She is a very helpful teacher and explains the material very well. Also, she is funny and she is a down to earth person.

she is very funny and entertaining...she seems to be a feminist... she expects a lot out of u but it is worth it...i loved her class...and she is very young and down to earth...not dry at all like most of these professors

Tracy is awesome! She knows her****. When you are in her class, you don't feel like you are with a professor. All the topics we talk about are interesting. You're never bored. Not an easy professor though. You have to work hard, but she's awesome.
Tracy is cool, i like her. she knows her stuff, of make it really look like she does, and i think she really should go into stand up. she could make it big. Very great professor, i wish all prof cared and was as helpful as her. lets get a beer sometime! :-D <3-the boy with all the mario cloths.

She is a great professor and is very easy to talk to.She makes the class discussion intresting and her quizes are easy. You can definitly pass this class if you do you work and participate in class. If you have any questions about your paper she will help you.
I was really impressed with this class. I do not enjoy writing, but Tracy really helped me build my confidence. She made class fun, interesting and challenging. I'm really going to miss going to this class. I definetly recommend this class if you want to be challenged, but with a ton of support so that you can do well. :-)

Tracy is a really helpful teacher with a great sense of humor. Dont try to get lazy and walk over her "niceness" because on top being really cool she does not accept laziness and inresponsibility.
Tracy is the best teacher! She's so helpful and understanding, on top of having a really good sense of humor! She gets annoyed when students don't show up to class on time and don't try. So just show her that you care and that you're trying and you should be OK!
Prof. Budd really knows her stuff. she is very helpfully and has a great sense of humor. i actually enjoy going to this class, she makes it fun. interesting class discussions. def take class with her.
pro. tracy budd is nice. just show her that you can do well. go to her office hours and do your best. she is harsh sometimes, but she will give you an A if you show improvement ... but i would'nt recommend you to take her course.
Tracy was one of the best Comp teachers I had at Rutgers. She's always willing to help without holding your hand the entire way. She's also mad chill.
Great professor, grades on "improvement" which essentially means the highest grade among your last 2 or 3 essays, provided you didn't fail the others. She's really enthusiastic, despite having to read 50 boring essays a week.
Tracy is by far one of the BEST english professors at RU. She is far from boring, she has a witty personality. As long as you show up to her class, show that you have at least tried and go to either her office hours or stay a little after class, you are bound to pass the class. I miss her lol (DEXHEIMER is another great professor).
Best Prof for a mandatory class by far. She is very helpful and as long as you do the work she will pass you. Go to tutoring or office hours it will help. Does not make the class boring and chooses as long as you make an improvement and an A on the last paper you will get an A overall. Amazing.
Professor Budd is such a great professor. She was always willing to help her students and had activities that help aid in our essay writing. I would highly suggest taking her because she's super fun and she knows how to teach well. Plus, she really cares about her students so go to office ours if needed.
It's not that she's hard, you just gotta work hard or the grade you get is grade you deserve.

She is not helpful. She would not tell you exactly how you can improve your essays, which lets you feel that you don't learn anything from the course. To those who want to try really hard to get a very good grade: avoid her.
Super chill/laid-back teacher. She's easily the best English teacher I've had at Rutgers so far. Very approachable, clear with what she wants in your research papers, and overall a really helpful teacher. Also, she's hilarious. I have never laughed so much WITH a teacher. I don't even like English, but this was a good class! Take her for english201

She's very entertaining n has really good points and intellectual stuff for you. But man. she is a harsh grader. This is not the class if you want an easy A. Tracy Budd is a really chill professor. I do not know why people are giving her bad reviews. Her classwork can boost your grade and her quizzes are very easy (as long as you read). Also, if you do not pass the first essay then don't fret because there is room for improvement in her class since she assigns unique peer review activities.
One of the famous things she said was: you should figure out everything by yourself. Extremely rude and arrogant.

She's kinda funny in the lecture (especially with her cute daughter), but NEVER take her class if you can't handle EAD II easily.

For 201 come up with an interesting topic, you'll be working on it for the entire semester basically. If she likes your topic she will help you write your paper and she guides you along the way. Just make sure you get things done by the due date. You only write a 5 page paper and a 10 page paper the entire semester, it's really not that bad at all.
My favorite professor of the semester! There's a lot of work involved, but if you stay on top of deadlines and hand in all your work on time, you'll do fine. I was nervous about writing a good 10 page paper, but the way she scheduled deadlines for each draft made it a lot easier! Plus she's funny, and gets good discussions going. Got a B+

Helped me with my writing a lot and I feel ready for Expos. Funniest teacher ever. Go to office hours and you will do fine ! Peer review days are very helpful and give me ideas to write with.
I had Tracy for Basic Comp and she was the best teacher I had this semester. Yes she is a tough grader, but that is how you become a better writer! She is very helpful in class and her office hours. One of the best English teachers I've ever had. Really takes the time to make sure students come up with ideas on their own, and that helps when writing your papers. She's also very cool and funny and gave us donuts one time! Put in work and you'll receive the grade that you deserve. Highly Recommend!
Im confused. All the comments say she is helpful. But the truth is she actually kicked students out of her office during office hours! She was supposed to read our rough draft of paper 4 but she said she doesnt want to.

Tracy was... confusing. Sometimes she was nice and visibly cared about her students, other times she would disregard them or get abrasive. She is definitely accessible - she does respond to emails kinda promptly, but it's sometimes clear she doesn't really fully read students' questions. Nice, but... confusing. Helpful, but not incredibly so.
the problem I had with Tracey is her pushing politics, HER politics if you disagree with, forget it. It's hard to write an independent paper when every position even backed with evidence makes her angry if she disagrees. That's not what college is for I'm sorry.

She does not present a safe and healthy environment in the classroom. She says a lot of inappropriate things in class and inflicts her political opinions onto us. At times if our opinions do not line up with hers she will belittle us and demoralize us.
At first I was skeptical due to the bad reviews, but at the end of the day, Prof Budd is a good professor. Granted, there are a lot of readings, but she is very helpful in making sure you'll do well on the papers. She has files of exercises and helpful reading criteria that will actually aid in giving you a good grade.
I took Tracy for both basic comp and expos and when I tell you this woman is amazing. The class is very easy when you get used to the structure in which you will be writing papers. The only annoying thing is how long the readings are. She is funny and you will learn so many life lessons in her class. Thanks, T budda

Seeing all the reviews make me switch professors on the last day of add/drop. She wasn't too bad, but she told a new student that joined during add/drop they had to catch up, which likely meant no extension on assignments. When I tried to ask a question, she made we wait until the whole class was there. If you can, take another professor.
DO NOT TAKE HER. She thinks being rude is somehow quirky, and makes her funny. it doesn't. Will yell at students for being in class if they have a cough, but if you don't attend she will put in a zero for the day. Honestly, a horrible experience, if I could switch I would in a heartbeat. If you get her, switch classes IMMEDIATELY!!
A great professor with many helpful examples and ideas to use for your final proposal. Professor Budd makes her expectations for each assignment clear throughout the semester and usually has time after class for questions.
She is very easy to talk to if you need help, and she's very understanding if you need extra time on something. Only 4 papers for the semester, no real homework given. No textbook but you need to print the readings. She doesn't look over rough drafts, she has your peers review your work and respond. Not a super tough grader. I highly recommend her!
She is generally unhelpful, gives you an F for an assignment you actually completed relatively well. She does not even bother to review your rough drafts and instead gives you a bad grade when you submit your paper and each paper is worth like %20 of your grade. Not a good professor, AVOID HER.
