just take notes and read the supplemental readings and you're guaranteed an A

She loves her subjects and she is not afraid of letting it show. Majors and non-majors really get into the subject matter. And she doesn't expect you to memorize numbers, dates, or read massive books. All she wants from you is a grasp of the concepts and h

Great history teacher
Brady rocks. She is especially knowledgable in gender, race, and labor history. This is a completely different perspective than is generally taught in history.
Prof. Brady makes history interesting-- great teacher!!
The course was easy, because she gives you a study sheet with everything that will be on the test. She is also a great teacher.
Great teacher!
As long as you go to class and take notes you will be fine! She doesn't use power-points, so you take notes just from her lecture which isn't bad at all.
Great teacher! Super sweet and very knowledgable
she was wonderful! Very sweet! She made history seem like an awesome story, which it should be like all the time!
Easiest Prof at CSU for any history class! If you don't get an A in this class then you might want to reconsider college!
She has a voice like she's talking to a kindergarten class, but she's such a good professor. If she doesn't know something right away, she'll write it down and look it up for the next class.
Overall brady is a good teacher..had her for 2 classes my senior year. No complaints!
I hate history but she made class worth it. You don't use the textbook much if at all she just uses class for the tests. As long as u go you'll get an A
Dr. Brady is a great teacher and makes the material very easy to comprehend. If you're decent at writing a few essays, fairly good at retaining important historical information from a lecture, you will ace this class easily. If you have a frame of reference, you won't even break a sweat.
As long as you pay attention and do the discussion, its an easy class as far as history classes go.
Dr. Brady is amazing. She's very clear in her expectations which essentially means come to class and you'll pass. Tests are over info covered in lectures (minimal use of power point), and whatever of the 3 books the class is on (all VERY good reads). All books have a discussion and quiz prior to test. Great Class. I recommend it to WWI/II fans.
Awesome and super nice!!!
Really nice and easy. Just show up take notes, do the study guide and 2 small papers and it's an easy A. Very straight forward and easy to learn
Tracy is such a sweet and caring lady. She makes history interesting and teaches it like a story rather than just facts. She gives extra credit a lot on snowy days.
Nice, but not impressed.
Good teacher
I could never say enough great things about Dr. Brady. Her classes are not always easy, but she will help you succeed if you are struggling at all. I wish we had more professors like her!
She is ok. Found her rather boring and not as helpful as others commented. Easy class though.
Dr. Brady is one of the best professor at CSU. She's very flexible and understanding with circumstances and her lectures are very engaging. Tests and quizzes can be challenging but doable if you know the material.
I loved Tracy Brady wish I were a history major so that I could take another one of her classes. Lectures are interesting because she tells history like a story. She tells you at least on of the essays in the tests and let's you write it in advanced and get feedback from her before the test. You just have to write the same essay (no notes).
She was such a good professor. Very easy to follow and listen to.
I absolutely adore Brady! Her lectures are easy to follow but you HAVE TO GO TO CLASS to pass (although attendance isn't required) and you have to be able to take notes as she speaks because she doesn't really write on the board. Makes history interesting and I am taking more of her classes just because I love her teaching style
Go to class and study for tests.
Dr. Brady is great. This class wasn't that hard either. Would definitely not take the class if you don't go.
I have taken 4 classes with Dr. Brady, and she is the best professor I have had at CSU. As long as you come to class, do the reading, and take good notes you will have no problem. She keeps lectures interesting and is extremely helpful with any question you have. I have loved every class with her and highly recommend her!
Dr. Brady was amazing. Her class isn't the most easy class ever but she was caring and if you work hard, you'll get that A. I liked her so much I'm taking her again.
Dr. Brady is awesome. She is intelligent and passionate about her work and very kind and understanding with her students. This class was by far my favorite this semester. Please take a class with her if you have a chance.
I enjoyed the lectures cause they kept my attention. You are able to get most of the information for the exams from your notes from the lectures but sometimes you need to look into the textbook to get a bit more information.
Tracy is a great professor! She is very enthusiastic about the topics she lectures about. The tests are a lot of work, but if you study for them and go to class, you will be just fine.
Tracy is my favorite professor at CSU! She truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed! I wish I could take even more classes with her because I learn so much. She is a lecture style teacher (which I love) and speaks clearly and slowlybut I would't necessarily recommend her if you are someone who needs powerpoint slides to copy down.
Brady was passionate about her lectures and made the classes very interesting and easy.
Dr. Tracy Brady is a very enthusiastic teacher and really loves history. Her lectures are done through a powerpoint, but each slide only has a picture on it so you have to pay close attention to get good notes. Although attendance isn't mandatory, I would highly recommend not skipping class.
LOVED her, she is brilliant and knows every little detail about history. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you show up and take notes the class is honestly a breeze. She gives good study guides and is all around an awesome lady.
Dr. Brady really cares about her students. Attend class and be aware of what she is saying and you should pass the class. She hands out a decent amount of extra credit and has great office hours. Be sure to talk to her if you have questions.
Brady takes the time to answer questions, and cares if students are understanding and succeeding in the course. Gives extra credit opportunities, is passionate about her field, and isn't offended if someone corrects her. Overall a great teacher who cares about her students' success.
Dr. Brady was great! She is extremely thorough in her lectures and clearly knows a ton about American history. Going to class is really important; she doesn't post her lectures online (they're all pictures anyway so it wouldn't be that helpful anyway) and she'll occasionally throw in some extra credit opportunities while you're there!
Does not have lecture notes only way to take notes is to listen to everything she says, the class she taught was history from 1876 to now but on the last day of class we were only up to the 60s & she didnt cover all the material on the final exam. Yes shes nice but she could have taught the class much better.
I thought she was a great professor and knew a lot of details about all of the time periods. I think using three books for an intro history class is unnecessary because I rarely even touched them. She was kind of a tough grader on the papers but if you go in and ask her about it shell usually raise the grade.
Dr. Brady is one of my favorite history professors. She is very knowledgeable about the material. Her class is lecture-based, and she rarely includes more than pictures in her powerpoints. The class is straightforward as long as you show up to class and take decent notes.
Dr. Brady is a very nice professor, but I really do not care for her teaching style. Sure, anyone can get an A, but easy A or not you won't learn much from the course. She rarely pauses in her lectures, giving you no time to comprehend what was just said. No lecture slides either. If you actually take your education seriously, avoid this professor.
Going to this class was like listening to an hour long story about history everyday, which was really nice. Her lectures don't include slides though, so it's up to you to decide what is important to write down. Got out of class early at least once a week. Good choice for an AUCC credit.
Dr. Brady is great, she is a great speaker and the classes are interesting. Tests are super straight forward and she tells you EXACTLY what is going to be on the test. Probably don't have to go to every lecture either.
She teaches like she's telling a story! Super instesting and everything really sticks in my head because of her teaching style. She has passion for the material and it shows.
Dr. Brady is a really nice person but she only talks during her lectures while you have to take notes based off what she says. This class you have to go everyday and be prepared to watch your grade suffer.
Dr. Brady was fun and had great lectures. Some topics can be dry but she makes them fun. She has 2 papers but only makes you do one. She provides study guides for exams, which will include lecture and textbook material. Even though attendance is not mandatory, she does not post lectures or notes from each day, so showing up every day is a good idea
Dr. Brady is one of the best professors I had in my freshman year. Although I didn't like her class at first (because you just listen to her - no slideshow), I started to like the dynamic of the class later on. The only thing that I wish the class had more it's grading (2 exams, 1 final, 1 essay) because those are the only things to get graded on.
Attendance is not mandatory, but if you dont show up you need someone to send you notes. Lectures tend to get boring because all you do is listen to her talk. The class also has only 3 test and one paper that is graded. If you aren't good at taking tests - dont take this class.
If you aren't able to pay attention to just lectures w/ no slides, I wouldn't recommend this class for you. I hate history, but she made this class very interesting. Attendance isn't mandatory, but she covers a lot in her lectures that you shouldn't miss. This class requires a lot of reading, but if you pay attention and read, the tests are easy.
Brady is so sweet and loves what she does. Her lectures are kinda boring but she is so helpful and tells you mostly what is on the exams. Stupid and pointless cogbooks assignments have to be completed every week and take too much time. Tests are decent but definitely need to be studied for. Overall not a bad AUCC but could def be easier.
She's a really good professor and knows her stuff. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you miss, the slides aren't posted and extra credit may be given for those who attend. The slides don't have notes so you have to pay attention. It can be hard but overall she's a fair grader and I figured out how to do well.
Shes a sweet lady! I had to take notes nonstop every class because they are solely based on her talking. The slides she uses are only pictures. One paper which is graded fairly. However do spend a lot of time prepping for tests because the study guides are LONG and there is always a short essay at the end.
One of the best teachers so far! There is quite a bit of work and memorization for testing.
Professor Brady has truly changed my life at CSU. After taking two of her courses I declared a HIST minor. Attendance is necessary, however with how insightful and exciting she teaches, you'll want to go to class. The effort you put in is the grade you'll receive, but she gives good feedback and is very helpful in office hours.
There really isnt many lectures, especially during covid theres maybe 5-6 lectures for the entire unit. All very clear and helpful. Her tests are very reasonable and so is her other assignment. She really does understand that things happen and is helpful with it. Shes awesome, I would take her class again.
There is not a lot of interaction between you and her unless you contact outside of Canvas. Also the video presentations that are on YT do not work properly half the time. The class is also very intensive on reading, including an online book and a separate regular book. Exams also seem to be out in left field. She's not a bad professor overall.
She is a great professor and you can tell she wants you to succeed, even if the online format makes things super difficult. I don't blame her at all for how hard this class is to take online.
Dr. Brady made history fun and engaging. I got to feel like I was learning without being overwhelmed with assignments, which is always a plus. You have to pay attention in lectures and show up to class, but it really is not hard. If you have to take history, I would recommend Dr. Brady
She was super helpful when I ran into issues during this class. The material was to be expected. Her tests were more involved than I expected but overall not too hard for a 100lv class.
Dr Brady has been amazing this semester! Her lectures are interesting to go to and make history fun, homework is very minimal, and the tests are not difficult if you prepare for them. I would happily take another class taught by Dr Brady!
She is very nice but grading takes forever, am currently going into a final missing 7 graded assignments, when someone in class asked she replied with "well you have a calculator figure it out" doesn't post due dates, feedback comes too late to even be useful. would not take a class with her ever again.
Tracy Brady is the backbone of CSU's History department. She is very passionate about ensuring her students learn the course material and does not throw in confusing projects/exam questions. She is one of the only professors that you will actually want to take classes from again. Very understanding and willing to work with you!
I think Dr. B is probably the nicest professor at CSU, seriously. She is quick to respond to emails if you need feedback and her class is super interesting. 10/10 would take any of her classes again. ( I took 2 in a row senior year) If you reading this Dr. Brady thank you for being awesome!
Here work was fair, clear, and easily understandable. Feedback was timely and useful. I loved her class and hope to have her again asap!!
Tracy Brady is such a good professor! She does spend each class giving lectures, but they're interesting. I personally prefer it because there aren't any in person class discussions, group projects, etc. She also won't cold call on students. It is mostly just notes and a few essay/multiple choice tests throughout the semester. She's also so nice!!
Dr. Brady is the ideal professor. She is extremely understanding and lenient, she even extended the group project multiple times because some students felt overwhelmed with other courses. There are few assignments, but attendance is mandatory and graded which makes up for it. Any assignments given are easy and the group project is genuinely fun.
Brady was super helpful and nice, and really seems to care about her student's success. She teaches with a genuine passion and grades fair. 10/10, if you have the chance to take a class with her, do it!
I loved taking hist 151. This class is very lecture heavy and she doesn't post the lectures on canvas so you need to go to class to get the notes.
Took a history capstone seminar with Dr. B. She's fun and caring, especially in a small class, but somewhat disorganized. She doesn't use much technology. Grades were slow coming, but she's a pretty easy grader. Overall was a good class.
As someone who does not like studying history, professor Brady made it bearable. She was very nice and understanding, and she was very passionate about what she was teaching, which made it engaging, even for me. The tests were easy as long as you took notes in class.
Brady is very enthusiastic and friendly, and she knows what she is talking about. She does a good job of not showing bias, which is important. The workload was pretty light. There are some essay projects but they aren't too bad if you don't procrastinate. The multiple choice exams were the biggest hit on my grade, be sure to study hard for those
Dr. Brady is very nice, and she clearly is very knowledgeable about her subject. Her multiple-choice tests are really hard, so you have to study a lot for them. Her slideshows don't have any words on them, so you have to go to class in order to get the information. Only one project and it's not very hard.
I could go on and on about Professor Brady. I'm a comm studies major so I need to take three history classes and I'm so glad that I chose her class because I really loved it. She's a wonderful professor and I'm really glad I took her class so If you need a good history class for your major, take History 151 with Brady!!
She is real. Me and my friend love her. Very good lectures.
I will say the exams in this class will be the majority of your grade. But I am obsessed with Dr. B! She is so sweet and will be more than happy to provide accommodations when needed. She is understanding and so nice to talk to! This is a class with a professor that truly has a passion for the subject and will leave you looking forward to lectures!
She is very kind and passionate about her job, but having her lecture every class, and the whole class makes it so difficult to pay attention especially towards the end. Every test was multiple choice but had an essay and primary analysis due, which was very difficult and time consuming during finals.
Attending class is necessary since lectures is the only place you can get information from. The Lectures are heavy and kind of getting boring. But apart from that there isn't much workload just one big project to worry about which is fairly easy. Be prepared to write essays and do analysis on top of multiple choice exams in one day.
Dr. Brady is an amazing lecturer, while there isn't points taken off if you don't go, all the exams you are only allowed to use content from your notes and no outside sources. It is nice if you go and take really good notes! Dr. Brady is kind and knowledgeable and every lecture was engaging. HIGHLY encourage taking her courses!
Very lecture heavy, but I would say its pretty self explanatory things. Her tests are multiple choice, but also have an essay that you don't get the prompt until you start it and you have a 2 hour time limit. There is also a primary source analysis that you have to do that you get 45 min to do. There is also a book you have to read.
Tracy is great, US History and Television is a very interesting class. Attendance is mandatory, that's what killed my grade. She is a very generous grader in terms of content, but grammar and formatting will destroy a paper grade. Only two papers were assigned for this class, both of which were not too difficult.
Great Professor that I definitely recommend! She talks during her lectures but will repeat things for you. Overall fairly easy class and the tests were multiple choice. We read one book and had an essay for each exam as it was the second part.
Dr. Brady is one of my absolute favorite professors I have ever had. She is so passionate about both the material and her students. Student engagement matters, but it is such a fun class it's easy to. This is my second class with her and have succeeded in both because of her support.
This was my second time taking Brady and she's one of the most wonderful professors at CSU. I wish I could've taken her for my first history class, because that was a nightmare, but she is the best
Interesting class and great professor. Got absolutely slammed towards the end of the semester but I think it was due to our class being behind schedule. Almost solely graded on three tests (long take home essays) and one paper, but she's a very fair grader.
Dr. Brady is fantastic- she is genuine, kind, and intelligent. She truly wants her students to succeed, and is very understanding. She always tries to make lectures interesting, relevant, and introspective, and gives good feedback on exams/papers. Fair amount of writing, but always doable if you come to lecture; Read 3 books, but all interesting!
Dr Brady is awesome. She is kind and a good lecturer. Attendance is mandatory unless you can get the notes from someone in the class. Exams aren't too hard as long as you follow the study guide. There is one project, but it's not bad if you don't procrastinate it. The final isn't cumulative which was helpful. Overall, I liked this class.
Where do I begin with how amazing Dr. Tracy Brady is? She is a blessing to this earth and is the kindest professor I've had in all my 4 years! Her classes are interesting and interactive while maintaining a level of difficulty that is easy to maintain. I recommend taking at least 1 class with her in your time at CSU, she is truly the best!
Very understanding and caring professor. Attendance isn't really taken, but you MUST go to class and take notes or you will fail her class. You can get by with summaries of the books but recommend you get them or you'll always feel a little behind. Class is easy to pass if you show up.
I took her 4 week summer online course, the entire grade is based off of 4 primary source analysis and 3 exams. requires u to read a textbook and a reg book and watch her lectures, she is kind and willing to help if you reach out, all her questions on her tests correspond to the lectures so take good notes on those gta doesn't provide good comments
She is very kind and caring. Her pre‑1900 lectures are excellent, covering many overlooked subjects. Post-1900, it felt overly race-focused. WWI and WWII, for instance, were framed almost entirely through minority groups, at the cost of historical context. She's an excellent professor. More focus on the bigger picture would make her a 5 star easily
Dr. Brady is AMAZING! Such an amazing storyteller, which really pulls you into the lecture. The class is graded by 3 exams, one paper, and 3 book discussions/quizzes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but to pass the exams, you have to come and take detailed notes. You WILL fail the class if you don't. Regardless, she is amazing and I highly recommend!
her lectures are super straightforward and summarize the textbook really well, but she doesn't post slides so going to class is important! there's 3 tests with 3 different parts the whole semester, and they're easy if you study beforehand, but that's pretty much all that goes into the gradebook :/
10/10, loved her class sm! Genuinely one of the best hist courses i'ver ever taken. go to class bc she doesn't post slides and her lectures are only pictures with her talking. She is passionate, energetic, and so nice. She was one of my fav profs this semester, highly recommend for an easy A!
Literally just show up, take notes, and pay attention. Easiest history course and exams are easy if you study. Tracy is super nice and explains everything very well.
She's amazing and so kind! If you come to class and pay attention, this class is SO easy! Her tests are just papers based in books and info from in class, but she doesn't post her lectures so you have to pay attention!
There are no slides for the classes, so if you miss one, you're basically done. Exams are hard. Lectures are very general, but exams go super specific. No retakes if you get a bad grade. I'd say take it online.
Very frustrating to work with. She didn't consider different learning styles and expected everyone to retain information the same way. Emails were very slow, making it hard to get help. Lectures were not helpful or clarifying, and I ended up teaching myself most of the material.
