Tests are clear and easy to understand. He posts old exams as study guides so you have a good idea of what concepts he wants you to know. Laid-Back, will push back exam and homework dates, and curve exams by 10 points. I felt like he's there to help you succeed, not to fail you. If you can learn on your own, he's a great choice. Pretty funny too.

Not very good lectures. Had to do most of the learning on my own time. Overall, not too hard of a class though.

The tests were very fair, if you keep up with the owls you should be fine. Go to class and try to learn stuff before the recitation, youll be much better off that way. Hamilton gives powerpoints everyday, goes easy on the clicker questions, and will help you if you ask him.

Dr. Hamilton is a very smart man but he's not good at explaining and relaying topics. his test are very difficult and to do well on them you have to understand all the concepts into depth because there are many trick questions. he's a great man but I would not recommend unless your good at teaching yourself topics.

after 2nd class realized he's more interested in talking about chemistry than actually teaching it. didn't go to a single class after that and ended up with an A and chemistry is my weaker subject. used the OWLs to study and what I didn't get from OWL I watched khan academy video on. wish he taught like khan academy instead of rambling

Dr. Hamilton is very sweet, but he is not the best instructor for an introductory chemistry course. He expects his students to already have some background, so if you don't have any experience taking his class I do not recommend. He is not the best teacher as he expects you to already know how to do everything. Not a recommended teacher for gen

I wouldn't say that he's an awful professor, but he is not the best. Lectures were very hard to understand especially since he never stayed on topic. He gives recovery points for every exam as well. Highly recommend taking another professor.

not a mean person. unlike some other stem profs. go to lecture, but don't expect to learn anything in lecture. u have to use external sources like YouTube/TAs to learn. do the owls because it teaches u how to work through the problems. use old exams and don't fall behind. if u put in the work you'll be fine

Super nice guy, and the grading is pretty straight forward. Really wished he'd teach Orgo 1 so I can take him again. Very funny professor, but he does stumble over his words. His exams aren't terrible at all so long as you do the lecture quizzes and can answer them. OWL homework is LENGTHY but helps tremendously. Scales the exams, bonus points too.

Dr. Hamilton is a brilliant guy, but he is not good at communicating his ideas to students. He teaches everything as if you already have a solid understanding of the topic and as if you know what is going on inside of his head. To succeed in his class, read the textbook beforehand so you can understand the lecture.

Dr. Hamilton is super nice but not the best professor. Hes definitely doable, but hes so smart that he doesnt always know how to dumb things down. I will, however, gladly be taking him again next semester. Once you get used to his teaching style and how he tests, its not bad.

Dr. Hamilton is a very caring professor who will always help when you need it. He does not have the best lectures and he gets off topic easily. He has short videos explaining the main topics that help the most. His tests usually arent bad and he scales!!

His lectures are completely disorganized, most of the time he is very difficult to follow. He goes fairly quickly, the only thing that saved my grade in this class was the recitation score at the end of the semester.

The only way to fully keep up with his lectures is to read the book before class and know the material going into the lecture. As a person, Dr. Hamilton is not open minded. In my experience, he will quickly shoot down anything that you have to say that does not fit into his ideological worldview. I also think that he thinks too highly of himself.

I was so afraid for this course but it's truly not as bad. You may not understand lectures but that's where you need a tutor or someone (youtube) to help you understand the material. Otherwise, you will be 100% okay. Do OWL, Recitations, work his old exams, & SI! He is so understanding & nice; scales & has bonus. Take this, but adjust accordingly!!
