She is a very well prepared teacher. She'll give you her summery notes for all chapters to study. There'll be some individual quizes and group work quizes after an end of each chapters. They're very helpful when it comes to a real test.
Prefessor Mithchell was very helpful. Very encouraging. She shows interest in her students. Very nice. Her notes were awesome and very clear. To pass the test just study of the notes.
She is a very good teacher. She explains everything well and she would help you if you need help in anything in class. She also has a great sense of humor. Take her!
An excellent professor, she is like a book on the subject matter and excells pedogogically, meaning she is charismatic, helpful and very educatated. You will learn a lot about chemistry from her.
Excellent prof. She knows exactly what she's talking about. Gives great printed notes in class. The notes were good enough that I never even cracked my book open and got an A in the class.
she made a hude difference in my life. she is an excellent professor. she gives her own notes (which are really clear) for each chapter. you dont even hae to open your book. her quizes are very helpful when it comes to the exam. i strongly recomand her to enybody...
She is the best professor in all of Wright!! She is easy to talk to, she is very thorough and clear in her teaching, she is very helpful and always available! Highly recommended!
She's without a doubt one of the best teachers I ever had. She loves teaching, has infinate patience, cares about her students and is always willing to give extra help. Her lessons are organized, she's able to explain concepts on many different levels, and relates the material well to other subjects. And she's hillarious in a cute/dorky way!
The class isn't easy. There are a lot of quizzes and material to go over. But she does give out packets, lots of extra credit, chance to work with partners for quizzes, and is extremely helpful when you come up to her to ask a question. chemistry II is not easy, but if you had to take it, go for her!
The best teacher I ever had!
She's hot!!!!
She is a great teacher. She is always available to answer questions both in and out of class.
this is one of the best professors i have ever had. she is very patient, beleive me i know. she helps you out as much as you need and gives hints througout the quizes and tests, only if you ask though. highly recomended!!! i will be taking her next semester for 203... i cant live without her
She is by far the best professor I've had so far. The material is presented in a very clear way and she is extremely organized. There is no need to buy the textbook because she provides packets that have all the information. You can tell that she really enjoys teaching. Exams are not that hard and she prepares you for the all material on them.
by far the best teacher I could emagine teaching this class. The profession needs more people like her . I truly don't think I would have gotten an A in either 201 or 203. Highly recomsnded and plus she saves you like 200 bucks for not having to buy the book.
I had the privilege of having Dr. Mitchell for Chem 201 and Chem 203; I must say she is an outstanding professor. She is not easy and neither are her exams, but she definitely prepares you to do well. Her lectures are clear, relatable, and fun. She is extremely helpful, patient, and will go out of her way to explain the material even if it is from
Dr. Mitchell is an excellent teacher. She is extremely organized, approachable, and makes chemistry as easy to learn as I have yet experienced. She does not force participation like some professors, and I think because of this people are more comfortable and frequently do try to participate in class. She is very engaging. A great chem instructor!
She is so nice and helpful.Rate for her!
She is brilliant, helpful, and quite attractive ;) She will help you with any questions you may have. She's also accessible after class if you just want to discuss anything. I HIGHLY recommend Prof. Mitchell, both for Science and non-Science majors. Taking her for Orgo next semester, and I can't wait!
Dr. Mitchell is a very nice professor. She makes everything so simple and easy to understand. You will definitely get an A if you take notes and ask questions. I'm selling a lab manual(NEW 100%) for this class at a very good price. Email me if you are interested: [email protected] :)
I LOVE her! Can't wait to take her for orgo! Shes super organized, &knows wat shes talkin bout.Chem ain easy, but she teaches the material well &shows examples step-by-step.I dont like labs but Im jus a big dork,&I love& anticipate lecture days.Tests are brutal, but pay attention, study hard,& ull do great. Take her, shes a must!U wont regret it! =D
Fantastic teacher, but sometimes worked too fast for me. really clear and helpful though, and always answers any questions i have. highest regards to this professor.
I am getting an A. She is Brilliant! Of course you have to study, but she will teach you the material intensely. I strong ly recommend taking her.
Dr. Mitchell is an AMAZING chemistry teacher! Best one I've ever had. She knows her material backwards and forwards and loves questions. She is infinitely patient and treats every question seriously. She's also really funny and pretty! Study her handouts for quizzes and tests and you'll get an A. The book is optional for additional clarification.
GREAT TEACHER! I loved her teaching style so much, that I'll keep this short and sweet. Don't need book, but it may help (or Organic Chem as a Second Language). Honestly, Do your Group Work, and all labs and classwork, and study. It's not terrible with her teaching. Wish I could take Orgo II with her
I am disappointed with her teaching style. I felt like a grade school student with the 30 page handouts. Also, I found her grading system unfair, if you do not show the work she wants, regardless if you got the right answer, she gives you no credit. Overall, a bad experience, did not get an A.
As a mature student, I LOVE Dr. Mitchell's teaching style. Her class notes are extremely thorough, and she works through all the examples that are on the tests and quizzes. There are no surprises on the exams and her policies are clearly stated. If you are looking for an easy "A", you will be disappointed. If you want to learn, she's the best.
Wonderful instructor!! gives lots of handouts.if you understand the group works and study the handouts, you should make an A in the quizzes and tests. Tests are usually 3-4 hours long. No full workings no credit given, even if you get the answer right!! Attendance is mandatory, if u arrive late to class you miss 1 point and leave early miss 1 point
Dr. Mitchell is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She takes the time to clearly explain the material and is able to make it easy to understand. Anyone complaining about her exams did not prepare enough to do well. She provides her students with what they need to know in order to do well on her exams and the final ACS exam. Take her class!!!
Dr. Mitchell was great i honestly loved the way she did her class. group study, quiz, exam, repeat. her teaching style is as clear as it gets, and her notes are just as concise. She was usually a sweet lady, but sometimes she just seemed really stresses, probably just a few bad days. she's undoubtedly the only teacher to take for 203. at Wright.
If you have any plan of getting an A in this class DO NOT TAKE MITCHELL. Her exams are so tough and make up a majority of your grade. Shes nice at first but straight up bogus towards the end. Kids in my class spend hours a day studying and still cant get an A in her class. Overall she knows the material and is a good teacher but do not expect an A
She's one of the best professors I've ever met!
Probably the best Chemistry teacher I ever had. The way she teaches is very clear and thorough. She leaves you very well-prepared for tests and quizes.
Amazing teacher. Teaching style is really clear and easy to understand.
By far the best professor you'll find at any of the city colleges! She is thorough & very friendly. Study the material DURING the week, do your group work BEFORE it's due and you can easily earn an A! Dr. Mitchell's class was a true breath of fresh air! Must take!!
Amazing professor! Highly recommended. Supplies lecture notes. Tests are challenging, but they prepare you well for the ACS standardized final. Grades based off exams, group work, labs, & quizzes. Drops lowest lab & quiz grade. Extremely helpful & really knows the material inside & out. It's clear she's passionate about teaching.
She is amazing. The material is hard, but she makes it very easy for you to understand. Gives a lot of Extra Points. You can only drop one quiz, all exams counts. She is very helpful, and organized. Loved her class!!!
I did my research and found Dr. Mitchell had great reviews. I could not have been happier with her style of teaching. She is thorough yet has expectations. There is homework due each week with quizzes in btn. Exams are based off both. PRINT HER NOTES!! Ask questions-she won't move on without having clarified the topic. TAKE HER! I PROMISE!!!!
Professor Mitchell is absolutely amazing at teaching. If you put in the required work, an A in the class is totally doable. Very organized professor and very approachable. A must take for chem 203! Also office hours are a great help. She's always there for her students. Pay attention. DO the the work on time and study and you'll be fine. :)
Took this class and tbh it was the best class i took in wright professor mitchell been recominded by my friends and i thank god for takin it with her she is wonderful she makes it crystal clear and more importantly she helps you with any question. She always had her style in making our class the best. Very hilarious. An easy A if you lookin for one
Dr Mitchell is the best teacher I ever had! HANDS DOWN!! She is VERY organized and always there for her students. If you work hard, getting a high grade will not be a problem. Lab reports are due right after the lab and no lab reports writing at home. Quizz every chapter, exam every two chapters. This class was challenging but Dr M.T IS AWESOME!!!!
Dr. Mitchell is my spirit animal! I just wish I was as talented as she is within Chem. Her class was not easy for me, I studied so much all the time. She really gave us the best lecture notes ever. She is very organized, everything is always prepared and clearly written out. Lecture notes are used to study for Exams and Quizzes. Show up!
I have to say this is the best chemistry professor there is. She's very organized, sets clear expectations, communicates exceptionally well, is patient, and her lectures are second to none in which she simplifies complicated concepts. That being said, you have to do your part to get an A. Pay attention, write down all her notes, ask questions...
doc mitchell is awesome... bad thing is mandatory attendance and she wont let you leave early. hard class, study hard to get an A & no need for the textbook because she makes you print out chapter lecture notes which is everything in the test. group work are like her quizzes & test every 2 chapters which makes it more reasonable.
Very nice lady. Her class was very interesting. She offers extra credit up the wazoo. Super super easy B, or easy A. I would take her again.
Tracy is the BEST! Lots of Extra credit. Work hard and you should get an A. Get ready for a lot of cheesy jokes.
A GEM. I feel so prepared for the ACS exam! I actually understand chemistry now! SHE IS INCREDIBLE! A true artist of teaching, shes the best chem professor I ever had.
Tough
Amazing, witty, professor. She really knows her stuff and teaches in the clearest possible way. Take her if you have a chance
I love Dr. Mitchell, she is amazing, very organized and the way she breaks down the lectures is really simple to understand. You do not need the book, you study with packets of notes that she has prepared. I rarely studied for this class because her explanations were really great. I'm definitely taking her again for Chem 203.
Dr. Mitchell is the best chem professor at wright. Her lectures are so easy to understand because of the way she breaks the lectures down. There's 4 exams + ACS exam and quizzes as well. I'll be taking her for Chem 203 as well because she's just so amazing. Optional homework.
I took this class and failed. I changed my study habits, retook, and passed with an A. You have to work for what you want. Dr Mitchell explains everything during lecture. Definitely read ahead prior to lecture to clear out any confusion. There are quizzes and exams at least once a week. Study! She's an awesome teacher, you just have to want it.
Dr. Mitchell's lectures are amazing. She explains the material very well and she is willing to help whenever you have questions. I have learned a lot in her class. If you want to understand chemistry, this is the teacher you need! Quizzes and tests throughout the semester. If you come to class you pretty much understand everything you need to know.
Though I didn't get more than a C in her class, I must say that she is a fantastic teacher. She is fair, she teaches well, and truly wants her students to succeed. That being said, she is not the easiest chem professor and you really need to work hard if chem doesn't come naturally to you. She's very approachable which I did not take advantage of.
Dr. Mitchell is an amazing professor! She gives you everything you need to know in the lecture and very well prepares us for quizzes and exams with our group work exercises. How to pass is straight forward. Always go to class and pay attention to lecture. She makes jokes or says small things to wake up the classroom if she sees it necessary.
She's very clear when explaining topics, she will make sure students understand what's going on before she moves on to the next section, and she's really helpful. As usual, don't be afraid to ask questions and ask for help.
She's very clear when explaining topics she will go over them as many times as necessary for students to understand. She suggests hw problems from the book but those are completely optional, she is pretty flexible with her office hours and stays on top of everything, specially grading. she makes the class enjoyable and easy going. Excellent teacher
she is one of the most organized professors I ever had. she has a high level in teaching. her exams are very challenging. they are hard but the one who goes through chemistry major will enjoy. she has a respectfull way to answer emails. I had with her chemistry 203 and I am eager to take with her chemistry 205 as well.
She is the best chemistry teacher you can have. Her notes are really clear and neat and she explains things very clearly too. It is a hard class in general so you do have to put in the work but she prepares you pretty well for the test. She gives some extra points here and there but not much extra credit.
Professor Mitchell is truly a gem. The best Chem Professor I have ever had. The class is tough, but she provides all the notes you need to be successful in the class. She has open doors to all her students, and is truly overall a great human being. So if you're looking for an easy A, this is not the professor for you. Study and you'll be fine.
She's pretty great!!! All of her lectures are very clear, and if they are not, she always makes sure to answer the class' questions, is very approachable and nice! I love her.
One of the best professors that I have ever had. She is very clear, very organized, friendly, funny, and fair. She tells you exactly what her exams cover, and does her best to prepare you for the ACS exam at the end of the semester. I highly recommend taking her, especially if you have problems with chemistry.
Honestly wish she could teach every subject in college. You will not find many professors like her that can make a 4 hour CHEM 203 summer class feel so easy. And she's super friendly and humorous. A great person and an even greater professor. Stop debating and choose her for your next Chem course !!!
Dr. Mitchell was very disorganized and behind on lectures/assignments from the very first week of class. She pushed back exams so we ended up having three exams during the last week of class. She had a bad attitude with students regularly and would complain about how busy/stressed she was every day. Her lectures were thorough and well-taught.
Professor Mitchell was one of the best remote professors I have had thus far. Although the class wasnt on schedule, it was because professor Mitchell wanted to make sure her students knew the material before jumping into a test or a quiz. Not only does she have great informative lectures, she accommodates based on her students needs! Take her!
The best class I have had in quite some time. Despite challenges of forced online learning due to Covid-19, Dr. Mitchell worked hard to give thought out lectures that were recorded and posted online. A student posted that she pushed back the tests and had 3 the final week. This was a student suggestion and was voted on by the class during lecture.
Dr. Mitchell is a nice and humorous professor, and her class is well-organized and knowledgable. Instead of going through the PowerPoint, her Take notes while giving lectures pattern is very helpful for understanding and memorizing the content. She really put times and efforts into her class and cares about student. I truly recommend this class
Dr. Mitchell can be nice, but also not nice if she is not in mood. She ended class abruptly after students asking her to add points to the quizzes for mistakes on quizzes or there being no right answer. I do not recommend taking her class and stresses students out not knowing where you stand with grades. 9 Labs, 7 Homeworks, 7 Quests/Quiz, & Final
Professor Mitchel is an impeccable teacher. She is well-verse in what she does and cares about her students. Summer class is hard given the time frame. However, her teaching and the way the materials are taught makes the subject easy to absorb. She wants best for her students and expects them to work hard, which is the quality of a great teacher.
Dr. Mitchell was an excellent professor and I highly recommend her class. Despite the unusual circumstances for this class, she was always willing to work with us and was very understanding. She gave great remote lectures and always posted recordings of the lectures, which was extremely helpful.
You will learn a LOT in Dr Mitchell's class and still save time and effort. Her Summer 2020 class was her first experience in remote or online teaching. To maintain academic honesty, she worked very hard to create test questions from scratch, they were simple and based on lecture. She also deserves a lot of credit on what she does to help students.
I took Dr. Mitchell's first remote summer course (made remote due to COVID-19). In summary, she was wonderful. She always gave clear guidelines for the week's agenda, she listened to the needs of her students, her notes were clear and directly reflected tested material, and her scoring was very fair. I could not have asked for a better professor.
Dr. Mitchell clearly cares that her students excel in her class, and will do what she can in order to help you succeed as long as she sees you want to succeed. Even with remote learning due to COVID-19, it was not too difficult, as long as you spend the necessary time.
Dr. Mitchell is the best professor I've ever had. She really cares about her students and wants everyone to do the best they can. She is patient, always free to help, and you feel comfortable asking her questions or participating in the lecture. Her notes are organized and she color codes them to make them easier to understand for studying.
Very considerate professor. Even during this pandemic, her energy was bright, not annoyingly bright, that she made our 9:30 am class less dull and tedious. You pay attention in class and do your labs and you should do well.
Professor Mitchell's notes were so meticulous and thorough, which made the subject less difficult. Do well in the quizzes as they make up the majority of your grade (labs and homework are easy points). Group labs were a hit or miss for some, especially if you did all the work and the rest did not. I did not use the book, just notes. Highly recomnd
Dr. Mitchell is a true sweetheart!! Her class is a little hard but she gives you all that you need! Ask questions and she will answer them with no issues! She made me not hate chem and motivated me when I was feeling down. Great professor!!!! Take her you will not regret it. She definetly wants her students to do good and succeed!!
Dr. Mitchell is by far my favorite professor. I took her for 203 and honestly, she made understanding the material super easy. Very thorough with explanations and made sure we were all on board before moving on! I highly recommend her.
Highly recommend! Dr. Mitchell is very organized, and provides extra resources to enhance your understanding. She is such a kind person which makes her approachable to ask her anything. In order to understand, you MUST attend or watch her lectures! She records every lecture which helps A LOT! Work hard & you will do fine. AMAZING PROFESSOR!
She was very accessible and office hours were a blessing. Private meetings allowed me to get my questions answered without 20 people being there in zoom. If you don't pay attention/review lecture you'll probably do poorly. I had to study to succeed. Her bonus points & grading was helpful. I appreciate the enthusiasm and energy for science& learning
Dr. Mitchell is the best! She is very organized, you always know what is expected of you, and you know your grades right away. She knows how to teach chemistry so that her students really understand the information and are prepared for the exams. You have to show up for class, and work hard. It's not an easy A, but she makes it stress free.
Extremely nice, and made chem clear and thorough. She shows she cares about students, and as long as you pay attention during lectures, follow along, do as asked, study study study, you should get an A. Do all your homework and labs, bc those points help cushion you. Do any extra credit she offers. Go to office hours if you're struggling
Absolute gem in the chemistry department at Wright. Mitchell's lectures were the key to gen chem 2, and she cares a lot about her students. Gen chem 2 isn't easy, but Mitchell makes it as stress free as possible. Do all the extra problems she provides, doing just the HW is not enough for the quests (if you want an A or B). Do all labs and HW!
study your assigments , never miss a lab and your good. Also take notes in class.
Literally was one percent from passing the classes and still gave me a non passing grade. Reckoned coming to class she will not pass no matter how close you are to get rounded off. DONT RECOMMEND
If you need to take Chemistry 203, you should definitely take it with her!! She is an amazing professor! She is very organized. Tests are not that hard as long as you study. She makes you understand complex things very easy! Plus she offers a lot of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. She doesnt give you a lot of homework.
All of the positive things said in other reviews about Prof Mitchell are correct. She is kind, available to help, and the class requirements are clear. My struggle is that in a 3+ hour long class she doesnt offer any break time, and frequently will lecture 30+ minutes over the set class period, often times introducing new material in this time.
Hands down the best chemistry teacher. She is so great. The lectures are long, filled with work but she teaches with such precision that it is not difficult to understand the material. She makes the difficult things look easy. Would take her again if she were teaching other classes! Theres chapter tests, final exam, chapter assignment and some EC
Professor Mitchell is a great professor. Her online class was filled with lots of lecture, but she recorded all of it. Homework had multiple chances to change your answer for a higher grade. "Quests" were difficult, so be sure to really pay attention and take good notes. She met with me multiple times throughout the semester to help, and was great.
Great Prof, explain things well and made sure to review old topic before starting something new.
Profesor Mitchell was one of the best professors I have taken in my academic career. She is respectful, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable and passionate in what she teaches. I have learned so much from Dr. Mitchell and would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone. The class is a lot but she is always there to assist and guide you if you need.
Professor was absolutely amazing. She made gen chem 2 seem so much easier than I thought it was. Her explanations were clear and easy to manage. She would always ask the students if there are any questions we had about the lectures. Also do all the extra credit, they help a lot!! IF YOU EVER GET THE CHANCE TO WORK WITH HER DO IT!!
It was truly a privilege having Professor Mitchell! She's an extremely detailed and eloquent lecturer. She makes otherwise concept-heavy lectures incredibly palatable. Participation matters! If you listen, make sure to take notes alongside her, and review your notes before quizzes and exams, you will soar! She's an absolute gem of an instructor!
I strongly suggest taking Chemistry from Dr. Mitchell. She's professional, understanding, approachable, very organized and highly intelligent. You will be challenged, but she will guide you the entire way. Her syllabus is organized, the material is paced well and she's always willing to meet up outside of office hours. She is an ideal professor.
She explains everything very well is explicit with homework/lab expectations. Also throws in bonus points on quizzes and exams so there's possibilities of getting 100% + . No complains at all.
One of the best professors the college has to offer! Truly cares for her students success in the class, she provides a lot of resources for studying and is always willing to help. Her lectures are very clear and engaging. Just pay attention during them and do the homework attentively and you're likely to get an A.
Best chem professor I ever had! She explains the concepts really well! Always offers to help and explains slowly, which I really like! She offers extra credit! Also, her lectures are recorded, they're helpful and easy to follow along to. Overall, she made chem easy to understand, thank you professor!!
took her in the summer and did not cut off any slack for us. I expect her to think about the students and make sure they understand before going into a test
Dr. Mitchell is a great professor. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She's very organized and goes by the schedule on the syllabus. Do the extra credit and go to office hours! It's more challenging than chem 201 and attendance is key to getting a good grade.
Prof Mitchell is the GOAT of chem. Lectures slap, resources are A1, and she actually cares about us for real. Never thought I'd say this, but she made chem low-key fun. Definitely taking the rest of my chem classes with her!
Dr.Mitchell is AMAZING!! I am truly lucky to have had her as a professor, not only is she organized and timely but she's always available to give feedback when needed. She is truly an amazing resource. I definitely recommend taking advantage of extra credit on all assignments, only a few points on one but it adds up to a helpful clump in the end
Mitchell is wonderful, from her ability to break down concepts to her caring personality. I wish I had her for chem 1 because when we reviewed old concepts I understood her way better than my previous prof. Don't get me wrong, the content is still about as difficult as chem 1. She gives a good amount of extra credit and respects accommodations.
