If math isn't your strong point than this is the teacher for you. Multiple choice HW assignments! Just don't expect to get them back anytime soon. Spent a long time trudging through the book. Skipped parts we ran out of time for.
Very clear explanations, lot's of work, but good results
Nehnevaj is a very easy but fun and helpful class, she doesn't grade on attendance except for test and quiz days. She is always there to help you if needed, and there is only one to two assignments due a week.
No graded homework. Multi-choice tests. If you suck at math because you're a slacker, take someone else or you're screwed! ;)
Good teacher -- gives students a list of problems 3 miles long every day to work out, but doesn't collect them. Fairly difficult tests/homework, but you feel like you're getting a pretty good grasp of the material covered.
A great teacher. She knew her material, was very practical with it, and explained it well, in many different ways. Is lenient on the homework, her tests are manageable, and she's got a good personality. Shame she only teaches a few classes.
One of the best math teachers I have ever experienced. I would recommend her to anyone.
Not a bad teacher. The tests are hard if you don't do the homework. Good lectures that are easy to understand. You learn by example.
In HS I failed Alegebra 3x, I just didn't get it. Tracy actually taught me Algebra. I understand it now. Her test grading is harsh, but she'll work to help you as hard as you work to learn. If you have the chance to take her class, do it. Shuffle other classes around if you need to.
I took MATH 030 and 090 prior to taking 095. Tracy is such a fantastic communicator that I actually understood the content in this class better than the previous two classes combined! She is also incredibly nice, too, and truly wants her students to succeed. I would highly recommend you go out of your way to take her for any math class.
By far the most helpful math professor that i've ever had.
Very nice and helpful teacher. Very understanding. Really enjoyed her class. Make sure to keep up with the work, or you'll end up behind VERY easily.
Very helpful. She explained things very well on the board and was very helpful with questions. A lot of homework. Tests were somewhat challenging. Keep up on the homework.
She is very helpfull and explains things very well.
nice, helpful
great teacher. i would reconmend to all. she wants you to pass and shows it.
Tracy is a good teacher and explains things well. As 030 is a remedial class, she will often put things in several different ways to help everyone understand; very helpful and seems to genuinely enjoy teaching us! I would recommend her for struggling math students wishing to turn over a new leaf.
Tracy is an excellent instructor. She breaks down the problem solving process into an easy to understand step by step method.
Tracy is an instructor that students can always count on. She gives students a real oppertunity to do well by helping as much as they are willing to work. I failed the same class in HS and recieved a's in both of her classes in addition to gaining confidence in my education. I can't say enough good things about Tracy!
I've enjoyed this class immensely. Tracy is an outstanding instructor that teaches in a way that is understandable and respectful to all. Tracy is genuine and will never make you feel foolish explaining. I heartily recommend her.
Great teacher, but she was absent one day short of 2 weeks of class; she has 4 kids,if they are ill she does not come..or get subs until she is absent so much the college requires it, we had subs 3 days. Not all material was covered on syllabus, had to cram an entire chapter in 3 days, then it was 25% of the final exam, didn't seem fair.Grades tough.
Very clear. She explained things so even the not so bright kids can get it.
she has a vary good ideas and i am a high school drop out and i can under stand math vary well though her.....she did have to leave at the end of the guarter to have her baby and gave us a sub who changed the tests and that really SUCKD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but she is a vary good teacher a plan to take her next math class
Such a nice and helpful teacher. Highly recommended. She is picky when it comes to grading tests which isn't a big deal at all. Assigns homework but it is not required although it will help you on the tests. Overall, TAKE THIS TEACHER. She's great =)
If you are looking to build a good foundation for Algebra, this is the instructor for you!! Tracy has a way of making math make sense. If you are considering anyone else, I will tell you to reconsider. At first she may seem a little hardcore, but trust her and just do what she asks and you will prosper. She is an amazing teacher!!!!!!!!!!!
Tracy is down to earth and practical. She meets with me 2x a week to make sure I understand what she is teaching. She requires that you know vocabulary but otherwise her tests are very fair. No notes or extra credit, but if you do what she asks, you wont fail. Highly recommend her!
Tracy was an amazing teacher. I have never had a better teacher. She makes things completely understandable. I highly recommend Tracy. If you don't like math, TAKE HER!!! She will make it fun and change your perspective on math
Tracy LOVES Math! And she will help you so much! Before I took her class, I hated math, now I love it! She knows so many tricks and tips- she makes it so that you can find a way to enjoy math. Best teacher. TAKE her class!
Tracy was a pretty nice teacher. She misses class because of her kids sometimes. She is VERY focused on math and laid out everything nicely on handouts. I recommend doing the practice problems that are optional. I personally don't really like her teaching style but for others she was great.
Tracy is a GREAT math teacher. I would recommend her to everyone. She's very organized. As long as you are willing to attend class and keep on the Sections from the book, and practice, and learn something, its an easy class.. She's very fair on grading, she gives extra credit, and overall is a very nice and understanding person.
Great teacher! Makes it understandable.
very great professor. She realizes her students are not at a high level of education and teaches at the rate we need. misses a few to many classes, but very helpful. her love for math made me have a love for math.
she is a great teacher
Tracy is the best teacher I have had. very helpful, cares about all her students.all the help you need.
Excellent teacher! She has a calm and cool vibe. Crystal clear when teaching and VERY helpful! Pay attention in class and you'll be fine. I'm taking her for my next math, definitely.
Great teacher calm easy going at a good pace home work load is ok not to demanding liked thisclass very much , they also have a support group and the TA was very help gull.
Tracy is a great teacher. She is very good with the students, even when they keep asking the same question over and over. I enjoyed her class immensely and I wish she taught more higher levels of math. Never thought I would enjoy math, but I found myself wanting more. If your struggling a bit, she is the one to take.
Tracy is amazing. She goes section by section and won't move on until the entire class is on the same page. She's very personable and made me not hate math. She gets excited about little things and that made it easier and more fun as well!
Very good teacher. She explains everything really well! You shouldn't have a problem in this class!
Tracy is the best math teacher I have ever had. She does her best to show you how to do all of the problems in class, and it really helps you understand math a lot better. I wish I could have her as my math teacher all the time :) very helpful, ad super nice
HW every week.if you can get good grade of exam, don't have to worry about attendance. she is very nice teacher. easy to get A!
Tracy makes math easy for anyone to understand. She actually enjoys math and teaching. I hated math prior to taking math with Tracy. This was my second course with her. If she thought my next level of math I would not hesitate to sign up with her.
Nehnevaj sets a golden standard for math instructors in college. I never realized how informing and helpful one could be until I took her class. She is willing to work with you every step of the way, even during class lectures. I wholeheartedly recommend her for an instructor. If you've always had trouble comprehending math concepts, try her class.
Tracy gives an impression, especially at first, that she is not friendly, but she is just all business. Don't be afraid to talk to her, to check in with your progress and to ask her for help. She makes time for her students after classes. Keep up with the homework and don't fall behind and its not too bad. I would take her in the future.
She is great at teaching, always tells you what to expect from her and what to prepare for ahead of time, i enjoy that!
Awesome teacher. Wasn't afraid to repeat herself to make things as crystal-clear as possible. Made every problem look super easy, taught you how to memorize it, and always made herself readily available for extra questions. Homework is done throughout the quarter and only has to be turned in once near the end for the points. Overall great teacher!
Tracy has a great teaching style and will try to re-word anything that doesn't come clear to a student. She kept class engaging enough for a math class that it made it fun to show up to her class. She is very fair and willing to help a student or give a student a chance that is giving their everything in her class.
Awesome teacher, wants you to pass and is very helpful. Really easy A! God bless her!
Tracy is a very good professor. She makes sure everyone is on the same page with the course material and will take time out of class to go over homework problems. She gives a lot of examples and usually lets us out early. I would definitely take more courses with her again!
Tracy has a true gift for teaching. She brings clarity and humor to the trickiest concepts and is willing to go over problems repeatedly if necessary. I'm not a math person at all, but she made this class bearable for me and even enjoyable at times! Definitely recommended :)
Best math teacher in Clark. Very clear and will break down each step in the most simple forms to make anyone understand math. Gives good tips to remember algebra procedures. No HW unless you want to practice for tests. I had her for all semesters of algebra. Wish she taught higher levels so I could have her again.
Tracy is easily one of the best teachers I've ever had for math. She has a lecture style note taking system, but its easily followed. She is very approachable and easy to talk to if you have questions. The way she has you set up a binder for her class is very helpful. it keeps you on track if you keep it up to date.
She takes forever to grade assignments and there's only a few. She doesn't have any of the scores on canvas listed so you don't know what your grade is. She marks you down on little things and just does problems up on the board all class. She doesn't explain her work, just solves it.
I really liked Tracy. I had her since Math 89 and am planning on taking her for future Math courses. She has an easy to follow lectures and strives to have everybody on board during lecture. If people are struggling, she will reexplain the problem step by step or even do another one if needed. She is very approachable during class and office hours
She does a good job of teaching the material and is very open to questions but is a very tough grader. There's no extra credit to assist your grade and your grade relies heavily on how well you answer the questions on the tests.
Tracy was my first math teacher in 12 years. I was so nervous I would be way behind everyone but she made math so easy and fun to learn. Tracy is to the point and makes math very black and white. If you like learning in a simple and to the point matter, Tracy is perfect for you. I absolutely loved her and hope I have her again in the future
Tracy is absolutely amazing. She is a real person, like us college students. If she needs to skip class you don't have class that day, and she allows you to do the same. (I didn't miss a day however). Very few assignments, 3 tests and a final. STUDY. She explains it well enough in class that if you do your practice problems you're golden. Love her!
Tracy is one of the best math teachers out there! She gets straight to the point she makes math fun and easy!
Explains everything very clearly and takes the time to make sure everyone understands.
Just try and you'll be fine. All the homework and quizzes were online with Pearson and we had unlimited attempts. Only 3 tests throughout the quarter. Class got pretty boring though because she would teach something one day and then spend all of the next day reviewing it. Everything is well-explained, almost too much. Attendance isn't a grade.
As someone who hates math, I absolutely love Tracy's class! She's really helpful, very mellow, and a really fair teacher. If she doesn't cover something well enough in class she'll push the homework back which is really helpful. She does a lot of review which I loved and really needed! She's funny and all in all my favorite math teacher ever.
Tracy is an awesome teacher I would take her class again. As for the textbook didn't use it at all i'm going to be honest, but if you plan on missing class I think that's where the textbook could help a lot.
I took Tracy for 107 (Math in Society). Teaching Style is super easy to follow, breaks everything into easy to understand steps. Provides in-class worksheets with definitions, formulas, and practice problems. Concepts range from compound interest to probability, data analysis. Can bring a help sheet to tests. Best math teacher I've had!
Tracy is a great teacher, but she's not for everybody. She's very knowledgeable, helpful, and passionate about what she teaches, but if you're one of those students that does all your homework, but struggles on tests, then I would suggest you take a different professor.
2 exams, 1 final. 1 cheat sheet on exams and 3 on the final. Homework problems are due 2-4 times weekly. I recommend having a TI-84 calc, as older version do not have functions used in class. Nehnevaj is organized, positive, and genuinely seeks the best for her students. She will extend due dates. She struggles to answer specific questions.
Tracy is well-organized, has clear instructions and is very forgiving. She often extends due dates if we are behind a day or so. The homework is very helpful and it is extremely easy to get 100% on all of them. A full page of notes is given on tests, and a page of notes front and back on the final.
Puts things up on the board and expects you to know it, I had a lot of questions that did not get answered.
Tracy was awesome for the whole quarter. She made lectures enjoyable and easy to follow and always kept exactly what she taught in class on the tests. Everything was black and white and she never made anything confusing.
I took MATH146 online with Tracy because of covid and I think she really tried helping as much as she could. There was a ton of work to do, (especially since it's stats and every question had 10 parts to it) but her criteria was clear. She had a couple random and useless group projects but they were really easy. Not sure how she teaches in person.
Tracy was great! I can tell she is still trying to adjust to the online environment a bit, but she is doing her best. She is really sweet, and the course is relatively easy. Open book quizzes and exams. I mainly used the textbooks then. Zoom sessions weren't mandatory, and there weren't a whole ton of assignments for the course. Take her!
I am not a very good math person and this class is very hard for me personally. This Professor is extremely kind and is willing to work with you 100%. I do not ever want to take this class again, but I would LOVE to take a class from her again.
She has a good personality and character as a person, but she does not quite know what she is doing... She barely knew what she was teaching which made asking questions more difficult. I did have to miss some class days and she was very calm about it. It was just hard for me to learn from her...
I took Professor Nehnevaj's Stats class, and while it was hard, she was very helpful. Very good communicator over e-mail and corrects herself when she makes a mistake. She has clear grading criteria and will help you if you're struggling with any of the content. There is a lot of homework, but you can always reach out. I highly recommend her!
Most of the work is auto-graded but Prof Tracy does take a long time to grade discussions and homework that isn't auto-graded. Its statistics so expect a lot of parts/steps to one problem. Overall, Prof Tracy isn't too bad.
Professor Nehnevaj waited until finals week to grade our discussion posts (which were collectively worth 600 points). I think she truly cared about our work, but her unpreparedness and delayed grading were frustrating. However, she was always available over email and replied quickly with answers to questions.
I thought stats was pretty difficult. Tracy was very nice, but I wasn't the biggest fan of her teaching style.
Very specific and late grader. You wont know your end grade until the last days.
I enjoyed being in Tracy's class for a week. She was great at explaining the concepts and examples. She seemed really nice and had a calming presence. But she dropped me out of the class before the first assignment was even due. I was working on it when I got the email. I don't think it's ok to drop a student before they can prove themselves.
I took this class online and found it incredibly difficult, although there was a group chat it was rarely used. Class seems disorganized, in a "figure it out yourself" kind of way. I was given a textbook and then moved right along to the homework.
Overall she was a great professor. There were no tests or a final but that meant the homework was heavily weighted along with the at home assignments. Each homework question you were allowed multiple attempts to get it right which greatly helped. Tracy definitely want to set her students up for success.
I can always appreciate a professor that recognizes that we are all humans just trying to do our best. She is respectful and you can tell she is passionate about her job! She is very fair and all homework assignments have a 24 hour grace period. 10/10 would recommend :)
This class was easy enough! No tests or quizzes, and mainly based on homeworks that all have a free 2-day extension. She is hard to reach outside of class and grades late. Regardless, I would take again.
Easy to understand what needs to be done for class. Lots of group work. Only a few tests in the class, but she lets you use one side of an 8.5 by 11 page for the test. Expects students to get high scores on homework. Lots of homework and discussion posts.
Tracy admitted on the first day that her memory was starting to fail her, she also had not set up canvas at the time despite it being the first day of class. We didnt get the curriculum until halfway through the quarter, and she also gave the wrong exam review material to us right before an exam, only admitting to it after I asked. She's nice tho.
I had Professor Nehnevaj for math 92. It was all online except for three math tests, which were in person. I was sick for 3 1/2 weeks then my daughter was taken to the emergency room & I missed assignments thankfully she let me make up that work, she also allows 10 late passes. I hated math as a child, and I am shocked to earn an A-.
She was a great teacher. Always flexible with due dates and no hard assignments. She was helpful and willing to explain any problems you had till you figured it out. It was an easy class if you put effort and great to take another class with. Definitely recommend.
She's a great professor & gives good feedback, cares about whether you know the material, but she has a LOT of homework, like about 5 days in a row, and you have to do ALL the online work AT time. It's so important because your grade will be destroyed so badly, as it was mine.+you can use late passes,&you can do HW only 4 days after the deadline.
