This is the most Rhadamanthine professor I have ever taken. She's probably Rhadamanthus himself reincarnated. Totally power hungry. Rude to students. You can't even be 20 SEC late because you went to go find kleenex. More than half my class has dropped the class-half of the remaining are probably failing. Do yourself a favor-pick someon else.

Stay away from this class at all costs. This is the most sadistic teacher I have ever encountered. Obviously life has been hard for this woman and she now thrives on making it hard for her students. There is no teaching going on in this class, it's merely her showing off and making everyone feel stupid. Impossible to gain knowledge. She's nuts!

We're all going to be hopeless teachers after Tracy's instruction. No one understands the material. Lectures in class are defining vocab, and doesn't explain how it will be used in questions for the homework or tests. Strict time limits on tests. It's a teach yourself class with a waste of time lecture. Lecture rarely ties in with textbook.

This teacher is the definition of HORRRIIBLE!!! and a hypocrite!! NOT RECOMMENDED!All she does in class is vocabulary and defenitions, u think is easy but wait till u see the homework ohh n the tests! worst teacher i have ever had! makes students feel stupid, constantly acts annoyed by the class, and does not know how to teach! goes off on vocab and spends unnecicary amounts of time on things that are irrelevant. Worst teacher ever, counts being late as being absent, dropped me because i was absent and in her words "[I] am being paid to come to class because [I] receive financial aid" bear in mind, I am not receiving financial aid! Sounds a little "odd" if you ask me

if you want a lesson in math vocab then this is the class for you....except for one problem, she takes joy in failing students reguardless of how hard you try. Thank goodness the superintendents are finally implementing diffrent teacher reviews other then usless "student opinion surveys" to evaluate.

Your grade is based 80% off of exams so no homework to help your grade. Her lectures are shoddy and if you want to pass this class, study from the book. She stops to ask if anyone has questions, but no one knows what questions to ask because she is not clear when teaching. You are required to memorize all the formulas and terms so no cheat sheet.

At first I though professor johnston would be a good professor because she seemed very passionate about math. Unfortunately her teaching is confusing and i struggled in her class despite being a consistently A student in math. Study or die.

She was not helpful...DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES. She was mean to many students. NO MAKE-UPs for ANY reason. She did not let people go to the bathroom and hardly answered people's questions. She made a mistake in every single 50-minute session...while having her notes. I wish I would have W'd out sooner!! Notice she does not take math 140 Spring 14

140 is already a hard course. It is harder when you are not able to get clarity througout the course. I stuck through but will not recommend this prof. I have not heard any good feedback from all the other students. There's other good prof in this department- choose someone else.

RUNNNNNN! DONT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!! She is a difficult grader and doesn't help you.

Lectures are different. Homework is graded strict. Tests come out of left field. Book is only used once. You can't miss class AT ALL. Only has office hours once a week. Oh I'm an A student, no biggie. NO YOU WILL FAIL. 25 people started, 8 remain. You do the math (no pun intended). Survival of fittest. Take at your own risk.

If you take her class, you will have to re-take it. Don't waste a semester, choose a different instructor. She's too anal about how she wants you to show your work. If it's not done her way, you won't get credit.

TLDR: DO NOT TAKE! This teacher is very difficult, she doesn't slow down and seems to really only care about covering the material instead of student comprehension. This class was taught like a war of attrition on any students requiring the class. We started with 28 people currently have less than 10. I have logged 85 hours in the math lab.

Not helpful whatsoever. Constantly had an attitude that she was above you and was very condescending when "helping out". Did not cater to her students whatsoever. A direct quote of her's: "When I was in school we didn't have calculators and my instructors still made life hell for me, I see it as my job to instill that pain on to you guys".

Many students that were in that class had already taken her a previous semester because they had failed. I came into this class with an opened mind despite reviews (reviews were right). Long story short she dropped me gave me an F despite military orders I emailed in regards to some training I had. I needed to miss a (part one)

Absolute worst teacher I have ever had by far, and I once had a geography teacher tell me Boston is on the Pacific Ocean. Refuses to slow down and explain in class, simply telling you it's on the homework. Tests are brutal, you can only get credit if you show your work in a VERY specific, nitpicking way. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY OF HER CLASSES!

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS! I unfortunately did not use this website to see her reviews, but man I wish I did because I never would have chose her. She is very strict. Homework is not mandatory however if you do not do it, you WILL NOT pass the class. She's a bit crazy too. She kicked a guy out of the class because he had to miss a day to have surgery..

So the option isn't on here for the class Math 105. She is a very tough grader. Her rules are strict and dramatic. The type of teacher that expects you know a topic even though you may not. Doesn't let us use a calculator on tests. Don't know of I'm going to pass this class! there is a lot of homework and the textbook is not helpful at all!

Super hard class. She made things I already knew confusing. A lot of hw that is hard to keep up with when you are taking other challenging classes. Her lectures are not good and Often she messed up in explaining problems or would explain them so much that none of it made sense.

Johnston can make the simplest math concept the most complicated thing you have ever seen. She enjoys making things harder than they need to be. I do not recommend her class if you are not a mathematics major. Her lectures are awful and hard to follow.

Terrible. I came to every single class, did every (non-graded) homework assignment, and studied my as off before every test. I still somehow managed to get an F in the class. You will basically self-teach because when you ask for help or further explanation, she says that is what the book and internet are for. Last time I checked it was your job.

Does not take criticism very well. Only 1/4 of our class is still in class, handful of them passing. She drops students without telling you. Tests, HW, Lectures are all different material. Nothing matches up. You will self teach and spend 10+ hours doing so/week. She is smart but makes simple concepts difficult, and won't explain (rushes material)

The Course work itself doesn't seem to difficult but this instructor makes the material confusing by rushing through the notes. She gives quizzes and test that can not be made up. So if you miss class you could miss one of the dozens of quizzes and it drops your grade hard. Do not enroll in her classes

Dont take this class unless you can print out every homework assignment. Oh and the math is crazy.

This is BY FAR the WORST professor I have ever had. Assigns homework but does not give credit for it. You grade is only made up by tests. Lecture is very confusing and she refuses to go over it again if you do not understand. Tests are all timed and do not relate to lecture or homework. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

Actually the worst professor I've ever had at Palomar College. She complicates and creates confusion from the easiest of material. The worst thing in this class was the way she presented it. She would rush through a bunch of chapters, and even start future material even though we hadn't taken the exam for the previous sections. Thats one of many.

Let me just start by saying that Tracy was not as bad as I expected, but still not good. Actually, she was quite bad. The material is difficult, and she doesn't make learning it any easier. You have to put in a lot of extra effort to pass Tracy's class. If you're expecting an A - don't. Good luck!

your grade is mostly based on tests. she's smart & clearly loves what she does but the way she runs her class is awful. SUPER hard grader. No reviews, no study guides, doesn't prepare you for tests. she just tells you that you have to study everything that was done in class so far. I would avoid taking her. she doesn't care about her students

This teacher is one of the worst professors Ive had at palomar college. Im going to have to take this class again and this class prevented me from transferring this semester. Her material is very confusing. She doesnt give examples of homework in lecture. Oh and the book has no examples so good luck with that. If you want an A, good luck on that

This teacher is by far the worst I have had at Palomar. She didn't ask the class if they had questions, just dove straight into lectures, and didn't explain anything well. The entirety of the course is graded on tests that she creates a week before. She makes them extremely hard and does not grade on a curve. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER.

I couldn't even go through with her class I dropped it halfway through with a W and so did most of my classmates I heard too. Which doesn't show well for this professor. She isn't helpful at all and all the homework she assigns doesn't count for credit. I wouldn't recommend her, not even to my worst enemy.

Worst professor I've ever had. She dropped me from the class the morning of the 3rd test for missing more than two days, even though we were more than half way through the semester. She has zero compassion for her students and her tests were never based on the homework or the lectures and she even docked you points for being a couple minutes late.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Tracy is one of the worst teachers Ive ever had. She is very strict and expects her students to know all the material. If a question is asked she will tell you to look in your textbook and to figure it out on your own. Her tests have nothing to do with her lectures and the way she trys to explain material is dull.

Really hard to understand and when you ask for help she just tells you to look in the book. Not helpful or approachable to ask questions. Very bad at helping or answering students questions.

She will mark you down for anything she can. It seems she wants her students to fail. She treats everyone like elementary school children. Very condescending and TERRIBLE professor!

I studied for 16 hours for every test & attended review sessions and exams were still extremely hard. I was scheduled to transfer and now I cant because of her class.

I wish I had seen the reviews for this professor before enrolling into my first math course. Tracy is a very strict grader and assigns a lot of homework. Even with all the extra effort put forth this course, I still had to retake it the following year.

Professor doesnt teach anything that is on the tests. Might as well have my pet dog teach the class to everyone. Everyone in class is failing except one or two people who have C's. Needs to cover more material that is actually on the tests.

Ive never felt the need to review any professor, but this is by far the worst class I've taken. The only thing that is graded are the exams. No makeups for exams. I felt like this class was rushed & obviously there's a problem with the professor if more than half the class is failing and students were even RETAKING her class for the 2nd or 3rd Time

DON'T TAKE HER!!! This professor didn't give a single lecture while online. She gave small lecture packets that included basics on the chapters. She doesn't collect any homework, and the tests are 10x harder than any lectures she gives. We started the class with about 30 and ended with 4. Please choose another professor.

Worst professor Ive ever had in my life. Actually, first class Ive failed in my life, and Ive passed stats before. She tells you to simply read the book and her pre-made lectures to teach yourself, then gets frustrated when you ask questions. Her tests do not reflect learned material in any way, and the teacher does not teach.

I'm a straight A student that was advised to drop her class with an F. I put in 16+ hrs a week and still failed. It held off my transfer by a semester. I took it at another school and passed with a B. Read other reviews, she's the problem not students. Save your grade, time, and money by taking with another professor or another school if need be.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! Tracy Johnston is the only teacher i have taken to not teach, and talk about her cat 90% of the time. She somehow find a way to turn every lesson into an hour long conversation with and about her cat. Graded purely on tests that "Don't have trick questions" but ONLY have trick questions. There are o chances to make up work.

Worst professor I have had in my entire life, also the only class I have ever failed. Tests are extremely difficult and unrelated to homework. 90% of the students had stopped attending her course at the end of the semester. She also told us that our week off school for thanksgiving was not for play, and we need to focus on our studies. Unbelievable

While she lectures every day, her test are unbelievably hard and do not reflect the homework nor the notes. My class started with roughly 25 people and within a month, lost over 90% of its students. Don't take this class! This is a tough class to pass with a professor who does not teach very well. Your grade is only based on study guides and exams. There is homework but you will not be required to turn it in. Overall, a horrible class experience, and due to this will be attending somewhere else to take this class. Don't waste your time here!

TOUGH GRADER, boring lectures, no-one likes her. Some people are taking it for the second or third time. ITS HER NOT STUDENTS. Counselors have been hearing a lot of complaints as well.

Honestly, very nice lady but grades very strictly. She has a quiz every lecture and expects us to put in a ridiculous amount of time just for her class. Doesn't like any form of math other than her own and is very strict.

DONT TAKE MATH 105 AT PALOMAR WITH HER GO TO MIRACOSTA INSTEAD...I ended up having a FW grade because I was late once(by one minute) & missed class twice. I waited til the next semester to retake at miracost (since shes the only prof that does 105 & 106) and passed with an A.

She was a horrible professor, the majority of the class was students retaking her course for the second or third time. She wants you to spend 10 plus hours on her class as if we don't have jobs and other classes DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

This is by far the worst teacher I've ever had in any class at any level. Her tests are insanely difficult for something as simple as college algebra and she treats the students like middle schoolers. DO NOT waste your time here and take this course with a different professor.

Lectures are rushed and can't get a straight answer when asking questions. 10+ hours of homework that is not graded but mandatory to pass her class. Homework, quizzes and lectures all don't add up. Expects you to read her mind while she skips steps and does math in her head. Very tough is an understatement, near impossible and not worth the stress.

Her class is structured so specifically without any wiggle room, a few bad quiz's can weigh you down quickly. Homework is required but not graded, expect a quiz every class, and if you miss class- you receive a 0 for the assignments you missed, no makeup assignments offered. She also really hates calculators? but still requires them for her class.

I'm not sure who told her that she's the only teacher in this whole school. She thinks that our lives are supposed to revolve around that one class. She gives us so much work. She's not a bad human but as a teacher BY FAR the worst I've ever had

Unfortunately I was not pleased with this professor. She is very rude/ hot headed and does not explain the material at all. Be ready for a quiz every class. I was dropped from the class unjustly and when I went to speak to her she was very rude and abrupt. Do not take her you will not pass the class and will waste your money.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS YOUR WASTING YOUR MONEY!! I studied for 16+ hours a week, did all of the homework required, went to every lecture, and went to tutoring and still failed terribly. I've never failed a class and have always been a 4.0 student. Even after putting in countless amounts of work I still failed. Does not answer questions well.

Please do yourself a favor and never take this class with Prof. Johns. Every single day we suffered listening to the most boring lecture, and I would have rather watched paint dry than have to sit through those classes again. I had once cried in the bathroom after a lecture due to the pain I endured. Please don't take this class if you enjoy life.

I took her college algebra class in Fall of 2023. It was the introduction class to my first college years. Absolutely terrible, there is zero participation, requires 16 hours minimum a week to study with homework not being graded. Everybody in my class dropped. Counselor even said she was terrible.

She was a terrible answering questions and didn't get to the point when someone asked her a question. A lot of people dropped out and I wouldn't recommend taking any of her classes.

So incredibly difficult to even get a B in this class. She only lectured word for word from the textbook, no examples, and we covered around 2-3 topics each class. She was also really sassy and lowk mean towards students?? She recommended you study for 16+ hours each week, her tests were impossible. don't recommend unless absolutely necessary!!
