Tracy is a great professor, but not because of her lectures. Although frequently unprepared for lecture, she knows her material extremely well and can discuss it like nobody's business.
Horrible, utterly worthless lectures!!! Avoid her like the plague.
Let's see, unprepared, rambles about sexual stuff (obviously not getting any tail), seems rather pissed at the world, and her lectures are impossible to follow. Other than that, a terrific professor.
I quite enjoyed her class, its better than Tantalo!
She made the class interesting -- I actually looked forward to going to class and she gave us exactly what was going to be on our tests.
waste of time
wow..what an utter headcase..I dont understand her hating the world complex and constant power tripping over all the undergrads
She was effective teacher and tought in a way that was easy to understand. Lectures were enjoyable as well.
Very Clear and helpful, but not as helpful in the lab.
this course was way too much work, but it helped my writing, so maybe it was worth it.
Classic absent minded prof. She wanders into class late and unprepaired, and blows everyone away with her mastery of the material and desire to teach. Unfortunatly she is very sensitive to students opionons, disparage her and her cat will know about it.
Frequent mistakes in notes but makes you "ride along" with her and you really learn the material. Her lectures are never a bore and don't even sound like lectures. You're just talking about the subject. And when you leave, you realize you've lea
The Car is driving but no one is behind the wheels! Good teacher, a littte strange. Funny, easy and cool.
She was a great teacher to have. I felt challenged, but not overwhelmed. Very clear on what you need to know and don't need to know.
Tracy is an awesome professor. She is very friendly and very much part of the class during her lectures. She's witty, personable, approachable. She gives very good lectures and I felt very rewarded by having this class with her.
Tracy is funny and I like her personality. She is definitely very smart and I wonder if people that smart should teach, because they have a hard time relaying complex material to the rest of us. She's willing to help you but I got the impression it was because she had to not because she truly cared.
I think Tracy was a very cool teacher. She understands that not all people in the class are in the CE major and she structured her class like that.I would take any class of her's again
Sometimes I felt like she was teaching to me personally, which can be good or bad (I was embarassed when I didn't feel like I had the material). I learned a lot. I feel like I survived, and I'm proud.
Very cool teacher. Definately a little strange, but that Santa Cruz. I learned a lot... you just have to pay really close attention as her train of thought jumps around a lot.

Clearly dedicated to teaching well and conveying the material. The best professor I've ever had in any class.
While Tracy had an energetic approach towards this class, her teaching skills are not that good. The lectures were so boring, and if it weren't for her weekly quizzes, no one would ever show up! The lab portion of the class was quite demanding as well, and the lecture tied in very poorly with the lab! Her final was freakishly easy!
More than half of each class was wasted with random stories or diversions. Many times the class felt pointless with how easy it was. Now that I have taken other classes which require information learned in CMPE 100 I realize I didn't learn the material despite a good grade.
Take her class, and ask as many questions as your heart desires, she will answer them! She is very helpful and will drop everything she is doing if you need to talk to her after class. She is there for you. She is a true mentor and really cares about student progress. A+ in my book.
Shes an awesome teacher! Her class was about very boring stuff but she managed to make the time speed by. didn't fall asleep once. I look forward to having her again for another class next qtr
I learned much more in lab than I did in lecture. Tracy's lectures are much too simple. Easy A, though.
Larrabee's class was fun, as far as discrete mathematics goes. I was kept interested. She and her TAs were very helpful in explaining some difficult concepts personally. Her tests and quizzes are fairly graded. I really can't think of anything bad to say about her!
I actually like her class she has good attitude
The WORST professor at UCSC, hands down, don't take the class! Larrabee can't teach for her life. All we did was watch pointless youtube videos all quarter long. She's also extremely disrespectful toward students, and has a major attitude problem.
Excellent Instructor. If you need help just ask. She makes ever effort to make sure you really learn. If she doesn't know something she will find if out for you. She's comes across as a human. Be ready to work hard and do your part. It will be very rewarding.
Some of the comments seem harsh and not what I have seen from her so far. Very well organized lectures: last lecture recap, onlines slides, open to class discussion and weekly quizzes. The homework does take time but the book is complete and you will learn alot. Tracy is very charismatic, engaging and friendly. I would recommend this class.
A pretty good teacher, although not the best. She goes over what happened in the previous lecture. Although she likes to waste time a little bit by playing youtube videos and start the day off with lolcats, those were quite the enjoyable break from most classes. The weekly quizzes werent bad as long as you studied.
Very receptive to student concerns. Very clear and organized. Willing to bend over backwards to help you succeed. She takes a high-tech approach to teaching, encourages laptops in class. She makes the material interesting, and references to geek culture help keep the class fun. Overall outstanding teacher. Sets the standard for other professors.
Great professor. Takes the time to make sure her students really understand the material. Very energetic in lectures, which are interactive and accessible online. Reasonable grader and person.
I must say, I don't really like Larabee. I can see why most students like her, but I found that her lectures were extremely simple against her quizzes, which I thought weren't always fair. I feel like she takes the material too elementary and doesn't really show us the true complexity of CE. Good class for non-CE majors, otherwise, GLHF
Really good teacher really wants students to learn, feel free to ask her any questions, skype, email, forums, one of the smartest and most interesting teachers at UCSC, if the effort is put in the grade will follow, quizzes were super easy as they were RIGHT out of the homework
shes probably the best professor I had at ucsc. I think its worth it to take the class just to watch her speak. The class for me was inspirational.
Good teacher, definitely puts time and effort into the lectures to make sure the students understand. And will promptly respond to any student having trouble. Tries to keep the class entertaining with jokes and videos, but a lot of them tend to be not funny or just puzzling. Leads to awkward silences...Overall pretty good class though.
Tracy is one of the most animated professors I have ever had. She is always trying to figure out ways to teach people certain concepts the most effectively. It is incredibly easy to do well in her class by doing one simple thing: actually go to class.
This class does require time. I would not have passed with an A had I not gone to the optional sections regularly. Her TAs usually do a better job of making the material less complicated for students new to the computer science field. However, she really wants you to do well and is willing to go out of her way to help you.Shes also funny
Awesome teacher, very approachable and willing to help. Go to section, study for quizzes a little, do the hw, and you can get an A
Great teacher. She will go over any topic or question as many times as necessary. DO NOT be scared to ask questions in class! you are never turned away. Funny, is up to date, loves memes and she gives youtube breaks when switching topics. final was not a mystery at all. you get the grade you earn. text book is FREE! don't buy it early.
Great teacher, made a really hard class pretty easy. Gives more than enough information and help to pass all the material easily.
Take her for 80n!!!! Material might be new to you, but she will walk you through everything you need to know for quizzes and final. If you go to class, read the slides and go to 1 section a week, you will get an A. No surprises on quizzes, she will tell u exactly what to study. Ask ?s & use office hours if you need to. Super helpful. No book to buy!
Really cool and awesome teacher. Her interest in CS 12 was a lot which you can tell with the way she teaches. It's a tough class, so be prepared to read and do homework, and the labs are just awful, spent 12-14 hours per week doing extremely hard labs. Very nice teacher though and super helpful!
If you go to class and do the homework you are guaranteed at least a B. No midterms just weekly quizzes which she pretty much gives the answers to during lectures. Very funny teacher, I would definitely take a class with her again. Loves teaching
Go to class, do the homework, go to MSI, and you are pretty much guaranteed an A. I have never met a teacher with this much of a passion for teaching. Get her as your professor if you get the chance! BEST teacher I've ever had at UCSC!
Super friendly and approachable. Very willing to help students outside of class through the forum/email/skype/any medium that works for the student.
I showed up to class but barely paid attention. Every 10 minutes or so, she would diverge from the topic and we would watch a funny youtube video that usually didn't pertain to the course. She's really enthusiastic and she knows her information really well. She teaches well and her tests/quizzes aren't very difficult either.
She made easy material super confusing just because a lot of people said her class was easy last quarter. She has major attitude towards students who asks "stupid" questions and really likes to make fun of those who try to understand the material she may think is easy.
Larrabee finds the material she is teaching easy and expects everyone to get it. However, the majority of the class were business majors who were unfamiliar with the content. She's definitely enthusiastic and well-verse in her area, but she just can't teach and deliver the content. She is incredibly smart but she can't teach.
Simply horrible of a teacher. Her previous students said the material was simple enough to understand. Well, not for Spring 2013... I didn't know wtf she was lecturing about for the last half of the quarter; went to section and found that more helpful. She cannot teach; just rants on and on and expects you to immediately understand everything.
Hated her. Good class, but I just didn't like her. Sure, she's funny by throwing some teases around every now and then. But when you ask her a question for help/lab/quiz, she gets really arrogant and stuck up. Hated her attitude so much.
This class was unnecessarily difficult! Tracy just rambles on during lectures and her explanations don't make sense AT ALL. The labs generally have nothing to do with quiz material and are very confusing. I hate this class more than anything. I took this class as a required computer class for bme major, but I wish I'd chosen another computer class.
The material itself was not very difficult. Tracy just makes it kind of hard to follow. Not a fun class.
Tracy is one of the most helpful and caring professors at UCSC. She WANTS to help you and WANTS you to learn the material. No midterm, weekly qiuzzes which are very straight forward. The material for this class can be difficult and majority of the class will be in lab. If you do the labs and put in the time, the grade will reflect. Great professor!
Larrabee was an amazing professor. She is very knowledgeable, so sometimes non-CMPSCMPS students may get lost during lectures, but otherwise she really knows her stuff and is always talking about things going on in the tech world. She would take YouTube video breaks and made the material easy to understand (For tech-people, at least). I recommend.
Weekly labs & quizzes, no midterms, 1 final. Labs were difficult and never based on the quizzes. Whatever she says will be on the quiz is never really on the quiz. The only time she's helpful is the day of the quiz because she starts going over a couple questions that are very similar. Hard to study for quizzes because you don't know what to expect
She makes it extremely clear how the examples she did in lecture were going to be on the quizzes. Go to class and do all the examples in the lecture and the quizzes are easy. The online homework was hard to use and many times incorrect but easy to get full credit on.
Larrabee is absolutely amazing. I went into this class as an business econ major but thanks to this class I've found my passion for computer science. She is so incredibly smart and clear while teaching. Take this class you won't regret it.
Awesome professor. She will honestly work her hardest to make sure students understand. The quiz-a-week structure is way better than the normal midterm structure in my opinion.
Professor Larrabee is one of the most inspirational and gifted professors that I have ever known. I found her lectures to be clear, informative, and entertaining. I highly recommend her.
Larrabee is an excellent and engaging lecturer with a passion for teaching. She taught so well, that the class seemed easy despite the material being somewhat difficult! There are weekly quizzes that come from lectures and the homework so it'd be in your best interest to review those! She posts her lectures online as well. Would highly recommend!
CE-16 with Larrabee is one of the best classes I have ever taken. The material isn't hard, but a little studying and/or practice is still needed if you want an A. However, professor Larrabee is very straightforward and easy to understand, and genuinely cares about her students. No midterm, but she tells you exactly what to expect on each quiz.
Larrabee is an incredibly passionate teacher, and she really cares about her students and the material. To do well in the class, I would go to MSI, and don't be afraid to ask questions during lecture (in fact, she encourages it)
Ms Larrabee is really engaging, funny, and a good teacher. I learned a lot from her. However she was not clear on the content for tests. She would say "Don't worry about this for this weeks quiz" and then it would appear on the quiz anyway. The homework rarely reflected the quizzes, it was mostly the slides, which she doesn't post so take pics
Good professor, easy weekly quizzes, no midterm
Awesome teacher, great personality and will keep you entertained. No Midterm, 10 pop quizzes and a cumulative final. All test materials are very fair and straight forward. At time Tracy does rush some material, so don't be lazy and review her lectures and the book on your own. Take good notes and understand the quizzes before you take the final
Larrabee's lectures are actually entertaining - she makes you want to class. Which is a good thing, because I feel like this class would be very very hard if you don't go to lecture, but is very manageable if you do go to lecture. If you don't understand something, just ask - she'll try her hardest to get it to click. Fantastic teacher!
Wow.. The class was very entertaining. There's no midterm but ten quizzes instead (she does her best to quietly give you the answer throughout the lectures mainly on Tuesday). Her quizzes are manageable and sometimes quite challenging to say the least. I would definitely go to section as the TAs are awesome at explaining the concept.
Great professor. Some people found her lectures to be too fast, but I though they were fine. I rarely took notes and I rarely read the book. You only have to attend the last half of class on quiz days, but she does her best for people who show up on non-quiz days. Lectures are online unless broken. DRC students' best friend. Active on forums.
Larrabee was a good teacher. Quizzes and the final were super easy, and lectures are all recorded and online, so you don't need to show up except for the quizzes. Her lectures were hilarious and she likes to sprinkle in a joke or four here and there. She is very caring too, though a little off-putting in her office hours. Overall great teacher!
great teacher, spectacular human. If you do the homework, you ace the quizzes, and she is really good at wanting to help. (Plus she understands what it is like to be a female in STEM so she can relate)
She was one of the most fun professors I had. She taught us to understand and encouraged us to make mistakes to learn. Also her TAs are pretty helpful for the weekly quizzes that she gives.
She was one of the most fun professors I had. She taught us to understand and encouraged us to make mistakes to learn. Also her TAs are pretty helpful for the weekly quizzes that she gives. Easy A.
Professor Larrabee is hilarious, and runs the class in a pretty laid back manner. Weekly homework graded for submission and weekly quizzes -with some scores dropped. She made herself available frequently through email or video conferencing. The final upped the ante a bit, but it's just fine if you keep up with your studying!
She is alright. People love her cuz she's easy. However, she doesn't prepare you enough for upper-div classes. Go to class, she'll tell u what's gonna be on the quizzes and the final. Final is 45% of your grade and it's harder than the quizzes so be ready. Class' TAs are great. She spend a lot of time talking random stuff than actually lecturing.
can i just say..... AWESOME??? Tracy has become my most favorite professor in this entire school! She's been teaching at UCSC for decades and she knows how to teach! She makes things easy to learn and fun too! At first I thought, why does she sound like a drill sergeant? But after I got used to it, I really liked it! Definitely take a class w/ her!
Tracy obviously cares about the her student's success and is willing to helps. Although she does her best to help, as a lecturer, I found her to be inconsistent and sometimes unclear. She goes off tangent often and loses her train of thought easily. Personally, lectures were done too fast for me, but some people seem ok with it. 5/5 person though.
Amazing teacher, she loves to be helpful and encourages questions. She goes over the concepts multiple times in a week to make sure everyone understands.
With a large class, she tries her best to help as many as she can, and she explains the concepts clearly. She goes over some concepts repeatedly, and she is clearly passionate about the subject and computer engineer or computer science majors as well. The only flaw is that she goes on tangents a bit too often, but they're not too bad.
Wonderful teacher, prolly the best for CE! 40% quizzes and 50% final. Quizzes aren't hard nor easy, she tells you whats on it the day before and goes over the topics right before. STUDY for the final, hardest part of the class. Lots of partial credit. Make sure u go to MSI so u can get that 5% extra credit and extra help, they are extremely helpful
Pop quiz for every week, but no midterm. The lecture is helpful, and lecture is based on the textbook.
Larrabee is just a cool professor without trying to be a 'cool' professor. She teaches well and is very good at interacting with her students. There's quite a bit of homework, but the graders don't look at it; however, if you don't put a lot of effort in, she'll use that against you if you ask her to bump up your grade at the end of the quarter.
She's laid back &funny prof. Covers basic concept of discrete nicely, but doesn't prepare you for proof heavy course (e.g CS101). You are guaranteed to do well as long as you put some effort and go to MSI. I felt like I didn't get much out of her class, but her lecture is entertaining to a point where I made sure I showed up on time for her lecture
hella chill and nice teacher. There's a quiz every week which really makes you keep yourself up to date on the concepts and whatever she's teaching. Weekly quiz means no midterm and I prefer that so much more, kind of a way to force you to learn the concepts
Tracy genuinely wants her students to succeed. Lectures are explained clearly, but MSI sections are necessary to get an A. You will emerge from the class with a good feeling of what you've learnt.
I took this class about 1 year ago. She is funny and pretty good at what she does. The only reason I got an A- was because I didn't do so well on the final. You need to pass the final to pass the class. The material was not hard and when she teaches it, its an easy class.
This is the easiest class you will ever take. Larrabee likes to tell a lot of stories, but I passed easily with an A. I didn't really ever show up to class except for the quizzes, and PRO TIP: you can watch the lecture videos at double the speed so that classes are half the amount of time.
While Tracy is a nice professor and her weekly quizzes were easy/fair, the final was quite miserable. Additionally, her policy of failing the final (even by 1 percent)makes you fail the class regardless of your previous grades is not fun. Multiple very long and brutal proofs on the final that took over a page to prove. Beware
Tracy is a great teacher, but she goes to fast in class for you to take notes. My suggestion listen to her lectures instead of trying to notate it. If you still want to take notes do it in MSI or review the lecture videos. MSI is a gem you should definitely go. Again Larrabee is a great teacher, but I can confidently say that MSI got me my grade.
Tracy is the best professor I've had at UCSC so far. She made math fun and rewarding. She explains topics so well and I left lectures feeling confident and prepared. There is homework due once a week along with a quiz that she is very fair about. She lets you know ahead of time what's on the quiz and MSI is a HUGE help. The final was harder though.
She's a great person but frankly not the best professor. Her lectures go way too fast and I ended up learning concepts through only my section or MSI. Very caring and understanding and lots of opportunities to succeed. take advantage of them and don't underestimate the final (it's not like the quizzes)
Most enjoyable lectures @ UCSC. One Quiz & HW every week. Class is easy if you keep up with the lecture, go to MSI, section and class (takes time). She's hilarious and very clear, loud and easy to follow. She cares about UCSC students and also works in the admin. Take every class you can with her. CE 16 regardless, is still challenging.
If you are taking ce16, GO TO MSI. You will receive 5% extra credit for attending both section and MSI. Showing up to lectures or watching the webcasts will likely earn you an A in this class (on top of MSI). LOTS of partial credit given to the quizzes and the final.
Larrabee is an entertaining professor but sometimes it is hard to follow along with her as she is very scattered in how she teaches. Do not underestimate the final and some quizzes. Overall, the class was not that difficult and it was enjoyable. (Tip: go to MSI and section!)
Tracy is hilarious and genuinely cares about her students. This class covers a LOT of material and it can be really hard to keep up with, so make sure you go to MSI and/or section. Homework and quizzes can be tricky, but they're usually doable. The final was also not too bad, with most problems being easier than the homework.
She taught an alright discrete math class. The class was defiantly simplified and felt more repetitive than formulaic. Lecture time was not used appropriately and many topics felt rushed.
She was definitely genuinely interested in the subject. Study for every quiz (they are weekly), do the hw, and definitely study for the final. You might get away with doing 2/3 of those things , wouldn't really suggest it though.
Tracy is a fun teacher and her lectures are very fun. There was not a midterm, but there were quizzes every week. MSI tutors really helped with understanding, and the final really reflected what was given on all of the quizzes. Tracy will pass you if she believes that you have shown a consistent effort and understanding of the content.
Course was decent but seriously simplified compared to a typical discrete math course (content is cut). Lectures were OK, Larrabee's humor is fun. Grading criteria was straightforward + fair. MSI tutoring available + essential for an A - lots of extra credit available as well. Final was quite difficult compared to quizzes - prepare for curveballs.
Such a great professor, available over email and office hours, make sure you go to MSI and section to get the extra credit and they are very helpful too (all the MSI tutors are very good). Very interesting and fun class too. Tracy made sure to keep it an interesting class especially for it being an 8AM.
Tracy is the best! Take a class with her if you can, she's great at lecturing and explaining the course material. She cares for her students and wants to help you understand the material.
Larrabee is kind, caring, and funny. Her lectures are great and the way she engages students is unparalleled by any other teacher at the university. You can tell she wants her students to succeed through engagement and dedication. She is truly gifted at teaching.
Im gonna be brutally honest when I say I had better teachers at community college before transferring. She is often getting sidetracked in the middle of solving examples, makes frequent typos/misspeaks, and worst of all fails to solve her own questions correctly. She then gives gibberish explanations to try and cover instead of admitting her error
Larrabee is literally my favorite professor at UCSC, she is so amazing and deeply cares about her students. Her lectures are not only hilarious, but super helpful. She gives multiple extra credit opportunities and grades accordingly to the classes performance. She will not only help you enjoy learning the material, but master it in different ways.
Literally won't go wrong if you take her. CSE 16 had the clearest grading criteria and told you exactly what was gonna be on the final. Class was slightly hard, but that's just the content going jangle jangle.
Fair disclaimer, I took her for CSE16 during remote operation. She is highly rated because she is undoubtedly a caring and understanding professor; it's hard to be critical towards this combo. The truth is remote instruction isn't for her. She's easily distracted, spends too much time reviewing clueless questions then rushes through new material.
One of the best professors I ever had. Was super nice and funny, and her grading was not too harsh.
Fantastic personality
Pretty matter of fact teacher, will give you the resources needed to pass.
Tracy is a really amazing professor, and it's obvious she cares a lot for her students. She's pretty lenient in general, and there's a lot of assistance available for this class. Completely recommend her for literally any class that she teaches <3
So this is my first coding class and it was going ok. But it went from 0 to 100 really quick for me so i dropped this course because I was taking 20 units to begin with and I didn't need to for my major(just wanted to learn how to code). She is a caring person and would highly recommend for this course. And the TAs were an amazing support.
Class started out easy, but then assigned a final to purposely fail students. Would not let TAs help with assignments towards the end of the year. I would not recommend this professor, regardless of whether you wanted to learn or not. Hard to understand lectures, seems scattered.
Lectures are completely irrelevant to tests. This professor is a nice person, but she does not teach at all. She seems unorganized, and the assignments are impossible to complete. For the final, she made it hard on purpose to try to fail students that “didn’t pay attention in class.” She didn’t let the TAs help at all.
This was my first coding class and I'm glad to have taken it with Tracy. Her TAs were awesome as was she. People complained about the final but I attended all the sections and kept up with the assignments and hw so I ended up finishing with a nearly perfect score on it. Just be ready to put the work in since ZyBooks teaches everything.
We used zyBooks a lot and it helped out some people more than listening to the lectures did. Some of the teacher assistants really go out of their way to help people out with their coding, even when it's outside of their office hours. Not too difficult, but if you're not paying attention, it will be hard to do some of the stuff.
Final was hard but its curved. Talks about plagiarism and cheating so much it scared me to look stuff up to help. Need to pass the final to pass the class. Overall a lot more difficult than what people say. I think she got a lot more strict because a lot of people were caught cheating last quarter and failed the class.
Go ahead with Tracy! She is so kind and cool.
Weekly quizzes, lectures optional but quizzes based on lecture slides, not zyBooks. zyBooks teaches most of content and is ok at it, but it carries the class and covers a lot of brunt material. No midterm, not expecting to be blown away by final, week 6+ is when quizzes become frqs and get tougher, no makeups but 3 out of 10 quizzes get dropped
She does not care about you. It doesn't matter if you couldn't get your project submitted on time because there were issues on the website she wants us to do the projects on. I'm assuming you have to be in critical condition for her to hear you out
She is a great professor, explains things really well. If you have a question you can stay a little after class and ask, or you can contact her through the discord. Attendance isn't really mandatory, but it is for the in person weekly quizzes. Section attendance is graded though. She assigns a lot of homework, but it's doable and the homework helps
As long as you do not procrastinate on the coding assignments, the class will be doable. I have little to no coding experience and I am not a Computer Science major, but I was able to do well. If you are confused on a topic, Larrabee or any of her TAs are very helpful. Larrabee is easy to approach and loves answering questions :).
Larrabee is great at explaining concepts helpfully, in conjunction with the ZyBooks textbook that is most of the course. She is extremely relaxed, doesn't have a midterm, and doesn't stress the final too much. It's an easy A if you do the work on time and use the resources available.
Just close ur eyes and take this class! Professor Larrabee's lectures weren't that helpful but still recommended to attend some every week to just get a general understanding of the class. Most of the learning is done through the zybooks online workbook. There are weekly quizzes but most are pretty easy. No midterm and TAs are really good!
Overall was an easy and fun class, though I did stress quite a bit at times (cough assignment 6 & 8 and anything recursion). Lectures are optional, discussions are not. No midterm, weekly quizzes instead. No makeups or retakes for quizzes, quiz portion is from top 7/10 quizzes. Zybooks has most content but make sure to check lecture slides.
Larrabee is a amazing professor, she is considerate and grades well.
I took CSE20 during Fall 2022 with Professor Larrabee. The lectures were Mon-Wed-Fri from 8:00 am - 9:05 am. She tends to be very energetic in early in the morning and likes to interact with the students during her lectures. She always elaborates her lectures for those who don't understand, but can stray away from the main topic.
As a non-STEM major, I struggled hard in this class. Tracy is hard to follow and jumps around a lot. Syllabus was NEVER clear. Constantly had to guess what was going on in the class. Cheating guidelines are unclear, they make you feel like if u look at ANYTHING you are cheating. I was scared to look anything up. Be ready to work hard independently.
I've never hated a class or a group of people running a class like I have here with the TAs and the teacher
I couldn't have asked for a more inspirational teacher. She really is a role model for women in stem. Unfortunately she is retiring this year :(. I wish I could have take more classes with her. Very forgiving and enthusiastic about her subject, you will learn.
Super funny professor, no filter whatsoever. Almost all assignments were done on ZyBooks, aside from final. Late work accepted at 50% credit Coming from already knowing Java, C, and C++, Python was not too difficult to learn, but you definetly have to keep up with assignments. Weekly quizzes in lieu of midterm, lowest 3 scores dropped.
Larrabee is very cool and considerate. Great professor.
