No matter how hard you work or how often you ask for help throughout this course Dr. Ediger does not care. Over half the class could fail and she will brush it off. She does not review exams even if class average is low and instead of teaching the material that is on her exams, she tells you to read chapter summaries
During the beginning it was pretty easy sand I felt my classmates had mutual feelings. On lab exams she wants every answer to be specific. Towards the middle of semester the exams became harder and worded poorly. She never told us any helpful tools to study with other than read the textbook. This class is hard work and will have you stressed.
Literally the hardest class I've ever taken. The lab exams are ridiculous as are the lecture exams. She gives a few extra credit opportunities but not enough for as hard as this class is. She doesn't make things interesting. This class was the reason I changed my major. If you are looking for an easy class/ professor, THIS IS NOT IT.
She makes A&P lab for both 1&2 into a histology course. Always focus on histology for the lab exams. They trick you by emphasizing bones, muscles, and blood vessels but its always focused on histology.
Worst professor I have ever had by FAR. Her lab is as close to impossible as you can get and has left me feeling like I may not be able to pass even though I have an A in the lecture with another professor (she is great, it is Artinian). I have friends who are in med school who haven't ever experienced exams like hers. DO NOT TAKE EDIGER FOR LAB.
I have her for lab and she is a terrible teacher. Instead of ensuring that her students learn something, she focuses instead on such an impossible grading criteria that it feels as though the students are being set up to fail. PLEASE do yourself a favor and take any other teacher for lab.
Took this class in Fall 2018. She does not care about your grade. I missed an online assignment due to being sick and received an C- because of it.
I had Ediger for both my A&P 1 & 2 labs. Her test questions are either very specific or too vague and confuse not only her students but her TAs as well. She often refuses to meet with her students when they reach out for help/clarification and ignores constructive feedback from students and TAs alike. Apathetic towards the success of her students.
Shes a TERRIBLE professor and unfortunately she teaches the majority of the classes for A&P. Her tests are nothing like what you study and she reneges on the weight of extra credit. Lecture is VERY BORING so you barely bother to show up. She doesnt care about her students and doesnt make the already challenging course any easier.
Best professor hands down. She responds to emails quickly when I had questions and helped! Im not the smartest yet I left with an A. You have to study. She tells you everything you need to know, its a matter of if you take it or not. Her class is not hard, if you cant pass her class then its the students fault not her. Shes super easy to pass
Exam and lab exam questions are extremely out of the blue, lectures are not engaging and very boring, difficult to receive clarity on the subject and questions are presented with just using the textbook for reference, though the prof is being paid for who knows what. Lastly, there is tons of unnecessary homework assigned, like tons!
Got a B w/ her for A&P1 and looks like I'm getting a B+/A- for A&P2. She makes you work for your grade. Her lecture practice questions definitely prepare you for the exam. She's also 1 of the sweetest people you'd ever meet when you talk to her 1on1. I'd say take her if you want A&P to be drilled in your brain for life. You learn so much.
Took her for anatomy 1 and left with an A-, decided I wanted to continue with her for anatomy 2.. no. This semester required more work which was good/ bad. Exams arent too bad, her wording can trick you. The final was terrible and nothing like how weve been tested or asked of all semester. You will leave knowing AP, but not the way she wants
I dont know why Dr. Ediger has such low ratings. I took her for Anatomy 2 and she is an amazing professor. Her lectures are interesting and helpful and her tests are straight forward if you study. She cares about her students and offers extra credit! The lab portion is harder but she offers resources to help you succeed. I highly recommend.
Since GSU took away class surveys Ill just do it in here. Ediger was literal CRAP for A&P 2. Shes a sweet lady but an awful teacher. Gave assignments throughout the semester on new topics before covering it and graded it which most did bad on. TAs didnt do their jobs explaining work. The final was literal trash. Please find another teacher.
I took her for Human Anatomy and Physiology I lab, and let me tell you, if you need to take A&P 1 or 2, make her your last resort. Shes a terrible teacher. Does not accommodate to students needs whatsoever. Her exams are hard and sometimes includes things that we havent learned. Shes just horrible
Dr. Ediger is the worse professor I've ever had at Georgia State University. Though she can be nice, her lectures are very unclear, and she teaches the class as if you already taken the class before. Her exams both lab and lecture are impossible, and she does poorly at accommodating her students. She is the reason I received my first C ever in life
Do not take her class. Her class is almost impossible to succeed in. Tests are extremely hard over material she barely goes over in class. She has no desire to help or encourage her students to pass the class and blatantly does not care. I have never gotten below a C in any of my classes my entire academic career, yet in her class I got a C BEWARE!
By far the worst and hardest teacher I've ever dealt with. Keep in mind that this is an online class due to the pandemic, so I was assuming that it would be a bit easier. I was wrong. She gives out so much work and grades so harshly that I wasn't able to learn the actual material. I was more focused on turning in my work. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!
The people saying this is a good professor are probably her burner accounts. Worst teacher. She should not be allowed to have this title.
The course material seems like it was thrown together due to the pandemic. Lab is even harder and its just so much work. Im definitely not a lazy student but its ridiculous that the workload is this much. At this point, it feels like I'm barely learning and rushing just to turn things in. I would not take her again
This class is impossible to pass with taking other classes. There is so much work required it is ridiculous. You don't have time to study because you are more focus on turning in work. She doesn't explain anything, and lab is impossible. Only gives a 20 min video every week for lab and lecture. Listen to reviews and AVOID THIS PROFESSOR.
This class requires so much homework that you dont have time to study. You will be more focused on submitting work than actually studying. She grades harshly but only give 20 minute videos for lecture for each chapter. The test are completely different from what you study. SHE SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING CLASS! ADVOID THIS PROFESSOR!
She not a good teacher... at all... can I say that? Not a chance I'd spend any money at GSU if I knew what I was getting myself into with this class. It's not worth it, take it somewhere else, save time and money and still learn the same material.
I am going to preface this by saying that I'm an Honor's College student. Now look at the grade I'm getting. This teacher sets you up to fail. There is an EXTREME lack of instruction. She also assigns so much work that you can only focus on getting it all done more than retention of knowledge. DO NOT TAKE! I am transferring to take this class again
Okay, Professor Ediger is a nice person she really is however, if you can avoid taking her class I would try. She gives WAYYYY too much homework, like too much, there is no actual time to study and learn the material because you are focused on deadlines all the time. Overall, if you have to take her... get ready!!!
Worst class of my entire college career. I highly recommend taking another professor unless you want to spend 24/7 trying to meet every standard she has to offer. I should have dropped this class and took another professor. If you have the option, take someone else!
This course was fine. I read the chapters in the book before each exam and got A's. The lectures were OK, but I didn't attend all of them which hurt my test grades a little. There are a lot of lab assignments and lab grades, but overall I thought the grading was fair. Tests were relatively basic (not super hard) and the final was a joke.
If you have to take this class please for your mental health find another professor, not only does she give you multiple assignments due within the same week with little time to review your submission, she also DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HER STUDENTS, you can ask her all the questions you want you'll never receive an answer to anything. PLEASE RUN!!!
If there is another professor available, please take them over her! She wasn't clear at all what would be on tests and you would have to read through many chapters of the textbook to get enough of that knowledge. Also the lab sucks even more, the TA'S are so mean and harsh graders i often have to make them regrade my stuff. This was my first ever B
Took her for A&P1 over the summer and got my first ever C. The only reason I took her for A&P2 this fall is because she was the only teacher available. DO NOT TAKE THIS LADY. She thinks that her class is your only class, and provides enough homework to make it so EVERYDAY is a due date. You barely get ANY time to study or retain material. FIRE HER!
Only take her class if you hate yourself. She assigns a RIDICULOUS amount of homework. If you plan to take her class while holding a job and taking other classes be prepared to have a mental breakdown every other day. Her class genuinely ruined my mental health. Her expectations are UNREASONABLE and she assigns weekly group work during a PANDEMIC
i am APPALLED by the amount of work that was assigned during a PANDEMIC. she is not understanding at all and expects you to teach yourself. her tests and quizzes are very vague, and lab is mandatory yet a complete waste of time. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! this is the first C i've ever gotten, and received an A in all of my other classes. not worth it!
Im someone who took her Anatomy and Physiology I class last Fall. This MD/PHD needs to simplify this course for UNDERGRAD students. As a post Bach student, she makes this course feel like a 6 credit graduate level course. Her lab quizzes are poorly adapted online with low quality pictures, lots of hw and studying, and the tests will make you cry.
I admit I was scared for her course because of what many of her past students had to say. In my opinion, they were wrong. There can be a lot of reading at times, but you should expect this from a pre-nursing requisite. Her tests are multiple choice and straight forward, the learning outcomes makes the best study guides. She also records her lecture
The semester has not ended yet, but I still feel the need to post this. Her course is pretty clear and linear, which is good, but I would not retake. Has 40 question short answer assessments every week, where you have to spell everything 100% correct. She has a 20 point penalty if your camera isnt set up in a very specific formation. Just no.
I have never worked so hard in a class in my life. If you're taking Dr. Ediger's class, please be prepared to have mental breakdowns every week. SO many assignments that you have no time to really retain the information. I turned everything in on time, studied 25 hours a week JUST in this class and still only made a B+. BEWARE.
This class will stress you out! It was the most stressful class out of all my classes this semester because she gives so much work each week that you have to focus on completing. Be aware, during lecture she talks fast so you need to keep up. Her test are difficult and she words her questions weird. You definitely have to study everyday to pass!
Horrible prof, and I say this as a student averaging As in the class. Ridiculous strict grading policies, refuses to reopen assessments with valid medical excuses, inconsistent responses to emails, doesn't accept internationally recognized naming conventions (she wants you to use her preferred names). Assessments were really hard. Avoid if possible
Dr. ediger was a good teacher. Her tests were a bit difficult but if you study the information given in the study guides you will be fine. She responds to emails quickly / in a timely manner. Gives a little extra credit but not much. The only thing really difficult about this class online was the lab assessments!
Worst class I've taken at GSU. I took this in the Summer so it was online- however the professor AND TA were not helpful at all and refused to accommodate my accommodations. They were not lenient at all and required 2 webcams and gave penalties if you didn't have one. Also tons of assignments due at the same time + theywouldn't record the lectures
This professor was terrible. I attempted to take anatomy during summer but had to drop because the class was destroying my mental health. The professor requires you to show your whole room for weekly quizzes which is a breach of privacy! Avoid this professor if you can. She could end up ruining your GPA. Not worth the stress at all.
DO NOT !! If I could give zero stars I would. This professor is HORRIBLE. She lacked compassion during the pandemic. She assigns work that even graduate students dont get. The assessments are unrealistic and you will ruin your mental health preparing for this class. I DO NOT RECOMMEND
She has a low score because Anatomy is a difficult class, that's it. Look past the significant reading required to learn anatomy and you'll find one of the best taught courses at GSU. Clear requirements. Fair grading. Responsive to questions. Course is better than the Anatomy taught at my dental school. 100% recommend if you wanna actually learn.
Dr. Ediger was a good professor. Anatomy is a really hard class and I appreciate how rigorous she made the course because I am now in an accelerated nursing program and a lot of what Dr. Ediger had really emphasized are things I keep seeing in my program and with patients. Take this class seriously and push yourself to understand the material.
Lets be real Dont take this class unless you literally have nothing else in your life to do. The assessments are not realistic and you have to cram everything in your head for the test that you couldnt retain for the next week. Avoid this class and find a class that you actually would like to learn and pass with a decent grade in.
Do not recommend taking this class unless you want destroy your mental health. You spend so much time preparing for this class that you barely have any time to focus on other classes. You have assessments every week no multiple choice and no word bank. Even the slightest spelling mistake will be counted wrong. Save your GPA and dont take this class
Welcome to med school!!! Her class isnt hard, people just think youre going to get easy grades handed to you. Study and put in the work, youll be fine. Now, if youre just lazy then avoid her class or else you will fail. If you cant survive Edigers class what makes you think youll survive in nursing or pre-med?
Dr. Ediger ratings aren't really fair tbh. She knows what she is talking about and expects the most from the students. There's weekly lab assessments and a final so you have to be studying every week. Some may think this over the top but how else are you going to retain the information? If you want to learn then take her if u want an easyA then no
this is coming from a student who had a 3.9 in high school now goes to GT. AVOID THIS CLASS. many students in my lab class were retaking the course due to failing it previously. she literally bragged about how low her pass rate was and she gives FILL IN THE BLANK quizzes every week with 40 questions over the material we had 6 days to learn...
She is extremely rude. I was asking her something and she walked straight pass me. Don't miss class, I had covid and she only allowed me to make up one assessment and take a zero for another one despite excused absences from the dean's office. If you put the wrong singular/plural its all wrong. 0/10 just don't take she's horrible!!
This class is lots of work, but if you do a little bit every day it really helps. She teaches you what is on tests (no tricking), and teaches you what is most important from a life application standpoint. Very interesting. Answer Study Questions, read textbook, do quizzes on time, study buddies are helpful, she is accessible outside of class.
This teacher is horrible. Doesnt even teach us personally then gives us lab assessments that counts points off for being TOO SPECIFIC!!!!!! Stay away, I withdrew because I dont plan on ruining my 3.9 GPA and hurting my chances of getting into nursing school cause 1 professor takes pride that almost 50% drop her class each semester. STAY AWAY!!!!
Honestly, this professor deserves 0 stars. Graded assignments on topics NOT covered in Lab. No access to lab PowerPoints after lab even if the lesson was no completed in the TWO HOURS allocated. Get prepared to learn nothing and work hard for a C. Hopefully her tenure is almost over.
I would say that the time and effort I put into the class really paid off. I would say before taking this class , be a bit familiar with the concepts. I would also say FIND A RELIABLE GROUP who are all taking the class together. Try to get connected with the TA , SI and the professor. BE INVOLVED . This is not an Easy A class, be INVESTED
The amount of assignments required for this class, all of which are graded with a level of accuracy so nit-picky that even incorrect spelling makes the entire question wrong, will make you waste time that should have been spent studying for this class and others. Don't do it unless the rest of your classes are easy filler classes.
I took this class in Spring 2022, which I am now having to retake with a much better professor. Prepare to have loads and loads of homework and no sense of direction of how to prepare for an exam. None of the materials on mastering matches what she has on the exams. I do not recommend her at all. The reviews speak for themselves.
PART 1: I decided to stupidly take her in the summer since she's the only lab prof offered at gsu and let me just say I might have to get an emergency withdrawal due to my declining mental health caused by the class. while many are here complaining about only getting a week to study over the material given in the summer you only have 2/4 days.
P2: In the beginning, I was doing somewhat well & wasn't failing any of the lab assignments but as the semester is ending we are now having to learn 50+ terms in less than 2-4 days. Had I had a week to learn them I would have done well. She is extremely picky with the spelling & doesn't less you have access to PPT or take pictures of them in class
P3: if you put in the time & effort you can easily pass especially if you aren't taking her in the summer. She a hard prof and unfortunately she is the only lab prof offered for A&P at GSU. Her TA Noelani is great and really kind and makes lectures easy to understand. Only hand write the HW or you'll only get half credit even if its on an iPad.
The class is tough, but well structures. Dr. Ediger is just plain rude and unapproachable. Not a huge fan of some of the class policies. Unfortunately, it doesn't get a lot better at GSU.
tbh she isnt that bad. people need to realize that anatomy is a very HARD class. I passed the class with a b by studying everyday for at least 30 minutes. she does talk a lot tho so class can get a little boring but she responds to your emails fast and will answer any questions you have. I dont recommend taking this class in the summer.
She is a terrible professor who is too strict on her assignments and is out of touch with reality. The worst professor I've had at this university!
This class is hard but it is very well structured and if you get the hang of it, you'll do well in A&P 2. Dr. Ediger explained things really well and her lab videos are very helpful. Just an all around skilled and organized professor. The homework pertains to material you have to learn, so you're essentially getting credit for studying.
I have seen comments stating that Dr.Ediger isn't hard but I would honestly say yes she is . I understand this class may be hard and it is very heavy in material but it is on your professor to help guide you through the course in a manner that helps you .This has destroyed my mental health and I do not reccomend that anyone take this course .
Run. Run as far as you can. This class is one of the main reasons why I changed my major because I couldn't imagine taking the second anatomy class. This had to be the hardest class I have ever taken in my life. There is A LOT of material that you have to memorize. You would have to fully dedicate your life to this class if you want to pass.
By far the HARDEST professor I've taken in my 3 yrs at GSU. Failed the first exam, and she tells the class, if you failed the first exam, you will NOT pass. Thats how this professor is, either you sink or swim. Constantly studying everyday for an exam and still fail it. Currently taking Microbiology with this class and micro is easier than this.
I took this class recently and I had to drop it! She's the dean of the whole lab classes. Teacher Assistant's are the ones teaching this class and they are strictly to teach of how Dr. Ediger teaches. No other exceptions. My mental was drained from this class. She doesn't share lab slides. This class is set up for you to fail.
The course is obviously difficult but the professor makes it unnecessarily more difficult by not providing access to the material. Her lab videos lack much of the information needed to finish the lab assignments and her manual is flawed and needs corrections. If her success is measured based on her students then she has failed as an educator.
Pretty good professor. Gives hefty amount of work, but she has drop(s) in almost every grading category. Only speaks during lecture with photo slides, so be sure to take down some key notes if needed. Gives group work randomly so attendance matters. She was quite helpful w/ exams as she'd give study questions to go off of, but they can be a lot.
This class isnt that bad. The professor isnt the problem, but the class overall is very complicated. You need to set aside a lot of time to study for lecture and lab. For lecture, i suggest going through her study questions for exams. Spelling and correct grammar are very important for lab assessments.
Let's start off... A&P is a difficult course, REGARDLESS of professor/university/etc. I felt like I actually learned something. Dr. Ediger is an AMAZING lecturer. I sat in on both Ediger's and Goursaud's lecture last semester to decide which professor to take for A&P2, I am SO SO HAPPY I did my research. Dr. Ediger is the HEAD of the A&P @ GSU.
Had her for lab and I absolutely hated it the lab is what will bring your grade down that is because she really strict about spelling things right on the lab assessments which i really dk what the point is of spelling them right specially that it is already a tough material so not only do u have to study the material you are expected to k howto spe
the lab grade is only based off weekly assessments, hw, and final assessment. You need to spell everything correctly, know every detail of whatever your learning and be able to recall the information quickly. You will not pass if you aren't studying a couple of hrs every day outside of class. Class is taught by TA, I never seen the actual teacher.
She is an Amazing professor who really likes to challenge your thinking to make sure you fully understand the content, a LOT of reading but doable. A reading assignment is due before every class, test heavy but studying the study questions is your best bet also BE IN CLASS FOR CLASS ASSIGNMENTS. Exams are doable. Take if you really want to learn.
The second time taking her and once again loved her. She is amazing and likes to make sure you fully understand the content, a LOT of reading. Reading assignment is due before every class, test heavy but studying the study questions is your best be also BE IN CLASS FOR CLASS ASSIGNMENTS. Exams are doable. Take her if you really want to learn.
This class is HARD, but that is because of the subject itself not necessarily the professor. Dr. Ediger gives you whats necessary to do good in the class but your grade is truly dependent on how much you studied. I know that if i would've applied myself and studied more i could've done better. You must study for hours, attend lectures !!!
Dr. Ediger is an extremely difficult professor with little care for her students. TAs are the only ones that teach this class and it is set up horribly. My TA apologizes multiple times a class about how unnecessarily hard this class is and how poorly it is set up. Would recommend taking this class with another professor.
Professor Ediger is not the professor for the class however, the TA was awful and did not prepare you for lab At ALL. Do NOT waste your time taking labs with student TAs because they barely know the material. Take a lab with the professor teaching. Lab Assessments were graded toughly and you'll be lucky if you got over a 70 on lab assessments.
worst professor i have ever taken.lab assessment are impossible and insanely specific. No study guides, cant have access to the slides from class, must learn 60+ structures a week. 1 one letter off the whole question is wrong. I cry and have a breakdown every single day from this class. I will study for hours and hours and still fail.
A&PII is a hard subject, so grading is tough. Reading assignments help with understanding the material before lectures. The lab assessments are very specific with spelling, but using the "write" and "learn" tool under Quizlet flashcards will ensure you ace your lab assessments. Attedance was basically mandatory with in-class activities.
A&P 1 and 2 both courses are challenging and you have to know most of the topics because this class is highly important for prehealth students. That is the reason why Dr.Ediger is strict with spelling and overall grading methods. Both the professors for this course are outstanding (Dr.Ediger and Dr. Santymire).
She gives reading assignments that allow you to preview the material before class and they are helpful,I recommend you spend time with the material before class and then listen and takes notes on what she says during lecture. You NEED to spend time actually learning the material overall to earn a good grade, but she teaches very well.
Amazing lecturer, but VERY hard class. My tips to get an A: do the reading assignments well before class with 100% integrity, which helps you understand concepts before lecture. Pay 100% attention in lecture. Answer her study questions throughout the unit and make a sheet to review. I reviewed notes, sq's, and studied for about 5-9 hrs/week.
For the love God, do all the EC possible .Record her voice bc the PPTS are kinda for her, you will need it once you study the PPTs. Lab was so brutal, assessments: if you're off by 1 letter, the whole answer was wrong. Make sure you know how to spell. 3 exams, none dropped- they were good as long as you did/study your weekly quizzes.
Almost lost my soul during this course. Attendance is mandatory because all of the in-class activites. Lab assessments are difficult, so be prepared for them. We got a good TA for lab, but it's hard. As for the as the lecture goes, very hard material so study about 2-3 hours a day to understand because her questions are unpredictable.
Y'all are NOT SLICK!!!!!! Notice how all the good reviews have CAPS????? Exactly whoever is LYING and writing her good reviews needs to do better. YOU NEED TO STOP AND BE FRL.
Don't take this professor, this is your sign! I wish I listened to the warnings before enrolling in this class. This is without a doubt one of the most frustrating academic experiences of my life, and I am seriously contemplating dropping the course because of how unbearable. It breaks my heart because school should never feel this discouraging.
Very HARD class. needs alot of time outside of class. found lab harder than lecture. lab assesment every week, 40 ques, 20 mins. pre lab and post lab every week. pre reading quiz before every class for lectures. In class lecture activities with group. Get ready to give all your time to A&P. way too much to read and rmr. Lecture doesn't help much.

This is by far the worst class I've taken in my entire life. I am currently taking this class for a requirement and it's going terrible. She have a TA, Catherine Quarcoo, who assigns so much work and barely gives time to do it. We get a quiz twice a week, which is when we show up for class and expected to remember everything. Don't waste yourself!
Ediger's lab assessments are too hard. The questions on the lab assessments are sometimes vague, there is no multiple choice, and she grades really hard. Mispell the word by one letter? The whole thing is wrong. The pictures that we get from PAL and the textbook are completely different from the pictures on the lab assessment.
tbh don't take her if u have options for other profs. her exams are ridiculous & hard. we're learning 8/11 organ systems, so lotsss of info & a lot for each exam. her ppts are literally just pictures from the textbook, not very helpful. lab can be hard but easier to study for, just stay on top of it. try to take someone else & save your sanity...
The lab assessment questions are way too different from the study material she gives us and from the lab manual. I study all week for it and get like a C average because their are some hard questions on there that no one could have predicted would be on there.
The mandatory practice lab assessments aren't helpful for the actual assessments. TA-led class, but TA wasn't allowed to help us with assignments for things we weren't taught because it was a graded assignment. Pre-lab videos don't correlate with pre-lab work. Gave us too much lab work even with our long lab times. Self-learn with your textbook.
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR A&P 1 TAKE DR.REBER INSTEAD!!! Her lab videos never line up with what we're actually doing in lab, and she grades soooo specifically, and it's NOT MULTIPLE CHOICE. You have to memorize the spelling of crazy hard words weekly, and she takes points off for it! Also super rude over email when you ask questions!
if you weren't religious before pick one and start praying is all i have to say…
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. You will surely need it.
