very nice!! recommend !!! :)
VERY clear and easily understandable. She constantly re-words the material for everyone to learn. HIGHLY recommended!
Very good teacher. Lets you retake test
just pretty rude
good teacher.. lets you retake tests and quizes
Allows for test/Quiz retakes and is very helpfull. But "Gateways" can cause some unecesary stress. But you really learn your Arithmatic. (No calculators on Quiz/Gateways, only on tests.)
Very rude. Made me feel like I was bothering her when I went to her office hours. Told me how bad my algebra was, not too helpful.

Best math teacher ever!
It was very helpful that she allows retakes on quizes and tests.
I hate math. However, Tracy made it easy to understand and is so helpful. If you do poorly on a quiz she will let you retake it and she takes the ebtter of the two scores. There is a lot of homework, but it really helps you learn the material. She also gives extra points out like crazy!
Wallach seriously rocks. Math is one of those classes that sucks but she teaches it really well. She allows test/quiz retakes and is very helpful if you go to her for help. If you show up to class everyday, take good notes, and stay on the ball it is possible to walk out of here with an A.
She is by far the best teacher i have ever had. She explains everything very clearly and if u still dont understand she always, and i mean always has time for questions outside of class. If you are scared of Algebra then take her cuz she will break it down much easier
Tracy is the best prof I have ever had. She goes wayyyy out of her way to help everyone at all times. She is dedicated to her students and it definitely shows!
She's very helpful. She will make sure you know what you are doing. She lets you retake tests and quizes and takes the higher one. She tries to make jokes... Overall she's a nice teacher who cares about how her students do.
Great, great teacher!! Homework is usually optional, yet it helps a ton with the tests. Also, with the classes I had the tests were re-takeable. You will learn math!
Seems busy, frusterated and irritated all the time but will do, and does, everything she can to make sure you're understanding the material. Come to class, do the assigned homework (even though it's never collected) and PARTICIPATE. All students are allowed to re-take their tests and quizzes. She's a terrific teacher.
I don't like this professor she gives quizzes every other day and it's a bit ridiculous! Literally we have a quiz every other day and there is a ton of homework, at least more then 20 problems a night!
She was helpful in that you could re-take ALL your quizzes during her office hours :) She doesn't grade textbook homework. Do it anyway (good practice) BUT, you have to get a god grade on the final exam to pass her class, even if you have a 100% in the class and get a 60 on the exam she won't pass you.
1st Id like to say I want to submit her to whatnottowear. ...quiz every other day, you can retake them but shes not very willing to help. When I asked questions I got " u should already know that if your in this class" The actual class itself isnt hard, i got a A or B but whether you pass of fail is determined by the final and the final only. lame
She is a good teacher. Quizzes every tuesday/thursday. you can makeup any of them. she would tell jokes. never even bought the book for the class. didn't collect the bookwork so i never did it. i got an A in the class. you have to pass the final with atleast a 70% to pass the class no matter what
Badass professor. She explains stuff crystal clear and let's you retake quizzes. She will challenge you on quizzes and tests but if you go to class, listen to what she says, and do the homework you will get a good grade.
She really cares about the students understanding the material and cares about the grades. She gives quizzes every tuesday and thursday and lets you retake 8 of the 12.. real easy teacher.little corny but whatever
probably the best math professor i've ever had. i hate math. so helpful to her students, which is what is needed in math. i'd never pay attention in my other math classes, but with tracy, i actually paid attention and gasp, might've enjoyed math just a LITTLE bit...she rocks. period.
Professor Wallach scared me at first because she had a blank expression on her face and was a real stickler for the rules. She also when over the class time almost every day, but I ended up loving her in the end because shes so helpful. I went to her office hours all the time, plus she lets you retake quizzes and one test. She's very helpful
I had her for core math 1, 2, and 3. I love her! She is so helpful and will always be in her office to help. She wants you to understand and is super cool and laid back. Would take her again any day!
Great Professor! Very good at explaining and helping you understand.. If you do what she asks you will do well
She was my fav. professor my freshman yr because she was so helpful, but after you complete her course, she isnt at all. I asked her to fill out a letter of recommendation for my RA application and she told me she would. A month later I received a rejection email saying that she never submitted a reference. I lost the the opportunity because of her
She is the best professor! i loved her she made everthing so easy! cant use a calculator which i freaked about but she helped so much i didnt need to I love her!
Very Very helpful. Let's you retake most quizzes. Usually always available. Had to take an hour and a half math class, but she made time fly and let out us a few min early all the time! Defiantly recommend her!
I am absolutely terrible at math, but she helped me whenever I needed it. Very comprehensive and was willing to go over whatever I was stuck on. Will go out of her way to help you as long as you ask for it. Explains things in a very simple way to make sure you'll fully grasp the topic. I'd recommend her to anyone struggling with math.
I had Professor Wallach for Basic Algebra 2. She is great with helping and wanting you to succeed. She will do anything to help you as long as you ask. She also helped me enjoy math and I had that feeling of success when I finished her class.
I took her core 3 class twice because i failed the first one because of my attendance. If you actually show up to class she is the nicest woman and goes out of her way to help you. If you struggle at all I recommend seeing her during her office hours. She helped me so much.
They have this new math progam called Aleks (aleks.com) and you do everything by yourself do not come here for math, it is sucks badly, but she is a good teach but useless now, so she should just be fired just like all the other teachers that voted for this website.
She is awesome!. She will make you work, but it is a god thing because it keeps you ahead. She will give you quizzes mostly every week. The quizzes are very easy it is just a way t get extra points. Then she will also give you homework sheets, besides of all the homework you need to have completed by midnight before each exam. If you can, TAKE HER!
Great professor. Will try to act hard sometimes, with me atleast, but she was too nice for it. Learned a lot from the class. Recommended
Instructor was very rude and coarse despite that I worked to receive an A in the class and never missed a single day. Rules are ridiculously strict for a basic math class. She passes all questions off to the tutors, so just go to them, don't bother with her. So happy to have finished that class early.
She is the best math professor that I have had at Kent State! I even asked if she taught the next level class because I wanted to take her again. She is SO available for help and truly wants the best for her students. You only need the book for the online hw code. You can retake tests and quizes, hw is an easy boost to grade! Take Her!!!
Its a hard math clas .
One of my favorite professors!
I took the ALEKS class with her. Theres not really a lot of interaction with the professor. Its mainly a class that you work at your own pace. The tutors will help if you need any help. But just go to class and do an hour of work a day and you will not have any problems.
Excellent teacher, gives you every opportunity to get a good grade. Attendance is mandatory, you get bumped up a tier if you miss less than 2 classes. She is always available and offers many many reviews.
Super rude to her students. Doesn't help much with any questions you have. Tutors do all her work. Gives out reviews which is nice but doesn't really explain how to do any problems.
I took Wallach for Aleks and she made that class worst than it was. She's very rude to her students and does not let you use a calculator in any of her classes when other Professors do. She is very understanding though if you are sick and can not make it to class, just don't make it a regular thing.
super helpful and knowledgeable will go out of her way to help her students
Tracy comes off as a rude person but she means well. You will work with your group ALOT and she only takes one score from your group so make sure you have the same answers. Lots of online homework, she's helpful yet intimidating to ask for help. Her review sessions will save your test grades go to all of them and ask questions.
She teaches you the most basic way of doing things and then the tests and quizzes are completely different. She does give you a lot of retakes but it doesn't help if you don't understand how to do the problems. Comes off as very rude. Lots of online homework, don't procrastinate on it!!
She can have an attitude or be rude however you can tell she's passionate about math & she can help you if needed. You can miss 3 days of class but if you don't each day you didn't miss turns into an extra credit point(3 total). Also you're aloud to listen to music but there is no texting and if you are caught she will take it away until class ends
I had Tracy for ALEKS math during my Freshman year at Kent. Math is not my strongsuit, and I struggled to pass the class. However, Tracy was more than helpful in assisting me to pass the class. She is professional, but she cares deeply about her students and she really wants to see students succeed. I respect Tracy a lot, and I liked her class.
Tracy can come off as rude, but if you respect her and do well on your quizzes, there shouldn't be any problems.
I took Prof Wallach for Algebra for Calculus 2 and at first, I did not like her teaching style. She lets you retake up to 3 tests and up to 10 quizzes. I highly recommend going to her for tutoring cause she definitely wants you to succeed. She also re-opens up the online homework at the end of the semester. She is awesome and I recommend taking her
Don't let half of these reviews scare you professor Wallach is a very sweet professor and cares about her students deeply. Just try to make an effort to come to class and listen. Make sure you do all the online homework because that can make or break your grade and will do well in her class
I have Professor Tracy for stretch 1 and while she definitely comes across as gruff and I'm sure some people think she's rude. But I think she is hilarious. Watching 18 year old kids test her on her cell phone policy and watching her kick them out is great. She's also a solid teacher and works through problems with you. Very accessible too
I had Wallach for ALEKS, she was easy going and allowed me to move ahead. I liked the class, because I could move at my own pace. She was helpful when needed and encouraging. I was able to complete two math classes with her in just half a semester. Just make sure to show and do your work.
The class is a lot of work, but Tracy is very available and cares about students passing. Many quiz/exam re-takes and you will actually learn from the class.
Failed her math class but still one of the best math teachers ive had. Very willing to help. sometimes it just takes 2 semesters.
Oh Tracy, what I would do to have you as my calculus professor right now. Tracy doesn't allow you to use calculators & she may make you feel stupid at times BUT she does care about you learning the material. I got 60-70's on every exam but I did my homework and came to class so she bumped my grade a bit.
Very relatable and cares about her students. Will make sure you understand material and if you do not will make herself available for extra help. Always willing to help, takes her time going over material and teaches it very well.
Tracy Wallach is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She might give out a lot of work, but it is always relevant to what we are learning. She has a lot of office hours, and I suggest you take advantage of those. She also allows you to retake most of your test/quizzes. She is so helpful and a great teacher. Do yourself a favor and take her.
I hate math but actually enjoy Tracy. Her exams are sorta difficult and lots of class material but she makes sure everyone succeeds. She's patient and helpful but will NOT tolerate cell phones, don't risk it. I'd recommend her if you're bad at math because she is helpful.
I love her so much. I just saw her today and I wanted to cry I missed her so much. My other math professors can't compare. She comes off intimidating but if you ask for help outside of class she will be more than willing. She lets students re-take 3 exams and 10 quizzes and she will even help tutor you for the re-takes.
Tracy's class was very difficult and she graded homework hard. Do not take her if you struggle with math. She is also very rude to students. If you have your phone out whatsoever during class you will be kicked out. BUT if the whole class is talking and not paying attention, she does not care and does not say anything. She is condescending.
Tracy is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She's funny, approachable, explains the material in a way that makes sense, and makes a serious effort to help students who are struggling. I'm ordinarily someone who struggles with math, but I came out with an A! She's a great, fun teacher who cares about her students.
Tracy is a nice lady! But her class is cluttered to the max. I learn by taking notes and practicing homework but she does math different from the homework and it really messes you up on the test. I did good, but the only points I miss are for absolutely stupid reasons. She's very old school. No calculators above Ti84 allowed. Expect very little use
tracy gives you the opportunity to retake almost all quizes and tests & will take any amount of time to help you understand the material. She's funny, but tough and doesn't give a lot of partial credit. She notices effort above all - what you put in you'll get out. extremely strict about phones and attendance.
Horrible professor, does not know how to put in grades into blackboard. YOU BASICALLY HAVE TO FIND OUT WHAT YOUR GRADE IS BY YOURSELF. Takes off points because you dont put your seat number, takes of petty points on written exams. and honestly she was just horrible.
I took the BOOST class that started this year. Absolutely awful. For two months our homework was over nothing we learned in class. She didn't change it until October. Most of the class was failing. I asked her what I can do to help my grade and the first thing she told me was to drop the class. Less work for her the better. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
probably my favorite prof of all time. passed with an easy A. if you miss less than three classes, she raises your grade at the end of the semester. she offers tons of extra credit & is very open about changing grades if necessary. its a homework heavy course, & you do have to keep track of your grade yourself but overall, not real big issues imo
Once she digs into the class itself leaves a lot to be desired. Half of the homework is online with another half on paper, along with most quizzes and exams. Refused to give the second exam back after 2 months and refuses to keep track of your grades so you have to find them yourself. Stressful to wait for grades and hard to keep track of them too.
Tracy is a wonderful professor and person. Yes, she comes across as blunt - but truly does care about student success. Grades are not put in blackboard so you will have to keep track of your own grades. Homework every single night of semester minus Sat/Sun. As a science major junior, Calc Boost was the hardest course I have ever had to take.
TRACY WALLACH IS AMAZING! I took Pre-Calc one semester with another prof and had to drop the course. Math is very hard for me. Tracy worked with me and helped me all semester. She is so amazing I recommend her over all other math professors at Kent State
A textbook example of "tough love." She seems strict (and sometimes is) but if you stay caught up with homework and are respectful in class she'll love you. She wants everyone to pass and gives many opportunities to improve your grade, including late passes and quiz/exam retakes/makeups. If you put in the work you'll do well.
She maybe a good teacher in an actual classroom, but she cannot teach an online class at all. I would not take another class with her teaching if it was online.
The class itself is a tough class, but Tracy was great. Really good at teaching and explaining whats going on. Always willing you to help you out if you make the effort. Gives extra credit for attendance, lets you retake exams. Takes a little getting used to but I loved the way teaches.
I had to retake Algebra For Calc Boost after struggling with the class in a previous semester with a different professor. Tracy does an excellent job at explaining and making sure the class actually knows what is going on. She can come off a little strict at first, but if you do your work and participate in class you'll do fine with her.
Wallach is a okay teacher, her teaching style is very pace. It makes me a little longer to grasp the material, if your anything like me, I wouldn't advise you to take her class. She doesn't take the time to explain things in depth, so I was in tutoring 3-5 a week. Also be prepared to be given loads of papers
this class itself is a tough class, but i felt like she did a great job showing step by step how to solve problems. she also lets you retake exams. if you put in the effort to ask questions and go to office hours when confused you will be fine. her personality takes some getting used to
Homework online every day, as a professor she goes super fast and too much in detail, do it by yourself while she's lecturing and you'll get it 1000% better, she's kind of awkward but actually a very sweet person, just don't like her teaching style. Lots of extra credit and retake opportunities.
Very nice, except she a tough grader. Was very helpful during class and office hours. Allows retakes on quizzes and tests. Also will raise your grade a tier if you miss less than 3 days. very good!
Very work heavy. Lots of extra credit opportunities given, and you can retake tests and quizzes for full credit 3 times. Is strict on attendance, but if you miss 0-3 days she rounds your grade up a tier. May be blunt at times, but she really does care about her students. She is a great teacher and will help you with whatever you need.
Ms. Tracy is a very good teacher. She can be very blunt and direct but truly cares about her student's grades. I would absolutely love to have her as a teacher again. The class has lots of homework however, there's tutoring right outside of the classroom, and she has office hours two to three times a week. Lots of extra credit opportunities.
She is a good professor. Had daily homework for my class, but this really helped in preparing for the exams. Tests are super easy if you know what happens in class every day. She uploads everything on Canvas and gives easy credits and brownie points. Very clear methods to follow. Even someone who is weak in math can understand clearly.
I took algebra for calculus boost which is a notoriously difficult class, however, professor Wallach made it intriguing and more understandable. She really wants you succeed in the class and offers retakes on all quizzes and test and will assist you outside of class. Also she offers pizza parties and "brownie points" to earn actual food brownies.
She used a lot of note worksheets and used the book a few times (mainly need it to access homework website). She also give a lot of extra credit opportunities and i ended the class with a 112%. She is pretty blunt when she speak but once you get past that shes great.
Professor Wallach is an amazing instructor. She gives many opportunities to retake quizzes and tests to improve your grade. Going to class every day is very important because you will miss stuff and be confused. She does upload papers to Canvas but if you were like me, you will not check it out if you miss it. She is very helpful.
The level of work that you would expect for a math class. On the pro side, she lets you retake any test/quiz and gives you a lot of homework passes. Con side, she treats the classroom like an elementary school. If you just need to pass this class, she is your best bet with all the extra credit and retakes she offers.
Professor Wallach is a great professor. She really prepares you to pass the class by giving out handouts everyday, having practice problems on the board and giving out weekly quizes. She offers extra credit for tests and quizes and if you don't like your score on a test/quiz you can always retake it! Also, attend office hours and go to tutoring!
