You have to study for the test but it is actually an interesting class to study for. I would highly recommend her as a professor! One of the Best professors I've had.
She has a really in depth knowledge of her part of the class, but she is over-enthusiastic. Nice lady, but the note taking is all off of outlines and really dry. I found it hard to pay attention most of the time due to her over-excitement.
One of my favorite professors ever! Keeps lecture interesting with stories and examples. She is very quirky and funny! Lecture is off an outline, but if you study that and do the readings you will do well! More than willing to meet/help in office hours. You can tell she has a passion for education and cares about her students! Take her!!
Blumentritt is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Sometimes goes off on tangents but she is very kind and you can tell she really cares about students. Her tests are tough but she give you an exam guide which really helps. Highly recommend her.
Blumentritt is an amazing professor! I learned a lot about how to work with students/young people. She does tend to go on little tangents, but the information relevant to it really sticks with you because of it. I highly recommend her, whether you need the class or not.
Horrible with technology so sometimes she can't get certain parts of a powerpoint to show so she skips it and tells you to make sure you know it for the test. Attendance for her unit is not mandatory as long as you read and take notes from the modules
I've taken every class I can with Dr. B. She's very funny and easy going in class and you can tell she is passionate about education. Take her if you can!
There was no prerequisite for a bio class, but being a student who hadn't had bio since high school made it very difficult for the first half of the course. Material is clear but adds topics we never discussed in class to the exams.
Lot of respect for Blumentritt. Just the right amount of work for a class. You learn a lot, her stories and examples are always entertaining and she can be funny whether or not she realizes it. Very passionate and helpful. Great professor, fair grader.
Dr. Blumentritt is an excellent professor. Highly recommend you take a class with her. Fun, full of great stories, study for exams
Dr. B is an amazing professor. Take a class with her if you can. Very smart and funny.
Tracie is a super nice lady. A bit scatterbrained at points, but you can tell she's passionate. Her stories are funny and she's easy to listen to. However, know that her exams ARE difficult. You can't skim the material and expect to pass.
I've taken pretty much every class she teaches. You can tell she loves psychology and is passionate about teaching it. You do have to study and read textbook, and requires a term paper, but workload is managable if u keep up. TAKE A CLASS WITH HER!
The only way you're going to do well on tests is by reading the book. Lectures are valuable except for when preparing for the exams and lack content. Questions come from pages she doesn't specify; tests hard but she drops one. You'll see why once you take them, but as a future teacher I don't see the point in that, I'd just them more appropriate.
Dr. Blumentritt is hilarious, passionate and knowledgeable about her field, and caring and willing to help. Her lectures are a bit scattered, but she gets the main points across. Exams are standard, 30 MC questions and two short few paragraph questions. One bigger group project and a research paper but she's REALLY helpful and an easy grader too.
I 10/10 recommend taking any class by Dr. B! She knows so much and is so passionate about psychology which makes class very interesting and enjoyable. She tends to get off topic, but is always clear on what she expects on exams and papers and is hilarious! I've taken multiple classes with her and she is great!!
If you have the chance take a class with Dr. B. Her exams are a little challenging but she gives you a study guide. Teaches with real passion.
Dr. B is very passionate about psychology which is evident through her lectures. Veers off on tangents sometimes, albeit they're quite interesting. Likes to show videos, which adds to course material comprehension. Term paper, and cumulative exams which require proper studying and prep. Great professor and fun class, learned a lot.
Tracie did a nice job of making this class manageable and interesting even though it was online vs in-class. The exams were a bit tough, but she always curved the grades upward if certain questions had poor statistics. There is a 12-15 page paper and a group project, but they are easy if you work on them throughout the semester.
Do whatever you can to not take a class with Tracie. She will never respond to your emails, her exams have absolutely nothing you learned in class or in the readings on them, and she is so scatterbrained. She will cancel exams and classes or change dates and not tell you!!! Shes hilarious and a nice person, but a terrible professor.
Tracie is very hard to follow. She goes on tangents that don't really relate to the book, and her exams have nothing to do with what she teaches/lectures on. Only way to pass an exam is to read and memorize basically the entire textbook. She also cancels classes which leads to lack of important information that is on the exams. Try not to take her.
Take a class from Dr. B if you can. She teaches with enthusiasm and is really fun. She's also the absolute the kindest professor I know.
Tracie Blumentritt is hilarious. Her lectures are written down on paper that she later posts online. She sometimes gets off topic with her stories, but they are entertaining. The online discussions and in class activities are graded easily. The exams can be challenging because she does not give a lot of information in lecture so she has to fill it.
Very passionate about education and really funny. Printed out vague outline that she would go over on overhead. Going to class will help you understand it way more. Material seemed easy, so the exams were more difficult than I thought, but still didn't need to study more than two nights beforehand.
Professor Blumentritt is fun, but her lectures are not very organized. It is mostly just talking off topic and then frantically taking notes that we missed while talking. If you show up, you will get good grades. We are only graded on exams and in-class activities 1-2x a week. She's nice and the content is good and that's pretty much it!
Dr. Blumentritt was a SUPER nice person, but her lectures were sort of unorganized, so you did have to read the textbook before the exams in order to get a good grade on them. She didn't take attendance, but I'd go to class because Canvas was also a bit unorganized. She knew what she was talking about and has great stories though.
Prof Blumentritt was a great professor to take for an online class. She gives a lot of resources that match the course material pretty well and really a hard grader. Her tests were a little difficult but since the class average was low she curved the test. Would have been nice to hear her lecture so everything would connect more.
Meant well, but was too political. Constantly felt like she was trying to indoctrinate us- essentially if you didn't agree with her personal beliefs, you're wrong. Content was interesting but there were little to no lectures, so online was very reading heavy. Exams were difficult and timed, seemed like new concepts appears on exams.
She's alright, she shared a lot about her personal life which is a different experience for every student. I didn't enjoy it though, it was very pushy. I still respect her, however. The exams were hard even with me doing all the reading and content. I personally would not take her again, probably would've enjoyed the class more w/o politics
She is very unorganized, constantly changing due dates and not posting the course modules or drop boxes etc on canvas on time and does not respond to emails. She also constantly inserts her own opinions on COVID and the vaccine into the class completely unrelated to the course in every class announcement.
Very nice lady, just very unorganized and hard to reach. There were many times when my classmates and I collectively did not understand due dates and were unable to connect with her over email. She is very sweet when you come up to her with concerns, but is just hard to understand during lecture as she frequently goes off tangent.
Dr. B can be really disorganized at times which can be frustrating and confusing. There are often fun little class activities that we turn in for credit, and three exams throughout the semester and a cumulative final exam. However, she is a fun professor and lectures are engaging - most of the time.
Dr.B is one of the quirkiest people I have ever met. She has wonderful intentions however she seems a little behind and makes careless comments about students weight/appearance/mental health that were triggering. Tests are about half textbook material and half random things she mentioned aside from the lecture. Very confusing and doesnt get tech.
Dr. B was is a fun professor but can be incredibly disorganized and distracted at times. At times she used a topic outline instead of a powerpoint which made it hard to learn the material as she went through it so fast. Exams were not super easy but not super hard; sometimes there will be random questions and the final is cumulative!
Dr. B is clearly passionate about this course and had fun teaching it. At the end of the semester we had a discussion post and assignment where we needed to watch hour long videos for each, and sometimes didn't mention anything about assignments and just posted them to Canvas, but overall not many assignments throughout the semester.
Really hard to communicate. Also tests were extremely difficult as they were on specific things in the textbook rather than what was the main topics from the textbook and slideshows. Also was fast paced which was okay for me, but was really weighted heavy on tests which sometimes had questions that were impossible.
Tracie has a funny personality that would be great outside of class. Her lecture slides barely contain any info and your understanding of the class is based on how good of notes you take. There is no study guide offered and even if she gives what I wouldn't even consider an exam "review", it is broad and gives no help as to what's on the exam.
Dr. B is probably the best professor I've had at UWL. She is knowledgeable and passionate about psychology and children's development. Take her classes if you can and study for the exams.
Dr. Blumentritt is a very kind person who cares a lot about students and is very passionate. I did learn a lot in this class but you do have to put in a lot of effort outside of class time to succeed on exams. Your grade is pretty much composed of four exams, one of which is the cumulative final exam. You will need to study VERY hard for these!
Dr. B was so much fun and enjoyable to have for lectures, but so disorganized. She would get distracted by the slightest sound and then let us out of class early. You really want to write down what she's saying, not what's on the slide and then study like crazy for your exams.
Dr. Blumentritt was a really good professor in my opinion. She's not great with technology and is a little spastic, but I really just thought that is was humorous. She is really a great person and makes lectures fun. You're graded mostly just on three multiple choice tests and a final. They are challenging but totally doable! I loved this class!
she seems very knowledgeable and passionate, however she is very disorganized and scatter-brained which can make lectures hard to follow. she's funny and seems sweet, but she is very opinionated and isn't afraid to insert her own political biases. her tests were all multiple choice and were not super difficult if you studied a fair amount.
Don't take. It was my hardest class ever. She rambles and sometimes brings in politics that have nothing to do with class. Her tests are hard but multiple choice. Sometimes does in class work thats graded but if you miss, she wont let you redo it. Wont give practice tests or help, you have to do everything yourself.
do not take! There's a couple in class assignment, 15 points each. (the day of our final) she decided to changed them all to 12 points which really brought my grade down. She decided give students 0 on some assignments so that they would come to class. When I asked, she said she would grade them after finals. Its not a time thing its manipulative.
She was very nice and entertaining in class with jokes and stories. As long as you study and pay attention you will do good. She does little in class discussions that are participation grades, so I would try and show up as much as possible but she does allow you to make them up. She wants you to do well. She made me laugh a lot.
I loved Dr. Blumentritt! Her lectures were actually very engaging & somewhat fun! She's very funny and makes the content enjoyable to learn. There's a textbook for this class but I never opened it and just relied on lectures. Exams were pretty easy and weighted. Overall I hope to take her again because she's been my favorite Psych professor so far!
She was super nice and always would keep lectures entertaining. Although she says the attendance is not mandatory, make sure you go because she will surprise you with "attendance in class assignments" that she doesn't allow you to makeup unless you have an excused absence. Exams are pretty easy as long as you show up and study
Professor B is very scattered and disorganized. She cannot finish a sentence or thought and her lectures are confusing. Her slides have no content on them and sometimes she doesn't even show slides. She likes to be political and is rude to students, trying to twist their words to fit her ideas. Worst class I have taken thus far.
I loved this class! Dr. B was an amazing lecturer and always made me think. She is very passionate about psychology and seems to really care about students.
Very funny and caring and tends to get off topic and talks fast. Does random in class participation questions, so attendance matters. Only downside is that exams can be really hard.
She was very disrespectful to the students in her class and often discussed very inappropriate topics. She admitted to watching the videos that Joe Gow was putting up on Porn Hub and discussed the videos at length with her students on the first day of school.
Dr. B is very unorganized. She looses focus during lectures, skips over important information, takes a long time to grade things, and is rude when you ask for help. She often forgets to do things and will not reply to emails. This class is very difficult if you have never taken a psychology class before.
The class was unorganized, and we barely got through any content. Exams had random questions on them from the textbook that she never brought up. She can be unapproachable and judgy. She would throw on random documentaries because she did not have lecture material ready. I was super disappointed.
1.5 hour lectures got very long. Participation is sometimes required but get way too political. Didn't know how many total points would be in the gradebook throughout the semester. Lectured too long on topics not in the curriculum. Is pretty nice, but unorganized. Only had 1 discussion post for points when she promised way more.
She, as a professor and person, is very unorganized. The tests had random questions not seen/heard in the textbook or lectures. I genuinely cannot stand how she structures her lectures. Its all over the place and will go on tangents on one thing so minuscule I feel like I'm wasting my time just coming to class. Just dont take her.
Professor Blumentritt's class was entertaining, though slightly disorganized. Her lectures kept me engaged, and she genuinely wanted students to succeed. I found unstuck AI and the textbook helpful for study prep.
Very funny and engaging. Grade is only based on tests and one or two assignments, so STUDY! The practice quizzes she gives have more material from the textbook than what we learn in lecture, but tests are mainly based on material from lecture. Very weird. Still a very fun, understanding professor and gives good advice on studying.
Tracie is funny and energetic, but is a very hard grader. Exams are multiple choice but do not align with what she has taught in her lectures. Has a textbook but I never read it and still did fine. No outside homework at all but few small in-class activites for points. Grade is solely based of exams with cumulative final. Sometimes frustrating.
Professor Blumentritt is great! She is very funny, so her lectures are entertaining. She also truly cares about her students. My only complaint is that she can be a little unorganized with her notes. However, I was still able to do good on the exams. She offers opportunities for extra credit and does a lot of in class activities for points!
Professor B. has been my favorite professor at UWL so far. She keeps her lectures interesting with her humor. She makes practice exams that are very helpful for tests. I received A's on all exams without the textbook. She offers a lot of extra credit! For those saying she's political…. she sees both sides ideas. I cannot recommend her enough!
Although this is Dr. Blumentritt's last year at UWL, I really thought she was a great professor. She told personal stories that related to lecture content, was caring and understanding, and connected with students well. Practice exams were very helpful, and she prepared us really well for exams.
Out of all the psych professors, I think she is the worst one. Hard to stay engaged in her lectures, and the style of notes she submits is SO confusing, and different from all the other professors. Her exam was one of the harder ones, but I think it's just because she doesn't know how to properly explain the material. Not bad, but not easy.
